Obama's Jobs Bill Ends State Sovereignty

- Wake Up Governors!!

Section 376 of Obama's tax and spend "jobs" bill ends state sovereignty, turns our Republic into a dictatorship and destroys the foundation upon which our country was built.

The fundamental transformation of America is almost complete.

Read the bill. (Emphasis added)

"SEC. 376. FEDERAL AND STATE IMMUNITY.

(a) Abrogation of State Immunity- AStateshall not be immune under the 11th Amendment to the Constitution from a suit brought in a Federal court of competent jurisdiction for a violation of this Act.

(b) Waiver of State Immunity-

(1) IN GENERAL-

(A) WAIVER- A State's receipt or use of Federal financial assistance for any program or activity of a State shall constitute a waiver of sovereign immunity, under the 11th Amendment to the Constitution or otherwise, to a suit brought by an employee or applicant for employment of that program or activity under this Act for a remedy authorized under Section 375(c) of this Act.

(B) DEFINITION- In this paragraph, the term `program or activity' has the meaning given the term in section 606 of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 U.S.C. 2000d-4a)."

Here is the link to 42 USC 2000d-4a which defines "program or activity":

"For the purposes of this subchapter, the term "program or activity" and the term "program" mean all of the operations of-

(1)
(A) a department, agency, special purpose district, or other instrumentality of a State or of a local government; or

(B) the entity of such State or local government that distributes such assistance and each such department or agency (and each other State or local government entity) to which the assistance is extended, in the case of assistance to a State or local government;"

Also...

"any part of which is extended Federal financial assistance."

The above is stated as an extension of the actual citation of the general section itself.

More from Section 376 (emphasis added):

"(2) EFFECTIVE DATE- With respect to a particular program or activity, paragraph (1) applies to conduct occurring on or after the day, after the date of enactment of this Act, on which a State first receives or uses Federal financial assistance for that program or activity."

Wake up Governors!! Wake up America!! Tell Congress about Section 376 and why they must not pass this bill.

Obama's tax and spend "jobs" bill is a stealth move to end state sovereignty and transform what made our nation the greatest country the world has ever known.

If Obama's bill passes, kiss freedom goodbye

 and say hello to tyranny.

David Horowitz Freedom Center

David Horowitz  Luncheon & Book Signing

The Philadelphia Freedom Center is pleased to welcome our mentor and leader, David Horowitz to Philadelphia to speak about his new book, A Point in Time:The Search for Redemption in this Life & the Next.

David shocked the political left when he abandoned 1960s radicalism to become a conservative.  Founder and current  president of the David Horowitz Freedom Center, David is also founder and editor of FrontPage Magazine.  He also founded Students for Academic Freedom, Newsrealblog.com, Discoverthenetworks.com, and is the author of over 20  books.

A Point in Time:

The Search for Redemption in this Life & the Next

Part memoir and part philosophical reflection, A Point in Time focuses on man's inevitable search for meaning - and how for those without religious belief, that search often leads to a faith in historical progress, one that is bound to disappoint. Horowitz agrees with Arcus Aurelius, whose stoic philosophy provides a focal point for the book, "He who has seen present things has seen all, both everything that has taken place from all eternity and everything that will be for time without end..."

Horowitz remembers his father; a political radical who put his faith in just such a redemptive future. He examines this hope through the other great figure who organizes these reflections, the Russian novelist Fyodor Dostoevsky, whose writings foreshadowed the great tragedies of the social revolutions to come. Horowitz draws on eternal themes: the need we have to make sense out of the lives we have been given, our desire to repair the injustices we encounter, and the consequences of our mortality.

Interweaving episodes of his own life with the writings of the philosopher and the novelist, Horowitz explores how we provide meaning to an apparently senseless existence and the dire consequences that follow from seeking to redeem it by attempting to make a perfect world out of the imperfect one in which we find ourselves.

Welcome to Washington's Headquarters at the Moland House

1641 Old York Road, Hartsville, PA  18974

In the early evening of 10 August 1777, eleven thousand Continental and militia soldiers are marching up York Road towards the Cross Roads with Bristol Road [Hartsville, PA] on their way to Coryell's Ferry [New Hope, PA] to camp four miles across the Delaware RiverGeneral George Washington receives a dispatch from John Hancock, President of the Second Continental Congress, placing the 260-vessel British fleet, hauling 17,000 troops under General William Howe, fifty miles south of the Delaware Capes [May & Henelopen] on 7 August. Unsure and wary of Howe's intentions, Washington immediately halts his force to encamp around the bridge over the Little Neshaminy Creek in Warwick Township, Bucks County.  Knowing the area and having ridden through only ten days earlier, he selects the substantial stone dwelling of Widow Moland as his Head Quarters on the farm north of the bridge.

Davis will address.  He is the author of the popular Don't Know Much About... book series as well as America's Hidden History: Untold Tales of the First Pilgrims, Fighting Women, and Forgotten Founders Who Shaped a Nation and  A Nation Rising: Untold Tales of Flawed Founders, Fallen Heroes, and Forgotten Fighters from America's Hidden History.

Property Tax Reform and the Cost of Education - An Outstanding Round Table Discussion

THE BIG PICTURE ON PROPERTY TAX REFORM AND THE COST OF EDUCATING OUR CHILDREN!!

Our round table of three outstanding speakers: Nathan Benfield, David Baldinger and Dr. Richard Brake

THE COST OF EDUCATION GOES UP, UP, UP AND OUR PROPERTY TAXES KEEP GOING UP, UP, UP!  WHAT CAN BE DONE TO CHANGE THIS?

No discussion on property tax reform is complete without talking about what it is costing to educate our children and whether or not they are getting the education they deserve, according to Nathan Benfield, Director of Policy Analysis for the Commonwealth Foundation.  Nate has researched and written on public policy issues including taxation, government spending, education reform and transportation funding. He has frequently provided testimony to Pennsylvania House and Senate committees on various issues including education.

David Baldinger a full-time volunteer for the Pennsylvania Coalition of Taxpayer Associations (PCTA) will be with us to explain the School Property Tax Elimination Plan that permanently eliminates all school district property taxes as well as eliminating local school district earned income taxes (EIT). PCTA says Statewide, current school district budgets increase, on average, at twice the rate of inflation! And, "no tax should have the power to leave you homeless". David started this work in 2004 and since has become one of PA's leading experts on the subject.

Dr. Richard Brake is the Director of Educational Programs at the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI), a non-profit educational foundation with a mission to "Educate for Liberty"- by inspiring college students to discover and embrace principles that make America prosperous, moral, and free. Dr. Brake lives in Berwyn with his family and is currently an elective member of the TE school board. Dr. Brake has documented the failure of America's top universities to teach students the founding history, texts, and institutions of our constitutional republic. His commentary on this disturbing trend has appeared in media outlets nationwide.

Thomas Jefferson: "Whensoever the general government assumes undelegated powers....a nullification of the act is the rightful remedy."

But what IS nullification? How does it happen and work? Since September 2010, the Tenth Amendment Center has been hosting a national tour to educate and activate people on this topic. People are learning the constitutional basis, when it's been used in history, and how it is happening around the country and how YOU can stop DC right in your own state.

Judical Watch is Demanding Answers  Earlier this month, Judicial Watch, a government/judicial watchdog group based out of Washington, DC, hosted a Voter Fraud panel discussion featuring John Fund, Christian Adams, and King Street/True the Vote leader Catherine Engelbrecht. Here's video from a portion of the event:

"The Voter Fraud Threat to Free and Fair Elections" - Part 2

But wait, there's more! The really exciting thing Judicial Watch is doing happened just last week when they filed a FOIA lawsuit against the DOJ to obtain records of communications between the Department of Justice and Project Vote Official/former ACORN attorney Estelle Rogers. You can read more about it here. Bottom line..."Judicial Watch is convinced that Project Vote's activities remain a threat to the integrity of our elections. The fact that Project Vote is bullying states to attack election security reforms in order to register Obama's 'Food Stamp Army' comes as no surprise. But it appears that the Obama Justice Department is using the same playbook as Project Vote - to the detriment of clean elections. The American people deserve to know if the nation's highest law enforcement agency has become nothing more than a political tool to help this scandalous ACORN-front group re-elect Barack Obama. Again, this Justice Department can't seem to be bothered to comply with basic open records FOIA law," stated Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

Be assured, we will be closely watching for any new developments in this case....but in the meantime, if you haven't already volunteered to help uphold free and fair elections by working at the polls WE NEED YOU! There is a critical shortage of polling place workers. We wonder why Project Vote and ACORN get away with their flagrant abuses of our system...it's because we as citizens are allowing it to happen. WE MUST ENGAGE IN THE PROCESS OF OUR ELECTIONS. One way you can engage is by volunteering to work as a poll watcher on Election Day. Please, it is going to take all of us to uphold the integrity of our elections in the days ahead. Get involved now.

True the Vote

We need TTV volunteers for poll watching - Free and fair elections do not happen without citizen involvement. Want to stand up and take action?   True the Vote will provide training and support - you just need to take the first step.  For more information email  info@truethevote.org or go  HERE  to sign up now!

TRUE THE VOTE FAQs

I would like to True the Vote in my area, how do I get started?

Please go to www.truethevote.org and register as a volunteer. If there is already a True the Vote Program Leader in your area, we will put you in touch with them.  If there is not a Program Leader in your area, we will work with you and your organization to get one started.

No.  Our goal is to work with organizations that want to use the True the Vote program as the framework for their own election integrity initiative.

How should I represent True the Vote?

You will not be a representative of True the Vote.  You will represent your own organization's initiative.

How do I get trained on the True the Vote Program?

We will offer five training courses:

 1.  Teambuilding

 2.  Data Collection and Research

 3.  Poll Worker / Poll Watcher Training

Agenda 21 In One Easy Lesson

Awareness of Agenda 21 and Sustainable Development is racing across the nation as citizens in community after community are learning what their city planners are actually up to. As awareness grows, I am receiving more and more calls for tools to help activists fight back. Many complain that elected officials just won't read detailed reports or watch long videos. "Can you give us something that is quick, and easy to read that we can hand out," I'm asked.

So here it is. A one page, quick description of Agenda 21 that fits on one page. I've also included for the back side of your hand out a list of quotes for the perpetrators of Agenda 21 that should back up my brief descriptions.

A word of caution, use this as a starter kit, but do not allow it to be your only knowledge of this very complex subject. To kill it you have to know the facts. Research, know your details; discover the NGO players in your community; identify who is victimized by the policies and recruit them to your fight; and then kill Agenda 21. That's how it must be done. The information below is only your first step. Happy hunting.

What is Sustainable Development?

If you would like to learn more about this national event, or would like to host a local venue, please click here.

Please read the description of the event and the sign-up instructions carefully, and then access the sign-up form at the bottom of the page.

Also, if you would like to study the Koran, we have a resource to recommend. The Qur'an Dilemma is an accurate, readable English translation that contains commentaries and analysis, including commentaries on the doctrine of abrogation, the history of the codification of the Koran, chronological sequence of the Koran, and the status of women in the Koran. Pre-Order Atlas Shrugged Now!

Earlier this year, I urged you to go to theaters to see Atlas Shrugged: Part One and share its message of limited government, free markets and individual liberty with family, friends and neighbors. Based on Ayn Rand's classic novel written in 1957, Atlas Shrugged: Part One was immediately celebrated as a "made for Tea Party film."

The film is now finally set for its much-anticipated release on DVD. As a FreedomWorks member, you can pre-order a limited edition version of Atlas Shrugged: Part One featuring special bonus features from FreedomWorks. Pre-order It Now!

Atlas Shrugged: Part One is set in a not-so-distant future in which government has taken control of businesses, bureaucrats have impose burdensome regulations on the economy and entrepreneurs are rapidly disappearing from society. Their disappearances are all linked to a man named John Galt, a mysterious figure who leaves this desperate world wondering: "Who is John Galt?"

I know many of our members were disappointed that Atlas Shrugged: Part One, a film that had been attempted and scrapped numerous times since the novel debuted over 50 years ago, didn't play in a theater in their area. The release of this limited edition FreedomWorks version of Atlas Shrugged: Part One DVD is a great opportunity to own a part of film history. Get It Now.

As I've said before, Atlas Shrugged: Part One has the opportunity to introduce millions more around the world to the philosophy of freedom. This DVD is a great gift for family and friends who care about the principles of limited government, free markets and individual liberty. Give A Gift.

While activists have many reasons for getting involved in this grassroots movement-TARP, the stimulus, ObamaCare-I know that for me I wasn't initially motivated by a piece of legislation or a midterm election. My conversion happened many years ago when I picked up a dog-eared copy of the 1,000 page tome we know as Ayn Rand's masterpiece, Atlas Shrugged.

That's the power of this book and this film. Pre-order It Now.

Matt Kibbe

GOP debate: Five things to watch

By Nia-Malika Henderson

For 90 minutes in New Hampshire tonight, eight Republican presidential hopefuls will sit around a wooden table and take shots at each other and President Obama. The theme of The Washington Post/Bloomberg debate, which starts at 8 p.m, is the economy. As Karen Tumulty, who will be one of the journalists asking questions, wrote, previous debates definitively shifted the momentum of the race. And tonight's debate will likely set off yet another a new phase.

Here are five key things to look for in tonight's debate:

RedState Morning Briefing

For October 11, 2011

1. Reid Goes Nuclear To Block The President's Stimulus Plan

Harry Reid just went there.

In a stunning parliamentary move, Reid invoked the infamous "nuclear option" this evening on the Senate floor to bar Republicans from getting votes on amendments without Reid's permission. In short, he used a simple majority to do an end run around the rules of the Senate that make it the greatest deliberative body in the world.

Here is what is going on. Harry Reid brought a bill to the floor to impose protectionist sanctions on China. He didn't want anyone to offer any amendments all week that were uncomfortable for his Democrat Senators, even though it is a key feature of the Senate to be able to force votes on any matter that a Senator deems important. In order to prevent Republicans from forcing votes on the President's new stimulus plan, Reid used his ability as the Majority Leader to "fill the tree" by offering meaningless amendments that served only to block Republican amendments. Republicans figured out a way to get around him by offering procedural motions (instead of formal amendments) that would require 67 votes to pass but would secure the roll-call vote to get Democrats on the record.

The GOP manuever fit perfectly within the rules of the Senate. The Senate parliamentarian said so. Reid responded by having the Senate overturn the parliamentarian's ruling. He won his appeal by a vote of 51 to 48 and thereby changed the rules of the Senate by simple majority. Senate rules are supposed to require 67 votes to be changed. This was the nuclear option long contemplated by Republicans in response to Democrats' blockade of conservative judges, but was never used, in part because of what it would mean to the Senate's future as a deliberative body. It was feared that it would ruin the filibuster.

Harry Reid pulled the trigger on a bill that had every chance of passing the Senate. Senate Republicans did not have the votes to stop it, so all that was in jeopardy was Harry Reid's patience and his party's comfort over having to take a tough vote.

The filibuster is still intact, but by invoking the nuclear option with regard to these Republican motions, Reid has established a precedent that will work to it's long-term ruin. That is not a good thing for conservatives. I understand that many want the filibuster to go away when conservatives are in control and trying to pass important policy. But the filibuster is about securing a minority's right to be heard. A government that allows the majority to trample the rights of a minority loses its legitimacy to govern. The majority isn't always right, and the Senate has always been one of our nation's most enduring checks against its tyranny.

The Senate as a deliberative body took a major hit tonight. And all because Harry Reid lost his cool and didn't want to vote on his own President's stimulus plan.

2. Herman Cain: Maybe Obama Is Better Than Rick Perry

He didn't say that exactly but that is what it boils down to.

Last week I posted a story titled Herman Cain: I Endorse Mitt Romney. I engendered some lively discussion mostly from Herman Cain fans who insisted that they could parse hidden meaning into his "Today, I could not support Rick Perry as the nominee for a host of reasons" statement.

To me, only reading English and being unable for a lot of reasons to establish a Vulcan mind meld with Mr. Cain, the statement was clear. He couldn't support Governor Perry and Mitt Romney was in second place this was an endorsement of Romney.

Lest there be any doubt about what Mr. Cain meant, it was cleared up on Hugh Hewitt's radio show today.

3. A Nobel Prize For Settled Science

Today Dan Shechtman, Philip Tobias Professor of Materials Science at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, an Associate of the US Department of Energy's Ames Laboratory, and Professor of Materials Science at Iowa State University, received a telephone call that he didn't expect. It was from the Nobel Committee which had taken valuable time out from awarding its Peace Prize to assorted crackpots, incompetents, frauds, despots and genocidal killers to bestow upon Dr. Shechtman the 2011 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

Professor Schechtman's Nobel Prize is a cautionary tale for the anthropogenic global warming scaremongers.

When Dr. Schectman made his discovery he was hounded out of his research position as a crackpot and derided by no lesser figure than Dr. Linus Pauling with the quip, "Danny Shechtman is talking nonsense. There is no such thing as quasicrystals, only quasi-scientists."

To make a long story short, for the longest time the science of crystallography was settled.

Free Trade Agreements Are A Win for Prosperity

Free trade agreements (FTAs) have economically benefited nations the world over since their inception. Poverty rates in countries with low trade barriers are significantly lower, and data in The Heritage Foundation's Index of Economic Freedom demonstrate that free trade also leads to higher incomes, more jobs, and greater equality.

That's why it's vitally important to quickly enact the three pending U.S. trade agreements with Colombia, Panama, and South Korea. These FTAs have been sitting on the President's desk since 2007 for no good reason. President Obama has finally made them a priority by sending them to Congress last Monday night.

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) endorsed the bills, and it is past time to put them through-especially considering the opportunities already lost in the four-year stall. So far, Washington's inaction on trade has given other countries the upper hand, delivering new jobs and exports overseas and eliminating such prospects for American workers who desperately need them.

Running for Their Lives

by Raymond Ibrahim
Jihad Watch
September 28, 2011

http://www.meforum.org/3054/running-for-their-lives

Historically, non-Muslims whose lands were seized by the jihad had three choices: conversion, dhimmitude, or death. Today, however, they have a fourth option largely unavailable to their forbears: quit their lands of origin-emigrate-the latest testimony to the nature of Islam.

A recent report indicates that unprecedented numbers of Copts, Egypt's indigenous Christian population, are emigrating from their homeland in response to the so-called "Arab spring":

The Egyptian Union of Human Rights Organizations (EUHRO) published a report today on emigration of Christians from Egypt, saying that nearly 100,000 Christians have emigrated since March 2011. The report, which was sent to the Egyptian cabinet and the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), warned that this emigration has been prompted by the escalating intimidation and attacks on Christians by Islamists. "Copts are not emigrating abroad voluntarily," said Naguib Gabriell, the director EUHRO, "they are coerced into that by threats and intimidation by hard line Salafists, and the lack of protection they are getting from the Egyptian regime."

Egypt descends into chaos

October 10, 2011 - 2:30 am - by David P. Goldman

Sunday's massacre of protesting Copts is heartbreaking; from the initial reports, several thousand Christians marched to protest the military government's blind eye towards Muslim violence when they were "were attacked by thugs carrying swords and clubs," according to one Copt. The Egyptian government says that the Christian protesters began firing live ammunition at soldiers. That stretches credibility.

Meanwhile, according to today's summary of the Egyptian press:

The state-owned [newspaper]  Al-Dostour reports on an "insane" increase in the prices of commodities and services that has left citizens "screaming," presumably in despair. In its report, Al-Dostour claims that the "current state of lawlessness has left merchants and businesses with no supervision," giving them free reign to raise prices without fear of repercussion. After a string of powerful metaphors depicting consumers as helpless prey in the grips of some fiercer yet unspecified predator, the report turns into an onslaught of numbers and percentages - food products up 80 percent since January of this year, LE7 for a kilo of sugar and LE13.75 for a liter of vegetable oil, 50 percent increase in the price of flour and LE22 for a kilo of duck meat, and on and on. LE9 for a kilo of humus, too.

No-one appears in charge.

"American" Iran Hikers to Berkeley Prof: Stop Callin' Us Jews, We Hate US, Israel

By Debbie Schlussel

When the far-left, anti-American, anti-Israel "hikers" Shane Bauer, Sarah Shourd, and Joshua Fattal were caught by Iranians over two years ago, I warned you about them, their hatred for the West, and their work on behalf of Greater Arabia. And when Bauer and Fattal were released after a lot of political pressure from friendly Muslims, they didn't disappoint, attacking America and calling for the freeing of "political prisoners in America." But in case there is any doubt about these three, Bauer sent an e-mail to As'ad AbuKhalil, a wacko, anti-Israel, anti-American, Marxist Muslim professor, who taught him at UC-Berzerkely.  (I once went undercover to hear this guy speak, and he's a total nutjob.) Bauer wants to make sure that everyone knows he and his fiancee, Shourd, are not to be mistaken for those evil JOOOOS and doesn't want anyone thinking that Fattal, because he's Jewish by accident of birth, is in anyway associated with the "Evil Zionist Empire." Here are a few of the choice excerpts, in which Bauer begs Professor AbuKhalil to please accept his bona fides as an America-hater and Israel-hater working on behalf of the greater barbaria that is Arabia. It's classic.

Reassessing 'root causes' and 'red herrings'

By MARTIN SHERMAN, JPOST

We shall not enter Palestine with its soil covered in sand, we shall enter it with its soil saturated in blood.

- Gamal Abdel Nasser, president of Egypt, March 8, 1965

This chilling declaration of genocidal intent by the leader of the largest Arab nation, over two years before any Israeli presence in the "occupied territories," was not an isolated aberration.

Quite the contrary, it was typical of a pervasive Judeo-phobic frenzy that prevailed throughout the Arab world, well before the notions of "occupation" and "settlements" - the current buzzwords for rallying anti-Israeli sentiment - had any meaning.

Recalling recalcitrant realities

Thus on May 18, 1967, following the withdrawal of the UN peacekeeping forces in Sinai, in compliance with Egyptian demands, the Cairo-based radio station Voice of the Arabs blared:

"As of today, there no longer exists an international emergency force to protect Israel. We shall exercise patience no...

Free Palestine; Annex Judea, Samaria, and Gaza

by Bill Levinson

The following image shows the ONLY way to free the Palestinian people from oppression.

Free Palestine

Free Palestine

PsyWar perspective: the enemy keeps calling for Israel to "free Palestine." Noting that Hamas and Fatah controlled regions are both rated Not Free by Freedom House, it is obvious that Palestine would not be "free" if Israel vanished tomorrow (as the Palestinians doubtlessly wish it to do). If on the other hand Israel annexed the regions in question and imposed Israeli rule of law, the Palestinian people would for the first time in their lives enjoy genuine civil rights.

Obama Statement On Religious Freedom in Egypt Does Not Mention Word 'Christian'
avatar

President Obama has released a statement to the press regarding violence in Egypt that came after peaceful Coptic Christians marched for freedom. The statement appeared at Politico approximately two hours after Senator Rick Santorum's statement decrying anti-Christian violence was released. As I write, Obama's statement does not yet appear on the White House press release page. Also, the statement issued through White House press secretary Jay Carney does not contain the word "Christian" though it does mention "Copts" who are Christian. Though the incident clearly represents anti-Christian sentiment in Egypt, the President failed to express that in his statement, calling for "restraint on all sides".

Full statement from the White House below:

"The President is deeply concerned about the violence in Egypt that has led to a tragic loss of life among demonstrators and security forces. The United States expresses our condolences to the families and loved ones of all who were killed or injured, and stands with the Egyptian people in this painful and difficult time. Now is a time for restraint on all sides so that Egyptians can move forward together to forge a strong and united Egypt. As the Egyptian people shape their future, the United States continues to believe that the rights of minorities - including Copts - must be respected, and that all people have the universal rights of peaceful protest and religious freedom. We also note Prime Minister Sharaf's call for an investigation and appeal to all parties to refrain from violence. These tragic events should not stand in the way of timely elections and a continued transition to democracy that is peaceful, just and inclusive."

President Obama has been under serious pressure from America's Catholic bishops in regard to the religious freedom of Christians in America.

Below is the press release issued by Rick Santorum at approximately 11 am this morning in regard to anti-Christian violence in Egypt and the role of the Obama administration in the push to "break Egypt".

Killing You Softly

No sooner did Anwar Al-Awlaki, former go to guy for mainstream media heads in need of a quote about the peacefulness of Islam, go to his virgins courtesy of a beautiful aerodynamic drone, then the State Department called the family of one of his co-terroriststs offer their condolences and apologize for not calling them sooner. And if they had only called sooner, the nearest and dearest  could have been treated to a condolence countdown. You are about to be bereaved in 5-4-3-2-1... our condolences.

Some governments are notorious for having one hand that doesn't know what the other is doing. Our government has one hand that apologizes for what the other did. "By the way folks, we just blew up your husband, father and second-cousin, is there anything we can do to make up for it?"

When Hitler went to the great grease bucket in the ground, Churchill didn't stop by the German embassy to offer his condolences. The President of Ireland, Eamon DeValera did, which tells you all you need to know about him... and about our State Department. When the FBI guns down a mobster in a back alley, it doesn't apologize to the widow. But when a drone sails over Yemen and finds that Al-Awlaki shaped part of Google Earth and erases it, the diplomats kowtow to the survivors.

Even when the O admin kills terrorists, it makes sure to do it as softly as possible while offending as few people as possible, and providing simultaneous sign language translation and transgender role models for the kids.

From Howard:

We have, since last February, referred to the uprisings in Tunisia, Egypt, and other Arab lands, as an "Arab Winter"....it is by no means a "Spring" event.....and the Jews worldwide, and the Coptic Christians in Egypt are certainly going to find this out over time....The Copts have already discovered that there will be no "Safe Haven" for them in Egypt over the next few years, as their Churches are burned and violence and intimidation become the norm. There are about 20 dead Copts yesterday in Cairo to attest to that approaching reality. This is precisely what has occurred in Bethlehem under  Palestinian Authority Rule, with the Christian population severely reduced through terror and intimidation, which has never been properly reported by any Main Stream Media that I am aware of. When will the world realize precisely what Jihadist Islam's goals are in the Middle East  and elsewhere ??? So, let's see, the Muslim Authorities illegally build an addition to a Mosque (Which shouldn't be there in the first place, but built by Jordan after 1947) in the Jewish Cemetery on the Mount of Olives destroying Jewish gravesites, and now, Jews are not permitted by Egyptian Authorities to visit the tomb of a famous Rabbi in Cairo....hmmmmm......and what ? .... UN, US, EU, you say, Israel should just keep compromising and give up how much of Judea and Samaria, and accede to Abbas' demands that it be Judenrein ?  hhhmmmmmmm, again...... Wake up World, and  we must educate our friends to the absurdity of a Peace Process which is a FICTION  to anyone who knows the FACTS.......

1. Islamist Winds in Egypt? 'No Jews Allowed' at Holy Site
by Maayana Miskin

The Arab Spring is turning into an Arab Winter for Israeli and Diaspora Jews.

For the first time in recent history, Egypt has decided to completely bar Jews from visiting the tomb of Rabbi Yaakov Abuhatzeira, head of the dynasty that included Rabbi Yisrael Abuhatzeira, the famed "Baba Sali."

The decision, issued by regional ruler Mukhtar el-Hamlawi, was reported by the Palestinian Authority news agency Wafa.

El-Hamlawi reported that a Cairo court had ruled that celebrations are forbidden at the tomb, and Jewish visitors would be barred for that reason.

In addition, he said, "We prohibit Jews from visiting the tomb because we identify with the Palestinian people, and because we do not want to offend the Egyptian public's sensitivities."

Egyptian opposition parties, led by the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood, attempted to prevent Israeli Jews from visiting the rabbi's tomb in 2009.

While then-President Hosni Mubarak agreed to allow the visits, the pilgrimage was cancelled for the first time as opposition parties vowed to prevent Jews from visiting.

Mubarak continued to allow Israelis to visit, and even announced in 2010 that he would grant an unlimited number of permits.

Since Mubarak's ouster in early 2011, Salafi Islam has been on the rise, while the Jew-hating Muslim Brotherhood has been gaining political power.

The changes have led to security anarchy in Sinai, an extremely high terror alert for Israeli visitors, and persecution of religious minorities in Egypt, primarily Coptic Christians.

Hertz suspends Muslim shuttle drivers

Once again we witness a group of Muslims demanding special accommodations not afforded to anyone else.

In the MSNBC story below (highlights added), we read that Hertz suspended Muslim shuttle drivers who took time off work to pray but did not clock out when doing so. (Not all Muslim shuttle drivers refused to clock out and those who did clock out were not suspended.)

Clocking out is a perfectly reasonable requirement-in spite of what a union official said. The union official said requiring the Muslim drivers to clock out to pray "is like having workers clock in and out for smoke breaks or bathroom breaks."

Uh, no it isn't.

In case you missed it, here's another example of Muslims demanding special treatment. This time, it was at a New York theme park in August, where Muslim women were told that safety rules required they not wear headscarves on certain rides.

Again, sounds perfectly reasonable to us-but not to some of the Muslim women. A brawl erupted.

Some foolishly and incorrectly called this safety requirement further evidence of "Islamophobia." Would those people be willing to pay the legal costs incurred by the park if a Muslim woman got strangled by her headscarf on a ride and then her family sued the park for not protecting her safety? Of course they wouldn't.

A central element of radical Islam is an ideologically-based supremacist mindset that demands that societies accommodate them, rather than their assimilating into their host societies. This also reflects sharia law's requirement that human laws must always be subordinate to Islamic law.

Muslim drivers suspended over praying time

The rental car company has suspended 34 drivers in Seattle, Wash., for praying on the job without clocking out.

By Al Olson

More than 30 Seattle-area Hertz shuttle drivers are without work in a clash over Muslim prayer, the Seattle Times reported Friday.

Hertz has "suspended indefinitely" 33 drivers - all of them observant Muslims who work out of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Hertz contends the drivers are taking prayer breaks without clocking out first.

According to the Seattle Times:

Danger Room

Exclusive: Computer Virus Hits U.S. Drone Fleet

A computer virus has infected the cockpits of America's Predator and Reaper drones, logging pilots' every keystroke as they remotely fly missions over Afghanistan and other warzones.

The virus, first detected nearly two weeks ago by the military's Host-Based Security System, has not prevented pilots at Creech Air Force Base in Nevada from flying their missions overseas. Nor have there been any confirmed incidents of classified information being lost or sent to an outside source. But the virus has resisted multiple efforts to remove it from Creech's computers, network security specialists say. And the infection underscores the ongoing security risks in what has become the U.S. military's most important weapons system.

"We keep wiping it off, and it keeps coming back," says a source familiar with the network infection, one of three that told Danger Room about the virus. "We think it's benign. But we just don't know."

Holder's Fast and Furious explanations unraveling

  • By Jim Kouri, Law Enforcement Examiner

As much as they are spinning the Operation Fast and Furious snafu, the most transparent White House in U.S. history is at a loss in protecting the most ideological Attorney General in recent history.

On this week's Fox News Sunday, Congressman Darryl Issa announced that "another round of subpoenas" will be sent out for additional documents regarding an anti-gunrunning operation that ended in tragedy with the death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.

While Attorney General Eric Holder continues to maintain he was kept in the dark by his subordinates,  Senator Chuck Grassley (R-NE) and Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA) yesterday in a joint statement said that Attorney General Eric Holder received at least five weekly memos beginning in July 2010, including four weeks in a row, describing the ill-advised strategy known as Operation Fast and Furious.

More From the Culture of Narcissism

By Star Parker

10/10/2011

I wouldn't think it would be worthwhile to draw attention to the Occupy Wall Street "movement," or its list of demands that wouldn't pass muster in an average kindergarten class.

But if America's president and vice president choose to talk about it, and give it credibility, then it's news.

According to VP Joe Biden, demands such as free college, pay independent of work, a $20 minimum wage (why not $100 or $1000?), and a nation with open borders have legitimacy and "a lot in common with the tea party movement."

Wretches of Wall Street: Protesters accused of living in filth as shocking pictures show one demonstrator defecating on a POLICE CAR

Pigs. And big media is just as disgusting. They defecate on the American people daily. The Tea Party was/is a genuine, organic, distinctly American movement that was defamed, libeled and smeared. Patriots came out by the millions to stand against the coup in the Beltway. The media refused to cover it, and when they did it was to destroy it. Not one arrest, not one.

But this movement (this bowel movement) is pure theater concocted by the Soros/Obama machine, and it is covered by big media with respect and gravitas. The elites and the ruling poltical class have declared war on the American people.

Occupy Wall Street: Blame yourself

October 09, 2011

I'm not surprised I got a question like this from Lawrence O'Donnell on MSNBC. Given the mindset of Mr. O'Donnell and most of his colleagues, it's to be expected that he would cite my statement - that Occupy Wall Street protesters have only themselves to blame if they are unemployed or lacking wealth - and ask if I wanted to apologize for saying so.

Not a chance.

In fact, I would add this: Anyone who abandons these protests and tries taking my advice is almost certain to end up better off. That's because it's empowering to you when you stop blaming other people for your situation, and start taking responsibility for yourself.

Obama attacks banks while raking in Wall Street dough

Despite his rhetorical attacks on Wall Street, a study by the Sunlight Foundation's Influence Project shows that President Barack Obama has received more money from Wall Street than any other politician over the past 20 years, including former President George W. Bush.

In 2008, Wall Street's largesse accounted for 20 percent of Obama's total take, according to Reuters.

When asked by The Daily Caller to comment about President Obama's credibility when it comes to criticizing Wall Street, the White House declined to reply.

Former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer says the distance between the president's rhetoric and actions makes him look hypocritical.

"To cherish and stimulate the activity of the human mind, by multiplying the objects of enterprise, is not among the least considerable of the expedients, by which the wealth of a nation may be promoted." --Alexander Hamilton

Government

Same Leftist protest, different day

"One of my favorite economics essays from which I've drawn bottomless inspiration is Leonard Read's 'I, Pencil.' ... Read traces the family tree of the pencil from the Oregon loggers who harvest its cedar wood, to the California millworkers who cut the wood into thin slats, to Mississippi refinery workers, to the Dutch East Indies farmers who produce an oil used to make erasers. ... Read illuminates: 'There is a fact still more astounding: The absence of a master mind, of anyone dictating or forcibly directing these countless actions which bring me into being. No trace of such a person can be found. Instead, we find the Invisible Hand at work.' ... Appreciating this voluntary configuration of human energies, Read argued, is key to possessing 'an absolutely essential ingredient for freedom: a faith in free people. Freedom is impossible without this faith.' Indeed. Without that faith, we are susceptible to the force of class-warfare mobs and the arrogance of command-and-control bureaucrats in Washington who believe the role of private American entrepreneurs, producers and wealth generators is to 'grow the economy' and who 'think at some point you have made enough money.' The progressives who want to bring down 'Wall Street' will snipe that [Apple co-founder Steve] Jobs was one of 'theirs,' not 'ours.' He belonged to no one. He was transcendently committed to excellence and beauty and innovation. And yes, he made gobs of money pursuing it all while benefiting hundreds of millions of people around the world whom he never met, but who shed a deep river of tears upon learning of his death [last] week. From 'I, Pencil' to iPhone, such is the profound, everlasting miracle of iCapitalism -- a triumph of individualism over collectivism, freedom over force and markets over master planning. To borrow an old Apple slogan: It just works." --columnist Michelle Malkin

Why don't the Wall Street protesters want liberty?

For the Record

"From [his Thursday news] conference we are reminded that Obama believes that: Only 'big and bold' intervention by the government can get an economy moving.... Anyone who disagrees with or opposes him is engaging in partisan politics rather than acting in good faith, on principle and in the best interests of the country. ... It doesn't matter that he famously breached his promise that unemployment would not exceed 8 percent if Congress passed his stimulus bill or that studies show that only 7 percent of the stimulus money went toward infrastructure despite his commitments to the contrary. ... His good intentions also exempt him from accountability on the Solyndra scandal, because his ideology inclines him toward a blind faith in the existence of cataclysmic man-made global warming, which in turn requires him to mandate government subsidization of 'green technologies.' ... He has complete confidence in Eric Holder, so he doesn't need to worry about the facts on 'Fast and Furious,' either.... Thursday, he told us yet again that our economic mess was created by George W. Bush, the Japanese tsunami, the two wars, the Republicans' gamesmanship over the debt ceiling, and Europe's financial instability. ... Our chief executive either is a mastermind at Machiavellian manipulation or has deep psychological and emotional problems. I've never seen an adult in an important leadership position -- especially not the president of the United States -- show such frightening immaturity and self-absorption." --columnist David Limbaugh

Essential Liberty

"Freedom frightens some people. They say if no one is in charge there would be chaos. That is intuitive, but think about a skating rink. Before rinks were invented, if you proposed an amusement in which people strap blades to their feet and skate around on ice at whatever speeds they wish, you'd have been called crazy. There's got to be speed limits, stoplights, turn signals. But we know that people navigate rinks safely on their own. They create their own order, with only minimal rules. Society would work the same way -- and does to a large extent even today. 'Great part of that order which reigns among mankind is not the effect of government,' Thomas Paine, the soul of the American Revolution, wrote. 'It has its origin in the principles of society and the natural constitution of man. ... Common interest (has) a greater influence than the laws of government.'" --columnist John Stossel

Opinion in Brief

"Dan Rather opened a CBS Evening News broadcast in 1991 declaring, 'one in eight American children is going hungry tonight.' Newsweek, the Associated Press and the Boston Globe repeated this statistic, and many others joined the media chorus, with or without that unsubstantiated statistic. When the Centers for Disease Control and the Department of Agriculture examined people from a variety of income levels, however, they found no evidence of malnutrition among those in the lowest income brackets. Nor was there any significant difference in the intake of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients from one income level to another. That should have been the end of that hysteria. But the same 'hunger in America' theme reappeared years later, when Senator John Edwards was running for Vice President. And others have resurrected that same claim, right up to the present day. ... We have now reached the point where the great majority of the people living below the official poverty level have such things as air-conditioning, microwave ovens, either videocassette recorders or DVD players, and own either a car or a truck. Why are such people called 'poor'? Because they meet the arbitrary criteria established by Washington bureaucrats. ... Those who believe in an expansive, nanny state government need a large number of people in 'poverty' to justify their programs. They also need a large number of people dependent on government to provide the votes needed to keep the big nanny state going." --economist Thomas Sowell

The Gipper

"The economic welfare of all our people must ultimately stem not from government programs, but from the wealth created by a vigorous private sector." --Ronald Reagan

Re: The Left

"I agree with the Obama administration's decision to kill the American-born al-Qaeda recruiter Anwar al-Awlaki. What I can't fathom is why the administration agrees with me. ... The Constitution empowers the president to put down insurrection, and what was Awlaki if not an insurrectionist? ... But here's where I am confused. According to Attorney General Eric Holder, the administration is committed to treating captured terrorists as criminals, entitled to all of the rights and privileges of a civilian criminal trial. It seems the Defense Department disagrees, given that some lesser-known prisoners are allegedly kept on ships -- call them floating Gitmos -- without trials. Meanwhile, President Obama keeps ordering that the more famous terrorists be killed on sight. That's fine with me. But as far as I can tell, he's never disagreed with Holder's view about the need for civilian trials for terrorists we don't kill, like Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. ... If captured alive, terrorists pose political problems for Obama. Where do we put them? How do we interrogate them? And, most pressingly, how do we try them? I don't think those are tough questions. But Obama does. So he prefers to kill these people outright, avoiding the questions altogether." --columnist Jonah Goldberg

Political Futures

"In this election cycle, the battle isn't between the old media and the new media anymore. It is between the Tea Party and the GOP establishment. ... But the establishment GOP sees the Tea Party as a threat, for two reasons. First, they think that the Tea Party is more interested in principle than victory. ... Second, the establishment GOP is not aligned with the philosophy of the Tea Party. They like the philosophy of a Democrat-lite: more efficient, effective government, but not necessarily a smaller one. ... When conservatism is politically inconvenient, it sometimes wins (see Reagan) and it sometimes loses (see Goldwater). But when conservatism embraces the politics of convenience, it always loses." --columnist Ben Shapiro

Faith & Family

"Why is it so hard to become a better person? I have -- unfortunately -- come up with 13 reasons. 1. Most people don't particularly want to be good. ... 2. Confusion exists about what goodness is. ... 3. Goodness is not about intentions. ... 4. We don't learn how to be good. ... 5. We think too highly of ourselves. ... 6. We think we will be taken advantage of. ... 7. There are few personal models. ... 8. We don't believe that there are rewards for being good. ... 9. We have to battle our nature. ... 10. 'I'm a victim.' ... 11. Few people were raised to be good people. ... 12. In our formative years, the least impressive are rewarded. ... 13. We have psychological blocks. ... The sad irony is that while goodness is the thing that everyone wants most from everyone else, few people want it most for themselves." --radio talk-show host Dennis Prager

Culture

"All the numbers that are supposed to document the rise of the modern university may only disguise its decline. And obscure the deterioration of liberal education under the care of those who are supposed to be its stewards. Increasingly, college students are expected to know more and more about less and less -- everything about their specialty, not that much about the arts and sciences that compose the core of education, and of civilization. In his preface to 'Culture and Anarchy,' Matthew Arnold said the purpose of education was to pass on 'the best which has been thought and said.' That choice -- between culture and anarchy -- is still before us. Look about at an educational system in which pop culture steadily replaces the real thing, and various new capital-S Studies (Black, Gender, Women's, Ethnic, Gay, Trans-Gender, pick your favorite) supplant traditional disciplines. When the best of what has been thought and said is demoted to just another elective, you have to wonder if anarchy isn't getting the upper hand." --columnist Paul Greenberg

Reader Comments

"In response to Mark Alexander's essay, The Supreme Court and the Future of Liberty, if the Supremes uphold the individual mandate in ObamaCare, then the federal government's power over 'We The People' will be limitless. If the Supremes do not adhere to the United States Constitution and allow the individual mandate, then there will be just one course of action left for those who desire to live free and with their liberties intact rather than live under a tyrannical government. I pray for the sake of my children, for the sake of all Patriotic Americans and those who desire freedom throughout the world, that the worst case scenario can be avoided." --Sherman

"As you said in Friday's Digest, I think Fast and Furious was planned from the top down to get more gun control laws passed. I think Mr. Obama and his henchmen all knew exactly what they were doing and are not lying to cover up. We need to clean out the White House from the top down -- all need to go. I am tired of being lied to as though I am stupid." --Bev

"Fast and Furious was a blatant attempt by the left to promote their anti-gun agenda. Not only did it blow up in their face, but needless deaths have resulted, one that of US border agent Brian Terry. Eric Holder must be held accountable and at minimum charged with lying to Congress. Enough Chicago politics, I'm sick of it!" --Alan

We also asked who our readers support for the GOP nomination. Each candidate had supporters, but it seems that Ron Paul and Herman Cain got the most vocal backing. Thanks to all those who answered.

The Last Word

"Sally Kohn, a self-identified 'community organizer,' praised the Wall Street loiterers on CNN's website, comparing the protest to the Boston Tea Party, which she claimed, 'helped spark the American Revolution,' adding, 'and yes, that protest ultimately turned very violent.' First of all, the Boston Tea Party was nothing like tattooed, body-pierced, sunken-chested 19-year-olds getting in fights with the police for fun. Paul Revere's nighttime raid was intended exclusively to protest a new British tea tax. (The Wall Street protesters would be more likely to fight for a new tax than against one.) ... The Canadian environmental group behind Occupy Wall Street, Adbusters, has compared the Wall Street 'revolutionaries' to America's founding fathers. (Incidentally, those who opposed the American Revolution fled after the war to ... Canada.) The -- again -- Canadians exulted, 'You sense they're drafting a new Declaration of Independence.' ... The tea partiers didn't arrogantly claim to be drafting a new Declaration of Independence. They're perfectly happy with the original. Tea partiers didn't block traffic, sleep on sidewalks, wear ski masks, fight with the police or urinate in public. They read the Constitution, made serious policy arguments, and petitioned the government against Obama's unconstitutional big government policies, especially the stimulus bill and Obamacare. Then they picked up their own trash and quietly went home. Apparently, a lot of them had to be at work in the morning." --columnist Ann Coulter

 National Association For Gun Rights

Last week I told you some well-meaning, but in my opinion very misguided pro-gunners are working to pass a bill that could turn into a Trojan Horse for more gun control.

I was talking about H.R. 822, the so-called "National Reciprocity Act," which could open the flood gates of gun control.

I'm calling it the National CCW Registration Act.

While the idea that all states should recognize a concealed weapons permit is sound public policy, the use of the anti-gun federal bureaucracy to implement it is simply foolish.

Can I count on you to take action RIGHT NOW? Rep. Lamar Smith is the Chairman of the Judiciary Committee that will hear H.R. 822, the National CCW Registration Act.

I need you to call House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith and make clear that you want to keep the government's hands off your permit and that you are opposed to federal intrusion into the concealed weapons permit process.

Once the federal government is in the business of setting the standards for concealed carry permits, it's only a matter of time before they start using that power to restrict our rights.

Now you may hear arguments that this bill doesn't do that, and maybe that's true... for now.

Even worse, once this bill starts moving, anyone can amend the bill with anything... and no legislation can bind a future Congress in any way.

That doesn't count what Obamacrats in the Department of Justice might dream up as the "regulations" to carry out the legislative "intent."

Gun owners have enough trouble with Republican-run Executive branches implementing the law improperly. Does anyone really think the Obama Administration is going to treat gun owners fairly?

I know many of you are frustrated that you can carry in some states but not others -- I'm frustrated, too.

I carry concealed every day, everywhere I go, and have worked to expand the ability of citizens to carry in dozens of states.

I believe I should be able to carry concealed -- without a permit -- in all 50 states. That's what "bear arms" means. Believe me, that's a long-term policy goal for the National Association for Gun Rights.

But mark my words, H.R. 822, the National CCW Registration Act, will become nothing more than a Trojan Horse for even more federal gun control.

I understand that many who support this bill sincerely just want their right to carry respected -- but cannot due to the fact that their state or another won't do the right thing.

But the devil is truly in the details... and the details are where H.R. 822 gets sticky.

This bill isn't just about the right to carry for self defense -- it's a battle over the role of government and the ability to restrict our Second Amendment rights.

Once gun owners let the Obamacrats start mandating whether states recognize permit reciprocity, they will want to mandate what it takes to get and keep those permits.

We're talking about:

  • More onerous standards to acquire a permit, so that only FBI agents can pass muster (look at New York's permit system);
  • Higher fees;
  • More training requirements;
  • A demonstration of "Need" for a permit;
  • More frequent renewal periods;
  • Federally-mandated waiting periods;
  • A national database of all permit holders, accessible by Attorney General Eric Holder;
  • An extensive, federally-created list of Criminal Safezones, where only criminals will carry and where law-abiding gun owners are vulnerable;
  • The list of potential problems is endless.

I need you to call House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith at (202)225-4236 and make clear that you want to keep the government's hands off your permit and that you oppose federal intrusion into the concealed weapons permit process.

I haven't even mentioned that this legislation would shred the Constitutional Carry provisions that are on the books in Arizona, Alaska, Vermont and Wyoming.

It doesn't stop with just concealed carry. They'll co-opt the bill to expand the national Brady Registration Check system to block military veterans with PTSD or individuals with misdemeanor convictions from even OWNING firearms -- much less use them for self defense.

I don't believe the intentions of the bill sponsors are intrinsically bad -- they're just naive and misguided.

Many statists in Washington will co-opt H.R. 822 as part of their grab for more federal power and less individual liberty.

Even now, the statists in Congress are trying to adopt a National ID card, complete with biometric data that they've forced the states to conform to their mandated drivers license "standards." The National Association for Gun Rights has been part of a group of liberty-minded organizations which have passed state legislation forbidding cooperation with a National ID card.

While many in the institutional gun control lobby will tell you this is a step forward for CCW permit holders, make no mistake, the National CCW Registration Act is a misguided attempt to protect our rights. It's like asking the fox to guard the hen house.

They will use this bill as the foundation to create a federal database of CCW permit holders. And then they can link it everywhere the Feds have database connections -- state police, doctors and insurance companies under Obamacare, and Medicaid/Medicare.

I'm sorry, but I refuse to entrust my liberty and privacy to a "trust us, they won't do that" approach to dealing with Obama, the gun-grabbers or frankly most politicians of either party in Washington.

I need you to make some noise, right now!

Here's what you can do to help

1.I need you to call House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith at (202)225-4236 and make clear that you want to keep the government's hands off your permit and you are opposed to federal intrusion into the concealed weapons permit process.

2.Once you've called Chairman Smith, please consider chipping in $15 or $20 to help the National Association for Gun Rights continue to fight the anti-gunners in Washington.

It's imperative that we stop H.R. 822 -- the National CCW Registration Act -- before it gathers steam and support.

Liberal Republicans and so-called "conservative" Democrats are looking for an easy "pro-gun" vote to give them cover before the next election.

A Trojan Horse gun control bill like H.R. 822 is exactly the kind of legislation that will get support on both sides of the aisle in Washington D.C. And remember, the Democrat-controlled Senate has to pass it before it gets to Obama... so this bill will only get worse.

That's why you and I have to make noise, now!

Please call House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith at (202)225-4236 and relay the message that gun owners oppose H.R. 822, the Trojan Horse gun control bill. Make clear that you want to keep the federal government's hands off the state-run CCW permit system.

Thank you for joining me in this important fight against the National CCW Registration Act.

   For Freedom,

   Dudley Brown

P.S. Please call House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith at (202)225-4236 and make clear that you want to keep the government's hands off your permit. Tell him you oppose federal intrusion into the concealed weapons permit process.

Once you've called Chairman Smith, please consider chipping in $15 or $20 to help the National Association for Gun Rights continue to fight the anti-gunners in Washington.

'The black U.S. attorney has common cause with the black criminal'

SELWYN DUKE - According to Department of Justice whistleblower J. Christian Adams, AG Eric Holder has a certain something in his wallet. It is a quotation -- and he has carried it for decades. The transformation of government

HENRY LAMB - Where did governments -- at every level -- get the idea that they are supposed to manage the affairs of their citizens? Governments were first created in America to serve their citizens. The myth of conservatives as mean

GARY BAUER - Are conservatives meaner than liberals? Implicit in the Left's indictment of conservatives as racist, sexist and xenophobic is the idea that conservatives are hateful, angry and just plain mean. Herman Cain is for real

JOSEPH FARAH - It looks like a genuine, home-spun, non-politician, conservative candidate for the Republican presidential nomination is emerging. His name is Herman Cain. And the evidence of the threat he represents to a second term of Barack Obama is clear from the attacks being leveled in his direction by the media, by the Democrats and by the sycophantic entitlement mongers who think government's coercive power should be used to get "their fair share" even though they don't work to earn it... SAVING MEDICARE

Since 1964, our nation's senior citizens have relied on Medicare to ensure access to healthcare. Now the program is going broke -- and it is going broke fast.

It began spending its reserves in 2008 when payouts exceeded dollars collected for the program. [cite]

Predictions for exhaustion of the reserve vary, with 2024 identified by the Social Security Administration in the Trustees 2011 report. [cite]

The Democrat response is to reduce the amount Medicare reimburses physicians for their services. [cite]

This will result in fewer participating physicians and the physicians continuing in the program seeing fewer Medicare patients.

Patients will wait longer and have fewer choices in seeing a doctor.

If this makes access to care sufficiently untenable, or if Medicare does not get on viable financial footing, it will be administered through ObamaCare[cite].

This would include cost controls by a 15-member board of bureaucrats deciding wich treatments, drugs, and surgeries patients can receive.

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), Chairman of the House Committee on the Budget, has a plan which saves Medicare with no disruption to today's seniors and reasonable changes for future retirees.

The Ryan Plan is widely misunderstood and misrepresented. The future of our seniors' healthcare is too important to be decided on misinformation. Here are the facts about Medicare and the Ryan Plan.

The Ryan Plan in a Nutshell

Those currently retired and those close to retirement (55 and over) will see no change from the existing Medicare system. Existing physician reimbursement flaws will be corrected to encourage physicians to continue participating in the system.[cite]

On retirement, those currently under 55 will be provided vouchers from the government to help pay for health insurance. Voucher amounts will be based in part on income, with wealthier individuals receiving less assistance. Risk pools [cite] will be created to ensure that insurance companies will provide coverage to seniors, despite their generally higher use of medical care.

The result is retirees will have a system that gives them options, similar to that which members of Congress use and which will include options similar to Medicare Advantage, the popular plan eliminated by Obamacare. [cite]

The Ryan Plan Incorporates These Important Points

It is important that we

Plan now for changes, to avoid chaos later

The medicare system is running out of money. Change is coming, one way or another.

Pretending we can continue as we are is not an option, it is a recipe for disaster. The longer we wait to make changes, the greater the disruption to current and future retires, the more abruptly the changes will have to be implemented, and the fewer options we will have.

By implementing the Ryan Plan now, we will

  • maintain the existing system for current retirees and for individuals 55 and over
  • provide a sustainable, quality system for future retirees.

It is important that we...

Preserve the existing system, unchanged, for current retirees and workers 55 and older

This bears repeating:

  • Under the Ryan Plan, if you are retired, your Medicare coverage will not change.
  • If you are over 55, Medicare as it exists today will be there for you when you retire.
  • And the Ryan Plan provides for quality health insurance coverage upon retirement for those currently under 55.

It is important that we...

Maintain availability of insurance coverage for future retirees

Since individuals generally require more medical care as they age, it tends to be difficult for older individuals to find private health insurance that will cover them. That is one reason our existing Medicare system is considered so important for many. The Ryan Plan creates risk pools which encourage multiple insurance companies to offer health coverage to those of retirement age.

It is important that we...

Maintain affordability

Individuals have paid into the Medicare system with the promise that coverage will be there for them when they retire. Unfortunately, we are facing an economic crisis in this country and Medicare is a significant part of the problem. To save the system for everyone and to avert broader economic calamity, in the future wealthier Americans will have to bear a greater portion of their healthcare burden.

It is important that we...

Make it feasible for doctors to participate in Medicare

Currently in many areas of the country physicans are reimbursed for Medicare patients at a rate that does not cover their expenses. Recent changes put forth by the Democrats further reduce reimbursement. [cite] This is not sustainable for any business and as a result increasing numbers of physicians are discontinuing their participation in the Medcare program. Patients are finding that their physician is no longer a Medicare provider and when they look for another physician it is increasingly difficult for them to find a Medicare provider who is accepting new patients and can see them in a reasonable time. [cite]. The Ryan plan fixes the reimbursement problem, making it feasible for physicians to continue participating in Medicare.

It is important that we...

Keep medical decisions between patients and doctors, not remote government panels

The Ryan plan harnesses the free market and puts choice in the hands of the patient. Retirees will be able to pick the insurance plan that best meets their needs, applying government vouchers toward premium costs. Medical decisions would be made in consultation with their personal physician, based on the individual's situation and preferences.

On Today's Program

TONIGHT on GBTV: More on the real meaning behind the Occupy protests - where did those 'spontaneous' coordinated hand signals come from and what do they mean? Find out that and much more tonight at 5pm ET only on GBTV.

Occupy Atlanta disses civil rights icon

Congressman John Lewis stopped by to visit Occupy Atlanta's first protest, however things didn't go exactly as he had hoped. No stranger to protests himself, Lewis certainly would have some valuable insight and perhaps motivational words to inspire the crowd with. Instead, a bizarre shout and repeat process began that eventually ended in the dismissal of Lewis. Ouch - what's up with that? Glenn explains on radio today. WATCH

Glenn Beck: our time is coming

Glenn warned Washington politicians - both Democratic and Republican - to be cautions in throwing support behind these radicals. Turning their backs on a Civil Rights icon is just the beginning -- imagine what kind of treatment people like Pelosi and Reid (who voted FOR TARP) will receive from the crowd. We've heard this kind of rhetoric before -- Glenn has more on radio today. WATCH

1791: The vision for restoring America

Glenn announced the official launch of the 1791 clothing line today -- but this is much more than just a shirt. The 1791 line is how Glenn believes regular people everywhere can help fix America's woes -- all net profits will go towards restoring America's history, America's hometowns and families. Similar to Newman's Own, 1791 is Glenn's way of using capitalism for good. Glenn explains the vision on radio today. MORE

Sex, drugs and criminals: Occupy Wall Street getting ugly

A story today revealed the Occupy Wall Street protests have devolved into a shameless display of moral depravity - with shocking (or perhaps not) interviews of protesters claiming to be getting high every day and having sex 'in a tarp' out in plain view. For all the 'tea bagger' jokes the media couldn't resist telling, perhaps they could come up with something this time around? Glenn reacts HERE.

Teaching Capitalism:  Tomorrow on GBTV we have college professors and they are going to teach capitalism. From the professors that are inside this evil system and know what's going on, we're going to have them teach it to you so you can teach it to your college and your kids -- you'll be able to defend it.  You don't want to miss tomorrow's show!If you haven't already, start your free GBTV trial now

Occupy Sacramento: Why are we here?

In a surprisingly candid interview, protesters at Occupy Sacramento admitted to not even knowing why they are there. When asked to elaborate on why they are there organizers said they are still trying to figure that out. Who shows up to a protest when they don't even know what it's about? Glenn reacts on radio.
