1) Letter to the Central MontCo PTPP: To those that came to, or stepped up to help at, or donated to defray costs for the David Codrea Presents Fast & Furious event on Saturday, thank you. You really can't imagine how reassured I felt when entertaining / having dinner with David and his wife, I simply trusted our team to set up the venue well. I was proud to see our involved members, and folks from other groups, and vigilant citizens, flowing into the room to become more informed by David's account when they could have stayed home for a football game or another debate. I am grateful for the kind monetary support from so many people; because of this, we will most likely break even for the event costs. We targeted our advertising to the "average person", be they attentive independent or apathetic drone - not many of them came but at least I trust you all fortified your knowledge. For a word with no aggressive denotations, "complacency" of the public is nonetheless a mighty foe. We coordinators are proud of you and are humbled by you and consider ourselves fortunate to work with you. David's compliments about the group were glowing, and even the security guard approached me afterwards and said "I've been to a lot of events, but these people were the politest and most respectful group I've ever seen". I thanked him and said I'll see him at the next tea party meeting.
2) Meeting: This Thursday Jan 12 is our regular monthly meeting at the Rock Cafe/Church (857 Main Street Harleysville) from 7-9pm. Our speaker, Phil Duffy, will tell us about the events that led to this whole economic collapse, and if time permits we will go interactive and ask you to help us with 2012 election ideas.
3) Charity event: This Saturday Jan 14 is our first charity event as a group, where we will help out at the Habitat ReStore thrift store, 533 Foundry Road, West Norriton, PA 19403. Do we just preach charity over socialism, or do we practice it? We meet in Hennings at 7:50 and leave at 8am to get there at 8:30 until about 2pm. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old. You can use the ride board on our forum (available from our website) to say if you have seats available or need a ride. If you need to leave early, I'm sure someone else will too, and it can be arranged.
Please join our forum to speak your piece in real time, available from our website.
See you Thursday, -Jim, Pam and Tim

Things are really starting to heat up in this campaign to get Sam to the US Senate. We are now looking for volunteers to help us in Chester County, particularly in the northern and northeastern areas of the county. We need people to help get petitions signed, hand out literature in the neighborhoods, work the polls on election day, hold home meetings when Sam is in the area, and who knows what else will come up. Could you please send this out to your group to see if anyone would like to help. They can contact me directly either by email or by phone. Thanks for your help. Looking forward to seeing you at the victory party.

But what IS nullification? How does it happen and work? Since September 2010, the Tenth Amendment Center has been hosting a national tour to educate and activate people on this topic. People are learning the constitutional basis, when it's been used in history, and how it is happening around the country and how YOU can stop DC right in your own state.

Remember January 3rd, 2007 The Day The Democrats Took Over!
I wonder how many people know this?
The day the Democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009 -- it was actually January 3rd 2007. The day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives & Senate, the start of the 110th Congress.
The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.
"For those of you who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is "Bush's Fault," think about this:
January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress:
At the time:
The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77
The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%
The Unemployment rate was 4.6%

Cites specific sections of the 2,700-page health care law
Provides detailed analysis of specific Obamacare provisions
Identifies key principles for a better way to reform health care
The unmistakable conclusion of this series is that Obamacare must be fully repealed. Congress cannot build sound market-based health care reform on the flawed foundation of this health care law. Until it can be repealed, Congress must employ its full powers authorized by the Constitution to:

MEDICARE PREMIUM INCREASE
Pass this on to everyone each month until the election in Nov. 2012. It's important !
MEDICARE PREMIUM INCREASE
Look carefully at the 2014 rate compared to the 2013 rate.
For those of you who are on Medicare, read the following. It's short, but important and you probably haven't heard about it in the Mainstream News:
"The per person Medicare Insurance Premium will increase from the present Monthly Fee of
$96.40, rising to:
$104.20 in 2012
$120.20 in 2013
And
$247.00 in 2014."

The GOP has gone off the reservation. Capitalism should be defended. That does not mean everything Romney did at Bain Capital must be defended. And it sure as heck does not mean we should suddenly be okay with the President's handling of General Motors.
Meanwhile, Sarah Palin wants Romney to release his tax records and provide proof of his job creation numbers. God bless her. Just when this was starting to look like a coronation with 2.01% of delegates selected . . .
Despite strident opposition from supporters who maintain that Rick Santorum is a "true conservative" in the mold of - you guessed it - Ronald Reagan, the already huge mountain of evidence that he is, at heart, a 'big-government conservative' continues to grow.
So with New Hampshire behind us (and with any luck, never again in front of us), and with my tendency to be overloaded with life to the point at which I catch up on things I meant to write two to fifty-two weeks after they are timely, I wanted to say something about the controversy which was and is best described as "National Romney Online."
For those of you who don't keep up on conservative tendencies to engage in circular firing squads, a summary is in order; for those of you who couldn't give a rat's anus, best just to skip this diary altogether.
In short, National Review - which backed Mitt Romney in 2008 after months and years of not-so-coyly talking him up - and which has not, in fairness, endorsed anyone as a publication yet, is perceived to be carrying water for the Mittster this time around. The battle was joined when Ramesh Ponnuru - arguably the brightest of National Review's lights, and the editor with the greatest credibility among mainstream conservatives - endorsed Romney, albeit not without qualifications; the battle escalated when the publication as a whole went full-metal William Foster on Newt Gingrich for a thousand and one sins against conservatism and electability. In passing, the magazine took shots at Ron Paul (who hasn't?), Michelle Bachmann, and Rick Perry; then took time to praise Jon Huntsman, Mitt Romney, and Rick Santorum, whose only apparent problem was a lack of executive experience. The didactic tone at the end of the piece seemed almost calculated to irritate any reader not yet enraged by the closing of the piece.
By the numbers, we are yet very early in the presidential primaries. 1144 delegates are needed to sew up the nomination, and depending how you count these things, Mitt Romney has maybe 13 delegates after finishing Iowa in a de facto tie with Rick Santorum and thumping Ron Paul in New Hampshire last night. But presidential primary races are often about perception: like wars, you more often win them by convincing the other side that further resistance is futile than by total, to-the-last-man annihilation. And so the coming South Carolina primary is widely recognized as the last realistic chance to stop Romney, or at least visibly slow his momentum and eliminate the divisions among conservative candidates that have thus far precluded a unified opposition. Romney has been lining up endorsements (including SC Governor Nikki Haley), money and favorable press from conservative journalists to create an air of inevitability that he hopes will end this race by Florida, if not South Carolina. I think it is fair to say that a great many grassroots conservative activists view the prospect of a Romney candidacy with varying shades of dismay.
U.S. Falls in Index of Economic Freedom
Sharp increases in government spending and costly regulations contributed to this year's decline in the United States' ranking in the annual Index of Economic Freedom published by The Wall Street Journal and The Heritage Foundation.
The U.S. fell from ninth to tenth place in economic freedom among 179 competing countries. It was the fourth straight year of decline in economic freedom for the United States. As recently as 2008, the U.S. ranked seventh worldwide, and was considered a "free" economy. Today, the U.S. is only a "mostly free" economy.
Most worrisome is the U.S.'s drop in the category of freedom from corruption. Index editors say this stems from the growing perception of corruption associated with government bailouts of troubled industries, including automakers and investment houses. The perception of corruption also grew due to regulatory exemptions granted to politically well-connected companies and special-interest groups. More than 1,100 companies won exemptions from provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, President Obama's signature health care legislation.
"Corruption is a growing concern as the cronyism and economic rent-seeking associated with the growth of government have undermined institutional integrity," the editors write.
The Index's editors also attribute the U.S. decline to increases in government spending and the dramatic growth of regulations, particularly in health care and finance.
Spending by government consumes 42.2 percent of gross domestic product (GDP), and total public debt now is larger than the entire the economy.
The regulatory burden also continues to grow. More than 70 major rules imposed since 2009 cost Americans nearly $40 billion last year - leading to the largest U.S. decline, in the fiscal freedom category.
The Index offers solutions, pointing to the policies needed to improve the U.S.'s score: reduce the size of government, overhaul the tax system, and transform costly entitlement programs. These solutions are critical for bringing down high unemployment rates and reducing public debt to manageable levels.

Give them another reason why President Obama has GOT to go.
NO. 1.
He has the reverse Midas touch. Almost everything he touches turns to You Know What: when he flew to Copenhagen to plead Chicago's case for the 2016 Olympics, the International Olympic Committee gave them to Rio instead; when he flew to Copenhagen again for the global warming summit, Air Force One was engulfed by a blizzard on landing and the conference ended in failure; when he campaigned in Massachusetts to save "Ted Kennedy's seat" the unthinkable happened: the liberal Democrat lost. You get the idea.
Iran's clerical leaders consider their country to be in a state of war with the United States. They are developing nuclear weaponry, and this could lead to an EMP attack.
An immigrant who plotted a suicide attack in Florida and who said that he wanted to "die the Islamic way" was arrested by the FBI, but CAIR claims that the FBI led him to plot murder.
An obvious condition in the 20th century was a lack of government humility. There was the self confident belief that "good ideas" would trump tradition, customs, history, even instinct.
Iran is courting Latin America. Ahmadinejad's stops in Venezuela, Ecuador and Cuba prove that these nations' leaders have little real interest in improving relations with the United States.
Card-carrying Taliban or not, as a Muslim, the Afghan soldier who murdered an American soldier, and wounded three others, was subject to the call of jihad.
While potential new threats against America emerge in the "new" world order, the policy of eviscerating the U.S. defense budget is both alarming and unprecedented.
The leader of the Muslim Brotherhood in Tunisia was embarrassed by chants of "Kill the Jews" made by Salafists when the head of Hamas in Gaza visited the country.

Federal court blocks Oklahoma ban on Shariah law
Published January 11, 2012 | Associated Press
An amendment that would ban Oklahoma courts from considering international or Islamic law discriminates against religions and a Muslim community leader has the right to challenge its constitutionality, a federal appeals court said Tuesday.
The court in Denver upheld U.S. District Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange's order blocking implementation of the amendment shortly after it was approved by 70 percent of Oklahoma voters in November 2010.
Muneer Awad, the executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Oklahoma, sued to block the law from taking effect, arguing that the Save Our State Amendment violated his First Amendment rights.
The Investigative Project on Terrorism "We all have to die, so why not die the Islamic way?" Sami Osmakac, a 25-year-old immigrant who plotted a suicide terror attack in Tampa, told a confidential informant. When the informer tried once more to dissuade him from his plans, by asking whether he wanted to get married and have children, Osmakac replied that he would build his family in Paradise.
Let's Have Rush Limbaugh Moderate a GOP Debate By Doug Patton CanadaFreePress.com
Twice in a span of 12 hours this past weekend, in what have laughingly come to be called "debates," the six remaining Republican presidential candidates - Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Rick Perry and Jon Huntsman - prostrated themselves yet again before the mainstream media. As usual, the network celebrity talking heads gathered the GOP candidates together and dared them to attack each other, and once more there was a clear winner: Barack Obama.

Elias: Do state college campuses condone anti-Semitism?
By Thomas D. Elias
Imagine the outcry if students on a university campus in California set up "checkpoints" to find out whether students with tan complexions are really African-Americans, or whether students heard conversing in Spanish are citizens or illegal immigrants. Screams of protest would rise if students set up similar barriers to check whether olive-complected schoolmates are outfitted with suicide bombs, or if anyone stopped students of any type demanding to know their sexual orientation.
Thomas Elias
Cries of bigotry would be deafening - and accurate.
But when Muslim student groups at UC Berkeley in 2010 dressed in combat fatigues and carrying fake but genuine-looking weapons manned such checkpoints and demanded that passing students tell them if they were Jewish? No outcry, no protest.
Nothing at all. Not a peep from the large corps of university administrators. Not a move by campus police, even when a counter-demonstrator was whacked with a shopping cart. No demonstrations anywhere.
The only action came from two students who filed a lawsuit charging that Berkeley administrators disregard intimidation by Arab students and foster a climate of anti-Semitism. Meanwhile, the checkpoints have continued sporadically on campus.
Muslim Inbreeding: Impacts on intelligence, sanity, health and society
EuropeNews 9 August 2010 By Nicolai Sennels
Massive inbreeding within the Muslim culture during the last 1.400 years may have done catastrophic damage to their gene pool. The consequences of intermarriage between first cousins often have serious impact on the offspring's intelligence, sanity, health and on their surroundings
The most famous example of inbreeding is in ancient Egypt, where several Pharaonic dynasties collapsed after a couple of hundred years. In order to keep wealth and power within the family, the Pharaohs often married their own sister or half-sister and after a handful of generations the offspring were mentally and physically unfit to rule. Another historical example is the royal houses of Europe where royal families often married among each other because tradition did not allow them to marry people of non-royal class.
The high amount of mentally retarded and handicapped royalties throughout European history shows the unhealthy consequences of this practice. Luckily, the royal families have now allowed themselves to marry for love and not just for status.
The Muslim culture still practices inbreeding and has been doing so for longer than any Egyptian dynasty. This practice also predates the world's oldest monarchy (the Danish) by 300 years.

Is this how Obama win will be guaranteed? Group with ties to president engaged in massive 3rd party drive.
A mysteriously funded, highly organized effort to secure the ballot for a third party candidate in this year's election has ties to President Obama and top Democrats, KleinOnline has learned.
The group, calling itself Americans Elect, or AE, seems designed to appear like a massive, grassroots effort involving millions of citizens acting to draft a third party candidate.
ABC's Stephanopoulos has previously undisclosed ties to Obama, activists who promoted president's career.
ABC News commentator George Stephanopoulos has a previously undisclosed connection to President Obama - the two were part of a small group at Harvard University that met for a period of three years purportedly to promote involvement with U.S. community institutions.
Participants at the research project, which took place between 1997 and 2000, included scores of individuals with ties to Obama, including several activists who were later appointed to positions in the Obama administration. Other participants were instrumental in promoting Obama's political career.
Just yesterday, Stephanopoulos was the subject of conservative criticism for pointed questions he asked Republican presidential candidates while hosting Saturday night's New Hampshire debate.
Following his 15-point victory in the New Hampshire primary, some in the media have hailed Mitt Romney as the new GOP superman. Romney won the Granite State with 38 percent of the vote, followed by Ron Paul at 23 percent, and Jon Huntsman at just below 17 percent. Everyone else finished in single digits. Romney's [...]

Virginia Primary Debacle Could Seriously Hurt the GOP Nominee

The erosion of merit and fairness in the administration of our Military Forces took another big hit last Friday with the Navy's "kid gloves" decision to allow Captain Holly Graf to retire in rank rather than be punished for striking a subordinate.

It's time for a change. A leadership change. Yes, I know there are still 10 months to go before the election of 2012 but seriously...Do we have any time to waste? Can we afford to just ride it out?
No.
We must act and act now.
We have a true leadership vacuum and we need to make things right.
I am NOT talking about Obama or the White House here - though there is a pronounced lack of leadership there, too.
I'm talking about something more immediate.
John Boehner must be replaced and soon.
Very soon.
After the House Members went their way just days before Christmas, John Boehner initiated a conference call to inform the Members that the House would approve, unanimously, a 2-month extension of the payroll tax breaks.
Once upon a time... a long, long, loooonnnnnnnnng time ago in a political galaxy far away... the fight between Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich began.
Specifically, it was 1912 -- a long 100 years ago -- when Republicans William Howard Taft and Theodore Roosevelt launched the first intra-Republican Party war between conservatives and moderates. Or, as TR self-styled the latter, "progressives."
That first fight was a doozy. A battle royal pitting one-time best friends Taft and TR, sitting president and popular ex-president -- in a clamorous, knock-down, drag out fight. The fight ended a friendship, split the Republican Party, and, in the fall, with both men on the ballot -- Taft as the GOP nominee and TR as the candidate of the newly-created "Progressive Party" -- it ended with neither man winning, the country putting Democrat Woodrow Wilson into the White House.
The Taft-Roosevelt fight also launched what might now be officially called the Republican Party's "Hundred Year War."
With New Hampshire primary voters going to the polls today -- and the New Hampshire primary didn't come into being until 1916, four years after the Taft-TR battle -- it would be a mistake to look at today's battle between Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, and Newt Gingrich in isolation.
Every so often, alas, the subject of drug legalization reappears. This time it is back as one of many bad ideas from presidential candidate Congressman Ron Paul and is cheered on by the usual fans, from libertarians to pot heads. But many were surprised when conservative columnist Mona Charen joined the argument in a column she called"Where Ron Paul is Right."
"Paul deserves full credit for endorsing drug legalization,"writes Ms. Charen as she goes into all the reasons she thinks the U.S. should give up and give in to corrosive drugs. Not surprisingly the reasons are the same ones we've heard since before and beyond the"just say no"days; such as the imagined wrongful incarceration of simple users (no -- such prisoners have plea bargained down from major trafficking and violent crimes); medical necessity (banned drugs are not medicine); and the existence of drug crime.
To that last one observer writes,"[If] Drug prohibition creates drug crimes, so legalize drugs and, poof, no more crime. However, it should be pointed out that no one makes the same argument for rape."And United Nations drug fighter Antonio Maria Costa adds,"Human trafficking is another tough crime problem, worldwide -- perhaps second in size, after drug trafficking. Should we legalize modern slavery, given the intrinsic difficulty in dealing with it? Of course not."
This is stuff you wish never ever happened in a free country. And unfortunately, my state is on display in this CBN report that focuses on a black rape victim who was forcibly sterilized without her consent after having the child. And it was ordered by the state because she supposedly had a 'feeble mind'. This happened to over 8,000 people between 1929 and 1974.
I was talking to a fellow North Carolinian who was quick to remind me that the Democrats ran the state back then.
If a true conservative is for small government, strong national defense and traditional values then there is no such candidate in the race. There might have been earlier, but there certainly isn't now.
It's a sad testament to the current state of the party that the choice is between two men who believe in global warming, one who believes in big government, another who believes the terrorists are right and a third who believes in open borders. But last election the choice came down to two men, both of whom believed in global warming and one of whom thought that waterboarding terrorists was torture. That man became the nominee. So maybe we're making some progress.
Critics will point out that Reagan didn't fit that mold too well either. They're right. No leader has. Standards are aspired to, but they are rarely here in the pure form. But the other aspect of the argument is that the standards change in response to the period. Libertarian positions seem more authentically conservative in no small part because of government failures.
That is why attacking Teddy Roosevelt using what we know now as if he were a current political figure is not a valid approach. Roosevelt was a product of his time. Our politicians are a product of ours. Reagan might have been a very different leader if he had been born 30 years later and had been elected 28 years later after the Cold War and its assumptions had been washed out of the common consciousness.
So what is a conservative really? A National Review piece described Romney as the real conservative simply because he was in the business world and defended corporate profits. The former would cover Warren Buffett and Ted Turner. And the latter probably would too depending on what day of the week you ran into them.
The decline of the entertainment industry is all around us. Movie ticket sales have dropped sharply even with inflated numbers from IMAX and 3D movies. Network viewership has declined even more dramatically leaving big three letter networks with numbers that look more like cable. Even the music industry is a ghost of its former self.
The entertainment industry has done its best to disguise this state of affairs with glamor and big numbers. More money is invested in bigger budget projects than ever before, and some of those projects yield incredible sales numbers, but the occasional megahit can't disguise the overall decay of the basic business model as more and more money has to be spent to draw in a declining base. It now costs more to promote a successful movie, show or performer than it takes to produce the creative content. The hundreds of millions of dollars that used to go into product development go into sales now. And the sales look good until you start taking a close look at the big picture and the bottom line. No matter how big the hits are, overall ticket sales are down, television viewership is down and there is no relief in sight.
The industry has blamed the Internet, and while technology has historically played a role in eclipsing and destabilizing technology linked entertainment business models, which movies, television and the music business certainly are, it's an insufficient explanation. The Internet is a source of creative chaos, but the source of the entertainment industry's woes come from inside its own gates.
The entertainment industry was once one of the more American industries as it was steeped deeply in taking and putting out the national culture. Today it has little to do with America or Americans who are nothing but a backdrop for its spectacles, providing the scenery and extras for stories and songs that no longer speak to them.
The decline of the entertainment industry is linked to that failure to speak to Americans.

Editorial Exegesis
The GOP field as it stood in New Hampshire
"Mitt Romney's victory in New Hampshire Tuesday takes him one step closer to the GOP Presidential nomination, especially given the fragmented showing by the rest of the field. The former Massachusetts Governor met expectations in the state where he owns a home, and he will now head to South Carolina with no clear single rival who might unite conservatives. Ron Paul's strong second-place finish was also notable, showing the continuing appeal of his message of 'sound money and personal liberty.' He did especially well, according to the exit polls, among voters anxious about the economy. ... Jon Huntsman's third-place finish might have been encouraging, except it's hard to see where he goes from here. He placed most of his campaign effort on the Granite State, doing 165 events or so and betting that Mr. Romney's appeal would fade. Yet most of Mr. Huntsman's voters said in exit polls that they were either moderate or liberal. That doesn't bode well for him with the more conservative GOP electorate in the South. As we went to press, Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum were competing for a weak fourth place, with about 10% of the vote, while Rick Perry was struggling to reach 1%. All of them will bid to become the conservative champion in the Palmetto State, but they will also still divide the non-Romney vote. ... Mr. Romney's main strength continues to be the GOP perception of his electability and leadership, more than his ideas. The lack of ideas has been one of his weaknesses in trying to unite the GOP, as most voters still break for the bolder colors of Mr. Paul and the rest. If he wants to unite the party and motivate it for the battle against Mr. Obama, Mr. Romney will need some bolder colors himself." --The Wall Street Journal
"For the past year, the question has been whether Mitt Romney would be acceptable to the Republican party. ... Some pundits continue to dream of a great conservative hope who will enter the race and save us from Romney -- perhaps even at a brokered convention. But the voters have now had two opportunities to speak. Two thirds of voters in New Hampshire said they were satisfied with the field. Romney has won a solid victory there. He succeeded with Tea Party supporters and self-described conservatives. And now Newt Gingrich has offered Romney a gift. By attacking him from the left as a heartless tycoon, he has given Romney the chance to campaign as the defender of capitalism and free markets. ... While it's too early to say the race is sewn up, it is looking very good for Mitt Romney." --columnist Mona Charen
"Whatever chance at a comeback Speaker Gingrich and Governor Perry had went up on the pyre they lit with their attacks [against Romney], on Bain specifically and free-market venture capital generally. The recognition that one cannot defend capitalism while attacking capital is spreading. Blaming Bain for layoffs is like blaming the lifeboats for being late to the Titanic. No matter how you judge their performances, we are a whole lot better for having venture capitalists at hand, even when they don't bat anywhere near 1.000." --radio talk-show host Hugh Hewitt
"The old saw is that Democrats fall in love with their candidates while Republicans fall in line behind theirs. It's a dubious rule of thumb -- were Democrats in love with John Kerry in 2004? With Michael Dukakis in 1988? -- but this much is true: Conservative insurgents rarely win the GOP presidential nomination. The nod almost always goes to the party establishment's candidate. This year that candidate is Mitt Romney." --columnist Jeff Jacoby
"We've been dealing with liberal media bias for years, but George Stephanopoulos' performance in the Republican presidential debate Saturday night in New Hampshire was particularly egregious. ... The narrative in these debates ought to be how each of the candidates is better-equipped than the others to reverse Obama's agenda. In addition to misdirecting the debates substantively, the liberal moderators have also, too often, injected themselves into the debates as if they were either driven by their irrepressible egos to make themselves players rather than facilitators or so ideologically revolted by the GOP's policies that they were compelled to argue Obama's side in his absence. The moderators shouldn't be allowed to have it both ways. If they are going to direct the debate solely toward differences among the GOP candidates, they shouldn't present Obama's side for him, giving him and the liberal position a free ride." --columnist David Limbaugh

This week brings the nationwide release of The Iron Lady, starring Meryl Streep as Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
Streep referred to the challenge of portraying Lady Thatcher as "daunting and exciting," and as requiring "as much zeal, fervour and attention to detail as the real Lady Thatcher possesses." Her performance has already been widely praised by critics, but for those who respect Lady Thatcher, not all the omens are positive.
In an interview with The New York Times, Streep compared Lady Thatcher to King Lear and commented that what interested her about the role "was the part of someone who does monstrous things maybe, or misguided things. Where do they come from?" That doesn't sound good.

JANUARY 11, 2012 Obama's Faux Recess Appointments are Unconstitutional
by Edwin Meese III and Todd Gaziano
President Barack Obama's attempt to unilaterally appoint three people to seats on the National Labor Relations Board and Richard Cordray to head the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (after the Senate blocked action on his nomination) is more than an unconstitutional attempt to circumvent the Senate's advise-and-consent role.
It is a breathtaking violation of the separation of powers and the duty of comity that the executive owes to Congress.
Yes, some prior recess appointments have been politically unpopular, and a few have even raised legal questions. But never before has a president purported to make a "recess" appointment when the Senate is demonstrably not in recess. That is a constitutional abuse of a high order.
As a Former United States Attorney General and a Former Office of Legal Counsel lawyer who provided advice to presidents on recess appointment issues, we have defended and will continue to defend the lawful use of the recess appointment power. Although originally conceived by the Framers for a time when communicating with and summoning senators back to the Capitol might take weeks, it is still valid in a modern age - but only as long as the Senate is in recess. Not only was the Senate not in recess when these purported appointments were made, it constitutionally could not have been.
Article I, Section 5, of the Constitution states that neither house of Congress may adjourn for more than three days without the consent of the other house. The House of Representatives did not consent to a Senate recess of more than three days at the end of last year, and so the Senate, consistent with the requirements of the Constitution, must have some sort of session every
Congressional leaders of both parties must vigorously (though thoughtfully) defend their prerogatives. Senators could filibuster all presidential nominations, as Senator Robert C. Byrd did in 1985 over a lesser recess appointment issue, until Obama rescinds these wrongful appointments. The House or Senate could condition all "must-pass" legislation for the remainder of 2012 on an agreement to rescind these appointments. The House also could require the attorney general to produce legal justification and testify at oversight hearings.
If Congress does not resist, the injury is not just to its branch but ultimately to the people. James Madison made clear that the separation of powers was not to protect government officials' power for their sake but as a vital check on behalf of individual liberty. To prevent future tyrannical usurpations of power, Congress must act to redress this serious threat to our liberty.

Founded in 1973, The Heritage Foundation is the nation's most broadly supported public policy organization. Heritage created the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies in 2001 to educate government officials, the media and the public about the Constitution, legal principles and how they affect public policy.
By circumventing the lawful confirmation process, President Obama's attempted "recess appointment" today of Richard Cordray to direct the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) demonstrates the very unaccountability that pervades the agency and requires reform.
Although operational now, the CFPB has been largely confined to enforcing existing regulations, without authority to impose new rules until a bureau director is in place. But so eager was the President to unleash the bureau's regulatory muscle that he chose to test the outer limits of his constitutional powers to make appointments during the supposed recess of the Senate. In addition to constitutional problems with the manner in which this was done, Obama has contributed to the lack of accountability that infuses the bureau structure.
Fair warning: Our Top 10 list may prove fatal to any bit of faith in government as a "fixer."

Dead People Receive Ballots in NH Primary
On January 10th, Project Veritas reporters walked into New Hampshire Polling Locations during the Presidential Primaries, saying dead people's names. We stated the name of a dead person we got from the NH obituaries. The names of the deceased were both Registered Republican and Democrats And in almost every case, saying a dead person's name, we were handed a ballot to cast a vote. We used no misrepresentation and no false pretenses. in fact, in almost every case, we insisted we show ID and they insisted that we vote without showing ID.

COUNTDOWN TO VICTORY: 300 DAYS TO THE 2012 ELECTIONS
MEDIA NOTICE
Tune in to Fox News tonight at 8:00 PM ET. I will be on "The O'Reilly Factor" to discuss the state of the 2012 presidential campaign.
Congratulations, Mitt
It was widely expected that former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney would win in his "own backyard" last night, and he did so in a very convincing manner. New Hampshire voters sent an unmistakable message: Mitt Romney is THE front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination.
The Romney campaign did not get a clear win in Iowa due to a late surge by Senator Rick Santorum, who essentially tied for first place. But there are no muddled messages coming out of New Hampshire this morning. Most analysts felt Governor Romney would win at least 35%, and he exceeded those expectations. Here are the results:
Romney 39% Paul 23% Huntsman 17% Gingrich 10% Santorum 9% Perry 1%
What's Next?
While Governor Romney scored a convincing win last night and heads to South Carolina with considerable momentum, the race is not over yet. South Carolina is not New Hampshire. For example:
A majority of voters in last night's New Hampshire primary were either Independents (47%) or Democrats (4%).
47% were Republicans.
53% identified as conservative, while 47% identified as moderate or liberal.
Only 22% of voters identified as born again or evangelical Christians.
In contrast, 2008 exit polls found that 69% of South Carolina's Republican primary voters were self-identified conservatives and 60% were evangelical Christians. In other words, South Carolina's GOP primary voters look much more like Iowa's than New Hampshire's. That is why candidates like Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry still have hope. And instead of just six days of campaigning between Iowa and New Hampshire, they have ten days to get their message out before the January 21st primary.
Ron Paul's Liberal Base
I think I have made my views of Ron Paul pretty clear in these daily reports. But I continue to be shocked and dismayed that I am hearing from so many self-identified Christian conservatives who claim that Ron Paul is the most conservative candidate in this race. The fact is, Ron Paul is the candidate who is attracting the most liberal voters. Why? Because they agree with him on foreign policy and values issues!
But don't take my word for it. Once again, the exit polls have revealed some fascinating information about Ron Paul's supporters. Here's a breakdown of the data from CNN's New Hampshire exit poll:
12% of voters had never voted in a GOP primary before, and most of them (40%) backed Paul.
Of the Democrats who voted in yesterday's GOP primary, 41% supported Jon Huntsman and 24% backed Ron Paul.
Of the 47% of Independents who voted yesterday, most of them (32%) backed Ron Paul.
16% of voters identified as "very liberal" on social issues such as abortion. 39% backed Ron Paul.
In contrast, 25% of voters identified as "very conservative" on social issues, and they split 29% for Romney and 24% for Santorum.
Here's more. A pre-election Rasmussen poll released yesterday morning found this disturbing information: Of the 18% of voters who had a "very favorable" opinion of Ron Paul, just 14% of them said they would back the GOP nominee if their favorite candidate (presumably Paul) did not win. But 16% indicated they would vote for Barack Obama and 66% said they would vote for a third party candidate.
Truth Matters
Edmund Burke famously observed, "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." It has happened time and again throughout history, and it may be the most compelling lesson of history. How did the Holocaust happen? Because good men did nothing.
How do you kill 11 million people? That is the question posed by New York Times best-selling author Andy Andrews. In fact, that is the title of his latest book. And what Andrews discovered in pondering that question is that truth matters.
Report: Homeland Security monitoring journalists, collecting personal data
Joe Newby
, Spokane Conservative Examiner
January 10, 2012
Imagine for a moment, that you write articles for any one of a number of political blogs, posting them on various social media websites. How would you feel knowing that the federal government has permission to monitor your activities and collect personal information about you?
Does the phrase "Big Brother" come to mind?
The Blaze reported Monday that the Department of Homeland Security now has permission under the National Operations Center (NOC)'s Media Monitoring Initiative to collect and retain personal information on "journalists, news anchors, reporters or anyone who uses 'traditional and/or social media in real time to keep their audience situationally aware and informed.'"
"We need to make sure that we tone things down, particularly in light of the Tucson tragedy from a year ago, where my very good friend, Gabby Giffords, who is doing really well, by the way," was shot, said Rep. Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla. "The discourse in America, the discourse in Congress in particular . . . has really changed, I'll tell you. I hesitate to place blame, but I have noticed it take a very precipitous turn towards edginess and lack of civility with the growth of the tea party movement."
The Washington Examiner reported that Wasserman Schultz - not known for her ability to engage in civil political rhetoric - continued:
David Axelrod: Jeremiah Wright the victim of selective editing
By Joe Newby, Spokane Conservative Examiner
According to David Axelrod, Obama's chief political strategist, reports of the radical statements made by Jeremiah Wright, the controversial former pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ, were the result of "selective editing," reports Joel B. Pollack of Big Government.
While speaking Tuesday at the Fred Kavli Theater in Thousand Oaks, CA, Axelrod characterized the reports as "ninety seconds of vitriol plucked from thirty years of sermons by some enterprising opposition researcher."
In 2008, ABC News reported that it had reviewed "dozens" of the pastor's sermons and found "repeated denunciations of the U.S. based on what he described as his reading of the Gospels and the treatment of black Americans."
Earlier this week, Mitt Romney got into trouble for saying, "I like being able to fire people who provide services to me." To comprehend why the political class reacted as if Romney had just praised Hitler, you must understand that his critics live in a world in which no one can ever be fired - a world known as "the government."
(And a tip for you Washington types: Just because a person became rich without working for government doesn't mean he is "Wall Street." A venture capital firm in Boston that tries to rescue businesses headed for bankruptcy, for example, is not "Wall Street.")
Romney's statement about being able to fire people was an arrow directed straight to the heart of Obamacare. (By the way, arrows to the heart are not covered by Obamacare.)
Talking about insurance providers, he said:
"I want individuals to have their own insurance. That means the insurance company will have an incentive to keep you healthy. It also means if you don't like what they do, you can fire them. I like being able to fire people who provide services to me. You know, if someone doesn't give me a good service that I need, I want to say I'm going to go get someone else to provide that service to me."
As projected, Mitt Romney pulled 40% of the votes in the New Hampshire primary election. Ron Paul finished in 2nd place and Jon Huntsmann was 3rd. After the results were announced, Romney delivered a speech described by many as "rousing." Watch it HERE.

Romney and McCain: The GOP Frenemies' Club By Michelle Malkin It's one thing to carefully dissect Romney's investments, as the Wall Street Journal did, and weigh his wins against his losses. It's quite another to shamelessly disparage those who work in private equities as immoral corporate raiders and avaricious job-killers, as Newt Gingrich, Rick Perry and Jon Huntsman have done.
In 2011, FAIR was there to let America know about the historic presidential power grab of congressional authority that produced controversial "Morton Memos" - seemingly innocuous "reprioritization" that has produced an administrative amnesty. FAIR warned of the dangers their new policies would cause to American citizens and the people's right to decide who gets to come to the U.S. FAIR is right there, and we have the fight of our lives.
The story below is typical -- but seeing it reported in the news is not:
Saul Chavez was previously convicted of a DUI, but was not handed over to ICE (Immigration Customs Enforcement) because he was lucky enough to be in Chicago, a proud Sanctuary City and home of the President's re-election machine. Chavez drove drunk again, this time killing 66-year-old father Dennis McCann.
Without penalty, Chicago police declined to hand Chavez over to ICE, allowing him to walk. Not surprisingly, Chavez skipped bail and will likely not be held accountable for killing an American citizen.
Because Chavez would likely have been convicted of homicide, he might qualify for deportation under Obama's new "reprioritization." But, remember, Chavez was convicted of a crime before he killed McCann. Under Obama's new priorities, Chavez would not have qualified as a priority since he was only convicted of a misdemeanor. Though he was here illegally and was found breaking our laws, Chicago allowed him to stay to break yet another law that devastatingly resulted in a man's death - this is the policy that Obama has adopted nationally.
Remember: this administration is also suing states that seek to get immigration laws enforced. Increasingly, counties and cities are getting the message: this president won't enforce the laws so we won't even honor ICE detainers. A true national crisis is upon us.
In 2012, FAIR will be here fighting to reverse these policies and to stop the resulting tragedies. Already this year, we have met with top ICE agents, are suing for release of more administration documents and are applying pressure where it's due. But we need your help. Your donation of $25, $50, or $100 will go a long way in fighting against immigration polices harmful to Americans.
We can't afford another four years of administrative amnesty and policies that reward those who break the law and demand special treatment. How many warning signs will we allow our government to ignore before there are more victims? Please stand with us.
Sincerely,
Dan Stein President

Bedridden Glenn calls into The 4th Hour
Bedridden Glenn has been lying down for almost 48 hours straight after severely injuring his back. He checked in with Stu and Pat via his bedroom telephone on today's Fourth Hour to give an update on exactly what happened and how he's feeling. Glenn also gave his thoughts on the New Hampshire primary, Ron Paul, and the latest gaffe from Meghan McCain. WATCH

Romney wins big in NH primary
As expected former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney scored a decisive victory in the New Hampshire primary yesterday, netting nearly 40% of the vote. Despite finishing in 2nd place and nearly 17 points behind Romney, Ron Paul says he's nipping at Romney's heels and urged all the rest of the candidates to drop out so he could take on Romney. Pretty sure that's not going to happen as it looks like all of the candidates will continue on to South Carolina. How are the candidates faring in SC? Full story on radio today. WATCH
Another Ron Paul caller he'd like to forget
Quite a shocking caller phoned in to radio today - a Ron Paul supporter who brought up a thoroughly debunked anti-Semitic conspiracy theory from the 19th century. Certainly this type of hate-filled crazy supporter calling prominent national radio shows isn't what Paul wants. But it keeps happening- here's the latest example.
Newt's legendary flip flop on Romney
Newt Gingrich claims he wanted to run a positive campaign, yet 15 minutes after Romney runs one 'attack' ad Gingrich releases a 30 minute documentary slamming Romney as a 'vulture' capitalist. Not exactly the rhetoric you want from a so-called 'Ronald Reagan' conservative running for President. It's an interesting attack considering just a few weeks ago Newt the 'angry attack muffin' was actually saying the exact opposite about Romney's time at Bain. Check out this John Kerry-esque flip flop.
Obama's distorted view of American history
President Barack Obama gave quite an interesting snapshot into his ideology yesterday when he talked about America and what he believes it was founded on. WARNING: Get out several rolls of duct tape and wrap it tightly around your head before listening to this clip from Obama. If you fail to do so and your head explodes -- don't say we didn't warn ya. Michelle Obama apparently wasn't kidding when she said Barack was going to 'change history' --- he's certainly trying! WATCH
Colbert surging in South Carolina? One polling company decided to place Stephen Colbert among the GOP candidates and see how the pretend news host fared. Who did he beat? You may be surprised. Look HERE.
FUBAR: America's primary system
America's primary system went under the microscope on radio today after a caller from Indiana phoned in to express how frustrated they are and how disenfranchised they feel because their primary is so late in the season and the candidate will likely be decided by then. Why don't we have a national primary? Why does Iowa and New Hampshire get so much say in selecting our Presidential candidates? Why not Rhode Island? Or Delaware? Check out the debate on radio today.
