Department of Injustice
Prosecutors in the Stevens case deserve severe sanctions
Something is very rotten at the U.S. Department of Justice. No other reasonable conclusion can be drawn from an independent report on the 2008 prosecution of then-Senator Ted Stevens.
According to the exhaustive study ordered by Judge Emmet Sullivan, government attorneys engaged in "systematic concealment" of "significant exculpatory evidence which would have independently corroborated Senator Stevens's defense and his testimony, and seriously damaged the testimony and credibility of the government's key witness."
Most damaging to Justice's credibility is that, three years after Judge Sullivan set aside the guilty verdicts against Stevens, the department still hasn't disciplined the men and women involved. Nor has it instituted harsher penalties for future abuses. Attorney General Eric Holder told a Senate committee last week that a separate internal inquiry at Justice is almost done, but he would not promise to make all the results public. Speaking of public scrutiny, you've probably never heard of Matthew Friedrich, Rita Glavin, Brenda Morris, Joseph Bottini, James Goeke or Edward Sullivan. But maybe more people should know them, and learn the various roles they played in a prosecution that not only trampled on the rights of the accused, but denied the people of Alaska a fair election and literally shifted the balance of power in the U.S. government. A day after Barack Hussein Obama met with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, he gave a press conference and responded to a question of what would happen if sanctions on Iran fail (more than they have already) by denouncing "those who are suggesting, or proposing, or beating the drums of war". On cue the Pravda press rushed to their iPads to begin tapping out the appropriate denunciations of Republican candidates, Netanyahu and American Jews for their warmongering. However at that same press conference, Obama was careful to draw a distinction between Syria and Iran. When asked whether his "window of diplomatic opportunity" and serious face remarks about the "costs of war" applied to Syria as well as Iran, the peacemonger suddenly became the warmonger, asserting that, "What's happening in Syria is heartbreaking and outrageous, and what you've seen is the international community mobilize against the Assad regime. And it's not a question of when Assad leaves -- or if Assad leaves -- it's a question of when." In Iran, Ahmadinejad and Khamenei get an endless window to repress their own people and build their nukes, while in Syria, Assad is told that it's only a question of when he leaves. That's not the kind of talk you use unless you mean to make him leave, one way or another, using the fig leaf of the international community, which can't get a war vote through the UN, but can organize yet another Coalition of the Willing. To the untrained ear this may sound a lot like the beating of war drums, but sophisticated types know that it's actually the cowbell of peace jangling with the groovy beat of humanitarian vibes. Sure it may all end in bombs falling on Damascus, but they'll be peace bombs painted rainbow colors by marines who have married each other in a special commitment ceremony. Republicans make war, while Democrats make explosive peace, just like they did in Kosovo where there are still more American troops than there are in Iraq, a legacy of the Clinton Administration's humanitarian bombmaking peace. Now after years of sneering at Republicans, the Democrats have their own Axis of Evil list, they just refuse to admit that they have it. Bombing countries on the list is a friendly act, which is why the current name for the Coalition of the Willing in Syria, is "Friends of Syria", a name that would have given Orwell a fit. Bombing countries that aren't on the list is irresponsible warmongering. It's a matter of transparent hypocrisy that the same voices who keep denouncing warmongering in Iran, want us to go into Syria. The difference between warmongering and a righteous humanitarian effort is a matter of political orientation, much like the difference between Iraq and Libya where we bombed a country to rid it of its dictator only to leave behind chaos and feuding factions. Or between Kony2012 and drone strikes in Somalia. Democrats don't like the military, but they like their wars.

Springtime for Occupy! Piven & Lerner's Six Risky, Strategic Steps Forward for the Evicted Movement
The Blaze | by Benny Johnson | Posted on March 20, 2012 at 12:13am
It's Springtime for Occupy! That means the brilliant cast of characters that brought you the noxious, multimillion dollar expense to the taxpayer are back for a second round. Two of The Blaze's favorite leaders of civic unrest, arch-liberal sociologist Frances Fox Piven and SEIU labor organizer Stephen Lerner discussed how Occupy Wall Street will pivot to a far more local, intimate occupation this spring after being evicted from their public squatting grounds with rubber bullets and crews in post apocalyptic hazmat suits. In an in-depth interview with Democracynow.org, Piven and Learner lay out five integral steps that Occupy will be taking this spring to keep a pulse going.

From our friend Diana Reimer from Philadelphia Tea Party Patriots
Road to Repeal Rally Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 12pm Upper Senate Park, Washington, DC
Join us on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 12pm in Washington, DC as we begin our journey down the Road to Repeal.
Are you worried about Government run health care? Are you opposed to the Federal government making medical choices for you? Join thousands of patriots who share your views on ObamaCare. Come to Washington, DC and be a part of the Road to Repeal Rally.
A majority of Americans view government run health care as a sign of what's to come from big government. More politics, more control and less personal choice.
Recent decisions by the US Department of Health and Human Services show precisely how government run healthcare will work. The government will make healthcare decisions based on political considerations over the needs of individuals.
Say NO to ObamaCare! Say NO to government managed health care!
ObamaCare is set to be heard by the Supreme Court of the United States March 26-28. If the Supreme Court does not throw this monstrosity out, then the battle for our healthcare continues on into November and January.
Now is the time to act! We need your help to send a strong, clear message to the big government types who are bent on trampling our personal choice and freedom. This is the first stop on the Road to Repeal! We need your help to win this fight and repeal government run health care!
Visit RoadtoRepeal.com to find or list a bus in your area and updates on the event. We look forward to seeing you there.

Thomas Jefferson: "Whensoever the general government assumes undelegated powers.... a nullification of the act is the rightful remedy."
But what IS nullification? How does it happen and work? Since September 2010, the Tenth Amendment Center has been hosting a national tour to educate and activate people on this topic. People are learning the constitutional basis, when it's been used in history, and how it is happening around the country and how YOU can stop DC right in your own state.

The Kitchen Table Patriots are joining with a confederation of other Pennsylvania Tea Party, libertarian, conservative, Constitutional, Patriot, and 9-12, organizations to have a consensus on a single candidate that reflects the passion, principles, values and commitment of the grassroots as well as has the acumen and gravitas to beat Senator Bob Casey in November. All the groups would then commit to supporting this one candidate in the primary. Doesn't this sound like an endorsement? Wasn't the KTP opposed to having the PA-GOP endorse a candidate? Are we now hypocrites if we were to express and support a preference of one candidate over another? It sounds like that, but we make these distinctions: - The endorsement by the PA-GOP was not from the ground up; it was imposed from the top down.
- All of the candidates tried to get the PA-GOP endorsement because of the weight it carries.
- That is why we are asking for your input and not speaking on your behalf to these other organizations.
We are asking you to tell us which of these candidates you support. By clicking on their name, an email will be generated to us with your preference. We will then compile the results and submit them to the confederation and when all the groups have spoken, we'll report on the coalition results. We are then asking everyone to support the candidate that wins the coalition support so that we can speak in a single, loud and passionate voice. To that end, we ask you to click on one of the names below which will initiate an email to us with your vote. Please - only one vote per person! - Dave Christian.
- Sam Rohrer.
- Marc Scaringi.
- Tom Smith.
- Steve Welch.
For those who would like to know more about the candidates, we have three resources for you: - Excellent video to get a sense of the GOP candidates - Here is the link to the PCN recording of The Pennsylvania Republican Candidates for the U.S. Senate Debate that was hosted by The Kitchen Table Patriots along with The Loyal Opposition, The Thomas Jefferson Club and Citizens for Constitutional Government. http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/19930833

Dear Fellow Patriot,
We have a choice in this years Pennsylvania Senatorial election that will have far reaching consequences for Pennsylvania.
Roger Howard is challenging Dominic Pileggi in the 9th district. Dominic has never been challenged and with the lack of any reformative legislation coming from Harrisburg along with the redistricting fiasco, he is very vulnerable. Can you imagine replacing the third most powerful Republican in Harrisburg?
Right now what stands in our way is the ability to get the message out. We are ordering yard signs and if we had an extra $1000.00 we could double what we are ordering.
Can you make a small donation of $10, $25 or $50. It would make a big difference. Please go to the web site now

Constitution 101: The Meaning and History of the Constitution
Available to you, your family, your friends, and all Americans.
Weeks One & Two Now Available - Sign Up TODAY!
 | Dr. Larry P. Arnn |
Over the years, many friends of Hillsdale, those who never attended college here, have said to me: "Dr. Arnn, I wish I could take Hillsdale's Constitution course!"
In response to these requests, this past year, for the first time ever, Hillsdale College offered the "Introduction to the Constitution" lecture series at no charge. Frankly, I wasn't sure what sort of a response a course like this would have.
That's why I was excited to see that YOU and almost 200,000 other people from all over the United States registered for "Introduction to the Constitution."
Thank you very much for registering and participating. I hope you learned a lot from the series.
I was thrilled, not only by the response, but at what it indicates: Americans are willing and eager learn about the Constitution and to defend the principles of liberty that made America so prosperous!
And this re-awakening of national interest in the Constitution comes not a minute too soon.
Now, for the first time ever, Hillsdale College is offering a no-cost 10-week online Constitution course based on the class Hillsdale College students must complete for graduation:
"Constitution 101: The Meaning and History of the Constitution"
This course on the U.S. Constitution is available online at no charge to anyone who wants to understand and defend the timeless principles of liberty upon which our nation was founded!
I am proud to be teaching part of our NEW "Constitution 101" course and hope YOU will be one of my students again!
"Constitution 101" begins on February 20, 2012, and concludes the week of April 30. It will cover such topics as the Declaration of Independence and its connection to the Constitution, how the Constitution is structured to protect individual liberty and ensure good government, the crisis of constitutional government faced by Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War, and modern challenges to the Constitution during the "Progressive" era.
It is my honor to teach the first class, "The American Mind," and the final class, "The Recovery of the Constitution." All of the classes will be taught by Hillsdale College professors - the top teachers in their field and the same ones who instruct our students here on Hillsdale's campus.
Classes listed in Blue have been posted on YouTube and can be viewed by clicking on the link for each class below.

The U.S. Constitution
A Reader
Divided into eleven sections with introductions by members of Hillsdale's Politics Department faculty, readings cover the principles of the American founding, the framing and structure of the Constitution, the secession crisis and the Civil War, the Progressive rejection of the Constitution, and the building of the administrative state based on Progressive principles.
Editorial Note: Just received a couple of copies of the reader. Not just a short course pamphlet this; with the heft of 'Atlas Shrugged', it is well worth getting whether or not you choose to take the course.
About Hillsdale College
Hillsdale College is a private, coeducational, residential, liberal arts college with approximately 1,400 students. Founded in 1844, the College remains, in the words of its Articles of Association, "grateful to God for the inestimable blessings resulting from the presence of civil and religious liberty and intelligent piety" in our nation, and dedicated to "the diffusion of sound learning" that is "essential to the perpetuity of these blessings."
Hillsdale College is distinguished by its rigorous core curriculum, by its principled rejection of federal and state taxpayer funding, and by the pledge of its Board of Trustees to resists any attempts by the government to regulate its internal affairs. Hillsdale College promotes the principles of liberty nationwide through its national speech digest, Imprimis, which has a monthly circulation of over 2 million, and through several outreach programs. In 2008, Hillsdale launched its Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship in Washington, D.C. The College will also launch the Hillsdale Graduate School of Statesmanship in fall 2012. |

The bad news is last month some well intentioned political activist announced a cut-off date for signing up co-sponsors for Rep. Rose Marie Swanger's American Law's for American Courts (HB 2029) in an effort to inject some urgency into the effort.
What it resulted in was an interruption of the campaign to encourage those Representatives not yet signed on as co-sponsors to join with those Legislators who have already recognized the death by smothering threat to our Constitution.
The good news is there is no cut-off date for adding co-sponsors and we are once again asking your readers to contact their representatives and ask they join the battle.
There are only three Representatives from Bucks who are co-sponsors, Representatives Clymer, Petri and Quinn and we thank them for showing their colors.
But that leaves seven more Representatives who appear to be still standing on the sidelines as the battle for our existence as a free people is joined.
Lame rhetoric? I'm afraid not. If you do not understand the threat we face from 'peaceful' opportunists like CAIR, visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bucksafa11info/messages or contact me at bucksafa11@yahoo.com to schedule an Open the Koran presentation for you and your friends.
If you're ready to help, visit www.actforamerica.org and sign on as a chapter leader. It's free and the people there are friendly and helpful. Your help is needed. Every township, every neighborhood needs an Act! for America chapter leader.
But before you do anything, if your Pennsylvania Representative has not yet ssigned on as co-sponsor, urge her/him to do so and ask what is it that prevents him/her from doing so.
Help Pennsylvania be counted among those States that have shown the courage to face off with the enemies who have plainly stated their aim is to destroy our Nation. Our laws have worked just fine since colonial times. What is needed are politicians who respect them. And you know whose job it is to remind them of that.
Thanks,
John Ryan

CAIR's Fight Against Pennsylvania Foreign Law Bill
by David J. Rusin FrontPage Magazine February 13, 2012
http://www.islamist-watch.org/9192/cair-fight-against-pennsylvania-foreign-law-bill
Resistance to a new bill aimed at limiting foreign law in Pennsylvania courts serves as a case study of how Islamists and their allies operate: peddling falsehoods about Shari'a, painting Muslims as victims, and denying that anyone seeks to institutionalize aspects of Islamic law - even as they vigorously promote that very agenda. With similar legislation being debated across the U.S., understanding their tactics is critical.
At issue in Pennsylvania is House Bill (HB) 2029, which stipulates that "a tribunal shall not consider a foreign legal code or system which does not grant ... the same fundamental liberties, rights and privileges" as guaranteed by the federal and state constitutions. Introduced in November, it follows the American Laws for American Courts (ALAC) model and makes no mention of Shari'a. A preliminary memo sent to legislators last June in the name of Rep. RoseMarie Swanger, HB 2029's chief sponsor, does highlight Islamic law, but she later said that it had been circulated accidentally. Regardless, concerns about Shari'a are warranted due to its many provisions that conflict with the standards of American jurisprudence. For example, it disadvantages women in terms of inheritance, divorce, child custody, and other areas of family law. Shari'a already has shaped numerous cases nationwide, including in Pennsylvania, where one state court decided how assets should be distributed according to Islam.
Pushback against HB 2029 has been led by the Philadelphia office of the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-PA) and was punctuated by an interfaith press conference (video here) at CAIR-PA headquarters on December 14. The overall campaign reflects CAIR's usual recipe of distortion, victimology, and contradiction between words and deeds.
Attacks on bills like HB 2029 begin by sowing confusion about Shari'a. Because Islamic law encompasses virtually every facet of life - governing personal activities such as eating and worship, but also forming an oppressive social and legal structure - suit-and-tie Islamists work to emphasize its unthreatening pieces whenever possible. CAIR-PA executive director Moein Khawaja's suggestion that Shari'a should worry Pennsylvanians no more than halal gyros is a fine example of this technique.

March 23rd, 2012, marks an important and unfortunate anniversary. It will have been exactly two years since President Obama forced his unpopular health care takeover onto the American people. Americans for Prosperity has educated the public about the dangers of government interference in the health care market for the past several years, and now the Supreme Court is set to hear arguments and make a ruling on that very issue. As you are most likely aware, the U.S. Supreme Court will be considering the constitutionality of several elements of the President's health care bill. This may be our best chance to overturn this offense against our health care freedoms. That's why Americans for Prosperity will be hosting a Hands Off My Health Care rally for free-market grassroots activists from across the country at the Supreme Court on March 27th. Details can be found below.

The Nationwide Rally for Religious Freedom is being held Friday, March 23 atnoon, local time, outside federal buildings, Congressional offices and historic sites across the country. The theme for the Rally is "Stand Up for Religious Freedom-Stop the HHS Mandate!"
Thousands of Americans of all faiths will be participating in these peaceful rallies, organized by the Pro-Life Action League and Citizens for a Pro-Life Society to oppose the new mandate from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) that requires all employers provide free contraceptives, sterilization and abortion-inducing drugs through their health plans, even in violation of their consciences.
Religious leaders and other public figures will speak out against the HHS Mandate at each Rally site. Holding signs reading "Stand Up for Religious Freedom" and "Stop the HHS Mandate," participants will offer hymns and prayers for our nation and pass out literature to the public about why the HHS Mandate is unconstitutional and Un-American.
The Nationwide Rally for Religious Freedom will be a peaceful, family-friendly, non-partisan, ecumenical event. For more information, please see the Rally Guidelines and Protocols, below.

From July 16 through July 18, 2012, Christians United for Israel will be holding its 7th Annual Washington Summit. We're going back to stand with Israel in our nation's capital. This year - more than ever - we need you to join us!
In the coming months, critical decisions are going to be made about Iran, Israel and the world. Finally, Washington is beginning to focus on the issue of a nuclear Iran. Many of our leaders want to confront this looming threat. But others want to keep kicking the can down the road. The debate is far from over.
- We know that when thousands of CUFI activists arrive in DC and on Capitol Hill, we can change the conversation.
- We can remind our leaders that a nuclear Iran is not only a threat to Israel, but to the US as well. And we can demonstrate to our elected officials that their constituents care enough about this issue to show up at their DC offices.
- We know that we can create a sense of immediacy that's otherwise lacking.
- We know that the more of us who show up and speak out -- the louder our voice and the greater our impact.
We stand at a critical juncture in history. Don't be silent! Don't miss your chance to make a difference! Don't pass up your opportunity to defend America and bless Israel!
Our leaders need to remember that we are watching them and we need to remember that God is watching us.
The time to speak out for Israel is now! Please register today for CUFI's 2012 DC Summit.

Thomas Jefferson: "Whensoever the general government assumes undelegated powers....a nullification of the act is the rightful remedy."

John Stossel - May 2, 2012
The Union League of Philadelphia
Luncheon: 12:00 - 1:30PM

After years of obeying our parents, we are programmed to think that anytime there is a problem, whether it's companies going bankrupt or schools keeping kids stupid, government action is the way to solve it. Using his decades of reporting, Stossel tackles how those intuitive, knee-jerk reactions lead us astray.
Central planning sounds right. It feels good. But it has nothing to do with the realities of economics and science. There is nothing that government can do that we cannot do better as free individuals - and as groups of individuals, working together voluntarily, not at the point of a gun or under threat of a fine. Without big government, our possibilities are limitless.

The Case Against Obamacare: Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress
A Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress
Building on decades of Heritage research, The Case Against Obamacare: A Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress examines 15 key provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Each report:
- Cites specific sections of the 2,700-page health care law
- Provides detailed analysis of specific Obamacare provisions
- Identifies key principles for a better way to reform health care
The unmistakable conclusion of this series is that Obamacare must be fully repealed. Congress cannot build sound market-based health care reform on the flawed foundation of this health care law. Until it can be repealed, Congress must employ its full powers authorized by the Constitution to:

Deception, betrayal, and dishonesty. These are not appealing traits in elected officials, but sadly, they aptly describe many Republican lawmakers across the country feverishly working to implement ObamaCare. Would you believe that Governor Tom Corbett is among those Republicans diligently complying with ObamaCare? Despite the fact that Pennsylvania is party to the lawsuit being heard before the Supreme Court, Tom Corbett is implementing the law in our state. ObamaCare requires that each state set up what is known as a Health Insurance Exchange. In theory, these exchanges will be one-stop online shops where individuals will pool together to purchase insurance. Without a state-created exchange, the individual mandate cannot be enforced. As in all bureaucracies, there are some major downfalls, not the least of which is the anticipated spike in the cost of insurance. Other significant issues include: - The federal government will dictate what insurers may participate
- The federal government will decide minimum coverage-potentially including such elective procedures as breast augmentation and face lifts
- The federal government will stipulate how the exchange is run
I could go on, but I'm certain you recognize the theme. The federal government will control every aspect of our health care. Yet, Governor Corbett claims that establishing CorbettCare will protect Pennsylvania citizens from undue federal regulation. The opposite is actually true. Creation of the CorbettCare Exchange does great harm and forces onerous federal regulations on our state. Governor Corbett is readily ceding state Sovereignty to the central government, and relinquishing all authority on health care matters. Our state has already requested and accepted over $33 million to set up the exchange! Merely accepting and spending federal funds requires absolute obedience to federal government regulations, and the loss of state sovereignty. A key responsibility of state officials is to protect our sovereignty, yet our legislators may be considering legislation to assist in the establishment of CorbettCare. And like obedient little children, these turncoats expect you to forget their empty promises, ignore their campaign rhetoric, and blame the Federal Government for all of the many losses you will suffer as a result. Click here to sign the petition demanding that the over $33 million in grant funds be returned and all contingency plans to submit to ObamaCare be abandoned immediately! If you'd like to tell Governor Corbett how you feel about this scheme, you can reach him at 717-787-2500. There are over 1 billion reasons why some states are establishing these exchanges-and each reason has a dollar sign attached. With over $1 billion at stake, and more than $700 million already sent to complicit states, it's easy to understand why greedy politicians have their hands out before the court can rule. These funds are being used all over the country to enrich political allies and the well-connected. Millions of your taxpayer dollars are being wasted, and you are footing the bill while they steal your freedoms. Those hundreds of millions will never be returned to our treasury-unless you and I do something to force the issue now. Tell your legislators that even if the Supreme Court fails to overturn ObamaCare, you expect them to protect your rights and jealously guard our state sovereignty by refusing to establish a state exchange. Prevailing sentiment: It's time to repeal arcane wage lawPublished: Monday, March 19, 2012, 6:09 AM By Patriot-News Editorial BoardThe Patriot-News
It's time the state Legislature repeals the prevailing-wage law. We continue to ask our local governments and school districts to cut costs and find ways to deal with decreasing state funding and shrinking tax bases, but yet we don't give them meaningful ways to do that. Who knows better what local governments need to cut costs and do more with less than the local governments themselves? And they say - from county commissioner, city, township and school board associations - repeal the prevailing-wage law. The mandate adds an extra 5 percent to 30 percent onto the costs of public school, municipal and state building projects compared with private sector costs, according to many studies nationwide. This notion of increasing the cost makes no sense in 2012. There is a prevailing-wage bill already drafted that could be taken up by the Legislature and now is certainly the time. Republican lawmakers talk about the need to end the mandate, but so far they have not brought up a bill for a vote this session. They should make that a goal for the spring.

RedState Morning Briefing
For March 20, 2012
1. Kent Conrad's Budget Folly
Paul Ryan is set to release the details of the House Republican budget resolution tomorrow. While liberals, conservatives, tea partiers, etc. will have plenty to say about the content of the budget, we must all acknowledge that Ryan has worked assiduously to formulate a coherent blueprint for a responsible budget. The same cannot be said for his counterpart in the Senate.
Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad has not produced a budget of any sort in almost 1100 days! Yet, he has the temerity to call Ryan's budget a "breach of faith.
2. Jon Bruning Also Supported Liberal Activist Thomas Perez The race for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate in Nebraska is pretty straight-forward. Don Stenberg is a genuine, lifelong conservative with a great record while his opponent, Jon Bruning, has a very questionable habit of supporting liberals and liberal ideas. Last week we learned that Bruning not only supported President Obama's controversial nomination of Eric Holder to be Attorney General, but he won't back down from that support in light of Holder's abysmal record. Now we learn that Bruning also supported known liberal activist Thomas Perez to be Assistant Attorney General and head of the DOJ's Civil Rights Division. There apparently is no end to Bruning's love of the Obama Justice Department. In a 2010 letter to Senate Judiciary Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-VT), Bruning joined with three fellow attorneys general to advocate on behalf of Perez. 3. FROM RICK SANTORUM: Past Performance Indicates Future Results Mitt Romney highlights his business experience in the private sector but tries to hide his economic record in the public sector. He was a failed one-term Governor of Massachusetts, and by any objective measure, he would receive an F for his faulty fiscal stewardship there. Indeed, his economic record would not put him in the ring as a featherweight - let alone a lightweight - in any contest. As heavyweight champ Joe Lewis once said, "He can run, but he can't hide." And in Mitt Romney's case, past performance really does indicate future results. Here's a start. 4. FROM NEWT GINGRICH: Yes, Past Performance Does Indicate Future Results Rick Santorum makes an excellent point that "past performance really does indicate future results." I completely agree-but not just "in Mitt Romney's case." Rick Santorum became the third-highest ranking Republican in the Senate in 2001 at a time when Republicans inherited balanced budgets, surpluses, and conservative, pro-life majorities. Senator Santorum and his big spending GOP allies proceeded to squander this inheritance. |

Explain that you're not going to dig it up until Obama leaves the White House in 2012, but that you're going to make a list now of the top ten excuses liberals are going to make for his abject failure. Then when you and your neighbor dig up the box, you can see how accurate your predictive powers are. Write down: 1. Racism. 2. Racism. 3. Racism. 4. Racism. 5. Racism. 6...

Fellow patriots,
As a University of Pennsylvania alum, I was appalled to read the article below in the school paper, The Daily Pennsylvanian. It looks like the MSA is on a serious roll, and I seriously want to throw up. Also, look at the links to the other MSA articles published in the ol' school paper...such as "Muslim students insist on more support." INSIST? Or else WHAT? Whatever happened to asking, petitioning, and other civil recourses? Once again, Muslims reveal that they're willing to take it to the mat at the slightest provocation.
...And the ACLU probably wonders why we refer to them as fifth-columnists.

Members of the Penn community take turns reading aloud facts about themselves written on manila folders as part of a demonstration held by the Muslim Students Association.
College freshman Jesus Fuentes walked to the middle of the semicircle on College Green clutching a manila folder.
He read a list of facts about himself and ended with, "and I'm a minority and that's all that matters to them."
Fuentes took part in today's demonstration, "NYPD Files: A Stand Against Profiling," hosted by the Muslim Students Association. It was organized in response to reports by The Associated Press that the New York Police Department was monitoring MSAs across the northeast, including at Penn.
For about an hour beginning at noon, community members took their turn reading aloud facts about themselves written on manila folders - their "NYPD File." Participants shared their favorite foods, pets and what they're studying and ended with statements such as "and I'm a Muslim and that's all the NYPD cares about."

EDITORIAL: Destroy all churchesObama silent while Saudi grand mufti targets Christianity
By THE WASHINGTON TIMES

Illustration: Islamic eggstremism by Alexander Hunter for The Washington Times
If the pope called for the destruction of all the mosques in Europe, the uproar would be cataclysmic. Pundits would lambaste the church, the White House would rush out a statement of deep concern, and rioters in the Middle East would kill each other in their grief. But when the most influential leader in the Muslim world issues a fatwa to destroy Christian churches, the silence is deafening.
On March 12, Sheik Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah, the grand mufti of Saudi Arabia, declared that it is "necessary to destroy all the churches of the region." The ruling came in response to a query from a Kuwaiti delegation over proposed legislation to prevent construction of churches in the emirate. The mufti based his decision on a story that on his deathbed, Muhammad declared, "There are not to be two religions in the [Arabian] Peninsula." This passage has long been used to justify intolerance in the kingdom. Churches have always been banned in Saudi Arabia, and until recently Jews were not even allowed in the country. Those wishing to worship in the manner of their choosing must do so hidden away in private, and even then the morality police have been known to show up unexpectedly and halt proceedings.

Monday, March 19, 2012 To: Friends & Supporters From: Gary L. Bauer COUNTDOWN TO VICTORY: 232 DAYS TO THE 2012 ELECTIONS Jewish Children Gunned Down A gunman on a motorcycle opened fire on a Jewish school in Toulouse, France, this morning killing three children and a rabbi. It was the third such attack in Toulouse in recent days. The other two targeted French soldiers. Whether the assailant ends up being a jihadist or a white neo-Nazi is beside the point. Increasingly, European Hitler admirers and Islamists are allies when it comes to hating Jews and Christians. A top Saudi cleric recently called for all churches in the Middle East to be removed. It's open season on "people of the Book." Western intelligence agencies have been warning for months that "soft targets" -- synagogues, schools, community centers in Europe and the U.S. -- are vulnerable to attack from the death worshippers. The websites of European newspapers that reported the disgusting attack immediately received dozens of comments suggesting that if you don't like Israel's foreign policy, it is understandable that you would kill Jewish children in France. Hitler is no doubt in hell, but his spirit still haunts Europe. Judeo-Christian civilization is under attack. President Obama met with British Prime Minister Cameron last week and had time to take in a basketball game. This week Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny is in town, and I am sure someone at the White House will find time to dance an Irish jig. Hours are spent by the leaders of Western nations discussing trade, pollution and energy -- all important issues to be sure. Why do I suspect that the war on our civilization and the two faiths that are its pillars aren't even on the agenda? Obama Administration Expands Mandate While the Obama Administration talks about compromises and accommodations, it upped the ante in its fight with the Catholic Church and other religious employers over its contraception mandate. The Department of Health and Human Services announced Friday that it was expanding the mandate to include sterilization surgeries. It will also require religious colleges and universities to provide surgical sterilizations in student and employee health plans. The administration's anti-life attitude was on full display when HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius testified on Capitol Hill recently. When asked to justify the cost of the contraception mandate, Sebelius replied, "The reduction in the number of pregnancies compensates for the cost of contraception." In other words, human life is a burden on the bottom line. With that kind of logic, death panels can't be too far behind. Obama's Latest Executive Order The administration was busy Friday. While HHS was expanding its contraception mandate, the White House released the latest executive order signed by President Obama. Entitled, "National Defense Resources Preparedness," the order has sparked a lot of debate in the blogosphere, spurred on by headlines like this one on the Drudge Report: "Martial Law? Obama Issues Executive Order." Reviews by two conservative opinion leaders -- here and here -- suggest that the order is mundane, merely updating previous executive orders issued by Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, which stem from legislation enacted in the 1950s. But let me comment on the obvious: People are so concerned now because we have a president who has repeatedly demonstrated his disdain for the Constitution. Obama has complained about the Constitution being a charter of negative liberties that does not specify what the government should do for you. He has whined about the system the Founding Fathers designed because it "makes it more difficult to bring about change." He has made recess appointments when Congress was not in recess. He has breached the "wall of separation" between church and state to the great detriment of religious liberty. And his Secretary of Defense recently argued that the administration didn't need congressional approval to use military force, but would act instead with international approval. With such a record, it is not surprising that many Americans would be anxious and concerned about any executive order he issues. Obama Can Be Defeated Defeating an incumbent president is never an easy task, but Barack Obama is giving voters plenty of reasons to terminate his "contract." According to a recent poll of likely voters conducted for the Washington, D.C., newspaper The Hill, voters have largely negative views of Obama's performance on major issues. Consider these findings:
- 49% of likely voters expect the Supreme Court to declare ObamaCare unconstitutional. Just 29% believe the court will uphold the law, while 22% are unsure. Asking voters to predict what the court will do was an odd way to phrase the question. For example, a recent Gallup poll found that 72% of Americans, including 56% of Democrats, felt that ObamaCare's individual mandate was unconstitutional.
- By a 10-point margin, 46% to 36%, voters think Obama's energy policies are increasing our dependence on foreign oil.
- By a whopping 38-point margin, 58% to 20%, they believe gas prices are increasing as a result of Obama's energy policies.
- 48% of voters think Obama's economic policies will increase unemployment, while just 38% think his policies will create jobs.
- Lastly, 62% of likely voters believe Obama's fiscal policies are increasing the national debt, while just 25% think Obama's fiscal policies are decreasing the debt.
A lot can change between now and November. But if voters think Obama's policies are responsible for increasing the debt, increasing unemployment and increasing their pain at the pump, they are likely to make Obama feel their pain when they go to the ballot box in 232 days! Sasha, Malia and Cee Lo When the Sandra Fluke fracas erupted, Barack Obama was quick to remind the country that he supported Fluke because he was concerned about the kind of country his daughters, Sasha and Malia, would grow up in. He did not want them to be subject to coarse rhetoric just for being good citizens and speaking their minds. While I can appreciate the sentiment, it was of course all a charade. Obama never expressed any concern about the vulgarities routinely leveled at Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann or any other conservative woman. His super PAC refuses to return Bill Maher's million-dollar donation. And I have yet to hear any official condemnation of Cee Lo Green's graphic performance [WARNING: EXPLICIT CONTENT] of his song "F--k you" at a joint fundraiser for Obama's reelection and the Democrat National Party last week. That's right. The President of the United States spoke from a stage that just minutes before had been the site of Cee Lo's obscene lyrics. Was Obama thinking about his daughters and the kind of country they will inherit during Green's obnoxious performance? Was he concerned about the coarsening of our culture then? Consider me skeptical. Whose "War On Women"? Whether it's the "war on science" or the "war on labor unions," the left never tires of painting conservatives as domestic policy war mongers. Now liberals are revisiting another fictitious conservative war, against women. The allusions to the Republican "war on women" will continue as a major Democratic campaign theme. But they're just the Democrats' way of diverting voters' attention from their own failures and injustices toward women. Read more in my weekly Human Events column.

RJC Denounces Axelrod's "Mittzkrieg" Comment, Calls On Democrats To Do The Same
Washington, D.C. (March 19, 2012) -- The Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) issued a statement today in response to a tweet from President Barack Obama's chief campaign strategist, David Axelrod, that referred to a "Mittzkrieg" of campaign ads in Illinois. "At a time when there is so much talk about the need for civility in political discourse, it is disturbing to see President Obama's top campaign advisor casually throw Nazi imagery around in reference to a Republican candidate for President. Holocaust and Nazi imagery are always inappropriate in the political arena. Axelrod should apologize for his offensive language. "We call on Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the chairman of the Democratic National Committee, to publicly rebuke Axelrod for his language. We hope that the National Jewish Democratic Council will join us in denouncing Axelrod's comment, as they have frequently denounced Holocaust imagery in politics in the past."

 | Holder Says People Need to be Brainwashed |
During a speech in 1995 Eric Holder says people need to be brainwashed into thinking negatively about guns. I guess giving guns away to drug smugglers is a part of his brainwashing plan.
Have you signed the petition? Holder needs to Go!
Petition States: As a law-abiding citizen of the United States, I support the efforts of the 100 members of Congress who are calling for Attorney General Eric Holder's resignation. During his tenure as Attorney General he repeatedly demonstrated a lack of competence, accountability and honesty -- culminating in the "Fast and Furious" gun walking scandal.
Throughout the investigation, Holder has been an obstruction to truth and justice. The American people and the nation deserve better from federal officials and to that end, I am adding my name to this petition demanding Eric Holder's immediate resignation as U.S. Attorney General.

Gordon Tomb is the Director of Communications for the PA Coalition and recently returned from Japan where he was consulting with the Japanese nuclear industry on the first anniversary of the devastating tsunami and nuclear incident. While this is a bit different from our normal missives attacking Leftists, Big Government and Republicans that have gone astray, you may find his commentary of interest: Fukushima: Responses and Implications A year after the Fukushima nuclear accident, the Japanese nuclear power industry is in disarray and the country's economy faces a bleak future. All but two of Japan's 54 nuclear power reactors are shut down and the remaining two are to be closed by summer as the government deliberates over what the country's energy supply should be. Energy lost from the idled reactors is being replaced by expensive natural gas imported from the Mideast, and Japan's trade balance has flipped overnight from a surplus to a deficit. I spent the week prior to the March 11 anniversary in Tokyo with an International Atomic Energy Agency team advising nuclear regulators on methods of communicating to the public. To the casual observer, the neat and orderly life of the Japanese goes on in a vibrant metropolis. But the halls of government buildings are darkened to save on electricity and people are worried. Newspapers carry stories daily about the recovery from the earthquake and tsunami and the nuclear meltdown that followed. The subjects include the disposal of millions of tons of debris from the natural disaster, the relocation of citizens and contamination of soil from the power plants' radioactive fallout and the tsunami's saltwater. With respect to energy supply, a major consideration is the safety of nuclear power, especially in regard to the location of plants in relation to geologic faults - the key contributing factor to the Fukushima disaster. Meanwhile, the response of the U.S. to the Fukushima accident has been measured and deliberate. The U.S. nuclear power industry figures it had a 10-year head start on its response because of actions taken following the terrorists attacks of September 11, 2001. At that time, the industry took steps to protect a plant's nuclear fuel core by installing equipment that could cool the core when usual safety systems are disabled by any mishap. The lesson learned from Japan is that plant operators need to be prepared to handle catastrophic events simultaneously at multiple reactors. (At Fukushima, three plants suffered fuel damage.) To do that, the industry is planning to establish regional centers from which equipment and supplies, such as portable pumps, could be airlifted to a site very quickly. Although the public's favorability ratings of nuclear energy understandably declined after the accident in Japan, they are recovering. Favorability decreased from 71 percent in February 2011 before Fukushima to 42 percent in April following the March accident. However, the rating had risen to 62 percent by last fall. A survey of residents who live within 10 miles of U.S. nuclear energy facilities - conducted since the Fukushima accident - showed eight in 10 favor the use of nuclear energy. Commenting on survey results, researcher Ann Bisconti says, "Support is grounded in excellent safety performance. Seventy-nine percent agree that the plant (in their community) is prepared to withstand the most extreme natural events that could occur in the region." While the development of new U.S. plants is proceeding more slowly than some would like, four advanced design reactors are scheduled to be in operation in the southeastern U.S. by 2018. And Tennessee Valley Authority has undertaken a $2.5 billion project to have its Watts Bar 2 reactor operating by 2013. More than 70 of America's 104 reactors now have renewed their operating licenses. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission issued 10 of these renewals in 2011-nine of them after the accident in Japan. Renewal applications for another 15 reactors are under review. The U.S. electricity infrastructure is aging. Over the next 20 years, the industry must invest up to $2 trillion in new power plants, transmission and distribution infrastructure, and environmental controls. Growth in nuclear energy in the United States will be modest in the near term. Yet many believe that there is no long-term alternative to a robust nuclear power industry. Indeed, author Robert Bryce, in his book "Power Hungry", identifies natural gas as merely a transition fuel to the inevitable development of a worldwide nuclear economy by the 22nd century. That may be. But as of now, reliance on nuclear remains stuck at a decades-long level of 20 percent in the U.S. and will be slashed from about 30 percent in Japan just over a year ago to zero. With both countries relying heavily on expensive and tenuous foreign energy sources, anybody hoping for peace and prosperity should be supporting the continued safe development of a domestic nuclear program and a resurgence of the Japanese industry. Note: Gordon is director of communications for the PA Coalition for Responsible Government and managed communications at Three Mile Island following the 1979 accident there.

Obama's BIG and growing problem: California will prove socialism doesn't work
Mar 19, 2012 06:13 am | Coach Collins
By Kevin "Coach" Collins
Among the many growing problems Barack Obama is facing as he tries to fool enough people into voting for him is the one coming from that weird place on the left side of the country called California.
Once a beautiful state filled with sunshine and the promise of a better life, California has been turned into a socialist gulag by Democrats who have infected her state government from top to bottom. Now it is the model for Obama's socialist dream for all of America.
Because Democrats do what Democrats will always do when handed full control of a state, California is sagging under the weight of union contracts that provide up to 90% of base pay for retirees and a flood of both peaceful and criminal illegal aliens who are draining away the last few dollars the Golden State has.
With each month California's tax revenue shortfall grows exponentially and therein lays a ... Continue Reading:Obama's BIG and growing problem: California will prove socialism doesn't work

By Bill Federer, staff writer
70-years-old, he visited his friend William Worth one evening, ate some milk and bread, read out loud from the Bible, laid down on the floor to sleep and never woke up. This was how John Chapman, better known as Johnny Appleseed, died on MARCH 18, 1845. Johnny Appleseed's father, Nathaniel, was a Minuteman who fought the British at Concord in 1775. Johnny Appleseed collected seeds from apple cider presses in western Pennsylvania and planted nurseries from the Alleghenies to central Ohio, giving thousands of seedlings to westward bound pioneers. He lived at harmony with Indians, bringing them medicinal plants. During the War of 1812, Johnny Appleseed heard the British had incited an Indian attack, so he ran 30 miles from Mansfield to Mount Vernon, Ohio, to warn settlers. Bare foot, wearing a mush pan over his eccentric long hair and an old coffee sack over his shoulders, Johnny ... Continue Reading:American Minute March 18

NAACP wants United Nations to pass sentence on voter ID law
Mar 18, 2012 01:00 pm | Coach Collins
by Doug Book, staff writer
Unable to relive the glory days when a well-placed cry of RAAAAACISM would guarantee a week of rioting and an all-out sprint by sympathetic media hacks into the eager arms of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, the NAACP has taken its whine business to a more receptive audience.
Appearing in Geneva before the United Nations Human Rights Council, the NAACP wants the organization to investigate the proposed Texas voter ID law and others already in force as the Association contends the legislation disenfranchises minorities throughout the US.
And what a stately group the NAACP has chosen to hear its grievances against a free nation as the Council includes such liberty loving icons as Cuba, China, Saudi Arabia and Mexico. Some are nations which either have no elections, don't permit females to vote or run more crooked polling adventures than Chicago ever dreamed of. By the way, Council member Mexico already ... "In the first place, it is to be remembered, that the general government is not to be charged with the whole power of making and administering laws: its jurisdiction is limited to certain enumerated objects, which concern all the members of the republic, but which are not to be attained by the separate provisions of any." --James Madison
Government
Obama loves his red tape
"[D]uring the three years of the Obama administration, 106 new major regulations have been imposed at a price tag of more than $46 billion annually -- and that's on top of nearly $11 billion in one-time implementation costs. How does this compare to the number of major regulations that were imposed under President George W. Bush? It's almost four times higher. And the cost? About five times higher. ... In December, the National Federation of Independent Business asked small-business owners to name their single biggest problem. The number-one choice, named by 19 percent of those who responded, was 'regulations and red tape.' ... And you can be sure that the weight of that burden is being shared. The costs of these regulations are passed on to consumers in the form of higher prices and limited product choices. Take the price controls that bureaucrats slapped last year on the fees that banks may charge to process debit-card transactions. It prompted banks to cancel many rewards programs and free services. And it has led to higher fees on checking accounts and credit cards. Hardly an area of our lives goes untouched by regulation. The new rules for last year alone covered many activities, including refrigerators, freezers, clothes dryers, air conditioners, and energy standards for fluorescent lights. There were new testing and labeling requirements for toys, limits on automotive emissions of 'greenhouse gases,' requirements for posting federal labor rules, and more explicit warnings for cigarette packages. The list goes on." --Heritage Foundation president Ed Feulner

"The Founding Fathers knew a government can't control the economy without controlling people. And they knew when a government sets out to do that, it must use force and coercion to achieve its purpose. So we have come to a time for choosing." --Ronald Reagan
Essential Liberty
"[Friday] was James Madison's birthday, so today let us then remember his legacy as the father of our Constitution. Madison conceived the basic outline of the Constitution before the Constitutional Convention even met. He came to the Convention steeped in the histories of ancient republics, well-versed in the political theory of the ages, and prepared with a plan for the new government. ... After the Constitution was drafted, Madison teamed up with Alexander Hamilton and John Jay to write the Federalist, which in Jefferson's words was 'the best commentary on the principles of government, which ever was written.' The key phrases we associate with the Constitution -- federalism, checks and balances, and the separation of powers -- appear not in the document itself, but in the Federalist. ... Once the new Constitution was implemented, Madison served in Congress. As chairman of the House conference committee on the Bill of Rights, he was the principle author. This position enabled him to look after a cause dear to him throughout his political career -- religious liberty. ... We don't need a slab of marble to remember James Madison. Instead, we have the Constitution that created the framework for ordered liberty and more than 200 years of stable, peaceful republican government. We have the Bill of Rights that singles out specific individual liberties that all Americans possess, especially the right to religious liberty. And, most importantly, we have his legacy on how to defend this document." --Heritage Foundation's Julia Shaw
Political Futures
"Right now, millions of adult Americans cannot legally fly on an airplane or rent a car. They're not allowed to drive one, either. And if they really need to get somewhere fast, they can't use Amtrak. When they (somehow) get there, they can't stay at a hotel. If they don't have a social security card, they cannot get one without considerable time and effort. In most cases they cannot rent an apartment, take the SAT or enroll in college. They can't buy cigarettes or alcohol, even though they are of legal age. They might be able to get credit cards, but in many instances they will not be able to use them. And they almost certainly won't be able to get a bank account or a business license or even cash a check. ... And yet the Democratic Party wants to do next to do nothing to fix that. I'm talking, of course, about people without proper identification. ... What astounds me is the almost entirely unremarked-upon complacency of liberals who seem to think it's OK that millions of Americans (by their own reckoning) remain locked out of the modern economy, but who are horrified by the idea that states might actually give these same people new forms of identification -- for free. ... The crisis is not that these people will be asked to prove who they are when they vote. The crisis is that there are ... millions upon millions of Americans who can't prove who they are at all." --columnist Jonah Goldberg
Culture
"Last month, at a Raeford, N.C., elementary school, a teacher confiscated the lunch of a 5-year-old girl because it didn't meet U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines and therefore was deemed nonnutritious. ... But whether her lunch was nutritious or not is not the issue. The issue is governmental usurpation of parental authority. In a number of states, pregnant teenage girls may be given abortions without the notification or the permission of parents. The issue is neither abortion nor whether a pregnant teenager should have an abortion. The issue is this: What gives the government the authority to usurp parental authority? Part of the problem is that people who act as instruments of government do not pay a personal price for usurping parental authority. The reason is Americans, unlike Americans of yesteryear, have become timid and, as such, come to accept all manner of intrusive governmental acts. Can you imagine what a rugged American, such as one portrayed by John Wayne, would have done to a government tyrant who confiscated his daughter's lunch or facilitated her abortion without his permission? ... Americans have become compliant in nation-crippling ways." --economist Walter E. Williams
Insight
"The goal of the 'liberals' -- as it emerges from the record of the past decades -- was to smuggle this country into welfare statism by means of single, concrete, specific measures, enlarging the power of the government a step at a time, never permitting these steps to be summed up into principles, never permitting their direction to be identified or the basic issue to be named. Thus, statism was to come, not by vote or by violence, but by slow rot -- by a long process of evasion and epistemological corruption, leading to a fait accompli." --author and philosopher Ayn Rand (1905-1982)
Opinion in Brief
"There is a war against women. ... [T]he real war is against women in American public life, in politics and media most obviously, but in other spheres as well. In this war, leaders who are women are publicly demeaned and diminished based on the fact that they are women. ... But to see this only through a left-right prism is to miss the problem. The problem is the coarsening of discourse in public life. ... Suddenly, by the mid 1990s, there was a new public place of complete freedom. Suddenly everyone -- in blog posts, on personal websites, on news sites, in comment threads -- had an equal voice and was operating on an equal field. The Internet became ... a bit of a Wild West. It was exciting and invigorating, a new frontier, but it held dangers, too, and darkness. When anyone can say anything, anyone will. ... The Internet is a breakthrough in human freedom. But over the past 20 years it has had a certain leveling effect. It hypes the cheap and glitzy, it reduces the worthiness of a thought to the number of clicks it gets. It has helped set a new cultural tone." --columnist Peggy Noonan
Faith & Family
"A new generation of ethicists has begun making the case in favor of so-called 'after birth abortion.' Like Princeton's Peter Singer, they believe that infants are not 'persons' entitled to the right to life. Why? Because infants, while human, are not 'self-aware.' And these ethicists assert that human beings who lack self-awareness are not 'persons' and, if they are not persons, then they have no independent moral status, no automatic right to life, and no claim to the protections of law. The question of whether a newborn child would be allowed to live or die, the 'ethicists' argue, would depend solely on the wishes of their parents. The same reasons that might 'justify' an abortion at three months gestation would justify an 'after-birth abortion' -- i.e., the parents can kill a child who is inconvenient, disabled, the 'wrong' gender, or simply unwanted. This new thinking shreds the quality-of-life faįade that's often used to justify the abortion of a handicapped child: the only 'quality of life' that matters here is that of the parents. ... This is our future: an infant's claim on life will be no greater than that of a pre-born child -- non-existent. More precisely, this is our future unless we fight back-loudly." --columnist Rebecca Hagelin

"I worked for the Department of Revenue in my state for 15 years, after my retirement from the U.S. Navy. I was firmly convinced the 'Marketplace Fairness Act' was needed to level the playing field and to provide more revenue for my state. However, after reconsidering based on the evidence of Alexander's position, I am now firmly opposed to this legislation. Thanks for the eye opener!"
"I agree with Mark Alexander's assertion that the so-called 'Market Place Fairness Act,' the Republican plan to tax all Internet purchases, amounts to a huge tax increase that will only further fuel our bloated government, and if 'fairness' is really the objective the proposal should be revenue neutral. But I don't understand why he would assert that getting information on a product at a retail store and then going online to buy it is 'morally wrong.' I have no obligation to buy the more expensive item from the retailer."
Editor's Reply: As a small business owner who has substantial overhead associated with our Patriot Post operations, I believe that shopping for products at a retail store, having an employee of that retailer help you evaluate a product in three dimensions, and then leaving the store and purchasing that product online for a better price -- in part because the online seller has much lower overhead than a retail operation -- is tantamount to theft. In other words, Best Buy should not be the showroom for Amazon. It may not be legally wrong, but I do believe this is morally wrong, and personally, I make every effort to place moral integrity above what is legally required. Indeed, I do think free enterprise is subject to moral obligations, though I certainly do not support legislating such obligations to the detriment of unbridled commerce.

"As a Navy veteran and military historian, I believe the Navy should revert back to the original way of naming ships of the line. As such, battleships would be named for states of the union (USS New Jersey), carriers for American military battles (USS Coral Sea), cruisers for American cities (USS Boise), destroyers named after naval/Marine heroes (USS Fletcher), and submarines named for fish (USS Wahoo). This has been a time honored tradition in the U.S. Navy and should be re-instituted." --Steve

"Nothing but a direct order from the White House could have persuaded Maj. Gen. Mark Gurganus, the senior Marine in Afghanistan, to disarm his men on the battlefield, even for an audience with Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta. ... He said he wanted the Marines to look just like their Afghan partners. ... Marines are never parted from their weapons, whether they're on their way to the latrine, the mess tent, or to look up the chaplain. ... The Taliban position on peace is clear and unchanging; it would behead Americans wherever it found them. So much for diplomacy. Mr. Panetta is back in Washington, the brave experiment with gun control is over and their weapons were returned to the Marines. Morning Bell: Obamacare Is A Cancer That Must Go
It has been two years this week since the passage of Obamacare, and the firestorm it ignited has not abated but only spread and intensified. Most Americans have already made up their minds, understanding that until it is completely removed, the cancer of Obamacare threatens not only our healthcare and our economy but also our most fundamental liberties and constitutional self-government.
Next week, the Supreme Court will hear arguments on its constitutionality, bringing this intolerable act to the forefront of the American mind once again and reminding the country that the issue of Obamacare is by no means settled.
Nothing the Administration has done has made this law more palatable, quite the opposite, and none of the PR events the White House has planned for this week is likely to change people's minds.
Nor will Obamacare likely be settled by the Supreme Court. As with such divisive questions in the past, this question will be settled by the American people who have throughout this failed episode signaled loud and clear that they want the whole monstrosity repealed once and for all.

Four shot dead at Jewish school in France; gun used in earlier attacks
A gunman is on the loose after opening fire at a Jewish school in France, killing at least four people, including three children. NBC's Michelle Kosinski reports.
By msnbc.com staff, NBC News and news services, March 19, 2012, http://worldnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/03/19/10753032-four-shot-dead-at-jewish-school-in-france-gun-used-in-earlier-attacks
Updated at 12:50 p.m. ET: Three children and a rabbi were shot dead by a gunman at a Jewish school in Toulouse, France, on Monday, and a police source said the bullets fired from one of the two guns used match those in earlier attacks that killed three French soldiers.
Concerns emerged about a possible serial killer with racist motivations.
"Everything leads one to believe that these were racist and anti-Semitic acts," Toulouse Mayor Pierre Cohen said on BFM-TV.
The shooter fled the private Ozar Hatorah school on a black scooter, NBC News reported, citing Le Figaro newspaper; other reports described the vehicle as a motorbike.
French media said that security was being tightened at all Jewish schools in the country.
Religious minorities and issues of race have emerged as a prominent issue in France's current presidential campaign. The soldiers killed and injured were of North African and French Caribbean origin.
Toulouse prosecutor Michel Valet said the gunman killed a 30-year old Hebrew teacher, his two children aged three and six, and an 8-year-old girl, the daughter of the school's principal. A 17-year-old was seriously wounded.
"The attacker was shooting people outside the school, then pursued children into the school, before fleeing on a heavy motorbike," Valet told reporters.
The assailant used a heavy-caliber firearm and another weapon. At least 15 shots were fired.
'I did not find my son' Parents who witnessed the incident -- which happened shortly before 8 a.m. local time (3 a.m. ET), as children were being dropped off at the school -- described the scene.
"I saw two people dead in front of the school, an adult and a child ... Inside, it was a vision of horror, the bodies of two small children," a distraught father told RTL radio, Reuters reported.
"I did not find my son, apparently he fled when he saw what happened. How can they attack something as sacred as a school, attack children only sixty centimeters [about two feet] tall?'' he added.
"It was terrible ... It felt like it lasted a long time," Charles Ben Semoun, a parent of a child at the school, told i-tele television, the Bloomberg news service said.
Monday's shootings come days after three soldiers were killed in two separate shootings in the same area by a man who also escaped from the scene by scooter.
On March 10, a gunman on a motorbike shot and killed a paratrooper in Toulouse. Last Thursday, a masked gunman on a motorbike opened fire on three uniformed paratroopers at a bank machine in Montauban, about 30 miles from Toulouse, killing two and critically wounding the other.
Sarkozy: 'Barbaric' "This barbaric act cannot win ... We will find this killer. We must practice calm and caution," French President Nicolas Sarkozy said as he rushed to Toulouse.
World Jewish Congress President Ronald Lauder said in a statement that "Jews everywhere in the world are weeping in sorry and disgust in the face of this despicable terrorist attack."
"Targeting children is a particularly sick and vile act, and nothing can justify it. This attack is an attack on all of us," he added.
Israel's foreign ministry also expressed dismay.
"We are horrified by this attack and we trust the French authorities to shed full light on this tragedy and bring the perpetrators of these murders to justice," Israeli foreign ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor told the AFP news agency.

Breitbart's example: get on offense and stay there
WES VERNON, RA ANALYST - This column - here, now, and forever - rejects any and all invitations for membership in a Denounce Club. The 'inevitability' vote

Romney in Puerto Rico: a case study in political pandering
DAILY CALLER - In Puerto Rico, for the price of 20 delegates, Mitt Romney sold out his conservative principles. Presidential power to kill?
STEPHANIE HESSLER - For the first time, President Obama's Justice Department has attempted to explain the administration's policy on targeted killings of U.S. citizens. Attorney General Eric H. Obama's healthcare claims unravel
DAVID LIMBAUGH - President Barack Obama said, "The package we've put together" will "start bending the cost curve on healthcare" and "cut the deficit by a trillion dollars." Even a sympathetic Congressional Budget Office has finally put the nail in the coffin of that howler. At the time Obama made the claim, we all knew it was specious, and study after study came out showing just how fraudulent it was. KONY filmmaker goes on bizarre, public naked rampage
In a truly bizarre moment, director Jason Russell (who made the viral KONY video), got butt naked and hit the streets of San Diego. Media asking all the wrong questions: Now it's Romney's dog story
For weeks the media has relentlessly repeated the contraception story - they invented it and attack GOP candidates for constantly talking about it. Glenn has the story.

Eric Holder is a creepy dude
Video has surfaced from the archives of Eric Holder talking about how he's told school boards that they should 'brainwash' kids into believing guns are bad. The video is from 1995 and is quite disturbing, not just from a 2nd Amendment standpoint - but even more so that he views American children as little programmable robots. Glenn has the story on radio.
Elle Macpherson: Of course I love Obama - I'm socialist!
Just when you thought it was impossible to tarnish the impeccable beauty that is Elle Macpherson, she goes and happily admits she's a socialist. Funny thing is how casually she answered this question - as if it were ridiculous to think Obama was anything but delightful to a socialist. Glenn reacts to Elle's comments.
Stunning warning from former citizen of Communism
Glenn played the stunning audio from a woman who is warning that America is heading down the same path she once saw many many years ago living under communism. Warning signs like government takeovers of healthcare, large sections of the auto industry, the banks, etc have her worried America is about to slip into a system that never works.

Slashed safety net? Not so much says ...Nancy Pelosi's daughter? You wouldn't expect Nancy Pelosi's daughter to be the one to expose welfare fraud - most of the people on the left are more than pleased with a nation of dependents. Senate may decide this week if illegal aliens from Ireland deserve U.S. jobs ahead of unemployed Americans TELL YOUR SENATORS WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT THAT Imagine if lobbyists from the Ukraine, or the Congo, or Indonesia, or Peru, were telling the U.S. Senate that despite high U.S. unemployment the U.S. government has a special obligation to give more work visas to the workers of their countries. Is it any less silly or less offensive if the lobbyists are from Ireland and a lot of Americans happened to have just celebrated St. Patick's Day? But that is what the Ireland lobbyists are asking, and what something close to a majority of Senators are considering granting this week. ACTION No. 1 -- FREE FAX: Click here to see fax messages you can send over our website to both of your Senators. Tell them any new jobs that open up ought to go to unemployed Americans. https://www.numbersusa.com/faxes?ID=13857 Why do I say "illegal aliens" in the headline? Well, workers in Ireland would also be eligible for the new work visas being proposed. But the main impetus for this strange push for special Irish work visas comes because so many workers have come from Ireland on temporary work visas or tourist visas and then over-stayed those visas and become illegal aliens. The economy is bad in Ireland, so these illegal Irish aliens have their lobbyists working to create more visas to allow them not only to stay but to work legally again. Why are these visas such a threat when there aren't that many of them? Besides the ugly principle that would establish Irish workers as somehow more important than workers from any other country, the passage of this Irish bill would set up a string of demands from one ethnic lobby after another demanding the same privileges. Just like all pork barrel activity, passage of the Irish bill will set up a never-ending string of opportunities for special interests to the detriment of the American public. Please stand up for the public interest today and send those faxes. ACTION No. 2 -- Join the Conversation: You can join others in conversation about this topic beneath my blog on the website at: www.NumbersuSA.com The conversation is already underway, and here are a couple of the interesting comments: From MD2510 of MA : Here in MA, there is shameless pandering to the Irish lobby among both D and R politicians. Not unlike other ethnic groups demanding special privileges. It is fine to celebrate your heritage but quite another to demand special visas for people from your (or your consituent's) ancestral country. The latter is UnAmerican no matter who does it. From John4110 of MI : It seems that the special provisions for the Irish will give support for those that assert that our national immigration policy is racist. Here's my blog that I posted Sunday: A patriotic St. Pat's Day wish -- No more pandering to illegal Irish taking Americans' jobs By Roy Beck The arguments for special work visas for Irish workers that may come to a vote in the Senate any day are among the most offensive and baseless that I've ever seen. As engorged and harmful as is our current level of foeign workers, can you imagine what would happen if every nationality asked for the same favors that the Irish lobby is asking in this bill? Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) -- in a tough re-election bid this year -- apparently thinks he must pander to American voters of Irish descent by promising to put more U.S. citizens out of work by giving 10,500 new work permits to Irish citizens. And within the Irish blogophere, it is pretty clear that a primary recipient for those new work permits are Irish citizens who managed to come to the U.S. legally at some point and have over-stayed their visas. Yes, illegal aliens just as surely as if they had walked across the U.S.-Mexico border. Sen. Brown's Democratic opponent, Elizabeth Warren, apparently has the same low regard for Irish Americans and is pushing the same idea that these Americans have more loyalty to citizens of Ireland than to unemployed citizens of the United States. Did anybody notice that this isn't the 1860s? What next, New York City draft riots? There had been a powerful push to pass this form of ethnic pork-barreling before St. Patrick's Day. Thankfully, enough thoughtul Senate heads prevailed to prevent that kind of embarrassing exclusionary ethno-centric spectacle. Neither Brown nor Warren seems to be aware that 20 million Americans of all nationality backgrounds either can't find a job or are forced to work part-time. But they don't hear the suffering of Americans over the sound of the Irish lobby pipers. They only hear the voices again demanding special favors for the Irish because they are . . . ? I can't think of a logical or non-offensive explanation. While a Massachusetts Senator, John F. Kennedy led the way to the immigration act eventually passed in 1995 that ended nationality-based preferences that had the effect of racial and ethnic discrimination in our immigration system. But the Irish lobby has spent more than two decades arguing that the white Irish ought to have special privileges. The worst example of this was in 1990 when JFK's brother Sen. Teddy Kennedy (D-Mass.) created the Visa Lottery that raffles off permanent work permits and paths to U.S. citizenship every year. The reason we are stuck at present with this insanity is that it was a package that Teddy used to help illegal alien Irish already in this country to legalize their status. For the first three years, 40 percent of the lottery slots were reserved for the Irish. So, the two people competing for Teddy's old Senate seat, are now falling all over themselves to walk in Teddy's footsteps and dishonor the honorable principles of Sen. JOHN Kennedy. Antoinette Kelly, a staff writer for IrishCentral.com, reports today that Republican incumbent Sen. Scott Brown's office claims his proposal is vital to the Irish community because "for decades, the Irish have been unfairly shut out by our immigration laws." Kelly reports that Democrat Elizabeth Warren "agrees" and that many skilled Irish cannot access the U.S. because of the current system. Again, I ask, do these candidates think it is the 1860s? "Unfairly shut out?" What are they talking about? There are no rules that pick on the Irish or that put Irish applicants in an inferior position compared to applicants from other parts of the world. All I can see is that Brown and Warren and the Irish lobby are mad because the Irish don't get SPECIAL treatment that discriminates against everybody else in the world. I can't imagine that most Americans of Irish descent think like this. Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York says he has lined up 53 Democratic Senators to support this ethno-centric special favor, even though his own bill to give preferential treatment to the Irish only has four cosponsors. He has been battling for amnesties and increased foreign workers his whole career. You know that he has no desire to stop with the irish. I have no doubt that he wants this Irish bill to pass so he can come back and claim the discrimination that it truly represents as a reason to then push through one bill after another favoring first this ethnic group and then that one. Just like all pork barrel activity, passage of the Brown bill will set up a never-ending string of opportunities for special interests at the detriment of the American public. What makes any of these ethno-nationalist lobbies think that the government of the American people owes jobs to them instead of to Americans of all ethnicities who are already standing in line? Well, what makes any special interest seek selfish gain over the public interest? Only when the public demands a higher standard will these shameful legislative efforts cease.
