Blockbuster Ruling: Iran, Hezbollah Involved in 9/11
Ryan Mauro
The killing of Osama Bin Laden in May brought a sense of resolution to Americans, but a ruling by a federal judge shows justice has not been delivered. In a decision that should forever change the story of 9/11 and the West's Middle East policy, Judge George Daniels has just ruled that Iran and Hezbollah are responsible for 9/11.
Judge Daniels concluded that 9/11 happened because of Iran and Hezbollah's direct support for the plotters, especially the hijackers, and probably would not have happened without it. The evidence presented in court goes even further, strongly indicating that 9/11 was a joint operation between Al-Qaeda and the Iranian regime. It took over 10 years after 9/11 for Iran's covert involvement to be exposed, a frightening testament to the ineptitude of our intelligence community and the experts who assured us that Iran would never work with Bin Laden's terrorist group or directly target the U.S.
Eight law firms acting under the leadership of Thomas E. Mellon presented reams of publicly-available information and over 25 hours of testimony from three Iranian intelligence defectors, whose accounts were deemed credible by Judge Daniels. The three defectors provided first-hand information to prove the culpability of Iran and Hezbollah.

Thomas Jefferson: "Whensoever the general government assumes undelegated powers....a nullification of the act is the rightful remedy."
But what IS nullification? How does it happen and work? Since September 2010, the Tenth Amendment Center has been hosting a national tour to educate and activate people on this topic. People are learning the constitutional basis, when it's been used in history, and how it is happening around the country and how YOU can stop DC right in your own state.

Remember January 3rd, 2007 The Day The Democrats Took Over!
I wonder how many people know this?
The day the Democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009 -- it was actually January 3rd 2007. The day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives & Senate, the start of the 110th Congress.
The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.
"For those of you who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is "Bush's Fault," think about this:
January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress:
At the time: The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77 The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5% The Unemployment rate was 4.6%
George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!
Remember the day. |

The Case Against Obamacare: Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress
A Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress
Building on decades of Heritage research, The Case Against Obamacare: A Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress examines 15 key provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Each report:
- Cites specific sections of the 2,700-page health care law
- Provides detailed analysis of specific Obamacare provisions
- Identifies key principles for a better way to reform health care
The unmistakable conclusion of this series is that Obamacare must be fully repealed. Congress cannot build sound market-based health care reform on the flawed foundation of this health care law. Until it can be repealed, Congress must employ its full powers authorized by the Constitution to:

NEW GALLUP POLL: NUTJOB RON PAUL ONLY GETS 7% OF THE TEA PARTY VOTE

In fact, Tea Party Fort Lauderdale, America's longest running tea party, recently held a straw poll for it's members asking for our choice of candidate as POTUS, and also the man or woman we thought would make the worst president. And unlike the usual straw polls that the delusional paulbots spam up, this poll was only open to actual group members.
And our straw poll numbers validated the Gallup poll numbers. Ron Paul finished with Jon Huntsman as THE ONLY TWO PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES to pull in less than 5% support from our group. However, the left wing cancer that Paul spreads was not appreciated by our conservative members as career politican Paul overwhelmingly won as the candidate we least wanted to see as president, winning that dubious honor by a huge margin over our second place loser(Huntsman).

Northeastern University Mum on Radical Chaplain
December 21, 2011 Steven Emerson
Northeastern University isn't commenting about concerns regarding its Muslim chaplain, despite his recorded statements praising an attempted attack on American forces in Afghanistan as "brave" and his earlier call for Muslims to "grab on to the gun and the sword" to fight injustice.
On Monday, the Investigative Project on Terrorism reported on remarks Abdullah Faaruuq made during a Dec. 8 fundraiser for Aafia Siddiqui, also known as "Lady al-Qaida." Siddiqui, an MIT-educated neuroscientist, was arrested by Afghan officials in 2008, who found notes about mass casualty attacks in her possession. During questioning by U.S. officials, she grabbed an Army officer's M-4 rifle and fired it at the Americans.
"What a brave woman she is," Faaruuq said at the fundraiser. "What a brave woman she continues to be, and how much her bravery and her faith and her belief warrants our support at this time." Had his mother been in Siddiqui's shoes, "she would have took (sic) her West Indian machete and cut her way through those kafirs [unbelievers]."
Siddiqui was convicted of attempted murder and is serving an 86-year prison sentence.
The Investigative Project for Terrorism contacted university spokesmen Monday afternoon, asking whether Faaruuq's endorsement of Siddiqui's actions and other radical statements make him an appropriate person to provide spiritual counseling to Northeastern students. The university has not responded.

The Greatness of Kim Jong Il
Dec 23, 2011 05:13 am | Coach Collins
By James Lewis, staff writer
The moral rot of the left is on full display this week. Look at the media portrayal of two deaths, one a hero of freedom in Eastern Europe, the other a sleazy mass-murdering tyrant of the worst kind. The perverse left covered Kim Jong Il's evil rear end in posthumous kisses, while managing to gloss over the life and passing of Vaclav Havel, one of the heroes of the liberation of Eastern Europe from the Soviet Empire.
This tells us exactly what kind of people our media lefties are, doesn't it? All the preening arrogance of the left crumbles right in front of our eyes as soon as they are asked to tell good from evil.
This isn't hard, kids. It's Sesame Street. The people who kill and torture and starve millions of human beings are "evil." Those who liberate millions of people by virtue of their courage and moral rectitude are "good." ... Continue Reading:The Greatness of Kim Jong Il

The suicidal immigration habits of the Republican Party

Allan Wall is a Texan who lived and worked for years in Mexico and writes a column for vdare.com on U.S. and Mexican cultural differences with the eyes of a Christian humanist. Allan shares his thoughts with Bill McIntosh on Mexico, Mexicans and the US.
"Republican leaders promote the importation of future Democratic party voters! It's suicidal. ...If present trends continue, the GOP is headed for permanent minority status." -Allan Wall
You lived in Mexico many years. What can Mexicans teach us about preventing voter fraud?
The Mexican voter registration system is a good one. It includes several elements. One is a government-issued registration card with name, fingerprints, and a holographic image. Also, at the voting station the poll workers have a book with a photograph of every voter in the precinct, which they can compare with the card and the voter's physical appearance. After voting, each voter's thumb is smudged with ink ... Continue Reading:The suicidal immigration habits of the Republican Party

Afghanistan: 2014 and beyond
Dec 24, 2011 05:13 am | Coach Collins
By Jim Emerson, staff writer
In an interview with The New York Times Gen. John R. Allen suggested that American Troops may possibly remain in Afghanistan beyond 2014 despite a previous pledge from President Obama that the bulk of troops would be withdrawn before then. The general's remarks were the first official statement that the United States military intends to maintain a presence in Afghanistan for years.
The general expects that NATO military advisors will take over the current mission in Afghanistan to train Afghan troops starting in 2012. Still more would arrive in 2013 as the Afghan security forces were asked to do more. Gradually the security of the country will be the responsibility of the Afghan military. He emphasized the need for long-term support military and civilian commitment to the Afghan government to prevent what is currently happening in Iraq and what happened in Vietnam.

Why Eric Holder covered up the 1995 Trentadue murder Dec 23, 2011 01:13 pm | Coach Collins by Doug Book, staff writer From documents obtained by Jesse Trentadue, it's clear that Clinton Administration Deputy Attorney General Eric Holder and his DOJ team had conspired to squelch any investigation into the August, 1995 murder of Trentadue's brother Kenneth. (1) But the obvious question is WHY? And why kill Kenneth Trentadue at all? He was no more than a face in the crowd, hardly distinguished or distinguishable from tens of millions of others throughout the United States. What would move the Deputy Attorney General to animate resources of the United States Justice Department to make certain there would be no hearing, no investigation, no grand jury indictment, not the least question raised about his death? Four months prior to Kenneth Trentadue's murder the Oklahoma City bombing had taken place. Tim McVeigh and Terry Nichols were found guilty of the 168 deaths which occurred that day and McVeigh was eventually executed while Nichols was sentenced to ... The Oklahoma City bombing: FBI sting gone wrong or murderous conspiracy for federal acquisition of power Dec 26, 2011 05:13 am | Coach Collins by Doug Book When Salt Lake City attorney Jesse Trentadue filed a 1997 wrongful death lawsuit against the Clinton Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Prisons he had no idea that the scraps of information grudgingly released by the federal government would be the first in a 15 year trail of evidence detailing the criminal involvement of the FBI, CIA, ATF and United States Secret Service in the planning and execution of the Oklahoma City bombing. Since the 1995 murder of his brother Kenneth in his cell at the Federal Transfer Center in Oklahoma City, Trentadue has badgered, bullied, harassed, threatened and sued by the federal government of the United States. His Freedom of Information Act requests and inevitable lawsuits against those government agencies which have rigorously ignored them have provided extraordinary evidence of federal intrigue spanning 3 White House administrations. "And Mary brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name Jesus." Matthew 1:25 Dec 25, 2011 12:13 pm | Coach Collins By Suzanne Eovaldi, staff writer A young quarterback who dropped to his knee after humiliating the Chicago Bears in an unbelievable overtime win is doing more to exemplify his faith in God to our young people than a president's dismissive Sunday golf games. The example of Tim Tebow's mother refusing to abort him when her doctors told her to do so is in stunning contrast to Barack Obama's actions in the Illinois State Senate when he voted against the Baby Born Alive bill. Remember when he said soon upon entering the White House that America is no longer a Christian nation? Just go to tebowing.com to see pictures of people dropping to a knee in prayer! Another quarterback survived the Hell of nearly eight years of torture in Viet Nam's Hanoi HIlton by his deep faith in God. How far Barack Obama and Eric Holder have subverted American freedoms Dec 27, 2011 05:13 am | Coach Collins By Kevin "Coach" Collins We know that Eric Holder is a liar and a criminal facilitator based on what we have learned about his conduct in the Fast and Furious crimes. We are now finding out Holder has been a Democrat "cleaner" and cover up artist for as far back as the Oklahoma City bombing and maybe Waco and Ruby Ridge as well. Holder is a despicable excuse for a human being and that is why Obama appointed him. We should have recognized this lowlife's traits when he not only refused to prosecute "his people" the armed Black Panthers who intimidated Whites attempting to vote, but hounded and harassed any of his deputies who attempted to bring them to justice. This criminal posing as our Attorney General and his equally anti American boss in the White House have succeeded in turning the purpose of the Department of Justice (DoJ) 180 degrees away from its original ... American Minute December 26 Dec 26, 2011 04:13 pm | Coach Collins By Bill Federer, staff writer The first six months of the Revolution saw the Continental Army chased out of New York, across New Jersey, and into Pennsylvania. Ranks dwindled from 20,000 to 2,000 exhausted soldiers- most leaving at year's end when their six-month enlistment was up. Expecting a British invasion, the Continental Congress fled Philadelphia and sent the word: "Until Congress shall otherwise order, General Washington shall be possessed of full power to order and direct all things." In a military operation, with the password "Victory or Death," Washington's troops crossed the ice-filled Delaware River at midnight Christmas Day. Trudging in a blinding blizzard, with one soldier freezing to death, they attacked the feared Hessian troops at Trenton, New Jersey, on daybreak DECEMBER 26, 1776, capturing nearly a thousand in just over an hour. A few Americans were shot and wounded, including James Monroe, the future 5th President. Washington wrote August 20, 1778: ... Of all those out front, Perry is the only choice, unfortunately. Romney is being forced on us by the media and democrats, in the same manner Dole and McCain were. He has nothing going for him except that he is next in line in a RINO filled GOP. He has an uncanny ability to be on both sides of an issue, and, if anyone notices, it is to their detriment, not his. The legacy of Chanukah - faith, patriotism, defiance of extreme odds and tenacity in the battle of liberty against tyranny - has underlined the American spirit since the early Pilgrims, enhancing the unique foundation of the US-Israel covenant: shared values.
For instance, the statue of Judah the Maccabee, the hero of the Jewish rebellion against the Syrian-Seleucid Empire, is displayed at the West Point Military Academy, the most prestigious US military academy, founded in 1802. The statue of Judah the Maccabee, known for his principle-driven leadership and daring battle tactics, is displayed along with the statues of Joshua, David, Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Hector, King Arthur, Charlemagne and Godfrey of Bouillon - "the Nine Worthies." George Washington became acquainted with the spirit of the Maccabees, upon settling, in December...

MK Danny Danon wants a law allowing the Knesset to expel "fifth column" members. His target: IHH flotilla participant Hanin Zoabi
By Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu, INN
Likud Knesset Member Danny Danon is preparing a proposed law to allow the Knesset to expel any member who supports terrorists or acts to undermine the country.
His bill is in response to last week's decision by Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein to close the investigation against Arab MK Hanin Zoabi, who participated in the May 2009 flotilla sponsored by the Turkish terror-linked IHH organization. Dozens of IHH members on the Mavi Marmara boat brutally clubbed, shot, knifed and kidnapped Israeli navy commandos, who had warned the boat to change its course from Hamas-controlled Gaza. The commandos eventually were able to overtake their attackers, nine of whom were killed in the clash. Zoabi was on board but was not in the group of attackers. She was not injured.
Zoabi belongs in jail and not in the Knesset, MK Danon...

You wouldn't expect George Soros' tentacles here, or would you? Group promoting 'peace' in Middle East tied to Occupy, MoveOn, ACORN, more
By Aaron Klein
JERUSALEM - J Street, the supposedly pro-Israel, pro-peace political action committee and lobbyist group, is actually backed by a controversial far-left clearinghouse financed by billionaire George Soros, WND has learned.
J Street claims to be pro-Israel, yet it has faced mounting criticism for its policies and advocacy that many argue is harmful to the Jewish state.
J Street's executive director, Jeremy Ben Ami, is himself deeply tied to the controversial group, the Tides Center, which is heavily financed by Soros. Ben Ami served at a radical-led marketing firm that helps to craft the public relations strategy for Tides grantees, including MoveOn. The firm, Fenton Communications, also has represented Soros himself as well as the billionaire's Open Society Institute.

[What a difference the 49th parallel makes. Ted Belman]
It's good that the Ministry of Public Safety has decided to introduce amendments to the existing Anti-Terrorism Act of Canada. These recommendations, if approved, will strengthen measures to address the ongoing threat of radicalization and terrorism in the country. The revised Anti-Terrorism Act would outlaw terrorist training, as well as the glorification of terror, martyrdom and violence. One would have imagined that such provisions were already in existence under Canada's terrorism laws, as they must be considered an imperative in today's tense political climate. Outlawing incitement to violence and prohibiting the dissemination of its mechanisms seem logical and necessary. Even so, such measures may engender considerable controversy under Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
Glorifying terror and its related ideologies may appear especially controversial as...

White Supremacists Rally Around Ron Paul's Newsletter Scandal
by Adam Martin
Ron Paul's latest flap over a series of racist newsletters has won him the support of a group no politician wants on their side: White supremacists. And it's not the first time, either. The Republican presidential candidate is a perennial favorite among those on the white supremacist message board Stormfront, where he's getting all kinds of unabashed support for his campaign, his newsletters, and his political persona in general.
For the sake of your browsing history, we're going to put a * next to links that will take you to Stormfront or sites like it. We could have used one of those from Slate's Dave Wiegel when he tweeted today: "Shockingly, Stormfront commenters believe that Paul's newsletters are right and awesome," with a link that led to a very white-power themed discussion* of how great Paul was when he walked off a CNN interview Wednesday....

The evidence is building that the US and Israel will stop Iran. Aside from the revelations in this article and others, a consensus seems to be growing. DEBKAfile Exclusive Report December 22, 2011, Iran has embarked on "activities related to possible weaponization," said American sources Wednesday, Dec. 22, thereby accounting for the dramatic reversal of the Obama administration's wait-and-see attitude on attacking Iran. The change was articulated this week by US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Chairman of the Joint US Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey. debkafile's Washington sources report that the Islamic Republic crossed the red line President Barack Obama had set for the United States, i.e., when Tehran begins using the technologies and fissile materials (enriched uranium) it has amassed for assembling a bomb or missile warheads. The title to this article is too optimistic. Controlling Guns, Controlling People
A new history shows how gun control goes hand in hand with fear of black people-and The People.
Thaddeus Russell from the January 2012 issue
I first learned about the contradictions of gun politics when I was about 10 years old, growing up in the radical milieu of 1970s Berkeley. My mother and stepfather were members of a revolutionary organization called the International Socialists. Although the group's members were mostly bookish nerds with little taste for violence, their inspiration was Leon Trotsky, who led the Bolsheviks' armed insurrection in 1917 and then headed up the Red Army, which killed hundreds of thousands of the Soviet regime's opponents in the ensuing civil war. Because my parents' politics were primarily an exercise in middle-class intellectual fantasy, I was never exposed to real violence or even violent rhetoric, and they never owned a gun.
My stepfather's best friend, Jeff, who lived in a cottage behind ours, was a member of the Spartacist League, a rival Trotskyist organization that was less shy about the violent implications of its rhetoric. The Spartacists were known for physically attacking strikebreakers and Klansmen and for rumbling with Maoists over the imagined turf of the Bay Area's revolutionary working class. One day I happened upon Jeff cleaning a pistol at his kitchen table. Despite the fact that his and my parents' hero was one of the greatest perpetrators of gun violence in the 20th century, I somehow saw guns as not only scary but also right-wing and politically "bad." I told Jeff I hated guns and wished they all would be rounded up and melted down. "But we can't have a revolution without them," he said with a sanguine smile. Read more: |

Thou Shalt Lie...How Islam Uses Slander and Lying to Advance Shariah
Under Islamic law (shariah), the definition of "slander" is very different than in the U.S. legal system. The Islamic book of law, The Reliance of the Traveller (or 'Umdat al-Salik) says that "Slander (ghiba) means to mention anything concerning a person [a Muslim] that he would dislike." Likewise, the hadiths (or recounted sayings and deeds of Muhammad) contain the following account : "Do you know what slander is?" They answered, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "It is to mention of your brother that which he would dislike." Someone asked, "What if he is as I say?" And he replied, "If he is as you say, you have slandered him, and if not, you have calumniated* him." -- Sunan Abu Dawud For a totalitarian system of societal control like shariah, information dominance is very important. Controlling the message, in other words, is critical. Within the Muslim community, fostering close bonds of loyalty is well-served by a policy like this one on slander. Its real impact for non-Muslims, though, is a little different. The prohibition on telling harbi (non-Muslim residents of Dar al-Harb, the lands where inhabitants do not live under shariah) anything negative about Islam is meant to keep infidels unaware of the true character and intentions of shariah-promoting Muslims. In fact, telling the actual truth about Islam to non-believers is considered so detrimental to the prospects for shariah Islam to achieve its global domination objectives that Muslims can be subject to punishment if they disclose such things. This explains why smiling imams in Armani suits with nicely-trimmed beards can be heard speaking in soothing tones to gullible non-Muslims about how shariah is just like the U.S. Constitution, and shariah-adherent Muslims are just like any other citizens of liberal democracies, or Islam really means "peace" - while in Arabic, to Muslim audiences, they don't hesitate to talk about jihad, suicide bombing, and killing Jews. This is the legally-sanctioned code of silence that is imposed and enforced within Islam and goes hand-in-hand with the Islamic concept of taqiyya (which means deceit or dissimulation). Lying outright is but another degree of deceit beyond taqiyya and is also legally sanctioned under Islamic law in certain circumstances. Although Muslims usually are not supposed to lie to one another (except to smooth over differences between friends, when talking to one's wife, or in war), they are positively encouraged to lie to infidels if it helps defend Islam or themselves personally, as Muslims. Taken together, these concepts of slander, taqiyya, and lying are intended to form an impenetrable shield for the defense and spread of shariah Islam. Behind the shield, Muslims stick together and cling to Islamic doctrine and laws. As Sayyed Qutb (the Muslim Brotherhood ideologue) said, between Muslims and non-Muslims, lies a chasm that no bridge may span that would merely allow the two sides to mingle together in unregulated exchange. Only messages that put Islam and Muslims in a positive, non-threatening light may be sent across the void to encourage non-Muslims to come over to the Muslim side. This point is especially important for faith-based communities and national security and law enforcement professionals to understand because of its implications for favorite programs like "outreach" and "interfaith dialogue." There is one more aspect to these laws that needs to be explained, especially regarding slander. It is not only forbidden for Muslims to tell anything unflattering about Islam and other Muslims, but it is also obligatory for Muslims to try to get non-Muslims (infidels) to refrain from saying anything about Islam that would deter potential converts or alert others to shariah Islam's predatory intentions. Taqiyya and lying are such integral tools for shariah-adherent Muslims to use in dealing with non-believers who do not understand such things because once members of the clergy, or police officers, or government officials are won over, they often become penetrations of their own worship communities, departments, and agencies to help spread duplicitous messages about shariah Islam inside non-Muslim society. Such "useful fools" are, in fact, acting as agents of influence and force multipliers for shariah Islam. When properly conditioned, these rabbis, priests, ministers, police chiefs, and national security advisors will even act as "enforcers" inside their own communities. This takes the form of imposing restrictions on those under their supervision to prevent them from speaking (or hearing) truth about shariah Islam, jihad, and doctrinally-inspired Islamic terrorism. What they do, in fact, is enforce shariah laws on slander among non-Muslims and even within national security and policymaking arenas....with catastrophic results for any society that wants to remain shariah-free. Truth and transparency are not only the hallmarks of a free society: they are its armor and shield. Free speech, free expression, and freedom of thought are the precious rights of a free people-but they must be defended to remain ours-and above all, they must be used and exercised on a regular basis. Clare M. Lopez, a senior fellow at the Clarion Fund , is a strategic policy and intelligence expert with a focus on Middle East, national defense, and counterterrorism issues. *Calumniate - to charge falsely or with malicious intent; attack the good name and reputation of someone Under Islamic law (shariah), the definition of "slander" is very different than in the U.S. legal system. The Islamic book of law, The Reliance of the Traveller (or 'Umdat al-Salik') says that "Slander (ghiba) means to mention anything concerning a person [a Muslim] that he would dislike." THE GATES OF HELL
About twenty years ago I was the first person at the scene of a tragedy and discovered a man who was missing his head. That was a sight that bothered me for years, and then about two years ago I entered an internet site, and immediately clicked back out of it for there on a gurney was another headless man. Research that I was doing led me back to that hideous sight several months later and to my everlasting disgust, I found that it was not the photograph of a headless man, but of a twelve year old girl who had been murdered for trying to get an education in an Islamic world that fears knowledge. To add to the horror I found that she did not die alone, as several of her friends were also beheaded and another young lady who managed to escape will bear a serious scar for life from a machete that hit the side of her face and her throat. What I have learned of the cult of death called Islam, the so called "Religion of Peace," has changed me forever. Since then I have viewed videos and photos of the vicious, barbarous acts that no human being should ever see, mainly because the inhumanity found in those photos should not exist on the planet Earth. The things that I have learned about Islam have given me a resolve to reveal to all that will look and listen, that this evil, which now lives among us is so appalling that it must be pushed back to the deserts of death from which it sprang. I can now grasp the full meaning of the word "Quandary," for I am facing one. I would not want any human being of good faith to see the photographs of pure evil that I have collected. The other side of the quandary is that I want everyone to see these images of things far worse than mere death, for all should be aware that such evil exists, and never ever let anyone tell you otherwise. A day after U.S. withdrawal, a sectarian compromise unravels.
Iraq's fragile political ecosystem was sure to be tested after the Obama Administration pulled out all U.S. troops to cash a campaign chip. Only the speed and gravity of the crisis now unfolding comes as a surprise.
In hosting Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki last week at the White House, President Obama hailed Iraq as "sovereign, self-reliant and democratic." Mr. Maliki returned home and promptly began a putsch against his Sunni coalition partners.
Before television cameras on Monday, the Maliki government laid out lurid terrorism charges against Vice President Tariq al-Hashemi, a Sunni leader, and issued a warrant for his arrest. Mr. Hashemi fled to the autonomous northern Kurdish region. Two days later, Mr. Maliki signalled his readiness to break up his multisect coalition and moved to unseat his Sunni deputy prime minister. He ordered the Kurds to "hand over" Mr. Hashemi or face "problems."

For the eight days of Chanukah, it is common to see a candelabra with eight lights and one light above it, shining here and there, in the windows of stores and hallways, in people's homes and even on intersections. Some are filled with oil, while others are topped with candles. Some tower high overhead and some are child sized. But all have eight lights and one above it, and all commemorate the same occasion. Many nations have religious holidays and days of national liberation and independence, however rarely do the two come together quite in the way that Chanukah does. That is because Chanukah is a commemoration of national liberation from the rule of the Syrian-Greek empire ruled by Antiochus IV and a commemoration of the hand of divine influence in inspiring and accomplishing that liberation. The Jews throughout history have had a way of getting in the way of great empires. The Egyptians, the Philistines, the Assyrians, Babylonians and Persians had all tried to enslave and destroy the Jewish people. A few thousand years ago after an Egyptian Pharaoh had first gotten the bright idea to clap chains on the Jewish refugees who had been serving as his faithful shepherds and send them off to build the pyramids, Antiochus IV, like so many kings before him, decided that ruling over his empire would be simpler and easier without the Jews in it. Where Pharaoh had embarked on that process by throwing male Jewish babies into the Nile, to please one of his many gods while carrying out a genocide that was meant to destroy the Jewish people and integrate what was left into Egypt-- Antiochus IV focused not on physical extermination, but cultural annihilation. The fundamental books of Jewish life, the scriptures that gave the Jewish people meaning and identity were destroyed.and banned. Some accepted the decree out of fear or even with enthusiasm. Others however rose up and resisted. War came between the handfuls of Jewish Maccabee partisans and the armies of Antiochus IV's Selecuid empire. A war that had its echoes in the past and would have it again in the future as lightly armed and untrained armies of Jewish soldiers would go on to fight in that same land and those same hills and valleys against the Romans and eventually the armies of six Arab nations. The Syrian Greek armies were among the best of their day. The Maccabees were the sons of the priesthood living in the backwaters of Israel, members of a nation that had not been independently ruled since the Babylonian hordes had flooded across the land, destroying everything in their path. Since then a shifting mass of nations and rulers had sat on their thrones while the Jews had bowed their heads.

Complaints halt Muslim author's visit to school
December 23, 2011
Lisa Abdelsalam said she feels "like she swallowed poison" in the days since the threat of parental protests caused the Muslim mother and author to cancel a talk with students at A.M. Kulp Elementary School in Hatfield.
"I have a such a sick feeling in my stomach," said Abdelsalam, 48, who lives in Colmar with her husband and children, all of whom were or are North Penn students.
Born in Lansdale, the 1981 North Penn High School graduate converted to Islam at 19, when she married her husband, who is from Egypt.
As she has many times at many North Penn schools, she was scheduled to meet with several Kulp classes over four days earlier this month to discuss how she wrote and published her book, "A Song for Me, A Muslim Holiday Story," based on her son Yoseph's experiences at York Avenue Elementary in the 1990s.

A Christmas warning
ALAN KEYES - In scripture, when His chosen people take to worshipping other gods, the Lord God Almighty refers to their apostasy as "whoring" and "adultery." The masses weeping over the death of Kim Jong Il and the frantic online defenders of Ron Paul have something in common, it isn't the man they care about. It's what he represents. The course of events that took a cranky Texas congressman and turned him into the made man of a motley crew of online gambling entrepreneurs, racists, conspiracy theorists and the whole big circus tent filled with offshore accounts, UFO landing sites and copies of the Turner Diaries is an odd one, but not a completely unusual one. Cults of personality are not about the man, but about the need that he fills in his followers. There is a point at which every dictator, rock star and celebrity realizes that it is the people who adore him that are in charge and all he can do is ride the wave of adulation. The men don't matter, the reasons why people seize on them do matter. Why Ron Paul? Because like so many at the center of a cult of personality, he is everything to everyone. The big tent he presides over is full of people who don't agree on very much. They are a nexus of opposition to 'everything', but they're also a collection of groups that splinter faster than old wood in a thunderstorm. Ron Paul's program which is big on ambitious assaults on the government, but short on the details, finesses many of those disagreements. Gay rights? Abortion? Immigration? If you squint and only pay attention to the right statements, then Ron Paul is for you. Like Santa's little elves, his followers spread his selective word by focusing in on target demographics and barraging them with talking points that make it seem like Ron Paul is on their side. Whose side is Ron Paul on? Most likely his own.

Former Aide: Ron Paul is 'Most Certainly Anti-Israel'
A former senior aide to GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul claims Ron Paul "wishes the Israeli state did not exist at all."
By Chana Ya'ar
12/27/2011
A former senior aide to GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul has decided to "set the record straight" in a 'tell all' post on the Right Wing News blog -- and in the process, has confirmed that Paul wishes "the Israeli state did not exist at all."
Eric Dondero served as former senior aide to Paul when he was a U.S. Congressman from 1997 to 2003, and worked closely with the candidate as an aide since 1988.
"I've noticed in some media that my words have been twisted and used for an agenda from both sides," Dondero wrote, explaining from the outset why he had decided to set forth his views in such a blunt manner, on the site that he chose. "I wish to set the record straight with media that I trust and know will get the story right: conservative/libertarian-conservative bloggers."
Ron Paul is not a racist, Dondero wrote. "I never heard a racist word expressed towards Blacks or Jews come out of his mouth. Not once," he wrote. "Is Ron Paul an Anti-Semite? Absolutely No. As a Jew, (half on my mother's side), I can categorically say... No slurs. No derogatory remarks."
However, the candidate's feelings about Israel versus the Palestinian Authority are another matter entirely, Dondero wrote.

Who's been naughty, who's been nice?
Americans are blessed to have inherited a constitutional republic. If we are to keep it, we must vigilantly preserve the Constitution upon which it stands. As 2011 draws to a close, we made a list (and checked it twice!) of the year's most important constitutional trends.
Nice: Congress begins to rediscover its (atrophied) constitutional muscles
Congress kicked off the year with unprecedented reverence for the Constitution. Congress began the session with a ceremonial reading of the Constitution on the house floor, and then adopted a new rule that requires any proposed bill to cite its constitutional authority. While admirable, these measures have thus far failed to achieve their intended result. The potential solemnity of the reading ceremony was tainted by petty disputes and goofy mistakes (an entire section was skipped) and the citation rule has become little more than an exercise in box checking. Congress still has a long way to go, but its newfound constitutional courage marks a welcome change from Pelosi's "are you serious?" approach to the Constitution.
Nice: Grassroots Constitutionalism Stays Strong
Of course, Congress didn't just decide to prioritize the constitution on a whim. The credit lies with the American people who have become fed up with government excesses. From their spontaneous origins in 2009, grassroots movements such as the Tea Party had gained enough strength by the 2010 elections to send Congress a strong message to respect the Constitution. From the many Constitution Day festivals across the nation to the numerous Tea Party rallies and the joint CNN/Tea Party primary debate, 2011 saw everyday Americans continue their efforts to restore limited, constitutional government.
Naughty: Constitutional Lawmaking Undermined
One of the most disturbing trends of 2011 was the Obama Administration's willingness to skirt the Constitution's law making process. In September, the Obama administration openly bypassed Congress by unilaterally issuing waivers to exempt states from the requirements of No Child Left Behind. Even more outrageous, Obamacare waivers (giving relief from the law's most costly provisions) were given almost exclusively to political allies of the administration such as labor unions and Harry Reid's home state of Nevada. Fully 20% went to unions and businesses (including luxury restaurants and financial firms) in Nancy Pelosi's congressional district in San Francisco.
Naughty: Runaway Bureaucrats
Despite the country's woes, bureaucrats had no qualms about burdening an already struggling economy with billions of dollars of (sometimes bizarre) regulations. Public outcry put an end to a few of the most ridiculous regulation such as the "Christmas tree tax." But since bureaucrats are unelected and uncountable to Congress, they were largely undeterred. The Environmental Protection Agency, for example, usurped Congress's legislative authority and issued new vehicle fuel-efficiency standards that (by its own estimates) will cost the economy $8.5 billion per year and raise the price of cars by at least $2,000. Just what we need to help the economy. Nice: Congress tries to rein in Bureaucrats
This year Congress finally began to take practical steps to regain control of the legislative process. Most importantly, the House passed the REINS Act and the Regulatory Accountability Act, which would give Congress much needed authority to restrain the excesses of unaccountable bureaucrats. Although these bills are unlikely to pass the Senate, they have succeeded in turning public scrutiny upon the nation's regulatory agencies and-most importantly-in creating a solid precedent for future reform efforts.
Nice: Constitutional Threats Averted
An important constitutional victory this year was the resounding defeat (at least for now) of the unconstitutional nullification movement. Several state legislatures attempted to declare Obamacare null and void and block federal laws in their state. Repealing Obamacare is certainly a key goal, but nullification has no basis in constitutional law and violates the whole idea of constitutional government. Ultimately, nullification was defeated in every state in which it was proposed. Equally crucial (though less decisively successful) was the vigilant opposition to the National Popular Vote movement (NPV), the scheme to replace the Electoral College by means of a constitutionally dubious interstate compact. Although it gained worrisome support in 2011, conservative organizations from ALEC to the Heritage Foundation were quick to warn of the constitutional and practical dangers of NPV. Thanks in part to these efforts, NPV continues to fall well short of the number of states needed bring the compact into effect. Nice: Constitutional Challenge to Obamacare
While the nullification efforts were roundly defeated, conservatives did mount a very successful constitutional challenge to Obamacare. Several states passed a Health Care Freedom Act designed to provoke a legal challenge to Obamacare. A majority of states and several individuals then brought lawsuits against Obamacare. Appellate courts upheld some cases and struck down others. Most significantly, the U.S. Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a suit brought by 26 states and the National Federation of Independent Business and declared the individual mandate unconstitutional. On November 14th, the Supreme Court announced that it would rule on the 11th Circuit Court's decision in June 2012.
Naughty: Progressives Run Wild
2011 was above all a year of unbridled Progressivism. Ostensibly organized to protest crony capitalism, the Occupy Wall Street movement quickly devolved into unruly factions seeking redistributive government programs. In stark contrast to the Tea Party's peaceful support of the Constitution, the occupiers blatantly disregarded property rights and the rule of law and denounced America's representative government. Such prominent progressives as Peter Orzag and North Carolina's Governor Bev Purdue suggested that America needs "less democracy" and more centralized administration. In his seminal speech in Osawatomie, Obama drew upon populist rhetoric to advocate a thoroughly progressive vision of government where bureaucratic experts enforce political and economic "fairness" rather than letting the American people govern themselves.

Morning Bell: Top 10 Education Stories of 2011
Lindsey Burke
December 27, 2011
There was no lack of education news in 2011. From an explosion in school choice options to the Obama Administration's executive overreach, the top stories included the high and low lights when it came to issues affecting America's schools.
10. Obama Administration orchestrates for-profit university witch hunt. On June 2, the Department of Education issued restrictive new regulations targeting "for-profit" higher education institutions. The new "gainful employment" regulation restricts access to student loans for students attending for-profit institutions (like Capella University or the University of Phoenix, for instance) if the school's average debt-to-earnings ratio exceeds 12 percent of a graduate's income. The net result? De-facto government price controls on a sector meeting the needs of students historically underserved by traditional universities.
