Word of the Week:

(Finally, a way to describe Obama and his voters)

Ineptocracy (in-ep-toc-ra-cy)

A system of government where the least capable of leading are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or to succeed are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

'Made in China': U.S. Military Finding Fake Chinese Electronics in Gear At Alarming Rate

The Blaze | by Buck Sexton | Posted on November 9, 2011 at 2:50pm

The U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee has found that counterfeit electronic parts are finding their way into the U.S. military supply chain at an alarming rate.

SH-60B Seahawk
SH-60B Seahawk

The Senate released a report that claims that on 1,800 separate occasions, the U.S. military or contractors have purchased electronics materials for defense systems that were either fake or poorly recycled.

In some cases, defective chips made their way into critical U.S. weapons and navigation systems. The examples could provide a serious wake-up call to defense contractors and others involved in the military supply chain. In one instance highlighted by the Senate report, it was pointed out that, on September 8th, the defense contractor Raytheon notified the Navy of the following:

TX Motorcycle Group Takes Harleys to Western Wall to Stand With Israel

The Blaze | by Billy Hallowell | Posted on November 9, 2011 at 7:18pm

TX Motorcycle Group Takes Harleys to Western Wall to Stand With IsraelWhat do you get when you mix 71 tattooed Texans, motorcycles, Orthodox Jews and Israel's Temple Mount? A prayer rally, apparently.

According to Beliefnet, on Sunday, 71 Harley-loving Pentecostals, part of "Mission M25," a motorcycle ministry, joined Jews who were praying at the Western Wall (the only portion of Solomon's Temple that still remains).

Grassfire Update

Net Neutrality Vote Thursday, Grassroots Call to Action!

Dear Patriot,

While debate continues to rage between Republicans and Democrats over the Congressional Review Act Resolution of Disapproval (S.J. Res. 6), to stop the Obama administration's illegal takeover of the Internet through Net Neutrality regulations, a vote is scheduled for sometime Thursday, Nov. 10.

Patriot, that means grassroots Americans literally have less than 24 hours to drive home their point to Senate lawmakers on both sides of the political aisle.

If you haven't yet responded to our repeated calls to action over the federal government's illegal power grab of the Internet, the time to act is now!

+ + Schedule your Faxes for Immediate Delivery!

With so little time remaining, Grassfire Nation is urging all members of our team to schedule personalized faxes for immediate delivery to key Senate targets -- including your two State lawmakers and Representative.

Click here now to ensure your faxes are delivered prior to this vote:

www.grassfire.com/2141/offer.asp?Ref_ID=500062

To hold the Obama administration at bay, fifty-one votes are needed -- including four Democrat votes. We've identified the most vulnerable Democrats in this vote, and are asking our team to blitz them with personalized faxes in the hours leading to this critical vote.

Click here to schedule your faxes for delivery:

www.grassfire.com/2141/offer.asp?Ref_ID=500062

For those preferring to send faxes on your own, simply download the fax numbers, and the letters if you prefer to send them on your own. Regardless of the methods you choose, it is important for citizens to act.

Thank you for your outstanding efforts.

Grassfire Nation and Patriot Action Network

P.S: A recent NYU study found that Net Neutrality's crushing federal regulations will likely cost the economy upwards of 100,000-200,000 jobs, and bring the tech sector to a screeching halt if they are put into effect beginning November 20.

Furthermore, private sector seed money and investments would all but disappear due to the fed's micro-managing of the Internet.

Don't delay. Schedule your faxes for immediate delivery by clicking here:

www.grassfire.com/2141/offer.asp?Ref_ID=500062

That was the question Yahoo! once used in its viral marketing campaign. The answer: about 90 percent of the country's voting-age population does. And today, The Blaze is happy to say that it does, too.

In a Tuesday press release, Yahoo! announced that The Blaze will be one of its 2012 election coverage partners.

Calls Needed

to

Oppose the U.S. Senate's Big-Government Education Bill

William A. Estrada, Esq.
HSLDA Federal Relations

Melanie P. Palazzo
Congressional Action Program Director

November 1, 2011

Introduction

The U.S. Senate Education Committee has decided to reauthorize the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA). This massive federal education bill was last reauthorized in 2001 as the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB).

HSLDA's federal relations staff have read this 868-page bill, and we believe that while it does not directly impact homeschool freedom, the bill will 1) increase the federal role in education at the expense of state, local, and parental control, and 2) will greatly increase the pressure on states to align their curriculum and standards, resulting in de facto national education standards.

Urgent Calls Needed to Senate Education Committee

The Senate Education Committee has already voted this ESEA bill out of committee, but at the urging of Senator Rand Paul (KY) the committee will hold a hearing on the bill Tuesday, November 8. If either of your senators are on the Education Committee, HSLDA urges you to call with the following message:

"I am concerned that the ESEA reauthorization bill scheduled for a committee hearing next Tuesday will greatly increase the federal government's control over education. As a homeschooler, I understand that parents-not federal education officials-are best suited to make educational choices for their children. Please oppose attempts to increase national control over education."

You may identify and contact your two U.S. senators using HSLDA's Legislative Toolbox.

Senators Paul, Richard Burr (NC), and Orrin Hatch (UT) share our concerns about this bill and should be thanked.

Background

In 2001, Congress passed NCLB. While HSLDA was neutral on this bill because it included strongly written protections for homeschoolers, and prohibitions on federal funding for national teacher certification, national standards, national testing, and national databases, NCLB also greatly increased the federal government's role in education.

A decade later, nearly all education policy makers agree that NCLB is too inflexible. HSLDA believes this illustrates that the federal government should not be in the business of establishing education policy for the nation's schoolchildren.

This past month, the U.S. Senate has been working on reauthorizing NCLB. HSLDA is concerned the Senate's bill continues the failed "Washington-knows-best, one-size-fits-all" approach that was widely criticized in NCLB. In addition, one provision in the Senate's bill mandates that any state taking federal funds must put in place "College and Career Ready Aligned Standards." Mandating that each state have aligned standards with aligned coursework will guarantee the creation of national academic standards, national curriculum, and national testing. We believe this will result in the eventual requirement that homeschoolers use these national standards, curriculum, and testing.

For more about HSLDA's concerns read "The Danger of National Standards" and "Nationalized Education Standards-an Update for Home Educators."

You may also read HSLDA's legislative summary.

It is still unclear at this point whether homeschool protections will stay in the Senate's education bill, but even if they do, the trend of national standards could lead to homeschoolers losing the freedom to choose the curriculum for their children. For these reasons, HSLDA is urging opposition to the Senate's ESEA reauthorization legislation.

A Special Invitation
To a Two-Day Campaign Training
Presented by Pennsylvania Family PAC

Changing the Culture by Winning Campaigns

November 9-10, 2011

Harrisburg, PA

Voters today - perhaps more than at any time in recent history - are yearning for principled candidates committed to standing strong for the timeless values upon which our country was founded and standing stronger against the politics-as-usual establishment working to undermine those values.

  •         Are you such a candidate - or do you know one running in your area that you'd like to help? or
  •         Do you wish you had the skills to help elect a good candidate? or
  • Have you thought about running for local or state elected office - or know of someone else?

The Winning Campaigns training school shows pro-life, pro-family, principled - candidates, campaign staff, and grassroots activists how to run winning campaigns without compromising their values - with a special emphasis placed on running and winning primaries (even against incumbents).

Who should attend?
Local or state candidates, potential candidates, campaign staff, campaign volunteers, grassroots leaders, and concerned citizens - who are committed to advancing pro-life/pro-family principles. This training is perfect for anyone who wishes to learn how to run or assist the local campaigns of those running for elected office.

What's the cost?
Nothing; registration is free, but you must register in advance.

More details on the event and an informational brochure are available by request. To get more information or to register, call Dan at 717-545-0600.

THIS IS BY INVITATION ONLY. YOU are invited (as a PA Family supporter), but if you know of someone else who could benefit from this training as a candidate or potential candidate or campaign worker, please let them know and have them contact us directly. But hurry, space is limited and reservations should be made by November 4th.

Join us as our friend, Dr. Rich Brake, presents:

An Original or Living Constitution?   Learning and Preserving America's Founding Principles

When:

11/19/2011 from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM

Where:

Freeman Auditorium (Valley Forge Military Academy) : 1001 Eagle Road Wayne, PA 19087

Attendees are encouraged to come to this morning-long seminar to learn more about the Roots of American Constitutionalism; the Fight over Ratification; the still-relevant Hamilton-Jefferson Debate; and the Progressive Critique of the U.S. Constitution. There will also be plenty of time for a vigorous question and answer session, as well as opportunity for networking with other citizens who care about the future of America's Constitutional Republic.

This seminar is free and open to the public, and will be conducted on the beautiful and historical grounds of the Valley Forge Military Academy. Light refreshments will be served. What a perfect setting for considering the vital institutions and principles that American Patriots have struggled and died to preserve for over two hundred years of American history.

Dr. Richard Brake is the Director of Education at the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI), a non-profit educational foundation with a mission to "Educate for Liberty"-by inspiring college students to discover and embrace the principles that make America prosperous, moral, and free. As part of his duties, Dr. Brake directs the Institute's Civic Literacy Program, which has documented the failure of America's top universities to teach their students the founding history, texts, and institutions of our constitutional republic. Dr. Brake earned a B.A. in History from Georgetown University; an M.A. in Government from the University of Virginia; and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Temple University. Prior to joining ISI, Dr. Brake taught American Politics and Constitutional Law at Temple University in Pennsylvania and the Richard Stockton College in New Jersey. Earlier in his career, Dr. Brake worked as a legislative assistant in both the Pennsylvania and U.S. Houses of Representatives, and in 2006 he retired at the rank of Captain after serving ten years as an Ordnance Officer in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

American and PA Laws for PA Courts

I urge you to stand with me and co-sponsor my new legislation, "American and Pennsylvania Laws for Pennsylvania Courts." This legislation protects the individual constitutional rights of the people of Pennsylvania from the incursion of foreign laws, in cases in which the application of a foreign law or foreign legal doctrine would violate someone's constitutional rights.

Go here to see the full document . . .:

Our constitutional rights and founding principles of freedom should not be abridged by any offshore entity, including and especially those who would promote Sharia law.

Once before on June 19, we asked that you contact your elected representatives and urge them to co-sponsor a bill to prohibit foreign law from consideration in any and all cases in our state courts.  You were very responsive and there are now 21 co-sponsors on the bill!

Listed below are the co-sponsors to date.  if your rep is not on the list, kindly contact him/her even if it's the second time, by taking the 3 action steps below.
The more co-sponsors the bill has the more likely it is that the legislators will vote affirmatively to pass it into law.

It is significant what Rep. Swanger's office said when sending us the list of co-sponsors
:
"I feel a lot of them co-sponsored because of the message that was sent out by you to contact the Reps about this legislation.   A lot of district offices & Harrisburg offices called or e-mailed right after that was sent out."

Here's the list:

Kerry Benninghoff

Scott Boyd

Dom Costa

Tom Creighton

George Dunbar

Frank Farry

Neal Goodman

Seth Grove

Kate Harper

Dick Hess

Scott Hutchinson

Rob

Kauffman

Daryl Metcalfe (asked to be listed as a 2nd)

Carl Metzgar

Scott Perry (asked to be listed 3rd)

Rick Saccone

Stan Saylor

Curt Schroder

Jerry Stern

Dick Stevenson

Will Tallman    Here are the action steps:

    1.  read the attached letter from Rep. Swanger, which went out in early June to all PA House members

    2.  visit, or call, your representative and ask him/her to call Rep. Swanger's secretary, Lily Horst, 717-787-2686, or email her at lhorst@pahousegop.com to be added to the list of the bill's cosponsors

    3.  timing: please move quickly, as they may be getting to the next step (obtaining a bill number).   Make contact, and gain their commitment, by August 1.  Having many co-sponsors on a bill, as you know, will help build momentum in the right direction quickly.

Thank you for your efforts.

"snacks; I.e. Slim jims, granola bars, you name it. Especially for units that go on patrol that have to eat MRE's all the time. Portable or carry size Snacks or small food items are invaluable to a soldier out on a 4 week mission. Bigger items might include small coolers or anything that might keep drinks cold. I also found something as simple as a coffee thermos was incredibly invaluable. Off mission speaking, footballs, soccer balls, DVD movies, magazines and newspapers from home are great. Also Non-elastic bed sheets can provide comfort and privacy if hung up for soldiers crammed in living areas. Hope this helps!"

Thomas Jefferson: "Whensoever the general government assumes undelegated powers....a nullification of the act is the rightful remedy."

But what IS nullification? How does it happen and work? Since September 2010, the Tenth Amendment Center has been hosting a national tour to educate and activate people on this topic. People are learning the constitutional basis, when it's been used in history, and how it is happening around the country and how YOU can stop DC right in your own state.

RedState

RedState Morning Briefing

For November 10, 2011

I'll spare you a formal post on the CNBC Debate. Let me just state that of all the stupid debates and all the stupid questions we have been subjected to, I do not believe there could be a more stupid debate with stupider questions than the CNBC Debate. It is the freaking business channel and we were subjected to 90 painful minutes of the Republican candidates explaining how business works to the moderators.

No one treated Herman Cain as the front runner. Even Herman Cain didn't treat Herman Cain as the front runner.

The clear winner is Newt Gingrich who will now become the alternative to Mitt Romney, though it is doubtful he will be able to weather the media storm into his personal life. Believe it or not, Rick Perry had the best damn debate performance of his entire Presidential career last night. He gave fantastic answers. And then . . . wow. What a disaster. It was like finally getting your sail boat out of dry dock to enjoy your first enjoyable sail only to sink. He's going to need every penny of that $15 million after that.

Mitt Romney gave very good answers as usual, but I remain shocked that after all this time he still cannot answer questions on the individual mandate without flubbing.

That's your debate review. Can we just give CNN a monopoly on the debates? They seem to be the only network that is capable of doing one with substantive questions. Heck, CNBC would not even live stream its debate. Hello? 21st Century calling.

1. From Insult to Injury: Obama Owes Netanyahu An Apology

Allies are people you work with. Garden pests and leaky faucets are things you "deal with."

President Obama doesn't seem to know the difference.

At the G20 summit last week in France, he let out his true feelings on Israel. And a live mic was there to catch it all.

Here's the exchange between President Obama and French President Sarkozy on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:

-Sarkozy: "I cannot bear Netanyahu."

-Obama: "You're sick of him, but I have to deal with him every day."

Deal with?

2. The Virginia Way: A Governor's Guide to Results Oriented Conservatism + What it Means for 2012

When your state is known as the "Mother of Presidents", and home to Yorktown, Mount Vernon, Monticello, Appomattox, and the first permanent English settlement in America, you don't toss around the saying "we made history" too lightly.

But, my friends, I am pleased to say that is exactly what the Commonwealth of Virginia did Tuesday. We Made History.

3. When Not Thinking, You Run On Autopilot - Even David Gregory

Were someone in casual conversation to refer to a black person as the n word or even as "colored," what would the reaction be? And if that person immediately took to twitter to say the "remark this morning was a very poor choice of words. Did not mean to make that connection at all. Was not thinking. I apologize," what would people think?

Typically when something like that happens, the presumption is that the person must have had his brain on autopilot and released his inner thinking without passing it through the "acceptable discourse" filter or some such. There could be other explanations - maybe he read something or heard something ahead of time and it got lodged in the input/output loop. That happens to everyone.

What exactly explains David Gregory this morning saying there are no "Grand Wizards" in the GOP to push Herman Cain out of the race?

And this begs a real and serious question I must ask again: After David Gregory's "Grand Wizard" comment, why the hell does the GOP want to let NBC conduct another GOP debate?

If the GOP is going to boycott Univision because of its Marco Rubio family smear, why not boycott NBC's January debate in Florida because of its routine and collective smear of the GOP?

4. The Michigan Republican Who Will Raise Your Taxes

For this week's primary target, I want to make an exception. I do it because the Congressman deserves it and to make a point. I want to focus on someone who represents a district that is split evenly between Republicans and Democrats. For sure, I think its wise to focus on those Republicans who are wasting a good conservative seat, which is why I have covered districts so far that are +10 GOP seats or better. Those are no brainers. But I'd be remiss if I didn't occasionally draw attention to liberal Republicans in swing districts also - particularly one on the Super Committee who seems hell bent on raising your taxes.

Why? For a couple of reasons. First of all, conservatives can hold these seats when they are principled and willing to explain themselves to their constituents. Republican politicos love to forget that Pat Toomey represented a Democrat district that voted for Al Gore, John Kerry, and Barak Obama. He was a die hard advocate of free trade amidst calls for steel tariffs in the steel mills of Allentown, Pennsylvania. He didn't just vote and hide. He was typically the leader of House conservatives during his time in the House of Representatives. He would win handily with winning percentages of 57% (2002), 53% (2000), and 55% (1998). And now he is serving in the United States Senate representing the blue state of Pennsylvania.

5. Charlotte Workers Offered Free Legal Aid To Fight DNC Convention Discrimination

You've probably seen the reports from RedState's Ben Howe on the Democratic National Committee discriminating against union-free Charlotte-area businesses on awarding 2012 Convention work, then Charlotte's Mayor Foxx denying it, only to see the DNC award the Convention work to a Beltway union-company anyway.

6. Rick Perry on Federalism & Immigration

When Governor Perry and I sat down last week in Orange County, CA, I wanted to drill down on two areas of interest for conservative voters.

First, in his book Fed Up!, Governor Perry repeatedly returned to the idea of federalism, but few people have really explored that with him. This transitioned into some questions on immigration, his views on amnesty, and what role the states have to pay in immigration laws with Washington doing nothing.

Pick a fight with a liberal on:

SELF-ESTEEM.
One of the great excuses made for the poorer performances by certain ethnic groups is their "lack of self-esteem"-which comes, of course, from the sense of inferiority imposed on them either consciously or unconsciously by the white, elitist, capitalist, male hegemony. Much of this stems from research conducted by black socialist Kenneth B. Clark using his infamous "doll" tests. He showed black children in segregated schools a black doll and a white doll and asked which they preferred. When a majority chose the white doll, he argued that segregated schooling lowered black self-esteem. But Clark was a professional grievance-monger and a fraud. What he did not mention was that in research he had conducted in integrated schools, black children were shown to be even more likely to choose the white doll over the black doll. Clark's junk sociology was the basis for sweeping legislation forcing integration in schools through wildly unpopular school busing programs that tore communities apart; and it's also responsible for more recent findings that American kids do worse than many of their international counterparts on academic tests-but think of themselves as being great, and much smarter than they really are. What self-esteem really is, is another liberal assault on a Christian virtue: namely, humility. We could all use a lot more of that.

 All American Muslim

All-American Muslims will start airing

November 13th on TLC.

American Decency Association plans to monitor the program.

The Learning Channel (TLC) plans to air the first episode of All-American Muslims on Sunday, November 13, 2011, 10 PM EST.

The program will profile five Muslim families who live in Dearborn Michigan.  This show, since it is called All-American Muslims, will most likely be void of any information regarding Muslims in the United States who want America controlled by Islamic Sharia law.  After all, would that not be UNAmerican.

Approximately thirty three percent (33%) of Dearborn Michigan's population are from Arab decent according to Wikipedia.  Many changes in culture and public policy have taken place in Dearborn and surrounding cities as result of the increase in Muslim populations.

Thomas More Law Center issued the following report:

Christian Pastor's Free Speech Victory against City Dearborn     May 26, 2011

The U. S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled today that Sudanese Christian Pastor George Saieg has a free speech right to distribute religious literature on public sidewalks and evangelize Muslims during the Annual Arab International Festival held each year in Dearborn, Michigan.

For five years Saieg, who specifically ministers to Muslims, had been discussing his Christian faith and passing out literature on Dearborn's sidewalks during the Festival without encountering any  problems. Nevertheless, in 2009 police officials informed him he had to remain in a booth, prohibiting him from distributing his literature on the nearby sidewalks and public streets.

Dearborn is one of the most densely populated Muslim communities in the United States.  It has the largest Mosque in North America.  In the past few years Dearborn has gained national attention for taking a pro-Muslim stance and for the arrest and intimidation of Christian evangelists for engaging in protected speech activity.

The Thomas More Law Center (TMLC), a national conservative Christian public interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, filed the federal lawsuit on behalf of Pastor Saieg in 2009, naming the City of Dearborn and its police chief, Ronald Haddad, as defendants.  The case was handled by TMLC Senior Trial Counsel Rob Muise.

In ruling for Saieg, the court recognized the problem Saieg had with booth-based evangelizing: "the penalty of leaving Islam according to Islamic books is death," which makes Muslims reluctant to approach a booth that is publically "labeled as ... Christian."

Click here to read the full report.

This is just one of several accounts of the bias that has occurred against the Christian faith in favor of Islamic rule at the hands of Dearborn officials.

It is troubling that the Learning Channel would give the "All-American" stamp of approval to a culture that has many followers of Islam who strongly oppose traditional, American values.  The title of this show alone is irresponsible from that perspective.

Morning Bell: The Debate Over Iran

Yesterday, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) released a report confirming that Iran has made substantial progress in its nuclear weapons program. The IAEA says it "has serious concerns regarding possible military dimensions to Iran's nuclear programme" and that "Iran has carried out activities relevant to the development of a nuclear explosive device."

Though not surprising, the news is nonetheless alarming. A nuclear Iran poses a significant threat to the United States and its allies in the region, yet to date the Obama Administration's response has fallen far short. Heritage's James Phillips explains, "The new IAEA report also should inject a greater sense of urgency into the Obama Administration over Iran's accelerating nuclear efforts." He also details the White House's inadequate posture to date:

PM Netanyahu: Compensate Palestinians instead of destroying homes

Dr. Aaron Lerner - IMRA:

Pop quiz from Israel Law 101: Shimon builds an apartment complex on land in Ramat Gan. It turns out that the land apartment complex is sitting on is owned by Yosef.

Question: What do the courts in Israel rule?

A. Demolish the apartment complex.
B. The apartment complex is the property of Yosef since he own the law.
C. Shimon has to compensate Yosef for the property and Shimon retains possession of the apartment complex.

Answer: C.

And this has in fact happened.

So why is it that when the government lawyers get involved in a case they think that the answer is "A" only because he property is owned by Yousef instead of Yosef?

And why is is that the same courts that rule "C" for Yosef rule "A" for Yousef?

Well it has nothing to do with the law and absolutely everything to do with the political leanings of the government lawyers and the court judges.

Again. No one is claiming that Yousef should not...

MKs: 'One Way or Another, Left's Foreign Funds Will be Cut Off'

The Knesset will soon vote on two bills that will halt, or at least drastically curtail, donations by EU countries to leftist groups.
By David Lev

While Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Monday night that his Likud party would support a law that would prohibit non-profit political organizations from receiving contributions from foreign governments, Yisrael Beiteinu believes it has a better idea: Allowing groups to receive contributions, but placing an onerous tax of 45% on them.

The law prohibiting contributions altogether is actually co-sponsored by Yisrael Beiteinu MK Robert Iliatov, and party chairman Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman has expressed support for it. The taxation bill is being sponsored by MK Faina Kirschenbaum, also from Yisrael Beiteinu.

The Likud has not yet said if it was going to support the latter bill as well, but Yisrael Beiteinu said that it would demand that the Ministerial Law Committee approve both bills for Knesset consideration at its...

Obama Caught on Live Mic Blasting Netanyahu to French PM

'You're Fed Up With Him But I Have to Deal With Him Every Day!'

In a "faux pas" for the ages, President Barack Obama conducted what he assumed was a private conversation about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with French President Nicolas Sarkozy after the G20 summit on Thursday. The only problem, however, was that the microphones the two men were wearing from their earlier press conference, had not in fact been turned off. What ensued was a major public embarrassment after both Obama and the French PM disparaged Netanyahu, saying they cannot "stand" dealing with him.

According to a Monday report in the French website "Arret sur Images," Sarkozy told Obama, "I cannot stand him . He is a liar." Rather than exercising diplomacy, however, Obama hopped on the bash-wagon, reportedly telling Sarkozy: "You're fed up with him, but I have to deal with him every day!"

Ynet adds:

The conversation apparently began with President...

Sarkozy's Mendacity

Laura: Sarkozy is a mendacious coward. Like his predecessors of Vichy France, Sarkozy is choosing to collaborate with genocidal Jew-killers in the mistaken belief that France itself will be spared. Israel's offshore gas reserves poised to rise

More good news about Israel's offshore gas fields coming on stream in less than two years, thanks in part to Noble Energy of Houston. This will make Israel a significant producer of natural gas for both domestic consumption and export to the EU. This development together with the on-shore oil shale field with an estimated 260 billion barrels that we have published reports -See Israel's Black Gold- will doubtless change the shape of geo-political alliances. Witness Israel's budding alliances with Cyprus and even Greece. Israel will be squaring off against Russia with potentially more reliable delivery of natural gas for the EU economies.

Now, more than ever Israel has to resolve the secret war with nuclear Iran and its proxies to realize its world political gains arising from natural gas and oil shale development.

Turks Gang-Rape 13 Year Old Girl

Musloids will be Musloids; was Aisha also able to give "consent" to Mohammad?

Turkish court reduces sentences for men accused of raping 13-year-old reports,

Human rights groups have reacted with outrage after a Turkish appeals court reduced prison sentences for 26 men convicted of having sex with a 13-year-old girl, because the victim had given "consent".

This is the same country that sanctioned the use of its flag by terrorists seeking to violate Israel's blockade of Gaza. In fairness to Recep Tayyip Erdo?an, however, his government did distance itself from the court's leniency for the child rapists.

Let Cain be Cain : He doesn't have to search for a message - he is the message

Nov 09, 2011 05:13 am | Coach Collins

 By James Lewis, staff writer

Herman Cain now has enough money to hire a Karl Rove to guide him through the treacherous swamp of politics. The trouble is that those advisors might be trying to turn Cain into somebody else.

Cain's biggest appeal is his genuineness. Like Ronald Reagan, he has to find that inner core and also fend off the attack dogs.

My guess is that his new advisors are telling him to be cool and slick, like Mitt Romney, the packaged candidate. Wrong. Cain is a different kind of person. His strength is being himself.

The media are always setting traps to bring down conservatives, because they know exactly how powerful our message can be. Reagan was a master, but he had many years to prepare. I think Palin has the same talent of being genuine and appealing at the same time. It's a rare talent, and conservatives should treasure those who have it. ... Lanny Breuer presents latest Fast and Furious cover story for Eric Holder and the Regime

Nov 08, 2011 01:13 pm | Coach Collins

 By Doug Book, staff writer

Since time began,  power hungry egotists have depended upon the willingness of lick-spittle underlings to bring disrepute upon their own reputations for  "the good of the team."

On Tuesday,  before the Senate Judiciary Committee,  Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer joined that club of slinking weasels by taking the blame for Attorney General Eric Holder's professed extended ignorance of Operation Fast and Furious.

Coincidentally testifying just after a 650 page document dump by the Department Of Justice,  Breuer made the particulars of his Regime prescribed assignment quite clear:  blame the  "Gunwalking"  proclivities of the ATF on the Bush Administration;  blame the weakness of current gun legislation for both increasing lawlessness on the border and the necessary implementation of dangerous,  Fast and Furious type schemes;  and blame himself for Eric Holder not being up to speed on the Operation much earlier in 2011.

Quite a lot of blame,  but of course NONE of it ... Continue Reading:Lanny Breuer presents latest Fast and Furious cover story for Eric Holder and the Regime

The Professional Protester

Contrary to their own claim that they represent the 99 percent and the media's ceaseless hype, OWS is about as representative of ordinary Americans as your average professional protester. Which is not very.

Even opponents of the Tea Party could not seriously claim that it was a movement of professional protesters, but that's exactly what OWS is, leavened with assorted hippies, homeless people and bored students and aging radicals along for the ride.

The professional protester is the left's answer to everything, built around a core of far-left groups and community organizations that use local protests as a form of blackmail, these are the people who show up at everything from anti-war rallies to budget meetings with variations of the same tired agenda.

The rioting and anti-semitism are hardly a surprise. The professional protester contingent has its anarchists who can be counted on to start smashing things at the wrong time and groups who run the gamut from supporting Hamas to believing that Jews are actually reptilian space monsters in disguise.

Big unions who have their own paid non-union picketers to come out and shout slogans or hand out leaflets targeting whatever business has run afoul of the bosses this week, who don't believe anything they're saying, but are also much less likely to start screaming racial slurs or otherwise embarrassing their union employers. (No health care benefits of course, this is a strictly freelance arrangement.)

The left can turn out numbers, but their core runs the gamut from Communists to the LaRouchites who will show up to every rally and claim to be ordinary people who are fed up with the banks, the wars and the Queen of England. And those rallies don't get big until they draw out every aging radical and bored college student, and when they do, they still have to contend with with the core.

Fortunately the media sympathetically avoids any mention of the ugly big tent that these protests draw on, presenting them as just plain ordinary folks. And when the violence happens, it's always the fault of the police, not of the perfectly nice bomb throwers who believe in overthrowing the government and putting up reeducation camps for everyone.

The Foundation

"In the first place, it is to be remembered, that the general government is not to be charged with the whole power of making and administering laws: its jurisdiction is limited to certain enumerated objects, which concern all the members of the republic, but which are not to be attained by the separate provisions of any." --James Madison

Editorial Exegesis

Corporate welfare from the community chest

"The Occupy Wall Street protesters aren't good at articulating what they want, but one of their demands is 'end corporate welfare.' Well, welcome aboard. Some of us have been fighting crony capitalism for decades, and it's good to have new allies if liberals have awakened to the dangers of the corporate welfare state. Corporate welfare is the offer of special favors -- cash grants, loans, guarantees, bailouts and special tax breaks -- to specific industries or firms. The government doesn't track the overall cost of these programs, but in 2008 the Cato Institute made an attempt and came up with $92 billion for fiscal 2006, which is more than the U.S. government spends on homeland security. That annual cost may have doubled to $200 billion in this new era of industry bailouts and subsidies. ... This industrial policy model of government as a financial partner with business can sound appealing, but the government's record in picking winners and losers has been dreadful. Some of the most expensive flops include the Supersonic Transport plane of the mid-1970s, Jimmy Carter's $2 billion Synthetic Fuels Corporation (the precursor to clean energy), Amtrak, which hasn't turned a profit in four decades, and the most expensive public-private partnership debacle of all time, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which have lost $142 billion of taxpayer money. ... Americans understand that powerful government invariably favors the powerful, who have the means and access to massage Congress and the bureaucracy that average citizens do not. This really is aid to the 1% paid by the other 99%. Yet the parade of subsidies gets longer each year, perhaps, as the old joke goes, because in Washington Republicans love corporations and Democrats love welfare. As House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan puts it: 'How can we save billions of dollars from unjustified subsidy and entitlement programs, if we can't get corporate America off the dole?'" --The Wall Street Journal

"With nine days to go before the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) faces default, a Senate committee on Wednesday is expected to vote on a new plan to address the crisis. ... The legislation would ... provide USPS billions in cash from taxpayers. Specifically, it would hand over some $7 billion in supposedly 'surplus' contributions the government has made to the Federal Employees Retirement System. Such temporary surpluses, however, are common and are typically erased by normal financial swings or amortization over time. Transfer of the entire pot to USPS leaves taxpayers vulnerable if USPS later falls behind (which, given its condition, is not unlikely) while allowing needed structural reforms to be delayed. ... USPS, and mail delivery itself, faces an uncertain future. Comprehensive change is needed to prevent massive losses and virtual bankruptcy. The reforms being considered by the Senate, however, fall short -- while putting taxpayers even more at risk for the consequences of failure." --The Heritage Foundation's James Gattuso

"The Internal Revenue Service can follow individual people over the years because they can identify individuals from their Social Security numbers. During recent years, when 'the top one percent' as an income category has been getting a growing share of the nation's income, IRS data show that actual flesh and blood people who were in the top one percent in 1996 had their incomes go down -- repeat, DOWN -- by a whopping 26 percent by 2005. ... [M]ost people who are in the top one percent in a given year do not stay in that bracket over the years. If we are being serious ... then our concern should be with what is happening to actual flesh and blood human beings, not what is happening to abstract income brackets." --economist Thomas Sowell

"[T]he White House revealed that it would fight a GOP House subpoena for internal documents related to the half-trillion-dollar, stimulus-funded, now-bankrupt Solyndra solar energy loan bust. White House counsel Kathryn Ruemmler fumed that the information request placed an 'unreasonable burden on the president's ability to meet his constitutional duties.' ... Ruemmler further complained that the subpoena represents 'a significant intrusion on executive branch interests.' ... While she paints the request as a last-minute surprise, the White House has been stonewalling on Solyndra all year long. And as Reason magazine's Tim Cavanaugh points out: Compliance would be 'the work of a few hours, at a time when the executive branch has 2.8 million employees. The whole thing could be done by staffers, leaving the president to focus on golf and fundraising and long, boring speeches.'" --columnist Michelle Malkin

The Demo-gogues

A good pat on the back: "Well, I think we are better off now than we would have been if I hadn't taken all the steps that I took." --Barack Obama

"We were able to prevent America from going into a Great Depression. We were able to, after a series of quarterly GDP reports that were the worst that we've seen since the Great Depression, reverse it and get the economy to grow again. We've seen 20 straight months of consecutive job growth." --Barack Obama

Sure thing: "I have to tell you, the least of my concerns at the moment is the politics of a year from now. I'm worried about putting people back to work right now because those folks are hurting and the U.S. economy is underperforming." --Barack Obama

The BIG Lie: "From a policy standpoint I think it's really important to know that President Obama was a job creator from day one. Now, was the ditch that we were in so deep that when you're talking to people and they still don't have a job, that's any consolation to them? No. But I'll tell you this: If President Obama and the House congressional Democrats had not acted, we would be at 15 percent unemployment." --House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA)

Blame Republicans: "We've taken every important piece of the jobs bill and demanded that we have a separate vote. But our Republican colleagues in the Senate have voted unanimously to vote down each and every part so far: to restore 400,000 jobs for teachers, police officers, firefighters, putting them back in classrooms, on the streets and in the fire houses. ... So, look, we can't wait. If the Republican Congress won't join us, we're going to continue to act on our own to make the changes that we can to bring relief to middle-class families and those aspiring to get in the middle class." --Joe Biden

Dezinformatsia

Non Compos Mentis: "Well, I'm going to be pilloried for this. I think get rid of the Second Amendment, the right to bear arms. I just think in the grand scheme of the rights that we have; the right of assembly, free speech, I mean, owning a gun does not, it does not tally on the same level as those other constitutional rights. And being more discreet about who gets to have a firearm and right to kill with a firearm, I think is something that would be in our national interest to revisit that." --Huffington Post's Alex Wagner when asked by HBO's Bill Maher what she would change about the Constitution -- she would take away the right that guarantees all the others

Pushing from the Left: "Do you not feel that by opposing [a tax hike on millionaires to pay for Obama's jobs bill] you're basically out of step with the American people on this issue? ... Do you agree at all that there should be any kind of tax increases?" --ABC's Christiane Amanpour to Speaker John Boehner

Another BIG Lie: "The American Dream is all about social mobility in a sense -- the idea that anyone can make it. ... The American dream seems to be thriving in Europe not at home." --CNN's Fareed Zalaria

Conspiracy theories: "[Herman Cain] is just the latest purchase by the Koch brothers. They purchased Michele Bachmann, they purchased Sarah Palin, for this purpose: it's to go out and talk crazy talk. It's to talk about taking more things away from the middle class and giving more to the rich. It's about deregulating virtually everything to where the Koch brothers can go ahead and kill more people with their toxins." --radio talk-show host Mike Papantonio

Good grief: "I wanted to say something about, if they're trying to find out who instigated this, much of, we owe a lot to the Arab Spring and the Democracy movement that were and are taking place across the Arab world. And we owe a lot to that young man in Tunisia who couldn't take it anymore and set himself on fire to make this statement that really ignited this movement. But, but even before that, what got him upset? What got him politically charged was that he read the truth about the corruption of his own government that was supplied to him by Wikileaks. And where did Wikileaks get that information allegedly? From a young private, a gay soldier by the name of Bradley Manning. And, let's give it up to Bradley Manning." --leftist filmmaker Michael Moore to the Occupy Wall Street movement

Two weeks ago we published a humorous exchange during an interview between CNN's Piers Morgan and Michael Moore. When asked to admit that he was "in the 1 percent," Moore objected, "How can I be in the percent?" Morgan cut to the chase: "Because you're worth millions." This time around, Moore grew even more agitated when a CBS reporter again questioned him on his wealth. Here's the exchange:

Reporter: How are you helping these [Occupy protesters]?
Moore: Because I do well, I want taxes raised on people who do well, including mine.
Reporter: How are you helping these people with your $50 million?
Moore: I don't have $50 million.
Reporter: That's what it's rumored you are worth.
Moore: Well, really. Is that what you do is sell rumors?
Reporter: We're asking you for the truth.
Moore: You're just punk media is all you are. You lie. You lie to people. Stop lying to people. Stop lying.
Reporter: Are you not part of the 1 percent?
Moore: Just don't lie, okay?

For almost a half century, that has been the mantra of legendary Penn State Football coach Joe Paterno.  Paterno, who became football coach in 1966, sought this culture on and off the football field, more concerned with creating fine, upstanding young men than winning football games.  There was no more ethically responsible, "do it the right way" collegiate athletic program in the country than Penn State.  Until now.

Obama's Red Tape: Tsunami or Ripple?

By James Gattuso

Are regulations being produced by the Obama Administration at a significantly faster rate than under previous administrations?

Not at all, say White House officials, arguing that the growing spool of red tape from Washington is just business as usual.

"The costs are not out of line by historical standards," Cass Sunstein, the director of the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, said last week.

Earlier this year, he went even further, writing in The Washington Post that "The annual cost of regulations has not increased during the Obama Administration."

This would be welcome news-if true. But by almost every measure, the Obama Administration has imposed regulations at a faster clip than its predecessors. And despite a much-hyped initiative to root out obsolete rules, regulatory costs are continuing to rise.

Videos: Eric Holder Knows Nothing, Nothing, About Fast and Furious
By Ben Johnson, The White House Watch

The congressmen who asked Eric Holder to testify on Capitol Hill today should cite the Justice Department for contempt. They expected to cross-examine General Holder and they got Sergeant Schultz.

Holder said he was just as upset as everyone else, and shocked - shocked! - that guns were being trafficked to Mexican drug cartels by his agency. He wanted to get to the bottom of this nefarious activity himself. "Like each of you, I want to know why and how firearms that should have been under surveillance could wind up in the hands of Mexican drug cartels," he said....

Obama, Liberals Want to Steal the Pentagon's Pot of Gold
By Susan Stamper Brown, FloydReports.com

On this Veteran's Day, 2011, our thoughts should turn once again toward our military, who find themselves busier than they have been in recent memory. Despite the tempo of current operations, our president appears determined to govern a peacetime force by way of withdrawal and drawback.

If the budget committee fails to reach an agreement, the military stands to be cut by epic proportions, which they seem poised to do, barring any eleventh-hour deal. These cuts should come as no surprise to anyone considering that this is what usually happens when a liberal Democrat is in the Oval Office.

With dollar signs in their eyes, liberals ignore the federal government's core responsibility of defending its citizens, and instead salivate over the opportunity to get their hands on....

 Americans for Prosperity

Do you need any outrageously overpriced solar panels today?

Because President Obama seems to think you and I need a lot of them-and that's why he steered a whopping $535 million dollars in taxpayer money to Solyndra, a so-called "green jobs" factory.

But it really was a favor factory run by some of Obama's biggest financial supporters.

This past September, just months after President Obama called them the "true engine of economic growth," Solyndra closed its doors, put thousands of people out of work, and left you and me stuck with the bill for $535 million dollars.

Of course, President Obama and the liberal mainstream media are doing their best to keep this story from reaching the American people-to the point that Congress actually had to subpoena President Obama last week, just to find out what actually happened to our taxpayer dollars.

Here's what President Obama doesn't want anyone to know:

--He wasted hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to subsidize a failing company owned by one of his biggest financial supporters,

--He knew Solyndra was nearly bankrupt-and decided to dump even more of our money down the drain in a failed attempt to keep them afloat,

--He now plans to spend another billion dollars to subsidize more "green technology" products that the American people don't want or need.

And that's exactly why AFP just launched a massive new national TV ad campaign to expose the truth behind Obama's Solyndra mess.

You can view this ad, "Obama's Green Giveaway," by clicking here: http://www.americansforprosperity.org/ol1111ctv1

AFP must raise $50,000 to keep this ad on TV and reach the American people with the information they have a right to know. How their tax dollars are being wasted. That Obama wants to push another billion dollars in dead-end subsidies and stick you and me with the bill.

And we're counting on the help of true AFP activists like you to help us make the difference.

Please click here to make your most generous donation of $25, $50, $100 or more to help keep this TV ad on the air: http://www.americansforprosperity.org/ol1111ct1

I can't begin to tell you how critical it is for us to get out this ad to the American people.

Rather than working to fix our critical jobs and economic problems, President Obama chose to waste over a half-billion of our taxpayer dollars on useless "green technology."

And instead of helping put Americans back to work, or reduce our out-of-control federal deficit, President Obama chose to use our money to bail out his biggest financial supporters' failing solar panel company.

The American people deserve better- they deserve to know about what's going on. And the waste and out of control spending must stop.

By helping air AFP's "Obama's Green Giveaway" TV ad in as many cities as possible, we can help expose the truth to tens of millions of Americans about what happened with Solyndra and alert them about President Obama's plan to dump billions more of taxpayer dollars down the drain, all to further dead end "green jobs".

Can we count on your critical donation today?

Please click here to immediately donate $25, $50, $100 or whatever you can give right to now to help us reach our goal of $50,000: http://www.americansforprosperity.org/ol1111ct1

Linda, thank you for helping us alert millions of Americans about President Obama's Solyndra disaster-and thank you for your continued support of Americans for Prosperity.

Sincerely,

JP DeGance, AFP

P.S. President Obama wasted $535 million dollars in taxpayer dollars on Solyndra to reward his biggest financial supporters and subsidize dead end "green jobs" at a time when millions of Americans don't have real jobs. Please help AFP stop him by keeping our new TV ad campaign on the air. Click here to donate $25, $50, $100 or more by clicking here: http://www.americansforprosperity.org/ol1111ct1

Shapiro, Richards give Dems win in Montco

A new era began Tuesday in Montgomery County as two Democratic candidates stood poised to take control of the county's government for the first time in its history.

With nearly 70 percent of precincts reporting, the duo of Josh Shapiro and Leslie Richards held a comfortable lead over GOP rivals Bruce L. Castor Jr. and Jenny Brown.

"Leslie and I are extremely grateful for the support of Montgomery County," Shapiro said. "We know we have a lot of work to do and we're going to do it in a bipartisan manner."

Meanwhile, Castor - the outspoken incumbent who conceded the Democratic majority just after 11 p.m. - stood in danger of possibly losing his seat on the board altogether.

Both Shapiro and Richards individually exceeded his vote tally as of late Tuesday. Only about 1,000 votes separated Castor and his running mate, Lower Merion Commissioner Jenny Brown.

"I'm hoping I'll finish fourth," Castor said dryly. "But I'm afraid it's going to be third."

COUNTDOWN TO VICTORY: 363 DAYS TO THE 2012 ELECTIONS

Democrats Demand Higher Taxes

Republican members of the deficit reduction super committee put a $1.2 trillion proposal on the table this week. According to various news reports, the plan represents a significant shift for the GOP members in that it "included, for the first time, new tax revenue to the tune of about $300 billion."

The plan, proposed by Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA), proposes to cut $700 billion in spending, raises $300 billion through various means, such as selling off federal land, and brings in additional $300 billion in tax revenues. It represents a 2.3-to-1 ratio in terms of spending cuts to tax increases, achieved by limiting deductions while lowering tax rates. Democrats flatly rejected Toomey's proposal.

The Washington Post quotes a Democrat source who said, "It's impossible to net out $250 billion, unless they're willing to raise rates on capital gains and dividends. ...They either think we're morons or desperate." I'm going with the former.

There is a reason -- a very good reason -- why we have a separate and lower capital gains tax rate. It is the one major tax policy that can encourage investment and economic growth, and the Democrats are bound and determined to raise it! Raising capital gains taxes might make Democrats feel good, but it is bad economic policy that always results in less investment and lower revenues. Raising capital gains taxes now would be a moronic thing to do!

Election Results

Listening to the liberal news media today you would think that Republicans got skunked in last night's off-year elections. While it's true that there were a few high profile losses, the result was more mixed.

Democrats and their big labor allies are crowing about the lop-sided repeal of an Ohio law limiting collective bargaining rights for public sector employees. Voters rejected the law 61% to 39%. But those same Ohio voters passed an initiative rejecting ObamaCare by an even larger margin -- 66% to 34%.

For whatever reason, Ohio Republicans could not close the deal as they did in Wisconsin, where big labor's recall efforts were beaten back. If there is any lesson to be gleaned from the results in Ohio it is probably that voters do not like overreaching by either party. They don't want big government telling them what they must do with their own money. And they don't like it when it appears as though the middle class is bearing the brunt of cost-cutting measures.

While controlling spending is absolutely essential, Republicans, while fighting the unions, cannot be seen as enemies of policemen, firefighters and teachers. These are honorable, necessary professions that employ many good people who are genuine public servants.

In the gubernatorial races, nothing changed. Democrat Steve Beshear was reelected in Kentucky, while the Republican lieutenant governor succeeded Haley Barbour in Mississippi. In Virginia, the GOP picked up six seats in the state House, winning a historic two-thirds majority. It also appears poised to take control of the state Senate. There will be a recount in one race in which the incumbent Democrat is losing by just 86 votes. (Yes, every vote does matter!)

Obama carried Virginia in 2008, but last night's results led the Washington Post to run a story headlined, "Virginia Elections May Be A Warning Sign For Obama." If the results hold, it would mark the third consecutive year in which Democrats took a beating in the Old Dominion, strongly suggesting that Obama's hopes for a repeat win in 2012 are fading fast.

In Mississippi, a ballot initiative to declare that life begins at conception failed by a wide-margin -- 42% to 58%. It was disappointing to see the pro-life cause suffer such a loss in this conservative state. But pro-life groups were divided on the merits of the initiative, and pro-abortion groups spread a lot of misinformation that confused many voters.

In Arizona, State Sen. Russell Pearce, who spearheaded that state's tough anti-illegal immigration law (SB 1070), lost a recall election to a more moderate Republican.

But in western Pennsylvania, Republicans scored a major upset, taking control of the Westmoreland County Commission for the first time since 1956. Democrats there have a 53% to 37% advantage in voter registration, which makes the GOP win all the more surprising, adding to speculation that the Keystone State may not be securely in Obama's column on Election Day 2012.

"Ain't Gonna Happen"

At his press conference yesterday, Herman Cain once again categorically denied sexually harassing anyone. He even offered to take a lie detector test. (I wonder if his accusers would do the same?)

Cain vowed to continue speaking out against these allegations in order to defend his character and reputation. He also vowed to stay in the race, saying, "As far as these accusations causing me to back off and maybe withdraw from this presidential primary race -- ain't gonna happen."

Unfortunately for Cain and the country, I don't think this sordid story is going away either. When we have so much at stake, when we should be focused on stopping Obama's socialism, we are sidetracked by unsubstantiated scandals. America deserves better.

Is Newt Next?

There is no question that Newt Gingrich's campaign, once written off for dead, is experiencing a rebirth of sorts. Of all the candidates, Newt is the only one whose numbers are going up right now, and several polls have found that Gingrich may be best positioned to capitalize on the conservative vacuum if Cain collapses.

Newt's campaign must be encouraged by a lengthy editorial in today's Wall Street Journal by Dorothy Rabinowitz making the case for "Why Gingrich Could Win." Consider this excerpt:

"Finally, Mr. Gingrich announced that as the Republican nominee he would challenge President Obama to seven Lincoln-Douglas-style debates. 'I think I can represent American exceptionalism, free enterprise, the rights of private property and the Constitution, better than [Obama] can represent class warfare, bureaucratic socialism, weakness in foreign policy, and total confusion in the economy.'"

Tune In Tonight!

The Republican presidential candidates will debate the economy, jobs and the housing crisis tonight at 8:00 PM ET on CNBC.

Susan's Paul Ryan Medicare Pamphlet - please print this and give it to your contacts

SAVING MEDICARE

Since 1964, our nation's senior citizens have relied on Medicare to ensure access to healthcare. Now the program is going broke -- and it is going broke fast.

It began spending its reserves in 2008 when payouts exceeded dollars collected for the program. [cite]

Predictions for exhaustion of the reserve vary, with 2024 identified by the Social Security Administration in the Trustees 2011 report. [cite]

The Democrat response is to reduce the amount Medicare reimburses physicians for their services. [cite]

This will result in fewer participating physicians and the physicians continuing in the program seeing fewer Medicare patients.

Patients will wait longer and have fewer choices in seeing a doctor.

If this makes access to care sufficiently untenable, or if Medicare does not get on viable financial footing, it will be administered through ObamaCare[cite].

This would include cost controls by a 15-member board of bureaucrats deciding wich treatments, drugs, and surgeries patients can receive.

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), Chairman of the House Committee on the Budget, has a plan which saves Medicare with no disruption to today's seniors and reasonable changes for future retirees.

The Ryan Plan is widely misunderstood and misrepresented. The future of our seniors' healthcare is too important to be decided on misinformation. Here are the facts about Medicare and the Ryan Plan.

The Ryan Plan in a Nutshell

Those currently retired and those close to retirement (55 and over) will see no change from the existing Medicare system. Existing physician reimbursement flaws will be corrected to encourage physicians to continue participating in the system.[cite]

On retirement, those currently under 55 will be provided vouchers from the government to help pay for health insurance. Voucher amounts will be based in part on income, with wealthier individuals receiving less assistance. Risk pools [cite] will be created to ensure that insurance companies will provide coverage to seniors, despite their generally higher use of medical care.

The result is retirees will have a system that gives them options, similar to that which members of Congress use and which will include options similar to Medicare Advantage, the popular plan eliminated by Obamacare. [cite]

The Ryan Plan Incorporates These Important Points

It is important that we

Plan now for changes, to avoid chaos later

The medicare system is running out of money. Change is coming, one way or another.

Pretending we can continue as we are is not an option, it is a recipe for disaster. The longer we wait to make changes, the greater the disruption to current and future retires, the more abruptly the changes will have to be implemented, and the fewer options we will have.

By implementing the Ryan Plan now, we will

  • maintain the existing system for current retirees and for individuals 55 and over
  • provide a sustainable, quality system for future retirees.

It is important that we...

Preserve the existing system, unchanged, for current retirees and workers 55 and older

This bears repeating:

  • Under the Ryan Plan, if you are retired, your Medicare coverage will not change.
  • If you are over 55, Medicare as it exists today will be there for you when you retire.
  • And the Ryan Plan provides for quality health insurance coverage upon retirement for those currently under 55.

It is important that we...

Maintain availability of insurance coverage for future retirees

Since individuals generally require more medical care as they age, it tends to be difficult for older individuals to find private health insurance that will cover them. That is one reason our existing Medicare system is considered so important for many. The Ryan Plan creates risk pools which encourage multiple insurance companies to offer health coverage to those of retirement age.

It is important that we...

Maintain affordability

Individuals have paid into the Medicare system with the promise that coverage will be there for them when they retire. Unfortunately, we are facing an economic crisis in this country and Medicare is a significant part of the problem. To save the system for everyone and to avert broader economic calamity, in the future wealthier Americans will have to bear a greater portion of their healthcare burden.

It is important that we...

Make it feasible for doctors to participate in Medicare

Currently in many areas of the country physicans are reimbursed for Medicare patients at a rate that does not cover their expenses. Recent changes put forth by the Democrats further reduce reimbursement. [cite] This is not sustainable for any business and as a result increasing numbers of physicians are discontinuing their participation in the Medcare program. Patients are finding that their physician is no longer a Medicare provider and when they look for another physician it is increasingly difficult for them to find a Medicare provider who is accepting new patients and can see them in a reasonable time. [cite]. The Ryan plan fixes the reimbursement problem, making it feasible for physicians to continue participating in Medicare.

It is important that we...

Keep medical decisions between patients and doctors, not remote government panels

The Ryan plan harnesses the free market and puts choice in the hands of the patient. Retirees will be able to pick the insurance plan that best meets their needs, applying government vouchers toward premium costs. Medical decisions would be made in consultation with their personal physician, based on the individual's situation and preferences.
