Occupiers Plan to Disrupt NYC Subways & Wall St. During Today's 'Day of Action'
The Blaze | by Billy Hallowell | Posted on November 17, 2011 at 6:25am
NEW YORK (The Blaze/AP) - Two days after the encampment that sparked the global Occupy movement was cleared by authorities, demonstrators in New York City and around the country were promising mass gatherings Thursday in support of the cause.
The day of action had been planned before the city and park owners cracked down on the encampment in Zuccotti Park in lower Manhattan, but took on added importance to the protesters after tents, tarps and sleeping bags were cleared out early Tuesday and the granite plaza was cleaned for the first time since the group arrived more than two months ago.

RE: Rohrer for Senate Announcement Invitation
It was 21 years ago when my dad, Sam Rohrer, ran and won a "long-shot" campaign for the State House. At the time he was a young businessman, raising a family but had been increasingly concerned about the steady erosion of fundamental freedom. It was the beginning of two decades as an uncompromising leader for the pro-life, pro-family and economic freedom movement in Pennsylvania.
Regardless of the battle, I watched my dad face critics and political opponents with clarity and grace. The issues were certainly personal to him, but he always approached his counterparts with heartfelt respect. He's waged the big fights for school choice, property tax elimination and family-affirming legislation with a quality that's almost extinct in politics and government today - statesmanship.
Our family and grassroots supporters, from nearly every corner of Pennsylvania, have encouraged my father to stay in the fight and consider a run for the United States Senate in 2012. After several months of careful prayer and the advice of many people like you, this coming Monday, my father will officially announce his candidacy for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate, and our family would be honored if you'd join us!

This Thursday, thousands of Tea Party Patriots from across the nation will visit their Representatives' local offices to tell them... No more gimmicks. No more lies. Make REAL CUTS and prioritize. Here are the details.DETAILS - Date: Thursday, November 17, 2011.
- Time: 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. (in your local time zone).
Note: Please visit the office at any time on Thursday if you can't go at noon. - Location: Your local Representative's office.
Action steps. - RSVP here. RSVP
- Send this Deal in the District page to your members, friends, neighbors, family, etc.
- Learn about what REAL CUTS look like here REAL CUTS, before you visit your Congressman. There are materials and resources on this page that you can download and print out.
- Spread the word about this event on Facebook and Twitter. Use the hashtag #realcuts if you are tweeting about the event.
Remember... - We want REAL spending cuts. No more gimmicks, no more lies. Make REAL CUTS and prioritize!
- Increasing spending more slowly than someone else is still increasing spending.
- When you increase spending by $5 and then cut $3, you haven't made a cut. Your total spending is still $2 higher than it was before. This is a gimmick. Stop it. Now.
- If you say you're cutting $3, then cut $3. This year. (And in case it's not clear to your Rep., $3 is an example. A whole lot more than $3 needs to be cut!)
- All of the so-called cuts passed by Congress always get spread out over ten years, but this Congress has no authority over the next Congress and those cuts from this year can easily be overturned. Therefore, real cuts are cuts that occur within in the same fiscal year.
- Our country's national debt has now surpassed our Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Now is the time for real cuts, not fake cuts.
We see what is happening to Greece and Italy, and to the Eurozone in general. It is the responsibility of elected officials to make REAL CUTS now.

Join us as our friend, Dr. Rich Brake, presents:
An Original or Living Constitution? Learning and Preserving America's Founding Principles
When:
11/19/2011 from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM
Where:
Freeman Auditorium (Valley Forge Military Academy) : 1001 Eagle Road Wayne, PA 19087
Attendees are encouraged to come to this morning-long seminar to learn more about the Roots of American Constitutionalism; the Fight over Ratification; the still-relevant Hamilton-Jefferson Debate; and the Progressive Critique of the U.S. Constitution. There will also be plenty of time for a vigorous question and answer session, as well as opportunity for networking with other citizens who care about the future of America's Constitutional Republic. This seminar is free and open to the public, and will be conducted on the beautiful and historical grounds of the Valley Forge Military Academy. Light refreshments will be served. What a perfect setting for considering the vital institutions and principles that American Patriots have struggled and died to preserve for over two hundred years of American history. Dr. Richard Brake is the Director of Education at the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI), a non-profit educational foundation with a mission to "Educate for Liberty"-by inspiring college students to discover and embrace the principles that make America prosperous, moral, and free. As part of his duties, Dr. Brake directs the Institute's Civic Literacy Program, which has documented the failure of America's top universities to teach their students the founding history, texts, and institutions of our constitutional republic. Dr. Brake earned a B.A. in History from Georgetown University; an M.A. in Government from the University of Virginia; and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Temple University. Prior to joining ISI, Dr. Brake taught American Politics and Constitutional Law at Temple University in Pennsylvania and the Richard Stockton College in New Jersey. Earlier in his career, Dr. Brake worked as a legislative assistant in both the Pennsylvania and U.S. Houses of Representatives, and in 2006 he retired at the rank of Captain after serving ten years as an Ordnance Officer in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

I urge you to stand with me and co-sponsor my new legislation, "American and Pennsylvania Laws for Pennsylvania Courts." This legislation protects the individual constitutional rights of the people of Pennsylvania from the incursion of foreign laws, in cases in which the application of a foreign law or foreign legal doctrine would violate someone's constitutional rights. Go here to see the full document . . .: Our constitutional rights and founding principles of freedom should not be abridged by any offshore entity, including and especially those who would promote Sharia law. Once before on June 19, we asked that you contact your elected representatives and urge them to co-sponsor a bill to prohibit foreign law from consideration in any and all cases in our state courts. You were very responsive and there are now 21 co-sponsors on the bill! Listed below are the co-sponsors to date. if your rep is not on the list, kindly contact him/her even if it's the second time, by taking the 3 action steps below. The more co-sponsors the bill has the more likely it is that the legislators will vote affirmatively to pass it into law. It is significant what Rep. Swanger's office said when sending us the list of co-sponsors : "I feel a lot of them co-sponsored because of the message that was sent out by you to contact the Reps about this legislation. A lot of district offices & Harrisburg offices called or e-mailed right after that was sent out." Here's the list: Kerry Benninghoff Scott Boyd Dom Costa Tom Creighton George Dunbar Frank Farry Neal Goodman Seth Grove Kate Harper Dick Hess Scott Hutchinson Rob Kauffman Daryl Metcalfe (asked to be listed as a 2nd) Carl Metzgar Scott Perry (asked to be listed 3rd) Rick Saccone Stan Saylor Curt Schroder Jerry Stern Dick Stevenson Will Tallman Here are the action steps: 1. read the attached letter from Rep. Swanger, which went out in early June to all PA House members 2. visit, or call, your representative and ask him/her to call Rep. Swanger's secretary, Lily Horst, 717-787-2686, or email her at lhorst@pahousegop.com to be added to the list of the bill's cosponsors 3. timing: please move quickly, as they may be getting to the next step (obtaining a bill number). Make contact, and gain their commitment, by August 1. Having many co-sponsors on a bill, as you know, will help build momentum in the right direction quickly. Thank you for your efforts. Signed, your Legislative Focus Group American and Pennsylvania Laws for Pennsylvania Courts

But what IS nullification? How does it happen and work? Since September 2010, the Tenth Amendment Center has been hosting a national tour to educate and activate people on this topic. RedState Morning Briefing
For November 17, 2011
1. Intentional or Not, Pat Toomey Shows America the Democrats Care Nothing for Our National Security
It is one of the quintessential pillars of the Republican Party - no new taxes. George H. W. Bush got thrown out of office for violating that pledge. But Pat Toomey, Senator of Pennsylvania, is proposing new taxes. He's proposing $300 billion in new taxes, largely through restructuring and simplifying the tax code. But they are new taxes.
So we have the GOP willing to surrender a key plank and the Democrats are unhappy. They want more. They want the GOP to go even higher. Toomey says no dice. I'm starting to think he's outfoxed all of us by throwing down his first proposal and making it also his final proposal and in the process showing us two things.
First, he is showing us just how irresponsible the House Republicans are. Toomey drew a firm line in the sand and the House GOP seems willing to up the ante. It's no wonder John Boehner, our Republican Speaker, has presided over the largest spending binge we've ever seen from Congress. House Republicans are not only willing to raise taxes, potentially more than Toomey, but are daring to call it a tax cut.
Pat Toomey is also showing the country something else - something more important. The Democrats seem to genuinely not care one whit about American national security and now the American public can see this.
2. Repeating Mistakes? Sometimes it seems like Congress didn't learn anything from the housing crisis at all. Early Tuesday morning, leaders in the House and Senate unveiled an appropriations bill, called a "minibus," to fund several government agencies for the fiscal year 2012. Tucked inside the 401-page bill was language to increase the limits for which the Federal Housing Administration can insure mortgage loans up to $729,750, effectively allowing the agency to back McMansions with taxpayer dollars. Adding further insult to hard-working taxpayers an independent audit revealed, just hours later, that there is a "close to 50%" chance the agency would run out of money and need a taxpayer bailout. 3. The Supercommittee of Super Insanity As the tumultuous year of 2011 winds down, Congress will be facing a number of crucial budget deadlines. Aside for the supercommittee deadline to find $1.2 trillion in deficit reduction (over ten years), they must contend with the December 31 expiration of three provisions of the 2010 tax extenders deal; payroll tax cuts, unemployment benefits, and ethanol subsidies. Now the Washington Post is reporting that the supercomittee might attempt to extend unemployment benefits and payroll tax cuts as part of the final deal. The rubber is meeting the road, and conservatives need to mobilize rapidly. 4. Cornyn on Balanced Budget Amendment, Obama's Failure to Lead, Fast and Furious Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) had tough words for President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder following a speech today at The Heritage Foundation. He criticized Obama for a failure to lead and voiced concern about Holder's handling of the Operation Fast and Furious scandal. "Unfortunately, the president is already campaigning, trying to channel Harry Truman, railing against a 'do-nothing Congress' when he's apparently given up on governing," Cornyn said in response to a question about the budget debate in Washington. "He's not really contributing to the solution." 5. Ezra Klein: Never Mind Stopping Occupy Rapes, Violence and Fetid Squalor, The Important Benefit of Eviction Is Helping The Movement! The ever absurd Ezra Klein of The Washington Post is at it again, refusing to remain silent and just be thought a fool rather than speak, or write, and have it confirmed. This turn on the idiot merry-go-round is his little defense of Occupy Wall Street and his breathless desire that the eviction save them. Not the women assaulted at the protests nor the people harmed by other actions of the protesters, mind you. No, no - it's The Movement ™ that he glorifies and about which he's concerned.

Reclaim rock for conservatism:
Speculate that the Rolling Stones' "You Can't Always Get What You Want" was almost certainly an attempt by London School of Economics-educated Mick Jagger to convey to his youthful audience two of the bedrock concepts of conservatism: life is unfair; don't expect the state to bail you out.

I suspect there will be some questions on the Conference Report for the appropriations bills, otherwise known as the "mini-bus", that will be voted on this week. Here are some key facts of how we are continuing to take the fight to the other side and do our jobs on spending and regulation reductions. Let me know if you have further questions. Best,
Patrick

The conference agreement includes numerous provisions that protect the right to keep and bear arms.
Three of these protections are made permanent beginning in FY 2012:
o prohibit Department of Justice (DOJ) from consolidating firearms sales records,

o maintaining information on persons who have passed firearms background checks.
Prohibits DOJ from requiring imported shotguns to meet a "sporting purposes" test.

Reduces Amtrak inefficiencies by limiting un-needed overtime and prohibiting funding for
routes where Amtrak offers a discount of 50% or more off normal, peak fares.
Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Oversight
No funding for the "Sustainable Communities" program.
37.5% funding cut for the mismanaged HOME Investment Partnerships Program; and

prohibits the Legal Services Corporation funds for organizations that engage in abortion-related
litigation.
Child nutrition programs -
Prevents costly regulations on local school districts that are trying to improve the nutritional quality

The cost of these important programs could increase by an additional $7 billion over the next
five years.

U.S. boosts estimate of auto bailout losses to $23.6B
David Shepardson/ Detroit News Washington Bureau
The Treasury Department dramatically boosted its estimate of losses from its $85 billion auto industry bailout by more than $9 billion in the face of General Motors Co.'s steep stock decline.
In its monthly report to Congress, the Treasury Department now says it expects to lose $23.6 billion, up from its previous estimate of $14.33 billion. Read More . . .

Plan 9 from Washington Space
Posted: 15 Nov 2011 08:05 PM PST
As the ObamaCare Mandate winds its way up to the Supreme Court, which will decide whether we still have the freedom to look after our own health in our own way without compulsion from the authorities, it's still only the tip of the positive rights iceberg. When entitlements are transformed into positive rights, this creates a universal reciprocal obligation, first of all to pay for them, and second of all to participate in a planned economy that provides those entitlements as cost effectively as possible. The Mandate is a typical consequence of the process.
The health insurance industry will provide affordable insurance for those who need it most, in exchange for the government delivering recalcitrant consumers who aren't interested in buying their products. The same principle can be used to make checking accounts more affordable if banks agree to remove minimum balance requirements in exchange for the government compelling everyone to sign up with a bank. The industry gets captive customers and the government gets to write off another social problem.
The big lie about the "mandate" is that anyone who doesn't have health insurance is already a burden on the system. But the only people who could seriously believe that run public or private health insurance. What the "mandate" actually does is two things. It compels people to buy medical services through the health insurance company, rather than directly from doctors, which is why doctors supporting it is up there with local stores supporting a government mandate to buy at Wal-Mart. And it drives people who don't need medical services in gross, to subscribe to them anyway, making the "mandate" into a tax on the young and the healthy.

Why Zuccotti Park Needed To Be Cleaned Up
Posted: 16 Nov 2011 10:08 AM PST
(John Hinderaker)
We have all heard a lot about the filthy and degraded conditions in which the left-wing Occupiers have been living in various cities around the world. From New York, a report on the conditions that finally caused Mayor Bloomberg to sweep the Occupiers out of Zuccotti Park:
An administration source insisted that Bloomberg gave the go-ahead to roust the protesters because of "an accumulation of things" - including concerns that the park became a firetrap and that protesters were planning to build wooden structures to prepare for winter.
But sources familiar with Bloomberg's decision said he also was concerned with public health. Scabies and lice recently cropped up among those sleeping in Zuccotti Park - and there were concerns that the infestations would grow even worse, said a law-enforcement source.
There also was an increasing numbers of lung ailments caused by constant smoking and the chilly nighttime temperatures, medics who worked on the scene confirmed.
And what did sanitation workers find when they had to sift through the tents and other property left behind after police cleared the park?
City sanitation workers yesterday were forced to pick through a filthy pile of property seized from Zuccotti Park including dirty hypodermic needles, moldy food and glass-littered, broken gadgets.
"I pick up garbage [for a living], and these were some of the worst smells I've ever experienced,'' one worker grumbled to The Post.
About 150 trashmen stuffed the massive pile of soiled tents, old bikes and spoiling food into dump trucks - 26 loads in all - and hauled it to a West 57th Street Sanitation facility so that workers could begin sorting the personal goods from garbage. ...
As 10 unlucky Sanitation workers sorted the trash from reclaimable goods, they steered clear of a sealed pickle bucket which they suspected was filled with human waste. Among the trash were clothes, suitcases, papers, plywood, books, laptop computers, smeared peanut-butter jars, cables, wire and shoes.
It seems fair to say that the Occupiers represent everything that is worst about American life. Here is the mound of trash they left behind:

Secret Service Seeks Man Who Shot at White House at Occupy DC
Posted: 16 Nov 2011 09:37 AM PST
(John Hinderaker)
In yet another illustration of how similar the Occupy movement is to the Tea Party, the Secret Service went looking for the man believed to have fired an AK-47 at the White House in the Occupy D.C. encampment:
The Secret Service searched Occupy D.C. on Monday for a man suspected of firing bullets at the White House on Friday, one of which was stopped by the building's ballistic glass.
Protestor Ralph Wittenberg told TPM on Tuesday evening that authorities came through "searching for a so-called terrorist who shot at the White House, with no warrant, they went into everybody's tents."
A person handling media requests for Occupy DC confirmed the searches and said they were led by the Secret Service. ...
Police have been trying to locate 21-year-old Oscar Ortega Hernandez, a mentally ill man from Idaho who authorities say is connected to the incident, which apparently took place on Friday.
It makes sense that if you are mentally ill and are trying to hide, you will go to a place where you can easily blend in.

Power Line Productions Presents: Occupy DC!

(Steven Hayward)
So with the various Occupy encampments being taken down before they completely collapse, I thought I ought to pay a visit to McPherson Square, the primary venue for Occupy DC-especially after reading this preposterous Washington Post article about Occupy DC over the weekend. The result is this six minute Power Line exclusive video-worth watching to the end, I promise.
Postscript: the Washington Post reports this morning that "Protesters have clashed with police, annoyed nearby business owners and, U.S. Park Police say, sparked a rise in crime that includes arrests for assault, drug possession and disorderly conduct." In other words, business as usual for the Occupiers. But the DC government has decided not to follow the same path as New York, Portland, etc:
But as police have moved to curb or shut down protests in such places as Portland, Ore., and New York, where more than 200 people were arrested in Zuccotti Park on Tuesday, local officials say that Occupy D.C. can remain - for now.
"Right now we're working to facilitate their First Amendment rights," said Sgt. David Schlosser, a Park Police spokesman. "We have no immediate plans to do anything as far as removing anybody in the park."
Sounds like I might have to do a sequel.

Paul A. Rahe holds the Charles O. Lee and Louise K. Lee Chair in the Western Heritage at Hillsdale College. In view of his classic three-volume study of Republics Ancient and Modern, Professor Rahe is the academy's foremost authority on the history of republics. He is also the author, most recently, of Soft Despotism, Democracy's Drift: Montesquieu, Rousseau, Tocqueville, and the Modern Prospect, a book that explains the deep roots of the Age of Obama.
We are proud to have provided the platform launching Professor Paul Rahe into the blogosphere. Professor Rahe is one of the country's most distinguished scholars, but he has also proved to be a natural blogger as well. He is an incredibly hard-hitting academic, now posting regularly at Big Government and at Ricochet.
In this installment of Uncommon Knowledge, Peter Robinson begins with Professor Rahe's scholarship on the history of republics and a discussion of Sparta. The discussion culminates in our current predicament in the United States, ranging from the Founders to the Progressives, from Ronald Reagan to Paul Ryan and the Age of Obama. Recorded live before an audience at Hillsdale on October 3, the video is 50 minutes long and worth every minute. Through our arrangement with the Hoover Institution, we are pleased to present it in its entirety.

Slandering the Red States, Part IV: The Lieutenant Governor
Posted: 15 Nov 2011 06:08 PM PST
(John Hinderaker)
I have been investigating National Public Radio's three-part series on child welfare in South Dakota. Briefly, NPR claimed that South Dakota's Department of Social Services sends social workers onto Indian reservations to "kidnap" Indian children, who are then placed more or less exclusively in white foster care-a transaction which NPR alleged that the state carries out for profit. I refuted these bizarre claims here, here, and here. I have also sent two emails to Laura Sullivan, the NPR reporter responsible for the series, asking her a number of questions about her allegations. She has not responded.
Now on to Part IV. It was only a matter of time before NPR's series turned explicitly partisan-after all, NPR doesn't exist to attack social workers. Part 2 of NPR's series tried to link the "scandal" of kidnapped Indian children to South Dakota's newly-elected Republican Governor, Dennis Daugaard:
With multiple campuses and emergency centers, Children's Home provides services for up to 2,000 children a year. It's now one of the largest nonprofits in the state. But it wasn't always.
Ten years ago, this group was in financial trouble. For several years, tax records show, it was losing money. Then in 2002, a former banker named Dennis Daugaard joined the team. He became the group's chief operating officer. A year later, he was promoted to executive director. And things began to change.
The money the group was getting from the state doubled under his leadership. Children's Home grew financially to seven times its size. It added two new facilities.
So Daugaard did a great job. In most circles, this is considered commendable.
The group paid Daugaard $115,000 a year. But that wasn't his only job. He was also the state's lieutenant governor - and a rising star in state politics.
The seven years Daugaard spent at Children's Home - and his ability to turn the place around - were prominent features of his successful 2010 bid for governor.
NPR claims that being Lieutenant Governor at the same time when he ran Children's Home represented a conflict of interest:
It could be that Children's Home was the best organization for the job, at the best price for all those contracts it got.
But it would be difficult for tax payers to know. In just about every case, the group did not compete for the contracts or bid against any other organization. For almost seven years, until this year, Daugaard's colleagues in state government just chose the organization and sent it money - more than $50 million in all.
"It's a massive conflict of interest," says Melanie Sloan, executive director of the Washington, D.C.-based Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, adding that any organization run by a state's top elected official would have undue power in that state.
"When you're lieutenant governor, people are anxious to curry favor with you," she says.
Three points about this charge. First, NPR fails to note a basic fact-a wonderful fact, really-about South Dakota: being lieutenant governor is a part-time job. As of 2010, the state's lieutenant governor earned a modest $17,699. This is, in part, because the lieutenant governor has no duties except during the two months each year when the legislature is in session. Thus, all lieutenant governors have outside, full-time jobs, as Daugaard did.
Second, the fact that Children's Home got contracts to care for South Dakota children without having to bid against other organizations means nothing. States and other governmental units constantly enter into contracts with providers of goods and services. Whether a competitive bidding process is required as to a particular contract is a matter of state law; usually, it is not. Whether no-bid contracts are somehow scandalous depends entirely on the political affiliation of the administration currently in power and the political biases of a particular reporter, like Laura Sullivan.
Third, NPR's statement that "Daugaard's colleagues in state government just chose the organization and sent it money" is misleading at best. As a part-time, two months out of the year lieutenant governor, Daugaard did not supervise any state personnel, and had no authority over decisions made by Department of Social Services employees. The Governor's office released a statement before NPR's series aired. It stated in part:
DSS has had contracts with Children's Home Society going back to 1978, when it was first licensed as a specialized group treatment home. Currently, Children's Home Society is licensed as a psychiatric residential treatment facility (PRTF) for children aged 4 to 13. ...
There are 11 PRTF's in South Dakota that contract with DSS, and three of these are operated by Children's Home Society. Any program that meets state and federal licensure criteria as a PRTF can provide services to DSS and receive a state contract that provides for uniform reimbursement methods based on the number of children served for DSS. This is not a case where contractors "compete" against each other for contracts and is consistent with laws reviewed and passed as recently as 2010. Although Governor Daugaard cares deeply about Children's Home Society, his plan to balance the state budget actually cut reimbursement rates to all PRTF contractors, including Children's Home Society, by 4.5 percent.
In her report, Sullivan acknowledged and referred to the governor's statement, but failed to note the fact that his budget cut reimbursement to Children's Home.
Apart from her facile charges of conflict of interest, Sullivan's main complaint is that some Indian children are placed in Children's Home rather than with relatives:
Children's Home has won many state accolades for its work with children. But that doesn't mean much to Suzanne Crow or her granddaughter Brianna, who spent three years there. ...
She didn't want Brianna to grow up like she did, not knowing who she was, not knowing that someone in the world loved her. It took a court order for the state to send Brianna home to her stepfather.
"I didn't care what it took," Crow says. "I battled with them."
State records show South Dakota paid Children's Home almost $50,000 over three years to care for Brianna.
But across the state, grandmothers, aunts and uncles, family and tribal members would have cared for Brianna - and hundreds of other Native American children like her. They would have done so for free, keeping them close to their tribes and culture like federal law intended.
Perhaps so. But Children's Home isn't just foster care, it is a licensed psychiatric residential treatment facility. State employees are barred by privacy laws from commenting on particular cases, but it seems obvious that Brianna Crow needed more than a room in a relative's house. But that question, NPR never addressed.
There is a painful but important story to be told about South Dakota's Indian children. But that story isn't a "scandal" about the Department of Social Services, or about an excellent treatment facility like Children's Home. It is a much more difficult story, one that NPR won't touch with a stick. That will be the subject of my next post in this series.

I was right to be concerned. Not only was H.R. 822 -- the Trojan horse gun control bill -- passed out of the House of Representatives this evening, it was passed with an amendment that would open the door to federal biometric requirements for concealed firearms permits and a federally-administered database of all permit holders. Only 7 Republican Members of Congress stood against federal overreach in the concealed carry process by opposing this bill (you can see how your Representative voted here: http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2011/roll852.xml). The bill was amended this afternoon by ostensibly "pro-gun" Republicans to require a study be done on the ability of law enforcement officers to verify the validity of out-of-state concealed firearm permits. You and I both know what this means. A year from now, the study will come back stating that the only way to "verify" out-of-state permits is through federally-mandated biometric requirements for concealed firearm permits and Congress "must" create a nationally administered database of all concealed weapon permit holders. One of my biggest concerns about this bill -- the lists of gun owners a permit process creates -- should send shivers down your spine: Imagine Eric Holder and the BATFE with a national database of concealed carry permit holders. It's bad enough to have those lists exist at a state level. Once Eric Holder and his cronies find a way to request that list from a state, they'll do it -- all the in the name of "implementing H.R. 822." The legislation now moves to the Harry Reid-run Senate, where companion legislation is expected to be introduced in the coming days. I have no doubt that the anti-gunners in the Senate will use this as an opportunity to make H.R. 822 even worse. What troubles me most about this battle is the institutional gun lobby has been leading the charge for this legislation. In fact, they've been brow-beating Members of Congress who dare to question the consequences of passing such a broad, overreaching piece of legislation. Republican Congressman Justin Amash (MI-03) fought back against the institutional gun lobby for its support of H.R. 822:
"It's remarkably bold of the National Rifle Association to send out false and misleading messages regarding H R 822, an unconstitutional bill that improperly applies the Commerce Clause to concealed carry licensing. I would support legislation that gets the federal government out of the way of states that want to recognize other states' concealed carry permits. In contrast, H R 822 will hurt gun rights by conceding broad new authority to the federal government to override state sovereignty. Gun rights advocates have fought hard to prevent liberal abuse of the Commerce Clause that would restrict gun rights... I am disappointed that the NRA has decided to put its own interests ahead of the interests of gun owners. Fortunately, many other gun rights groups rightly oppose H R 822."
Please call your Senator at (202) 224-3121 and tell them you want to keep the government's hands off your permit and that you oppose federal intrusion into the concealed weapons permit process. Thank you for taking action to keep the federal government out of the concealed firearms permit system. For Freedom, Dudley Brown Executive Director

Wednesday, November 16, 2011 To: Friends & Supporters From: Gary L. Bauer COUNTDOWN TO VICTORY: 356 DAYS TO THE 2012 ELECTIONS Corruption Update The Solyndra scandal isn't going away. The front page of today's Washington Post features a damning report that the Obama Administration heavily pressured Solyndra to delay its layoff announcements until after the 2010 elections. The Post quotes an email from the private equity firm of billionaire Obama fundraiser George Kaiser, who was heavily invested in Solyndra. When informed about the impending layoffs at Solyndra, Energy Department officials, according to the equity firm's email, "did push very hard for us to hold our announcement of the consolidation to employees and vendors to Nov. 3rd -- oddly they didn't give a reason for that date." The 2010 elections were held on November 2nd. Why would Obama officials do that? As the Post writes, Solyndra was the "poster child" of Obama's green jobs agenda. It had received a half-billion dollar, taxpayer-funded stimulus loan to create 1,000 jobs. In 2009, Energy Secretary Steven Chu attended a groundbreaking ceremony for one of Solyndra's facilities. Vice President Biden addressed the event by satellite. President Obama made a high-profile visit to the plant in May 2010. While there, Obama hailed Solyndra as "a testament to American ingenuity and dynamism," and declared that Solyndra was "leading the way toward a brighter and more prosperous future." Oops -- he sure stepped in it, didn't he? Administration apologists have asserted that everything about Solyndra was above board and handled by independent professionals every step of the way. But according to the Post, an October 25th email from Solyndra CEO Brian Harrison about the pending layoffs quickly made its way from the Energy Department's loan program director to Energy Secretary Steven Chu's chief of staff, "who then alerted White House climate change czar Carol Browner and Ron Klain, Biden's point person on stimulus efforts." Clearly, the Obama White House was extraordinarily focused on Solyndra. Sadly, this intense interest was not focused on preventing the loss of your money, but instead on advancing Obama's political interests. Far from change we can believe in, Solyndra is just one more story of old-style Chicago corruption. Obama Appoints Another Rationing Advocate Our friends at The Weekly Standard are sounding the alarm on one of Obama's recent nominees, Henry Aaron. Obama has nominated Aaron to be chairman of the Social Security Advisory Board. Aaron is a senior fellow at the left-leaning Brookings Institution. And like Donald Berwick, Obama's director for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Aaron is an outspoken advocate of government rationing for healthcare services. It's been my experience that whenever the Obama Administration accuses conservatives of doing something bad, it's because they are projecting their own hidden agenda onto us. For example, when Rep. Paul Ryan came up with a plan to preserve Medicare, the left produced ads depicting a Ryan-like figure dumping grandma off a cliff. When Obama accuses Republicans of trying to slash Medicare, it's because he's already done it through ObamaCare's Independent Payment Advisory Board. Not surprisingly, Aaron has praised the board as "Congress's 'Good Deed.'" If he finds any fault with the IPAB, it is that its power is too limited! Please share this report with your friends, family members and co-workers. Jeffrey Anderson's The Weekly Standard column is a must read for anyone who is on the fence about this next election and what it means for the future of our country. Only In Washington According to a new survey, government bureaucrats are growing "gloomier" about their jobs. One reason cited for the decline in satisfaction is the two-year pay freeze currently in effect for government workers. I know no one likes a pay freeze. But there are millions of Americans in the private sector who would have been thrilled to take a pay freeze in exchange for being able to keep their jobs! Instead, they were let go as Obama's policies weakened the economy and unemployment surged. But there's more. One analyst at the Environmental Protection Agency complained, "We're learning to do more with a lot less." Excuse me? Thanks to Obama, the EPA's budget ballooned from $7.2 billion in 2008 to $10.3 billion in 2010. House Republicans did force Obama to accept $1.6 billion in cuts as part of the debt ceiling deal, but that still puts the EPA's budget well above 2008 figures. And that does not include any of the money it got from the stimulus bill! If it seems like Big Government bureaucrats feel entitled to more and more of your hard-earned money that's because too many liberals believe all dollars belong to Washington. The only question is how much of your paycheck will they let you keep. The sad fact is there is never enough money for Big Government. Look at Greece. The best cure for Washington's spending addiction is to send Barack Obama and his socialist allies to the unemployment line in November 2012! Still Going! Our video featuring 53 embarrassing seconds of Obama continues to get noticed. Overnight the number of hits nearly doubled to more than 58,000! Thank you for spreading the word about our work!

Have you helped keep AFP's nationwide TV ad, "Obama's Green Giveaway," on the air?
Linda, as of this morning "Obama's Green Giveaway" has been viewed by over one million Americans online alone.
But we need your help to keep this ad alive-and expose the truth about Obama's Solyndra disaster to even more people.
If you haven't had a chance to give yet, I hope you will. You can click here to give your critical donation of $25, $50, $100 or more to AFP by clicking here: http://www.americansforprosperity.org/ol1111ct2
Or, you can view the ad again by clicking here: http://www.americansforprosperity.org/ol1111ctv2
Linda, I can't tell you how critical it is that we keep this ad on the air.
You and I are certainly no strangers to President Obama's wild-spending green jobs obsession-and how he doesn't seem to understand that when government picks winners and losers in the economy, everyone loses.
But President Obama and his buddies in the liberal mainstream media are desperate to keep this Solyndra disaster quiet. They don't want the American public to know that President Obama:
--Wasted $535 million in taxpayer dollars to subsidize a failing company owned by one of his biggest financial supporters,
--Kept quiet on Solyndra even after he knew it was nearly bankrupt-and even gave the more money in a desperate attempt to keep them afloat,
--Plans to spend another billion dollars on more "green technology" companies that produce products the American people don't want or need.
Linda, since President Obama was inaugurated in 2009, we've seen millions of jobs disappear and our national debt skyrocket under financial mismanagement.
But instead of helping solve the critical problems facing our country, President Obama chose to waste over a half-billion of our taxpayer dollars on useless "green technology"-and bail out his biggest financial supporters' failing company.
That might be how they do it in Chicago, but dishonest pay-to-play politics simply are not good enough for the American people-especially when so many of us are struggling just to make ends meet in President Obama's flat-lining economic "recovery."
With your help today, you can helped AFP alert millions of Americans about what happened with Solyndra-before Obama dumps billions more dollars down the drain on other "green technology" projects.
But we simply can't keep this ad on TV without your help today. Please click here to send $25, $50, $100 or more right now: http://www.americansforprosperity.org/ol1111ct2
Linda, thank you for helping us alert millions of Americans about the truth behind President Obama's Solyndra fiasco-and thank you for your continued support of Americans for Prosperity.

Take Action
Tell President Obama to stop using taxpayer funds to benefit his political donors! (http://americansforprosperity.org/green-energy-scam)
President Obama spent $535 million of taxpayer stimulus money to prop up Solyndra, a solar panel company run by his political campaign contributors. Even though Department of Energy and White House staffers warned that the company's business model would never work, the loan was rushed out the door anyway. Now that Solyndra has gone belly up, taxpayers are left holding the bill.
When government steps in to pick winners and losers based on politics, it opens the door to even more cronyism. As we've already seen with Solyndra, government betting taxpayer dollars on unproven technologies is a very bad deal. A restrained federal government that doesn't have taxpayer cash to spread around is essential to stopping the cronyism that's ruining our markets. The Foundation
"If it be asked, What is the most sacred duty and the greatest source of our security in a Republic? The answer would be, An inviolable respect for the Constitution and Laws -- the first growing out of the last." --Alexander Hamilton
Editorial Exegesis
"The 'constitutionality' of the Obama health care law, Harvard Law School's Laurence Tribe wrote in the New York Times earlier this year, 'is open and shut,' adding that the challenge against it is 'a political objection in legal garb.' In announcing [Monday] that it will consider the law's constitutionality, the Supreme Court said it would give an historic five-and-a-half hours to oral arguments. Perhaps by his Cambridge standard, Mr. Tribe thinks the nine Justices are a little slow. We prefer to think this shows the Court recognizes the seriousness of the constitutional issues involved. It makes those who cavalierly dismissed the very idea of a challenge two years ago look, well, constitutionally challenged. ... It's true that without the mandate the law is unlikely to work, but the law is such a Rube Goldberg contraption that it won't work with the mandate. We'd like to see the entire law overturned, but the mandate deserves its own constitutional judgment. It shouldn't be found constitutional merely because Justice's lawyers say its excision would ruin the entire law. Congress can't drop unconstitutional provisions into laws hoping that the Court will bless them simply because not doing so would invalidate the larger law. ... The Court itself deserves credit for deciding to take this case this year, even though it probably means issuing a decision in an election year. The law is already speeding the ruin of U.S. health care, increasing costs and reducing competition. It is easily the most unpopular major reform in decades and the most unpopular entitlement expansion ever. ... These are issues involving the nation's core understanding of the citizenry's relationship to its government. Voters should have the chance to include the Court's verdict on the law when they go to the polls in 2012." --The Wall Street Journal
Essential Liberty
"The justices reportedly expect to make a decision by June. Whenever it comes, they'd better get it right. The case's main focus is the law's individual mandate, a provision that requires every American adult who doesn't have health care insurance to buy coverage. If a majority of justices decide that such a demand is constitutional, this nation will suffer through a fundamental transformation that rises to the level of the 'change' candidate Barack Obama promised -- or threatened -- if he were elected president. An America in which Washington can require the citizenry to do its bidding in all things is no longer a free republic -- though some might argue that freedom and our republican style of government have been crumbling for decades. If Washington can force Americans to buy health care insurance, then Washington can do whatever it wants. Old limits will be gone. A soft tyranny will replace the liberties guaranteed by the Constitution. It's impossible to overstate the magnitude of this case." --Investor's Business Daily
How do you think the Court will rule?
Upright
"The individual mandate is the poster child of this Administration and the liberals in Congress overstepping their authority to inject the government into the lives of its citizens. ... If the Supreme Court strikes down the individual mandate, as it should, it should also strike down the rest of the law in its entirety. But the second step (the 'severability' issue) is a closer question. The Court might get the first part right (striking down the individual mandate) but get the severability question wrong and not strike down the rest of the law. So, until the day the law is fully repealed, the job is not done." --Heritage Foundation's Nina Owcharenko
"A couple of months ago, Deputy Assistant Attorney General Beth Brinkmann was standing before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, defending the federal law requiring Americans to buy government-approved health insurance, when Judge Laurence Silberman asked her about broccoli. Specifically, he wanted to know whether a law requiring Americans to buy broccoli would exceed the federal government's authority to regulate interstate commerce. 'No,' Brinkmann said. 'It depends,' she added. ... Imagine the fun that Congress could have coming up with mandates aimed at coercing healthier lifestyles once it has a constitutional blessing as well as a fiscal justification. ... If you value your freedom to spend your money as you choose, you should hope the Supreme Court rejects the Obama administration's open-ended view of the Commerce Clause -- no matter how you feel about broccoli." --columnist Jacob Sullum
"President Franklin D. Roosevelt was re-elected for an unprecedented third term after two terms in which unemployment was in double digits for eight consecutive years. We may lament the number of people who are unemployed or who are on food stamps today. But those who give the Obama administration credit for coming to their rescue when they didn't have a job are likely to greatly outnumber those who blame the administration for their not having a job in the first place. ... There has probably never been a time in the history of this country when we more urgently needed to get a president out of the White House, before he ruined the country. But will the conservative Republican candidates let that guide them?" --economist Thomas Sowell
"President Obama was wrong to say at the Asia-Pacific economic summit that America has gotten 'lazy' in the past few decades at attracting foreign investment. What he should have said, in the light of his administration's handling of the proposed Keystone XL pipeline, is that America has become quite adept at blocking foreign investment. ... TransCanada wants to invest $7 billion in building a pipeline across the United States to carry oil from Alberta to the Gulf Coast. If we were merely lazy, we'd have accepted the project and the thousands of associated construction jobs long ago. That would be the path of least resistance, not to mention common sense." --National Review editor Rich Lowry

"We are fast approaching the stage of the ultimate inversion: the stage where the government is free to do anything it pleases, while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by brute force." --novelist and philosopher Ayn Rand (1905-1982)
Why We Need Your Help
You may have noticed that there is no advertising on The Patriot Post's website. This is a very cognizant decision on our part -- we want a clean site, free of annoying advertising content and pop-ups, so that we can be focused on providing you with the best in Conservative news, policy and opinion. We also want to avoid any "editorial obligations" that go along with advertising revenues.
However, by not accepting revenue from advertising, our team of writers and editors (many of whom have young families) are much more dependent on YOU for our operations budget.
So far we have raised nearly 33 percent of the funds toward our 2011 Year-End Campaign goal. We must still raise $241,275 to meet our minimum budget requirements.
The Demo-goguesOh please: "The president is focused like a laser on passing the American Jobs Act, on making sure we put people back to work. We need some help from Republicans." --DNC chair and Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) Reaching: "President Obama is trying to make sure the middle class gets 17 different tax cuts for small business owners. Ninety-five per cent of Americans got a tax break at the outset of Obama's administration. We are focused on getting things turned around, and while yes, we've increased our debt, we've done so in a way that has made sure the economy can start to turn around, and we would make even more progress if the Republicans would stop rooting for the economy to fail." --Debbie Wasserman Schultz Firing up the base: "Folks, you [unions] fired the first shot. It's not about Barack Obama. It's not about Joe Biden. It's about whether middle-class people are going to be put back in the saddle again -- because you are the people who make this country move." --Joe Biden Department of irony: "The very core of what this country stands for is on the line. The basic promise that no matter who you are or where you come from, what you look like, that you can make it in America if you try -- that vision is on the line." --Barack Obama Blame Game: "Normally ... the way politics works is if the overwhelming majority of the American people aren't happy with what you're doing, you start doing something different. So far that hasn't happened in Congress -- and the Republicans in Congress in particular." --Barack Obama Projection: "We've been a little bit lazy, I think, over the last couple of decades. We've kind of taken for granted -- 'Well, people would want to come here' -- and we aren't out there hungry, selling America and trying to attract new businesses into America." --Barack Obama
DezinformatsiaSpeaking truth to power: "What is extraordinary about the president is his demeanor. You know, as all around is in chaos, the president has always maintained a confident and assured demeanor. Does he know something we don't? Or is he just quite cool under pressure?" --CNN's Piers Morgan Multiple wrong choice: "[A]t the [last] Republican debate, some of the hopefuls ... defended the practice of waterboarding which is a practice you banned in 2009. Herman Cain said, 'I don't see that as torture.' Michele Bachmann said that it's 'very effective.' So I'm wondering if you think that they're uninformed, out of touch, or irresponsible?" --CNN's White House correspondent Dan Lothian to Obama More from the sycophants: "What [the GOP presidential candidates] wanted to do was level attacks against President Obama, but that's going to be difficult as well. I don't think the Republican nominee for president really feels like [foreign policy] is the most vulnerable area for President Obama. His foreign policy by a lot of accounts has been very successful, particularly on the war on terror, and I think they want to focus on the economy." --NBC's David Gregory on Saturday night's GOP debate Belly laugh of the week: "[Y]ou balanced the budget and cut the size of the government. How come you're not a hero of the Tea Party?" --Time magazine's Richard Stengel to Bill Clinton Newspulper Headlines:Promises, Promises: "Get a Grip or I'm Out Too, Says Obama" --Daily Express (London) Out on a Limb: "Republicans Reluctant to Accept Romney as Nominee" --Washington Examiner Questions Nobody Is Asking: "Time's Stengel to Bill Clinton: Why Aren't You a Tea Party Hero?" --HotAir.com News You Can Use: "'Stop Doing Things That Are Stupid'" --Defense News Bottom Story of the Day: "World Headed for Irreversible Climate Change in Five Years, IEA Warns" --Guardian (London)
Village IdiotsExcuses: "[The Republicans are] good at this. They're good at labeling you. And what I would say to you is I think [Obama] has presented balanced plans. If you look at this jobs plan, which I talk about in real detail in the book, several of the ideas, including the payroll tax cuts, in the president's plan, were first proposed by Republicans who now oppose them, probably just because he's for them. The president plainly has bent over backwards to try to cooperate with them, and still wants to. And I think that's the right position." --Bill Clinton Hating the troops: "I think it is shameful that it is perceived as legitimate to solicit in an academic institution for support for men and women who have gone overseas to kill other human beings." --University law professor Michael Avery opposing Veterans Day Hate speech: "[T]here are a lot of parallels between John F. Kennedy and Barack Obama: The age; they're both young politicians; they both spent a short time in the Senate; they both have beautiful wives; they both have beautiful kids. ... [T]here's also been this sort of atmosphere of real hate and obstructionism that surrounded both men. So, I began to think history repeats itself and at that point I thought to myself, 'You know I really would like to write this book.' And one of the things that I'd kinda like to say is, 'Here is where hate will get you eventually. This is what happens. Finally, it's the barrel of a gun.'" --author Stephen King on why he wrote his novel, 11/23/63 Short Cuts"The left is always shrieking that the Republicans are going to nominate some right-wing nut for the presidency; if only that were true. The Republican base's perfect candidate would be someone who emerged from his bomb shelter toting a shotgun with the sole purpose of dismantling government. We want someone who can barely restrain himself from violence when talking to the normal useless, arrogant, tax-and-spend politician. Someone who, when given a bill to raise taxes, wouldn't only veto it but would also publicly burn it and then hunt down the perpetrators who wrote it." --humorist Frank J. Fleming "You know what you call a Democrat who makes as many verbal gaffes as Rick Perry? Vice president." --comedian Jay Leno "President Obama cut $4 billion from his administrative budget, but will spend the money on other programs. I swear, if Obama were in a sinking boat, he'd drill a hole to let the water run out." --former senator Fred Thompson "The Justice Department convicted Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout Friday of selling weapons to South American terrorists. He broke all the rules. Under the WTO he's required to sell the weapons to the Justice Department, which gives them to a gun store on the border, which sells them to a cartel, which sells the weapons to the South American terrorists. That's how jobs are created." --Argus Hamilton

ZOA Praises Sarkozy's Expressing Regret to Netanyahu Over Overheard Harsh Remarks - Why Won't Obama?
The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) has praised French President Nicholas Sarkozy's efforts to essentially apologize for his disparaging, harsh private comments, publicly overheard, about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in conversation with President Barack Obama. In a letter of condolence to Prime Minister Netanyahu on the recent death of his father-in-law, President Sarkozy wrote, "You have my friendship, and our differing views on the problems of the Middle East, and the interpretations appearing in the media, have no effect on it" ('Sarkozy pledges friendship to Netanyahu in letter,' Jewish Telegraphic Agency, November 15, 2011), The ZOA is especially pleased about President Sarkozy's letter, as it called upon both presidents last week to apologize for their remarks. The ZOA wonders why President Obama, who also made disparaging remarks about the Israeli Prime Minister, has not done the same.
During their meeting following a G20 press conference last week, President Sarkozy said of Prime Minister Netanyahu, "I cannot stand him. He is a liar,' while President Obama replied, "You're fed up with him, but I have to deal with him every day!" ('Report: Sarkozy calls Netanyahu "Liar,"' Yediot Ahronot, November 7, 2011).
ZOA National President Morton A. Klein said, "While no one would imagine that President Sarkozy has changed the views he expressed, it is praiseworthy that he has tried to clarify that his comments do not reflect on the value he places on his relations with the Israeli Prime Minister and on the Franco-Israel relationship.
"As the ZOA has said earlier in regard to this incident, it seems that the failed and disastrous Oslo process, even though its failure is the result of Palestinian extremism, racism and non-acceptance of Israel, has accelerated the tendency of foreign leaders to demand more of Israel whenever their hopelessly flawed policy of establishing a PA-led Palestinian state hits a Palestinian brick wall.
"The only question outstanding is why President Obama has not spoken on the subject since his disparaging words about Mr. Netanyahu were made public last week. President Obama says he is a strong and committed friend of Israel, yet he makes disparaging remarks about its prime minister, then refuses to express any regret or issue a retraction once it becomes public. The only possible interpretation one can put on this behavior is that President Obama meant what he said and that his hostility to Mr. Netanyahu and the government he leads is such that he will not even go through the motions of expressing regret or downplaying his remarks.
"The ZOA renews its call upon President Obama to apologize for his overheard remarks about Prime Minister Netanyahu."

Officials running a federal program that is considering redefining death are going to be seeking further public comment after members of the Christian Medical Association raised alarms about several problems, including what they believe would be an open door to pressure families to donate organs before their loved one has died. The proposal could move the federal government closer into alignment with what has been proposed by longtime Barack Obama adviser Cass Sunstein. Obama's "regulatory czar" was revealed in 2009 to have pushed strongly for the removal of organs from those who did not give their consent to becoming an organ donor. In his book, "Nudge: Improving Decisions about Health, Wealth and Happiness," Sunstein and co-author Richard Thaler presented the possibility of the "routine removal" of organs because "the state owns the rights to body parts of people who are dead or in certain hopeless conditions, and it can remove their organs without asking anyone's permission."

2-for-1 Matching Grant Offered for All Individual Gifts to NumbersUSA
We Need Donations from just 1% of our Members to Continue Our Push For Mandatory E-Verify Through the House & See the Beginning of the End of Illegal Immigration
If you've been waiting for the Ideal Time to Donate, This Is That Time!
Victory is getting closer; I can taste it! Your activism has added almost two dozen new co-sponsors in the last two weeks in which Congress has been in session! Our best hope for reducing illegal immigration is Rep. Lamar Smith's H.R. 2885, the 50-state mandatory E-Verify bill. The bill would block illegal aliens from stealing jobs that Americans deserve--and cause them to start leaving the country. Now we've got momentum for pushing this bill through. You probably remember that H.R. 2885 passed through the Judiciary Committee in July but has languished since, awaiting co-sponsorships from U.S. Representatives and behind-the-scenes approval from House leaders. A few weeks ago we asked you, our members, to push your Representatives into co-sponsoring E-Verify. Results are flooding in now. We've gone from only 42 co-sponsors to 63 right now. That's huge progress! And more than 30 of these co-sponsors are committee or subcommittee chairmen! Can you imagine the difference in America when every new employee is checked for the legal right to work in this country?! Please help make this happen by clicking the red button and donating. Every dollar you donate this month will be matched by two more dollars.
We're all so busy leaning on Congress that I know even reading one more email may seem a burden. But I know you'll want to hear about this. Several donors have begun a 2-for-1 matching grant opportunity for NumbersUSA members. Our special financial difficulty right now is that NumbersUSAs new budget year began on Oct. 1. Because of various IRS and foundation rules, THESE WEALTHY DONORS CAN GIVE US NOTHING MORE THIS FALL unless we first raise money from individual citizens like yourselves. The Open Borders lobby is well-funded by countless wealthy foundations and corporations with deep pockets. We are fortunate that there are a few wealthy donors who share our love of a sovereign America and for the values of freedom, economic justice and preservation of our quality of life. But their large donations are dependent on your smaller ones. What does this 2-for-1 match mean? > For every $25 you send us, we can raise another $50. > For every $50, we get another $100. > And for every $100 gift, the large donors are standing by to add an additional $200! Let me put the match another way. For every $25 you give us, we will have a total of $75 to work for immigration reductions. For every $100 you donate, we will have $300 to spend. We're so close to TRANSFORMING illegal immigration enforcement by passing mandatory E-Verify! We need your help now to ram this thing through. If you are currently a donor to NumbersUSA, this is a great opportunity to multiply your giving. If you've not yet made a first gift, please consider making your first donation to NumbersUSA this month. Many members make their first contribution to us each month. We rely on these first-time gifts to help us reach our financial goals each month. If you are able to, please make your first contribution to us today. Every amount helps, even $5, $10, or $25.

The Debate over the War in Afghanistan
The killing of Osama bin Laden was a hard-won victory for the United States, but the gains made in pursuit of that day of justice and in waging the war in Afghanistan--including putting al-Qaeda on its heels--could be squandered if the Obama Administration continues its plotted course. When Republican presidential candidates lay out their foreign policy agendas in next Tuesday's debate hosted by The Heritage Foundation and the American Enterprise Institute on CNN, they should pay significant attention to this seminal war that is so crucial to America's struggle against terrorism.

Vision to America exists to help America return to our Founding Father's vision for a Christian Republic. America was once a light to the world--a place that God blessed with liberty and prosperity. Today, Americans are taught that the Almighty State has all the answers. As a result, our God-given liberties are being traded for an imaginary sense of security. When Israel attacks Iran's nukes, Obama will be the last to know
Nov 16, 2011 05:13 am | Coach Collins
By Doug Book, staff writer
Would Israel launch a surprise attack against Iranian nuclear facilities without first having informed the White House of its intentions? That's a question to which Barack Obama would dearly love an answer, but don't expect Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to provide one any time soon.
Upon receipt of an October report by UN weapons inspectors that Iran was in the process of building a nuclear weapon, Barack Obama dispatched Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta to Israel to demand "...an unshakable guarantee that Israel would not carry out a unilateral military strike against Iran's nuclear facilities without first seeking Washington's clearance."
But neither Israeli PM Netanyahu nor Defense Minister Ehud Barak would provide Obama with such a guarantee, instead telling Panetta only that no attack was planned.
The nation of Israel has survived the geographic nightmare of being surrounded by hostile Muslim neighbors through good intelligence, dogged preparedness and a no nonsense, no ... Continue Reading:When Israel attacks Iran's nukes, Obama will be the last to know

Democrat run Detroit slowly sinking like a torpedoed battleship
Nov 15, 2011 01:13 pm | Coach Collins
By Kevin "Coach" Collins
For at least a decade, the sea of vacant lots, nights that crackle with gunfire, and abandoned buildings burning without attention have all been the constant companions of those few people still left in Detroit. Nevertheless, in a masterful display of propaganda damage control Detroit's true condition has remained a secret outside of the Motor City and its surrounding area.
That secret is now out.
A $ 1.7 million extensive forensic audit of Detroit's finances done by Ernst & Young has found its way to sunlight. It describes a city that is NOT rebounding and NOT "getting on its feet" in spite of what Chrysler's TV ads say. It says Detroit is running out of money - very quickly. Some of the debts the city has run up are 18 months old and still can't be paid. At the end of this calendar year Detroit will not have the money to pay ... Did an 'Occupy' protester fire an AK-47 at the White House?
It sounds too ridiculous and far-fetched to be true - but it is. Shots were fired at the White House on Friday and authorities just discovered that a bullet had hit a window at the White House. The shots appear to be from a high powered rifle and the window struck was that of the Obama's living quarters. The Obamas were not home at the time of the incident.
