Rothschilds Give Formal Support to US Direct Democracy?
Wednesday, December 07, 2011 - by Staff Report
The words of Irish poet William Butler Yeats in his poem, The Second Coming, have an eerie resonance for American politics today. "Things fall apart; the center cannot hold... The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity. Surely some revelation is at hand." In an environment of unprecedented political gridlock in Washington and broad-based dissatisfaction with the leading candidates of both parties, 2012 may finally be the year when an independent candidate becomes president of the United States. - Lynn Forester de Rothschild / Huffington Post
Dominant Social Theme: The heck with this two-party stuff. Let's simply elect the best technocrat.
Free-Market Analysis: What an editorial at Huffington Post by Lynn Forester de Rothschild! In it, she makes the point that "some revelation is at hand" - and mostly likely it has to do with the reality of a genuine third-party challenge to put a candidate in the White House.
Is Ms. Rothschild suggesting Congressman Ron Paul is about to win the US presidency? (Not sure about this.) A close reading of the article, however, reveals something that may be even more radical. Ms. Rothschild is arguing for, wait for it ... "direct democracy." That is, electing candidates directly, by majority vote, at the federal level, presumably without the fuss of the current two-party system.
We've written about the dominant social theme of direct democracy before. The governor of New York, Michael Bloomberg - an elitist worker-bee if there ever was one - is a big supporter of an element of direct democracy, which includes the elimination of the two-party system.
But what is it REALLY? Well ... it is basically a full implementation of the USSR's communist system that died 20 years ago! The idea is that a technocracy of the elite can present candidates who are the most "competent" at administration. The corollary to this, of course, is that one must accept EVERY FACET of the CURRENT system to accept that one is voting purely for competence.

Subject: YOUR IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED Jan Rogers
Important legislation going on in Washington;
Remember, not getting involved is actually a vote of approval for congress to do what they whant , whenever they want.
Senate Vote To Defund EPA Corps Wetlands Regulations Forward this e-mail to your entire e-mail list. Very important. Tell Both Your Senators To Vote Yes On "Barrasso Heller Amendment" to Defund EPA Corps Jurisdiction expansion. Call both your Senators at (202) 224-3121. The EPA and Corps have published new regulations expanding the term "Navigable" so it could cover a bird feeder in your back yard. Don't let the EPA and Corps get away with expanding their own jurisdiction and undermining the limits Congress placed on them by limiting their Jurisdiction to "Navigable Waters" in the Clean Water Act. The EPA and Corps actually want to control all waters of the United States and all activities affecting those waters. You do not want the EPA and Corps in your back yard. Senate Vote Coming Soon To Defund the new EPA and Corps of Engineers Clean Water Act Regulations. Please make your calls now! Keep calling through the week and after until you hear that the Senate has voted. Call, and call again. Keep calling. Call your friends. The Senate will likely vote in the next two weeks on an Appropriations Bill Amendment sponsored by Senators John Barrasso (R-WY) and Dean Heller (R-NV) the Energy and Water Development Appropriations bill for fiscal year (FY) 2012 that would Defund the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' (Corps) attempt to expand its jurisdiction under the Clean Water Act (CWA) through guidance documents and/or regulation. -----This is a full Senate vote. Action Items: -----1. CALL BOTH YOUR SENATORS now to urge them to vote YES on the BARRASSO/HELLER CWA (Clean Water Act Amendment) (EPA Corps Wetlands jurisdiction). Call any Senator at (202) 224-3121. Ask for the staff person who handles Clean Water Act issues. Tell them the vote will be scored by the League of Private Property Voters. -----2. Forward this message quickly as widely as possible. This is very important. -----3. Do not assume your friends and allies know about this vote. You must get everyone you know to call. -----4. If one or both your Senators are Democrats it is especially important that you call, fax and e-mail them. Get your neighbors, friends and business associates to call. Background: In May of this year, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Corps proposed a "guidance" document that attempts to expand their jurisdiction under the Clean Water Act (CWA) to include almost all waters across the country. The guidance has not been finalized yet, but the agencies are quickly moving forward to a rulemaking redefining the term "waters of the United States." It is likely the agencies may send the proposed rule to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) within the next two weeks, which is the last stop before a regulation is officially proposed or finalized. The agencies intend to have a final rule by January 2012. American Land Rights expects the proposed rule to contain much of the language from the CWA guidance and would therefore expand the types and number of waters subject to regulation under the CWA. More waters falling under "waters of the U.S." would expand the permitting universe under the entire CWA, including Sec. 402 NPDES permits, Sec. 404 Dredge and Fill permits (wetlands), and Sec. 311 Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure plans. The Amendment would do two things: (1) prohibit the Corps from finalizing the guidance and (2) prohibit the Corps from promulgating a rulemaking redefining "waters of the U.S." *Below are talking points for your phone calls:* * The guidance uses broad language to define things such as "tributaries" that could lead to almost any roadside, agricultural ditch or intermittent stream being subject to EPA and the Corps' jurisdiction. * The guidance defines "traditional navigable waters" as any water that supports one-time recreational use (one trip in a canoe down a stream would qualify a water as a "traditional navigable water"). In the history of the Clean Water Act, the term "traditional navigable water" has only been used to describe major rivers that can float commercial vehicles like barges. * Under this guidance, waters do not have to have a surface connection to a larger body of water that actually moves goods in interstate commerce to be subject to EPA/Corps' jurisdiction. The water body does not even have to have actual water in it for much of the year to be jurisdictional. * It allows the agencies to "aggregate" similar types of waters (small streams, adjacent wetlands, ditches or isolated waters) within a watershed. This means the agencies only have to make a "jurisdictional determination" on one water body to then get jurisdiction over numerous others without considering them individually. * The guidance goes beyond both the Supreme Court decisions in SWANCC and Rapanos because it takes the court's narrow opinion on wetlands and applies it to all types of waters. * The amendment would prevent the Corps from finalizing this guidance, and would also stop the Corps from initiating a rulemaking that would more broadly define "waters of the United States." Please forward this message as widely as possible. The more people who get this document the better chance you have to compete with the greens. Thank you in advance for your support. Thomas Jefferson: "Whensoever the general government assumes undelegated powers....a nullification of the act is the rightful remedy."
But what IS nullification? How does it happen and work? Since September 2010, the Tenth Amendment Center has been hosting a national tour to educate and activate people on this topic. People are learning the constitutional basis, when it's been used in history, and how it is happening around the country and how YOU can stop DC right in your own state.

Remember January 3rd, 2007 The Day The Democrats Took Over!
I wonder how many people know this?
The day the Democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009 -- it was actually January 3rd 2007. The day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives & Senate, the start of the 110th Congress.
The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.
"For those of you who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is "Bush's Fault," think about this:
January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress:
At the time: The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77 The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5% The Unemployment rate was 4.6%
George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!
Remember the day. |

RedState Morning Briefing
For December 9, 2011
1. This Is It!
Folks, below is a note from our front page writer Ben Howe. He needs your help to get a radio show. Let's help him out. - Erick
So its come down to this moment. RedState readers and my friends on Twitter have helped me make it through round 1 & 2 of the Next Talker contest to win my own radio show on the 50,000 watt radio juggernaut that is WBT which on clear nights can be heard in 22 states.
I am so thankful to everyone that has helped me get this far and no matter what happens next, I'll be eternally grateful.
But, as I'm sure you've guessed, this ain't over yet. We are now in the final round of voting for the contest. Voting has been reset (which means even if you were awesome enough to vote for me before, I need you to do so again) and the competition is stiff.
As of this writing, I sit in 3rd place (out of the final 5) behind Ladd Lesh who sports 76 votes and Bobby Demuro who has a whopping 127 votes. I have a respectable 66 votes and need your help to take the lead.
What I'm asking is a pain in the butt, I'll grant you that. WBT decided to make it so people had to actually join their website in order to pick the Next Talker. Great for preventing cheating, but certainly a roadblock to getting anyone other than family and close friends to vote for you.
However, in the last round, a great many of you did anyway. Please click here and "like" my entry.
2. Defeat That Omnibus! It is still inexplicable to me why Republicans should violate their pledge against passing an Omnibus, in order to meet an artificial deadline set by those who never passed a budget. Democrats were too incompetent to pass a budget, even while they controlled all branches of government, thereby creating a need to pass the budget through a series of continuing resolutions. Now that Republicans control the House, and have a real budget on the table, Democrats have conveniently become disdainful of CRs. They have also undergone a cathartic conversion to meeting budget deadlines. At this point, the big-government statists in both parties know that the only way for conservatives to fight for any semblance of the House budget - both in terms of spending levels and policy riders - is to drag out the process beyond December 16. Conservatives would be able to force Senate Democrats to pass the remaining nine spending bills one at a time. This would give House conservatives the leverage to amend each bill and force Democrats into defending embarrassing spending bills, which fund unpopular laws and agencies, on nine separate occasions. In plain English, this is exactly how the budget process is supposed to work, pursuant to the 1974 Budget Act. "Oh, but it is already so late in the year," cries Democrats, and oddly, Republican leaders. Well, dummies, whose fault is that? We passed our budget on time. Now you want to come in late and subvert the process under the guise of budget tardiness? 3. Unaccountable and Unacceptable: Fast and Furious and the Incompetent Administration Today, Obama's top lawyer takes the stand. But in the eyes of the American people, Attorney General Eric Holder has already been found guilty. Holder is testifying before Congress about his role in Operation Fast and Furious- the failed federal gun-trafficking sting that resulted in the death of a border patrol agent and the loss of more than 1,400 weapons to Mexican drug cartels. When he testified on the scandal last month, Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley pointedly asked, "Who will be held accountable?" If Holder has his way, no one. It's all terribly symptomatic of the outrageous bureaucratic incompetence plaguing the Obama administration. 4. Gingrich: Is his rise sustainable? Candidates for office aren't always well known at first. This difference in name recognition can distort early polling, which is why in this Republican Presidential primary race I keep watching approval ratings for clues. So my personal find today of Gallup's Positive Intensity Score tracker I think is worth a look, especially as we consider whether Newt Gingrich's lead is here to stay. 5. Romney Camp Attacks Newt Gingrich For Opposing George H. W. Bush's Tax Increase Let's step into the Way Back Machine and go all the way back to 1990. That year, George H. W. Bush decided to break his "no new taxes" pledge. You remember, "Read my lips," don't you? Well, at the time Newt Gingrich was the Minority Whip of the United States House of Representatives. He was not the leader of the Republicans. He was the number two guy. And he initially said he'd support the deal, but twelve hours later, no doubt after consulting his colleagues, he decided to oppose the deal. The deal, by the way, was made between George H. W. Bush and the Democrats. Newt was not exactly a consequential figure in the dealings largely because he was the number two man in a small minority, all of whom could have voted against the deal and it still would have passed. 6. Is Lisa Jackson Looking to Get Back at Barack Obama? As Obama moves closer to his perception of the center, he moves further from the environmental base that had placed their hopes and dreams in him. Over the summer, he ended up in a heated battle with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) chief Lisa Jackson over a proposed Ozone rule that he was set to weaken against her wishes. According to the New York Times, it was not pretty. 7. CT Gov Schemes With SEIU To Unionize Day Care Providers & Others Without A Vote Connecticut's union-bought governor, Daniel Malloy, is apparently scheming with the SEIU to unionize his state's daycare providers and personal care attendants through a secret plan using the flawed method of card-check unionization. By stripping individuals of their right to vote on whether or not to unionize, Malloy is virtually guaranteeing money (paid by taxpayers) will go into his SEIU cronies' pockets. According to Raising Hale's Zach Janowski, Malloy has created "working groups" through executive order that will "guide the unionization" over the next year.

When the Japanese fighters and bombers passed like shadows over the waters of Hawaii, they carried more than bombs and bullets, their fleeting shadows marked the end of over a century of security. The last time an enemy army threatened American territory was in the early nineteenth century, since then the closest thing had been the vicious clowning of Pancho Villa. But in the nineteenth century Commodore Perry had come calling to end Japan's isolation and nearly ninety years later, the Japanese warplanes came to end America's isolation. That isolation had been crumbling throughout the twentieth century as presidents began contemplating the national role on the global stage. Pearl Harbor broke the isolation completely and when the war was done, the nation had inherited the mantle of world power and the obligation to maintain the security of Europe and parts beyond. Perry woke a nation that should perhaps have been allowed to reside within the walls of its own culture and when the consequences of the Japanese asserting their national identity across the region were done then the United States was left to oversee the ruins of the post-colonial order. The world after Pearl Harbor was a strange place in which a reluctant technocratic trade empire tried to navigate a world in which the divisions were no longer merely territorial, but ideological, where the straightforward xenophobic expansionism of a Hirohito or Hitler gave way to the ideological khanates of a Stalin or a Bin Laden. And if the fall of the Soviet Union, the end of the Cold War and its ranks of missiles carrying destruction at the touch of a button, seemed to mean that the United States could return to a pre-Pearl Harbor world, the planes that flew out of the sky and into the Pentagon and the World Trade Center were yet another reminder that the age of innocence would never return. The United States had gotten what most nations were willing to kill and die for, the chance to be a dominant world power, and yet had never really wanted it. Hegemony was thrust on it by default and it was always eager to find someone to give it up to. The United Nations was the ideal scheme for lifting the burden off Uncle Sam's shoulders. A progressive union of world governments that take on all the responsibilities of a world power, without actually being a world power. But that plan failed and the United States still found itself carrying the same burdens as before.

Channeling Milton Friedman to a conservative victory
GOP will gain political profit from principle, not personality
The Washington Times | By Dr. Milton R. Wolf | Wednesday, December 7, 2011
Democrats didn't understand the Tea Party when it launched in 2009, and they don't understand it now. They proclaim that if Republicans nominate Newt Gingrich or Mitt Romney, the Tea Party will have failed. They could not be more wrong, and their transparent attempt to dispirit conservatives won't work. Those outmatched liberals who received a good old-fashioned shellacking from the Tea Party in 2010 are hardly in a position to define its future success.
First, however, conservatives must face reality and choose one of these three options: (1) Decide between Mr. Gingrich and Mr. Romney, (2) devise some near-magical electoral path in the 11th hour that leads to a different nominee or (3) brace for Barack Obama's second term. A rule to remember: Manage the situation you have, not the one you want, or someone else will manage it for you.
America's last, best hope is the Tea Party.

By Matthew M. Hausman
On any given day, the headlines are brimming with news of existential concern for Israel and the wider Jewish world. From Islamist takeovers facilitated by the "Arab Spring" to anti-Jewish hate-speech on college campuses and in the Occupy Wall Street movement, there are daily reports in which antisemitism features prominently. Yet, responses from many quarters of the Jewish establishment have ranged from tepid and meek to apologetic and misdirected.
Rather than present a unified front against those who justify terrorism through moral equivalence, delegitimize Israel as a pariah state, or promote Sharia in the West, many secular Jewish leaders have been addled by their slavish devotion to an ideological agenda that in the name of tolerance has excused hateful rhetoric masquerading as political discourse - particularly when that rhetoric comes from the Left. Clearly, the secular Jewish preoccupation with progressive politics has become a modern form of idolatry that is inconsistent with traditional Jewish beliefs and principles. The compulsion of many liberals to compare criticism of Sharia to antisemitism, their willingness to validate questionable Muslim advocacy groups, and their pathological embrace of a Palestinian narrative that repudiates Jewish national claims, all suggest ambivalence toward traditional Jewish priorities and an abdication of common sense. Moreover, the constant promotion of progressive ideals as synonymous with Torah values betrays an ignorance of Jewish law, tradition and history.
Whether it is interfaith cooperation between the nontraditional movements and Islamic advocacy groups, the reluctance to chastise a left-wing that blames Israel for the lack of Mideast peace, or the knee-jerk support for Barak Obama despite his disgraceful treatment of Israel, the behavior of many in positions of leadership actually threatens Jewish continuity and Israeli integrity. These leaders often claim to be guided by universal ideals and the spirit of Jewish introspection, but their multicultural vision leaves little room for Jewish autonomy or self-interest, particularly when these are seen to conflict with liberal agendas or the Left's intellectually dishonest endorsement of the Arab-Muslim worldview.
The tendency to treat progressive ideals as the embodiment of Jewish values - and to regard liberal social and political programs with holy reverence - begs the question of whether Jewish leaders who do so are engaging in secular idolatry. And this is a fair question considering the innate, visceral aversion to any form of idolatry in traditional Jewish thought and practice. As discussed by Maimonides in the Mishneh Torah (Hilchot Avodat Kochavim (Avoda Zarah), Chapter 1), even monotheists can descend into idolatry by using objects to assist in the worship of G-d, because material things, or even abstract concepts, have the propensity to become the focus of prayer or a substitute for real worship. According to the traditional sources and as further elucidated by the Rambam, idolatry encompasses the act of worshipping through a manufactured thing, or of substituting philosophical precepts for Torah principles. The Talmud in Tractate Avodah Zarah broadly defines idolatry as any practice or belief that interferes with or disrupts the Jew's relationship with the Almighty.
Does secular Jewish devotion to liberal principles constitute a form of idolatry? One could certainly argue so when devotion to the secular interferes with traditional observance or contravenes Jewish self-interest. The degree to which traditional values have been disrupted by secular concerns is evident from the popularization of tikkun olam as a liberal imperative and its transformation into a mitzvah that trumps all others - although it is not one of the 613 commandments enumerated in the Torah and, therefore, not a mitzvah at all. Tikkun olam is misconstrued as a commandment by secular progressives in order to elevate social and political platforms that they support, and is often regarded as more important than ritual observance by constituents of the nontraditional movements.
However, while Jews as political beings are certainly free to support whatever causes their consciences may dictate, they cannot claim the sanction of Jewish tradition regarding political choices that are inconsistent with Jewish law and history. Secular priorities cannot be transformed into mitzvot under the umbrella of tikkun olam, which as a concept has been perverted beyond its mystical roots into a clearinghouse for any program that secular Jews wish to portray as intrinsically Jewish.
One of the areas in which secular leaders consistently trample Jewish priorities is in their apologetic approach to Islam and Islamism. They routinely tout Islam for its supposed tolerance and peacefulness, despite its history of violence, subjugation and discrimination against those whom it considers "infidels." Those who offer glowing paeans to Islamic tradition are rarely conversant in Muslim history or theology, and the information they feed their constituents is often drawn from the same revisionist repository used by Islamists and their left-wing allies for the purpose of dissimulation. Although secular admirers may not be aware of the supremacist and antisemitic currents within Islamic culture, their political connections to Muslim advocacy groups that have ingratiated themselves to liberal society undercut any incentive to research the veracity of Muslim claims of moderation, as was suggeste d by ADL National Director Abe Foxman's recent condemnation of the anti-Sharia movement.
In an editorial published by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, Foxman criticized the anti-Sharia movement as being driven by baseless paranoia. Like many liberal Jewish leaders, Foxman seemed oblivious regarding the intolerant aspects of a totalitarian religious system that disparages Jews and Judaism as a matter of doctrine, and which rejects democratic values and the concept of permanent peace with a dhimmi nation. In his Op-Ed, "Shouting Down the Sharia Myth Makers," Foxman said among other things the following:
"It is true that Sharia is being used elsewhere around the world in dangerous ways. While Sharia law can address many daily public and private concerns, it is nonetheless subject to radical interpretation by individuals or groups who subscribe to a more puritanical form of Islamic jurisprudence. Some individuals try to interpret Sharia law for their own radical agendas. It raises more serious concerns when it comes to implementing Sharia law in its entirety, as can be seen with the examples of Iran, Saudi Arabia and the Taliban. But that certainly doesn't apply to America, where concerns about a 'creeping Sharia law' are the stuff of pure paranoia."
(JTA, August 10, 2011.)
In writing thus, Foxman echoed the now familiar refrain of secular liberals, and many uninformed conservatives, who laud Islam as a religion of peace and tolerance in spite of its history of conquest and oppression. Some of these boosters are doubtless motivated by fears of being labeled "Islamophobic" by those who claim that hatred of Muslims is on the rise in America, despite the plethora of law enforcement statistics showing that instances of anti-Muslim bias are actually quite rare. In spite of the disingenuous attempts to analogize Islamophobia to antisemitism, violence and bias crimes against Jews in the United States and Europe truly are on the rise, particularly within the Arab and Muslim communities that ironically claim to be targets of ethnic and religious bigotry - regardless of hard evidence to the contrary.
And then there is Jewish Theological Seminary ("JTS"), which under the leadership of Chancellor Arnold Eisen sponsored an interfaith forum entitled, "Judaism and Islam in America Today: Assimilation and Authenticity." The forum's panel was moderated by a representative of the Islamic Society of North America ("ISNA"). This was troubling given ISNA's inclusion on a list of "unindicted co-conspirators" in the U.S. v. Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development trial, a criminal prosecution of an Islamic charity found to have ties to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. Although some of the unindicted co-conspirators appealed their inclusion on a list that should have been filed with the trial court under seal, they were unsuccessful in having their names expunged from that list.
The trial judge in the underlying proceedings had refused to strike the names of CAIR, ISNA and NAIT from the list, " on the List is appropriate in light of the evidence proffered by the Government." The court further found that "the government ha produced ample evidence to establish the associations of CAIR, ISNA, NAIT, with NAIT, the Islamic Association for Palestine, and with Hamas." On appeal, the Fifth Circuit declined to remove their names from list, finding only that the prosecution had erred procedurally in failing to file the list under seal, but had committed no error in "its decision to try to characterize the scope of the charged conspiracy."
Apparently, JTS was untroubled by its involvement with an organization that was found to have a connection to a charity determined by the government to be a front for Hamas, a terror organization whose reason for existence is to destroy Israel. The effort to establish dialogue with such groups seems like an exercise in cognitive dissonance, particularly as the program's announcement was greeted with criticism by some well-known authorities on Islam and interfaith relations, including Professor Richard Rubenstein, author of "Jihad and Genocide," among other works. Professor Rubenstein's reasoned criticism of the JTS program appeared in his article entitled, "Muslims and Jews: Is Meaningful Dialogue Possible?" (This article appeared in The New English Review, November 27, 2010, and can be accessed at http://www.newenglishreview.org/blog_display.cfm/blog_id/30902.)
Consistent with the thinking that seemed to underlie the JTS forum, there is now a chorus of Conservative rabbis who, when speaking of Gentiles who saved Jews during the Holocaust, insist on presenting the efforts of Muslims as comparable to those of Christians. However, of the 23,788 Gentiles honored as "righteous among the nations" at Yad Vashem, only 70 were Muslims - mostly from Albania. It is difficult to reconcile this paltry showing with the vastly greater numbers who willingly assisted the Nazis, as in Bosnia where Muslim Waffen-SS Hanjar units personally recruited by the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem assisted in exterminating most of Bosnian Jewry. The uncomfortable fact remains that few Muslims acted to save Jews from the Nazis - or for that matter to protect them from the Mufti and other Arab leaders who collaborated with the Nazis on the Final Solution and who, according to docume nted plans, would have implemented genocide in the Mideast had Rommel not been defeated at El Alamein.

By Phillis Chesler, PC MEDIA Time has run out for the cause of worldwide religious freedom. On November 18, 2011, America chose not to extend any further lifeline to persecuted religious minorities around the planet. On that day, the U.S. government shut down the work of an important and unique American effort: the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF). Oddly enough, the mainstream media does not seem to have covered this story. I certainly did not know about it. Did you? The only article about this appeared at CNS News. In 1998, the U.S. government passed the Religious Freedom Act and this commission was one of the results. Since then, it has sent delegations abroad to meet with minority religious leaders in Africa, the Middle East, and central Asia, and released reports about their work. In 2011, their Annual Report covered countries such as Afghanistan, Belarus, Burma, China, Cuba, Egypt, Eritrea, India, Indonesia, and Iran. In 2011, Nina... Judging from recent comments by "human rights" organizations and international legal experts, one might assume that Saif al-Islam, the son of the notorious and recently deceased Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi, is the real victim in Libya. While the International Criminal Court has indicted al-Islam, interim Libyan Prime Minister Abdurrahim el-Keib has said that he will not be turned over to the Hague and that "Saif al-Islam will receive a fair trial under fair legal processes which our own people have been deprived of for the last 40 years." Traditionally Islam has divided the world into "houses." When Muslims come to live in the United States, do they see America as a house of peace, of war, or of refuge?

Quote of the Day - December 8, 2011 "One can only gape in stunned amazement at the extent of the idiocy being displayed by the leaders of America, Britain and Europe over the 'Arab Spring' - which should surely be renamed 'the Arab Boomerang'. First of all, their declared policy is utterly incoherent. They claim that their aim in Libya is not regime change. Yet bombing Gaddafy's compound hardly signals their desire that he should stay alive, let alone in power. This week Obama said Gaddafy should leave power. Now he said overthrowing Gaddafy by force would be a mistake. In similar vein, Britain's Foreign Secretary William Hague says the UK wants Gaddafy to leave power - but that's not regime change, because apparently it's up to him to decide to do so. Presumably, for both Hague and Obama, if Gaddafy did decide to give up power this would have nothing whatever to do with the fact that they are bombing Libyan forces fighting for him to retain power. And they would also have us believe that the fact that the western air strikes are enabling the Libyan rebels to advance does not mean that the west intends its air strikes to enable the rebels to advance. One is reminded of Humpty Dumpty, who told Alice in Through the Looking Glass: 'When I use a word, it means just what I choose it to mean, neither more nor less'. Especially where the restrictive wording of a UN resolution is involved. And what might the results of this incoherent support for freedom against tyranny be? Well, in Egypt the Muslim Brotherhood appears to be in pole position to come to power in the elections planned for later this year. And in Libya, either Gaddafy will survive, in which case the begetter of the atrocity against the west over Lockerbie will doubtless be sufficiently enraged against the west to return to anti-western terror; or, should he fall, there seems to be a more than sporting chance that the Islamists he has until now fought off will eventually come out on top." - Melanie Phillips, writing in March this year in Jewish World Review. Her words have proved true.
Clare M. LopezThe current administration has taken dialogue to worrying new levels and if it continues to pander to Islamist lobbying, it may agree to the OIC plan to outlaw criticism of Islam.

- They won't learn that jihad is a central tenet of Islam that was instrumental in the spread of the ancient Muslim empire.

In 2007, the U.S. Justice Department, during a large terrorism financing trial in Dallas, Texas, entered into evidence a Muslim Brotherhood plan that calls for a "grand Jihad" against America. Defense attorneys for the Holy Land Foundation, an Islamic organization accused of funding terrorism, agreed that this was a genuine Muslim Brotherhood document. The plan calls for "sabotaging" America from within, and lists 29 American organizations that are linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, such as ISNA, the Islamic Society of North America. There is also a worldwide trend that is ominous, and that is the growing support for strict sharia law throughout the Muslim world. The ultimate goal of radical Islam is the establishment of sharia law, and there are many tactics in addition to terrorism employed by followers of radical Islam to achieve this goal. Thus, it is not uncommon to find an Islamist who will denounce terrorism while at the same time supporting "stealth jihad" efforts aimed at establishing sharia law through non-violent means. In 2003 a Muslim organization conducted a survey of Detroit-area Muslims and found very high support for sharia law. 81 percent of those surveyed agreed that sharia law should be imposed in Muslim lands. This begs the question, how many of these Detroit-area Muslims would also support imposing sharia law in America?

HUFBAUER: Debunking the big-oil subsidy myth
Energy companies receive same tax treatment as other manufacturers
By Gary Clyde Hufbauer The Washington Times
Wednesday, December 7, 2011
The late Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan used to warn against "semantic infiltration" - employing less-than-accurate words in an effort to shape the debate. Moynihan's caution is often ignored, but it's still worth calling out the offenders. Among them is a favorite think tank of the Obama administration, the Center for American Progress (CAP), which regularly insists that taxpayers are "subsidizing big oil companies."
That's simply not true.
U.S. energy companies, specifically those in the oil business, are eligible for the same tax treatment as other U.S. industries. To understand this, it's important to take a close look at the words being used.

Attention Patriots:
We are in the white heat part of the 2012! What is decided now will lay the groundwork for who gets to vote more than once!!! Yes, I said it. The article below is in essence an attempt to secure more than one vote for those who desire to play the spoiler for the upcoming presidential election. Please read this and redouble your efforts and desire to make a difference!!
Bob Evenden
State Co-ordinator for Empowered by True the Vote in PA
Friend,
Just when you think you've seen it all - two days ago the UK Guardian reported that the largest civil rights group in America, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP),
is petitioning the United Nations to occupy our American electoral process and assist them in squashing state efforts to improve election integrity. As reported by the UK Guardian,
"the NAACP will this week present evidence to the UN high commissioner on human rights on what it contends is a conscious attempt to "block the vote" on the part of state legislatures legislatures across the US. Next March the NAACP will send a delegation of legal experts to Geneva to enlist the support of the UN human rights council."
But fear not, fellow patriots, our Department of Justice would never allow such an outrageous encroachment by a foreign body into American elections - right? Right? Well...don't be so sure. Under Eric Holder's command, the DOJ appears to be much more interested in advancing the progressive agenda they share with NAACP, ACORN, SEIU, MoveOn, and a host of other groups bent on cracking our country in half. I have no confidence that this Administration would see anything wrong with involving the UN in our elections. Do you? Fellow patriot, it is up to us to keep our elections from being made into a international mockery. If you don't like the idea of seeing blue helmets at your polling place, help True the Vote send a clear message to the pack of progressives pressing this subversion of process. We are equipping citizens all across the country to help restore integrity to our elections. But, we need your help. To get our programs ready for our 2012 launch, True the Vote must raise at least $1,000 a day every day in December. Will you help us by making a donation of $10, $100 or even $1,000 right away? Unfortunately, there are countless individuals and organizations out there that would like nothing more than to see True the Vote fail. From fighting new voter identification laws and "forgetting" to remove deceased voters from the rolls to allowing convicts and non-citizens to vote, they have perfected tipping elections in their favor. They'll do whatever it takes to prevent True the Vote from stopping them, from bashing us in the media to calling in the blue helmets of the United Nations. This radical overreach will be stopped only when freedom loving citizens step up to protect our elections. That's why I'm asking you to stand with True the Vote to combat election fraud by making the most generous contribution you can afford to help us reach our goal of leaving no polling place unmanned, no registry unchecked. Thank you in advance for your support. Sincerely, Catherine Engelbrecht Leader, True the Vote P.S. Election fraud is alive and well in America, but True the Vote is ready to eradicate it. Will you help us recruit and train poll watchers in all 50 states before primary season kicks off in just weeks? Please follow this link to make a donation of $10, $100, $1,000 or whatever you can afford to True the Voteand help us reach our December goal. Thanks-Catherine

Thursday, December 8, 2011 To: Friends & Supporters From: Gary L. Bauer COUNTDOWN TO VICTORY: 334 DAYS TO THE 2012 ELECTIONS Who Is Your Favorite? The GOP contest has changed a lot in recent weeks. The last time I polled our supporters, Herman Cain was the clear favorite. But he is no longer running. Polls suggest the top three candidates are Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney and Ron Paul. I'm puzzled as to why my friends Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum are not gaining momentum. Rick Perry is making a big ad buy in Iowa, while Jon Huntsman is betting big on a surprise showing in New Hampshire. I'd like to hear from you again. All of our readers are welcome to respond, but I am especially interested in feedback from folks in the early voting states of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Florida. Who is your favorite now? And given how fluid the race has been, who is your second choice? Please use this link to respond and keep your responses as brief as possible. Thank you! Holder & Corzine In The Hot Seat Attorney General Eric Holder and former Senator and Governor Jon Corzine (D-NJ) were in the hot seat today on Capitol Hill. Holder testified before the House Judiciary Committee on the Fast and Furious scandal, while Corzine testified about the MF Global scandal before the House Agriculture Committee. Holder admitted that allowing guns to "walk" was "inexcusable" and "wholly unacceptable." He also acknowledged that weapons lost in the operation "will continue to show up at crime scenes on both sides of the border." Remember this, friends, because liberals will undoubtedly claim that the violence is a reason to justify new restrictions on Second Amendment rights. But the Obama Administration, not American gun dealers, is responsible for this mess. In fact, CBS News reported yesterday that AFT agents "discussed using their covert operation 'Fast and Furious' to argue for controversial new rules about gun sales." Meanwhile, in prepared testimony, Jon Corzine told the House Agriculture Committee that he was "stunned" to learn that more than $1 billion of investors' funds were missing. Where have I heard that before? Right -- that was Chris Christie who said he was stunned to learn just after taking office that Jon Corzine had left him with a $2.2 billion deficit. Corzine clearly has a history of losing people's money. When Corzine says he's "stunned" by missing money, there is a bit of a credibility issue at stake here. Payroll Tax Cut For A Pipeline Barack Obama has been pressuring congressional Republicans to renew his Social Security payroll tax cut. This is a tough issue for Republicans because it is so easily demagogued by the Democrats. It's odd that whenever Republicans try to reform Social Security, Democrats scream like mad. Yet, it is okay when Democrats propose a massive cut to the program's source of funding, which for many people is the only contribution they make to a "retirement" fund. Nevertheless, House Republicans have offered President Obama a compromise. They will renew his payroll tax cut in exchange for building the Keystone XL pipeline that will create tens of thousands of jobs and secure vital energy resources from our friend and ally Canada. That seems reasonable to me. Unfortunately, Barack Obama flatly rejected it. Speaker John Boehner made the following statement today in response:
"You know the president says that the American people 'can't wait' on jobs. Well guess what -- we agree wholeheartedly with the president. "The Keystone pipeline project will create tens of thousands of jobs immediately. It has bipartisan support in the House and Senate. It's pretty clear that the president's decided to push this decision off for a year -- conveniently until after his next election. Well the American people 'can't wait,' as the president said, and at a time when the American people are still asking the question 'Where are the jobs?' I think this is a bipartisan proposal that the president ought to endorse."

December 8, 2011 Why Tim Tebow Keeps Smiling
by Jennifer Marshall
When Pam Tebow was counseled to abort her baby to save her own life, the doctor referred to him as a "mass of fetal tissue."
"(M)aybe she just called me that to toughen us up for the names I would be called the first time I played at LSU," Tim Tebow, who became the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback for the University of Florida, writes in his 2011 book Through My Eyes.
Now that Tebow is a Denver Bronco and under intense scrutiny in the role of starting quarterback, his congenital instinct to push through adversity and ignore the naysayers is again at work.
"Polarizing" is the sports commentariat's typical term to describe national reaction to Tebow since he went pro. The negativity flows in part from his initially rocky performance. But much more seems to be reaction to Tebow's Christian faith. Critics want him to keep it to himself, a pattern that is increasingly common in American public life.
Of course, there's already plenty of God-talk in professional football. (Type "Green Bay Packers" into Twitter and see how many players give God a shout out in their profiles.)
Talking is one thing. Walking the talk is another. That's where Tim Tebow stands out. Born in the Philippines to missionary parents, he not only is outspoken about his faith, referencing it frequently in word and symbol - such as biblical citations in his eye black. He's also as intense about living out his faith as he is about playing football-and winning.
And he's done a good bit of winning. For a 24-year-old who's been, in his words, "the center of so much spilled ink" since his high school days (before graduating he was the subject of a documentary), it's amazing he's full of anything other than himself. Instead, he brims over about his faith, family, football and teammates.
While the attention hasn't gone to his head, it does seem to have gone to his heart.
Tebow takes seriously the burden of his "platform" - a word he uses frequently in his book to refer to his opportunity to influence others for good. Such disciplined, purposeful stewardship of a leadership role is rare in anyone, but particularly someone so young in a field rampant with narcissism and bad behavior.
Even for observers who consider the eye-black evangelism corny or juvenile, it's simply no comparison to the "youthful indiscretions" that haunt so many public figures for years.
And even through jaded eyes, the trademark Tebow kneel to give gratitude to God after a great play hardly can be as obnoxious as others' on-field (not to mention off-field) antics and outbursts.
What do you think about Tim Tebow's stand for faith? Continue reading this article and interact with other Culture Watch readers online >>

Junk the Medicare Physician Payment Formula In January 2012, Medicare physicians face a 27.4 percent cut in their payment for treating senior and disabled citizens. Congress, as it has routinely since 2003, is feverishly preparing legislation to stop its own goofy Medicare payment formula from going into effect. If they don't succeed this year, seniors can be assured of severe problems accessing physician care. The reason Congress goes through this silly routine almost every year is that it is unable or unwilling to make serious changes in the Medicare program. Today, Medicare payment for doctors is determined by a complex fee system, the Resource-Based Relative Value Scale (RBRVS), in which payment is tied to a social-science measurement of doctors' estimated time, energy, and resources in providing a medical service. While the Reagan Administration (naturally) opposed RBRVS, its advocates sold it (incredibly) to the Bush Administration and Congress in 1989 as a "scientific" way to pay doctors. So the government sets the fees for over 7,000 medical services, and that payment is further restricted by price controls. Since 1989, doctors cannot legally charge Medicare patients more than government officials say. On top of this bureaucratic monstrosity, Congress enacted in its 1997 Balanced Budget Act a special formula for updating the Medicare physician payment: the Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) formula. The idea was to ensure that Medicare physician spending does not exceed the growth in the economy. It's complex, but basically if physician payments are less than economic growth in any given year, then physician payments would automatically increase the following year. If physician payments exceed the growth in any given year, they are automatically reduced the following year. Since 2003, Congress has routinely stopped the doctors' payment cuts from going into effect. But delays have a cumulative effect and result in even deeper cuts and higher costs the following year. CBO has recently estimated that an update, based on the standard Medicare Economic Index, would amount to a 10-year cost of $352.7 billion. For that reason alone, Congress should permanently fix or repeal the SGR. Read Heritage's recommendations on The Foundry >>

Morning Bell: Pearl Harbor, WWII, and a Lesson for Today
Mike Brownfield
December 8, 2011
On this day 70 years ago, President Franklin D. Roosevelt addressed a joint session of Congress and requested a declaration of war against Japan following the devastating attack on Pearl Harbor the day before. Roosevelt's words carried forth across the nation via radio, and the consequences of the actions America would take would be felt around the world-and across history. The lessons America learned in those fateful days should be remembered even today.
Roosevelt noted that the day of Japan's attack would be "a date which will live in infamy," and he also pledged the following:
I assert that we will not only defend ourselves to the uttermost but will make very certain that this form of treachery shall never endanger us again. Hostilities exist. There is no blinking at the fact that our people, our territory and our interests are in grave danger. With confidence in our armed forces - with the unbounding determination of our people - we will gain the inevitable triumph - so help us God.

Organizing the Takers Against the Makers
This column by ACRU General Counsel and Senior Fellow for the Carleson Center for Public Policy (CCPP) Peter Ferrara was published December 7, 2011 on The American Spectator website. The brilliant Chavistas at the Center for American Progress have revealed the reelection strategy for President Jimmy Carter II. This time they are going to get the 1980 election right. Ruy Teixeira and John Halpin enlighten us with their publication, "The Path to 270: Demographics versus Economics in the 2012 Presidential Election." The authors recognize the grave political difficulties created by "the perceived inability of the Obama Administration's policies to spark real recovery," creating "serious doubts about Democratic stewardship of the economy." But the authors think the Democrat party under the Saul Alinsky revolutionary Barack Obama can reinvent itself to a new majority composed of government dependents, government workers, African Americans, Hispanics, and credulous, wide-eyed, liberal-left true believers. What would be left out of this New Democrat majority is the white working class, formerly the base of the Democratic Party. William McGurn summarized the publication in the November 29 Wall Street Journal as just "making official what everyone has known for some time: The Democrat Party is abandoning the white working class." New York Times columnist Thomas B. Edsall similarly reported early last week, "preparations by Democratic operatives for the 2012 election make it clear for the first time that the party will explicitly abandon the white working class." Free to Die?
This column by ACRU Policy Board Member and Professor of Economics Dr. Walter E. Williams was published December 7, 2011 on Townhall.com.
Nobel Prize-winning economist Paul Krugman, in his New York Times column titled "Free to Die" (9/15/2011), pointed out that back in 1980, his late fellow Nobel laureate Milton Friedman lent his voice to the nation's shift to the political right in his famous 10-part TV series, "Free To Choose." Nowadays, Krugman says, "'free to choose' has become 'free to die.'" He was referring to a GOP presidential debate in which Rep. Ron Paul was asked what should be done if a 30-year-old man who chose not to purchase health insurance found himself in need of six months of intensive care. Paul correctly, but politically incorrectly, replied, "That's what freedom is all about -- taking your own risks." CNN moderator Wolf Blitzer pressed his question further, asking whether "society should just let him die." The crowd erupted with cheers and shouts of "Yeah!", which led Krugman to conclude that "American politics is fundamentally about different moral visions." Professor Krugman is absolutely right; our nation is faced with a conflict of moral visions. Let's look at it. If a person without health insurance finds himself in need of costly medical care, let's investigate just how might that care be provided. There are not too many of us who'd suggest that we get the money from the tooth fairy or Santa Claus. That being the case, if a medically indigent person receives medical treatment, it must be provided by people. There are several possible methods to deliver the services. One way is for people to make voluntary contributions or for medical practitioners to simply treat medically indigent patients at no charge. I find both methods praiseworthy, laudable and, above all, moral.

Free Speech? Put a Plate on It
This column by ACRU Senior Fellow Robert Knight was published December 5, 2011 in The Washington Times. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has managed to block North Carolina from issuing license plates with a "Choose Life" message because the state legislature declined to also issue "Choose Death" plates. U.S. District Judge James Fox didn't put it that way in his Nov. 28 injunction, but he did agree with the ACLU that the absence of an opposing plate violates the First Amendment. The problem arose because lawmakers refused to authorize the "Respect Choice" plate that Planned Parenthood wanted as part of its ongoing culture of death. The ruling prompts the question of whether every expression allowed on a license plate must be accompanied by a contrary view, sort of a Fairness Doctrine for motorists. North Carolina offers an "In God We Trust" plate. Can't you see the state ACLU director coming unglued while stuck in traffic behind that? The lawsuit practically writes itself, with blather about "separation of church and state" and a lack of respect shown for Satan.

Salvaging the Mythology of Man-Caused Global Warming
This column by ACRU General Counsel and Senior Fellow for the Carleson Center for Public Policy (CCPP) Peter Ferrara was published December 1, 2011 on Forbes.com.
If you read this column completely and carefully today, you will learn about the true state of the scientific debate over global warming. You will not get the truth about that from the Washington Post, the New York Times, or the rest of the self-regarded "establishment" media. They are devoted to the fun and games of play acting as if there is no legitimate scientific debate over whether mankind's use of low cost, reliable energy from oil, coal and natural gas portends catastrophic global warming that threatens life on the planet as we know it. Recently, the media Knights Templar of the religious orthodoxy of man-caused global warming made a contrived pass at reviving flagging public respect for their fading catechism. The occasion was massively overhyped and misrepresented reporting of the Berkeley Earth Surface Temperature (BEST) project. But all that was new from that project was the departures from the official catechism. The project reported only on the recorded temperature history since 1950 from temperature stations on land, which covers less than 30% of the earth's surface. As the project leader Berkeley Professor Richard Muller reported in a Wall Street Journal commentary on October 21, after obtaining and reviewing "more than 1.6 billion measurements from 39,000 [land based] temperature stations around the world... the result showed [drum roll please] a temperature increase similar to that found by other groups." Those are most prominently NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in the U.S., and the Met Office and Climatic Research Unit in the United Kingdom.

Obama's "reelection" numbers are more scare tactics from Democrats and RINOs than hard facts
Dec 08, 2011 05:13 am | Coach Collins
By Kevin "Coach" Collins
An analysis of Barack Obama's reelection chances shows most of what we are being told to be lies half truths and distortions designed to scare conservatives and dampen our spirits.
Consider these points.
We have heard over and over that even trying to win this election is hopeless because anywhere from 46% to 52% (or whatever the media thinks would scare and dishearten us) of Americans are receiving federal money so they won't vote against their own interests. This presupposes those who are used to sitting back and taking from the rest of us will vote at a rate even equal to the rate we will vote at. We will be protecting our families and America's future; we won't be staying home. A recent enthusiasm survey, done by the liberal NBC/WSJ, showed that liberals are 21 points less likely to vote than conservatives - and conservatives out number liberals 2 to 1.

Shale gas production is waiting to prove Obama can't kill the American spirit
Dec 07, 2011 01:13 pm | Coach Collins
By Kevin "Coach" Collins
Our nation was, is and always will be the most exceptional country on earth because of its abundant natural resources and the uniquely driving force of the American spirit. The current occupant of the White House and his collection of fringe thinkers don't understand this, but we have no time to let them get up to speed about America's greatness. We have to save America ourselves.
We are once again reminded of our ability to grow and thrive by a new report on the exciting prospects of using our vast stores of natural gas as the fuel to stoke America's economic engine.
In Pennsylvania Texas and several other states facilities to extract shale natural gas are opening and creating jobs in spite of - not because of - Barack Obama's Administration.
"Shale is really proving to be a very big job creator. It really stands in sharp contrast to many ... Continue Reading:Shale gas production is waiting to prove Obama can't kill the American spirit

Black group targets corporations over Voter ID laws
By SUZANNE GAMBOA, Associated Press
WASHINGTON (AP) - An online advocacy group is urging corporations that market to African-Americans to stop giving money to a conservative organization working for stricter voting laws.
The group, ColorofChange, is targeting companies that support the American Legislative Exchange Council, or ALEC, a nonprofit that has helped states pass photo ID laws, which are criticized by minority and civil rights groups. Its members include legislators and corporations, who pay higher fees to join.
Executive director Rashad Robinson is not yet naming the companies, but said Wednesday his group has already asked them once to drop their financial support of ALEC. ColorofChange also is asking its more than 800,000 individual members to sign a letter asking ALEC's corporate members, which include Coca Cola and Wal-Mart among others, to end their support for the group.
The intent, Robinson said, is to "place their brand next to these discriminatory voter ID laws and their impact."

A Brokered Convention
We are less than a month from the Iowa Caucuses. As we wind the clock down I think it is important to note that the 2012 campaign season might present the most damning indictment yet of the ineptness of political reporting about the Republican campaign season.
Since November of 2010, political reporters in this nation have been telling us Mitt Romney would be the nominee. And while I completely agree and have said I expect it, the political reporters in this nation have routinely, and I am beginning to think intentionally, failed to report on what I think is and remains the biggest story this campaign season.
The man who should be the front runner and who should be walking away with the nomination has had since March of 2008 to lock down his lead as the Republican nominee and less than one month from the start of Campaign 2012, 80% of Republican voters want nothing to do with him and a third would rather go to the fight with a retread from the Clinton era than Mitt Romney.
For months and months the media establishment in Washington and New York has avoided this story even though since August of 2012 Mitt Romney has never been the front runner for more than a few days between the implosions and rises of the various alternatives to him.
Only now the media is beginning to tell the story and even now the media focus is more on what Mitt Romney needs to do than what Mitt Romney did wrong. Even more humorously, when the media does go for "what went wrong," they cannot help themselves but fixate on Mormonism when poll after poll shows Mitt Romney's faith will be more a weight on him with independent voters than Republican primary voters.
There is another story too as we get to the HorseRace this week. It is on the failure of the professional political class in Washington, D.C. The professional political class has failed Mitt Romney, Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Rick Perry, Jon Huntsman, and the list goes on. Sure, when God serves up a lemon of a candidate, there is only so much a consultant can do. But very few have successfully made lemonade with any of the candidates. Even with Gingrich, his rise has more to do with his debate performances than his consultants.
These two stories - the failure of the political press to get the stories right and the failure of the political consultant class to get the candidates right - are not written about enough. And both impact the horserace for 2012. And the muddied stories of both these problems may interweave directly to a brokered convention. I think it is time to move beyond wishful thinking and take seriously the idea of having a brokered convention with someone other than the current crop of candidates becoming the nominee. And that, for the first time, adds a new candidate to this week's HorseRace, Mr. None of the Above.
We'll get into it all in today's HorseRace. Click Here to Read Erick's Full Analysis!

Obama Has Found Jesus!
God was AWOL until December's job approval polls
"He who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and a third time, till at length it becomes habitual; he tells lies without attending to it, and truths without the world's believing him. This falsehood of the tongue leads to that of the heart, and in time depraves all its good disposition." --Thomas Jefferson (1785)
Just in time for the "holiday season," Barack Hussein Obama has apparently found Jesus. More likely, he read the most recent presidential approval poll, which indicated that his weakest demographic is composed of those who attend church regularly and, conversely, that his strongest is composed of those who don't.
At the lighting of the National Christmas Tree (no, it's not the National Holiday Tree, yet), Obama sermonized: "More than 2,000 years ago, a child was born to two faithful travelers who could find rest only in a stable, among the cattle and the sheep. But this was not just any child. Christ's birth made the angels rejoice and attracted shepherds and kings from afar. He was a manifestation of God's love for us. And He grew up to become a leader with a servant's heart who taught us a message as simple as it is powerful: that we should love God, and love our neighbor as ourselves."
Obama then claimed, "That teaching ... lies at the heart of my Christian faith."
Now, that assertion will cause a few folks some heartburn -- those folks who are convinced he is a Muslim at heart. They would be wrong, however. Obama doesn't worship Allah.
Others might read his words as a genuine profession of Christian devotion to Jesus Christ. But they also would be wrong. Obama doesn't worship Jesus, either.
Post your opinion: What defines Obama's faith?
So, whom does he worship?
Obama idolizes the altar of his own reflection. He is a consummate textbook pathological narcissist, whose circle of key advisers, according an administration insider, consists of a small group of "those who are his own reflection." He manifests a messianic complex, as do many narcissists who believe they are destined to become a savior of the masses.
As for what "lies at the heart of [his] Christian faith," the key word is "lies." Obama's claim of Christian roots is as disingenuous as his bogus White House bio, which asserts, "His story is the American story -- values from the heartland, a middle-class upbringing in a strong family..."
Obama was raised by atheists and his only tie to a "church" was as a disciple of hate. Up until the day he announced his presidential aspirations, his "spiritual mentor" was Jeremiah Wright, whose Afrocentric Liberation Theology focused on black supremacist doctrine and "social gospel" Marxism, the motto of which was "G-d Damn America." Wright officiated at Obama's wedding, baptized his two daughters and provided the inspiration for the title of Obama's book, "The Audacity of Hope."
Obama is Wright's protégé, but Wright knew Obama would "have to publicly distance himself from me. I said it to Barack personally, and he said 'Yeah, that might have to happen.'"
Post your opinion: What drives Obama's hatred for America?
Obama concluded his remarks by instructing his subjects, "So long as the gifts and the parties are happening, it's important for us to keep in mind the central message of this season, and keep Christ's words not only in our thoughts, but also in our deeds."
Lovely sentiments, whoever wrote them, but they are certainly not a reflection of Obama's faith as evidenced through his deeds.
I suggest that Obama "found Jesus" for this National Christmas Tree photo op, not only because of the implications of his weak support among those who are faithful, but because just two weeks ago when he delivered his Thanksgiving message, he failed to mention "God" at all. That omission was particularly odd, because the institution of our National Thanksgiving Day by our Founders was expressly for the purpose of giving due thanks to God. George Washington's first Thanksgiving proclamation read, in part, "I do recommend and assign Thursday ... next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be." (October 3, 1789) The covenant established by the Pilgrims that is most often associated with Thanksgiving, the Mayflower Compact, includes these words in its opening sentences: "In the name of God, Amen. We ... by the Grace of God ... Having undertaken for the Glory of God, and Advancement of the Christian Faith..." To be fair, Obama did note "how truly lucky we truly are." Perhaps Obama could best define his interest in Christianity by devoting his next national sermon to the topics of false prophets and hypocrites? He could begin with an Old Testament reading from Jeremiah: "The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds. They fill you with false hopes." Then he could focus on a New Testament reading from the Sermon on the Mount as recorded in Matthew: "Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. ... And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others." Unfortunately, like most cult adherents of charismatic charlatans, Obama's sycophantic disciples are not capable of discerning the underlying implication of such a sermon.
Clearly, Obama is concerned about retaining the throne to his kingdom. In one speech last week, he said, "I've got to win in 2012. ... In order to finish the job, I'm going to have to have a second term. ... I need a couple more years to finish the job. ... I'm going to need another term to finish the job. ... I'm going to need a few more years to finish the job." Apparently, in pursuit of that goal, his hypocrisy knows no limits. Semper Vigilo, Fortis, Paratus et Fidelis! Libertas aut Mortis! Tomorrow night, Friday, December 9, there will be festivities of sorts in honor of Wesley Cook (aka "Mumia Abu-Jamal"), the Muslim-convert, Black Panther murderer of white Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner just over 30 years ago.
Needless to say, black bigots and pathetic feckless white so-called "liberals" were titillated yesterday when Seth Williams, Philadelphia's black Democrat District Attorney, ended the possibility of the death penalty for Abu-Jamal, on the 30th anniversary of the murder.
Now, with sickening taste and judgment rivaling that of tonight's Houston-area-Democrat "holiday" party at a Planned Parenthood abortion mill, the National Constitutional Center has made itself available as a venue for a "Historic Event for Mumia," to be held tomorrow night.
Among the luminaries the National Constitution Center is welcoming are Ramona Johnson (aka "Ramona Africa") of the child-raping cult MOVE, Cornel West (oops "Dr. Cornel West, the brilliant Harvard scholar"), and "poet" Leroi Jones (who prefers to be known by the badass-black-man moniker "Amiri Baraka"). Among Jones's many fascinating quotes is "Zionism is a reactionary nationalism, more dangerous because in Israel it has state power and functions as junior partner to U.S. imperialism!"
According to an e-mail from Kevin Kelly, founder and leader of Philadelphia's insurgent-Republican Loyal Opposition group:

On Thursday's Program
Tonight on GBTV: Glenn explains the method to the madness - where we've been, why we've been there and where we're going. Time for talking is over - doing begins tonight. It's a CAN'T MISS show at 5pm on GBTV! Glenn previews the show HERE.
Glenn announces Restoring Love
Glenn explains the major 3 day event that's happening in Dallas this July and one of the more amazing venues in all of America. Glenn also talks Mercury One (MercuryOne.org) which will serve as the launching pad for what Glenn believes is the only thing that can save the country: Restoring Love. We see evil every day, like the 50 thugs who wanted to punch the heart of a teenager who has a heart condition (all because she wouldn't pick sides in a fight); and the Jewish teenager who had her hair set on fire -- because she's Jewish. People are hungry, homeless & hopeless - we must take action and do what government cannot: LOVE. Pre-register for the event HERE and see Glenn's announcement on radio today HERE.
Bob Woodward: sitting next to Gore 'taxing' & 'unpleasant'
An interesting series of quotes came from Bob Woodward recently about Al Gore - calling the former Vice President 'taxing' and 'unpleasant' to sit next to after a recent event he shared with the VP. Even worse, Woodward admitted he asked Gore how much the public knows about what went on during the Clinton administration. The answer: 1%, a number Woodward says made him feel 'icky'. Even ickier - Woodward waited 6 years to make this information public. Glenn reacts on radio today. WATCH

Then there was the stabbing of a foreign exchange student in the middle of the cafeteria. Now, another shooting has left at least 2 dead at the campus. Get the latest updates on the story at The Blaze. Jewish girl's hair set on fire The climate of hate with America's teenagers seems worse than it has been ever before. Is the technology making us more aware of the same old incidents that play out year after year? Or is this really an indication that with each passing generation, values and morals are slipping further and further away from the standard they should be? Get the full shocking story of a teen getting her hair set on fire -- just for being Jewish -- at The Blaze.
VIDEO: News Anchors shouldn't show up drunk to work Unless your name is Ed Schultz, you should never show up for a television broadcast if you are drunk. Everyone in America will know and you'll probably get fired. If you're Ed Schultz you can get away with it because each and every episode seems like the rantings of a drunken wannabe union thug -- Glenn, Pat & Stu play the allegedly drunk reporter and wonder if she's actually drunk or could it be something else? WATCH. Atheists demand nativity scene removed Surprise! Christians are once again being forced to take their faith behind closed doors rather than celebrate it openly in order to make sure one atheist isn't "offended". Makes a lot of sense, right? There are lots of accusations this time of year that the faithful are trying to force their views down the throats of others - but why is it that Christians and others are supposed to hide their faith when everyone gets to reap the benefits of the holiday season (vacations, presents, general cheer and pretty lights)? Glenn reacts on radio: WATCH. Give the gift of GBTV: The perfect gift for the Glenn Beck fan in your life is, well, Glenn! Now you can give them the gift of Glenn via GBTV by clicking HERE!
