HOLDER SAYS NO RIGHT TO POSSESS GUNS
TAKES 10 SECONDS .... DO IT AND PASS IT ON Own a Gun?
Please Keep This Moving
Guess they were not happy with the poll results the first time so USA today is running another one... Vote now Attorney General, Eric Holder, has already said this is one of his major issues. He does not believe the 2nd Amendment gives individuals the right to bear arms. This takes literally 2 clicks to complete. Please vote on this gun issue question with USA Today. It will only take a few seconds of your time. Then pass the link on to all the pro- gun folks you know. Hopefully these results will be published later this month. This upcoming year will become critical for gun owners with the Supreme Court's accepting the District of Columbia case against the right for individuals to bear arms. Here's what you need to do: First - vote on this one. Second- launch it to other folks and have THEM vote - then we will see if the results get published. Click below to vote. USATODAY.com

Dear Fellow Patriot,
We have a choice in this years Pennsylvania Senatorial election that will have far reaching consequences for Pennsylvania.
Roger Howard is challenging Dominic Pileggi in the 9th district. Dominic has never been challenged and with the lack of any reformative legislation coming from Harrisburg along with the redistricting fiasco, he is very vulnerable. Can you imagine replacing the third most powerful Republican in Harrisburg?
Right now what stands in our way is the ability to get the message out. We are ordering yard signs and if we had an extra $1000.00 we could double what we are ordering.
Can you make a small donation of $10, $25 or $50. It would make a big difference. Please go to the web site now

Constitution 101: The Meaning and History of the Constitution
Available to you, your family, your friends, and all Americans.
Weeks One & Two Now Available - Sign Up TODAY!
 | Dr. Larry P. Arnn |
Over the years, many friends of Hillsdale, those who never attended college here, have said to me: "Dr. Arnn, I wish I could take Hillsdale's Constitution course!"
In response to these requests, this past year, for the first time ever, Hillsdale College offered the "Introduction to the Constitution" lecture series at no charge. Frankly, I wasn't sure what sort of a response a course like this would have.
That's why I was excited to see that YOU and almost 200,000 other people from all over the United States registered for "Introduction to the Constitution."
Thank you very much for registering and participating. I hope you learned a lot from the series.
I was thrilled, not only by the response, but at what it indicates: Americans are willing and eager learn about the Constitution and to defend the principles of liberty that made America so prosperous!
And this re-awakening of national interest in the Constitution comes not a minute too soon.
Now, for the first time ever, Hillsdale College is offering a no-cost 10-week online Constitution course based on the class Hillsdale College students must complete for graduation:
"Constitution 101: The Meaning and History of the Constitution"
This course on the U.S. Constitution is available online at no charge to anyone who wants to understand and defend the timeless principles of liberty upon which our nation was founded!
I am proud to be teaching part of our NEW "Constitution 101" course and hope YOU will be one of my students again!
"Constitution 101" begins on February 20, 2012, and concludes the week of April 30. It will cover such topics as the Declaration of Independence and its connection to the Constitution, how the Constitution is structured to protect individual liberty and ensure good government, the crisis of constitutional government faced by Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War, and modern challenges to the Constitution during the "Progressive" era.
It is my honor to teach the first class, "The American Mind," and the final class, "The Recovery of the Constitution." All of the classes will be taught by Hillsdale College professors - the top teachers in their field and the same ones who instruct our students here on Hillsdale's campus.
Classes listed in Blue have been posted on YouTube and can be viewed by clicking on the link for each class below.

The U.S. Constitution
A Reader
Divided into eleven sections with introductions by members of Hillsdale's Politics Department faculty, readings cover the principles of the American founding, the framing and structure of the Constitution, the secession crisis and the Civil War, the Progressive rejection of the Constitution, and the building of the administrative state based on Progressive principles.
Editorial Note: Just received a couple of copies of the reader. Not just a short course pamphlet this; with the heft of 'Atlas Shrugged', it is well worth getting whether or not you choose to take the course.
About Hillsdale College
Hillsdale College is a private, coeducational, residential, liberal arts college with approximately 1,400 students. Founded in 1844, the College remains, in the words of its Articles of Association, "grateful to God for the inestimable blessings resulting from the presence of civil and religious liberty and intelligent piety" in our nation, and dedicated to "the diffusion of sound learning" that is "essential to the perpetuity of these blessings."
Hillsdale College is distinguished by its rigorous core curriculum, by its principled rejection of federal and state taxpayer funding, and by the pledge of its Board of Trustees to resists any attempts by the government to regulate its internal affairs. Hillsdale College promotes the principles of liberty nationwide through its national speech digest, Imprimis, which has a monthly circulation of over 2 million, and through several outreach programs. In 2008, Hillsdale launched its Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship in Washington, D.C. The College will also launch the Hillsdale Graduate School of Statesmanship in fall 2012. |

The bad news is last month some well intentioned political activist announced a cut-off date for signing up co-sponsors for Rep. Rose Marie Swanger's American Law's for American Courts (HB 2029) in an effort to inject some urgency into the effort.
What it resulted in was an interruption of the campaign to encourage those Representatives not yet signed on as co-sponsors to join with those Legislators who have already recognized the death by smothering threat to our Constitution.
The good news is there is no cut-off date for adding co-sponsors and we are once again asking your readers to contact their representatives and ask they join the battle.
There are only three Representatives from Bucks who are co-sponsors, Representatives Clymer, Petri and Quinn and we thank them for showing their colors.
But that leaves seven more Representatives who appear to be still standing on the sidelines as the battle for our existence as a free people is joined.
Lame rhetoric? I'm afraid not. If you do not understand the threat we face from 'peaceful' opportunists like CAIR, visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bucksafa11info/messages or contact me at bucksafa11@yahoo.com to schedule an Open the Koran presentation for you and your friends.
If you're ready to help, visit www.actforamerica.org and sign on as a chapter leader. It's free and the people there are friendly and helpful. Your help is needed. Every township, every neighborhood needs an Act! for America chapter leader.
But before you do anything, if your Pennsylvania Representative has not yet ssigned on as co-sponsor, urge her/him to do so and ask what is it that prevents him/her from doing so.
Help Pennsylvania be counted among those States that have shown the courage to face off with the enemies who have plainly stated their aim is to destroy our Nation. Our laws have worked just fine since colonial times. What is needed are politicians who respect them. And you know whose job it is to remind them of that.
Thanks,
John Ryan

CAIR's Fight Against Pennsylvania Foreign Law Bill
by David J. Rusin FrontPage Magazine February 13, 2012
http://www.islamist-watch.org/9192/cair-fight-against-pennsylvania-foreign-law-bill
Resistance to a new bill aimed at limiting foreign law in Pennsylvania courts serves as a case study of how Islamists and their allies operate: peddling falsehoods about Shari'a, painting Muslims as victims, and denying that anyone seeks to institutionalize aspects of Islamic law - even as they vigorously promote that very agenda. With similar legislation being debated across the U.S., understanding their tactics is critical.
At issue in Pennsylvania is House Bill (HB) 2029, which stipulates that "a tribunal shall not consider a foreign legal code or system which does not grant ... the same fundamental liberties, rights and privileges" as guaranteed by the federal and state constitutions. Introduced in November, it follows the American Laws for American Courts (ALAC) model and makes no mention of Shari'a. A preliminary memo sent to legislators last June in the name of Rep. RoseMarie Swanger, HB 2029's chief sponsor, does highlight Islamic law, but she later said that it had been circulated accidentally. Regardless, concerns about Shari'a are warranted due to its many provisions that conflict with the standards of American jurisprudence. For example, it disadvantages women in terms of inheritance, divorce, child custody, and other areas of family law. Shari'a already has shaped numerous cases nationwide, including in Pennsylvania, where one state court decided how assets should be distributed according to Islam.
Pushback against HB 2029 has been led by the Philadelphia office of the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-PA) and was punctuated by an interfaith press conference (video here) at CAIR-PA headquarters on December 14. The overall campaign reflects CAIR's usual recipe of distortion, victimology, and contradiction between words and deeds.
Attacks on bills like HB 2029 begin by sowing confusion about Shari'a. Because Islamic law encompasses virtually every facet of life - governing personal activities such as eating and worship, but also forming an oppressive social and legal structure - suit-and-tie Islamists work to emphasize its unthreatening pieces whenever possible. CAIR-PA executive director Moein Khawaja's suggestion that Shari'a should worry Pennsylvanians no more than halal gyros is a fine example of this technique.

March 23rd, 2012, marks an important and unfortunate anniversary. It will have been exactly two years since President Obama forced his unpopular health care takeover onto the American people. Americans for Prosperity has educated the public about the dangers of government interference in the health care market for the past several years, and now the Supreme Court is set to hear arguments and make a ruling on that very issue. As you are most likely aware, the U.S. Supreme Court will be considering the constitutionality of several elements of the President's health care bill. This may be our best chance to overturn this offense against our health care freedoms. That's why Americans for Prosperity will be hosting a Hands Off My Health Care rally for free-market grassroots activists from across the country at the Supreme Court on March 27th. Details can be found below.

Campaign Training Seminar
March 16-17, 2012 ~ Harrisburg, PA
Voters today - perhaps more than at any time in recent history - are yearning for principled candidates committed to standing strong for the timeless values upon which our country was founded and standing stronger against the politics-as-usual establishment working to undermine those values.
The Winning Campaigns Training Seminar shows principled candidates, campaign staff, and grassroots activists how to run winning campaigns without compromising their values - with a special emphasis placed on running and winning primaries. You'll learn:
- Secrets campaign pros use to develop winning strategies.
- How to raise all the money you need to win even if you've never raised money before.

The Nationwide Rally for Religious Freedom is being held Friday, March 23 atnoon, local time, outside federal buildings, Congressional offices and historic sites across the country. The theme for the Rally is "Stand Up for Religious Freedom-Stop the HHS Mandate!"

Sunday, February 26th, 2012 254 Days until the 2012 General Election |
To Everyone Who Helped with Verify the Recall - Thank You!
Together We Conducted An Independent, Citizen-Led Audit of EPIC Scale
Proving That We the PeopleWill Stand in the Gap of Government to Uphold Election Integrity
Here's What You Accomplished IN 22 DAYS:
- 14,000+ volunteers joined in from 49 states
- 3.5 MILLION records were entered
- 192.2 GB total bandwidth
- 23,529,926 total requests
- 481,002 were attempted threats to the site
We proved that the unions had nowhere near the 1,000,000 signatures they touted - and that of the actual signatures turned in, at least 25% and possibly up to 40%, had critical errors.
Did the unions legitimately compile the 520,000 signatures necessary to trigger a recall election? We'll let the public decide.
Our goal was neither to support or negate the outcome - our goal was to uphold the integrity of the process.
Reports will be posted online on Monday, February 27th. You can check them out here.

From July 16 through July 18, 2012, Christians United for Israel will be holding its 7th Annual Washington Summit. We're going back to stand with Israel in our nation's capital. This year - more than ever - we need you to join us!
In the coming months, critical decisions are going to be made about Iran, Israel and the world. Finally, Washington is beginning to focus on the issue of a nuclear Iran. Many of our leaders want to confront this looming threat. But others want to keep kicking the can down the road. The debate is far from over.
- We know that when thousands of CUFI activists arrive in DC and on Capitol Hill, we can change the conversation.
- We can remind our leaders that a nuclear Iran is not only a threat to Israel, but to the US as well. And we can demonstrate to our elected officials that their constituents care enough about this issue to show up at their DC offices.
- We know that we can create a sense of immediacy that's otherwise lacking.
- We know that the more of us who show up and speak out -- the louder our voice and the greater our impact.
We stand at a critical juncture in history. Don't be silent! Don't miss your chance to make a difference! Don't pass up your opportunity to defend America and bless Israel!
Our leaders need to remember that we are watching them and we need to remember that God is watching us.
The time to speak out for Israel is now! Please register today for CUFI's 2012 DC Summit.

Gloria Carlineo, Republican candidate for State Representative in the 29th legislative district, today announced that her campaign would appeal a Judge's decision that her ballot access petitions had only 294 of the 300 registered Republican signatures required to be placed on the ballot for the April 24th primary. Liberal union endorsed incumbent Bernie O'Neill is unwilling to face the Republican voters of his district because he will need to defend his record of representing the interests of the party and union bosses over the interests of taxpayers. We clearly have over 300 registered Republican signatures, however, Bernie O'Neill's party boss lawyers want to use obscure technicalities to invalidate what are good signatures. For example, these lawyers have argued that many signatures are "bad" because the signer left out the year when they entered the date of signing. It is obvious that these signatures were signed during the correct time period. It is clear that O'Neill will do whatever it takes to not have to run in a Republican primary against a fiscal conservative. Andy Raffle Campaign Manager Goria 2012

Thomas Jefferson: "Whensoever the general government assumes undelegated powers....a nullification of the act is the rightful remedy."
But what IS nullification? How does it happen and work? Since September 2010, the Tenth Amendment Center has been hosting a national tour to educate and activate people on this topic. People are learning the constitutional basis, when it's been used in history, and how it is happening around the country and how YOU can stop DC right in your own state.

John Stossel - May 2, 2012
The Union League of Philadelphia
Luncheon: 12:00 - 1:30PM

After years of obeying our parents, we are programmed to think that anytime there is a problem, whether it's companies going bankrupt or schools keeping kids stupid, government action is the way to solve it. Using his decades of reporting, Stossel tackles how those intuitive, knee-jerk reactions lead us astray.
Central planning sounds right. It feels good. But it has nothing to do with the realities of economics and science. There is nothing that government can do that we cannot do better as free individuals - and as groups of individuals, working together voluntarily, not at the point of a gun or under threat of a fine. Without big government, our possibilities are limitless.

The Case Against Obamacare: Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress
A Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress
Building on decades of Heritage research, The Case Against Obamacare: A Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress examines 15 key provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Each report:
- Cites specific sections of the 2,700-page health care law
- Provides detailed analysis of specific Obamacare provisions
- Identifies key principles for a better way to reform health care
The unmistakable conclusion of this series is that Obamacare must be fully repealed. Congress cannot build sound market-based health care reform on the flawed foundation of this health care law. Until it can be repealed, Congress must employ its full powers authorized by the Constitution to:

Deception, betrayal, and dishonesty. These are not appealing traits in elected officials, but sadly, they aptly describe many Republican lawmakers across the country feverishly working to implement ObamaCare. Would you believe that Governor Tom Corbett is among those Republicans diligently complying with ObamaCare? Despite the fact that Pennsylvania is party to the lawsuit being heard before the Supreme Court, Tom Corbett is implementing the law in our state. ObamaCare requires that each state set up what is known as a Health Insurance Exchange. In theory, these exchanges will be one-stop online shops where individuals will pool together to purchase insurance. Without a state-created exchange, the individual mandate cannot be enforced. As in all bureaucracies, there are some major downfalls, not the least of which is the anticipated spike in the cost of insurance. Other significant issues include: - The federal government will dictate what insurers may participate
- The federal government will decide minimum coverage-potentially including such elective procedures as breast augmentation and face lifts
- The federal government will stipulate how the exchange is run
I could go on, but I'm certain you recognize the theme. The federal government will control every aspect of our health care. Yet, Governor Corbett claims that establishing CorbettCare will protect Pennsylvania citizens from undue federal regulation. The opposite is actually true. Creation of the CorbettCare Exchange does great harm and forces onerous federal regulations on our state. Governor Corbett is readily ceding state Sovereignty to the central government, and relinquishing all authority on health care matters. Our state has already requested and accepted over $33 million to set up the exchange! Merely accepting and spending federal funds requires absolute obedience to federal government regulations, and the loss of state sovereignty. A key responsibility of state officials is to protect our sovereignty, yet our legislators may be considering legislation to assist in the establishment of CorbettCare. And like obedient little children, these turncoats expect you to forget their empty promises, ignore their campaign rhetoric, and blame the Federal Government for all of the many losses you will suffer as a result. Click here to sign the petition demanding that the over $33 million in grant funds be returned and all contingency plans to submit to ObamaCare be abandoned immediately! If you'd like to tell Governor Corbett how you feel about this scheme, you can reach him at 717-787-2500. There are over 1 billion reasons why some states are establishing these exchanges-and each reason has a dollar sign attached. With over $1 billion at stake, and more than $700 million already sent to complicit states, it's easy to understand why greedy politicians have their hands out before the court can rule. These funds are being used all over the country to enrich political allies and the well-connected. Millions of your taxpayer dollars are being wasted, and you are footing the bill while they steal your freedoms. Those hundreds of millions will never be returned to our treasury-unless you and I do something to force the issue now. Tell your legislators that even if the Supreme Court fails to overturn ObamaCare, you expect them to protect your rights and jealously guard our state sovereignty by refusing to establish a state exchange. For Liberty, Deb Wells Interim State Coordinator Alabama Campaign for Liberty P.S. After you sign the petition demanding our state return all ObamaCare Exchange grant funds, please pass this message along to your contacts!

Justice Department files objection to Texas voter ID law
Published March 12, 2012 | FoxNews.com
The Obama administration has once more gone too far in its "overreach," Texas Gov. Rick Perry said Monday, after the Justice Department objected to the state's new voter photo ID law, saying Texas failed to demonstrate that the law is not discriminatory by design against Hispanic voters.
"Texas has a responsibility to ensure elections are fair, beyond reproach and accurately reflect the will of voters. The DOJ has no valid reason for rejecting this important law, which requires nothing more extensive than the type of photo identification necessary to receive a library card or board an airplane. Their denial is yet another example of the Obama administration's continuing and pervasive federal overreach," Perry said.
On Monday, the Justice Dpartment's head of the civil rights division, Tom Perez, sent a a six-page letter to Texas' director of elections saying that Texas has not "sustained its burden" under Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act to show that the new law will not have a discriminatory effect on minority voters. About 11 percent of Hispanic voters reportedly lack state-issued identification.

RedState Morning Briefing
For March 14, 2012
After the Iowa Caucuses, the Morning Briefing was single issue. After what happened last night, I think we need to focus again on a single issue - the Souther primaries that occurred.
This morning you were going to read a post from me saying Mitt Romney was definitely now the nominee and it was time for Santorum and Gingrich to drop out. The post was predicated on late polling and early corresponding exit polling from yesterday showing that Mitt Romney won Mississippi. He had finally won in the south.
But the early exits changed with the late exits. The late polling was wrong. Happily I could delete my post. Not only did Mitt Romney not win either Alabama or Mississippi, but he is, as you wake up, coming in third in both. The polls were wrong.
Yesterday, Mitt Romney went on CNN and told Wolf Blitzer that Rick Santorum's campaign was coming to a "desperate end." That seems more apt this morning to Romney's southern campaign. Given his poor showing, it's understandable if you expect Newt Gingrich to call on Romney to get out.
There is a lot to review in this biggest story of the day. But the start should be a simple question: does Mitt Romney need more debates?
The Romney camp signaled it was tired of the debates. But in the Florida debates the Romney camp largely destroyed Gingrich before winning Florida. In the Mesa, AZ debate on CNN the Romney camp ruined Rick Santorum before winning Arizona and barely Michigan.
Both times the Romney campaign used good debate performances to rebound lagging poll numbers into real momentum. Then he decided to stop debating. Out of sight and out of mind, conservatives forgot why they thought he was the guy who could beat Obama.
Does he need to get back to debating?
The most striking thing about last night's elections is that none of the candidates can close the deal. In effect, there was a three way tie, though it worked to Romney's disadvantage. Newt Gingrich last night proved he is neither a regional candidate nor a spoiler. His influence is headed into Ron Paul territory. Gingrich could not win the deep south. He won Georgia and South Carolina. A Catholic yankee from Pennsylvania won Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and will probably win Louisiana. Even with Gingrich in the race, Santorum beat Romney. He was no spoiler. Gingrich's final act could be king maker by getting out and endorsing, but pride cometh before the fall. Gingrich is in mid fall. What a sad end to a brilliant legacy. But his campaign is over. All we need is Haley Joel Osment and M. Night Shyamalan to point out to him he is dead. Santorum won the states. It was a huge victory. But even he is not closing the deal. The striking thing about the exits, which over all captured the race fairly well, is that Santorum's voters made up their mind in the last few weeks. In other words, Santorum's voters made up their minds as Romney was winning Arizona, Michigan, and Ohio. Santorum's vote is not about Santorum so much as it is about stopping Romney. He needs to bring those voters fully on board and give them a reason to vote for Santorum. He is on the verge of doing so. Were I Mitt Romney I'd be firing staff. It's almost like God himself is toying with Romney. Maybe it is because the Romney camp says it would take an Act of God for Santorum or Gingrich to win. God seems like he wants to make it happen. I don't think I have seen any political team mishandle and bungle expectations as badly as Team Romney. Every time they let expectations get out of hand they lose. They did it in Iowa. They did it in South Carolina. They did it in Tennessee. They did it in Mississippi. Hell, they did it in Michigan where Romney did win, but by less than three percent. No doubt buoyed by exit polling yesterday, the Romney campaign made sure everyone knew they could seriously win Mississippi. By 8pm, Eric Fehrnstrom was on CNN telling Anderson Cooper that no one really thought Romney would win Alabama or Mississippi. I couldn't help but laugh in the background. In five years of campaigning it is stunning to me that the Romney camp still has no clue how to play the expectations game. It is increasingly clear it is not a well run campaign, Mitt Romney is not a good campaigner, but he will still, more likely than not, be the GOP nominee. While all eyes were focused on Alabama and Mississippi, Romney was doing quite well in Hawaii and American Samoa. Like sterile accountants counting pennies, the Romney camp keeps counting delegates. That can get them to a win, but it will be an uninspiring win. There is little enthusiasm for Romney with the base. In heavily Republican Madison County, MS, voter turn out barely topped 7,000 voters. In 2008, when the GOP contest was done and everyone knew McCain would be the nominee, 10,500 people still turned out to vote for McCain. Yes, more Republicans turned out to vote McCain in 2008 than Romney in 2012. That's a problem. That's a lack of enthusiasm. The problem is two fold now. The base doesn't like Romney, but the base doesn't really like the other options either. At the same time, the base does not want this primary to end. The roller coaster continues. The one sure thing out of this is that, though Romney is not becoming a better candidate as the primaries continue, Rick Santorum sure is. As for Newt? He is becoming less relevant. It is time for Newt Gingrich to exit. It is time for Santorum v. Romney and let the chips fall where they may. I still think Romney is the nominee. But I think Santorum vs. Romney one on one gives Romney a run for his money he needs to become a candidate conservatives can potentially rally around.

March 13, 2012 We are shocked...shocked! In that famous scene in the movie "Casablanca," Captain Renault exclaims to Rick that he is "shocked, shocked" to find gambling going on. Just so, we are "shocked" to read that a former CAIR official, now a candidate for President in Egypt, wants to fully implement sharia law. (See the Jihad Watch post below, highlights added, and the link to the MEMRI video.) As we have said before, it's clear to us that CAIR's real agenda is not protecting "civil rights"-but insinuating sharia law into America in any way possible.
Former Hamas-linked CAIR official running for president in Egypt, pledges to "complete the implementation of Islamic law in Egypt" http://www.jihadwatch.org/2012/03/former-hamas-linked-cair-official-running-for-president-in-egypt-pledges-to-complete-the-implementat.html What he says is not so surprising. Who he is is what is noteworthy here. "Egyptian Presidential Candidate Bassem Khafaji Pledges to 'Complete the Implementation of Islamic Law in Egypt,'" from MEMRI TV, March 7 (thanks to Benedict):
|
Following are excerpts from Egyptian presidential candidate Bassem Khafaji, which aired on Al-Nas TV on March 7, 2012: Bassem Khafaji: Let me tell you, in all honesty, that as a Muslim Egyptian, I am convinced of [the need to] complete the implementation of Islamic law in Egypt. I do not hide this truth in any way, because it is in keeping with the inclination of the Egyptian people. We Egyptians - both Muslims and non-Muslims - refer to the shari'a in many things. I often ask people: How did you get married? Wasn't it according to the shari'a, regardless of whether you are Muslim or not? Weren't you married in accordance with your religion? When somebody in our family dies, how we inherit him? Not in accordance with the shari'a? No [candidate] should say that he is coming to implement the shari'a, because part of it has already been implemented. What the Egyptian people want is to complete this implementation. As president, I will personally assist in the completion of the correct implementation of the shari'a, by consulting the experts [in Islamic law].
|
Jihad Watch reader Benedict, who kindly alerted me to the above item, also points out that Bassem Khafaji, or Khafagi, used to work in the U.S. for Hamas-linked CAIR:
|
The former community affairs director for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Bassem Khafagi was arrested in January 2003 on suspicion of aiding terrorists. Khafagi is also the founder of the Islamic Assembly of North America (IANA), a radical, Ann Arbor, Michigan-based organization. He pled guilty in a Detroit federal court to two counts of bank fraud and one count of visa fraud.
|
Hamas-linked CAIR constantly insists that Muslims in the U.S. don't want to implement Sharia here. So did Khafagi change his mind about Sharia when he went back to Egypt? Or does he think Sharia should be implemented in Egypt but not here? Or maybe he and others in Hamas-linked CAIR really do want to bring Sharia here? I confidently await the imminent explanation from Honest Ibe Hooper, clearing all this up!

Hamas-linked CAIR once again reveals its true colors. Entrapment? The great terror investigator Steven Emerson gives background on Ferhani:
Manhattan Terrorism Plot:Ahmed Ferhani and Mohamed Mamdouh were arrested last May for plotting to bomb synagogues and attack Jews. The arrests marked the end of a seven-month sting led by New York police officers. In one of their conversations, Ferhani raised the idea of blowing up synagogues. Mamdouh responded to Ferhani's idea, saying "Hell yeah, I would love to blow that [expletive] up." In a subsequent conversation, Ferhani suggested targeting "the biggest synagogue in Manhattan." He suggested disguising himself as a Jewish worshipper and leaving a bomb in the synagogue while pretending to pray there. In their conversations both men said they hated Jews. According to an affidavit, both men purchased weapons from undercover officers, including a hand grenade, semi-automatic handguns and bullets, to help them carry out their attacks.

Harvard Never Learns
By: Stephen H. Norwood
Published: March 7th, 2012
This past weekend Harvard hosted a One-State Solution Conference, designed to promote the dissolution of Israel. It is only the latest example of that university's longstanding practice of facilitating the spread of anti-Semitism.
The virulently anti-Israel Harvard student organizations that sponsored the event, including the Palestine Solidarity Committee, Justice for Palestine, the Palestine Caucus, and the Arab Caucus, acknowledge in the program that the One-State Solution Conference would not have been possible without the support of the Carr Center for Human Rights at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government and funding from the Harvard Provost's Office and the Center for International Affairs.
Harvard president Drew Gilpin Faust and her administration did not express any concern over the conference's heavily biased and non-scholarly nature. Not one of the speakers is known to be sympathetic to Israel, and many are prominently involved in the campaign to boycott Israel's universities and to pressure American schools to divest any holdings in corporations that do business there.

The Blood Price of Afghanistan
The alleged attack on Afghans by an American soldier in Kandahar, where 91 soldiers have been murdered last year alone, is already receiving the full outrage treatment. Any outrage over the deaths of those 91 soldiers in the province will be completely absent. There will be no mention of how many of them died because the Obama Administration decided that the lives of Afghan civilians counted for more than the lives of soldiers. No talk of what it is like to walk past houses with gunmen dressed in civilian clothing inside and if you are fired at from those houses, your orders are to retreat. Air strikes are for days gone by. The American soldier in the ISAF is expected to patrol and retreat, to smile and reach out to Afghans while they shoot him in the back. After risking his life to hold back the Taliban, he is expected to take it calmly when his government announces that it is trying to cut a deal with the Taliban. As he waits out the final months until withdrawal, seeing his friends lose their limbs and their lives, knowing that the enemy has won, that he has been betrayed and is being kept senselessly on the front line for no objective except the diplomatic position of a government that hates him, that is taking away his health care, his equipment and his job; how does he feel?

The Historical Reality of the Muslim Conquests by Raymond Ibrahim | March 12, 2012
Because it is now almost axiomatic for American school textbooks to whitewash all things Islamic (see here for example), it may be instructive to examine one of those aspects that are regularly distorted: the Muslim conquests. Few events of history are so well documented and attested to as are these conquests, which commenced soon after the death of the Muslim prophet Muhammad (632) and tapered off circa 750. Large swathes of the Old World - from India in the east, to Spain in the west - were conquered and consolidated by the sword of Islam during this time, with more after (e.g., the Ottoman conquests). By the standards of history, the reality of these conquests is unassailable, for history proper concerns itself with primary sources; and the Islamic conquests are thoroughly documented. More importantly, the overwhelming majority of primary source materials we rely on do not come from non-Muslims, who might be accused of bias. Rather, the foremost historians bequeathing to posterity thousands of pages of source materials documenting the Islamic conquests were not only Muslims themselves, they were - and still are - regarded by today's Muslims as pious and trustworthy scholars (generically, the ulema). Is Obama Running Against Sarah Palin? Posted: 13 Mar 2012 07:58 AM PDT (John Hinderaker) Is the Obama campaign trying to re-live the glory days of 2008? Or is attacking Sarah Palin, who hasn't been in any official capacity for some years now, just another attempt to firm up Obama's liberal base? On Friday, the Obama campaign released this rather weird, one-minute ad that focuses entirely on Ms. Palin: Almost the entire ad consists of Palin criticizing President Obama. She has complained that the ad is selectively edited, but the gist of her criticisms comes through clearly, notwithstanding that they aren't very articulately expressed, and they are not rebutted, except by a graphic that says they are "wrong." Generally politicians don't consider it effective to run ads that merely show critics expressing hostile opinions. Read More . . .
Energy: Dueling Headlines for Dunces Posted: 13 Mar 2012 06:16 AM PDT (Steven Hayward)
Perhaps the greatest example of cluelessness in the pages of the New York Times was their bafflement a few years ago over the fact that the prison population was still rising even though the crime rate was falling, apparently unable to discern a possible link between the two. ("Crime Keeps on Falling, But Prisons Keep on Filling" was the impossible-to-lampoon, Onion-worthy headline.) Or as one wit put it: we started lowering the crime rate when we finally acknowledged that the "root cause" of crime is criminals, and treated them accordingly. But yesterday the Times offered a wonderful contrast of stories that capture the full cluelessness of Obama-style liberalism today. The first reported the woes of the Energy Department loan guarantee program that brought you such stunning successes as Solyndra: "Solyndra Is Blamed as Clean-Energy Loan Program Stalls." In our look at the new issue of the CRB, We led off with Professor Diana Schaub's provocative essay on the life of Malcolm X. Among other things, Professor Schaub argued that Malcolm X's life typifies life in America and that he is in some ways a better embodiment of the American experience than Martin Luther King, Jr. In the first installment of Upon Further Review, the CRB interviews Professor Schaub about the piece. CBS has released several CBS/New York Times polls that suggest the failure of the intense propaganda campaign waged by the White House and the mainstream media. Below John discusses the poll that shows Obama's approval rating sinking to a new low. CBS reports the results of the poll here. A sidebar to the poll shows that a majority of Americans believes gas prices are something a president can do a lot about - by a margin of 54-36. The poll on the president's power to affect gas prices is also reported here. Despite the intense propaganda barrage to which we have been subjected over the past several weeks, CBS reports that most Americans believe there should be an exception to the mandate requiring employers who may have a moral or religious objection to cover birth control for their employees - by a margin of 57-36. A majority believes that even nonreligious employers should have the right to opt out - by a margin of 51-40. CBS reports the results of the poll here. To the extent that the White House and its media friends have succeeded in confusing the issue, Americans support the White House position. Read More . . . |
Senators Claim to Have Votes Needed to Grant Additional Work Visas to Irish by St. Paddy's Day!
Call your Senators and tell them the U.S. does not need more guest workers!
Senators Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Scott Brown (R-MA) are lobbying harder than ever this week to pass legislation that would grant an additional 10,500 work visas to Irish nationals BEFORE St. Patrick's Day, this Saturday, March 17! Sources say that at least one of them claims to have the filibuster proof majority necessary to pass such legislation in the Senate.
The legislation could come in the form of either an amended version of S.1983 by Sen. Schumer or S.2005 by Sen. Brown, and would increase guest workers by doubling the number of E-3 visa holders to the U.S. each year. The number of workers brought into the country could grow exponentially once an unlimited number of visas are handed out to the spouses and children (up to the age of 21) of these visa holders!
Not only does this legislation hurt Americans by bringing in more guest workers at a time of high unemployment, but it also represents terrible immigration policy by carving out a special rule for one particular nationality. Moreover, to qualify for this visa, aliens would need to meet only nominal requirements. The legislation that's been introduced only requires visa recipients to have two years of work experience in a particular field, OR to have obtained a high school diploma or its equivalent. Making matters worse, employers are not required to look for U.S. workers first before sponsoring an E-3 visa holder.
CALL your Senators TODAY and tell them:
- You oppose S.1983 and S.2005;
- The U.S. should NOT add an additional 10,500 guest workers to compete with the already 13 million unemployed Americans seeking jobs; and
- Congress should not be in the business of carving out special rules for members of a single nationality. Congress should draft immigration law so that it is uniform in application and is blind to the home country of an alien applicant.

Help us jumpstart this national petition drive to pressure Speaker John Boehner on national mandatory E-Verify. Ordinarily, those of you who live outside Ohio don't have much of an avenue to try to influence the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. This petition is a chance to show Rep. Boehner (R-Ohio) that the polls are right -- the whole nation wants mandatory E-Verify to prevent every employer in the nation from hiring any more illegal aliens. ACTION: SIGN THE PETITION: www.numbersusa.com/petition?ID=42 Then be sure to fill in other email addresses to whom we can send the petition. You will find that the petition is quite respectful of the Speaker but pulls no punches as to what is at stake. This is what you will find on the petition page: National E-Verify Is Stuck in U.S. House While Jobless Americans Suffer Only Speaker John Boehner Can Get It Moving into Law PETITION TO SPEAKER BOEHNER: Bring Mandatory E-Verify to a Floor Vote And Put Jobless Americans Back to Work Dear Speaker Boehner: We the undersigned, being likely voters in the fall congressional elections, respectfully ask that you allow your colleagues in the House of Representatives to debate, amend and vote on H.R. 2885, the Legal Workforce Act. Millions of unemployed Americans and their families suffer every week you delay. The House Judiciary Committee passed this bill last September. During this six-month delay, jobless Americans who immediately would have found work upon final enactment have had to remain unemployed, worrying about making their mortgage and caring for their children because E-Verify has not been made mandatory for all employers. And millions more jobless Americans will start earning paychecks again in the first five years after the Legal Workforce Act is enacted. No wonder a recent Pulse Opinion Research poll found that 65% to 90% of every racial, political, age, income, and religious group of Americans supports national electronic workplace verification. This is a jobs bill that will cost almost nothing to implement and will bring great honor on those leaders who usher it into law. SIGN THE PETITION: www.numbersusa.com/petition?ID=42 THANKS, -- ROY

Morning Bell: Obama's New Regulations Cost Billions
Mike Brownfield
March 13, 2012
If you fly across the country, it's easy to see signs of America's ingenuity and productivity - skyscrapers in New York City, steel mills in Pennsylvania, factories in Chicago, farmland in the Great Plains, and the glittering technology of Silicon Valley. But what you can't see, though it's very real, is the invisible web of red tape crawling forth from Washington, crisscrossing the landscape, strangling job creators, tying down entrepreneurs, and tangling America's engine of innovation in a mess of regulations. Under the Obama Administration, those endless miles of government-imposed directives has kept getting longer, as The Heritage Foundation reveals in a new study released today.
In our "Red Tape Rising: Obama-Era Regulation at the Three Year Mark" report, James Gattuso and Diane Katz detail how the Obama Administration has imposed new regulations costing $46 billion annually, with nearly $11 billion more in one-time implementation costs. That is about five times the cost of regulations imposed during the first three years of President George W. Bush's administration, but the burden is even higher. The red tape of the past three years helps explain why the economic recovery has been so slow and job creation so anemic.
Don't take our word for it, but those of President Obama himself.

The "Hispanic vote bogyman" threat is actually a Democrat problem not ours
Mar 13, 2012 06:13 am | Coach Collins
By Kevin "Coach" Collins
It's election time so that means Democrats rolls out one of its favorites weapons: the "Hispanic vote bogyman" threat. The script goes this way: The Democrat supporting Hispanics dictate a demand list to Republicans then watch them squirm and pander. To add some salsa to the threat they promise retaliation at the polls if Republicans dare to ignore them.
This kind of knuckling under has never gone well for Republicans. Endless concessions and saying things like, "We'll give your cousin amnesty. We'll give your kids our kids' college classroom seats - and throw in our jobs food stamps and ignore your past voter fraud; but please vote for us" rarely wins us Hispanic support but rarely fails to anger our base who sometimes stay home on Election Day.
Every cycle Hispanic voters thank us for the goodies laugh behind our back and vote Democrat anyway. Chasing votes we will never get is a fool's ... Continue Reading:The "Hispanic vote bogyman" threat is actually a Democrat problem not ours

American Minute March 12

By Bill Federer, staff writer
Juliette Low began the Girls Scouts, MARCH 12, 1912, in Savannah, Georgia. Chronic ear infections as a child made one ear deaf. A grain of rice thrown at her wedding lodged in her other ear, which was punctured by the procedure to remove it. Juliette Low's father, a U.S. Army General, was previously a Civil War Confederate captain. In the Spanish-American War, Juliette Low and her mother organized a convalescent hospital for wounded soldiers returning from Cuba. After her husband's death in 1905, Juliette Low traveled to England where in 1911 she met Boer War hero Sir Robert Baden-Powell, founder of the Boy Scouts. They were engaged to be married, but the wedding was cancelled. Returning to America, Juliette Low founded Girl Guides. Dying of breast cancer in 1927, she was buried in her uniform. The original Girl Scout promise was: "On ... Continue Reading:American Minute March 12

Is the obvious THAT hard to see?
Mar 12, 2012 02:13 pm | Coach Collins
By Ron Reale, staff writer
What is it about the pundits that they can't seem to get that WE, the American People, have no problem with a "brokered" Convention for the GOP? Why are they so afraid of allowing this process? I just heard Dick Morris declare that we NEED a candidate, asking principled people to just "vote for Romney!" Not because he is the best person, but because he, Dick Morris, believes we need to short circuit the process, and, in the process, disenfranchise the very people we will need to vote for our eventual candidate. Way to get out the vote, Dick!
We like this process. The only reason it has gotten so ugly is because of the candidates themselves. Newt claimed he was going to have a positive campaign, but millions of dollars in negative attacks were the response.
I still wish Newt had resisted being dragged into the sewer, and had remained positive ... Continue Reading:Is the obvious THAT hard to see?

WOLF: Democrats sneak Uncle Sam into your bedroom
They give donors, political allies at Big Pharma a wet kiss
By Dr. Milton R. Wolf

The Washington Times

Illustration by Linas Garsys for The Washington Times
Pop quiz: What is the most expensive lunch you can buy? Answer: The one someone convinces you is free. Ask your average fifth-grader if there's such thing as a free lunch. Now ask a Democrat. Care to wager who's smarter? Another quiz: How can Democrats avoid discussions of Obamacare's growing price tag, the failed stimulus, green job boondoggles, unemployment, bank bailouts, auto takeovers, food stamps, credit downgrades and soaring gas prices? Answer: Claim that Republicans want to steal your girly parts.
When the going gets tough, the left gets predictable. Democrats' false promises of big-government utopia have collapsed once again and so they retreat to their well-worn playbook, which really only has three plays: class warfare, an overcharged race card and an equally overcharged gender card. Throw in some good old-fashioned corporate boondoggles and voila! Democrats have their re-election plan.
Under the sweeping powers of Obamacare, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is empowered to reach into our churches and direct how they will practice their religion. Yawn. Just another day under President Obama's authoritarian regime. But why harass churches? Because, as New York Democrat Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney claims, there's a "Republican crusade to limit access to birth control. ..." There is?

Labor Dept. documents: MSNBC's Ed Schultz on labor union payrolls since 2005
By Adam Jablonowski - The Daily Caller 03/12/2012
U.S. labor unions paid MSNBC "Ed Show" host Ed Schultz roughly $200,000 in 2011, and roughly $337,000 over the last seven years, according to Department of Labor documents.
Newsbusters first reported that the liberal TV talker received $190,000 from the Communications Workers of America for "representational activities" in 2011. CWA president Larry Cohen is a regular guest on Schultz's radio program.
The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers also paid Schultz $9,900 last year.
In 2010 his union salaries totaled a comparatively small $37,350. The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME); the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW); and the Communications Workers of America (CWA) paid him $15,000, $14,850 and $7,500, respectively.
The unions classified the 2010 payments to Schultz as "union administration" expenses, according to Labor Department records.
Schultz's union salaries doubled since the debut of "The Ed Show" on MSNBC in 2009.
The unions' records, filed with the federal government in compliance with the Labor Management Reporting and Disclosure Act, show that his financial ties with unions date back to 2005.

Trend: Obama Sinks to New Low in CBS News Poll By Guy Benson Townhall.com
This data adds an exclamation point to my series of poll posts over the last few days. Go ahead, Lefties, explain to me how CBS News and the New York Times are colluding to deflate this president's approval numbers: President Obama's approval rating has hit the lowest level ever in CBS News polling, according to the latest CBS News/New York Times survey. The drop may be partially attributable to rising gas prices. Just 41 percent of Americans approve of the job Mr. Obama is doing as president, according to the poll, conducted from March 7 to 11. Another 47 percent disapprove of his performance, up from 41 percent last month. Mr. Obama's approval rating was 50 percent last month.

The Left's Schadenfreude Fraud
This column by ACRU Senior Legal Analyst Jan LaRue was published March 13, 2012 on the American Thinker website.
Schadenfreude, according to Webster, is "enjoyment obtained from the troubles of others." It encapsulates the essence of women using government to force others to pay for their contraception. The fraud is in hustling the con as a women's health issue. It makes sense only to abortion zealots who think pregnancy is a disease or a parasite. The grand dame of abortion rights, Minority House Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), held a little Republican-bashing session with three members of the "House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee" on Feb. 23, which she and her media friends passed off as a "congressional hearing."

Will High Court Adopt the Coercion Test?
This column by ACRU Senior Fellow Robert Knight was published March 12, 2012 in The Washington Times. As the American Civil Liberties Union prowls the land to muzzle public prayers, rip out Ten Commandments monuments and terrify small towns over Nativity scenes, help may be on the way from the U.S. Supreme Court. Later this year, the court may decide to hear arguments for and against tearing down the 44-foot cross at the Mount Soledad veterans memorial in San Diego. The ACLU says the cross, first erected in 1913 and rebuilt twice, is an unconstitutional establishment of religion. You can see the cross clearly at the top of a mountain from the San Diego Freeway, and it offends and traumatizes ACLU attorneys every time they glimpse it. Some bravely make it through that stretch while clutching their hearts, while others narrowly miss going off the road.

Securing the Safety Net
This column by ACRU Chairman and CEO and CCPP founder and President Susan A. Carleson was published March 11, 2012 on the American Thinker website. As the sheer audacity and real costs of ObamaCare become more apparent every day, we can't say we weren't warned. Back in 1961, Ronald Reagan explained the allure and dangers of "free" medical care:
One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine. It is very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project. Most people are a little reluctant to oppose anything that suggests medical care for people who possibly can't afford it.
Sadly, I have had first-hand knowledge of the impact of "free" medicine. My family is from England, and over the years I have watched grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends wait years for what we Americans consider routine health services.

One Nation Under Regulation
In this year's State of the Union, President Obama famously declared: "I've approved fewer regulations in the first three years of my presidency than my Republican predecessor did in his."
That's technically right. The Obama Administration has undertaken 10,215 rulemaking proceedings, a few less than the 10,674 under the Bush Administration. But, not all regulations are equal. As James Gattuso and Diane Katz reveal in Red Tape Rising: Obama-Era Regulation at the Three-Year Mark, the Obama Administration has issued 106 major regulations (defined as regulations costing more than $100 million). The cost of such regulatory burdens exceeded $46 billion. This is a dramatic increase compared to the Bush Administration's 28 major regulations, costing $8.1 billion. From $8.1 billion under Bush to $46 billion under Obama-that's more than a 500% increase! The Dodd-Frank financial regulation statute was one of the worst offenders. It was responsible for the largest proportion of Obama's major regulations in 2011 (12 regulations). It's no surprise that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) produced Obama's most expensive regulation of 2011 (along with a total of five major regulations that cost more than $4 billion annually). The EPA notoriously underestimates costs. For instance, last July, the EPA estimated that a new rule on power plants would cost $800 million annually. According to the Brattle Group, an economic consulting firm that works with the electrical power industry, it turns out that the costs of that regulation would total $120 billion by 2015. But, in the end, the cost and number of regulations is not the biggest problem. Regulation hampers our prosperity, but more than that-it harms our republic. The Founders designed a constitutional republic in which Congress would deliberate and make laws, the executive would enforce them, and the judiciary would apply them to cases and controversies. The regulatory process of the administrative state operates outside of the Founders' design. Congress delegates its law-making power to bureaucrats who make detailed regulations covering every aspect of our lives: from the light bulbs we use to the health care coverage we purchase. This process enables agencies to create not only more regulations but also regulations that Congress did not intend to be covered under the law. For instance, the EPA decided to regulate carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act even though Congress never intended that law to do so. But the republic is not irrevocably lost. In fact, Congress is the branch best equipped to control the costs of regulation and restore our constitutional processes. And here's two key ways:
- Rein in the bureaucrats. There is already a law on the books that gives Congress power to stop regulations. Under the 1996 Congressional Review Act, Congress has the means to veto new regulations. To date, however, Congress has successfully used that authority only once: to veto the Department of Labor's rule imposing ergonomics standards. This past year, the House passed the REINS Act, under which Congress would have to approve any major regulation before it takes effect. If the Senate would ever pass it, the bill would create a congressional check on regulators, as well as ensure the accountability of Congress itself.
- Sunset and Sunlight. Sunset provision on regulations would create a review process would prevent old expensive regulations from being left in place, even when they are no longer useful. Bob Moffit has also suggested that reforming the rule-making process would help roll back the administrative state. The typical, informal rule-making process creates opportunities for backroom deals and special-interest lobbying. The formal rule-making process is more transparent: it requires the presentation of evidence, an oral hearing before an administrative law judge, the right of contending parties to present opposing cases, and that the public record of the proceedings be the exclusive basis for the regulatory decision.
Most importantly, the American people need to change the conversation. We can recognize a role for expertise that does not eliminate the deliberative process in Congress. The tacit assumption of the administrative state is that we are not smart enough to govern ourselves-that we need detailed rules from experts to tell us how to live. But, we are not subjects of the administrative state. We are citizens in a constitutional republic.

The U.S. economy added 227,000 jobs in February, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Unemployment remains at 8.3 percent. Encouragingly, the private-sector saw the biggest growth, with 233,000 new jobs, while government employment decreased by 6,000. The labor force participation also increased by 0.2 percentage points. Despite this good news, Heritage Foundation economists Rea Hederman and James Sherk report, the economic recovery is still slower than previous recoveries and better policies are needed to allow economic activity to reach its full potential:
|
In the context of an already good economy, February's employment figures would be excellent news. In the context of the recovery from the worst recession of the postwar era, they are only encouraging. Certainly, job growth is better than continued stagnation, but the U.S. economy has great underlying resilience. It will eventually recover from a recession. The important questions are how long until that happens and how quickly the economy grows.
|
| |
Read their full analysis here. To ensure growth, Hederman and Sherk urge the government to skip the massive tax hikes set to go into effect after December 31. They encourage policymakers to instead enact pro-growth policies by reducing regulations and tax hikes. Share with us in the comments: are you confident job growth will continue?
"I love America, I love the vitality of Americans, and I believe their spirit must be preserved," says The Heritage Foundation's David Azerrad.
When the Canadian-born Azerrad first came to the US in 2004 to pursue his PhD, he considered himself a conservative on foreign policy but liberal on everything else. But then he discovered American conservatism in its truest form and was completely won over.
"In grad school I discovered the American Founding. Studying extraordinary men and what is, in my opinion, the best government ever established," he says.
"Although the Founding was not perfect, something truly extraordinary happened 200 years ago, and our regime is worth preserving."
As assistant director of the B. Heritage Work of Note
- Congress is now considering new rules to prevent members of Congress from benefiting in the stock markets based on their knowledge of pending legislation that affects their investments. The legislation, the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge or STOCK Act, comes after CBS' 60 Minutes exposed how certain members of Congress benefited this way-a practice that violates no laws. The Heritage Foundation's Paul Larkin takes an in-depth look at both the House and Senate versions and concludes that the House version is the better bill. Continue reading on myHeritage.

Putin's six-year term will extend through 2018, when he will have an opportunity to be reelected and retain power through 2024. Cohen lays out six possible roadblocks to a peaceful and productive U.S.-Russia relationship on myHeritage.
- The United States provides over $100 million a year in financial support to the African Union and its activities, including its peacekeeping missions. The First Freedom
In 1634 when the Ark and the Dove arrived, carrying English settlers to what is now Saint Mary's County, those brave women and men established the first settlement to offer and guarantee religious liberty to all of the inhabitants. In effect, they constructed what would become known as the birthplace of religious freedom in America.
History teaches us that the right to religious liberty is fragile and must be vigilantly guarded if it is not to be lost. The Catholic bishops of Maryland -- Washington Archbishop Donald Cardinal Wuerl, Baltimore Apostolic Administrator Archbishop Edwin F. O'Brien, and Wilmington Bishop W. Francis Malooly -- have released a statement outlining increasing threats to this cherished right and highlighting the urgent need for all people to take steps to defend religious liberty.

Soros attempts to bribe ex-girlfriend, fails
Most people picture George Soros in his off hours sitting in a lowly lit room drawing out maps and plans to take over the world. Who knew the guy actually had girlfriends at one point in his life? The billionaire hater of freedom recently ran into a little trouble with one of his ex-girlfriends and allegedly tried to send some hush money to make it all go away. Did it work? Nope! Glenn has more on radio today.
Is George Soros turning into the Emperor from Star Wars? Seriously, just look at these photos, they speak for themselves. #scary
Santorum: "Gingrich needs to get out of the race"
Rick Santorum joined the radio program to talk about the race and specifically to talk about Newt Gingrich. The former Senator from PA strongly feels he would be handily beating Romney if it were a two man race. Is there any value in sticking this out till the end? Does it hurt or help the GOP in the long run? Check out the interview.
Glenn destroys ridiculous Obama documentary
As part of his re-election campaign the Obama administration is trying to highlight the positives - and one of the few happens to be the killing of Osama Bin Laden. Of course, that has more to do with the efforts of the military than anything else, but that's not stopping the President from trying to make the most of it. Glenn plays the ridiculous dramatization of the decision, as if it were a tough one. Audio & reaction on radio today.
11 y/o does job MSM won't do; grills Michelle Obama
A great question was asked by an 11-year-old aspiring journalist who had the opportunity to interview the first lady of the United States. She asked her a very direct question about why the government should be involved in telling people what to eat. Michelle Obama gives a pretty bad answer - Glenn picks it apart on radio today.
Amazing RFK Jr. audio
RFK Jr. lashed out at Senator Inhofe recently and had a few choice words for the anti-global warming Republican, calling him a prostitute who is selling out our country. After admitting hypocrisy because he criticized Rush for using that word, Kennedy decided to double down. What else did he call Inhofe?

Vatican on a list of money launderers
President Obama has a pattern when he's faced with confrontation. Instead of backing down or trying to find common ground, this administration puts the pedal to the metal and doubles down. Just like when he said he'd drag the oil companies in, just like when he attacked greedy doctors as heartless SOB's who were amputating kids for cash - he's doing it again with the Catholic Church. Find out how here.
9/12 Project: Last night on GBTV, Glenn celebrated the three year anniversary of the 9/12 Project. Get highlights from last night's show HERE.
Time to Prepare! The NY Times is making fun of preppers and all the new reality shows based on being prepared. But in the event of any emergency, it is better to be safe than sorry? TOMORROW on GBTV beginning at 5pm, whether it's the summer of rage or a natural disaster, Glenn has advice on how you and your family can be safe and ready. Then at 8pm ET, don't miss the season finale of Independence USA. Frank and Adam set out to make their own black powder for shooting practice -- will it hold up against the store bought kind? Plus, Frank challenges Kim to a beer making competition where the loser must be the winner's servant for 24 hours.
