Stand Against Ground Zero Mosque, and Durban III, Stand for America
NEW YORK, July 6: The human rights organization American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) will be hosting its second annual 9/11 Freedom Rally on September 11 at 3pm at Park Place and West Broadway.
Free citizens are coming from all over the U.S. to attend the rally. "It is crucial to stand for freedom on this tenth anniversary of the heinous 9/11 jihad attacks," said AFDI Executive Director Pamela Geller. "We must show the jihadists we are unbowed in the defense of freedom."
AFDI and its Stop Islamization of America (SIOA) program are encouraging all Americans to stand against the Islamic supremacist mega-mosque at Ground Zero and the anti-Semitic Durban III conference that will be held in New York City at the same time, and for American values on the tenth anniversary of the worst attack ever on American soil.
The confirmed list of speakers includes 9/11 family members Alexander and Maureen Santora, who lost their firefighter son Christopher; Sally Regenhard, whose son Christian was killed on 9/11; Nelly Braginsky, who lost her son Alexander; and others.
Other speakers include former U. S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton (video message); the courageous ex-Muslim human rights activist Wafa Sultan; war hero and North Carolina Congressional candidate Ilario Pantano; former prosecutor and bestselling author Andrew C. TUSIF is proudly taking part in the 9/11: Never Forget Project. We sought the help of a group of student organizations, and we are 10 student organizations strong. We are seeking the support of the President of the University to sponsor a flag memorial. On its own, TUSIF, for Wednesday, September 7th, has arranged for a great singer Elizabeth Salvatico and her impressive band to play a range of songs including both Salsa and of course patriotic songs to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of 9/11. At the same event, TUSIF is hosting Mr. Bivona to speak; he was a first-responder on September 11.

There is no one else in local media who matches Dom when it comes to standing up for Israel, patriotism and integrity. Dom has taken on guests and callers on 1210 AM WPHT Radio who distort the facts about Israel, and he goes out of his way to speak truthfully about the Arab war against the Jews because it is the right thing to do.
Rabbi Kazan has been a fervent champion of Israel and has inspired generations of local Jews to have a place in their heart for the Jewish State. Participants will leave the three hour event far more informed about what's in the PPACA than most of the legislators who voted for it, and will be energized to get involved in the fight to save America's health care. Participants, both live and online, will be empowered by their new understanding of how the PPACA will not accomplish any of the things its name implies, and will be able to effectively communicate that new understanding to others, providing important education about why this ill-conceived piece of legislation needs to be defeated by any means possible.
Already, according to Rasmussen's most recent poll, 54% of Americans want to see ObamaCare repealed, while only 39% oppose repeal - but the people who passed it clearly have not heard the voices of the American people yet. The more Americans know about the PPACA, the more they dislike it, and this conference will help to provide the tools citizen advocates and health care professionals need to effectively participate in the process to defund, repeal, and replace ObamaCare.
The event will be free to the public on site in a venue which will seat 500, and a live streaming video, and a professionally produced program will promote information about our coalition's sponsoring groups, as well as providing important information about the PPACA.

1. A New Day in Libya: Brief Thoughts on What Happened and What to Watch For
This weekend brought good news for those who have lived under the oppressive regime of Moammar Qaddafi for all or part of his 42 year reign of terror, as the dress-wearing perma-Colonel and his regime have been overthrown after a months-long civil war. As has been noted across the international affairs-sphere over the course of the last 24 hours, the toppling of Qaddafi's regime was not the end of Libya's challenges, but merely a preliminary accomplishment in what will likely be a long, hard slog toward self-determination and, hopefully, national security, stability, and success.
In a statement this afternoon, President Obama took credit on NATO's behalf for playing a significant role in this development, and called on Libya to pave a way forward that is "peaceful, inclusive, and just," and which relies on a peaceful settling of differences rather than on reprisals for justice. Though these admonitions will likely make little difference to those on the ground in North Africa, they are correct: Libya's future will hinge on how the aftermath of Qaddafi's overthrow, and its accompanying unifying euphoria, is handled by the citizenry and by those who are currently carrying the guns.
2. The Entitlement Leviathan in Numbers
Immediately prior to breaking for the August recess, Congress passed a bipartisan agreement to cut spending. Well, sort of.
Leaders in both parties got together to do something evil and stupid; they agreed to the largest increase in the debt ceiling, without solving our debt problem. They cut discretionary spending by $6.67 billion for FY 2012, from $1.0497 trillion to $1.043 trillion. That's a bit more than half a percentage point. Worse, discretionary spending (budget authority) only accounts for roughly 28% of our projected $3.7 trillion in outlays for FY 2011. So we cut about 0.6% of 28% of our federal budget for next year!
But, fear not; the best is yet to come. The mandatory entitlement spending reforms will be tackled by the super committee. The only problem is that a committee with such luminaries as John Kerry, Patty Murray, and James Clyburn - will never cut a dime from mandatory spending.
Where does this leave us?
3. The Palin Factor
September 3rd is fast approaching and a lot of people are suddenly buzzing that she will declare her candidacy for the Presidency at that time. Karl Rove is convinced. John Fund of the Wall Street Journal thinks she will not run. A lot of Sarah Palin supporters have been telling me she'll announce that day that she is running and I'm a fool and idiot for thinking she won't run. Now her PAC is saying don't believe the hype about September 3rd.
The analysts, etc. are really just looking at it being roughly the anniversary of her speech to the Republican Convention in 2008 and hearing all the Palin supporters say she will announce that day and Karl Rove's desperation to get someone in the race to stop Rick Perry's momentum and they are coming up with September 3rd as the date Palin will announce. And yes, in the past month, each time I've said I did not think Palin would run, I've had Palin supporters email me and say she would and they kept fixating on September 3rd, though no one officially in the Palin camp has said anything. Lots of Palin's fans hopes and Karl Rove's desire to stay in the mix have contributed to a lot of hype. (Full disclosure: all the emails I've been getting could just be Karl Rove and Bill Kristol via one outsourced spammer in Mumbai)
I am in the "will believe it when I see it" camp and still don't think she will run. One factor that keeps me there is her Fox News contract. For multiple weeks prior to Mike Huckabee declaring he would not run, leaks starting coming out of Fox News that the pressure was on for him to make up his mind.
We are not hearing the same about Palin and that suggests to me she will not run.
But if I'm wrong and she does run, what of it? What will her impact be.

All across the world, leaders are hailing the news that Libyan rebels have advanced into the capital city of Tripoli, poised to bring to an end to the decades-old dictatorship of Colonel Muammar Qadhafi. The end of Qadhafi's regime is welcome news, but now the United States must focus on developing a strategy for a way forward. The Heritage Foundation's Jim Phillips explains:
The Obama Administration, which stumbled into the war in Libya with no clear military plan or exit strategy, now must fashion a suitable and acceptable way forward. The Administration's short-sighted effort to score a quick and easy military victory over Qadhafi's regime failed to end the threat to civilians in "days not weeks," as President Barack Obama promised. The administration now must scramble to develop and implement a long term strategy for a post-Qadhafi Libya.

It's August recess in the U.S. Congress and your federal legislators are currently at home in their states/districts until after Labor Day. This is a great time for you to connect with your Members of Congress-to introduce yourself as a member of ACT! for America, explain some of the issues about which we are concerned, and make them aware of current legislation we have endorsed and are working to get passed into law. They need to hear from you!
How can you be most effective in doing this?
- Utilize the ACT! for America "High Priority List" of federal legislation. To-date, ACT! for America has selected fourteen pieces of federal legislation that we feel are critical to the national security of our nation. These legislative proposals have been placed on our "Legislative High Priority List." Click HERE to view the current list on our website, where you will also find a printable version. Please feel free to print out the legislative high priority list to use as you see fit, for example at Chapter meetings and when you meet with your elected officials and their staff.
- Schedule a meeting with your Senators or Representative while they are back at home. Call the local office of your federal legislators to schedule a meeting-or attend one of their public events, like a "Town Hall" meeting. Go alone, or bring two or three members of your chapter with you. It's easy and a great way to introduce yourself to your elected officials-and their staff.
Remember:
- You are the expert! You know more about these issues than they do.
- Don't inundate them with information! For example, a one-pager on ACT! for America (or the ACT! for America brochure) and a copy of our High Priority Legislation list (see #1 above) are all that is needed for an introductory meeting.
- Once you've developed a relationship with your federal legislators and their staff, it's easy to follow up and provide additional information/material when necessary.

Stopped clocks are right twice a day, and Al Gore can be too, assuming you use a generous definition of "day" and "twice"... and "right". Long after the media had shamefacedly retired the "Arab Spring" in the same closet where they keep the Mondale presidency and Grateful Dead memorabilia-- Al Gore brought it out with impeccable timing on an episode of "Where on TV is Keith Olbermann". We need to have an American Spring," Gore said. "You know, the Arab Spring-the nonviolent part of it isn't finished yet-but we need to have an American Spring, a kind of an American Tahrir Square. And this time no CBS reporters will have to be sexually assaulted. But the Goracle of Montecito, like a stopped clock, got the time wrong. The American Spring was in 2010. It was in the roar of Tea Party crowds gathering for popular protests around the nation. And the role of Mubarak was played his distant cousin, Barry. You can always tell the revolutionaries from the tyrants by seeing which group issues bulletins about the dangers of extremism, and which tells the government to go to hell. Last year a lot of people told the government to go to hell... and that worries the government.

By Ted Belman (also published in American Thinker) Islam divides the world into the Dar al Harb (the land of war) and Dar al Salaam (the land of peace). In Israel, the great divide is between the "Peace" Camp (PC) and "War" Camp (WC). Of course there are many people who are not part of either camp. Let's call them the uncommitted. The reason I put "peace" in quotation marks is that peace, in this context, is a misnomer. The PC works towards an illusory peace. Better to call it the "Let's make a deal Camp". "Peace" also denotes a moral high ground which is a debatable attribution. For this camp to use this word, it amounts to self aggrandizement. War is also put in quotation marks because the WC is not seeking war but the absence of war. It does this by preparing for war and maintaining deterrence. Cummings: Black community wants Obama to "fight harder"
Fight harder how?
Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) said Sunday that African-Americans want President Obama to "fight harder" to create jobs in the struggling U.S. economy.
Speaking on CNN's State of the Union, Cummings said the black community is very protective of Obama and is upset by attacks coming from Republicans on the president. But the lawmaker, ranking member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and former chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, said African-Americans want Obama to not concede to Republican demands.

Liberals tell you "if I were President"
THERE'S a near-total disconnect between our real, large, urgent problems and the who's-up-who's-down cage match that is the daily bread of our pundit class. Unending wars, a bone-dry Southwest and flooded Midwest, the absence of a jobs program - these have been, at best, of anecdotal interest to the mouths that roar on television. Instead, media-friendly politicians and pundits have been obsessed with two contrived priorities: the debt ceiling and a presidential election that's 15 months away.
"In moments of crisis, style dissolves into character," says Warren Bennis, the scholar of leadership who has advised four presidents. And not just for our leaders - talking heads are also being tested. For all their eloquence, most have nothing to say that we haven't heard them say before. Bored and frustrated, I found myself hoping for ideas that might challenge or inspire. General Motors Co (GM.N) is seeking to dismiss a lawsuit over a suspension problem on more than 400,000 Chevrolet Impalas from the 2007 and 2008 model years, saying it should not be responsible for repairs because the flaw predated its bankruptcy.
The lawsuit, filed on June 29 by Donna Trusky of Blakely, Pennsylvania, contended that her Impala suffered from faulty rear spindle rods, causing her rear tires to wear out after just 6,000 miles.

Stop Pres. Obama's Amnesty; Urge Congress to Pass the HALT Act

Last week, the White House announced a new plan that will provide an amnesty to non-criminal illegal aliens. Under the new policy, deportation cases will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and certain illegal aliens will not only avoid deportation, but could also apply for work permits.
Under the plan, 300,000 illegal aliens could receive work permits while 22 million Americans who want a full-time job can't find one!
Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. Lamar Smith, has introduced legislation that would prevent Pres. Obama and the Department of Homeland Security from moving forward with this policy. The HALT Act (H.R.2497) would prevent the Obama Administration from:
- granting parole (except in narrow circumstances),
- issuing deferred action (except in narrow circumstances),
- issuing extended voluntary departure to removable aliens,
- granting work authorization to aliens on a discretionary basis,
- granting TPS to any new groups of aliens,
- waiving the three and 10 year bars to admittance for aliens who have been illegally present in the U.S., and
- granting cancellation of removal to illegal immigrants.

2012 Update - Is the GOP field about to get bigger? On Fox News yesterday, Karl Rove said that Sarah Palin's travel schedule in Iowa "looks like that of candidate, not celebrity." A speech Palin will give in Iowa on Labor Day weekend was recently relocated to accommodate a larger audience. Meanwhile, Palin supporters in the critical first-in-the-nation caucus state have been laying the foundation for a campaign, convinced she will run.
- At least one candidate, however, has taken himself out. After talking with New Jersey's Chris Christie, Karl Rove, Bill Bennett and other conservative leaders, House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan declared today that he would not run for president.
- Campaigning in New Hampshire last week, Texas Governor Rick Perry got sandbagged by liberal activists. While most people are concerned about jobs and the economy, one woman shamelessly used her young son as prop to question Perry on the age of the Earth and evolution. At one point the boy's mother said to her son, "Ask him why he doesn't believe in science."
Don't miss what is going on here. The left is trying to portray Perry as an ignorant extremist unfit for office. Even though Obama has dragged the economy into the gutter, food stamps usage is higher than ever, unemployment is up and he wants to raise your taxes, you're supposed to ignore all of that and vote for the guy who believes in evolution and man-made global warming. - Obama is vulnerable. That's the lesson from the latest Gallup poll measuring Obama's support in hypothetical, head-to-head contests against several GOP candidates.
Among registered voters Gallup finds that Mitt Romney leads Obama by two points (48%-to-46%). Rick Perry ties Obama with 47% each. Obama leads Ron Paul by two points (47%-to-45%), and he leads Michele Bachmann by only four (48%-to-44%).
We Don't Need Another Terrorist State
Palestinian rockets continued to rain down on Israel all weekend despite the announcement of a truce. Hamas is taking advantage of anarchy in the Sinai Peninsula, where the Egyptian government does not have effective control. As loud as the explosions of the Hamas attacks are, the silence from the Palestinian Authority is just as deafening.
Yasser Arafat routinely condemned terror attacks if just to maintain the illusion of being a reasonable leader. But Mahmoud Abbas has, so far, said nothing, while innocent Israeli civilians are being targeted. Abbas' tolerance for terrorism is very telling about the kind of state he would have if he ever gets one.
Yet Abbas has not been completely silent. This weekend he called for an emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Council to discuss "halting Israeli aggression" against Gaza. In other words, Abbas wants the world to condemn Israel for defending itself.
Economists To Obama: Cut Spending!
While President Obama continues to insist that tax increases are necessary to solve the nation's fiscal crisis, more and more economists are speaking up and telling the president to cut spending first. The Associated Press reports today that 56% of economists surveyed by the National Association for Business Economics believed that "the federal deficit should be reduced only or primarily through spending cuts." Just 7% of economists said it should be done "only or mostly through tax increases."
This view is confirmed by a recent research finding that successful fiscal consolidations by other nations were achieved not by raising taxes, but by cutting spending. Consider this excerpt:
"The data also clearly indicate that successful attempts to balance budgets rely almost entirely on reduced government expenditures, while unsuccessful ones rely heavily on tax increases. On average, the typical unsuccessful consolidation consisted of 53% tax increases and 47% spending cuts. By contrast, the typical successful fiscal consolidation consisted, on average, of 85% spending cuts."
The Tyrants Of Tolerance
Jerry Buell is a history teacher in Mount Dora, Florida. Buell has taught in the public schools for more than two decades. According to administrators he has a "spotless record." In fact, he was "Teacher of the Year" last year at Mount Dora High School.
Yet Buell has been suspended and is fighting for his job pending an ethics investigation. His offense: Writing a Facebook post critical of same-sex "marriage." By the way, in 2008, 62% of Florida voters approved a constitutional amendment defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman.
What happened to Buell is not an isolated incident. It is happening all over the Western world as homosexuality becomes more widely accepted. The movement that wore the mantle of tolerance is showing that it and its supporters are among the most intolerant. They not only want marriage to be redefined, they want it to be virtually illegal to express views that reflect traditional religious teaching.
Years ago, Dr. James Dobson and I co-wrote a book called "Children At Risk." We warned then that the culture war was real and only one side could prevail. Christians who continue to insist that same-sex "marriage" won't affect them are sleepwalking. It will impact what your children are taught in the public schools. Religious liberty is at stake.
Moreover, your job may well be risk. Major corporations and leading law firms pride themselves on their "tolerance" and diversity, when in fact they are anything but. Fail to toe the liberal line and you can lose your job. Just Dr. Frank Turek or Jerry Buell.
Men and women of faith cannot sit on the sidelines while the culture war rages on. Homosexuality is out of the closet and the tyrants of tolerance are trying to force anyone who believes in traditional values into the closet.

Palin is to make the keynote address at a Tea Party of America "Restoring America" rally in Waukee, Iowa, near Des Moines, Sept. 3. She did not say if she would declare her candidacy then, but has said she would likely make her decision known by September.

A liberal political action committee funded by labor unions and George Soros, announced an ad blitz targeting House Republicans whose seats it considers "some of the most vulnerable" in 2012.
'August offensive' television ad campaign will target Reps. Dan Lungren of California and Sean Duffy of Wisconsin. Other campaigns are against Tim Griffin, Scott Tipton and Chip Cravaack. They spent nearly $825,000 overall campaigning against Republican House members since April.
A PAC representative said: "We are targeting Republicans more than a year before the 2012 elections because the American people are disgusted with House Republicans' misguided priorities and votes to sell out the middle class. House Majority PAC will continue targeting House Republicans."

Days after Sen. Marco Rubio's election, former First Lady Nancy Reagan wrote to him: "As someone to watch on the national political scene. I'm looking forward to watching you in your new role. Americans are curious to get to know you. I believe the Reagan Library would be a great venue for you to deliver an address."
Rubio will travel to California for his first major speech outside of Florida or the U.S. Senate - as well as some fundraising for his new political action committee. He's will speak on: the role of government in America. Next month He will talk about his growing interest in foreign policy at the Jesse Helms Center in North Carolina.
Speaker John Boehner quoted Rubio during the debt ceiling debate: "Senator Rubio said last week we don't need more taxes - what we need are more taxpayers."
Just two weeks after Rubio speaks at the Reagan library, it will play host to a Republican presidential debate. It begs the question of whether Rubio's speech there - and his overall strategy - is calculated bait for an eventual vice presidential nod. Thank you for taking the time to read my bi-weekly e-newsletter. I want to thank the thousands of constituents who took the time to fill out and return my recent mail survey of issues affecting our community. Your input is a critical part of the legislative process and helps me to better represent your views in our nation's capital.
Job Creation
As we have seen over the last few months, the debate in Washington has been primarily focused on our deficits and the debt ceiling. Concerns over government spending are not unique to our generation, but the current magnitude of our debt has forced us to address these issues with a renewed sense of urgency.
Two weeks ago, the Treasury announced that our debt has surpassed 100% of our GDP, threatening the very foundation of our economy. We've already seen the first signs of unsustainable government growth with the downgrade of our nation's credit rating. While there have been some questions surrounding the cozy relationship between S&P and the Treasury, as well as the $2 trillion error that went into S&P's calculations, there should be no confusion regarding the message this downgrade sends: reduce deficits and balance the budget.
In an attempt to deal with these problems head on, the House of Representatives has passed a series of bills that seek to put our fiscal house in order and create an environment of stability in which small businesses can put Americans back to work. Fiscal responsibility is not a solution in and of itself, but it is an important prerequisite to a pro-growth environment. The only lasting solution to our debt crisis is economic growth and job creation.
As your representative in Congress, I will continue to pursue policies that rein in out-of-control government spending and give the job creators the confidence they need to spark a real and lasting economic recovery. Here are six steps Congress and the President must take immediately to spur job creation:
1. Overhaul the federal tax code to close loopholes and make sure everyone pays their fair share.
2. Simply and streamline federal regulations to so small business can grow and hire.
3. Incentivize innovation by reforming outdated patent laws to protect inventors and entrepreneurs.
4. Lease federal lands for offshore drilling and use the revenues for local infrastructure projects.
5. Encourage the return of American capital currently held and invested abroad to create jobs in the United States.
6. Make government live within its means to prevent freeze-out of private sector growth.
Small Business Town Hall
Last Saturday, I held a Town Hall Meeting with small-business owners from across the 8th District to hear their ideas on job creation and what Congress should be doing to help them put Americans back to work. I appreciated the opportunity to sit down with the men and women who will ultimately be responsible for driving our economy forward and out of the current downturn.
Spending cuts, taxes, won't solve debt woes alone
In case you missed it, the Bucks County Courier Times posted a story last Friday on my speech before the Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce. In my address to these business leaders, I outlined the fact that as Congress works to balance our budget and reduce the deficit, we cannot rely on spending cuts and tax hikes alone. There recently was a death of a 98 year-old lady named Irena.
During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist.
She had an 'ulterior motive'.
She KNEW what the Nazi's plans were for the Jews (being German).
Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried and she carried in the back of her truck a burlap sack, (for larger kids).
She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto.
The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.
During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants.
She was caught, and the Nazi's broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely.
Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard.
After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it and reunited the family.
Most had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.
Last year Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize.
She was not selected.
President Obama won one year before becoming President for his work as a community organizer for ACORN
and Al Gore won also --- for a slide show on Global Warming.

SAVING MEDICARE
Since 1964, our nation's senior citizens have relied on Medicare to ensure access to healthcare. Now the program is going broke -- and it is going broke fast.
It began spending its reserves in 2008 when payouts exceeded dollars collected for the program. [cite]
Predictions for exhaustion of the reserve vary, with 2024 identified by the Social Security Administration in the Trustees 2011 report. [cite]
The Democrat response is to reduce the amount Medicare reimburses physicians for their services. [cite]
This will result in fewer participating physicians and the physicians continuing in the program seeing fewer Medicare patients.
Patients will wait longer and have fewer choices in seeing a doctor.
If this makes access to care sufficiently untenable, or if Medicare does not get on viable financial footing, it will be administered through ObamaCare[cite].
This would include cost controls by a 15-member board of bureaucrats deciding wich treatments, drugs, and surgeries patients can receive.
Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), Chairman of the House Committee on the Budget, has a plan which saves Medicare with no disruption to today's seniors and reasonable changes for future retirees.
The Ryan Plan is widely misunderstood and misrepresented. The future of our seniors' healthcare is too important to be decided on misinformation. Here are the facts about Medicare and the Ryan Plan.
The Ryan Plan in a Nutshell
Those currently retired and those close to retirement (55 and over) will see no change from the existing Medicare system. Existing physician reimbursement flaws will be corrected to encourage physicians to continue participating in the system.[cite]
On retirement, those currently under 55 will be provided vouchers from the government to help pay for health insurance. Voucher amounts will be based in part on income, with wealthier individuals receiving less assistance. Risk pools [cite] will be created to ensure that insurance companies will provide coverage to seniors, despite their generally higher use of medical care.
The result is retirees will have a system that gives them options, similar to that which members of Congress use and which will include options similar to Medicare Advantage, the popular plan eliminated by Obamacare. [cite]

The medicare system is running out of money. Change is coming, one way or another.
Pretending we can continue as we are is not an option, it is a recipe for disaster. The longer we wait to make changes, the greater the disruption to current and future retires, the more abruptly the changes will have to be implemented, and the fewer options we will have.

Since individuals generally require more medical care as they age, it tends to be difficult for older individuals to find private health insurance that will cover them. That is one reason our existing Medicare system is considered so important for many. The Ryan Plan creates risk pools which encourage multiple insurance companies to offer health coverage to those of retirement age.

Individuals have paid into the Medicare system with the promise that coverage will be there for them when they retire. Unfortunately, we are facing an economic crisis in this country and Medicare is a significant part of the problem. Make it feasible for doctors to participate in Medicare
Currently in many areas of the country physicans are reimbursed for Medicare patients at a rate that does not cover their expenses. Recent changes put forth by the Democrats further reduce reimbursement. [cite] This is not sustainable for any business and as a result increasing numbers of physicians are discontinuing their participation in the Medcare program. Patients are finding that their physician is no longer a Medicare provider and when they look for another physician it is increasingly difficult for them to find a Medicare provider who is accepting new patients and can see them in a reasonable time. Keep medical decisions between patients and doctors, not remote government panels
The Ryan plan harnesses the free market and puts choice in the hands of the patient. Retirees will be able to pick the insurance plan that best meets their needs, applying government vouchers toward premium costs. Medical decisions would be made in consultation with their personal physician, based on the individual's situation and preferences.

Media reaction to first Restoring Courage event
How did the press cover the event? Al Jazeera's take on Restoring Courage was, well, about what you would expect from Hillary Clinton's favorite news network. But there was a ton of coverage, much of it was very favorable - like the Jerusalem Post which wrote this headline: "Analysis in Jerusalem Post: Why Glenn Beck is right" read it HERE. Terror alert raised in Israel; missile dome operational
Violence continued after the terrorist attacks that killed 8 Israelis and police have now raised the alert level in Jerusalem. Sderot, Ashkelon and Beersheba saw rockets rain down on them throughout the weekend, putting Jerusalem on a Level 3 alert, just one below the highest alert level. Not shockingly, the media has gone into hysteria mode now that Texas governor Rick Perry has thrown his hat into the Presidential ring. Chris Matthews was so concerned he said 'can you imagine having a President who doesn't believe in evolution or global warming?' -- the evolution thing is strange coming from Matthews, a so called Christian.
