The answer to what the proper role of government is really lies in what kind of country we want to have. And I think the vast majority of Americans share a common vision for what they want our nation to be. They want our nation to be two things at the same time.
Number one: they want it to be free and prosperous, a place where your economic hopes and dreams can be accomplished and brought up to fruition. That through hard work and sacrifice you can be who God meant you to be. No matter who your parents were, no matter where you were born, no matter how much misfortune you may have met in your life, if you have a good idea, you can be anything if you work hard and play by the rules. Most, if not all, Americans share that vision of a free and prosperous America.
But they also want us to be a compassionate America, a place where people are not left behind. We are a nation that is not going to tolerate those who cannot take care of themselves being left to fend for themselves. We're not going to tolerate our children being punished for the errors of their parents and society.
So, we are a nation that aspires to two things - prosperity and compassion. And Ronald Reagan understood that.

 Dear Patriot, I wanted to update you on our planning for the 2nd Annual "We Read the Constitution" Rally for Saturday, September 17th at 1pm. The event will again be held along the river at historic Washington Crossing State Park in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. We have a good group of volunteers and I thank everyone who has written in to help out. Events like this only occur because of the hard work and dedication of many. I'm still out of town and Audrey Strein is managing things for us and doing a fantastic job! If you would like to volunteer in any way please contact Audrey at audreys110@yahoo.com. We are looking for folks to help with setup/breakdown, act as greeters, parking/crowd control, table volunteers, readers, historical reenactors, etc. If you have a special skill or item to donate that you feel may enhance the program, let us know! On Sunday, September 11th, 2011, an American flag should be displayed outside every home, apartment, office, and store in the United States . Every individual should make it their duty to display an American flag on this tenth anniversary of one of our country's worst tragedies. We do this to honor those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms.
In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have all but disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds
So, here's what we need you to do .
(1) Forward this email. (Please don't be the one to break this chain. Take a moment to think back to how you felt on 9/11 and let those sentiments guide you.
(2) Fly an American flag of any size on 9/11. Honestly, Americans should fly the flag year-round, but if you don't, then at least make it a priority on this day.

Stand Against Ground Zero Mosque, and Durban III, Stand for America
NEW YORK, July 6: The human rights organization American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) will be hosting its second annual 9/11 Freedom Rally on September 11 at 3pm at Park Place and West Broadway.
Free citizens are coming from all over the U.S. to attend the rally. "It is crucial to stand for freedom on this tenth anniversary of the heinous 9/11 jihad attacks," said AFDI Executive Director Pamela Geller. "We must show the jihadists we are unbowed in the defense of freedom."
AFDI and its Stop Islamization of America (SIOA) program are encouraging all Americans to stand against the Islamic supremacist mega-mosque at Ground Zero and the anti-Semitic Durban III conference that will be held in New York City at the same time, and for American values on the tenth anniversary of the worst attack ever on American soil.
The confirmed list of speakers includes 9/11 family members Alexander and Maureen Santora, who lost their firefighter son Christopher; Sally Regenhard, whose son Christian was killed on 9/11; Nelly Braginsky, who lost her son Alexander; and others.
Other speakers include former U. S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton (video message); the courageous ex-Muslim human rights activist Wafa Sultan; war hero and North Carolina Congressional candidate Ilario Pantano; former prosecutor and bestselling author Andrew C. TUSIF is proudly taking part in the 9/11: Never Forget Project. We sought the help of a group of student organizations, and we are 10 student organizations strong. We are seeking the support of the President of the University to sponsor a flag memorial. On its own, TUSIF, for Wednesday, September 7th, has arranged for a great singer Elizabeth Salvatico and her impressive band to play a range of songs including both Salsa and of course patriotic songs to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of 9/11. At the same event, TUSIF is hosting Mr. Bivona to speak; he was a first-responder on September 11.

There is no one else in local media who matches Dom when it comes to standing up for Israel, patriotism and integrity. Dom has taken on guests and callers on 1210 AM WPHT Radio who distort the facts about Israel, and he goes out of his way to speak truthfully about the Arab war against the Jews because it is the right thing to do.
Rabbi Kazan has been a fervent champion of Israel and has inspired generations of local Jews to have a place in their heart for the Jewish State. Please come to our Constitution Day event entitled "Everything you wanted to know about ObamaCare, but didn't know who to ask."
They said we had to pass it to know what's in it, but over a year later, people STILL don't fully understand how the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) - aka "ObamaCare" - will affect them and their health.
That's why a coalition of citizens and health care professionals will present "Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About ObamaCare But Didn't Know Who to Ask" on the campus of DeSales University in Center Valley, PA from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2011 - which, ironically, happens to be Constitution Day. DeSalesUniversity is located in the Lehigh Valley of PA, within easy driving distance of the major population centers of central, northeast, and southeast PA.
Policy professionals, physicians, business and legislative leaders, and representatives from groups most affected by the PPACA will share their insights and expertise through presentations, breakout sessions, exhibits, and panel discussions.
They'll explain how ObamaCare affects personal liberty and the Constitution, families and seniors, taxpayers, Medicare and the deficit, insurance premiums and the uninsured, businesses, employees and the economy, doctors, patients, and access to care, American innovation in medicine, and more.
Also included will be detailed updates on state and national efforts to defund, repeal, replace, and nullify ObamaCare from some of the legislative leaders spearheading those efforts.
Participants will leave the three hour event far more informed about what's in the PPACA than most of the legislators who voted for it, and will be energized to get involved in the fight to save America's health care. Participants, both live and online, will be empowered by their new understanding of how the PPACA will not accomplish any of the things its name implies, and will be able to effectively communicate that new understanding to others, providing important education about why this ill-conceived piece of legislation needs to be defeated by any means possible.
Already, according to Rasmussen's most recent poll, 54% of Americans want to see ObamaCare repealed, while only 39% oppose repeal - but the people who passed it clearly have not heard the voices of the American people yet. The more Americans know about the PPACA, the more they dislike it, and this conference will help to provide the tools citizen advocates and health care professionals need to effectively participate in the process to defund, repeal, and replace ObamaCare.
The event will be free to the public on site in a venue which will seat 500, and a live streaming video, and a professionally produced program will promote information about our coalition's sponsoring groups, as well as providing important information about the PPACA.

Awareness of Agenda 21 and Sustainable Development is racing across the nation as citizens in community after community are learning what their city planners are actually up to. As awareness grows, I am receiving more and more calls for tools to help activists fight back. Many complain that elected officials just won't read detailed reports or watch long videos. "Can you give us something that is quick, and easy to read that we can hand out," I'm asked.
So here it is. A one page, quick description of Agenda 21 that fits on one page. I've also included for the back side of your hand out a list of quotes for the perpetrators of Agenda 21 that should back up my brief descriptions.
A word of caution, use this as a starter kit, but do not allow it to be your only knowledge of this very complex subject. To kill it you have to know the facts. Research, know your details; discover the NGO players in your community; identify who is victimized by the policies and recruit them to your fight; and then kill Agenda 21. Seriously? MSNBC Brings On Ray Nagin to Discuss Hurricane Preparedness

Update (17:48 EDT): Nagin was also interviewed on today's "Hardball," which was guest-hosted by Chris Jansing.
Teasing his Friday 3 p.m. ET hour show on MSNBC, anchor Martin Bashir proclaimed that he would have a special guest on to discuss incoming Hurricane Irene: "Former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin joins us to explain what leaders must do to avoid the mistakes that were made six years ago."
Bashir was "delighted" to have Nagin on the program and began by asking about the response of political leaders to the storm: "Is it your view, sir, that they are handling preparations for this hurricane in the best way possible?" Bashir followed up by wondering: "...with the benefit of your experience, what are the critical actions that you think need to be taken to ensure that Hurricane Irene, or any other act of mother nature, does not become Katrina, Part II?"

When Will Newt Say When?
One of the saddest spectacles of the 2012 season is seeing Newt Gingrich, who for so long was the ideas guy of the right, run out of steam.
American Solutions, his once much heralded organization, is now shut down. Newt left the organization to run for President and it could not keep the lights on without Gingrich there.
But Gingrich seems to be having trouble keeping the lights on in his campaign.
This weekend saw a straw poll at the annual Georgia Republicans' fish fry in Perry, Georgia. The event, started by former Governor Sonny Perdue as a campaign fundraiser for himself and the party when he got elected back in 2002, is a huge affair for the state party. Folks come from every corner of Georgia to eat fish and politick.
There are two Georgia sons in the 2012 race: Herman Cain and Newt Gingrich. Cain is a businessman and former talk show host in metro Atlanta. Gingrich was and, for many is, "the Speaker." He taught at my wife's alma mater; his first wife was my wife's high school math teacher. He then went on to represent the Atlanta suburbs in Congress for quite a while, eventually becoming Speaker.
This weekend, as they might say in Georgia, the dogs didn't hunt for Newt Gingrich.

Exacerbating the 'Perception Problem': Center for American Progress Chronicles the American Right's Decade of Baseless Aggression Against Islam The far-left Center for American Progress (CAP) today released a report on the "Islamophobia network" it claims is responsible for the "genesis of anti-Muslim propaganda" in America, which coincidentally began, the report claims, ten years ago ("[S]even foundations over the past decade have helped fan the flames of anti-Muslim hate in America," writes Faiz Shakir at the CAP's ThinkProgress blog). It's both typically ironic and sadly predictable that CAP lays blame for the instigation of the last decade of skepticism about Islam and its adherents' aims in the west and around the world at the feet of a Vast Right Wing Conspiracy while almost entirely ignoring another, far more responsible and relevant event that took place ten years ago: the hijacking of four airliners by radical Islamist terrorists and the murdering of 1,629 Americans in New York, Washington, DC, and Pennsylvania. September 11, 2001 is mentioned only twice in the 130 page CAP report, and both times it is entirely in passing (pp. 42 and 75, with both mentions using 9/11 only as a reference point for supposedly extremist commentary by members of the "Islamophobia network" CAP seeks to unmask). Additionally, blame is laid at the feet of this "Islamophobia network" for the actions of Anders Breivik, the Norwegian extremist who murdered nearly seventy people in a bombing and shooting spree in July, while also blaming the "network" for the speculation that abounded while Breivik's attacks were ongoing that the perpetrator(s) might be Islamist extremists (bear in mind that credit for the attacks was claimed on a jihadi message board while they were ongoing). PolitiFact Proves Yet Again It Is a Left Wing Attack Machine With Nonpartisan Veneer As a general rule of thumb I heard somewhere, fact checkers don't check facts. Fact checkers exist to put an objective, nonpartisan veneer on whatever some reporter wants to say. And when fact checkers take it upon themselves to be arbiters of truth, they use their own biases. One of the worst is Politifact, which the media now hides behind routinely to give cover to a left-of-center spin on truth. There is an egregious example today over the number of doctors in Texas and whether tort reform mattered. According to Politifact, tort reform did not impact the number of doctors in Texas. In any event, they set the criteria to get into the debate as "4 percent in one of eight national prominent polls of Republicans taken since November 2010." Why not a more round number like 5%? With Governor Rick Perry now in the fray, we're fixin' to find out if Texas can make it three in a row. When examining what makes Texas the benchmark conservative state, the best place to start is the size of its government. Back in 1987, total state and local expenditures in Texas were about 18 percent of private gross domestic product (GDP), versus a national average of just over 19 percent. In 2008, Texas was still at about 18 percent, while the national average had risen to over 22 percent. Spending in California, our biggest competitor, grew during that period from about 19 percent to more than 25 percent of private GDP. Stats about where Texas ranks in taxes and spending tell the same story. The Tax Foundation says that Texas ranks 45th in state and local tax burden. Morning Bell: Lessons from Hurricane Irene
Without question, Hurricane Irene struck a major blow to the United States' East Coast over the weekend. At least 24 people have died, hundreds of thousands remain without power across the mid-Atlantic, and the estimates of direct costs of damage are in the range of billions of dollars. Our thoughts are with those who have suffered at the hands of the storm and who are beginning the process of rebuilding.
As the effects of the storm continue with "epic" flooding being reported in Vermont, pundits and politicians alike are already calculating its implications on government policy, with some calling for more funding for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), which is currently suspending payments for some of its recovery efforts in order to pay for the weekend's damage. There are, without a doubt, many lessons to be learned from the hurricane and how governments-local, state, and federal-should prepare for and respond to disaster. However, Hurricane Irene should not be used as an excuse to expand FEMA's role in responding to natural disasters.

SOCIAL STIGMA.
Liberals are forever congratulating themselves on having all but eliminated the "stifling" codes of disapproval by which the pre-1960s generations dictated socially acceptable norms. But "stigma" was good. While stigma existed, poor people were too proud to beg or rely on welfare; girls were too ashamed to be thought "loose" or to seek single motherhood as a lifestyle choice; men were more chivalrous because there was a stigma against treating women without deference and special consideration; and people were more polite and even dressed properly as a sign of respect for others and themselves. "Stigma" was the means by which free citizens could agree on a mutually satisfactory code of behavior, without the agents of the state having to poke their noses into anyone's private business. Liberals, however, utterly reverse the equation-they're all for obliterating taboos, knocking down stigmas, shocking the middle class, and preaching tolerance for the most anti-social behavior; and then they turn around and act as the biggest advocates of the government dictating private behavior with the nanny state. The consequences? Greater government intrusion; much worse behavior.

http://www.JewishWorldReview.com | American media superstar Glenn Beck's visit to Israel this week was a revealing and remarkable event. It revealed what it takes to be a friend of Israel. And it revealed the causes of Israel's difficulty in telling its enemies from its friends.
Many world leaders, opinion shapers and other notables profess enduring friendship with Israel. From Washington to London, Paris to Spain, policymakers and other luminaries preface all their remarks to Jewish audiences with such statements. Once their declarations are complete - and often without taking a breath - they proceed to denounce Israel's policies and deny its basic rights.
US President Barack Obama exemplifies this practice. Obama always begins his statements on Israel by proclaiming his enduring friendship for Israel. Then he tells us to deny Jewish property rights, accept indefensible borders, or desist from defending ourselves from aggression.
The Israeli Left habitually embraces self-proclaimed friends like Obama. Often leftist leaders encourage such friends to harm Israel in the name of helping it. For instance, in 2007, speaking to then secretary of state Condoleezza Rice - who had a habit of comparing her friend Israel to the Jim Crow south - then Ha'aretz editor David Landau asked her to "rape" the Jewish state. Opposition leader Tzipi Livni recently encouraged Obama to increase pressure on Israel.
When anti-Semitic public intellectuals like the late Nobel laureate Jose Saramago compare Israel to Nazi Germany, the Israeli Left make light of their remarks. For instance, when at the height of the Palestinian terror war in 2002 Saramago said that Israel was worse than the Nazis and that Jews had no right to speak of the Holocaust, Yediot Ahronot's Ariella Melamed referred to Saramago as "one of the most beloved foreign novelists in Israel."

Islamic extremists are stepping up the creation of "no-go" areas in European cities that are off-limits to non-Muslims.
Many of the "no-go" zones function as microstates governed by Islamic Sharia law. Host-country authorities effectively have lost control in these areas and in many instances are unable to provide even basic public aid such as police, fire fighting and ambulance services.
The "no-go" areas are the by-product of decades of multicultural policies that have encouraged Muslim immigrants to create parallel societies and remain segregated rather than become integrated into their European host nations.
In Britain, for example, a Muslim group called Muslims Against the Crusades has launched a campaign to turn twelve British cities - including what it calls "Londonistan" - into independent Islamic states. The so-called Islamic Emirates would function as autonomous enclaves ruled by Islamic Sharia law and operate entirely outside British jurisprudence.

The Obama administration announced Saturday afternoon in Washington that the second highest commander, Atiyah Abd al-Rahman, was killed in Pakistan. It did not say how he died, but a drone was assumed to have targeted him last Monday because a drone attack was reported the same day. The news of al-Rahman's death was kept secret until Saturday.

Justice Department Files Lawsuit Alleging Religious Discrimination by City of Lilburn, Georgia, Against Muslim Group
WASHINGTON - The Justice Department filed a complaint today against the city of Lilburn, Ga., alleging that the city violated the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act of 2000 (RLUIPA) when it rejected the Dar-E-Abbas Shia Islamic Center's requests for rezoning to construct a mosque. Both parties have agreed to a consent decree that will be filed on Aug. 29, 2011.
The city twice rejected the Islamic Center's applications to rezone property it owned to build a mosque in November 2009 and December 2010. The government's lawsuit alleges that the city's denials of the rezoning applications were based on the religious bias of city officials and to appease members of the public who opposed the construction of a mosque because of religious bias. The complaint further alleges that the city treated the Islamic Center differently than it treated non-Muslim religious groups that regularly have been granted similar rezoning requests.

Some 70 years after high school students, shopkeepers and doctors stood with their backs to the wall of the ghettos and sang, "Never Say You Walk Upon Your Final Way" while reloading their pistols, a rally organized by "Jews Say No" gathered to protest against Israel for defending itself. The Partisan's song of the ghettos was a courageous affirmation of life by those who went off to fight in Warsaw and in Jerusalem. And today there are the ugly chants of those who deny that affirmation. Who insist that the Jews are better off dead. Their rhetoric cloaks this agenda in the occupation, Jerusalem Post columnist Larry Derfner wrote on his blog that, "the Palestinians have the right to use terrorism against us." Of the terrorists who killed eight Israelis last week, "however vile their ideology was, they were justified to attack." Larry Derfner is honest, if equally vile, he doesn't bother justifying the genocidal Islamism of the post-PLO order, instead he settles for justifying the murders without regard to ideology. It doesn't matter what you believe anymore, or what you're fighting for, the left now extends the right to kill Jews without any belief test. You can be on the left, you can even be on the right, you can have beliefs identical to those of the Nazis, but with an Islamic veneer. It's all good. Derfner dresses up his murderous permissiveness in talk of resistance, but if the fathers of one of the children killed by Fatah terrorist attacks were to kick Abbas in the shin, he would be the first to call for his head. He admitted that "there are people of good will on both sides of the debate." He acknowledged that the World Trade Center site is "hallowed ground." Underpublicized threat deep in White House
FBI: Penetration by radical agents worse than thought
Infiltration of the federal government by members of the radical Muslim Brotherhood is worse than some have warned recently, says a former FBI special agent in Washington.
The agent confirmed that at least three operatives of the Egypt-based Brotherhood - whose credo is "Jihad is our way and death in the cause of Allah is our dream" - have penetrated the Obama administration.
The shocking charge was first leveled by Muslim reformer Tarek Fatah during a recent speech in Toronto.
"When someone says that there is penetration of jihadi Islamists within society, do not dismiss it as some right-wing, xenophobic, racist rant," warned Fatah, a Canadian journalist.

News media taking stance on Marco Rubio eligibility
Those asking question called 'racists,' 'misguided adherents to Constitution'
MIAMI, Fla. - Some national news media are declaring that U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio is a natural-born citizen and thus eligible for the presidency or vice presidency, even though Rubio's constitutional eligibility remains unclear and the popular Florida Republican has himself downplayed any interest in running on a White House ticket.
In a Daily Caller piece today titled "Coming soon: Rubio 'birthers,'" journalist Matt Lewis warns, "There is already a movement afoot (led by some on the fringe) to disqualify him from serving as president (which would presumably disqualify him from serving as vice president). That's right - some are arguing that Rubio is not eligible because he is not a 'natural-born citizen.'"

Tax fraud suspected in Obama land deal
'My professional background causes me to be suspicious'
The "buffer zone" parcel at the Obama family mansion in Chicago's upscale Kenwood neighborhood purchased by the wife of convicted felon Tony Rezko was transferred to Barack and Michelle Obama without ever being assessed or taxed, in apparent violation of Illinois law, according to a debt-collection expert.
"The Cook County assessor's office told me that there is no record of any tax assessment having been done on this transfer of the buffer zone property into a Northern Trust Co. Deed in Trust," Albert Hendershot told WND.
Hendershot, president and owner of Innovative Portfolio Recovery Inc, a debt collection and skip tracing company based in Birmingham, Ala., noted the buffer zone "does not have an address attached to it, which is probably how the assessment and tax were avoided."

WASHINGTON - More and more Christian parents are having their daughters bid good-bye to Tagalongs, Thin Mints and Girl Scouts because of the organization's relationship with Planned Parenthood, the largest player in America's abortion industry.
Proof of the strong links can be found by looking no further than the statements of Girl Scout CEO Kathy Cloninger, who told NBC's "Today" show in an interview in 2004: "We partner with many organizations. We have relationships with our church communities, with YWCAs, and with Planned Parenthood organizations across the country, to bring information-based sex education programs to girls."
There's additional documentation in printed materials provided by the Girl Scouts, although the statement from Cloninger remains sufficient for many parents. It comes on the heels of WND's exposure of Girl Scouts' promotion of lesbian causes.

QE3 Will Further Destroy U.S. Dollar
Speculation has risen that Fed chairman Ben Bernanke may announce yet around round of quantitative easing or QE3 on Friday. As economist Thomas Sowell says, "when people in Washington start creating fancy new phrases, instead of using plain English, you know they are doing something they don't want us to understand." The term quantitative easing in layman's terms just means that the Fed will print more money out of thin air. What could possibly go wrong? Well, for starters, the value of the U.S. dollar will continue to decline and it could set the stage for hyper-inflation.
Of course, the first two rounds of quantitative easing have failed miserably to stabilize the economy. This should have signaled that pumping new money into the economy is just not the solution. But Fed officials who have refused to accept reality continue to run the printing processes on overtime. After QE3 fails-and it will-we might as well expect to see QE4, QE5 and so on until the dollar is literally worthless.

2012 Update
- For the second time this week a poll finds Obama struggling in the critical swing state of Florida. According to the latest Mason-Dixon poll, just 41% of likely Sunshine State voters approve of Obama's job performance, while 56% disapprove. And if the election were held today, Obama would lose the state 43% to 51% to Mitt Romney and 45% to 46% to Rick Perry. Obama narrowly edges out Michele Bachmann 46% to 44%.
- The left-wing group Democracy Corps, founded by Clinton strategist James Carville, warned this week that Obama is losing support among key liberal voting blocs. Among unmarried women, support for Obama is down 12 points compared to 2008. When he won the White House, Obama enjoyed a 30-point advantage among young voters. Today, his advantage has been cut in half. In addition, voter enthusiasm among these groups is down, suggesting that turnout among liberal voters may not match the levels we saw in 2008.
The Obama campaign knows this. That's why it launched a massive voter registration and turnout effort this week. In addition, USA Today recently reported that Obama is "significantly outpacing the fundraising activity of the previous five presidents during their first terms." What is he going to do with all that money? Trust me, it won't be a positive campaign about hope and change. Obama's only hope is to smear his GOP opponent and turn out liberal voters based on their fears. - But conservatives could also help Obama win. Why would any conservative want to help Obama get reelected? I ask myself that very question every time I get an email from someone threatening to vote for a third party candidate. And new polling released yesterday by a Democrat polling firm only confirms the obvious -- divided we fall.
Public Policy Polling looked at seven hypothetical 2012 three-way races. Here is their conclusion:
"...we took a look at seven possible independent candidates against Obama and his strongest GOP challenger, Mitt Romney, and found ... Democrats remain pretty united behind Obama, and six of the seven possible independent candidates would hurt Romney more than the president."
A Tale Of Two Recessions
In today's Wall Street Journal, Stephen Moore pits "Obamanomics vs. Reaganomics." It is a very telling tale of how two men with very different ideas about government tackled two recessions with very different results. Here are some excerpts:
"The two presidents have a lot in common. Both inherited an American economy in collapse. And both applied daring, expensive remedies. Mr. Reagan passed the biggest tax cut ever, combined with an agenda of deregulation, monetary restraint and spending controls. Mr. Obama, of course, has given us a $1 trillion spending stimulus.
"By the end of the summer of Reagan's third year in office, the economy was soaring. The GDP growth rate was 5% and racing toward 7%, even 8% growth. In 1983 and '84 output was growing so fast the biggest worry was that the economy would 'overheat.' ...By the end of Reagan's first term, it was Morning in America. Today there is gloomy talk of America in its twilight. ...
"The Godfather of the neo-Keynesians, Paul Samuelson, was the lead critic of the supposed follies of Reaganomics. He wrote in a 1980 Newsweek column that to slay the inflation monster would take 'five to ten years of austerity,' with unemployment of 8% or 9% and real output of 'barely 1 or 2 percent.' Reaganomics was routinely ridiculed in the media, especially in the 1982 recession. That was the year MIT economist Lester Thurow famously said, 'The engines of economic growth have shut down here and across the globe, and they are likely to stay that way for years to come.' The economy would soon take flight for more than 80 consecutive months."
Ronald Reagan believed government is the problem. Barack Obama believes government is the solution. We've tried it his way for the past two and a half years, and the results are painfully obvious. What the left-wing naysayers said would happen under Reagan is taking place right now under Obama! Unemployment is above 9%. "The engines of economic growth have shut down." Today, GDP was again revised downward, to just 1%. Are you better off today than you were four years ago?
It doesn't have to be this way. The tale of this recession can have a happy ending too. To paraphrase Reagan, "A recession is when your neighbor loses his job. A depression is when you lose your job. Recovery begins when Obama loses his job!"
This "tale of two recessions" is a great story, particularly for younger Americans who may have fallen for the hype about hope and change. Share it with them. It's a story that cannot be told often enough throughout the course of the next 14 months.
Ahmadinejad Again Vows To "Eradicate" Israel
Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad vowed again this week to wipe Israel off the map. In an interview with a Lebanese network, Ahmadinejad said: "Iran believes that whoever is for humanity should also be for eradicating the Zionist regime (Israel) as [a] symbol of suppression and discrimination. Iran follows this issue (the eradication of Israel) with determination and decisiveness and will never ever withdraw from this standpoint and policy."
Nearly 80 years ago, elites on the left dismissed and isolationists on the right ignored another anti-Semitic madman's calls for genocide. Thanks to their ignorance, Hitler's Holocaust almost succeeded in eradicating European Jews. And that ignorance cost us dearly as the world was plunged into a second devastating world war.
Today, Obama continues to dither while Iran inches closer to becoming a nuclear power. Even libertarian Ron Paul openly advocates abandoning our strategic interests in the Middle East. Both Obama and Paul are wrong.

Angry Unions Sever Ties With Democrats, Obama
In a huge public blow to the electoral fortunes of both President Obama and the Democratic Party, the president of the AFL-CIO said Thursday that organized labor is preparing to ditch Democrats and go it alone in building up its own grassroots structure.
Specifically, AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka told reporters that the nation's largest labor federation will scale back their involvement with the Democratic Party in advance of the 2012 elections.

Picture a local "Mom and Pop" store in your area.
The business is a staple of the community. The owners know every customer's name. The employees love their jobs.
The company has never broken the law. It's never even been charged.
None of this matters to President Barack Obama's National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
The NLRB -- far exceeding its authority -- is now forcing its way into private-sector workplaces nationwide, even if workers don't want to labor under union-boss control and if the company has never been accused of an "unfair labor practice."
Mom and Pop shops, small businesses, larger companies -- even some religiously-affiliated organizations -- are now under the Obama Labor Board's microscope.
The NLRB implemented a new rule this week to require as many as SIX MILLION private-sector employers to post biased notices about the National Labor Relations Act that effectively serve as a roadmap to unionization.
After the outrageous complaint against Boeing and the proposed ambush elections scheme, this latest Obama Labor Board move may be its most pernicious yet.
You see, the NLRB has two chief functions.
First, it administers union certification and decertification elections. Second, it adjudicates cases when workers, employers, or union officials file unfair labor practice charges against either unions or companies.
But now the NLRB has invented out of whole cloth a new unfair labor practice without Congressional approval. No other federal agency has ever made it unlawful to fail to post a notice that wasn't required by Congress.
Any job provider that fails to post the biased notice could find itself forced into a lengthy and costly legal battle.
Mom and Pop can't afford that.
What makes the new rule even more troubling is that anyone can file the unfair labor practice charge -- not just the company's employees.
The new rule hands aggressive union organizers another weapon in so-called "corporate campaigns" in which they drag a business through the mud in the media with frivolous accusations of employer misconduct.
Union bosses only back off after the business agrees to throw its employees under the bus and let the union launch an abusive "card check" organizing campaign.
This "top-down" union organizing strategy frequently involves a team of union agents showing up at workers' homes and browbeating them with misleading statements, outright lies, and even intimidation until the worker agrees to sign a so-called "union authorization card" instead of a secret-ballot election.
Meanwhile, experts believe the NLRB is scheming to impose card check "neutrality agreements" on businesses found to have committed labor law violations.
Media reports in the Boeing case revealed that the NLRB's Acting General Counsel tried to force Boeing into a settlement to let union officials gain monopoly bargaining power over employees through card check.
This latest power grab is yet more evidence of its desperate desire to pay off Big Labor before the next election, and it's an invitation to Big Labor to run card check campaigns everywhere in America.
Moreover, the posting's pro-forced unionism bias couldn't be clearer.
No mention of workers' right to decertify an unwanted union.
No mention of workers' right to demand a secret-ballot election if aggressive union organizers try to strong-arm their way into a workplace.
No mention of workers' right to divert forced union dues to a charity if they have a conscientious, religious objection to union membership.
No mention of workers' right to refrain from financially supporting union-boss politics or, if they work in a Right to Work state, to opt out of paying any forced "fees."
Federal labor law is supposedly intended to help workers protect their rights.
The biased and ideologically-charged Obama Labor Board, however, has turned into an organizing tool for Big Labor.
And it's all designed to give union bosses and unelected bureaucrats even more power over workers and job providers alike -- at a time when our economy continues to languish.

As the Commission created by the Budget Control Act of 2011 which, itself, was contending with historically high and economically detrimental Debt and Deficits, it is time to selectively shutdown, sequentially, unnecessary, and, in the case of the United Nations, harmful programs. Selective Sequential Shutdown: As taxpayers and their representatives look for spending cuts, may I recommend a close look at United Nations $6.03 billion to finance a venue to undermine American security. This is not the UN of 1948.

Remember when I asked the question "where's Tim Pawlenty?"
Well, now I'm wondering where Rick Perry is...
I sent Governor Perry the official National Association for Gun Rights Presidential Candidate Survey via certified mail.
Guess what?
His campaign has refused to even pick it up from the Post Office!
Now, I know what you're probably thinking.
"He's pro-gun!"
"He even carries!"
Let me tell you, I've been in this game for a long time.
What I've come to learn is that unless you get a politician to -- at the very least -- sign a pledge stating his or her beliefs, you can never be sure of where a politician's allegiance truly lies.
We know the institutional gun lobby just uses their surveys as window dressing, but we believe our survey questions are extremely important.
Without having a candidate's signature on a survey that lays out -- in detail -- what he will and will not support, it's impossible to call that candidate "pro-gun."
If the only criteria for being pro-gun was whether or not a certain politician owned their own firearm or had a concealed carry permit, it would mean people like Barbara Boxer (D-CA) are pro-gun. And we both know that's just not true.
The simple fact is, when political figures don't answer questions, it usually means one thing...
...they're hiding something.
I need you to help me find out what Rick Perry is hiding.
Give his campaign manager a call at 603-620-3692 and demand that Rick Perry return the National Association for Gun Rights Presidential Candidate Survey.
One of two things will happen.
Either Governor Perry won't answer and show the gun rights community that he's too good for them...
...or he will answer and we will have a signed statement from him vowing to protect your Second Amendment rights on very specific issues.

Since 1964, our nation's senior citizens have relied on Medicare to ensure access to healthcare. Now the program is going broke -- and it is going broke fast.
It began spending its reserves in 2008 when payouts exceeded dollars collected for the program. [cite]
Predictions for exhaustion of the reserve vary, with 2024 identified by the Social Security Administration in the Trustees 2011 report. [cite]

The Ryan Plan in a Nutshell
Those currently retired and those close to retirement (55 and over) will see no change from the existing Medicare system. Existing physician reimbursement flaws will be corrected to encourage physicians to continue participating in the system.[cite]
On retirement, those currently under 55 will be provided vouchers from the government to help pay for health insurance. Voucher amounts will be based in part on income, with wealthier individuals receiving less assistance. State could take control of Harrisburg, Corbett warns

HARRISBURG -- Gov. Tom Corbett is warning of a takeover of the state's financially troubled capital if city leaders do not produce a recovery plan.
Harrisburg Mayor Linda Thompson spoke to reporters Friday to relay the governor's comments from her meeting with him earlier in the day as she lobbies city council to approve her plan.
Mr. Corbett, a Republican, took the same position in a Tuesday letter to her, The Patriot-News of Harrisburg reported.
"If there is no approved plan at this point, then the city is likely to become mired in litigation and financial chaos," Mr. Corbett told Ms. Thompson in the letter. "If the latter occurs, the commonwealth will not bail out the city. Indeed, if the city continues down the path of irresponsible economic decision-making, it is probable that legislative action will result in the city losing control of its ability to make such decisions."

Sen. Bob Casey surprised the state's political establishment, endorsing the future nominee at a news conference at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall and Museum in Oakland before barnstorming across the state with him.
Republicans can be counted on to remind Pennsylvania voters of that tie, as the president's sagging poll numbers give them hope of extending the GOP tide that flowed through the last election cycle in the state and across the country.
But a little more than a year before the 2012 contest, the state GOP does not appear close to coalescing behind a challenger and the Casey name has yet to become a fixture on consensus lists of the more vulnerable Democratic incumbents.
