Founding Fathers

Quote of the Day

"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs. "

Occupy Wall Street come to

State & Main Street in Doylestown?
Occupy Doylestown

The protesters demanding "jobs and not cuts" have decided to have a demonstration in Borough of Doylestown, PA at State and Main streets starting at 4 PM on Thursday

(We'll bet they get a Starbucks latte first, also on the same corner along with a dozen other small independently owned businesses).

See the story in the Doylestown Patch here.

Who are they protesting in this charming, artsy enclave? The art-deco movie theater? The ice cream shop? The book store? The other coffee shop? Perhaps it is the comic book shop or the record store?

For crying out loud, the organizer is running for Borough Council unopposed. This is just silly. And sad. We should not let this go unopposed.

Meet us on the corner opposite the Starbucks corner dressed professionally, but caring signs like "Why are Profits EVIL but Federal grants GOOD" or "1 Million Citizens for Capitalism" or "If you hate capitalists, Throw away your Mac, IPod, IPad and Droid" or "Equal Opportunity is not a guarantee Equal Results" or "Happiness can be pursued - not Imposed"

Where: Starbucks Parking Lot

Address: State and Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901

When: Thursday, October 13
Time: 4:00pm - 5:00pm

The Kitchen Table Patriots attended Governor Corbett's press conference today on Education reform and issued the following Press release:

The Kitchen Table Patriots Support Governor Corbett's School Reform Initiative

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Tuesday, October 11, 2011

Doylestown, PA

Contact: TheKitchenTablePatriots@Gmail.com

The Kitchen Table Patriots, a Pennsylvania grassroots activist organization based in Doylestown have been championing the cause of expanding choice in public education since January of 2011. The Kitchen Table Patriots were delighted with the remarks that were made by Governor Corbett at today's press conference at Lincoln Charter School in York, Pennsylvania. We were also especially encouraged that the governor was joined by members of the State Senate and State House of Representatives including House Education Committee Chairman Paul Clymer (R-Bucks) who were present to demonstrate in person, their support for his Education Reform initiative.

When asked by a reporter about holding schools accountable when they accept student vouchers, the governor answered that the most powerful form of accountability will be that the parents will have the ability to select a different school - an option that is not available in the only-one-school monopolistic system that now exists. Anastasia Przbylski, Co-Chair of the KTP said "Vouchers, even on a limited scale, will begin the process of introducing free-market pressures on institutions that only have altruistic motivations for reform. They have proven themselves to be far less philanthropic in their accomplishments. People are motivated by their self interest. We believe that by challenging them economically to perform better, Pennsylvania taxpayers, public schools, parents and especially the children will all be rewarded with citizens who are not only well educated, but are confident and productive contributors to all residents of the commonwealth."

Ana Puig, Anastasia's partner and co-chair of The Kitchen Table Patriots said "This is the essence of school reform - empowering the parents and the children to select to school where they will get the best education. Parents are now subject to the definition of excellence that is permitted by only the teacher and principal that they have been assigned to."

Although they would prefer a reform package that includes universal vouchers, The Kitchen Table Patriots have spent a significant amount of time speaking directly to legislators and they understand that most are unwilling to rearrange the entire education economy at one time. "What is needed is to prove to them that these reform efforts accomplish the goals that money and time have not" said Puig, "We are willing to take small changes that prove the concept. Then the arguments against it will be proven false and they will be champions for Pennsylvania's children".

We look forward to seeing you at this great event.

Yours in Liberty,
The Kitchen Table Patriots

Action Alert

Obama's Jobs Bill Ends State Sovereignty

- Wake Up Governors!!

Section 376 of Obama's tax and spend "jobs" bill ends state sovereignty, turns our Republic into a dictatorship and destroys the foundation upon which our country was built.

The fundamental transformation of America is almost complete.

Read the bill. (Emphasis added)

"SEC. 376. FEDERAL AND STATE IMMUNITY.

(a) Abrogation of State Immunity- AStateshall not be immune under the 11th Amendment to the Constitution from a suit brought in a Federal court of competent jurisdiction for a violation of this Act.

(b) Waiver of State Immunity-

(1) IN GENERAL-

(A) WAIVER- A State's receipt or use of Federal financial assistance for any program or activity of a State shall constitute a waiver of sovereign immunity, under the 11th Amendment to the Constitution or otherwise, to a suit brought by an employee or applicant for employment of that program or activity under this Act for a remedy authorized under Section 375(c) of this Act.

(B) DEFINITION- In this paragraph, the term `program or activity' has the meaning given the term in section 606 of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 U.S.C. 2000d-4a)."

Here is the link to 42 USC 2000d-4a which defines "program or activity":

"For the purposes of this subchapter, the term "program or activity" and the term "program" mean all of the operations of-

(1)
(A) a department, agency, special purpose district, or other instrumentality of a State or of a local government; or

(B) the entity of such State or local government that distributes such assistance and each such department or agency (and each other State or local government entity) to which the assistance is extended, in the case of assistance to a State or local government;"

Also...

"any part of which is extended Federal financial assistance."

The above is stated as an extension of the actual citation of the general section itself.

More from Section 376 (emphasis added):

"(2) EFFECTIVE DATE- With respect to a particular program or activity, paragraph (1) applies to conduct occurring on or after the day, after the date of enactment of this Act, on which a State first receives or uses Federal financial assistance for that program or activity."

Wake up Governors!! Wake up America!! Tell Congress about Section 376 and why they must not pass this bill.

Obama's tax and spend "jobs" bill is a stealth move to end state sovereignty and transform what made our nation the greatest country the world has ever known.

If Obama's bill passes, kiss freedom goodbye

 and say hello to tyranny.

Welcome to Washington's Headquarters at the Moland House

1641 Old York Road, Hartsville, PA  18974

In the early evening of 10 August 1777, eleven thousand Continental and militia soldiers are marching up York Road towards the Cross Roads with Bristol Road [Hartsville, PA] on their way to Coryell's Ferry [New Hope, PA] to camp four miles across the Delaware RiverGeneral George Washington receives a dispatch from John Hancock, President of the Second Continental Congress, placing the 260-vessel British fleet, hauling 17,000 troops under General William Howe, fifty miles south of the Delaware Capes [May & Henelopen] on 7 August. Unsure and wary of Howe's intentions, Washington immediately halts his force to encamp around the bridge over the Little Neshaminy Creek in Warwick Township, Bucks County.  Knowing the area and having ridden through only ten days earlier, he selects the substantial stone dwelling of Widow Moland as his Head Quarters on the farm north of the bridge.

THE BIG PICTURE ON PROPERTY TAX REFORM AND THE COST OF EDUCATING OUR CHILDREN!!

Our round table of three outstanding speakers: Nathan Benfield, David Baldinger and Dr. Richard Brake

THE COST OF EDUCATION GOES UP, UP, UP AND OUR PROPERTY TAXES KEEP GOING UP, UP, UP!  WHAT CAN BE DONE TO CHANGE THIS?

No discussion on property tax reform is complete without talking about what it is costing to educate our children and whether or not they are getting the education they deserve, according to Nathan Benfield, Director of Policy Analysis for the Commonwealth Foundation.  Nate has researched and written on public policy issues including taxation, government spending, education reform and transportation funding. He has frequently provided testimony to Pennsylvania House and Senate committees on various issues including education.

David Baldinger a full-time volunteer for the Pennsylvania Coalition of Taxpayer Associations (PCTA) will be with us to explain the School Property Tax Elimination Plan that permanently eliminates all school district property taxes as well as eliminating local school district earned income taxes (EIT). PCTA says Statewide, current school district budgets increase, on average, at twice the rate of inflation! And, "no tax should have the power to leave you homeless". David started this work in 2004 and since has become one of PA's leading experts on the subject.

Dr. Richard Brake is the Director of Educational Programs at the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI), a non-profit educational foundation with a mission to "Educate for Liberty"- by inspiring college students to discover and embrace principles that make America prosperous, moral, and free. Dr. Brake lives in Berwyn with his family and is currently an elective member of the TE school board. Dr. Brake has documented the failure of America's top universities to teach students the founding history, texts, and institutions of our constitutional republic. His commentary on this disturbing trend has appeared in media outlets nationwide.

Thomas Jefferson: "Whensoever the general government assumes undelegated powers....a nullification of the act is the rightful remedy."

But what IS nullification? How does it happen and work? Since September 2010, the Tenth Amendment Center has been hosting a national tour to educate and activate people on this topic. People are learning the constitutional basis, when it's been used in history, and how it is happening around the country and how YOU can stop DC right in your own state.

Judical Watch is Demanding Answers  Earlier this month, Judicial Watch, a government/judicial watchdog group based out of Washington, DC, hosted a Voter Fraud panel discussion featuring John Fund, Christian Adams, and King Street/True the Vote leader Catherine Engelbrecht. Here's video from a portion of the event:

"The Voter Fraud Threat to Free and Fair Elections" - Part 2

But wait, there's more! The really exciting thing Judicial Watch is doing happened just last week when they filed a FOIA lawsuit against the DOJ to obtain records of communications between the Department of Justice and Project Vote Official/former ACORN attorney Estelle Rogers. You can read more about it here. Bottom line..."Judicial Watch is convinced that Project Vote's activities remain a threat to the integrity of our elections. The fact that Project Vote is bullying states to attack election security reforms in order to register Obama's 'Food Stamp Army' comes as no surprise. But it appears that the Obama Justice Department is using the same playbook as Project Vote - to the detriment of clean elections. The American people deserve to know if the nation's highest law enforcement agency has become nothing more than a political tool to help this scandalous ACORN-front group re-elect Barack Obama. Again, this Justice Department can't seem to be bothered to comply with basic open records FOIA law," stated Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

Be assured, we will be closely watching for any new developments in this case....but in the meantime, if you haven't already volunteered to help uphold free and fair elections by working at the polls WE NEED YOU! There is a critical shortage of polling place workers. We wonder why Project Vote and ACORN get away with their flagrant abuses of our system...it's because we as citizens are allowing it to happen. WE MUST ENGAGE IN THE PROCESS OF OUR ELECTIONS. One way you can engage is by volunteering to work as a poll watcher on Election Day. Please, it is going to take all of us to uphold the integrity of our elections in the days ahead. Get involved now.

True the Vote

We need TTV volunteers for poll watching - Free and fair elections do not happen without citizen involvement. Want to stand up and take action?   True the Vote will provide training and support - you just need to take the first step.  For more information email  info@truethevote.org or go  HERE  to sign up now!

TRUE THE VOTE FAQs

I would like to True the Vote in my area, how do I get started?

Please go to www.truethevote.org and register as a volunteer. If there is already a True the Vote Program Leader in your area, we will put you in touch with them.  If there is not a Program Leader in your area, we will work with you and your organization to get one started.

Will there be chapters of True the Vote?

No.  Our goal is to work with organizations that want to use the True the Vote program as the framework for their own election integrity initiative.

How should I represent True the Vote?

You will not be a representative of True the Vote.  You will represent your own organization's initiative.

How do I get trained on the True the Vote Program?

We will offer five training courses:

 1.  Teambuilding

 2.  Data Collection and Research

 3.  Poll Worker / Poll Watcher Training

 4.  Logistics and Mobilization

 5.  Legislation and Advocacy

Agenda 21 In One Easy Lesson

Awareness of Agenda 21 and Sustainable Development is racing across the nation as citizens in community after community are learning what their city planners are actually up to. As awareness grows, I am receiving more and more calls for tools to help activists fight back. Many complain that elected officials just won't read detailed reports or watch long videos. "Can you give us something that is quick, and easy to read that we can hand out," I'm asked.

So here it is. A one page, quick description of Agenda 21 that fits on one page. I've also included for the back side of your hand out a list of quotes for the perpetrators of Agenda 21 that should back up my brief descriptions.

A word of caution, use this as a starter kit, but do not allow it to be your only knowledge of this very complex subject. To kill it you have to know the facts. Research, know your details; discover the NGO players in your community; identify who is victimized by the policies and recruit them to your fight; and then kill Agenda 21. That's how it must be done. The information below is only your first step. Happy hunting.

What is Sustainable Development?

Pre-Order Atlas Shrugged Now!

Earlier this year, I urged you to go to theaters to see Atlas Shrugged: Part One and share its message of limited government, free markets and individual liberty with family, friends and neighbors. Based on Ayn Rand's classic novel written in 1957, Atlas Shrugged: Part One was immediately celebrated as a "made for Tea Party film."

The film is now finally set for its much-anticipated release on DVD. As a FreedomWorks member, you can pre-order a limited edition version of Atlas Shrugged: Part One featuring special bonus features from FreedomWorks. Pre-order It Now!

Atlas Shrugged: Part One is set in a not-so-distant future in which government has taken control of businesses, bureaucrats have impose burdensome regulations on the economy and entrepreneurs are rapidly disappearing from society. Their disappearances are all linked to a man named John Galt, a mysterious figure who leaves this desperate world wondering: "Who is John Galt?"

I know many of our members were disappointed that Atlas Shrugged: Part One, a film that had been attempted and scrapped numerous times since the novel debuted over 50 years ago, didn't play in a theater in their area. The release of this limited edition FreedomWorks version of Atlas Shrugged: Part One DVD is a great opportunity to own a part of film history. Get It Now.

As I've said before, Atlas Shrugged: Part One has the opportunity to introduce millions more around the world to the philosophy of freedom. This DVD is a great gift for family and friends who care about the principles of limited government, free markets and individual liberty. Give A Gift.

While activists have many reasons for getting involved in this grassroots movement-TARP, the stimulus, ObamaCare-I know that for me I wasn't initially motivated by a piece of legislation or a midterm election. My conversion happened many years ago when I picked up a dog-eared copy of the 1,000 page tome we know as Ayn Rand's masterpiece, Atlas Shrugged.

That's the power of this book and this film. Pre-order It Now.

In Liberty,

Matt Kibbe
President and CEO, FreedomWorks

RedState Morning Briefing

For October 12, 2011

1. Majority opposes second term for President Obama

A new IBD/TIPP survey finds 51% of Americans now oppose giving President Obama a second term.

The poll was conducted from October 1-5, and has a margin error of +/- 3.3 percent.

The IBD/TIPP poll reinforces the findings of the recent ABC News/Washington Post poll that found that 55% expect Obama to lose reelection.

Using Obama's own metrics, even Obama says his presidency will be "a one-term proposition." That is something Obama and I can agree on.

Please click here for the rest of the post.

2. Occupy Boston hosts rally in support of accused terrorist

Occupy Boston, the Boston branch of the Occupy Party, hosted a rally yesterday supporting accused terrorist Terak Mehanna.

The U.S. government says Mehanna, 28, provided "material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization," and acted as a "media wing" for al-Qaeda.

It's one thing not to know what you are protesting as some Wall Street occupiers told Reason TV and the organizer of the Sacramento "demonstration" put on by the Sacramento branch of the Occupy Party told CBS13 reporter Tony Lopez. It is something else all together to rally in support someone accused of providing material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization.

3. Koch, the Democrats, the Hippies, and Hypocrisy

The Democrats, rallying to the hippies occupying various streets around the country, have seized on a Bloomberg News story about Koch Industries doing business in Iran.

The Democrats want every Republican who has ever taken money from the Kochs to give that money back.

Except there are a few problems. Such as, other than it being a political hit against some right-of-center billionaires, the story doesn't seem to have proven or uncovered much of anything.

Koch Industries did not directly do business in Iran. A subsidiary did business in Iran. It was legal at the time to do so. When Koch found out about it, however, it shut it down. No laws were broken in the process of putting people to work.

But wait . . . there's more.

4. Rhode Island and Voter ID

Today, the New York Times has an editorial attacking so-called voter ID bills. According to Democratic and New York Times (but I repeat myself) mythmaking, voter ID is a racist Republican scheme to stop minorities and Democrats from voting.

5. Greed & Hippies Properly Understood

About the only thing these hippies, hipsters, senior citizens who never grew up, and college trust funders out protesting can agree on is that greed is bad. They want the whole capitalist system pulled up by the root and replaced with something else because of greed.

What they either do not understand or choose to ignore is that greed is not a capitalist invention. Greed exists because people do. Greed exists in capitalist societies, socialist societies, and communist societies.

All men are created equal and all men are born into this world as sinners. One of those sins is greed.

The few people who claim to be without greed are typically greedy for the praise of others or full of pride at not being greedy. Pride is a far worse sin than greed because pride is the root of most every sin.

But of all the varieties of greed out there, what the hippies do not seem to understand is that greed in a capitalist society is far less pernicious than the greed in the systems they advocate, be it socialist or communist.

6. The Bloomberg-Washington Post Debate

The Bloomberg-Washington Post debate was necessary in the same way a child dying or a puppy being run over are necessary in the chaotic misery of the orbit around the center of the galaxy we slowly endure. All remind us that life isn't fair, there are terrible tragedies, and sometimes bad things happen to us.

But we have endured. And if you haven't thrown up on your television due to the unsteady camera or the tediously horrible questions, you will be no worse for the wear tomorrow.

MItt Romney won the debate. No one knocked him off his game. He really is that good of a debater.

7. Time to Reconsider the Conversations With Candidates

In light of that tragedy of a debate last night, I want to reiterate this. We're open to all of the candidates who participated last night doing this: Bachmann, Cain, Gingrich, Huntsman, Paul, Perry, Romney, and Santorum.

You'll get a better shot at answering better questions in a one on one format.

8. In Support of the #OWS Protests

I'm going to diverge a bit from our RedState Echo Chamber® and come out in support of the Occupy Wall Street protests. I'm struggling to find a downside to this bit of theater for conservatives or the GOP. I don't really see an upside to it for the Administration and the Democrats.

Personally, I can't think of anything more amusing than several heavily blue cities being overrun by unwashed hipster trash protesting the excesses... or existence... of the industry group that has given Obama truckloads of money. If heads are broken, it will be under the direction of Democrat mayors. If people are inconvenienced they are by and large Democrat voters.

9. Green Border Security is as Effective as Green Energy

Energy productivity isn't the only thing that is hampered by laws governing so-called endangered species. For decades, the Departments of Interior and Agriculture have encumbered border security operations with layers of environmental restrictions and regulations. Additionally, the US Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) has been forced to pay millions in taxpayer dollars, known as mitigation funds, to offset the "environmental effects" of their roads, fences, and surveillance towers in or near national parks and other federally owned lands. Now, Rep. Rob Bishop is seeking to exempt the border patrol agents from these laws, so they can focus on their real job - protecting the border.

10. Chris Christie is Intellectually Dishonest

Earlier today, Chris Christie endorsed Mitt Romney for president, describing him as "a real hero in Republican circles." During his announcement, he disparaged conservatives who oppose Romneycare, by suggesting that any attempt to compare it to Obamacare is "completely intellectually dishonest." Governor Christie might want to look in the mirror or step down as a prominent spokesman for the Republican Party.

Any attempt to suggest that the two healthcare plans are fundamentally different is completely intellectually dishonest.

From Howard:

It is so very disturbing that the "Arab Spring" may result in the Muslim Brotherhood gaining control in Egypt...and So Israel had to give up 1000 terrorists, some of whom will cause further terror and Israeli casualties, in order to gain Shalit's return BEFORE Egypt turns even further AGAINST ISRAEL due to the "Arab Winter"....

Analysis: Schalit and the Arab Spring
By YAAKOV KATZ  11/10/2011
The Arab Spring is behind Israel's change of heart on the Gilad Schalit deal, which has not changed dramatically since 2006.

The deal to release Gilad Schalit is without a doubt controversial. The main change, though, took place on the Israeli side, which in recent months changed its position on the deal that has retained mostly the same format since Hamas kidnapped Schalit in June, 2006.

The big question is what brought about this change.

RELATED:
Comment: A cause for celebration
PM: Schalit will be on his way home in the coming days

The main answer is the so-called Arab Spring.  Israel is concerned that the Arab regimes now in power will not be here tomorrow and that the Egyptian regime currently in power - the deal's main mediator - will not be there in a few months after elections are held in Cairo.

Israel is genuinely concerned about the outcome of elections in Egypt, expected to be held sometime next year. Predictions are that the elections will see the rise of a more anti-Israel regime to power, particularly if the Muslim Brotherhood wins a significant percentage of the seats in parliament.

These changes were also internalized by Hamas, which understood that fallout between Israel and Egypt would also impact its ability to reach a deal with Israel. This led Hamas to take a more pragmatic approach, moving it to change its own position on some of the names on the list of terrorists set to be released.

2 Charged in Alleged Plot to Kill Saudi Ambassador to US

Tuesday, 11 Oct 2011

The Obama administration on Tuesday accused agents of the Iranian government of being involved in a plan to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to the United States. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said the thwarted plot would further isolate Tehran.

Two people, including a member of Iran's special operations unit known as the Quds Force, were charged in New York federal court. Justice Department officials say they were working with a person they thought was an associate of a Mexican drug cartel to target the Saudi diplomat, Adel Al-Jubeir. But their contact was an informant for the Drug Enforcement Agency who told U.S. authorities about all their planning.

"This is dangerous new territory for Iran," said Mike Rogers, chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. "It is the latest in a series of aggressive actions - from their nuclear program to state sponsorship of terrorism, from complicity in killing our soldiers in Iraq to now plotting hostile acts on U.S. soil. This episode underscores the need for concerted international unity to confront Iran."

Director Robert Mueller said many lives could have been lost in the plot to kill the ambassador with bombs in the U.S. But Preet Bharara, the U.S. attorney in Manhattan, said no explosives were actually placed and no one was in any danger because of the informant's cooperation with authorities.

Caroline Glick says it better than any of us can...and it complements the report we just spoke about concerning Holy Sites that are claimed by Islamists in Israel with the support of UNESCO..It is amazing how the facts she portrays in her column are probably completely unknown to 99 44/100 % of the U.S. population...There is continuing persecution of Christians throughout the Middle East, and I suspect it is not only ignored by our Media, but essentially how much effort is put into preventing it and publicizing it by our own State Dept ?.......There should be an uproar about Pakistan and Lebanon and Syria...and recognition of what occurred in Turkey throughout the past Century.....If not for the blatant continuing  attacks on Coptic Christians in Egypt, it would continue to be ignored.....Anyone wish to call Anderson Cooper and see if he has put on his overcoat to protect himself from the ongoing ARAB WINTER .....CNN should be openly criticized for their  glorification of the move toward "FREEDOM" and "Social Justice" in Egypt, with no equivalent follow up thereafter.....Mr. Cooper should be in Tahrir Square tomorrow to investigate the massacre there and review its ramifications.......it is as important as the original reporting, especially since it is now being noted that approx. 100,000 Coptic Christians have fled Egypt since Mr. Cooper's "Spring Vacation" began in January- February.......and, perhaps, to put it all in perspective, CNN can review what has happened to the  Christian populations in other Arab countries

Our World: The forgotten Christians of the East
By CAROLINE B. GLICK  10/10/2011
It is unclear what either Western governments or Western churches think they are achieving by turning a blind eye to the persecution of Christians in the Muslim world.

On Sunday night, Egyptian Copts staged what was supposed to be a peaceful vigil at Egypt's state television headquarters in Cairo. The 1,000 Christians represented the ancient Christian community of some 8 million whose presence in Egypt predates the establishment of Islam by several centuries. They gathered in Cairo to protest the recent burning of two churches by Islamic mobs and the rapid escalation of state-supported violent attacks on Christians by Muslim groups since the overthrow of former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak in February.

According to Coptic sources, the protesters Sunday night were beset by Islamic attackers who were rapidly backed up by military forces. Between 19 and 40 Copts were killed by soldiers and Muslim attackers. They were run over by military vehicles, beaten, shot and dragged through the streets of Cairo.

State television Sunday night reported only that three soldiers had been killed. According to al-Ahram Online, the military attacked the studios of al-Hurra television on Sunday night to block its broadcast of information on the military assault on the Copts.

Dear ITAI Members:

ITAI has been asked by the Egyptian-American Coptic community to help in devising a strategy to protect the defenseless Copts in Egypt.  Coptic churches have been torched, and individual Christians are being kidnapped and killed. Violent Islamist (Muslim Brotherhood led) mobs that are encouraged by the military clique in Egypt, are attacking helpless Christians throughout Egypt.

ITAI's longstanding relationship with the American-(Egyptian) Coptic community requires us to lend a helping hand to the persecuted Christians of Egypt.

Sincerely,

Shortly after 9/11, many thought it was imperative to teach about and promote the heroes of that deadly day. One such hero whose life and example we can never learn enough about was Rick Rescorla. Originally from England, he came to America and distinguished himself as an Army infantry officer in Vietnam. Later he became head of security at Morgan Stanley, and, after the World Trade Center bombing in 1993, he knew the terrorists would go after the Twin Towers again. He warned the authorities continually; moreover, he led regular evacuation drills between 1993 and 2001. On 9/11, he successfully led almost every Morgan Stanley employee out to safety. He himself did not make it. His last known words were, "As soon as I make sure everyone else is out." He said those words to another Morgan Stanley employee who had yelled to him that he had to get out too. Rick Rescorla's remains were never found.

Rick's life was not wasted; he saved a lot of people. But if the government had listened to him before 9/11, he would have saved even more. Rick was somebody who should have been posted at the top of our intelligence community, but he wasn't. Today, we are still not listening to the most creative and prophetic thinkers among us. One of them is Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, founder of the American Islamic Forum on Democracy. He is the intellectual Rick Rescorla of our day.

Romney gives great foreign policy address

Romney's Citadel Address Hammers Obama on Foreign Policy
SPEECH VIDEO -don't miss it. 23 min.

By Amiel Ungar, INN

The Citadel is located in South Carolina, a key early primary state where Romney was given no chance. Now, with Rick Perry's campaign in the doldrums, Romney is making forays into the state. If he can score in a rock-ribbed conservative state, the game may be over quickly.

Another sign of Romney's growing confidence is that he departed from his signature issue of economic competence to concentrate on foreign policy in his speech.

Romney promised his audience that as president he would restore the United States to its position as undisputed world leader by rebuilding the sources of American strength: "a strong economy, a strong defense, and the enduring strength of our values."

Obama, argued Romney had permitted all three of these sources to atrophy.

Despite America's weakened economic position, America under Romney would not...

Better ally than honest broker

Ettinger is wrong to say, "On the other hand, U.S. administrations have played the role of an honest broker between Israel and its Arab enemies. They usually follow the lead of the U.N. and Europe-oriented State Department bureaucracy". I don't believe they have ever been an honest broker in bringing about an agreement. Secondly, it doesn't the lead of others but pursues its own agenda which is to force Israel to give up its gains from the '67 War. The EU is pursuing its own agenda which leads it some where between the agenda's of the State Department's and the Arab League. Ted Belman

Paying the Obama price

Op-ed: Egypt's disintegration highlights president's Mideast ignorance, policy failure

Yigal Walt, YNET

The deadly clashes between Egypt's Copt minority and security forces further stress what should have been clear for a while now: America's insistence on President Hosni Mubarak's ouster helped create a catastrophe, with Israel's southern neighbor increasingly descending into the throes of chaos.

While tensions between Copts and Muslims have persisted for some time, such bloody clashes mark a new low in interethnic relations within Egypt. The violence followed growing attacks against Egypt's Christian Copt minority in the wake of Mubarak's dismissal. Needless to say, this would not be happening had the longtime president remained in power.

Riots over church attack in Egypt kill 23

By MAGGIE MICHAEL - Associated Press

CAIRO (AP) - Massive clashes that drew in Christians angry over a recent church attack, Muslims, and Egyptian security forces raged over a large section of downtown Cairo Sunday night, leaving at least 19 people dead and more than 150 injured, Health Ministry officials said. It was the worst violence since the 18-day uprising that ousted Hosni Mubarak in February.

The ongoing clashes lasted late into the night, bringing out a deployment of more than 1,000 security forces and armored vehicles to defend the state television building along the Nile, where the trouble began. The clashes spread to nearby Tahrir Square and the area around it, drawing in thousands of people. They battled each other with rocks and firebombs, some tearing up pavement for ammunition and others collecting stones in boxes.

At one point, a group of youths with at least one riot policeman among them dragged a protester by his legs for a long distance. Witnesses...

Universities to Teach Journalists Even More Islamic Favoritism

by Robert Spencer 09/20/2011

The International Islamic News Agency (IINA) reported Sunday that "in a bid to run correct news reporting about Muslims, two American universities have launched a project to teach journalists how to tackle Islam-related issues. ... Titled 'Covering Islam in America,' the project was co-launched earlier this week by Washington State University and the Poynter Institute's News University."

The course, we're told, "is designed to prepare reporters to run accurate information when reporting about Muslims and Islam-related issues." Developed by Lawrence Pintak, a former CBS News Middle East correspondent, the course "covers a wide range of topics on Islam ranging from the Islamic teachings and the history of Muslim immigration to the role of women in Islam and the relationship between Islam and Christianity."

We certainly could use some accurate information about Islam. The mainstream media is universally fawning and obsequious when it comes to reporting about the global jihad and Islamic supremacism. Journalists consistently downplay or ignore altogether the invocations of the Koran and Muhammad's example that Islamic jihadists make on a routine basis, and continually assume that any Muslim who is not actively engaged in terror activity is a "moderate"-as the jihadist Imam Anwar al-Awlaki was dubbed in a glowing portrayal in the New York Times shortly after 9/11.

But that is not the kind of accurate information that this course is preparing journalists to supply.

Jihad For Journalists

Bias: An elite media school is training reporters to downplay Islamic violence, arguing more people die from AIDS. Yeah, nothing to see there at Ground Zero. Move along.

'Jihad is not a leading cause of death in the world," the Poynter Institute cautions journalists in its online course, "Covering Islam in America." So journos should cover it "in a way that does not amplify fears."

Better to cover malaria and traffic accidents, it says; they've killed far more people than the school's estimate of 165,000 victims of jihad over the past few decades. It notes the biggest Islamic terror toll in the U.S. was the nearly 3,000 killed on 9/11.

"To give those numbers some context, the FBI reports that approximately 15,000 people in the U.S. are murdered each year," Poynter's 30-page media guide says.

Must we spell it out for Poynter profs? Jihadi murder isn't run-of-the-mill murder. It's mass murder done in the name of religion. That makes it uniquely horrifying - and far more newsworthy. It also targets governments and destroys properties - even whole economies.

In another blunder, the course redefines jihad as "struggle" against sin rather than the holy war it's overwhelmingly practiced as.

"We created 'Covering Islam in America' as a tool for journalists who want to be accurate in educating their audience about the religion and culture of Islam," Poynter says on its website. Yet it's Poynter that's misleading the public - and doing so, we might add, in a time of war.

Morning Bell: Who Is Responsible for Protecting America?

On October 25, 1983, the first of 7,000 U.S. troops landed on the shore of Grenada under the command of President Ronald Reagan. The goal of the mission? Put down a violent coup that threatened to put the country in the Communist bloc and give the Soviet Union another foothold in America's backyard.

Just as President Reagan acted decisively to protect American interests in 1983, so too must America today be prepared to respond to the threats of terrorist forces in the wake of September 11, 2001. But who bears the responsibility for ensuring America's security? The President? Congress? Today at The Heritage Foundation, former U.S. Attorneys General Edwin Meese III, John D. Ashcroft, and Michael B. Mukasey will discuss that question and their views on the Constitution as it pertains to presidential power and the role of Congress and the Supreme Court during war time. (Click here to watch the event live online from 12 to 1 PM ET.)

Following September 11, questions of the proper balance between Congress and the President-as well as the role of the courts-came to the fore. Issues including the capture and treatment of detainees, interrogation techniques, surveillance, the Geneva Conventions, wiretapping, Guantanamo, or the role of the courts during war time all became subjects of intense debate-and the 2008 presidential election.

Fellow patriots,

Please forward this email to everyone you can.  The survival of American freedom depends on people understanding its message.

I'm sending you these videos to give you a clear sense of what the Islamists have in mind for the world.  Brace yourself when you view the first one below; it's very disturbing, because it claims that a domino effect is causing the secular nations of the Islamic world fall to Islamic revolutions, and the Western nations are next.  What's more disturbing is that it views the cataclysmic events portrayed as a GOOD thing.   This is what the Islamist who uploaded the video wrote in its caption: FREEDOM FOR EGYPT!!! FREEDOM FOR TUNISIA!!! FREEDOM FOR THE MIDDLE EAST!!! FREEDOM FOR THE WORLD!!!  REVOLUTION 2011 DO YOUR PART - POST VIDEOS! MARCH! SPEAK TRUTH! PRAY! DO SOMETHING! WORLDWIDE REVOLUTION 2011!!!.

To speed your way through this video in less than 3 minutes, go straight to the following segments: 0:20 - 1:30, 2:09 - 2:30, 3:46 - 4:08, 5:22 - 5:49, 9:55 - 10:00:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOo71jqqOjg&feature=related

(For those not familiar with Islamic theology, the Dajjal is the Islamic Anti-Christ, the Mahdi is the savior who fights the Dajjal (who either joins Jesus or IS Jesus, depending on which Islamic sect you belong to)

Next comes a Lecture on Islam as a political system that was given at the Hizb-Ut-Tahrir America 2011 Conference.  While you may want to view these videos for yourself, you can save yourself a lot of time by skipping down to my summary:

Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iT46THVyNDs&feature=related

Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=09Qqv5b_QXA

Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=tjdECMyl-ss

Part 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=9dR87XPrc9E

SUMMARY: One of the things this lecture makes clear is that Islamists seek to discredit both democracy and the free enterprise system, replacing democracy with the Caliphate and the free enterprise system with Shariah-based economics.

The basic idea behind the Islamist criticism of Democracy/Free Enterprise is that:

  • Economics is controlled by human-made laws and human regulators.  Because laws and regulations come from imperfect humans, they always have long-term effects that can't be anticipated and therefore lead to errors that boomerang back onto people with devastating consequences.  This is true even without considering the corrosive effects of corruption and personal agendas.
  • Shariah provides Allah's laws over all aspects of life, including economic behavior.  Given that Allah is all-knowing and has already predetermined the future, it is obvious that humans would ultimately be most prosperous and happy if they followed Shariah.

Another interesting aspect of the lecture is that it preaches a sort of Islamic "prosperity Gospel."  The difference between this Islamic prosperity Gospel and the Christian one is that, while the Christian prosperity Gospel focuses on achieving personal success by personally following the Bible, the Islamic one focuses on bringing all of society under Islamic law to achieve societal prosperity, from which the individual benefits.  In other words, the FIRST thing Muslims must do is impose Shariah on society.  Muslims today will continue to live in poverty until Shariah is the law of the land, at which point all people will reap the benefits of Allah's infinite wisdom (and then, when the Caliphate is installed and the promised benefits don't come, they will be told that their Shariah isn't Islamic ENOUGH).

I present these points to show that Islamists are not crazy, and they have a good sales pitch for those who aren't happy with their status in life.  If the Koran really is Allah's perfect and eternal word, and we could get Allah's perfect Shariah law from it, then the Islamist's points are undeniable and the only sensible thing we could do is convert to Islam and help bring about the Caliphate -- that is, an Islamic state that follows Shariah.

However, any reasonable person who reads the Koran and is not already fully committed to it quickly finds it full of contradictions, indulgent of Muhammad's lusts, and vicious to anyone who opposes Allah (and his prophet Muhammad).  It was clearly written by a smart guy who figured out how to use Allah as an omnipotent straw man to advance his own power and prestige while simultaneously destroying his enemies.  Holy?  Not so much.

The lecturer's claim that Shariah is the salvation of mankind also falls flat because there is no consensus among Muslims as to what Shariah actually is.  Every Islamic sect, from Sunnis to Shiites to Sufis to Khirijites to Ahmadis to Alawites etc. has its own version of Shariah and considers every other sect's Shariah to be heretical -- the kind of thing Muslims KILL over.  Finally, the clerics who lead various factions of Islam are in deadly competition with each other because the cleric who gets to define the laws of the land can effectively rule over the people (as in Iran) or control the rulers who do (as with the Saudis and the Wahhabis).  Hence each cleric wraps himself in the Koran and piously wars against his rivals.

The Islamist giving the lecture is certainly not going to mention his theory's weaknesses.  What he does instead is amplify every shortcoming he can see in the West while completely ignoring the problems of the Islamic world, claiming that the governments of Islamic nations aren't really Islamic, or not Islamic enough.  His argument reminds me of the Communists' excuse for Communism's failure in the late 1980s: "It's not that Communism has failed; it's that Communism has never really been tried."  This line of reasoning can only come from the mouth of someone who is incapable of questioning his or her basic assumptions.  If the horse ain't movin', just kick it harder!

Another propagandistic ploy the lecturer uses is to cast Western lawmakers as something that no Westerner would claim they are: gods who are worshipped.  This bizarre claim can only make sense from an Islamic perspective, where mosque and state are one, and people worship Allah by following Allah's laws.  From an Islamic perspective, we Westerners worship our legislators because we follow the laws they make.

The Islamists would rightly call us perverse if we actually did worship our legislators, but it is impossible for us to convince them that we don't because Islamists don't have the conceptual tools to separate secular law from religion.  Also, the Western concept of law as something that can and should change over time is anathema to an Islamist.  In fact, an Islamist would consider any change from Allah's perfect Shariah, as practiced by Muhammad, to be a perverse departure from Allah's will.  Therefore Islamists are profoundly stuck in the 7th century, and they want to bring the rest of the world back there with them.

The lecturer closes his talk by calling on his audience to cast away the false gods of democracy -- that is, elected officials -- and replace them with Allah, the only God worth worshipping, by converting the people to Islam and bringing Shariah to the land.

Clearly, any Western notion of "inclusiveness" or "multiculturalism" toward Islam is the West's own death warrant, because Muslims themselves believe that they are oppressed and cannot genuinely practice their religion and benefit from it until the entire land is ruled by Shariah.

Ohio bans pork for all prisoners after Muslim inmate sues to get halal food

Here yet again we see dhimmi authorities responding to Islamic supremacist demands by effectively imposing Sharia restrictions upon non-Muslims. An update on this story. "Ohio's response to Muslim lawsuit over prison meal preparation riles state pork industry," by Andrew Welsh-Huggins for the Associated Press, October 5 (thanks to Twostellas):

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A decision by Ohio officials to remove all pork products from prison menus in response to a lawsuit by Muslim inmates is not sitting well with the state's pork producers and processors.

Both promise action of their own, including a possible counter lawsuit, to address what they consider an unfair and illogical decision.

Bolton: Obama Calls For Restraint From Egyptian Christians As They're Being Killed

Spoken like a true Mohammedan -- considering the Copts are peaceniks.

Bolton: "This will come as news to the Coptic Christians that they're supposed to exercise restraint. They're being attacked, they're the ones being victimized both by mobs of fellow Egyptian citizens who are Muslims and by the government."

Bishop David will urge all Coptic Christians to join CopticWorld tonight in a live stream. Bishop David is the Bishop of the Archdiocese of America and is the Bishop who has been given responsibility over CopticWorld by Pope Shenouda III.

The Coptic Archdiocese has invested a large sum of money into CopticWorld and plans to further develop it and make it an official registry for all Copts around the world. It is now more important than ever to know how many we are and where we are in the world. The Coptic voice needs to be heard and CopticWorld offers a real potential for organizing all Copts around the world.

Iran Cheers Wall Street Protests As "American Spring"

The free world is without a leader. Obama is silly and dangerous, incapable or unwilling to take a brave, principled stance in defense of freedom and our allies. The forces of evil smell blood, and they are going in for the kill. A world without America's forceful presence is descending into chaos and havoc.

The sheer brutality of the mullahcracy's crackdown on the Iranian people who in 2009 were marching for freedom, for the principle of one man, one vote, was impossible for us in the West to fathom. We heard the horror stories. We saw unarmed people meeting bullets with sheer will.

But the Iranians could not win. Barack Obama made sure of that. Full Atlas coverage here.

We watched the President of the United States essentially sanction the crushing suppression of people who were yearning to be free by ignoring their plight. We witnessed the President of the United States look the other way while Iranian thugs committed acts of mass rape, torture and public hangings of innocent people. All that and more was done by an Islamic regime that President Obama demands that we respect.

 Campaign for Working Families

Tuesday, October 11, 2011

To: Friends & Supporters

From: Gary L. Bauer

BREAKING NEWS: The FBI and DEA broke up a major terrorist plot with direct connections to Iran. According to news sources, the plot involved the assassination of the Saudi ambassador to the U.S., and bombings of the Saudi and Israeli embassies in Washington, D.C. We will report additional details tomorrow.

Tune In Tonight

The Republican presidential candidates will debate jobs and the economy tonight at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire. Tonight's debate is sponsored by Bloomberg News and the Washington Post. The debate will be broadcast on Bloomberg Television, on WBIN in New Hampshire and online at bloomberg.com and washingtonpost.com.

There is good news and bad news for front-runner Mitt Romney in advance of tonight's debate. The good news is that he picked up the endorsement of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie today.

The bad news is that newly-released White House records show that three advisers who helped create RomneyCare had a dozen meetings with the Obama White House in 2009, underscoring just how much the Obama team looked to RomneyCare as its model. Mitt, call your office!

Democrats Embrace Radical Protestors

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is jumping to the defense of the Occupy Wall Street movement after House Majority Leader Eric Cantor blasted the "growing mobs" across the country. The DCCC has launched an online petition defending the protestors as representative of the American middle class. Really?

Here's who the DCCC thinks represents the middle class:

  • The Occupy Boston contingent has welcomed supporters of a Muslim extremist who is accused of supporting jihadi groups. Since midnight, Boston police report having arrested nearly 130 people.
  • Over the holiday weekend, 100 members of the Occupy Washington crowd tried to storm the National Air and Space Museum. Why? Because there was a drone aircraft similar to those used to kill Al Qaeda terrorists on display.

To most Americans, drones are an effective weapon in our war against Islamofascism. But the left-wing extremists who Democrats are embracing were trying to prevent the "glorification of extra-judicial executions and the military industrial complex at a public institution."
  • Today the Washington, D.C. group barged into a Senate office building and refused police orders to leave, thus provoking multiple arrests.
  • The Occupy Chicago group spent the day yesterday trying to outmaneuver the Chicago Police Department in order to raid the hotel where the American Mortgage Bankers Association was meeting.
  • The Occupy Atlanta group refused to let Rep. John Lewis (D-GA), a hero of the civil rights movement, address its members.
  • What does the Occupy Wall Street movement want? Brian Phillips, the group's spokesman, recently told NPR, "My political goal is the overthrow of the government." You can hear it for yourself here, about three minutes into the story. That may explain why the Communist Party USA is also on board with the Occupy Wall Street movement.

The DCCC's action is just the latest example of the liberal establishment embracing this movement of anarchists and socialists. But here's a note to the DCCC: People who beat on bongos, urinate in parks and worse may be your loyal activists, but they are not the American Middle Class!

To the GOP candidates debating tonight: You will be asked what you think of this riff-raff. Don't be mealy-mouthed! Take them on! They do not speak for middle America.

Obama's Job Bill

The Senate is taking up President Obama's jobs bill today. Politico reports that it may not even get a majority of the vote in the Senate because several Democrats oppose it.

Regardless of the final tally, everyone in Washington knows that the bill is going nowhere because it was never a serious policy proposal. It was never about helping you find a job or helping you keep your current job. It was always about helping Obama save his job.

As evidence, various media outlets report today that David Axelrod has prepared a memo urging support for the president's jobs plan in advance of the Senate's vote. But Axelrod doesn't work for the White House -- he works for the Obama reelection campaign!

Paul & The Poll

I had quite a few emails this morning from supporters who were stunned by the news that Rep. Ron Paul won the straw poll at the 2011 Values Voter Summit. Some even confused the Summit's straw poll with the poll I conducted last week of our supporters. So let me clear up any confusion.

Last Thursday, I asked readers of this daily report to give me their feedback on the GOP primary contest. Friday, I reported that Herman Cain was the top choice among our supporters. Again, that was a poll of subscribers to my "End of Day" report.

At the same time, the 2011 Values Voter Summit was getting underway in Washington, D.C. The Values Voter Summit is sponsored by the American Family Association, the Family Research Council, Heritage Foundation, Liberty University, Liberty Counsel and American Values, my public policy organization. Attendees at the Values Voter Summit took part in a separate poll conducted at the Summit.

Ron Paul did come in first (37%) at the Values Voter Summit's straw poll. But as you can read here, Summit organizers are discounting the results. Six hundred people (approximately 82% of Paul's support) registered Saturday morning, voted and left right after Paul spoke.

Many were probably local supporters bused in by the Paul campaign, which is headquartered in the Washington suburb of Springfield, Virginia, not in Texas where Paul resides. They obviously had little interest in the Summit and values issues or they would have participated all weekend long.

It is interesting to note that the second place finisher at the Values Voter Summit was Herman Cain, and that Rick Santorum finished third. Cain likely would have placed first had Paul's supporters not "stuffed the ballots" on Saturday morning.

We have seen this guy before....Watch the video and take note that the danger he speaks about is REAL.....and the events of today proclaim that loud and clear...If Iran can orchestrate acts of terror here in the U.S.....What happens when they have Nuclear expertise and can plant a "dirty bomb" in any Center City, so that we cannot inhabit the area for 100 + years ? With Islam there is no deterrent as there was in the Cold War with the Soviets.......It is imperative that an Islamic Republic like Iran  must be prevented from obtaining Nuclear capability....and that must be accomplished by ANY MEANS NECESSARY.......

Analysts: IRS turns blind eye to mosques preaching jihad

U.S. allowing foreign governments to operate as non-profits, says critic

October 10, 2011

By Michael Carl

American mosques are preaching jihad in the U.S. in possible violation of their tax-exempt status and the IRS is letting it happen, according to experts on the issue.

"Muslim Mafia" co-author and terrorism analyst David Gaubatz says American mosques simply use foreign money to promote jihad, and there's no comment or question from the IRS.

"They do indeed preach jihad and more importantly they consider Islam to be a government first and a religion second. This means we are allowing governments of other countries to operate as a non-profit. I have numerous documents showing this," Gaubatz said.

Atlas Shrugs publisher and Islam analyst Pamela Geller believes IRS inaction is because the agency isn't equipped to deal with the issue.

News from The Hill:

Senate pressures China, House by passing currency bill
By Pete Kasperowicz

The Senate approved legislation Tuesday that at once pressures China to allow its currency to appreciate more quickly, and forces House Republican leaders to consider how to handle the controversial yet popular bill.

On a vote of 63-35, the Senate approved the currency bill, S. 1619.

The vote poses an immediate quandary for House Republican leaders, who have so far dismissed the bill as a recipe for starting a trade war between the U.S. and China, just when the world is looking for the countries to work together to help maintain global economic growth.

Call Congress: Support Free Trade

Before Congress right now are three pending free trade agreements with South Korea, Colombia and Panama. These deals would open up new markets for American products and services, allowing American businesses to grow and hire more American employees.

This resulting boom to our economy could create hundreds of thousands of jobs without  spending that will saddle our country with even more debt.

>> Call Now: Tell your Member of Congress to support free trade.

These three agreements have been sitting on President Obama's desk since the day he took office. The time to delay and stall on behalf of his Big Labor allies has ended. It's time he allow American Businesses to grow without spending money or raising taxes. This is the kind of pro-growth policy that will help get our economy moving.

Please call your Member of Congress and urge them to support all three free trade agreements, and then leave us a call report so we can track the positions of these Members leading into tomorrow's vote.

Let us know: Tell us how your Member is planning to vote.

Sincerely,

Russ Vought

Goodbye Columbus and Goodbye America

Columbus Day, once considered a major event, has been undergoing a decline in recent years. Its parades have met with protests and some have been deemphasized or outright eliminated.

In California, Columbus Day became Indigenous People's Day, which sounds vaguely like a Marxist terrorist group's holiday. But while it's tempting to put that down to California's political correctness, in South Dakota, it was renamed Native American Day.

No American state has followed Venezuela's lead in renaming it Día de la Resistencia Indígena, or Day of Indigenous Resistance, which actually is a Marxist terrorist group's holiday, the whole notion of celebrating the discovery of America has come to be seen as somehow shameful and worst of all, politically incorrect.

Anti-Columbus Day protests are mounted by La Raza, whose members, despite their indigenous posturing, are actually mostly descended from Spanish colonists, but who know that most American liberals are too confused to rationally frame an objection to a protest by any minority group.

About the only thing sillier than a group of people emphasizing their collective identity as a Spanish speaking people, and denouncing Columbus as an imperialist exploiter is the prevalence of "white" aborigines in Australian academia who make Ward Churchill look tan.

Eric Holder's 5 page whine to Issa Committee: a real scream!

Oct 11, 2011 06:31 am | Coach Collins

 By Doug Book, staff writer

Feeling abused and mistreated in the face of Congressman Darrell Issa's narrow minded view that Attorney's General should tell the truth to House investigators,  Eric Holder has addressed a 5 page letter to Republican and Democrat members of the House Government Oversight Committee.

Following are some of the highlights of this unintentionally laughable bit of deflection,  distortion and demagoguery.

1.)  "We are committed to disrupting and dismantling the organizations that traffic weapons across our borders...,"  writes Holder of the  "most important responsibilities"  of his Department of Justice. Of course,  it was his own DOJ that did most of the trafficking as it provided straw purchasers with countless tax dollars for the purchase of thousands of weapons and then helped to smuggle them across the Mexican border. Naturally,  if the Attorney General is in fact suggesting the dismantling of the DOJ,  he'll find any number willing to help.

 2.)  "I have ... Continue Reading:Eric Holder's 5 page whine to Issa Committee: a real scream!

"Smart meters" insidious government encroachment into daily lives

Oct 10, 2011 02:06 pm | Coach Collins

 By Suzanne Eovaldi, staff writer

Homeowners must keep a heads up to any effort from their local power and light, gas company or water supplier to install "smart meters" as replacements for their present traditional meters.

"Smart meters" are insidious devices that measure the amount of electricity, water or gas used by an individual consumer. They can and are used to regulate the amount of each commodity we are allowed to consume as decided by a corporate/governmental bureaucracy.

Physical dangers

Researchers point out these wireless meters will emit dangerous radio microwave frequencies throughout our homes every day. Additionally, these smart meters are an invasion of our personal privacy, theft of our personal liberties, and give government "1984" - Big Brother type control of each of us. Give these people the ability to cut off our wattage gas or water and we give them the power to control everything we do and think and say.

Andrew Jackson: TEA party President? Not even close!

Oct 10, 2011 06:13 am | Coach Collins

 By Kevin "Coach" Collins

After I realized the author of "Andrew Jackson: Tea Party President" (The American Spectator October 2011) Robert W. Merry was serious I was compelled to respond. He had to be straightened out about what the TEA party movement is actually about.

Mr. Merry's piece about Jackson has  "Ivory Tower elitist" all over it as it works overtime to spray perfume on a man who was certainly complicit in Aaron Burr's treasonous plot to make the Louisiana territories his private kingdom. Jackson set the stage for never ending poor relations with South and Central America as well.

Merry starts with a straw man premise about  TEA party patriots (not surprisingly the beltway minded Merry doesn't seem to understand it is T.E.A. meaning TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY so it's not really "Tea"). He thinks we are looking for "guidance" from a Republican president of the distant past but conveniently bypasses Ronald Reagan, the quintessential TEA ... This may be Obama's worst stunt in a while: apologizes to family of killed Islamist terrorist

Oct 09, 2011 02:03 pm | Coach Collins

By Kevin "Coach" Collins

We all remember how revolting it was watching Barack Obama kowtowing and kissing the rings and butts of thugs and sheiks around the world. An especially sickening image of Obama comes to mind. It is a picture of Obama bowing to an over-stuffed sheik at the G-20 meeting in London in March 2009. From left to right we see an Asian diplomat with a look of horror and disgust on his face,  in the middle we see Nicholas Sarkozy with a  smug smile only surpassed by the knowing grin of Dominique Strauss-Khan. How wonderful! The president of what is supposed to be the most powerful country in the world kissing the ring of a Muslim leader while the world's leaders look on.

Now the degradation of America has continued and Obama has outdone himself in boot licking. Obama's Department of State (run by Hillary Clinton) has contacted the family of al-Qaida propagandist ... Report from the Front Lines

A message from our President, Tom DeWeese:

Update #2 on Agenda 21
Update #2 on Agenda 21

The battle against the UN's Agenda 21 and its policy of Sustainable Development is raging across the nation.

Here are just some of the latest actions.

There are now 10 communities that have officially rejected membership with the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI).

The latest to join these ranks are James City County, VA and Lexington, Virginia. There are several more communities across the nation on the verge of taking similar action.

I have just returned from an extensive 10 day tour of Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Montana where I spoke to enthusiastic audiences, was interviewed by the news media and met with several state legislators and county commissioners.

In the Washington state legislature, Rep. Matt Shay reports the creation of an anti-Agenda 21 Caucus.

In Oregon, I addressed a meeting of state legislators that was live streamed across the internet. Several legislators heard our message and expressed interest in taking action.

Of great significance, in Bonner County, Idaho, County Commissioner Cornel Rasor is working to establish a "Property Rights Council" as an official arm of the county government.

The council will oversee legislation to assure it does not violate property rights. In addition, it will train county staff to understand property rights and assure they are protected in all county business. This is a revolutionary proposal that must be implemented across the nation.

While I was traveling in Montana, word came that presidential candidate Newt Gingrich talked about Agenda 21 on the Sean Hannity radio show.

I had supplied the Gingrich campaign with that information after they contacted me. Apparently Mr. Gingrich and all presidential candidates are being pummeled with questions about Agenda 21. We need to increase that pressure.

Finally, in a surprise move, two bills (Assembly bill 303 and Senate Bill 225) have been introduced into the Wisconsin Legislature to allow local community government to repeal comprehensive development plans that were forced under smart growth legislation and the bill also eliminates the grant program that was set up to finance the smart growth planning.

These bills need support and more co-sponsors. And the legislation needs to be repeated in legislatures across the nation.

Agenda 21 is a disastrous transformation of American society to a planned central economic control that threatens every aspect of our lives.

Finally, Americans see the danger and are ready to learn more and take action to stop it.

The American Policy Center is a recognized leader in the battle to stop Agenda 21 and restore Constitutional controls on the power of government.

I'm doing everything I can to defeat Agenda 21. Please help me continue to lead this fight.

Your financial contribution of at least $20 will keep APC in the thick of this battle. We are beginning to move the rock of freedom uphill.

We succeeded in making Agenda 21 a national issue. With you help today we can stop Agenda 21 from destroying American freedom. Please help today.

Fed to monitor Facebook, Twitter to snoop on critics?  |  LA Times
"What they really want to do is to gather information on everyone that views the Federal Reserve negatively," wrote the Economic Collapse blog. "It is unclear how they plan to use this information once they have it, but considering how many alternative media sources have been shut down lately, this is obviously a very troubling sign." Is that a great understatement or what? Troubling. The political world has be roiling with troubling signs. The problem is that it is more than signs, regretfully. The actions of the Fed, EPA, President, and on and on are all going in the same direction -- taking us to hell in the proverbial handbasket. And what are we doing to stop it?

A "Bold New World" and "Forces too Powerful"  |  News with Views
For those who think that what the world is going through is natural and not a scheme devised by a global elite, this piece by Dennis Cuddy should open some eyes. It is well documented and quite thorough. A quote from from an article by Toynbee in International Affairs states, "I will merely repeat that we are at present working, discreetly but with all our might, to wrest this mysterious political force called sovereignty out of the clutches of the local national states of the world. And all the time we are denying with our lips what we are doing with our hands, because to impugn the sovereignty of the local nation states of the world is still a heresy for which a statesman or a publicist can be-perhaps not quite burnt at the stake, but certainly can be ostracized and discredited." The whole article has more quotes and notes to make the reader aware that there is a global elite and they are out to make us their slaves.

Occupy Chicago Protestor Getting Paid $22/Hour Plus Overtime? [VIDEO]

A Chicago-based "Occupy Wall Street" protestor is allegedly getting paid -- more than many Americans with actual jobs -- to protest corporate greed and the unemployment rate in the United States.

Business Insider has obtained a video interview of a seemingly well-informed Chicago protestor who mentions -- almost in passing -- that he gets paid $22 an hour plus overtime to participate in a Chicago offshoot of the "Occupy Wall Street" protests.

The man describes his protesting work as a "full time gig" and added that an unnamed benefactor, who is presumably providing the salary, is "getting [his] money's worth."

An hourly wage of $22 per hour is three times the current minimum wage of $7.33.

It is unclear if the protestor is legitimate or if he is an actor hired to discredit the "Occupy Wall Street" movement. If he is an actor, he's a good one -- he appears well-versed on the grievances of the "Occupy" protestors, and doesn't mention the renumeration until later in the interview. Watch the "Occupy Chicago" video after the jump:

The above video is not the first piece of evidence suggesting that protestors associated with "Occupy Wall Street" may be getting paid to protest. On Thursday, The Daily Caller published a story that implicated a liberal organizer of "Occupy D.C." of paying Hispanic protestors. The protestors, who carried signs in Spanish, referred to a Caucasian man as their boss, but when asked by a bilingual newscaster if they were being paid, they denied it.

What the Occupy Wall Street Protesters Really Want

Tuesday, October 11, 2011

It's been nearly a month now since the first protesters trickled into the streets of New York City and began what is now a nationwide movement demanding......well, we're still really not sure what they want.  And everytime somone asks them to get specific they go off on a rant against generic, faceless entities like "corporations,"  "bankers" and the "1%."

So we decided to ask the Occupy DC protesters some questions that they couldn't weasel their way out of.  Here's what happened:

The Heritage Foundation New Common Sense

Who Needs The Senate?

During a recent campaign event in North Carolina for his jobs plan, President Obama remarked to his admiring crowd: "If you love me, you've got to help me pass this bill!" Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) showed no love for Obama this past week. To avoid voting on (or more appropriately, voting for) President Obama's jobs bill, Reid changed the rules of the Senate and undermined the legislative body's purpose.

In order for the Senate to consider the President's jobs plan, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) had pledged to offer an unchanged version of the plan as an amendment to another bill already under consideration in the Senate. But, on Thursday night, Senator Reid stopped a vote on the jobs bill by blocking out all amendments but his own. After Reid blocked consideration of the President's jobs plan, Senator McConnell filed a motion to suspend the rules and thereby allow amendments after the debate is complete. Reid denounced the McConnell's tactic as offensive to our governmental structure. Therefore, Reid concluded, "unless the Senate votes to change its precedents today, we will be faced with a potentially serious series of motions to suspend the rules and that is a result that a functioning democracy cannot tolerate." With that, Reid and his party members unilaterally changed the chamber's precedent-a maneuver so extreme, it is dubbed the nuclear option.

In changing the rules of the Senate, Harry Reid is changing the role of the Senate. The Senate is a distinctive institution of American politics. Unlike the House of Representatives, which represents the people directly, the Senate represents the interests of the states. All 50 states participate in the deliberative process through the 100 elected Senators. Each legislative house has developed its own unique rules and traditions over the years. In their respective legislative bodies, individual Senators have more power than individual Representatives. The Senate's rules and traditions enables Senators to protect the interests of their state. In particular,  the Senate has developed a tradition of extended debate and a process of legislating that lends itself to numerous amendments. Senators cannot adequately defend their states' interests, if they are prohibited from offering amendments and participating in extended debate.

In 2005, when the nuclear option was briefly considered, Senate Democrats recognized that changing the Senate rules to shut out the minority party and curtail debate was contrary to the Founders' purpose for the Senate. Senator Richard Durbin (D-IL) explained that extended debate is crucial to protect the minority against the "Tyranny of the Majority." Senator Reid stated, "without robust debate, the Senate is crippled."

In 2011, however, there's no love for the Senate's precedent. Harry Reid changed the rules to avoid considering an unpopular bill. But doing so undermines the purpose of the Senate. The Senate is a unique legislative body, and many have criticized its arcane rules and procedures for slowing down the legislative process. Yet these procedures and rules enable both the minority and individual members of both parties to participate in extended debate. These rules give states a voice in the deliberative process and therefore make the Senate the deliberative body the Framers' designed it to be.  And that's not worth changing.

 National Right To Work

PLEASE WATCH THIS VIDEO -

Have you watched our new video exposé documenting the ongoing scourge of union violence?

We're preparing to distribute this video far and wide to mobilize even more grassroots citizens to join the fight to enact the Freedom from Union Violence Act, but Mark wanted me to make sure our most loyal supporters have seen it first.

But I must warn you, some of the stories and images are very disturbing.

I'm sure you'll agree that extortionate violence shouldn't be a partisan political issue and it's time to close the union violence loophole once and for all.

It's simply a matter of right and wrong...and, for some workers, it's a matter of life and death.

Please, if you haven't already, watch the video and sign the Freedom from Union Violence Act petition today.

Sincerely,

Sheila W.

Thousands of Chaplains Refusing Pentagon Directive

military chaplains

On September 30, 2011, the Pentagon issued a directive to all military chaplains to perform same-sex marriage ceremonies and to make military chapels available for any such private ceremonies.

In response to the Pentagon directive, the Catholic Archdiocese for Military Service issued a statement that no Catholic chaplains serving in the military will perform or participate in any same-sex marriage ceremonies at any military chapels.  In conjunction with the Catholic response, members of the Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty have issued a statement indicating that they will also not participate in performing same-sex ceremonies.

A Liberal Speaks on Homosexuality, Slavery, and the Bible

am_i_not_a_man

In an interview with a homosexual Chicago newspaper, CNN's openly-homosexual African-American anchor Don Lemon argued that the same Bible that was used to "keep us as slaves" is now being used against homosexuality and homosexual marriage. Lemon claimed: "We [in the African American community] have, in many ways, been a victim of the Scriptures and theology that have been used to keep us as slaves. . . . It's been ingrained [in] us, and now we use it against gay [sic] people without thinking about things objectively."

The homosexual, transgender, bi-sexual, and whatever-sexual movement works overtime to hitch its cart to the civil rights horse. Contrary to media perceptions, Christians believe homosexual behavior is the issue. Sexual behavior cannot be compared to the struggle of blacks to secure full civil rights. Blacks were brought here by force, as slaves. Being black is not a behavior trait. Homosexuality is. Homosexuality is what a person does. Colin Powell, who is a black man, sees no relationship between homosexual rights and civil rights:

Is Small Government Not a Conservative Value Anymore?

tony-perkins-photo

I am not going to argue with Tony Perkins about his discounting the results of his own poll at the Value Voter Summit, organized by Perkins's own organization, the Family Research Council. If Perkins believes his organization is not able to represent the majority of socially conservative Americans in its events, then so be it, I will agree with him. I actually thought about it four years ago when Mitt Romney won the same poll. I just couldn't see how socially conservative Americans can have the same values with a Mormon who is also big-government proponent, pro-high-taxes, sponsored by Goldman Sachs (the same Goldman Sachs that is also the biggest sponsor for Obama) and is the original architect of what today is known as Obamacare. In one way or another, Perkins and I came to the same conclusion about the Family Research Council: It has outlived its ability to live up to its purpose.

Obama Denies FEMA Funds to GOP-Leaning Virginia
By Ben Johnson, The White House Watch

In case anyone needed more proof that Barack Obama governs to support his base constituencies and make war on others, the Obama administration has denied federal funds to the GOP-leaning state of Virginia to assist with rebuilding efforts following the 5.8-magnitude earthquake that shook the entire region on August 23. The quake, which was centered in Louisa County, did an estimated $15 million of property damage to the state.

FEMA's Individual Assistance program would have provided loans, grants, and even Nancy Pelosi's favorite "job creator," unemployment assistance. Yet with these inducements, the president denied emergency assistance to Virginia for the second time this year...

The cut-off of federal dollars seems to coincide with McDonnell's election as governor on November 3, 2009 - the same day....

Obama's Policies Caused Greatest U.S. Wealth Decline in Decades
By Ben Johnson, The White House Watch

Barack Obama has so humbled American finances and destroyed the average family's wealth that even the mainstream media can no longer cover up his dismal record. Today's issue of the New York Times ran a featured story entitled, "Recession Officially Over, U.S. Incomes Kept Falling." The story highlights a study by two former Census Bureau officials, Gordon W. Green Jr. and John F. Coder, which found Americans have lost more wealth under the Obama administration than in the midst of the recession under George W. Bush. Altogether, the recession and Obama's policies created the largest reduction in the American standard of living in decades. (Read the report's major findings here.) Obama's policies have inflated store prices, debased the dollar's purchasing power, and led to a glut of unemployed who are not drawing a paycheck. However, government workers suffered the smallest income drop, meaning Obama's policies encourage government dependence and a further spiral toward economic catastrophe....

The entertainment industry elite has decided Hank has not suffered enough for his sins. They made clear they want him shut up for good. This weekend the cast of Saturday Night Live with special guest Ben Stiller, suggested Hank never be invited to speak about politics again in life....

U.S. seeks immediate stay of Alabama immigration law

But California gets it's own law

The Obama administration sought an immediate order on Friday to block Alabama's strict new immigration law pending appeal, arguing it was already driving immigrants out of the state.

The Justice Department asked the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, based in Atlanta, to stay the law after a federal judge in Alabama refused to do so because she said the government had not established there would be substantial harm to the public interest.

Bloomberg Responds (Sort Of)

Posted: 11 Oct 2011 11:05 AM PDT

(John Hinderaker)

I have done a series of posts critiquing Bloomberg Markets' hit piece on Koch Industries. If you haven't already read them, you can follow these links to parts one, two, three and four. I concluded each of my first three posts with questions directed to Jonathan Neumann, the Bloomberg editor who was responsible for the Koch Industries article. I suggested that our readers join with me in urging Mr. Neumann to respond; apparently a large number did so.

On Friday, I received answers to some (but not most) of the questions I had posed to Mr. Neumann. Oddly, they came in an email not from Neumann, but from a New York lawyer whom Bloomberg has retained to represent it, who noted that Koch Industries has referred to a possible defamation claim against Bloomberg. I have no idea whether any such lawsuit is likely-the law of defamation is extremely restrictive these days-but it is easy to see why Bloomberg is worried about getting sued. Bloomberg wrote that Koch Industries "flouted the law" by acting "in defiance of a U.S. trade ban" and making "illicit" sales to Iran. Those statements were plainly false, as one of my posts pointed out, and as even Bloomberg Markets' sister publication has now admitted. I assume further that a false statement to the effect that a person or company broke the law would be considered defamatory. However, the subject of my posts was not defamation, but rather Bloomberg's journalistic standards.

Altogether, I asked Neumann to respond to 22 questions. Here they are, together with the answers that Neumann supplied through his lawyer, and my comments on those answers:

Liberal Anti-Democrats

Posted: 11 Oct 2011 06:27 AM PDT

(Steven Hayward)

Over on American.com, I've got up an essay this morning on the deep ambivalence liberals have toward popular democracy.  Their incoherence goes back to the theoretical Progressivism of people like Woodrow Wilson, who wanted both more democracy and less democracy at the same time.  Here's the key paragraph:

At the core of "Progressivism," as it was called then and is again today, was the view that more and more of the business of individuals and society was best supervised by expert administrators sealed off from the transient pressures of popular politics. So at the same time that Progressives championed "more democracy" in the form of populist initiatives, referendum, and recalls, they also developed a theory deeply anti-democratic in its implications. As the famous phrase from Saint-Simon had it, "the government of men is to be replaced by the administration of things." But this undermines the very basis of democratic self-rule. No one better typifies the incoherence of Progressivism on this point than Woodrow Wilson, an enthusiastic theorist of the modern administrative state who couldn't clearly express why we would still need to have elections in the future. In Wilson's mind, elections would become an expression of some kind of watery, Rousseauian general will, but certainly not change specific policies or the nature of administrative government.

Bottom line: at the end of the day, modern liberalism will increasingly come down on the side of less democracy.  More on this later, perhaps.  I'm in an airport right now.

How Dems create jobs

Posted: 11 Oct 2011 05:42 AM PDT

(Scott Johnson)

Minnesota Fifth District Rep. Keith Ellison appeared over the weekend for an interview on MSNBC by the Washington Examiner's Tim Carney. How did Carney sneak in there? I don't know, but he made the most of his appearance. He elicited this exemplary teaching from Ellison (video below), summarized by RealClearPolitics:

Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) tells MSNBC regulations create jobs because a business will have to hire people to help them comply with the new requirement.

"I think the answer is no," Ellison said when asked if he believes regulations kill jobs. "And here is why: When we talked about increasing fuel efficiency standards, the industry responded, and they need engineers and designers and manufacturers, and they need actually more people to help respond to the new requirement."

Star Parker: It's easy to blame problems on others and excuse the lack of self-initiative.  What happened to good old-fashion planting a garden?

The challenge is that poverty in America today is that it has been redefined. You don't need to be in serious need, you just need to make bad choices and find yourself in the category of meeting government assistance.

SAVING MEDICARE

Since 1964, our nation's senior citizens have relied on Medicare to ensure access to healthcare. Now the program is going broke -- and it is going broke fast.

It began spending its reserves in 2008 when payouts exceeded dollars collected for the program. [cite]

Predictions for exhaustion of the reserve vary, with 2024 identified by the Social Security Administration in the Trustees 2011 report. [cite]

The Democrat response is to reduce the amount Medicare reimburses physicians for their services. [cite]

This will result in fewer participating physicians and the physicians continuing in the program seeing fewer Medicare patients.

Patients will wait longer and have fewer choices in seeing a doctor.

If this makes access to care sufficiently untenable, or if Medicare does not get on viable financial footing, it will be administered through ObamaCare[cite].

This would include cost controls by a 15-member board of bureaucrats deciding wich treatments, drugs, and surgeries patients can receive.

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), Chairman of the House Committee on the Budget, has a plan which saves Medicare with no disruption to today's seniors and reasonable changes for future retirees.

The Ryan Plan is widely misunderstood and misrepresented. The future of our seniors' healthcare is too important to be decided on misinformation. Here are the facts about Medicare and the Ryan Plan.

The Ryan Plan in a Nutshell

Those currently retired and those close to retirement (55 and over) will see no change from the existing Medicare system. Existing physician reimbursement flaws will be corrected to encourage physicians to continue participating in the system.[cite]

On retirement, those currently under 55 will be provided vouchers from the government to help pay for health insurance. Voucher amounts will be based in part on income, with wealthier individuals receiving less assistance. Risk pools [cite] will be created to ensure that insurance companies will provide coverage to seniors, despite their generally higher use of medical care.

The result is retirees will have a system that gives them options, similar to that which members of Congress use and which will include options similar to Medicare Advantage, the popular plan eliminated by Obamacare. [cite]

The Ryan Plan Incorporates These Important Points

It is important that we

Plan now for changes, to avoid chaos later

The medicare system is running out of money. Change is coming, one way or another.

Pretending we can continue as we are is not an option, it is a recipe for disaster. The longer we wait to make changes, the greater the disruption to current and future retires, the more abruptly the changes will have to be implemented, and the fewer options we will have.

By implementing the Ryan Plan now, we will

  • maintain the existing system for current retirees and for individuals 55 and over
  • provide a sustainable, quality system for future retirees.

It is important that we...

Preserve the existing system, unchanged, for current retirees and workers 55 and older

This bears repeating:

  • Under the Ryan Plan, if you are retired, your Medicare coverage will not change.
  • If you are over 55, Medicare as it exists today will be there for you when you retire.
  • And the Ryan Plan provides for quality health insurance coverage upon retirement for those currently under 55.

It is important that we...

Maintain availability of insurance coverage for future retirees

Since individuals generally require more medical care as they age, it tends to be difficult for older individuals to find private health insurance that will cover them. That is one reason our existing Medicare system is considered so important for many. The Ryan Plan creates risk pools which encourage multiple insurance companies to offer health coverage to those of retirement age.

It is important that we...

Maintain affordability

Individuals have paid into the Medicare system with the promise that coverage will be there for them when they retire. Unfortunately, we are facing an economic crisis in this country and Medicare is a significant part of the problem. To save the system for everyone and to avert broader economic calamity, in the future wealthier Americans will have to bear a greater portion of their healthcare burden.

It is important that we...

Make it feasible for doctors to participate in Medicare

Currently in many areas of the country physicans are reimbursed for Medicare patients at a rate that does not cover their expenses. Recent changes put forth by the Democrats further reduce reimbursement. [cite] This is not sustainable for any business and as a result increasing numbers of physicians are discontinuing their participation in the Medcare program. Patients are finding that their physician is no longer a Medicare provider and when they look for another physician it is increasingly difficult for them to find a Medicare provider who is accepting new patients and can see them in a reasonable time. [cite]. The Ryan plan fixes the reimbursement problem, making it feasible for physicians to continue participating in Medicare.

It is important that we...

Keep medical decisions between patients and doctors, not remote government panels

The Ryan plan harnesses the free market and puts choice in the hands of the patient. Retirees will be able to pick the insurance plan that best meets their needs, applying government vouchers toward premium costs. Medical decisions would be made in consultation with their personal physician, based on the individual's situation and preferences.

Sharpton, Van Jones: Glenn Beck is despicable

Al Sharpton interviewed Van Jones on MSNBC last night and it's one of the more painful interviews you'll ever see. After calling Glenn Beck 'despicable' Van Jones went on to declare that the Occupy Wall Street protesters are 'selfless' fighting against the 'selfish' Wall Street people. Really? The 'I don't want to pay my college loan' and have sex in tarps while eating smoked salmon and demanding people give them money. That's selfless? Glenn reacts to the audio on radio today. WATCH

Hank Williams Jr. declares war

Hank Williams Jr. was fired by ESPN after comments he made during an interview on Fox News in which he dared to make an analogy using the suddenly off limits 'Hitler' reference (see BUSH = Hitler). Of course, he wasn't even comparing the two, he was making an analogy -- but don't make the media think too hard or they might fall over. Hank responds strongly with a brand new theme song that declares war and draws a clear line in the sand. Listen to it and get Glenn's reaction HERE.
