AP Fact Checks Obama: Are the Rich Really Taxed Less Than Secretaries?

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama makes it sound like there are millionaires all over America paying taxes at lower rates than their secretaries.
"Middle-class families shouldn't pay higher taxes than millionaires and billionaires," Obama said Monday. "That's pretty straightforward. It's hard to argue against that."

Israeli Ambassador to the United States Michael Oren has identified several nations to contact, urging them to vote against the Palestinian Authority's efforts to seek state recognition at both the United Nations Security Council and the UN General Assembly. These nations are France, Spain, Belgium, and the Caribbean Nations. Contact information provided below. He also suggests that we express our appreciations to those nations that have already declared opposition to the Palestinian-Authority unilateral attempt to for state recognition through the UN. These nations include the United States, Canada and Italy. Contact information for these nation are also below.
Meanwhile, there is legislation in the House of Representatives, H.R.2829, known as the United Nations Transparency, Accountability, and Reform Act of 2011 which places conditions on U.S. funding to the UN in order to achieve long awaited reform at that body and to help ensure that U.S. funding is directed only towards programs that further U.S. interests.
Among other things, the legislation: "Directs the Secretary [of State] to withhold U.S. contributions from any U.N. entity that recognizes a Palestinian state or upgrades the status of the Palestinian observer mission at the U.N., the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), the Palestinian Authority (PA), or any other Palestinian administrative organization or governing entity prior to the achievement of a final peace agreement with Israel."
ACTION:
Call or email the Embassies of the nations below and ask them to urge their respective countries to please vote "No" on the issue of a Palestinian state. A Palestinian state declared unilaterally will subvert peace and threaten Israel. It also goes against the Oslo Accords, U.N. Security Council resolutions and international standards.
Also please contact the Embassies of Canada and Italy, as well as our State Department, to thank them for publicly opposing the Palestinian Authority initiative.
Meanwhile, please call your House member to express your support for and urge them to co-sponsor the United Nations Transparency, Accountability, and Reform Act (H.R.2829), introduced by Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL).

BACKGROUND:
· The root of this initiative by the Palestinian Authority is to avoid a negotiated settlement with Israel. A unilateral declaration by the Palestinian Authority demonstrates they are not interested in a negotiated peace with Israel.
· The Palestinian Authority refuses to recognize Israel as the Jewish State and does not accept the formula of "two states for two peoples."
· The Palestinian Authority has entered into a unity agreement with Hamas, recognized by the State Department as a terrorist organization that openly calls for genocide against Jews.
· PA President Mahmoud Abbas and other leading PA officials have declared that no Jews will be allowed to live in a "state of Palestine."
· The Palestinian Authority does not meet the widely accepted criteria for statehood.
· A broad spectrum of Jewish organizations, from the ADL to the ZOA, oppose this UN vote and unilateral declaration and see it as a danger to Israel.

Akhil Reed Amar is a leading Constitutional scholar and the author of America's Constitution: A Biography and The Bill of Rights: Creation and Reconstruction. He has been a member of the Yale Law School faculty since 1985, and is frequently seen on television and heard on the radio commenting on Constitutional issues in the news. In his third lecture at the David Library, Prof. Amar will provide an overview of the lingering problems left unaddressed by the Constitution.

Herman Stern Professor of Law at Temple University's Beasley School of Law. Thursday, December 1st at 7:30PM: Paul Finkelman, "America's Covenant With Death: Slavery and the Founding." Paul Finkelman is the President William McKinley Distinguished Professor of Law and Public Policy, and Senior Fellow in the Government Law Center at Albany Law School. His lecture will explore the relationship of slavery to the American founding, and will examine how slavery was written into the original Constitution, and protected by it.
Thursday, December 8th at 7:30PM: George W. Boudreau, "'A Republic, If You Can Keep It': Benjamin Franklin and the Crafting of the Constitution." The series closes with a talk by an audience favorite, George W. Boudreau, Associate Professor of Humanities and History at the University of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg. Professor Boudreau is Project Director of the "Teaching Franklin" website (http://harrisburg.psu.edu/teachingfranklin/). His lecture will explore Franklin's role in the creation of the Constitution.

2012 Presidential Candidate Selector or Obama, His Allies & Critics Matching Quiz

I read an excellent speech by Congressman Paul Ryan for Constitution Day that really gets to the heart of a lot of issues we have in our country today. Over the last several years, and truly for decades, there has been a massive loss of our Constitutional Liberty in America. While many Presidents and Congresses have been a party to this, never before has it been so rapid as with President Obama and the past Congress.
Congressman Ryan points out that,
Freedom is lost by degrees, and the deepest erosions usually take place during times of economic hardship, when those who favor expanding the sphere of government, abuse a crisis to persuade free citizens that they should trade in a little of their liberty for empty promises of greater economic security.
President Obama and the liberals used the economic crisis to ignore the Constitution. They took power from the States and the people, imposing their big government plans. As we've clearly seen, not only is this unconstitutional, but it was a terrible failure. Congressman Ryan also pointed out that the entire premise of Obama's actions - helping those less fortunate - is better accomplished through the liberty that our Constitution was designed to protect.
What makes our Constitution such an extraordinary document is that, in making the United States the freest civilization in history, the Founders guaranteed that it would become the most prosperous as well. The American system of limited government, low taxes, sound money and the rule of law has done more to help the poor than any other economic system ever designed.
Near the end, he points out something very important not only to remember on Constitution Day, but always - blood has been and continues to be shed for the sake of our Constitution and for our Liberty. For those of you who have friends and family who serve in the military, remember that they are out there defending us, and also the Constitution and the liberty it protects in America.
So I encourage you to hold the front lines for them at home, and keep President Obama and Congress' feet to the fire. Everyone of us knows someone who has paid a dear price for our nation, and we must make elected officials understand that we will not allow them to disrespect that sacrifice by ignoring the Constitution.

The Constitution of the United States, whose adoption we celebrate every Sept. 17, clearly lists the powers of each branch of the national government. Let's take a look at what Barack Obama, like any president, is empowered to do and see if it squares with his actions. In Article II, Section 1, he is sworn to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." Section 2 names the president as commander in chief of the armed forces, grants him the power to make treaties with the advice and consent of the Senate and to appoint ambassadors, federal judges, Cabinet officials and other federal officers. Section 3 says the president "shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed."
In his two years and nine months in office, President Obama has compiled a spectacular record of noncompliance with the Constitution. Here are just some of the ways his administration has failed to execute the laws while using raw, unauthorized power:
The Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA): On Feb. 23, Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. announced that under Mr. Obama's direction, the Justice Department would no longer defend DOMA, which is under attack in several federal courts. DOMA, which was passed by overwhelming majorities in Congress and signed into law by President Clinton in 1996, defines marriage for all federal purposes as the union of a man and a woman and allows states under the full-faith-and-credit clause not to be forced to recognize unions from other states that do not comport with their state marriage laws. Forty-five states have moved to strengthen their marriage laws, with 30 enacting constitutional amendments. Mr. Obama, who has played coy with the marriage issue while aggressively promoting the homosexual agenda, is violating his oath of office to appease the gay lobby.
The 15th Amendment: Under Mr. Obama, the Justice Department has effectively become a race-based enforcement unit. After New Black Panther Party members were caught on tape intimidating voters at a Philadelphia polling place in 2008, the Justice Department declined to defend the convictions and thus sent the message that baton-wielding thuggishness on Election Day is no big deal. Former Justice Department attorney J. Christian Adams, who laid out the case before the U.S. Civil Rights Commission, described the administration's dismissal of charges as "lawless hostility toward equal enforcement of the law."
You need to act before Wednesday. At a time when the Obama Administration is clamoring to save or create jobs, his Department of Labor is about to sucker punch America's job creators with an unprecedented regulatory overreach-all to curry more favor with union bosses.
On Wednesday, the public comment period will be closing on a Department of Labor proposal that the majority of America knows nothing about and even fewer understand.
If enacted as drafted, the union cronies within the Department of Labor will require every private-sector employer and service provider (whether or not they ever talk directly to employees) to file financial statements with the Obama Labor Department if the service provider's services indirectly affect employees' choice to unionize or not.
The DNC's logo for the 2012 convention struck me, when it first came out, as "Soviet chic", a trendy style that's been making its way around leftist protests from Wisconsin to Washington.
With Barack Obama's class warfare speech yesterday, it seems the President's 2012 campaign theme will be to party like its 1917. In a speech right out of a European socialist's playbook, Barack Obama kept referring to basic fairness when demanding job creators pay more in taxes. Consider Obama's online mouthpiece, Think Progress, rushing to his defense by, in essense, saying Obama's plan isn't class warfare because it does not go as far as the Communist Party of Great Britain in 1929.
You actually should read the Think Progress post because actually what the writer claims is "strikingly different from a modern progressive agenda" is actually pretty darn similar, including an income tax to confiscate capital income - something Obama's Buffett tax seems to do.
In any event, what Barack Obama nor any other leftist can answer is one simple question - when the top 1% generate 20% of the income and pay 40% of the taxes in this country, what exactly is their fair share?
But now it gets even worse. Yesterday I told you Obama wants to use General Motors as a distraction from Solyndra. Today it appears he is using Warren Buffett to distract us from raiding banks to line General Motors' pockets, or at least the government's because of the GM bailout.
There is an old adage that defines insanity as "doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results." What's worse than insanity is hypocritical insanity, which may be defined as doing the same thing that your opponent did over and over again, while expecting different results. Unfortunately, that is an apt description of the House GOP leadership of late.
During the 2010 elections, Republicans railed against profligate spending, Obamacare, and growing dependency from things like the Stimulus. Now, they are extending and reauthorizing many of those offensive policies. Last April, they continued the entire Democrat 2010 budget with a CR for FY2011 that cut outlays by a miniscule $352 million. This week, they plan to pass a continuing resolution for FY2012 that will authorize more discretionary spending than their own "Ryan budget" by $24 billion. This will pave the road for passage of an omnibus mega-bill in November - the very sort of reckless budgeting that they lampooned throughout the Pelosi years.
The new Gallup poll of the Republican contenders is out, this time with USA TODAY branding. Just looking at the frontrunners Rick Perry and Mitt Romney in isolation, it looks like Romney is gaining. What I find interesting though is where that support appears to be coming from.
Romney's support may be coming from Michele Bachmann.

ZOA Criticizes Columbia U. for Planning Banquet for Jewish Genocide Promoter & Al-Qaeda Ally Iran's Ahmadinejad, Urges Columbia U. Pres. Bollinger to Cancel Banquet
The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) has criticized the decision by Columbia University in New York to invite Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to a University banquet and has called upon Columbia University president Lee Bollinger to rescind the invitation and cancel the banquet. Ahmadinejad, who has denied the Holocaust, proclaimed that the U.S. and Israel should be wiped off the map and seeks to acquire nuclear weapons and is allied with al-Qaeda, was permitted to address Columbia University in September 2007, despite widespread protest. This time, he is to attend a banquet of Columbia's International Relations Council and Association on September 21, which will also be attended by about 15 students.
In September 2007, Mr. Bollingersaid, in justifying the earlier invitation to Ahmadinejad, that he had insisted that the event would include a session of questions as long as Ahmadinejad's address and that he personally would issue a number of "sharp challenges" to the Iranian leader on his public denial of the murder of European Jews in the Nazi Holocaust, public call for Israel's elimination, support for terrorism, his pursuit of nuclear weapons, the suppression of women's rights and imprisonment of journalists and scholars. On this occasion, however, Ahmadinejad will be a guest at a banquet held in his honor with no public challenges.

Klein said, "We are appalled and disgusted at this morally reprehensible invitation to a banquet being given to the president of a brutally repressive, terrorist-sponsoring outlaw regime who also denies the Holocaust and speaks of wiping off the map the Jewish state of Israel.
"This is a major affront to decent people, especially the Jewish alumni and donors of Columbia University. Under U.S. law, Iran is a state sponsor of terrorism. The U.S. Treasury Department has reported that al-Qaeda uses Iran to transfer money , weapons, and fighters to bases in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Al-Qaeda has murdered thousands of Americans. It's against U.S. law to give any support to a terrorist group or state.
"This invitation is simply unacceptable. Ahmadinejad is only the most vocal of Muslim leaders calling for Israel's elimination, meaning calling for the murder of the Jews of Israel, and uttering obscenities like denying the Nazi genocide of Europe's Jews. What makes Ahmadinejad's repeated calls for and predictions of Israel's destruction so ominous is that his regime is proceeding unhindered towards acquiring nuclear weapons, which would allow him to carry out his dream. Ahmadinejad says repeatedly that no one will stop him.

The attacks of 9/11 had a death toll of 2,977 people. Those were 2,977 innocent men and women that were working - not at war with any Muslims. Of those, 31 were known to be Muslims, and died during the attacks.

In the spring of 1964, while the Vietnam War was underway, the space program had brought close up photos of the moon, and the Beatles were topping the charts; the Arab League convened to try and find a way to complete the ethnic cleansing of Jews from Israel. They had tried it once before in 1948, with incomplete results. The PLO had three tasks, to harass Israel through terror, to cultivate a fifth column inside the country that would come into play in an invasion, and to make it seem as if the Arab world wasn't a bunch of genocidal maniacs, but wanted to destroy Israel in the name of "Palestinian rights".

U.S. Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., was quoted as saying the following just prior to the congressional run-off to replace Anthony Weiner, whose New York City-based seat was eventually won by a non-Jewish candidate last week:
"There are Jews who are trending toward the Republican Party...quite frankly, for economic reasons. They feel they want to protect their wealth, which is why a lot of well-off voters vote for Republicans."
Let's analyze this comment from a Jewish congressman. Waxman is a far-left radical and a supporter of each and every program and foreign policy initiative presented by the Obama administration. His Jewish constituency is the second-highest in the country at 190,000. It's logical to assume he is in the same danger as David Welprin, an Orthodox Jewish Democrat who was handily defeated by non-Jewish Republican Bob Turner in the runoff for Weiner's seat. Forget about Weiner, Welprin or any political party aspect of this election. They are all meaningless. The people came out against Obama and his vitriolic anti-Israel stand.
Waxman wants to make it appear that Jews had no thought of Israel and its horrific treatment by Obama when they touched the screen to vote for a Republican. Waxman is trying to stiff-arm the Jewish concern for Israel until after the 2012 elections, when he himself is in danger of being forced to enter the workplace for the first time since he left law school. For him, that's a scary proposition. But why in the world did he accuse the Jews of voting "to protect their wealth"? Isn't that what people of all faiths do? So why single out Jews? Why stoke up the fires of the age-old Jew-hating mantra of associating Jews with the hoarding of wealth?

There was Ollie in front of God and country getting the third degree, but what he said was stunning!
He was being drilled by a senator, 'Did you not recently spend close to $60,000 for a home security system?'
Ollie replied, 'Yes, I did, Sir.'
The senator continued, trying to get a laugh out of the audience, 'Isn't that just a little excessive?'
'No, sir,' continued Ollie.
'No? And why not?' the senator asked.
'Because the lives of my family and I were threatened, sir.'
'Threatened? By whom?' the senator questioned.
'By a terrorist, sir' Ollie answered.
'Terrorist? What terrorist could possibly scare you that much?'
'His name is Osama bin Laden, sir' Ollie replied.
At this point the senator tried to repeat the name, but couldn't pronounce it, which most people back then probably couldn't. A couple of people laughed at the attempt. Then the senator continued. Why are you so afraid of this man?' the senator asked.
'Because, sir, he is the most evil person alive that I know of', Ollie answered. 'And what do you recommend we do about him?' asked the senator.
'Well, sir, if it was up to me, I would recommend that an assassin team be formed to eliminate him and his men from the face of the earth.'
The senator disagreed with this approach, and that was all that was shown of the clip.

Infiltration of the federal government by members of the radical Muslim Brotherhood is worse than some have warned recently, says a former FBI special agent in Washington.
The agent confirmed that at least three operatives of the Egypt-based Brotherhood - whose credo is "Jihad is our way and death in the cause of Allah is our dream" - have penetrated the Obama administration.
The shocking charge was first leveled by Muslim reformer Tarek Fatah during a recent speech in Toronto.
"When someone says that there is penetration of jihadi Islamists within society, do not dismiss it as some right-wing, xenophobic, racist rant," warned Fatah, a Canadian journalist.
"Today in the White House, there are three members of the Muslim Brotherhood that influence Obama's policy," he told the audience gathered for an IdeaCity conference. "One is Rashad Hassan, who is the American ambassador to the 52-nation Organization of Islamic (Conference)."
Fatah also named "Dalia Mogahed, who writes (Obama's) speeches, who comes from the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt; and another woman, an academic, (who) was appointed in that circle."
Former FBI special agent John Guandolo says Obama's ties to agents for the Muslim Brotherhood are even more extensive.
"The level of penetration in the last three administrations is deep," he said. "For this president, it even goes back to his campaign with Muslim Brotherhood folks working with him then."
Equally alarming, the Brotherhood also has placed several operatives and sympathizers within key positions in Homeland Security and the U.S. military, notes Guandolo, a former Marine Corps officer.
The veteran federal agent says such infiltration threatens national security, because the U.S. leadership of the international Brotherhood has outlined a secret plan to "destroy" the U.S. and other Western governments "from within."
After the 9/11 attacks, he says the FBI discovered the plan written in Arabic among documents seized from the basement of a prominent Brotherhood leader living in a Washington suburb.
Guandolo says the stated Muslim Brotherhood strategy for change "from within" includes the installation of loyal Brothers into political office.
President Obama's top Muslim ambassador, Rashad Hussain, has raised suspicions. He is U.S. special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference, a powerful international group headquartered in Saudi Arabia and closely aligned with the Muslim Brotherhood.
Before first joining the White House as a lawyer, Hussain regularly spoke to Brotherhood front groups and defended Brotherhood leaders like Sami al-Arian. Hussain at first denied defending the convicted terrorist, claiming he was misquoted, but then recanted after Politico.com produced a tape-recording of his remarks.
Recently, he has been overseas encouraging devotion to Islam, including in terror hotspots like Afghanistan.
In fact, Hussain has told Afghans the antidote to Islamic violence "is Islam itself."
"I am of the opinion that one of the strongest tools that you can use to counter radicalization and violent extremism is Islam itself, because Islam rejects violent extremism," he said during a recent speech in Kabul.
Hussain, a devout Muslim, says promotion of the Muslim faith is "key" to the administration's strategy to turn Muslims away from violence.
"We see that as one of the key elements of a strategy to address this type of violence," he said.
The strategy is at odds with what the co-chairmen of the 9/11 Commission recently recommended in their follow-up report on homegrown terror, "Assessing the Terrorist Threat: A Report of the Bipartisan Policy Center's National Security Preparedness Group."
The study found that Islam was motivating terrorists not just abroad, but inside America's Muslim community. And it scolded U.S. leaders for pretending religion is not a factor in growing violence.
Still, Hussain insists: "When it comes to the problem of violent extremism, Islam is not the problem."
Hussain helped draft Obama's conciliatory Cairo speech to Muslims. Also helping with the president's speeches and policies toward Muslims is Mogahed, whose pro-Islamist statements have been posted on the Muslim Brotherhood's website, ikhwanweb.com.
Obama appointed the hijab-wearing Mogahed to the President's Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. On a British television program, Islam Channel, Mogahed defended Shariah law, the barbaric Islamic legal code that treats women as second-class citizens.
Muslim women actually "associate gender justice or justice for women with Shariah compliance," she argued. "It is 'only a small fraction' that associate Shariah with 'oppression of women.'"
She added that Muslims should work to integrate Islamic law into public law.
Another Brotherhood-tied figure influencing the White House is Azizah al-Hibri.
Obama this June appointed her to the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom. A Muslim professor, al-Hibri is also the granddaughter of a sheik, who claims the Saudi criminal justice system is more moral than the American one because it accepts blood money from murderers.
Al-Hibri herself has proclaimed: "Islamic fiqh (law) is deeper and better than Western codes of law."
She served on the advisory board of the American Muslim Council and made joint appearances with its leader Abdurahman Alamoudi. Now defunct, the AMC was a front group for the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood, and Alamoudi was the Brotherhood's top leader in America. He is now behind bars as one of al-Qaida's top fundraisers in America.
Al-Hibri has also made appearances at Islamic Society of North America conferences. The Justice Department says ISNA is a Brotherhood front and recently named the group an unindicted co-conspirator in a plot to provide material support to Hamas terrorists.
Guandolo identified several other Brotherhood-connected agents of influence - all of whom are just as politically savvy and moderate sounding - who have worked their way into government positions, including:
Arif Alikhan, who was assistant Homeland Security secretary for policy development and is now a distinguished visiting professor of homeland security and counterterrorism at the National Defense University.
Syrian-born Kareem Shora, who is Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano's senior policy adviser.
Navy Cmdr. Youssef Aboul-Enein and Jocelyne Cesari, a Muslim convert who previously worked with Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, both of whom teach at colleges within the National Defense University.
Guandolo blames the advances Brotherhood figures on political correctness and lax vetting at government agencies.
Even at the FBI, he notes, an Iranian-born Muslim has taken over the agency's weapons of mass destruction program.
Stung by workplace discrimination lawsuits by Arab and Muslim employees, the FBI has come under pressure to hire more Arab and Muslim agents and language specialists and promote existing ones, while clearing them for higher security levels, according the best-selling book "Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That's Conspiring to Islamize America."
The book cites internal FBI records showing the agency has been sued by no fewer than 14 Arab and Muslim employees since 9/11. Some of the lawsuits have been solicited or aided by the Council on American-Islamic Relations, another Muslim Brotherhood front group. The FBI in 2008 cut off formal outreach with CAIR and its branch offices.
"This is happening as we remain silent. And I say that as a liberal Democrat who worked and campaigned for Barack Obama," said Fatah, a Pakistan-born journalist and activist who founded the moderate Muslim Canadian Congress to fight the spread of "Islamofascism."
"Muslim Mafia" also has prompted a lawsuit from CAIR over the acquisition by the authors of CAIR documents.
In the lawsuit, CAIR, a self-described Muslim civil-rights group, does not defend itself against the book's claims, and the FBI has seized the CAIR material from the Washington law office of one of the attorneys for the authors. A previous filing in the case revealed a federal grand jury is investigating CAIR for possible violation of laws that ban financial dealings with terrorist groups or countries under U.S. sanctions.
As WND reported, CAIR's complaint seeks to expunge all copies of "Muslim Mafia" in an attempt, according to defense lawyers, to eliminate evidence that could lead to criminal prosecution.

ZOA Praises President Obama for Commitment to Veto Palestinian Statehood Bid in U.N. Security Council
The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) has praised and thanked President Barack Obama for his public commitment to veto a Palestinian statehood bid if it reaches the United Nations Security Council. The commitment was made public by Wendy Sherman, the newly confirmed Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs during her Senate confirmation hearing this week.
"The United States is very resolved to a veto threat in the Security Council. What we are very resolved about as well is urging the parties to enter into direct negotiations again ...The President has been very clear that a UN resolution to recognize Palestine will not get us to the two-state solution that both parties seek, and that most of the world seeks," Sherman said at her confirmation hearing. Also, State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said, "I think the president's been clear all along that he opposes this, and has also made clear that the U.S. would oppose such a move firmly in the U.N." ZOA to President Obama: Condemn PLO Amb. Statement - No Jews Allowed in Palestinian State
The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) has urged President Obama to condemn the recent statement by the PLO ambassador to the U.S., Maen Areikat, saying that any future Palestinian state it seeks with help from the United Nations and the U.S. should be free of Jews. In response to a question about the rights of minorities in a future Palestinian state, Areikat said, "I think it would be in the best interest of the two people to be separated." Former U.S. National Security Council official Elliott Abrams said that such a state would be the first to officially prohibit Jews or any other faith since Nazi Germany and that it was a "despicable form of anti-Semitism ... No civilized country would act this way" (Oren Dorell, 'PLO ambassador says Palestinian state should be free of Jews,' USA Today, September 14, 2011).
Areikat's statement is consistent with the view of Mahmoud Abbas and other senior PA officials:
Palestinian Authority (PA) president Mahmoud Abbas: "We have frankly said, and always will say: If there is an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, we won't agree to the presence of one Israeli in it ... when a Palestinian state is established, it would have no Israeli presence in it" (Khaled Abu Toameh, 'Abbas vows: No room for Israelis in Palestinian state,' Jerusalem Post, December 25, 2010).
Ahmed Qurei, former PA prime minister and former PA senior negotiator: "There can be no peace with the presence of these settlement blocs in the West Bank ... the settlers are dangerous and ... it's impossible to live with them ... Peace can be achieved only if Israel withdraws to the last centimeter of the Palestinian territories occupied in 1967" (Khaled Abu Toameh, 'Qurei: No room for Jews in West Bank,' Jerusalem Post, December 13, 2008).
ZOA National President Morton A. Klein, "The PLO ambassador - someone upgraded to that rank due to a decision of the Obama Administration - has reiterated in stark terms the PA position that it intends to create a Palestinian state in which no Jews will be permitted to live. Whereas Israel has a large Arab and Muslim minority, the Palestinians openly demand that their state be judenrein.
"While speaking to Western audiences, Mahmoud Abbas and Salaam Fayyad might rarely - and only rarely - go through the motions of claiming to acknowledge the rights of Jews to live in Israel within the pre-1967 borders or in a future Palestinian state, they have pointedly refused ever to accept Israel as a Jewish state and daily tell their people that Jews are usurpers. In any case, to Arab and Muslim audiences, they are candid that they intend to uproot the hundreds of thousands of Jews living in Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) if and when they obtain their own state.
"The Palestinian demand for a Jew-free state is not only obscene and anti-Semitic in itself, but exposes their rejection of Israel as a Jewish state and thus the reason for the absence of peace. They refuse to accept the truth of the Jewish religious, legal and historical connection to Israel and thus the right of Jews to have their own state in their biblical homeland. They not only refuse to accept Israel as a Jewish state - something they have stated publicly and repeatedly, even to Western audiences - but also insist that no Jews remain in Judea and Samaria. To acknowledge the right of Jews to live in these territories - as Jews are morally as well as legally entitled to do under the terms of the 1920 Sam Remo Conference, a legal right that has never superseded by a subsequent, legally binding agreement - immediately invalidates the PA's rejection of the religious, legal and historical basis of Israel's existence.
"We dare not tolerate the emergence of a racist, anti-Semitic, terrorist state. If the PLO ambassador had announced that a Palestinian state would be closed to all blacks, no-one would accept this and the UN would never approve its creation. Why are things different when it comes to Jews? We should not tolerate this.

The share of total income taxes paid by the top 1% of wage earners rose to 34.27% from 33.71% in 2002. Their income share (not just wages) rose from 16.12% to 16.77%. However, their average tax rate actually dropped from 27.25% down to 24.31%

Generally speaking, generals do not tell lies. Nor are generals in the practice of concocting stories before congressional committees. That is why Air Force Space Command General William Shelton's gutsy and potentially career-ending and provocative testimony to the House Armed Services subcommittee recently should be taken seriously.
General Shelton claims he was pressured to alter prepared congressional testimony, or "say things" he "didn't agree with" that would, in the end, benefit the communications and satellite company, LightSquared, which is funded by major Democratic Party campaign donor, Philip Falcone.
Corruption inside the Obama administration runs rampant. The list of scandals grows longer by the moment, with a new one popping up at an ever-increasing rate. However, the Republican leadership empowers the corruption by refusing to fight. They fear Obama and are resigned to waiting for the buzzer instead of stopping the madness.

I've only recently come to realize the nature of the hurdle this country faces in trying to turn around a stalled economy and horrendous deficit. Here it is: liberal Democrat politicians have fully convinced huge numbers of people that our economic/fiscal mess is the result of two principal demons: 1) "the rich" and 2) the Tea Party. The former, of course, has been a longtime liberal scapegoat; the latter is a new one.
I've realized this painfully in the last few weeks as a result of several commentaries I've done (USA Today, FoxNews, among others), viewed by a large portion of Americans from across the political spectrum....
An affiliate of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) received another $300,000 in taxpayer funding in early August, The Daily Caller has learned.
President Barack Obama's Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded the $300,000 grant to....
Arizona's Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio told WND he has assigned a five-member "Cold Case Posse" to investigate the authenticity of Barack Obama's birth certificate.
The decision, he says, is simply a matter of doing his duty....
Insatiable Obama was at it again this morning! He marched to the microphones in the White House Rose Garden and announced yet another tax on the prosperous. Beyond the seriously disingenuous rhetoric (such as the notion that there is a special, lower tax rate for the wealthy), Obama is demonstrating that he has no ideas that don't include crass class warfare and tax hikes.
For example, the president's signature legislative accomplishment -- ObamaCare -- is full of tax increases. Starting in 2013, individuals earning more than $200,000 will face an additional Medicare surtax of 0.9% on earned income, as well as a 3.8% Medicare tax on investment income. In 2014, the individual mandate is set to kick in, which will impose a tax penalty on individuals who do not purchase health insurance. In 2018, the 40% tax on so-called "Cadillac" health insurance plans takes effect.
Today, Obama introduced his so-called "Buffett rule," designed to make sure that "millionaires and billionaires" like Warren Buffett "pay their fair share." We refuse to call it a "Buffett tax." It is an Obama tax. Rush Limbaugh commented on something that our own crack research team had already discovered.
The Alternative Minimum tax was passed in 1969 because of liberal outrage that there were approximately 150 people who made more than $200,000 a year but paid no federal income taxes due to various legal deductions. The left pushed that alternative tax structure to catch just 150 people! By 2008, nearly 4 million middle and upper class Americans were ensnared by the AMT. That is why many in both parties want to repeal the AMT.
But not Obama! He is doubling down on this terrible concept, proposing another AMT, which will be layered on top of the existing one. I guarantee you it will do the exact same thing as the original version -- in the name of getting the rich, it will also hit the middle class.
The reason is simple: As we have stated before, the rich are not rich enough and there are not enough of them to fund the America that Obama wants to create -- where government directs our lives in exchange for cradle to grave socialism. So inevitably Democrats find ways to make more and more Americans "pay their fair share."
Last week, Obama proposed nearly $500 billion in new tax increases to pay for his latest stimulus spending bill. Today he's upping the ante to $1.5 trillion in new tax hikes. But what Obama has not explained is how small business owners can be expected to grow their companies and hire new employees when he is proposing to take more and more of their income through higher taxes.
One year ago, the overwhelming majority of economists said that the most important thing Congress could do for the economy was to keep tax rates the same for all taxpayers. But every chance he gets, Obama keeps vowing to raise taxes.
While Obama talked about the need for a balanced approach in achieving deficit reduction today, the Washington Times reports that Obama's plan "calls for about $3 in new tax increases for every dollar in additional spending cuts." And, of course, the tax hikes are NOW, while the spending cuts are later.
As I have previously reported, these sorts of "balanced" approaches don't work. Successful fiscal consolidations have relied mostly on spending cuts, not tax increases. Again, the reason is simple: Tax increases destroy investment and job growth, which are essential to creating a growing economy. And a growing economy is the ultimate solution to our budget deficit.
Obama's Rose Garden address today was not a serious deficit reduction plan, but rather a campaign strategy. It is now abundantly clear that Barack Obama is betting his entire reelection on class warfare. If he can convince 51% of the public to hate those above them on the economic scale, he wins in 2012.
Obama is determined to "spread the wealth around." But socialism didn't work in the Soviet Union. Cuba is not a "workers' paradise." And Europe's "nanny states" are teetering on the brink of collapse. What is at stake in just a little more than a year from now is whether America will follow Obama down this dead end road of greed and envy.
Solyndra Scandal Grows
The Solyndra scandal is growing. Friday evening, the Associated Press reported that the Obama Administration restructured the $500 million federal loan to the now defunct company so that private investors would get paid back BEFORE the taxpayers in the event of a bankruptcy. Once again, those paying the bill -- YOU -- are sent to the back of Obama's bus.
Not only may the loan be in violation of a 2005 law intended to protect taxpayers, but the government knew Solyndra was in deep trouble. White House aides were worried about the "optics" of a bankruptcy in which "the administration made a bad investment, not just once ... but twice." Moreover, the Obama Administration had no qualms about wiping out the Chrysler bondholders.
So what was so special about Solyndra? As it turns out, one of Solyndra's biggest investor was a major Obama fundraiser.
Big Week At U.N.
The United Nations is set to vote this week on a resolution calling for the creation of a Palestinian state. While many on the left routinely smear Israel as an "apartheid state," the PLO's representative in Washington told USA Today last week that a future Palestinian state would be Jew-free. That tells you all you need to know about how much of a force for peace the new Palestinian state will be.

In addition, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is coming to America to address the U.N. this week. He has reportedly invited students from Columbia University's International Relations Council and Association to have dinner with him. One student said, "Everyone was really enthusiastic. They're thrilled to have this opportunity." Really?
What has happened to education at Columbia University? I hope those of you reading this daily report haven't sent your children off to Columbia University recently. If so, how much is this "education" costing you?
Would these students be enthusiastic about having dinner with racist David Duke? Would they be thrilled to sit down with mass murderer Slobodan Milosevic? Ahmadinejad is a Holocaust-denier and he plans to execute another Holocaust when he completes his nuclear weapons program.
Today, President Barack Obama is expected to announce his latest plan for reducing the deficit, and central to it are $1.5 trillion in new taxes, aimed predominantly at wealthy Americans. Unfortunately for the 14 million unemployed Americans, the President is continuing down his steady path of ushering in big spending policies, then turning to even higher taxes in order to pay for them. Who ends up paying the price? America's job creators and those on the unemployment line.
It's a "glut the beast" strategy the President has employed before-increase spending as much as possible, and then argue that the only answer to the massive deficits is to increase taxes. Last week, the President played that philosophy to a tee when he unveiled another series of tax hikes intended to pay for more stimulus-his newly unveiled $447 billion American Jobs Act. Not surprisingly, the tax policies the President proposed were more of the same he has offered up since he first took office.
Despite the controversy surrounding bankrupt solar energy company Solyndra, the Obama Administration plans to finalize as many as 14 new loan guarantees for renewable energy companies this month, including nine for solar projects.
To enforce our Constitution's limits on the central government, we believe a formal legal action is necessary. This action, if successful, would require that all members of the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches, first and foremost, abide by their oaths "to support and defend" our Constitution, under penalty of law, and comport with its enumerated limitations on the federal government. The current scope of federal activities provides abundant evidence that many members of those three co-equal branches have long since abandoned their oaths, and, at present, there is no recourse for prosecution to enforce compliance.
To that end, please sign on to this action, and join Patriots across the nation in this effort to establish legal standing as citizens, particularly those in our Armed Services who defend their oaths with blood and life. If we are unsuccessful in our effort to seek remedy for the lack of any proscription against, and penalty for breach of oath, it is because the judiciary refuses any such accountability regarding the wanton violation of our Constitution. Such rejection would in effect render Americans once again condemned to the abuse previously characterized in American history as "Taxation Without Representation."
Our goal is 500,000 signatures, which is minimally necessary because if the federal judiciary refuses to hear this action, then we will take it to the national legislature for codification into federal law. A large support base will be necessary if we are forced to exercise that alternative.

Obama stimulus recipient Solyndra has gone under
"Solyndra was the first company to receive a loan guarantee from the Department of Energy as part of the 2009 stimulus package. This wasn't small potatoes. The loan guarantee was for $535 million. ... As my Washington Examiner colleague David Freddoso reported, an audit of the company performed by PriceWaterhouseCoopers two months before Obama's visit noted that the firm had accumulated losses of $558 million in its five years of existence. The auditor noted that Solyndra 'has suffered recurring losses from operations, negative cash flows since inception and has a net stockholders' deficit that, among other factors, raises substantial doubt about its ability to continue as a going concern.' One of the original investors in Solyndra was Oklahoma billionaire George Kaiser, who was also a major contributor to Obama's 2008 campaign. In early 2011, Kaiser and other investors provided an additional $75 million in financing to Solyndra. They did so on condition, approved by the Energy Department, that they receive priority over previous creditors, including the government. ... But let's assume for the time being that there was no criminal conduct here, no violation of government procedures, no fraud. Let's assume everyone in the administration acted with good faith. There's still a scandal -- the scandal of the government handing out hundreds of millions of dollars to unproven and speculative businesses. ... The organization, led by peacenik and noted anti-pledge activist Marty Rosenthal, seeks to petition town meeting voters in November to urge the school committee to end the requirement that principals in Brookline allow a weekly recitation of the pledge. ... According to reports, Mr. Rosenthal claims the pledge has no educational value and is 'literally and psychologically a loyalty oath, reminiscent of McCarthyism or some horrific totalitarian regimes.' Cleaver: If Obama wasn't president, we would be 'marching on the White House'

Unhappy members of the Congressional Black Caucus "probably would be marching on the White House" if Obama were not president, according to CBC Chairman Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.).
"If [former President] Bill Clinton had been in the White House and had failed to address this problem, we probably would be marching on the White House," Cleaver told "The Miami Herald" in comments published Sunday. "There is a less-volatile reaction in the CBC because nobody wants to do anything that would empower the people who hate the president."
It's always interesting to read predictions of what life and society will be like in the future.
I remember in the 1950s that experts were predicting what America would be like fifty years later. We'd all be wearing clothes made with synthetic material that would never ear out. Cars would fly. There would be no more war and people would be flying all over the solar system.
In 1949, Eric Arthur Blair published his most famous novel under the pen name of George Orwell. 1984 described a socialistic society where the people were constantly watched and monitored by a godlike leader known as Big Brother. Under the totalitarian rule, individuality and reason were considered to be crimes.
The Washington Establishment thought you wouldn't notice a last-minute spending increase. They thought you would be too busy to take action. They were wrong!

Obama Tears Up the Constitution
This column by ACRU Senior Fellow Robert Knight was published September 19, 2011 in The Washington Times. The Constitution of the United States, whose adoption we celebrate every Sept. 17, clearly lists the powers of each branch of the national government. Let's take a look at what Barack Obama, like any president, is empowered to do and see if it squares with his actions. In Article II, Section 1, he is sworn to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." Section 2 names the president as commander in chief of the armed forces, grants him the power to make treaties with the advice and consent of the Senate and to appoint ambassadors, federal judges, Cabinet officials and other federal officers. Section 3 says the president "shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed."
In his two years and nine months in office, President Obama has compiled a spectacular record of noncompliance with the Constitution. Here are just some of the ways his administration has failed to execute the laws while using raw, unauthorized power.
Instead of Obama's Jobs Plan, Pass Something that Will Work

President Barack Obama's first, nearly $1 trillion "stimulus" bill enacted in February, 2009, was intellectually quite shocking for its total devotion to an unreconstructed, 1970s style, college freshman's understanding of Keynesian economics. It had a Rip Van Winkle quality in that it seemed to pretend that nothing had happened since 1980 to prove that the newer, more modern, supply side policies of Reaganomics were what would work to restore booming economic growth.
So Obama and the left wing cabal that now runs the Democrat Party put the entire nation through what seems more and more like an historical reenactment of the 1930s. Obama apparently thinks it is a brilliant political insight to pattern his Presidency after Franklin Roosevelt's, as if the America of today is not fundamentally different or any more sophisticated than the America of the 1930s.
As a result, the experience of the Obama presidency has been to prove one more time what should have been realized by 1940, but what thinking people all knew by 1980: Keynesian economics doesn't work. That is because what drives economic recovery, growth and prosperity is not government spending and deficits, but incentives to produce. Borrowing one trillion dollars out of the economy for the government to spend back into the economy, as in the first Obama stimulus, does nothing to improve or increase those incentives, or expand the economy on net.
This column by ACRU Senior Legal Analyst Jan LaRue was published September 15, 2011 on the American Thinker website. When it comes to Social Security, Republicans should stop treating seniors like the feeble-minded demographic portrayed in commercials written by 13-year-olds on Madison Avenue.
It's like the home security commercial targeting seniors for a medical alert pendant to be worn around the neck. White-haired "Mom" didn't want one because "it was for "some old person." But daughter, seen patting Mom's hand, "talked Mom into it." Next we see "Mom" carrying a basket of laundry down a flight of uncarpeted stairs without holding the handrail. Sure enough, Mom's lying at the bottom of the staircase pressing her alert button because she's fallen, broken her hip and can't get up because "the pain was terrible." "Mom" and daughter are so glad that she was wearing her alert and could summon help.
You expect to see a disclaimer at the end: "Don't try this at home. These are actors who are paid to behave stupidly. You could hurt yourself."
Madison Avenue convinced the marketing geniuses at the security company that they can sell more medical alerts by scaring seniors even if it insults them. I don't patronize a company run by upstarts who think senior is synonymous with senile. I doubt that many seniors do.
Arizona is ground zero for the illegal immigration tidal wave, with nearly half of all illegal border crossings in that state alone. This includes gang members in Mexican drug cartels and criminals fleeing their home countries south of the border. To counter the physical safety concerns and the costs arising from this illegal immigration, Arizona enacted the Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act (S.B. 70) on April 29, 2010. That legislation seeks to use state law enforcement resources to promote more effective enforcement of federal immigration laws in Arizona. The legislation does that through cooperative law enforcement with federal agencies and sanctions expressly designed to parallel federal law.
Nevertheless, for possibly political reasons, the Obama Administration sued the state of Arizona to enjoin the duly enacted state law on its face before it even took effect. The suit alleged the law violated the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution because its provisions were preempted by the Immigration and Nationality Act ("INA").
The Federal District Court granted a preliminary injunction against the key provisions of the Arizona law, and the Ninth Circuit affirmed. On August 10, 2011, Arizona filed a petition for a writ of certiorari with the United States Supreme Court asking it to review these decisions. On September 9, 2011, the American Civil Rights Union filed an amicus curiae brief with the Supreme Court in support of Arizona, asking the Court to grant the petition and review the case. The ACRU argued that this was an important case presenting fundamental questions of federalism under the Constitution, and that the Ninth Circuit ruling was wrongly decided.
Many students believe that it is moral to confiscate money from hard-working Americans and entrepreneurs and give it to those who didn't earn it, yet don't support the same philosophy when it is applied to their GPA scores.
"If elected, will you support legislation to end union officials' special immunity from prosecution presently enjoyed under the federal Hobbs Anti-Extortion statute?"
That's one of nine simple but vital questions included on the National Right to Work Committee's 2012 Presidential Survey.
You see, union officials enjoy a loophole that exempts them from federal prosecution for acts of violence and vandalism they orchestrate in the so-called "pursuit of legitimate union objectives."
The recent acts of militancy from Longshoremen union thugs in Washington State -- who reportedly held security guards hostage and threatened police officers with baseball bats -- highlight the need for the Freedom from Union Violence Act, which would close the loophole.

Dan Lungren (R-CA) last week introduced the "Legal Agricultural Workforce Act," legislation that would create a large new agricultural guest worker program in addition to existing guest worker programs. (See H.R. 2895) Rep. Lungren's bill would create a new "W" visa program to admit foreign agricultural labor as an alternative to both the current H-2A guest worker program and to Rep. When is it okay to compromise, and should voters hold even the most conservative lawmakers to account for their seemingly wayward votes? Heritage Action, which issues a congressional scorecard based on each member's voting record, seeks to measure how much each representative sticks to his conservative principles, which doesn't always make everyone happy.
Last week, Rep. Geoff Davis, a Kentucky Republican, spoke harshly of the group, the activist arm of The Heritage Foundation, calling it "a self-interested fundraising group." Naturally, Heritage Action leaders Tim Chapman and Michael Needham took issue with Davis' assessment. You can hear them defend their motives and methods in my most recent Leaders interview.
Calling Americans "Sons of Bitches" and threatening to "take us out" is entirely in line with the low rent character of Jimmy Hoffa junior. Having been raised at the knee of a criminal who specialized in extortion theft and betrayal of those who depended on him, Hoffa is a rotten apple who did not fall far from the poison tree.
Since his rise to power on the backs of other, equally as corrupt but less cunning and soulless, Teamster Union thugs Hoffa has always wallowed in whatever mud he had to in order to line his pockets. Except for one semester in college when jobs were scarce and a six-month period when I was between jobs, but job-hunting every day, I've worked hardsince I was 18. Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven't called in sick in seven or eight years. I make a good salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, there's no retirement in sight, and I'm tired. Very tired. I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it. I'm tired of being told that I have to pay more taxes to "keep people in their homes." Sure, if they lost their jobs or got sick, I'm willing to help.. I think it's very cool that we have a black president and that a black child is doing her homework at the desk where Lincoln wrote the Emancipation Proclamation. I just wish the black president was Condi Rice, or someone who believes more in freedom and the individual and less arrogantly of an all-knowing government. I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let Saudi Arabia use our oil money to fund mosques and mandrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in America , while no American group is allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia to teach love and tolerance. I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate. My wife and I live in a two-bedroom apartment and carpool together five miles to our jobs. We also own a three-bedroom condo where our daughter and granddaughter live. Our carbon footprint is about 5% of Al Gore's, and if you're greener than Gore, you're green enough. I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses while they tried to fight it off? I don't think Gay people choose to be Gay, but I #@*# sure think druggies chose to take drugs. And I'm tired of harassment from cool people treating me like a freak when I tell them I never tried marijuana. Calling drug dealers, "Undocumented Pharmacists"? And, no, I'm not against Hispanics. Most of them are Catholic, and it's been a few hundred years since Catholics wanted to kill me for my religion. Then we'll compare notes. British and American soldiers are the only troops in history that civilians came to for help and handouts, instead of hiding from in fear. And I'm tired of people telling me we need bipartisanship. I live in Illinois , where the " Illinois Combine" of Democrats has worked to loot the public for years. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor. Speaking of poor, I'm tired of hearing people with air-conditioned homes, color TVs and two cars called poor. The majority of Americans didn't have that in 1970, but we didn't know we were "poor." The poverty pimps have to keep changing the definition of poor to keep the dollars flowing. I'm real tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and actions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination or big-whatever for their problems. Yes, I'm tired. But I'm also glad to be 63 +. Because, mostly, I'm not going to have to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for my granddaughter. Robert A. [Madison, Wisc...] Thousands of liberal political activists, gathered here Saturday for an annual conference, cheered and laughed as a speaker recounted the recent assault of a GOP lawmaker. The crowd attending the Fighting Bob Fest also rejoiced at the suggestion that protesters, instead of dumping beer over the heads of Republicans, should urinate on them.
"This is Wisconsin, this is the place where you had some guy pour a beer on the head of a Republican State Senator?" said Fest speaker Greg Palast as the crowd erupted with cheers. "No, no, no, that's all wrong. You can't do that. That's just wrong. I'm from New York. If you're going to pour beer on a Republican, you have to drink it first."
The crowd can then be heard breaking out in loud and sustained cheers and laughter.
Madison Police on Friday cited Miles Kristan, commonly referred to as 'Pink Dress Guy' with disorderly conduct for an incident that occurred Wednesday evening. According to police reports, Kristan dumped a beer over State Representative Robin Vos (R-Rochester) and two of his colleagues GOP Reps Scott Suder (Abbotsford) and John Nygren (Marinette) at the Inn on the Park hotel bar and restaurant.
The incident has brought to a head concerns by conservatives in Madison that law enforcement there have not taken threats to public safety seriously. Many on the Left, however, have openly mocked the incident as humorous and minimal, although most of this has come in the form of facebook and twitter postings and none in such a public fashion as Palast, an author and freelance journalist, brazenly did on Saturday. Ok, let me get this straight. These marxists used Twitter to organize a rally against capitalism on their Apple computers and devices. Then they threw on their Che Guevara t-shirts they picked up at the mall yesterday, kissing their parents before heading out the door..... did they stop at McDonalds to grab a quick bite to eat before showing up to the join the other 50 or so anti-capitalists?.
Funny that [these are] people who enjoy all the things that capitalism has brought to humans, including lifting more people out of poverty than any other poli-economic system has in the world.
The real reason why marxism/socialism/communism/leninism will never take place in America: People like going to work, earning a paycheck, owning a house, a car, computers, cellphones, [using the] internet and other spoils of a capitalist country.
The only way to usher in this revolution is to destroy the proletariat (middle class) ... Wall Street Protest Begins, With Demonstrators Blocked

For months the protesters had planned to descend on Wall Street on a Saturday and occupy parts of it as an expression of anger over a financial system that they say favors the rich and powerful at the expense of ordinary citizens.
As it turned out, the demonstrators found much of their target off limits on Saturday as the city shut down sections of Wall Street near the New York Stock Exchange and Federal Hall well before their arrival.
By 10 a.m., metal barricades manned by police officers ringed the blocks of Wall Street between Broadway and William Street to the east. (In a statement, Paul J. Browne, the Police Department's chief spokesman said, "A protest area was established on Broad Street at Exchange Street, next to the stock exchange, but protesters elected not to use it.")

President Barack Obama said on Saturday that Americans need to be ready to "pay their fair share" to narrow the deficit, previewing his proposals to Congress that are expected to include more taxes on the rich.
In his weekly radio and video address, the Democrat said his $447 billion jobs plan that features tax breaks for workers and small businesses, plus funds for public works projects and schools, "will not add to the deficit. It will be paid for."
The United Auto Workers union won $5,000 signing bonuses and the possibility of sweeter profit-sharing checks as part of a new four-year contract with General Motors Co., two people briefed on the talks said Saturday.
The deal, which was reached late Friday, also includes a $2- to $3-per-hour pay raise for entry-level workers over the life of the contract and guarantees of more union jobs, the people said.

President Obama's smooth path to the Democratic nomination may have gotten rockier Monday, after a group of liberal leaders, including former presidential candidate Ralph Nader, announced plans to challenge the incumbent in primaries next year.
The group said the goal is to offer up a handful of candidates from various fields and areas where the president either has failed to stake out a "progressive" position or where he has "drifted toward the corporatist right."

Since 1964, our nation's senior citizens have relied on Medicare to ensure access to healthcare. Now the program is going broke -- and it is going broke fast.
It began spending its reserves in 2008 when payouts exceeded dollars collected for the program. [cite]
Predictions for exhaustion of the reserve vary, with 2024 identified by the Social Security Administration in the Trustees 2011 report. [cite]
The Democrat response is to reduce the amount Medicare reimburses physicians for their services. [cite]
This will result in fewer participating physicians and the physicians continuing in the program seeing fewer Medicare patients.
Patients will wait longer and have fewer choices in seeing a doctor.
If this makes access to care sufficiently untenable, or if Medicare does not get on viable financial footing, it will be administered through ObamaCare[cite].
This would include cost controls by a 15-member board of bureaucrats deciding wich treatments, drugs, and surgeries patients can receive.
Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), Chairman of the House Committee on the Budget, has a plan which saves Medicare with no disruption to today's seniors and reasonable changes for future retirees.

The Ryan Plan in a Nutshell
Those currently retired and those close to retirement (55 and over) will see no change from the existing Medicare system. Existing physician reimbursement flaws will be corrected to encourage physicians to continue participating in the system.[cite]
On retirement, those currently under 55 will be provided vouchers from the government to help pay for health insurance. Voucher amounts will be based in part on income, with wealthier individuals receiving less assistance. Occupy Wall Street protest FAIL
The attempt by radical leftists, communists, socialists, anarchists and more to occupy Wall Street didn't go as well as they hoped it would. A little short on the protesters and a little short on the 'occupation' part of the promised action to camp out and occupy Wall Street. NYPD basically shut that option down before they got there and the group was forced to hold the protest at an American Indian Museum. Bummer. But should they be dismissed because of this failure? Grey-Haired Brigade
They like to refer to us as senior citizens, old fogies, geezers, and in some cases dinosaurs. Some of us are "Baby Boomers" getting ready to retire. Others have been retired for some time. We walk a little slower these days and our eyes and hearing are not what they once were.
We have worked hard, raised our children, worshipped our God and grown old together. Yes, we are the ones some refer to as being over the hill, and that is probably true. But before writing us off completely, there are a few things that need to be taken into consideration.
In school we studied English, history, math, and science which enabled us to lead America into the technological age. Most of us remember what outhouses were, many of us with firsthand experience. We remember the days of telephone party-lines, 25 cent gasoline, and milk and ice being delivered to our homes. For those of you who don't know what an icebox is, today they are electric and referred to as refrigerators. A few even remember when cars were started with a crank. Yes, we lived those days.
We are probably considered old fashioned and out-dated by many. But there are a few things you need to remember before completely writing us off. We won World War II, fought in Korea and Viet Nam . We can quote The Pledge of Allegiance, and know where to place our hand while doing so. We wore the uniform of our country with pride and lost many friends on the battlefield. We didn't fight for the Socialist States of America , we fought for the "Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave." We wore different uniforms but carried the same flag. We know the words to the Star Spangled Banner, America , and America the Beautiful by heart, and you may even see some tears running down our cheeks as we sing. We have lived what many of you have only read about in history books and we feel no obligation to apologize to anyone for America .
Yes, we are old and slow these days but rest assured, we have at least one good fight left in us. We have loved this country, fought for it, and died for it, and now we are going to save it. It is our country and nobody is going to take it away from us. We took oaths to defend America against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and that is an oath we plan to keep. There are those who want to destroy this land we love but, like our founders, there is no way we are going to remain silent.
It was the young people of this nation who elected Obama and the Democratic Congress.
You fell for the "Hope and Change" which in reality was nothing but "Hype and Lies." You have tasted socialism and seen evil face to face, and have found you don't like it after all. You make a lot of noise, but most are all too interested in their careers or "Climbing the Social Ladder" to be involved in such mundane things as patriotism and voting. Many of those who fell for the "Great Lie" in 2008 are now having buyer's remorse. With all the education we gave you, you didn't have sense enough to see through the lies and instead drank the 'Cool-Aid.' Now you're paying the price and complaining about it. No jobs, lost mortgages, higher taxes, and less freedom. This is what you voted for and this is what you got. We entrusted you with the Torch of Liberty and you traded it for a paycheck and a fancy house.
Well, don't worry youngsters, the Grey Haired Brigade is here, and in 2012 we are going to take back our nation. We may drive a little slower than you would like but we get where we're going, and in 2012 we're going to the polls by the millions. This land does not belong to the man in theWhite House nor to the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. It belongs to "We the People" and "We the People" plan to reclaim our land and our freedom. We hope this time you will do a better job of preserving it and passing it along to our grandchildren. So the next time you have the chance to say the Pledge of Allegiance, Stand up, put your hand over your heart, honor our country, and thank God for all of us who still remember.

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama makes it sound like there are millionaires all over America paying taxes at lower rates than their secretaries.
U.S. Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., was quoted as saying the following just prior to the congressional run-off to replace Anthony Weiner, whose New York City-based seat was eventually won by a non-Jewish candidate last week:
Waxman wants to make it appear that Jews had no thought of Israel and its horrific treatment by Obama when they touched the screen to vote for a Republican. Waxman is trying to stiff-arm the Jewish concern for Israel until after the 2012 elections, when he himself is in danger of being forced to enter the workplace for the first time since he left law school. For him, that's a scary proposition. But why in the world did he accuse the Jews of voting "to protect their wealth"? Isn't that what people of all faiths do? So why single out Jews? Why stoke up the fires of the age-old Jew-hating mantra of associating Jews with the hoarding of wealth?
This is the data for calendar year 2003 just released in October 2005 by the Internal Revenue Service. The share of total income taxes paid by the top 1% of wage earners rose to 34.27% from 33.71% in 2002. Their income share (not just wages) rose from 16.12% to 16.77%. However, their average tax rate actually dropped from 27.25% down to 24.31%
