WikiLeaks Show WMD Hunt Continued in Iraq - With Surprising ResultsBy Noah Shachtman October 23, 2010 By late 2003, even the Bush White House's staunchest defenders were starting to give up on the idea that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. But WikiLeaks' newly-released Iraq war documents reveal that for years afterward, U.S. troops continued to find chemical weapons labs, encounter insurgent specialists in toxins and uncover weapons of mass destruction. An initial glance at the WikiLeaks war logs doesn't reveal evidence of some massive WMD program by the Saddam Hussein regime - the Bush administration's most (in)famous rationale for invading Iraq. But chemical weapons, especially, did not vanish from the Iraqi battlefield. Remnants of Saddam's toxic arsenal, largely destroyed after the Gulf War, remained. Jihadists, insurgents and foreign (possibly Iranian) agitators turned to these stockpiles during the Iraq conflict - and may have brewed up their own deadly agents. Read more:And from Nathan: So, as you all know, I long maintained that I found significant amounts of chemical weapons in Iraq in a variety of different places contrary to the claims that we "never found any". It was baffling to me and I never understood why it was generally accepted that we didn't find anything when we did. So, reading my daily news I come across this that talks about how wikileaks released documents that show there were plenty of chemical weapons found and none of these specific events refer to the "Al-Kindi Chemical Weapons Complex" where I lived, or referred to Iskanderia where we found a large warehouse filled with 55 gallon drums of stuff that set off our alarms like crazy or any of the other incidents. I've had plenty of people say I'm crazy or a conspiracy nut for refusing to back down on what I know I saw but this article obviously supports my claims.

David Horowitz Luncheon & Book Signing
The Philadelphia Freedom Center is pleased to welcome our mentor and leader, David Horowitz to Philadelphia to speak about his new book, A Point in Time:The Search for Redemption in this Life & the Next.
David shocked the political left when he abandoned 1960s radicalism to become a conservative. Founder and current president of the David Horowitz Freedom Center, David is also founder and editor of FrontPage Magazine. He also founded Students for Academic Freedom, Newsrealblog.com, Discoverthenetworks.com, and is the author of over 20 books.
A Point in Time:
The Search for Redemption in this Life & the Next
Part memoir and part philosophical reflection, A Point in Time focuses on man's inevitable search for meaning - and how for those without religious belief, that search often leads to a faith in historical progress, one that is bound to disappoint. Horowitz agrees with Arcus Aurelius, whose stoic philosophy provides a focal point for the book, "He who has seen present things has seen all, both everything that has taken place from all eternity and everything that will be for time without end..."
Horowitz remembers his father; a political radical who put his faith in just such a redemptive future. He examines this hope through the other great figure who organizes these reflections, the Russian novelist Fyodor Dostoevsky, whose writings foreshadowed the great tragedies of the social revolutions to come. Horowitz draws on eternal themes: the need we have to make sense out of the lives we have been given, our desire to repair the injustices we encounter, and the consequences of our mortality.
Interweaving episodes of his own life with the writings of the philosopher and the novelist, Horowitz explores how we provide meaning to an apparently senseless existence and the dire consequences that follow from seeking to redeem it by attempting to make a perfect world out of the imperfect one in which we find ourselves.

Training for members of Phoenixville and King of Prussia branches
If you're not already aware of it, the "Social Media" have become a routine way of communicating and exchanging ideas. Social media is now widely used - probably every elected representative in the state capitals and in Washington have their own Facebook and use Twitter.
Political action groups make extensive use of them, As do private individuals, companies and non-profit groups.
It's time for our own Tea Party to learn these tools and make use of them. For that reason, we've made arrangements for Daria DiGiovanni to conduct a hands on, how to session.
Daria has worked with a number of Tea Parties, teaching them social media as well as creating their web sites.
Training will be conducted in the King of Prussia area, and will consist of a single, three-hour session. Day and time to be announced. There will be a small cost - we're working out the details, but it's likely to be $10 or less, and will be held within the next 30 days. We don't know if this training will be offered again in the foreseeable future.
Please respond to this email immediately so we can plan and schedule the training.
Send your response to: Louis@APO146.com

General George Washington receives a dispatch from John Hancock, President of the Second Continental Congress, placing the 260-vessel British fleet, hauling 17,000 troops under General William Howe, fifty miles south of the Delaware Capes [May & Henelopen] on 7 August. Unsure and wary of Howe's intentions, Washington immediately halts his force to encamp around the bridge over the Little Neshaminy Creek in Warwick Township, Bucks County. Knowing the area and having ridden through only ten days earlier, he selects the substantial stone dwelling of Widow Moland as his Head Quarters on the farm north of the bridge.

THE BIG PICTURE ON PROPERTY TAX REFORM AND THE COST OF EDUCATING OUR CHILDREN!!
Our round table of three outstanding speakers: Nathan Benfield, David Baldinger and Dr. Richard Brake
THE COST OF EDUCATION GOES UP, UP, UP AND OUR PROPERTY TAXES KEEP GOING UP, UP, UP! WHAT CAN BE DONE TO CHANGE THIS?
No discussion on property tax reform is complete without talking about what it is costing to educate our children and whether or not they are getting the education they deserve, according to Nathan Benfield, Director of Policy Analysis for the Commonwealth Foundation. Nate has researched and written on public policy issues including taxation, government spending, education reform and transportation funding. He has frequently provided testimony to Pennsylvania House and Senate committees on various issues including education.
David Baldinger a full-time volunteer for the Pennsylvania Coalition of Taxpayer Associations (PCTA) will be with us to explain the School Property Tax Elimination Plan that permanently eliminates all school district property taxes as well as eliminating local school district earned income taxes (EIT). PCTA says Statewide, current school district budgets increase, on average, at twice the rate of inflation! And, "no tax should have the power to leave you homeless". David started this work in 2004 and since has become one of PA's leading experts on the subject.
Dr. Richard Brake is the Director of Educational Programs at the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI), a non-profit educational foundation with a mission to "Educate for Liberty"- by inspiring college students to discover and embrace principles that make America prosperous, moral, and free. Dr. Brake lives in Berwyn with his family and is currently an elective member of the TE school board. Dr. Brake has documented the failure of America's top universities to teach students the founding history, texts, and institutions of our constitutional republic. His commentary on this disturbing trend has appeared in media outlets nationwide. |

Thomas Jefferson: "Whensoever the general government assumes undelegated powers....a nullification of the act is the rightful remedy."
But what IS nullification? How does it happen and work? Since September 2010, the Tenth Amendment Center has been hosting a national tour to educate and activate people on this topic. People are learning the constitutional basis, when it's been used in history, and how it is happening around the country and how YOU can stop DC right in your own state.

Judical Watch is Demanding Answers Earlier this month, Judicial Watch, a government/judicial watchdog group based out of Washington, DC, hosted a Voter Fraud panel discussion featuring John Fund, Christian Adams, and King Street/True the Vote leader Catherine Engelbrecht. Here's video from a portion of the event:
 | "The Voter Fraud Threat to Free and Fair Elections" - Part 2 |
But wait, there's more! The really exciting thing Judicial Watch is doing happened just last week when they filed a FOIA lawsuit against the DOJ to obtain records of communications between the Department of Justice and Project Vote Official/former ACORN attorney Estelle Rogers. You can read more about it here. Bottom line..."Judicial Watch is convinced that Project Vote's activities remain a threat to the integrity of our elections. The fact that Project Vote is bullying states to attack election security reforms in order to register Obama's 'Food Stamp Army' comes as no surprise. But it appears that the Obama Justice Department is using the same playbook as Project Vote - to the detriment of clean elections. The American people deserve to know if the nation's highest law enforcement agency has become nothing more than a political tool to help this scandalous ACORN-front group re-elect Barack Obama. Again, this Justice Department can't seem to be bothered to comply with basic open records FOIA law," stated Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.
Be assured, we will be closely watching for any new developments in this case....but in the meantime, if you haven't already volunteered to help uphold free and fair elections by working at the polls WE NEED YOU! There is a critical shortage of polling place workers. We wonder why Project Vote and ACORN get away with their flagrant abuses of our system...it's because we as citizens are allowing it to happen. WE MUST ENGAGE IN THE PROCESS OF OUR ELECTIONS. One way you can engage is by volunteering to work as a poll watcher on Election Day. Please, it is going to take all of us to uphold the integrity of our elections in the days ahead. Get involved now.
We need TTV volunteers for poll watching - Free and fair elections do not happen without citizen involvement. Want to stand up and take action? True the Vote will provide training and support - you just need to take the first step. For more information email info@truethevote.org or go HERE to sign up now!

Awareness of Agenda 21 and Sustainable Development is racing across the nation as citizens in community after community are learning what their city planners are actually up to. As awareness grows, I am receiving more and more calls for tools to help activists fight back. Many complain that elected officials just won't read detailed reports or watch long videos. "Can you give us something that is quick, and easy to read that we can hand out," I'm asked.
So here it is. A one page, quick description of Agenda 21 that fits on one page. I've also included for the back side of your hand out a list of quotes for the perpetrators of Agenda 21 that should back up my brief descriptions.
A word of caution, use this as a starter kit, but do not allow it to be your only knowledge of this very complex subject. To kill it you have to know the facts. Research, know your details; discover the NGO players in your community; identify who is victimized by the policies and recruit them to your fight; and then kill Agenda 21. That's how it must be done. The information below is only your first step. Happy hunting.
What is Sustainable Development?

The next monthly meeting will be on Saturday, October 8th at P J Ryan's, 231 Bridge Street, Phoenixville - 6pm. Radio Talk Show Host Maggie Roddin will do a presentation on U.N. Agenda 21 and have any updates that may have come from the U.N. or local sustainable development . . . don't forget hay is now deemed a pollutant by the EPA . . . no hay, no crops, no animals, no food. We will also be showing a movie on U.N. Agenda 21 at the October 8th meeting.

Pre-Order Atlas Shrugged Now!
Earlier this year, I urged you to go to theaters to see Atlas Shrugged: Part One and share its message of limited government, free markets and individual liberty with family, friends and neighbors. Based on Ayn Rand's classic novel written in 1957, Atlas Shrugged: Part One was immediately celebrated as a "made for Tea Party film." The film is now finally set for its much-anticipated release on DVD. As a FreedomWorks member, you can pre-order a limited edition version of Atlas Shrugged: Part One featuring special bonus features from FreedomWorks. Pre-order It Now! Atlas Shrugged: Part One is set in a not-so-distant future in which government has taken control of businesses, bureaucrats have impose burdensome regulations on the economy and entrepreneurs are rapidly disappearing from society. Their disappearances are all linked to a man named John Galt, a mysterious figure who leaves this desperate world wondering: "Who is John Galt?" I know many of our members were disappointed that Atlas Shrugged: Part One, a film that had been attempted and scrapped numerous times since the novel debuted over 50 years ago, didn't play in a theater in their area. The release of this limited edition FreedomWorks version of Atlas Shrugged: Part One DVD is a great opportunity to own a part of film history. Get It Now. As I've said before, Atlas Shrugged: Part One has the opportunity to introduce millions more around the world to the philosophy of freedom. This DVD is a great gift for family and friends who care about the principles of limited government, free markets and individual liberty. Give A Gift. While activists have many reasons for getting involved in this grassroots movement-TARP, the stimulus, ObamaCare-I know that for me I wasn't initially motivated by a piece of legislation or a midterm election. My conversion happened many years ago when I picked up a dog-eared copy of the 1,000 page tome we know as Ayn Rand's masterpiece, Atlas Shrugged. That's the power of this book and this film. Pre-order It Now. In Liberty, Matt Kibbe President and CEO, FreedomWorks

RedState Morning Briefing
For October 6, 2011
What a funny age in which we live. At a time some are demonizing the successful and the so called 1% at the top, today the whole world is stopping to remember the guy who so profoundly changed the early twenty-first century - Steve Jobs, a man in a class by himself. I begin and end this Morning Briefing today remembering him. In my office where I sit this still, quiet morning I have an iMac, iPhone, iPad, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and Air Port. I am an Apple fan. Guys like me used to be called a cult. But a funny thing happened. Steve Jobs made Apple the world's most popular consumer electronics company. The iPad is the best selling tablet computer. The iPhone is the most popular smart phone. At some point the people who derisively mocked people like me found themselves - perhaps even now they don't know it - the cult of a small fringe of people who found it cool to hate what everyone else is embracing. The minority became the majority and the majority now is the minority. Apple is cool, hits the nostalgic elements of the age, and while seemingly exclusive has become ubiquitous - a feat few can pull off. It says something profound about Steve Jobs that a guy who grew up in the counter culture movement when "the man" and "business", much like today, were not cool went on to redefine what cool is and what culture is through growing a business that now rivals Exxon as the most valuable in the world. Steve Jobs is genius. I grew up in Dubai. I was the only kid in my school who did not have a computer. But I would stay after school playing on the Apple IIe computers and then the IIgs and then the Mac SE. I learned programming, desktop publishing, and a love for writing and music both on computers Steve Jobs created. When I moved back to Louisiana, my parents bought me a PC. I went from Dubai as the only kid in school without a computer to rural Louisiana where I was the only kid in school with a computer. In college, I finally convinced my parents to get me a Mac. I never went back. In our lives, we occasionally come upon geniuses who give us special insight or special creations. Often we do not appreciate their genius until they have departed - like great artists whose value is undiscovered until they die. But then there are the Einsteins, the Edisons, the Disneys, the Picassos, and the Steve Jobses of the world. We not only see them and share with them that which they bring into the world, but we know we are in the presence of someone great. And so it is that much sadder when they depart and deprive us of them. Humanity is selfish, but also glorious. Many of us are sad to see Jobs go because we want more from him, but we appreciate what Steve Jobs gave us in design and ideas and innovation while he walked among us. And now we cheer on his company and his legacy. If there is one story to sum up the life of Steve Jobs and end this note with a smile, consider last night on Twitter. Margie Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church tweeted "Westboro will picket his funeral. He had a huge platform; gave God no glory & taught sin." She tweeted that, according to Twitter, from her iPhone. I wish Steve Jobs' family well. Requiescat in pace
1. Remember Journolist? Why In God's Name Is The GOP Consisting to Let a Journolist Member Moderate a Debate?
Before the MSNBC-Politico Debate, I wondered why in God's name the Republican candidates would bother giving press and air time to a bunch of liberals asking snide questions down their noses to the GOP about issues not one person cares about. After that debate it convinced me the GOP candidates should be more discerning in their debates.
And now, as Ben Domenech notes and I too can confirm, I think the candidates should boycott the Washington Post Bloomberg debate on October 11th. The debate is billed by the Washington Post as "exclusively" about the economy. I had relished them having this debate because a debate for two hours on the economy is precisely what we need.
But sources in multiple campaigns tell me they are really suddenly hacked off by the Washington Post and Bloomberg changing the format. According to the campaigns I have spoken to, they too were under the impression the debate would be exclusively about the economy. Now they are being given the impression that after the first hour the debate will go to other questions.
Now, if you were somewhere under a rock this past week, you will have missed that Bloomberg News has launched an all out assault on Koch Industries for crimes against humanity or some such - an attack premised on a lot of baloney, half-truths, and bad reporting, but done because the Kochs are of the right.
Then there is the Washington Post who posits the man-child Ezra Klein, who has never had a real job in his life outside of left-wing think tanks and subsidized publications, as some sort of business pundit. In other words, the GOP is going to be vetted by a twenty something who actually took to the national airwaves to declare no one pays attention to the constitution because it is so old.
The Washington Post also hosts Greg Sargent, the Democratic Party's official mouthpiece at the Post. The Post hosts Jenn Rubin who claims to be a conservative but has spent the better part of her career at the Post advocating the release of the traitor Jonathan Pollard and routinely bashing Senator Jim DeMint. Then there is Glen Kessler who is the Washington Post's in house "fact checker" where he is too busy leveling attacks at MItt Romney, Rick Perry and others to check facts.
Let's ignore also that this paper ran with the story about the rock in Texas they can't be bothered to get a picture of. (By the way, have you heard about that reporter's criminal record?) Let's instead focus on the debate's actual moderators.

2. Regarding Sarah Palin: "Tell 'Em You're With Tina Fey"
There is a strong notion out there that I do not like Sarah Palin. That actually is not true. There are many of her supporters who I have come to clash with a routine basis and I think the cult of personality that grew up around Sarah Palin became insane and unstable. But I have always liked Sarah Palin and her husband.
At one point I very much wanted Palin to run. In fact, for the longest time I would have preferred to lose with Sarah Palin fighting for liberty than win with one of the candidates pushing a Republican brand of creeping socialism. But it became clear to me she was not running. And as it became clearer and my platform at RedState and elsewhere rose and I said this, more and more of her fans piled on.
There is a lot of news out there and suddenly the twitterverse and media have moved on. Nonetheless, I want to toss out a few thoughts on her.

3. Free Ponies will be the Death of America
Almost six months ago, I lost my job.
Since that time, I have sent out easily over 250 resumes, many of which were sent to law firms where friends were partners. They have netted me a grand total of three interviews. My friends are telling me that for jobs that pay roughly 75% of what I used to make, they are getting over 150 applications. When I graduated from law school, roughly 95% of my graduating class had real jobs. I ran into a recent graduate the other day and she told me that this year, only about 40% of the most recent graduating class is employed. I have never encountered a market this brutal in any field in which I have worked, and the struggle against complete surrender is a daily endeavor.
In the meantime, I have been doing contract work when it is available. It is not nearly enough, but it is miles better than nothing and I am thrilled to have it. When I don't, I sit around for interminable days and fire off more resumes that I am nearly sure will never result in anything. I am hopelessly behind on innumerable bills, including my house and over $160,000 in student loans - so far behind that even if I found permanent work tomorrow, I would never be able to sort out my arrearage. Without the completely undeserved generosity of family and friends, I'm not sure how I'd be eating. When I came out of law school, they were handing out more six figure jobs than they had people available to fill them - now there isn't anything in sight that could even be qualified as full-time. I recently went to Outback steakhouse and applied for a job - which I didn't get because the manager was sure I'd just bail and go back to lawyering any day.

4. This Primary Season Is All About Not Romney
Every week brings another controversy or another debate - and another Republican POTUS front-runner. And once again, the GOP base continues its eternal (and fruitless) search for the Perfect Conservative. Each time a candidate peaks, they stick their foot in their mouth or some issue about their past pops up and they drop in the polls in favor of the next flavor of the month. It was Mitt, then it was Michelle, then it was Rick, and now it's Herman/Herb. Every time a new flavor appears, they either blow their own popularity (cf. Bachmann) or the base picks them apart (cf. Perry).

5. Dear Candidates: An Invitation to Have A Conversation
Follow the link to a letter that will be going out to each campaign for President from me. The campaigns will get additional information beyond what is in this public release, including more expansive information on the media, broadcast information, contact information, etc.
But we want to make this available publicly because of the number of inquiries we're all getting about what we are doing and also to give both the campaigns and their supporters a heads up. We do hope the campaigns will participate and grassroots conservatives will encourage the campaigns to participate.
Thanks.

6. Steve Jobs 1955-2011
Steve Jobs died today after a long battle with cancer. He was 56. Founding NeXT would have been enough to turn anyone into a cult hero in his field. Acquiring Lucasfilm's Graphics Group and turning it into Pixar would have made anyone a respected business leader.
But for Steve Jobs, those were feathers in his cap called Apple, the company he co-founded with Steve Wozniak, and then later saved from extinction by returning to lead it again. He led Apple to its point today as the most valuable corporation in America, measured by public market capitalization. To do that, Jobs had to beat Microsoft and he had to beat IBM. He won in the end.
Far from just a visionary, people from Apple have always said he was a hands-on leader, who had a personal stake in the success of the company and of the products he helped create. Apple ][. Macintosh. NextStep. iMac. MacOS X. iPod. iPhone. iPad. Jobs leaves behind an incredible legacy, and his death will be felt by his industry, and the world. RIP.

U.S. reviews Iraq warning on immunity for troops
By Phil Stewart
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States on Wednesday played down an apparent split with Iraq over legal protections for U.S. troops at the heart of talks on keeping them in the country beyond a year-end deadline for their withdrawal.
Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's shaky coalition government is in negotiations with the United States to keep some of the roughly 43,000 U.S. forces in the country as military trainers, amid concerns about security gaps once American forces leave.
Maliki on Tuesday won more backing from the political blocs in his government to negotiate a deal but without the possibility of granting American troops immunity if they commit crimes.

US 'The Jews Control Wall Street!': 2nd Alleged Wall St. Protester Spews Anti-Semitism
October 5, 2011
Following the story we posted yesterday about a Wall St. protester berating a Jewish man and making anti-Semitic remarks, another video has surfaced today of a man spewing more anti-Jewish hate.
In the video dated October 3, Monday, a grungy-looking man can be seen near the site of the Occupy Wall St. protests screaming to the crowd that "the Jews control Wall Street!"
When a man who claims to be Jewish challenges the alleged protester's remarks, he screams back, "This is not Israel," "Freedom of speech," "Google Wall Street Jew," "You greedy pig," and "Go to Israel!"

A GI in the hills of France takes aim through a rifle scope at a German soldier. Snow cakes the ground and a few bare trees cling to the ground like bony fingers. At the last moment, the German soldier sees his attacker. "Wait," he cries out in a passable accent, "Ich bin an American citizen."
The scenario isn't a particularly implausible one. Any number of Germans did leave to fight on behalf of their country in the first and second world wars. And there was no question of due process on the battlefield. Members of enemy forces who fought against the United States were killed and any precedent set in that regard was set long ago.
Critics of drone attacks call them "assassinations", but there is no difference whatsoever between a soldier sighting an enemy officer through a computer monitor or a rifle scope. There is also no legal distinction between firing a bullet or dropping a bomb or launching a missile. The nature of the projectile or delivery mechanism matters in the tactical and strategic sense, it doesn't matter in any other way. War is war and dead is dead.
If knowing the identity of your target ahead of time is assassination, that is a subjective difference on the battlefield. And Al-Awlaki was not the first enemy officer targeted for death. Excessive nitpckers may raise legal questions about the legality of targeting enemy officers under the rules of war, but anyone who thinks the rules of war apply unilaterally and unequivocally to a terrorist group that does not abide by any rules is a hopeless case anyway.
Anyone who objects to the Al-Awlaki strike on due process grounds should also ask themselves if they would have objected to the strike on Admiral Yamamoto, the man behind Pearl Harbor and the strategic visionary of Japan's naval war, if Yamamoto had managed to pick up American citizenship while in this country.
Should the United States then have practiced a hands off policy on Yamamoto until the war was won and he could be brought to trial? Had we done that, we might not have won the war at all. And if we try to arrest every enemy fighter on the battlefield who ever lied through his teeth while taking the citizenship oath, we'll lose this one too.

Grover Norquist Exposed on House Floor Today
I have long worked to expose Muslim Brotherhood operatives in the GOP, most pointedly Grover Norquist. He wears the mask of "fiscal respomsiblity" and "tax reform" while infiltrating and subverting the party with dirty money and traitorous alliances.
Today, Republican Rep. Frank Wolf outed Grover in Congress. Thank you, Rep. Wolf. Any Republican who associates with Norquist is complicit in the subversion, and should be shunned and exposed.
Norquist has also carried water for Islamic supremacist attempts to weaken anti-terror efforts. Frank Gaffney revealed that "Norquist was also a prime-mover behind efforts to secure one of the Islamists' top pre-9/11 agenda items: the abolition of a section of the 1996 Anti-Terrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act that permits authorities to use what critics call 'secret evidence.' ... Norquist was an honoree at an event held by Sami Al-Arian's National Coalition to Protect Political Freedom in July 2001, two months before 9/11. The award was for being a 'champion of the abolishment movement against secret evidence.'" Al-Arian in 2006 pleaded guilty "conspiracy to make or receive contributions of funds to or for the benefit of Palestinian Islamic Jihad." Palestinian Islamic jihad is even worse than Hamas's; it celebrates the killing of Israeli civilians and calls repeatedly for the destruction of Israel.
Norquist also introduced Nihad Awad, co-founder and executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, to President Bush.

By DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANN
For twenty years - long before 9/11 - the danger of terrorists armed with surface to air missiles shooting at passenger planes has been the secret fear of many top political leaders. In the late 90s, a terrorist network was nabbed trying to bring them into Newark Airport, but the airline industry and the government have done nothing to equip passenger airplanes with any defense against these always deadly missiles.
Now Barack Obama has committed the ultimate sin: He has let 20,000 surface-to-air missiles escape from military depots in Libya. According to ABC News "U.S. officials had once thought there was little chance that terrorists could get their hands on many of the portable surface-to-air missiles that can bring down a commercial jet liner. But now that calculation is out the window, with officials at a recent secret White House meeting reporting that thousands of them have gone missing in Libya." An estimated 20,000 of these...

By Ted Belman* US Secretary of Defense, Leon Panetta, just came to town and warned that Israel is becoming "increasingly isolated" and must restart negotiations with the Palestinian Authority and work to restore relations with Egypt and Turkey. Why? According to Fox News, he said the ongoing upheaval in the Middle East makes it critical for the Israelis to find ways to communicate with other nations in the region in order to have stability. His remarks come on the heels of Bill Clintons attack on Netanyahu for the failure of the peace process and Gates' parting shot according to Elliot Abrams "Gates argued to the president directly that Netanyahu is not only ungrateful, but also endangering his country by refusing to grapple with Israel's growing isolation and with the demographic challenges it faces if it keeps control of the West Bank." This pressure being put on the Netanyahu government reflects the actual Obama policy towards Israel rather than his UN... Read the whole entry » |

Vatican's pact with Islam
Ynetnews special: Italian journalist examines Vatican's submission to political Islam
Giulio Meotti 10.02.11 It has been five years since gave his controversial lectio about Islam at the German University of Regensburg. On September 12th, 2006, Joseph Ratzinger claimed that the god of the Muslims is both transcendental and unreasonable and he severely condemned jihad and the use of violence in the name of Koran. It was the only public event in which a Pope told the truth about some aspects of Islamic religion.
Benedict XVI made himself a central player in the post-9/11 era: His speech against the link between religion and violence, typical of Islam today, was not a mistake or a false step, as some observers wrote at that time. It was, rather, a vigorous attack against certain aspects of Islamic fanaticism.

Back quite a few years ago when the American people were suffering under a despot called King George III they drew up a list of his offenses and told him they were not going to allow his government by fiat to be "destructive" any longer. Now, the Veteran Defenders of America, a group that involves such luminaries as Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely, is pointing out a similar list of offenses. Only this document, "A Declaration to Restore the Constitutional Republic," is addressed to the people.

Murder and violent crime rates were supposed to soar after the Supreme Court struck down Chicago's and Washington, D.C.'s gun control laws. Politicians predicted disaster. "More handguns in the District of Columbia will only lead to more handgun violence," Washington's Mayor Adrian Fenty warned the day the court made its decision. Chicago's Mayor Daley predicted that we would "go back to the Old West, you have a gun and I have a gun and we'll settle it in the streets." The New York Times even editorialized last month about the Supreme Court's "unwise" decision that there is a right for people "to keep guns in the home."

Barack Obama's 55% problem
Oct 05, 2011 06:13 am | Coach Collins
By Kevin "Coach" Collins
These are not good times for the Barack Obama. Everywhere he looks he is sagging and failing. More than this an oddity seems to be hanging over his head that can best be described as his 55% problem. The figure 55% is killing his career.
This man must see the number 55% in his sleep. Polls that show him at 55% and sound good are actually sharp reminders of his falling fortunes not signs of growing popularity. Obama definitely has a 55% problem.
Consider these 55% problems he has:
Poll: 55% of Americans Say Obama One-Term President: A new ABC News/Washington Post poll found that 55% of Americans believe Obama will lose and be a one term president. Poll: American Jewish Committee finding:
The AJC survey of Jewish voters found that while last year 55% of their respondents approved of Obama's economic policies, now a stunning 60% disapprove of his handling ... Continue Reading:Barack Obama's 55% problem

Will Attorney General Eric Holder's perjury cost him his job? Oct 04, 2011 01:32 pm | Coach Collins By Doug Book, staff writer On Monday evening it was learned that US Attorney General Eric Holder lied to a congressional committee while testifying about his knowledge of the Obama Regime's Operation Fast and Furious "Gunwalking" scandal. Memos from Department of Justice operatives directed to Holder himself leave no doubt that the DOJ was receiving constant updates on the Operation as early as mid 2010. During his May 3rd testimony before the Grassley/Issa Congressional Committee, Holder was asked when he had first learned of Operation Fats and Furious. "I'm not sure of the exact date, but I probably heard about Fast and Fruious for the first time over the last few weeks," Holder responded. But that was a lie. Documents detailing the existence and progress of Fast and Furious were directed to Holder by Michael F. Walther, the head of the National Drug Intelligence Center and by his own Assistant AG, Lanny Breuer in 2010. ... "It is necessary for every American, with becoming energy to endeavor to stop the dissemination of principles evidently destructive of the cause for which they have bled. It must be the combined virtue of the rulers and of the people to do this, and to rescue and save their civil and religious rights from the outstretched arm of tyranny, which may appear under any mode or form of government." --Mercy Warren
Editorial Exegesis
Eric Holder's Department of Injustice
"Somewhere, Scooter Libby must be scratching his head. He was indicted and convicted simply because his recall of when a meeting occurred differed from others. He didn't lie about a gun-running operation that led to the deaths of two American agents and at least 200 Mexicans. But Attorney General Eric Holder did, according to memos obtained by CBS News and Fox News. They show Holder lied to Congress on May 2, 2011, when he was asked about when he knew about the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives' Fast and Furious gun-running operation. He told House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa he was 'not sure of the exact date, but I probably learned about Fast and Furious over the last few weeks.' Holder learned of the operation as early as July 2010 in a memo from the director of the National Drug Intelligence Center informing him of an operation run by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force out of the Phoenix ATF office, under which 'straw purchasers are responsible for the purchase of 1,500 firearms that were then supplied to Mexican drug cartels.' ... Holder, quite simply, has lied to Congress, although the defense now being offered is he didn't understand Issa's question, doesn't read all the memos sent to him or was otherwise out of the loop. It is perhaps the first time incompetence has been offered as a defense to possible charges of criminality. ... As Issa told radio talk show host Laura Ingraham last month: 'We have a paper trail of so many people knowing that the only way the attorney general didn't know is he made sure he didn't want to know. ... But if you don't want to know something of this sort, then you shouldn't have the job he has.' We'd go a step further. Baseball star Roger Clemens was equally vehement when he told a House committee in 2008: 'Let me be clear. I have never taken steroids or HGH.' Clemens was indicted for lying to Congress. The same should go for Eric Holder." --Investor's Business Daily

Dear Friend,
Thirty-one states recognize English as their official language, and thirty of those have passed legislation declaring English the official language of the state.
In Pennsylvania, H.B. 361 has recently been introduced in the State House of Representatives by Rep. RoseMarie Swanger. This bill would make English the official language of Pennsylvania. In a House State Government Committee hearing on this issue in September, U.S.ENGLISH Director of Government Relations Tim Schultz testified in support of this legislation.
There is great momentum across Pennsylvania to get this bill enacted... but to ensure this continues, we need your help! Please take a minute to send a pre-written letter to your State Representative encouraging him or her to support this important bill to recognize English as your state's official language. Thank you in advance for your help!

Why Did We Kill Anwar Al-Awlaki and Not Jane Fonda? By Ben Johnson, The White House Watch
|
If Barack Obama ordered Anwar al-Awlaki killed for spreading enemy propaganda, I demand he do the same for Jane Fonda. Obama placed al-Awlaki on a kill list, then checked him off that list, because he spread fundamentalist Islamic propaganda and apparently encouraged several terrorists or would-be jihadists, including Ft. Hood shooter Nidal Hassan and "Underwear Bomber" Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab (who claims al-Awlaki is still alive). Jane Fonda made multiple radio broadcasts reading Communist agitprop written by her North Vietnamese hosts, whom she energized both in person and through photographs. Al-Awlaki spread his poison from Yemen, a nation with which the United States is not (formally) at war; Jane Fonda traveled to North Vietnam at a time when no doubt existed about our state of hostilities or the location of the battlefield. Al-Awlaki proved effective because he knew American popular culture; Jane Fonda was popular culture. If Obama killed Anwar al-Awlaki, shouldn't he be consistent and order the shooting of Jane Fonda, as well?....

Washington Wants a Say Over Your Minister
The Supreme Court weighs whether the feds can decide which church employees are clergy and which aren't.
By MICHAEL W. MCCONNELL
Today, the Obama administration will invite the Supreme Court to open a new front in the culture wars. Hosanna-Tabor Evangelical Lutheran Church and School v. EEOC concerns a commissioned minister, Cheryl Perich, who taught elementary school and led chapel devotions at a small Lutheran school outside Detroit. Ms. Perich became ill and was replaced in the classroom by a substitute. In the middle of the school year she sought to return and then, instead of attempting to work out the dispute through the church's reconciliation process, she threatened to sue.
As relations broke down, the church congregation voted to withdraw her "call" to the ministry, and she ceased to be eligible for her prior job. She sued under the Americans with Disabilities Act, with the support of the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

'Stop Whining'?
Some of the policies most devastating to blacks have come from liberal Democrats.
If there was ever any doubt that the Democrats take the black vote for granted, that doubt should have been put to rest when Barack Obama told the Congressional Black Caucus, "Stop whining!"
Have you ever before heard either a Democratic or a Republican leader tell his party's strongest supporters, "Stop whining"?
Blacks have a lot to complain about, not just about this Democratic administration but about many other Democratic administrations, national and local, over the years.
Unfortunately, black voters, like many other voters, often judge by rhetoric, rather than realities. When it comes to racial rhetoric, the Democrats outdo the Republicans by miles.
Even Ronald Reagan, the great communicator, had problems communicating with black voters, as I pointed out years ago in my book A Personal Odyssey (pages 274-278).
All this came back to me during a recent cleanup of my office, which turned up an old yellowed copy of the New York Times with the following front-page headline: "White-Black Disparity in Income Narrowed in 80's, Census Shows" (July 24, 1992).
How many people in the media have pointed out that the black-white income gap narrowed during the Reagan administration, just as it has widened during the Obama administration? For that matter, how many Republicans have pointed it out?

Urge Co-Sponsorship of A-PLUS Now
|
Government-run programs like No Child Left Behind create a top-down bureaucracy that forces schools to comply with centralized planning, not the needs of their own students.
The A-PLUS Act, which is in the House of Representatives right now, will allow states to opt out of government education programs that make it difficult for them to actually educate children.
>> Call your Representative and urge a co-sponsorship of A-PLUS now.
When you click the link, our system will tell you whether your Representative is a co-sponsor of A-PLUS. Then you can make the call to thank your Representative or ask the office why they aren't on the bill yet.
>> Call your Member: Tell them to cosponsor H.R.2514, the A-PLUS Act.
All Representatives who believe that educating our children is best left to the state and local governments should cosponsor H.R.2514, the A-PLUS Act. By focusing on education - and not bureaucracy - we all win. Make the call now.
Sincerely,
Russ Vought Political Director Heritage Action for America

Source: Tax Foundation
In his latest plan to reduce the national debt, President Obama has proposed a $1.5 trillion tax hike over the next 10 years. The burden would fall mostly on families and small businesses earning more than $250,000 a year.
The President believes these job creators should be taxed higher out of "fairness," and he has proposed the so-called "Buffet Rule," named for billionaire Warren Buffet, to ensure they pay their "fair share." But using "fairness" as a metric for creating tax policy is absurd.
In a new report, The Heritage Foundation's Curtis Dubay says it's important to focus on how much tax high-earning families and businesses already pay. In addition, he asks if forcing them to pay more would in fact be fair to those who would bear the steep burden of the tax hikes.

OCTOBER 5, 2011 What is the President's Constitutional Role in Securing Our Nation? In First-Ever Event, Three Former Attorneys General Answer Since 9/11-indeed, long before then-debate has raged about what role the United States Constitution gives the President, specifically regarding waging war.
Does the President have "the primary direction of national security decisions," as John Yoo argues, "with Congress retaining ample authority to check executive power"?
Or, as others have asserted, did the Framers "intend Congress to play the predominant role in setting national security and foreign policy, with legislative action overriding presidential decision-making"? What role, if any, should the Courts play in the conduct of national security policy?
Join us on October 11 at noon (Eastern time) as we turn our attention to The Constitution and the Common Defense. Whether you join us live or watch online via our free webcast, be sure to RSVP.
This landmark event continues our popular Preserve the Constitution Series. Don't miss this opportunity to hear live from three former United States Attorneys General: Edwin Meese III, who served under President Reagan, along with President Bush's Attorneys General John Ashcroft and Michael Mukasey.
Arguably more than any other armed conflict, the events of September 11, 2001 tested the President's constitutional authority to wage war on behalf of the country.
Whether the issue was the capture and treatment of detainees, interrogation techniques, surveillance, the Geneva Conventions, wiretapping, Guantanamo, or the role of the courts during war time, this conflict unleashed a public debate regarding the role of the President during wartime.
Who ensures America's national security? What role does the Attorney General play in interpreting the Constitution and advising the Commander-in-Chief during wartime? And has that role evolved over time, and why?
Join us for this historic event to hear three former U.S. Attorneys General discuss their views on the Constitution as it pertains to Presidential power and the role of Congress and the Court during wartime.

I wrote to you yesterday about a groundbreaking new campaign from The Heritage Foundation.
This week, Heritage is releasing a first-of-its-kind television ad that will air on Fox News, Fox Business, and other networks. Featured in the ad are Heritage Trustee Steve Forbes and leading Heritage policy expert James Carafano. Have you seen it yet?
With a potential audience of more than 1,000,000 people, Heritage now reaches conservatives in a brand-new way--rallying them together to call on Congress and the White House to cut government spending, stop the liberal assault on our values, and protect our Constitution.
I'm calling on you as a Heritage Member to help us raise the funds needed to cover the costs to film, edit, produce, and air these advertisements. How much we raise will directly affect the number of people we can reach.
Will you help?
Our deadline is midnight, October 6. This will allow us to be ready for the critical last three months of the year--when Congress debates the "super committee" recommendations and the presidential race heats up.
We are so grateful to have you on our side.
Sincerely,
Edwin J. Feulner, Ph.D. President, The Heritage Foundation

Is CBS News Covering Up Fast and Furious for White House? Posted: 05 Oct 2011 03:51 PM PDT (John Hinderaker) Until now, some of the best reporting on Fast and Furious has come from Sharyl Attkisson of CBS News. As we noted yesterday, Attkisson told Laura Ingraham that her reporting has earned the White House's anger: Ingraham: So they were literally screaming at you? Attkisson: Yes. Well the DOJ woman was just yelling at me. The guy from the White House on Friday night literally screamed at me and cussed at me. [Laura: Who was the person? Who was the person at Justice screaming?] Eric Schultz. Oh, the person screaming was [DOJ spokeswoman] Tracy Schmaler, she was yelling not screaming. And the person who screamed at me was Eric Schultz at the White House. ... [The White House and Justice Department] will tell you that I'm the only reporter-as they told me-that is not reasonable. They say the Washington Post is reasonable, the LA Times is reasonable, the New York Times is reasonable, I'm the only one who thinks this is a story, and they think I'm unfair and biased by pursuing it. Everyone else was being "reasonable," but Attkisson was violating the reporters' code by not covering up for a Democratic president. Now it appears that Attkisson's bosses at CBS may be forcing her to be "reasonable" like those other "news" outlets: Today, I called CBS News in an attempt to interview Attkisson. I was told by CBS News senior vice president of communications Sonya McNair that Attkisson would be unavailable for interviews all week. When I asked why Attkisson would be unavailable, McNair would not say. I've also heard from a producer at another media outlet that has previously booked Attkisson that they tried to book her since she made news with the Laura Ingraham interview yesterday. They were also told that she would be unavailable. After our initial conversation earlier today, I called McNair back and left a message with her office. I also sent McNair an email asking whether Attkisson's unavailability has anything to do with reporting that the White House and Justice Department were angry at her. I further asked McNair if the White House or Justice Department contacted CBS News about Attkisson since yesterday. McNair has not responded to my inquiries. We live in a strange era, in which our dominant news organizations consider it their most important function to prevent certain news from reaching the eyes and ears of the public. By the way, if you wondered about Eric Schultz, the White House spokesman who screamed and swore at Attkisson, his bio is here. He is a one-man rogues' gallery: Eric Schultz is headed to the White House communications shop after serving as Communications Director at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) for the 2010 cycle. At the White House, Schultz will directly handle press matters related to the U.S. Department of Justice and investigations held by the House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA). Previously, Schultz handled press for Al Franken's 2008 Senate campaign and was National Press Secretary for the 2008 presidential bid of Sen. John Edwards (D-NC).
Solyndra II, and More Green Jobs Failure Posted: 05 Oct 2011 10:49 AM PDT (John Hinderaker) Emails released by a Congressional committee show, almost unbelievably, that the Obama administration was poised to lend Solyndra another $469 million loan during the summer of 2010, even as auditors "warned the company was in danger of closing due to its rapidly mounting debts and expenses." Analysts in the Office of Management and Budget greeted the proposal for a second loan with gallows humor. One wrote in an email: Possible to close and default on one before closing on a second??? Could be a new record. The Obama administration is becoming a laughingstock even within the federal bureaucracy. In related news, the Inspector General of the Department of Labor released a report on the $500 million green jobs training program that was part of the original "stimulus" act. The IG's findings are not pretty: Read more: Zombies on Wall Street Posted: 05 Oct 2011 04:22 AM PDT (Scott Johnson) The prominent author Edward Jay Epstein is a man of many interests, a few of which are represented in his new ebook, The Money Demons: True Fables of Wall Street. Ed has drawn from the book to explain "why businessmen wear black hats in the movies nowadays." He writes: It is hardly surprising that pop culture protesters in zombie-masks are now intent on occupying Wall Street. For the past decade, Hollywood has been casting financiers as the demonic villains of society. In the multiplexes, businessmen have even replaced terrorists as villains. In the Warner Brothers political thriller Syriana, for example, the villain is not al Qaeda, an enemy state, the mafia, or even a psychotic serial killer. Rather, it's the big oil companies that manipulate terrorism, wars, and social unrest to drive up oil prices. One doesn't need to look far to discover that the root-of-evil corporate villain is hardly atypical of post-Cold War Hollywood. Consider Paramount's 2004 remake of the 1962 classic, The Manchurian Candidate. In the original film, directed by John Frankenheimer, the villain-behind-the-villain is the Soviet Union, whose nefarious agents, with the help of the Chinese Communists, abduct an American soldier in Korea and turn him into a sleeper assassin. In the new version, the venue is transposed from Korea in 1950 to Kuwait in 1991, and the defunct Soviet Union is replaced as the resident evil. The new villain is - you guessed it - the Manchurian Global Corporation, an American company loosely modeled on the Halliburton Corporation.
Read more: More Carbon Offset Epic Fail: From Farce to Homicide Posted: 05 Oct 2011 04:19 AM PDT (Steven Hayward) Last week I posted here a notice about a Nature magazine article exposing how the UN's "Clean Development Mechanism" (CDM)-a prototype for a global cap and trade system for greenhouse gases-was "basically a farce." This week brings news that CDM activities have graduated from farce to homicide. From a European report: The reported killing of 23 Honduran farmers in a dispute with the owners of UN-accredited palm oil plantations in Honduras is forcing the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) executive board to reconsider its stakeholder consultation processes. . . But carbon credits from the plantations can still be freely traded on the EU ETS, which allows polluters to offset their carbon emissions by nominally clean energy investments. Well, that's a relief. At least we're getting the carbon offsets out of this homicidal rampage. Good to know we're saving the planet. Al Gore will be so pleased. And I love this bit:

This is what a mob looks like
|
I am not the first to note the vast differences between the Wall Street protesters and the tea partiers. To name three: The tea partiers have jobs, showers and a point. No one knows what the Wall Street protesters want - as is typical of mobs. They say they want Obama re-elected, but claim to hate "Wall Street." You know, the same Wall Street that gave its largest campaign donation in history to Obama, who, in turn, bailed out the banks and made Goldman Sachs the fourth branch of government.
|
This would be like opposing fattening, processed foods, but cheering Michael Moore - which the protesters also did this week. But to me, the most striking difference between the tea partiers and the "Occupy Wall Street" crowd - besides the smell of patchouli - is how liberal protesters must claim their every gathering is historic and heroic.

Reports: Sarah Palin not running for president By Josh Lederman
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will not run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012, according to multiple reports.
A statement from Palin to supporters obtained by ABC News said that after considering the ramifications on her family, she decided against a run.
"My decision is based upon a review of what common sense conservatives and independents have accomplished, especially over the last year," Palin said in the statement. "I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office - from the nation's governors to congressional seats and the presidency."

Senate Dems quash tax plan in President Obama's jobs package By Alexander Bolton
Senate Democrats have jettisoned President Obama's proposal to raise taxes on families making over $250,000, raising the threshold to $1 million in an attempt to win more Democratic votes.
Democratic leaders say they want to impose a 5 percent surtax on the tax liability of millionaires, which would raise about $445 billion over 10 years - roughly the cost of Obama's jobs proposal.
Even with the overhaul of Obama's jobs package, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said he was not certain it would gain unanimous Democratic support. But Democratic leaders believe the change will broaden the bill's popularity in their caucus.

CBO estimates Obama jobs bill would add $175B in new spending By Erik Wasson
Congressional budget examiners have projected President Obama's jobs bill will increase spending by $175 billion over 10 years. That's less than the White House's $447 billion price tag, but the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office did not include the major tax cuts in Obama's proposal when it offered its score. The figures released by CBO on Wednesday represent a preliminary estimate of the increased stimulus spending in President Obama's jobs proposal. CBO and the Joint Committee on Taxation are still working out the comprehensive cost of the bill, which would include Obama's tax proposals. Obama has proposed that the measure be paid for by a number of tax hikes on the rich and on businesses, but Senate Democrats plan to go in a different direction. Read the complete story here.

Wednesday, October 5, 2011 To: Friends & Supporters From: Gary L. Bauer 2012 Update
- A new CBS poll is making headlines today. According to the poll, Herman Cain is now tied with Mitt Romney in the race for the GOP nomination. Both men are at 17%. Rick Perry is in third place at 12%. No other candidate is in double digits.
- Rick Perry is also making headlines today. According to various reports, Perry raised $17 million in less than 50 days for his presidential campaign from donors in all 50 states. He reportedly retains $15 million cash on hand.
- Politico reported yesterday that lawyers from the law firm of Baker Hostetler have been making calls to various state agencies to determine presidential filing deadlines. Politico notes that Baker Hostetler represents only one potential presidential candidate -- Sarah Palin. If Palin is seriously considering jumping into the race, she has until October 28th to decide.
The Durbin Tax In the wake of the financial crisis, the Democrat-dominated Congress passed the Dodd-Frank bill, imposing massive new regulations on the financial industry. One of the provisions in Dodd-Frank was an amendment added by Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) that reduced certain fees banks charged retailers. These regulations also reduced the banks' bottom lines. Now we're seeing the unintended consequence of big government's interference -- new debit card fees directly passed on to consumers. Bank of America recently announced that it would start charging customers a $5 monthly fee for using their debit cards. Other banks are doing the same. Some are rightly calling the new fees the "Durbin Tax." Desperate to avoid responsibility for their failed policies, Durbin and Obama are again bashing the banks. Durbin took to the Senate floor and urged customers to leave Bank of America. Sensing the chance to attack an institution with a lower approval rating than he has, Barack Obama piled on too. He accused Bank of America of "mistreating" its customers, and added, "You don't have some inherent right just to, you know, get a certain amount of profit." Really? Predictably, Obama called for even more regulation, which I guess he would need if he is going to start setting caps on corporate profitability. Bank of America's stock fell 10% Monday to its lowest level since the financial crisis. If Bank of America loses depositors, what will happen? The government will have to bail out Bank of America again. Think about this for a moment. Do we elect presidents and politicians to bash businesses like the oil industry, the banking industry, the insurance industry or the tourism industry? Do we elect them to impose limits on success in America? Or do we expect them to pursue sound policies that create an environment in which businesses can thrive and create jobs? Friends, I'm not writing this to defend Bank of America's fees. Trust me, I'm frustrated by these new fees too. But I am even more frustrated by socialists who manipulate the free market and then blame businesses and capitalism when their bad ideas go bust. As angry as you may be with Bank of America, put the blame where it belongs -- on Obama and his liberal Democrat allies! Here's the other point I don't want you to miss. Remember when Palestinian mobs attempted to rush Israel's border fences? Days later Obama rhetorically joined the mob threatening Israel's borders by demanding that Israel start negotiations with the Palestinians based on the 1967 borders. Yesterday I told you that the Democrat establishment would embrace and attempt to co-opt the "Occupy Wall Street" movement in order to help Obama's reelection efforts. By attacking Bank of America as he did, Obama rhetorically joined the mob that is now attempting to "occupy Wall Street." Consider this excerpt from Politico:
"It's not bad base politics either. Obama's team has been looking for ways to signal, if not overtly express, its support for a growing wave of anti-Wall Street protests that progressives hope will be the left's answer to the tea party movement."
Now left-wing Democrats are overtly signaling their support for the mob on Wall Street. Wolf v. Norquist One of the misconceptions about Washington is that all politicians are corrupt and only interested in feathering their own nests. I've seen a lot of that over the years, but I have also had the pleasure of working with many principled individuals, genuine public servants, who were often strong men and women of faith. I believe there are more such individuals in office today thanks to the 2010 elections! One of the good guys is Rep. Frank Wolf, who represents a swing district in northern Virginia. Rep. Wolf is a Christian who is close to James Dobson and Chuck Colson. I am proud to call him a good friend. One of the issues he has championed has been the plight of Christians oversees. In fact, I have a daughter who works for Rep. Wolf on religious persecution issues, and I could not be more proud of the work they do! Rep. Wolf is taking fire this morning for having the courage to go to the House floor and raise concerns about one of the conservative movement's most influential figures -- Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform. Whatever you may think of Norquist's no-tax pledge, it has been used as a club to prevent the elimination of special interest tax breaks that riddle the tax code. A perfect example of this are tax credits for ethanol, which are dubious at best and counterproductive at worst. As Rep. Wolf noted, when Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK), a stalwart conservative champion, tried to eliminate ethanol subsidies, Norquist suggested it was equivalent to a tax hike. As I have repeatedly argued, the problem in Washington is not too little revenue but rather too much spending. I am open to tax reform and tax simplification. The best way to do that is to get rid of these sorts of special interest tax breaks. If you hear stories about Rep. Wolf in the days ahead, you need to understand that he is not trying to raise your taxes. He is no RINO. Rep. Wolf has also been deeply concerned about other issues Norquist has been involved that have nothing to do with taxes, such as gambling and alliances he has built with questionable Islamists. I was shocked, and frankly angry, when Norquist suggested that those opposed to the construction of a mosque at Ground Zero (about 75% of the country) were guilty of bigotry. You can find Rep. Wolf's speech here. Quick Hits
- It's not just new debit card fees that are going to cost you more. Your utility rates are about to skyrocket thanks to more government regulation.
- Barack Obama has been berating congressional Republicans for weeks for refusing to take up his latest tax hiking, big spending stimulus bill. To prove who was really stalling the bill, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell went to the Senate floor yesterday and asked for unanimous consent to bring up Obama's bill. Senate Democrat Leader Harry Reid objected!
- Kudos to Morton Klein and the Zionist Organization of America for pointing out how differently President Obama recognizes Jews and Muslims.
According to Klein, Obama's latest Rosh Hashanah message is "addressed strangely to 'everybody,' and ... never actually mentioned 'Jews' or 'Judaism' even once. ...President Obama's August 2010 Ramadan Message ... referred to 'Muslims' six times and to 'Islam' twice, stated that 'American Muslims have made extraordinary contributions to our country,' and praised 'Islam's role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance, and the dignity of all human beings ... a faith known for great diversity and racial equality.'" The contrast couldn't be more striking and is very revealing of Obama's worldview.

Actor Samuel L. Jackson is lashing out at the Tea Party, telling New York Magazine, "I think everything right now is geared toward getting that guy out of office, whatever that means ... It's not politics. It is not economics. It all boils down to pretty much race. It is a shame."
Tea Party caucus member Allen West tells Bill Hemmer that he thinks Samuel L. Jackson needs to pay more attention to promoting the release of his upcoming movie 'The Avengers' and not get concerned with the politics and policies of a failed administration.
"This is not about a person; it's about policies that failed," West said.
On another note, West commented on the state of the GOP presidential race. As Herman Cain continues to gain traction, now tied with Mitt Romney in the polls at 17 percent, West says he is not surprised at his rise in the polls and says, "He is coming forth with common sense solutions to what is happening in our country," and that is what Americans are looking for.

Michelle Obama's Africa Trip Cost More Than $424,142
October 4, 2011
First lady Michelle Obama's family trip to South Africa and Botswana in June cost taxpayers well over $424,000, according to new accounting based on Air Force manifests obtained by Judicial Watch, a taxpayer watchdog group.
The use of Air Force aircraft alone for the June 21-27 trip cost $424,142, said the group, and that doesn't include the food, lodging, and ground transportation for the 21 family and staff members.

Last week I told you some well-meaning, but in my opinion very misguided pro-gunners are working to pass a bill that could turn into a Trojan Horse for more gun control. I was talking about H.R. 822, the so-called "National Reciprocity Act," which could open the flood gates of gun control. I'm calling it the National CCW Registration Act. While the idea that all states should recognize a concealed weapons permit is sound public policy, the use of the anti-gun federal bureaucracy to implement it is simply foolish. Can I count on you to take action RIGHT NOW? Rep. Lamar Smith is the Chairman of the Judiciary Committee that will hear H.R. 822, the National CCW Registration Act. I need you to call House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith and make clear that you want to keep the government's hands off your permit and that you are opposed to federal intrusion into the concealed weapons permit process. Once the federal government is in the business of setting the standards for concealed carry permits, it's only a matter of time before they start using that power to restrict our rights. Now you may hear arguments that this bill doesn't do that, and maybe that's true... for now. Even worse, once this bill starts moving, anyone can amend the bill with anything... and no legislation can bind a future Congress in any way. That doesn't count what Obamacrats in the Department of Justice might dream up as the "regulations" to carry out the legislative "intent." Gun owners have enough trouble with Republican-run Executive branches implementing the law improperly. Does anyone really think the Obama Administration is going to treat gun owners fairly? I know many of you are frustrated that you can carry in some states but not others -- I'm frustrated, too. I carry concealed every day, everywhere I go, and have worked to expand the ability of citizens to carry in dozens of states. I believe I should be able to carry concealed -- without a permit -- in all 50 states. That's what "bear arms" means. Believe me, that's a long-term policy goal for the National Association for Gun Rights. But mark my words, H.R. 822, the National CCW Registration Act, will become nothing more than a Trojan Horse for even more federal gun control. I understand that many who support this bill sincerely just want their right to carry respected -- but cannot due to the fact that their state or another won't do the right thing. But the devil is truly in the details... and the details are where H.R. 822 gets sticky. This bill isn't just about the right to carry for self defense -- it's a battle over the role of government and the ability to restrict our Second Amendment rights. Once gun owners let the Obamacrats start mandating whether states recognize permit reciprocity, they will want to mandate what it takes to get and keep those permits. We're talking about:
- More onerous standards to acquire a permit, so that only FBI agents can pass muster (look at New York's permit system);
- Higher fees;
- More training requirements;
- A demonstration of "Need" for a permit;
- More frequent renewal periods;
- Federally-mandated waiting periods;
- A national database of all permit holders, accessible by Attorney General Eric Holder;
- An extensive, federally-created list of Criminal Safezones, where only criminals will carry and where law-abiding gun owners are vulnerable;
- The list of potential problems is endless.
I need you to call House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith at (202)225-4236 and make clear that you want to keep the government's hands off your permit and that you oppose federal intrusion into the concealed weapons permit process. I haven't even mentioned that this legislation would shred the Constitutional Carry provisions that are on the books in Arizona, Alaska, Vermont and Wyoming. It doesn't stop with just concealed carry. They'll co-opt the bill to expand the national Brady Registration Check system to block military veterans with PTSD or individuals with misdemeanor convictions from even OWNING firearms -- much less use them for self defense. I don't believe the intentions of the bill sponsors are intrinsically bad -- they're just naive and misguided. Many statists in Washington will co-opt H.R. 822 as part of their grab for more federal power and less individual liberty. Even now, the statists in Congress are trying to adopt a National ID card, complete with biometric data that they've forced the states to conform to their mandated drivers license "standards." The National Association for Gun Rights has been part of a group of liberty-minded organizations which have passed state legislation forbidding cooperation with a National ID card. While many in the institutional gun control lobby will tell you this is a step forward for CCW permit holders, make no mistake, the National CCW Registration Act is a misguided attempt to protect our rights. It's like asking the fox to guard the hen house. They will use this bill as the foundation to create a federal database of CCW permit holders. And then they can link it everywhere the Feds have database connections -- state police, doctors and insurance companies under Obamacare, and Medicaid/Medicare. I'm sorry, but I refuse to entrust my liberty and privacy to a "trust us, they won't do that" approach to dealing with Obama, the gun-grabbers or frankly most politicians of either party in Washington. I need you to make some noise, right now! Here's what you can do to help
1.I need you to call House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith at (202)225-4236 and make clear that you want to keep the government's hands off your permit and you are opposed to federal intrusion into the concealed weapons permit process.
2.Once you've called Chairman Smith, please consider chipping in $15 or $20 to help the National Association for Gun Rights continue to fight the anti-gunners in Washington.
It's imperative that we stop H.R. 822 -- the National CCW Registration Act -- before it gathers steam and support. Liberal Republicans and so-called "conservative" Democrats are looking for an easy "pro-gun" vote to give them cover before the next election. A Trojan Horse gun control bill like H.R. 822 is exactly the kind of legislation that will get support on both sides of the aisle in Washington, D.C. And remember, the Democrat-controlled Senate has to pass it before it gets to Obama... so this bill will only get worse. That's why you and I have to make noise, now! Please call House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith at (202)225-4236 and relay the message that gun owners oppose H.R. 822, the Trojan Horse gun control bill. Make clear that you want to keep the federal government's hands off the state-run CCW permit system. Thank you for joining me in this important fight against the National CCW Registration Act. For Freedom, Dudley Brown Executive Director P.S. Please call House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith at (202)225-4236 and make clear that you want to keep the government's hands off your permit. Tell him you oppose federal intrusion into the concealed weapons permit process. Once you've called Chairman Smith, please consider chipping in $15 or $20 to help the National Association for Gun Rights continue to fight the anti-gunners in Washington.

Subject: A COIL OF RAGE
A Coil of Rage
The character of any man is defined by how he treats his mother as the years pass .... need I say more about this person below other than there is no character, no integrity but there is a ton of attitude and arrogance that defines his shallow past and hollow future...
I rest my case..
I bought and read Obama's book, Audacity of Hope. It was difficult to read considering his attitude toward us and everything American. Let me add a phrase he used to describe his attitude toward whites. He harbors a "COIL OF RAGE". His words--not mine.
THIS IS OUR PRESIDENT-- HE'S RUNNING AGAIN, YOU KNOW!
Is anyone out there awake? Everyone of voting age should read these two books by him: Don't buy them, just get them from the library.
From Dreams From My Father:
"I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites."
From Dreams From My Father: "I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my Mother's race."
From Dreams From My Father: "There was something about her that made me wary, a little too sure of herself, maybe and white."
From Dreams From My Father: "It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names."
From Dreams From My Father: "I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa, that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself: the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela."
And FINALLY .......... and most scary:
From Audacity of Hope: "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."
If you have never forwarded an e-mail, now is the time to do so!!! We have someone with this mentality running our GREAT nation! Keep your eye on him and don't blink.
I don't care whether you are a Democrat, a Republican, a Conservative or a Liberal, be aware of the attitude and character of this sitting President.

Susan's Paul Ryan Medicare Pamphlet - please print this and give it to your contacts
SAVING MEDICARE
Since 1964, our nation's senior citizens have relied on Medicare to ensure access to healthcare. Now the program is going broke -- and it is going broke fast.
It began spending its reserves in 2008 when payouts exceeded dollars collected for the program. [cite]
Predictions for exhaustion of the reserve vary, with 2024 identified by the Social Security Administration in the Trustees 2011 report. [cite]
The Democrat response is to reduce the amount Medicare reimburses physicians for their services. [cite]
This will result in fewer participating physicians and the physicians continuing in the program seeing fewer Medicare patients.
Patients will wait longer and have fewer choices in seeing a doctor.
If this makes access to care sufficiently untenable, or if Medicare does not get on viable financial footing, it will be administered through ObamaCare[cite].
This would include cost controls by a 15-member board of bureaucrats deciding wich treatments, drugs, and surgeries patients can receive.
Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), Chairman of the House Committee on the Budget, has a plan which saves Medicare with no disruption to today's seniors and reasonable changes for future retirees.
The Ryan Plan is widely misunderstood and misrepresented. The future of our seniors' healthcare is too important to be decided on misinformation. Here are the facts about Medicare and the Ryan Plan.
The Ryan Plan in a Nutshell
Those currently retired and those close to retirement (55 and over) will see no change from the existing Medicare system. Existing physician reimbursement flaws will be corrected to encourage physicians to continue participating in the system.[cite]
On retirement, those currently under 55 will be provided vouchers from the government to help pay for health insurance. Voucher amounts will be based in part on income, with wealthier individuals receiving less assistance. Risk pools [cite] will be created to ensure that insurance companies will provide coverage to seniors, despite their generally higher use of medical care.
The result is retirees will have a system that gives them options, similar to that which members of Congress use and which will include options similar to Medicare Advantage, the popular plan eliminated by Obamacare. [cite]
The Ryan Plan Incorporates These Important Points
It is important that we
Plan now for changes, to avoid chaos later
The medicare system is running out of money. Change is coming, one way or another.
Pretending we can continue as we are is not an option, it is a recipe for disaster. The longer we wait to make changes, the greater the disruption to current and future retires, the more abruptly the changes will have to be implemented, and the fewer options we will have.
By implementing the Ryan Plan now, we will
- maintain the existing system for current retirees and for individuals 55 and over
- provide a sustainable, quality system for future retirees.
It is important that we...
Preserve the existing system, unchanged, for current retirees and workers 55 and older
This bears repeating:
- Under the Ryan Plan, if you are retired, your Medicare coverage will not change.
- If you are over 55, Medicare as it exists today will be there for you when you retire.
- And the Ryan Plan provides for quality health insurance coverage upon retirement for those currently under 55.
It is important that we...
Maintain availability of insurance coverage for future retirees
Since individuals generally require more medical care as they age, it tends to be difficult for older individuals to find private health insurance that will cover them. That is one reason our existing Medicare system is considered so important for many. The Ryan Plan creates risk pools which encourage multiple insurance companies to offer health coverage to those of retirement age.
It is important that we...
Maintain affordability
Individuals have paid into the Medicare system with the promise that coverage will be there for them when they retire. Unfortunately, we are facing an economic crisis in this country and Medicare is a significant part of the problem. To save the system for everyone and to avert broader economic calamity, in the future wealthier Americans will have to bear a greater portion of their healthcare burden.
It is important that we...
Make it feasible for doctors to participate in Medicare
Currently in many areas of the country physicans are reimbursed for Medicare patients at a rate that does not cover their expenses. Recent changes put forth by the Democrats further reduce reimbursement. [cite] This is not sustainable for any business and as a result increasing numbers of physicians are discontinuing their participation in the Medcare program. Patients are finding that their physician is no longer a Medicare provider and when they look for another physician it is increasingly difficult for them to find a Medicare provider who is accepting new patients and can see them in a reasonable time. [cite]. The Ryan plan fixes the reimbursement problem, making it feasible for physicians to continue participating in Medicare.
It is important that we...
Keep medical decisions between patients and doctors, not remote government panels
The Ryan plan harnesses the free market and puts choice in the hands of the patient. Retirees will be able to pick the insurance plan that best meets their needs, applying government vouchers toward premium costs. Medical decisions would be made in consultation with their personal physician, based on the individual's situation and preferences.
