First Responders Not Allowed to Attend 9/11 Memorial Service

The Blaze | by Jessie Abrams | Posted on August 18, 2011 at 6:59am

Bonnie Giebfried was a first responder during the September 11 attacks almost 10 years ago. On that day, she was twice entombed in sheared building fragments, and escaped twice. She transported people to safety and set up makeshift triage stations. She watched bodies hit the ground and suffered three asthma attacks.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's decision to not allow first responders to attend this year's memorial ceremony at Ground Zero is a fresh wound for Giebfried.

Justice Department Reportedly Investigating Standard & Poor's

Associated Pres | Published August 18, 2011

Standard Poors Ratings HeadquartersThe Justice Department is investigating whether the Standard & Poor's credit ratings agency improperly rated dozens of mortgage securities in the years leading up to the financial crisis, The New York Times reported Wednesday.

The investigation began before Standard & Poor's cut the United States' AAA credit rating this month, but it's likely to add to the political firestorm created by the downgrade, the newspaper said. Some government officials have since questioned the agency's secretive process, its credibility and the competence of its analysts, claiming to have found an error in its debt calculations.

Federal Lawsuit Links Iran to 9/11 Terror Attacks

In just a month, America will observe the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Over the past decade, the U.S. government has relentlessly pursued the al Qaeda masterminds behind that day's catastrophic events: Osama bin Laden has been killed, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed has been captured and Ayman al Zawahiri remains on the run.

But a new federal lawsuit claims that the tentacles behind the deadliest terror attack in American history stretch even further than al Qaeda--all the way to Tehran.

The suit was recently filed in a Manhattan court on behalf of the families of 9/11 victims. It accuses the Iranian government of having advance knowledge of the attacks and helping to facilitate travel for the 9/11 hijackers.

Funeral Information for Philadelphia Navy Seal killed in Afghanistan helo crash

Dear Patriots and Troop Supporters;

We were saddened last week to hear about the deaths of so many of our wonderful Navy Seals and troops in the helicopter crash in Afghanistan.

The following information was passed along to me by the father of a recent USNA graduate who is now a Navy Seal. He wanted this information shared with those who might wish to attend the funeral services and honor this brave man and pay respect to his family. As a Gold Star Mother I know how much the outreach from the community can mean to the grieving family. Your presence tells them they are not alone and that their son's death was not without meaning and purpose. That's what pulls you through something like this. Let them know you care.

Services have been arranged for PO1 Michael Strange as follows;

Viewing to be held Thursday 8/18/11 at 11:00 am at The Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, 18th & JFK Parkway.

Mass to begin at 3 pm after the viewing.

Military Honor Services to be conducted immediately following the Mass in the park directly outside the cathedral.

Warriors' Watch Rider's will escort PO1 Strange's remains from the Funeral Home to the Cathedral. We will then form a flag line, to be in place during visitation.

Rally Time TBD, estimated 8am. More info to come. (God bless the Warrior's Watch Riders)

Thank you Michael Strange for answering the call of duty.

God bless you and may God continue to bless America,

Helene Eissler

THESE PHOTOS JUST BECAME DECLASSIFIED - FROM 9/11

The anniversary of 9/11 is coming up.  We must never forget what happened and who was responsible.  The threat is still with us of more destruction to come.  Those radical islamist tell us so all the time.  We all seem to dismiss it.  We must press our Congress to look into all those who may be amongst us now training and getting ready to launch another attack.  We must never allow a mosque to built any where near that sacred ground.  Please be at the rally on 9/11 as the Mayor has given approval for the mosque to be built.

We the people must rise up and say NO!

Press Release:

AFDI/SIOA 9/11 Freedom Rally:

Stand Against Ground Zero Mosque, and Durban III, Stand for America

NEW YORK, July 6: The human rights organization American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) will be hosting its second annual 9/11 Freedom Rally on September 11 at 3pm at Park Place and West Broadway.

Free citizens are coming from all over the U.S. to attend the rally. "It is crucial to stand for freedom on this tenth anniversary of the heinous 9/11 jihad attacks," said AFDI Executive Director Pamela Geller. "We must show the jihadists we are unbowed in the defense of freedom."

AFDI and its Stop Islamization of America (SIOA) program are encouraging all Americans to stand against the Islamic supremacist mega-mosque at Ground Zero and the anti-Semitic Durban III conference that will be held in New York City at the same time, and for American values on the tenth anniversary of the worst attack ever on American soil.

The confirmed list of speakers includes 9/11 family members Alexander and Maureen Santora, who lost their firefighter son Christopher; Sally Regenhard, whose son Christian was killed on 9/11; Nelly Braginsky, who lost her son Alexander; and others.

Other speakers include former U. S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton (video message); the courageous ex-Muslim human rights activist Wafa Sultan; war hero and North Carolina Congressional candidate Ilario Pantano; former prosecutor and bestselling author Andrew C. McCarthy; popular radio host Joyce Kaufman; Darla Dawald, National Director of the Patriot Action Network; James Lafferty of the Virginia Anti-Sharia Taskforce (VAST); Coptic Christian activist Joseph Nassralla; Iraqi ex-Muslim Paul Gaynos.

Hosting the rally are Pamela Geller, publisher of the acclaimed AtlasShrugs.com blog, executive director of AFDI and SIOA, and author of Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance (WND Books); and AFDI/SIOA associate director Robert Spencer, the bestselling author and director of Jihad Watch.

Building the Ground Zero mosque is not an issue of religious freedom, but of resisting an effort to insult the victims of 9/11 and to establish a beachhead for political Islam and Islamic supremacism in New York. Cordoba Initiative board member imam Feisal Abdul Rauf is an open proponent of Sharia, Islamic law, a system that denies the freedom of speech, the freedom of conscience, and the equality of rights of all people before the law. Given the thousands of triumphal mosques that have been built on the cherished sites of conquered peoples throughout Islamic history, the mosque leaders' claim that this mosque would be understood differently by Muslims worldwide lack foundation.

The Durban III conference follows upon two previous conferences that scapegoated and demonized the state of Israel in service of Islamic jihad and Islamic supremacist interests. The rally will defend Israel against the defamation to which it will be subjected at this conference. It will also call upon the city to remove roadblocks to the reconstruction of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, which was destroyed on 9/11 and since then mired in bureaucratic red tape that has prevented its rebuilding - in stark contrast to the help Mayor Bloomberg and other city officials have given to the Ground Zero Mosque project.

AFDI/SIOA is one of America's foremost organizations defending human rights, religious liberty, and the freedom of speech against Islamic supremacist intimidation and attempts to bring elements of Sharia to the United States.

Restoring Courage - Jerusalem 2011

"We have gone to the capitals of our states and to the capitals of our government.  We have talked to all the power brokers.  The only power broker, the only seat of government that can and will solve this problem with or without us is God.  It is time to return inside the walls that surround Jerusalem and stand with people of all faiths, all around the world," Glenn said in his initial announcement.

"In August, whether I'm there with seven people or 10 people or there alone, I will stand.  I ask you to join me.  I also ask you to take this message globally, to take this to every corner of the earth.  If you have family living overseas, this is not an America solution.  This is a people of faith solution.  This is a people all over the world solution.  I ask you to help get this word out."

Glenn Beck Restoring Courage Viewing Party : On Wednesday, August 24 we will be streaming the event at The Moose and we're inviting everyone to come down and share this together.  Many of us went to the Restoring Honor event last year and we were deeply moved by the day's events.  Being with others we know made this even more special.  Although we are not going to travel to Israel, we are hoping that we can recreate that atmosphere here in Bucks County.  We are still in the development stages of this event and would like to hear your suggestions on how to have it work out.  And if you can help with the planning, set up and the break down, please let us know.  These events are even more special when you are part of the effort to make it come off well for everyone who comes.  Be sure to invite your friends and family to come as well.  This would be a great opportunity to meet other patriots and meet some new ones.

Talk-Radio's Dom Giordano To Receive ZOA's Ben Hecht Award

Shalom ZOA Members, Friends and Supporters of Israel,

Tickets are now available for Philadelphia ZOA's First Tribute Gala on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at the Hilton Philadelphia on City Avenue, as we honor talk-radio giant Dom Giordano and beloved Rabbi Fred Kazan.

Do not miss what will be a memorable event locally for the pro-Israel community in our area.

Jewish community pillar Gary Erlbaum will be master of ceremonies as we honor Dom with the Ben Hecht Award for Outstanding Journalism for his honest and forthright support of Israel, and Rabbi Kazan for his lifelong devotion to the Jewish State of Israel with our Guardian of Israel Award. Jonathan Tobin of Commentary and former executive editor of the Jewish Exponent will be guest speaker, and there will be remarks from our own great ZOA National President Morton Klein.

Of course, there will also be delicious glatt-kosher food, a festive and warm evening and the opportunity for the community to come together to celebrate Israel.

Philadelphia ZOA has set up a special ticket hotline so that you can be a part of this evening. Call 215-333-1729 to order tickets, or contact us by email at a special email address: zoadom@yahoo.com . Or if you would like, a copy of the invitation and response card is attached to this email. Simply print it out and return it to: ZOA-GPD, P.O. Box 45604, Phila., PA 19149.

There is no one else in local media who matches Dom when it comes to standing up for Israel, patriotism and integrity. Dom has taken on guests and callers on 1210 AM WPHT Radio who distort the facts about Israel, and he goes out of his way to speak truthfully about the Arab war against the Jews because it is the right thing to do.

Rabbi Kazan has been a fervent champion of Israel and has inspired generations of local Jews to have a place in their heart for the Jewish State. Whether it be currently at Historic Congregation Kesher Israel where he is religious leader, or Temple Adath Israel where he is Rabbi Emeritus, or at Beth Sholom where he served, or during his tours of Jewish Philadelphia he leads, he has been a proponent for Israel.

It is the duty of all who care about Israel to thank and show appreciation for stalwarts of Israel as we lest not take such support for granted. In our area, we must come out to publicly thank Dom Giordano and Rabbi Kazan.

We look forward to seeing you the evening of Sept. 8.

RedState

RedState Morning Briefing

For August 18, 2011

1. Where Is the Outrage At Captain Bull Malarkey and His Bus Tour?

August is such a vacuum in Washington. I would like to think the GOP might seize on it to focus on two things for which I do not think there is sufficient outrage.

The first is Barack Obama's bus tour. It is a campaign trip. The administration is doing little to hide it and a passive press corps is even describing it as a bus tour while minimizing the fact that American taxpayers are footing the bill in its entirety.

When George W. Bush took his own bus tour, he did so with campaign funds. Barack Obama is expecting you, me, and everyone else to fund his re-election campaign. At a time when 17% of the country is either unemployed or underemployed, it is appalling that the President would use our money to fund his re-election and that re-election message would be that we need to give him even more of our money.

Sell the damn buses and refund the money, Mr. President. It is a campaign trip pure and simple and your campaign should fund it. It is outrageous that you would buy million dollar buses from Canada in order to drive around the countryside demagoguing private jet owners.

Even more appalling than that is his Agriculture Secretary, Tom Vilsack, declaring the expansion of the food stamp program to be a stimulus. I don't know about you, but I think if I were dependent on food stamps, I would not exactly feel stimulated.

He has the temerity to say that for every food stamp dollar spent, $1.87 is turned by into the economy. He, of course, ignores all the additional money consumed by the bureaucracy and administration costs of the program and the waste, fraud, and abuse the President goes on and on about.

Not only that though, but Vilsack actually brags that the Obama administration has expanded the food stamp program and . . . wait for it . . . has consequently expanded the stimulus.

And on top of it all, with 17% of Americans either unemployed or underemployed, Barack Obama has the nerve to tell us on his taxpayer funded campaign trip that sometime after he gets back from vacation in September he will have a jobs program. Finally. More than 900 days into his administration, Captain Bull Malarkey and the Banana Republic bunch will show up with a jobs plan.

2. The Food Stamp Party is Stimulating Poverty

The loss of jobs is only half of the result of the government interventionist equation. The other casualty of an economy driven by taxation, regulation, litigation, subsidization, monetary intervention, and debt is the crippling cost of living for all Americans. [Yes, I was about to say middle class, but we would be wise to eradicate that sort of socialist innuendo from our vernacular.]

Earlier today, the latest wholesale inflationary numbers were released. The core PPI rose 0.4% in July, while year over year PPI is now close to a three year high at 7.2%. Additionally, food prices rose another 0.6% in July. These numbers are quite disconcerting, given the sharp slowdown in economic activity. The higher wholesale costs are inevitably passed down to consumers, forcing them to pay more for basic products, such as energy, food, and transportation.

While there are many cyclical factors that affect the price of food and fuel, and by extension, everything else; nonetheless, clearly central planning from the government has kept prices artificially high.

3. Why It Is Still Romney's Race To Lose

I'm getting a lot of disagreement with my earlier statement that the race is still Mitt Romney's to lose. Some of it is irrational exuberance from Perry supporters. Some of it is legitimate. Your mileage may vary on my thinking, but I did want to lay it out.

4. Watching Mouths

Rick Perry's biggest problem to getting the Republican nomination and winning a general election is Rick Perry. He is going to have to overcome attacks both from Karl Rove acolytes helping Mitt Romney and also from Democrats painting him as the second coming of George W. Bush. He will have to appeal to swing, independent voters, women, and people who are still a bit tired of the last Christian/military pilot/Texas Governor.

But all the people saying Rick Perry's comments on Ben Bernanke hurt him have some serious Beltway-itis.

Dude got the President of the United States to respond personally and directly to him - not to the field, not to the generic Republican, but to Rick Perry.

Even more importantly, Barack Obama's comments were on how Rick Perry, in effect, needed to do his job. Imagine that, the man who has killed more jobs than saved wants to lecture an opponent on how to do his job.

More so, Ben Bernanke is not exactly Mr. Popular.

In 24 hours, Perry managed to get Karl Rove to attack him and Barack Obama to attack him. About the only down side is that most Americans are probably getting their kids back to school this week and did not notice.

5. Drilling Rigs in Pennsylvania! Hide the Womenfolk!

Democratic State Rep. Michael Sturla is apparently not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Speaking of the impact of the Marcellus Shale drilling boom on Pennsylvania, Sturla said:

"Also, aside from building roads so their trucks can get to drill sites and doing a little stream work to mitigate damage from their road building, exactly what are all those things the drillers are doing for the local communities? Patronizing the bars at night? Driving up the cost of rental housing? Spreading sexually transmitted disease amongst the womenfolk? ..."

Amongst the womenfolk? Why do I feel like I am watching an episode of Bonanza?

GREAT PRESIDENTS.
How come libtard sleaze buckets like JFK and meddling early socialists like Woodrow Wilson and FDR tend to figure so high in the list of great presidents? The truly great presidents are the ones who interfered as little as possible, leaving America's natural capitalist instincts free to pursue prosperity and liberty. It's presidents like Republicans Warren Harding (who got the United States swiftly out of a post-World War I depression) and Calvin Coolidge we should really celebrate: on their watch taxes fell, wages increased, working hours declined, and the United States enjoyed one of its greatest-ever booms. FDR, on the other hand, just made the Great Depression worse.

General Eisenhower Warned Us

It is a matter of history  that when the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, General Dwight Eisenhower, found the victims of the death camps he ordered all possible photographs to be taken, and for the German people from surrounding villages to be ushered through the camps and even made to bury the dead.

He did this because he said in words to this effect: 'Get it all on record now - get the films - get the witnesses -because somewhere down the road of history some bastard will get up and say that this never happened'

This week, the UK debated whether to remove The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it 'offends' the Muslim population which claims it never occurred. It is not removed as yet.. However, this is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving into it.

It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended. This e-mail is being sent as a memorial chain, in memory of the,6 million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians, and 1,900 Catholic priests Who were 'murdered, raped, burned, starved, beat, experimented on and humiliated' while the German people looked the other way!

Now, more than ever, with Iran , among others, claiming the Holocaust to be 'a myth,' it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets.

This is intended to reach 400 million people! Be a link in the memorial chain and help distribute this around the world.

How many years will it be before the attack on the World Trade Center

Wall Street targeted for Britain-style riots

'Day of rage' aims to 'bring down the stock market'

In the wake of Britain's riots, a group of American radicals are planning a "Day of Rage" targeting Wall Street and U.S. capitalism.

The upcoming protests, replete with a planned tent city in downtown Manhattan, is closely tied to the founders of ACORN and leaders of major U.S. unions, including the Service Employees International Union, or SEIU.

There are indications the protesters are training to incite violence, resist arrest and disrupt the legal system.

The protest aims to take root nationwide.

Activists are advertising on social network sites such as Facebook and Twitter for a "Day of Rage" on Sept. 17 to begin with the "occupation" of Wall Street and continue with protests across the nation.

The House Homeland Security Committee "has initiated an investigation" into the radical Muslim cleric Anwar al-Awlaki and whether he was an overlooked key player in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, a letter from the committee chairman to Attorney General Eric Holder says.

The three-page letter, obtained exclusively by Fox News, makes the case that a decade after the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil, the full story of 9/11 has not been told.

"This congressional investigation will seek to determine:

The Spending Threat to Our National Defense

Consider it a warning from the highest levels of the U.S. government. Yesterday, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta held a joint press event in Washington in which they cautioned that U.S. debt is jeopardizing America's ability to ensure national security and preserve its interests abroad.

Under the Budget Control Act of 2011-the debt ceiling agreement enacted earlier this month-$350 billion in cuts to defense spending must be made over 10 years. But if Congress doesn't reach an agreement on $1.5 trillion in deficit savings, $1.2 trillion in automatic cuts would be made. Half of those would come from the military's budget by 2013. And Panetta said yesterday that those cuts would be disastrous:

As my regular readers (both of 'em) know, I'm taking a "summer vacation" away from my blog (I think it has something to do with my girlfriend's desire that I occupy my time with things that actually produce an income). As I technically still consider myself "on vacation," this post will be a bit looser and more informal than my other pieces (as evidenced by the fact that I'm breaking my rule of never writing in the first-person). Hell, I might not even spell-check it as rigorously as I usually do. Sue me; I'm on vacation.

Also, as my regular readers know, there is no single subject to which I have devoted more time than Muslim terror. I take pride in having had my stories carried on pretty much every anti-Islamist website around, from FrontPageMag and Atlas Shrugs, to Steven Emerson's Investigative Project on Terrorism, Jerusalem Pulse Radio, Moonbattery, WorldNetDaily, NewsReal Blog, Islamist Watch, Daniel Pipes' Middle East Forum, The Blaze, HotAir.com, Right Pundits, Creeping Sharia, Michelle Malkin's site, etc., etc., etc.

Nevertheless, I still fully expect to be called a "dhimmi" by one or two of you after you read this post.

Response to Open Letter from Amnesty International

August 9, 2011

Dear Mr Neve and Mrs Vaugrante,

I must confess that my first reaction upon reading your open letter to Minister Toews and myself was one of surprise and joy.  For your organization to muster its formidable powers of suasion against the orderly and innoxious proceedings of the Canadian immigration system must mean that the world's most truculent regimes have discharged their last political prisoners and advocates of democracy are free to march in the streets of Tehran and Pyongyang.  I have since learned this is not the case, leaving me puzzled as to why Amnesty International (AI) would waste its time and resources opposing the legal deportation of war criminals and serious human rights violators from Canada.

When I joined AI in high school, it was to defend the rights of political dissidents like Andrei Sakharov and to oppose brutal regimes, including those still doing bloody business in Iran and North Korea.  I am disappointed to learn you are now squandering the moral authority accrued in those campaigns on targeting one of the most generous immigration systems in the world, and protesting the actions of Canadian public servants applying rules and laws that far exceed our international obligations.

Arizona: Police feared family of Muslim honor killing victim would kill her as she fought for her life in the hospital

More on this story. Authorities were only being prudent, as honor killings often result from a collective decision among relatives, or at least have their tacit support, even in America: one will recall the brother of the Said sisters, two Dallas-area honor-killing victims. Islam Said insisted his father was the true victim. "Revealed: Police feared Iraqi family of honour killing daughter would try to murder her as she fought for life in hospital bed," from the Daily Mail, August 7:

Police feared that the Iraqi immigrant family of a daughter run over and killed by her father in an apparent 'honour killing' would try to murder her as she clung to life in a hospital bed, a new tape reveals.

It has also emerged that the mother of the girl, who later died from her injuries, was called a 'sick person' by the Arizona detective investigating the case.

Faleh Al-Maleki, 50, was jailed for 34 years in April for the second-degree murder of his 20-year-old daughter Noor because she had become 'too Westernised'. He was also found guilty of aggravated assault for causing serious injuries to Amal Edan Khalaf, the mother of Noor's boyfriend, as well as two counts of leaving the scene.

The audio tape, obtained by Fox News, records a telephone conversation between Seham Al-Maleki, Noor's mother, and Peoria police detective Bill Laing in which she demands to see her daughter.

'Until he [Noor's father] is located, we are not mentioning where she is at,' replied Laing, who told the mother that witnesses in the parking lot identified her husband as the driver.

'This woman, she is lying, because she is dirty,' Seham says, referring to Khalaf, who survived being hit by Al-Maleki's jeep. 'You are a sick person,' Laing snapped. Al-Maleki fled while his daughter was taken to the hospital, in critical condition.

Seham was eventually allowed into the hospital to see her daughter, who was removed from life support on November 2, 2009.

Mohamed El-Sharkawy, a member of the Arizona Muslim Police Advisory Board told Fox News that the Peoria police were worried another family member would try to kill her, too.

By the way, is there an Arizona Lutheran Police Advisory Board?

'They were afraid that because he did not succeed, that somebody else, his son or a relative, will go and finish the job,' said El-Sharkawy, who was called in to the investigation after Noor was run down.

Al-Maleki reached the United Kingdom before he was captured and extradited back to the U.S. and charged with murder.

Al-Maleki believed his daughter had become 'too Westernised' and had abandoned 'traditional' Iraqi values, Peoria police said....

To Hide an Honor Killing

Posted by Robert Spencer Bio ↓ on Aug 10th, 2011

We held a rally for justice for Fatimah Abdallah last June. Now at last the truth is coming out. This is justice in America in 2011: a police department cowers in fear of violence from Muslims if it tells the truth about an Islamic honor killing. Ask yourself if all the "Islamophobia" mongers care even the slightest bit about justice for Fatimah Abdallah.

Here is an extraordinary announcement from David Caton of the Florida Family Association:

Tampa Police CSI tech admits "fear of Muslim reprisal" in Palestinian woman's death. Florida Family Association asks Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate.Florida Family Association (FFA) now has direct evidence that officials with the Tampa Police Department are intimidated by the possible involvement of religious creed in the death of the Palestinian woman named Fatima Abdallah.

 Grassfire

The developers behind the Ground Zero Mosque have re-emerged with a new plan to build a mosque in the same location that caused such an uproar last year.

And now they are using the 10-year anniversary of 9/11 to promote a major fundraising goal of the campaign. According to a New York City news outlet, Mosque organizers seek to raise $7 million by September 10, which of course coincides with the 9/11 anniversary.

Ground Zero Mosque organizers are also trying to re-sell their mosque in kinder, gentler language. But the facts remain the same: millions of dollars are about to be pumped into a major Muslim center and now organizers are using the 9/11 tragedy to promote their efforts.

+ + Stand Against The Ground Zero Mosque

Grassfire Nation and the Patriot Action Network are taking part in a major rally in New York City on 9/11 to honor those who have fallen and oppose this new version of the Ground Zero Mosque.

Two specific ways you can help.

First, if you haven't done so already, please sign our petition opposing the Ground Zero Mosque. These petitions will be delivered to New York City leaders on Friday, September 9, and presented by our staff during the 9/11 rally as a show of nationwide opposition to the Ground Zero Mosque.

Go here to sign:

Second action...

We want to give our 9/11 Remembrance lapel pin to the thousands of first responders and family members of victims as a special gift from fellow Americans.

Thousands of family members and first responders are expected to be in attendance at the 9/11 events. What a great way to show the family members and first responders that fellow Americans share in their sorrow and sacrifice.

But to do so, I need your help. In order to have the pins ready for 9/11, we must place our order for 9/11 Remembrance Pins by this weekend.

Will you sponsor a 9/11 family member or

first responder to receive as a special

gift from fellow Americans our 9/11

Remembrance pin? Please go here to help:

I'm hoping that hundreds or even thousands of Grassfire Nation team members will step forward and sponsor at least one person to receive the Remembrance Pin as a gift.

We believe this is a fitting way to honor the sacrifice of those who have fallen and the service of the heroic first responders.

Thanks for your consideration,

Secretary of State Hillary

OIC to criminalize free
speech!

EVENT REMINDER!!

August 30
th Tulsa rally on behalf of Captain Paul Fields. Visit here for more details. Pass the word!

Sign the petition HERE.

The assault on our Constitution continues.

As we have reported extensively, Captain Paul Fields was disciplined for refusing to obey an order that violated his constitutional rights. We are certain a Muslim police officer would not have been ordered by the Tulsa police chief to attend Christian church services and Sunday school classes.

Now read the latest attack on our freedoms below, posted recently in Jihad Watch (highlights added). The OIC (Organization of the Islamic Conference) continues its assault on free speech at the UN through the advance of resolution 16/18. This resolution, cloaked in terms such as "defamation of religion," is a thinly veiled attempt to criminalize speech that criticizes Islam.

But now, in an ominous development, according to a story published by the International Islamic News Agency, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has joined the effort to implement this effort to criminalize free speech.

Jihad Watch

Secretary of State Clinton says State Department will coordinate with OIC on legal ways to implement UN's resolution criminalizing "defamation of religion"

Moving rapidly to criminalize telling the truth about how Islamic jihadists use the texts and teachings of Islam to encourage violence and supremacism. Obama Campaign Names NJDC's Ira Forman to its Judenrat

Ira Forman's well-earned position as Obama's Kapo in Chief
by Bill Levinson

The National "Jewish" "Democratic" Council reported today that NJDC Chair Marc Stanley issued the following statement on the Obama Campaign's appointment of Ira Forman as its Jewish Outreach Director.

On behalf of the National Jewish Democratic Council's Board and Staff, I am ecstatic that the Obama campaign has chosen Ira Forman to lead their outreach to the American Jewish community. I had the opportunity to work closely with Ira for a number of years when he served in his capacities as NJDC's Executive Director and CEO. I cannot think of anyone better suited to help the campaign reach Jewish voters. Ira's knowledge and understanding of the Jewish community is unsurpassed, and his passion for the Democratic Party's principles makes him a perfect fit for his new role.

Mr. Forman's commitment to the Democratic Party is amply proven by...

Forget About Rick Perry

Laura: It looks as though we have another Chris Christie on our hands in Texas governor Rick Perry who has announced he is running for president. Like Christie, Perry speaks of fiscal conservatism but is clueless about the stealth jihad and has pandered to the agenda of islamic leaders and groups in Texas who's aim is to infiltrate the educational system to propagandize youngsters with lies about islam's contributions and sugarcoating its violent history and implementing sharia. It's hard to believe that with all of the information out there in which even ordinary American citizens have access to, that so many politicians in both parties are unaware of the agenda and radical views of the islamic organizations and individuals they cultivate. It seems they are willing to sell out the future of our country to gain power for themselves, and unfortunately these stealth jihad groups are wielding an increasing amount of power and influence in our political system. Glick: The Left's Faustian Bargain

By Caroline Glick, JPOST

The Palestinians' decision to place the issue of the establishment of a Palestinian state before the United Nations for a vote next month repudiates of the principles of the 1993 Oslo peace framework, through which the Palestinian Authority was formed out of the PLO. The Oslo framework dictated that the final status of Judea, Samaria, Gaza and Jerusalem would be determined through direct negotiations between the PLO and Israel.

While brazen, the Palestinians' UN gambit is not the first time that Israel has been confronted with unequivocal proof that the Palestinians have been operating in bad faith. From the outset, PLO leaders from Yassir Arafat down have made statements and taken actions that have demonstrated that from the PLO's perspective, the entire "two-state paradigm," of peacemaking upon which the Oslo process is predicated was nothing more than a ploy.

For instance, after coming under heavy pressure from then opposition leader...

Lessons from Europe (Take 2)

Bret Stephens, WSJ

'The real lesson from Europe," wrote Paul Krugman in January 2010, "is actually the opposite of what conservatives claim: Europe is an economic success, and that success shows that social democracy works." Here are some postcards from the social democracy that works.

· In Britain, 239 patients died of malnutrition in the country's public hospitals in 2007, according to a charity called Age U.K. And at any given time, a quarter-million Britons have been made to wait 18 weeks or longer for medical treatment. This follows a decade in which funding for the National Health Service doubled.

· In France, the incidence of violent crimes rose by nearly 15% between 2002 and 2008, according to statistics provided by Eurostat. In Italy violent crime was up 38%. In the EU as a whole, the rate rose by 6% despite declines in robbery and murder.

· As of June 2011, Eurostat reports that the unemployment rate in the euro zone was 9.9%....

Bat Ye'or: "The universal caliphate stands before us"

by Andrew Bostom

Bat Ye'or's 2005 Eurabia: the Euro-Arab Axis portrayed Western Europe's recrudescent dhimmitude, chronicled in real time, by our most informed contemporary scholar of the dhimmi condition. Living as an eyewitness in Geneva-a major European center, with its United Nations, NGOs and other international fora-Bat Ye'or described in painstaking detail, the ongoing transformation of Europe into "Eurabia," a cultural and political appendage of the Arab/Muslim world.

The use of the term "Eurabia," she noted, was first introduced, triumphantly, in 1975 as the title of a journal, Eurabia (
catalogued at WorldCat; 1975-1977) edited by the President of the Association for Franco-Arab Solidarity, Lucien Bitterlein, and published collaboratively by the Groupe d'Etudes sur le Moyen-Orient (Geneva), France-Pays Arabes (Paris), and the Middle East International (London). The articles and editorials in this (1975-77) publication called for common Euro-Arab...

When a Civilization Goes Mad

By David Solway, PAJAMAS MEDIA

Historian Arnold Toynbee, who developed the theory of challenge-and-response [1] to account for the survivability of civilizations, has said that great civilizations are not murdered, they commit suicide - by not meeting their challenges. A variation of this historical insight may be phrased thus: When a civilization or an empire feels inwardly that it is dying, or as Oswald Spengler put it in The Decline of the West [2], that it wants to die and "wishes itself into the darkness," it begins to go mad. Collective madness is a sure portent that an end is approaching, that an axial transformation is about to occur, that an entire worldview or cultural habitus is on the verge of disintegration. It signals that a people has surrendered to a mortal destiny, repudiated its sustaining tradition and condign principles, and indeed has gone so far as to regard the enemy at the gates as a form of salvation. "They were, those people, a kind of solution,"...

China's Chief Of Staff Visits Israel

To Discuss Strategic And Military Cooperation

Rob Miller, AMERICAN THINKER

This is one of those important stories you won't see reported on much.

General Chen Bingde, Chief of General Staff of the People's Liberation Army of China arrived in Israel on an official 3 day visit to discuss military cooperation between the two countries.

General Bingde's position is equivalent to the head of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, and this is the first time a Chinese officer of that rank has ever visited Israel. He was received with full honors upon his arrival and came at the invitation of IDF Chief of Staff Benny Ganz. His visit will include conferences with Ganz, Israeli defense Minister Ehud Barak, Prime Minister Netanyahu and Israel military figures as well as a visit of the Holocaust memorial Yad Vashem and a visit to a military base in the Negev.

This is not the first high-level meeting between Israeli and Chinese military figures. In 2010, an Israeli military...

Some history on the Jewish Quarter

Lt. Col. Howard writes to advise;

I, with the help of others, posted these items at the Jewish Journal of Los Angeles:

(1) Subject: Jerusalem some materials for background information-for distribution

(1) East Jerusalem. The so-called Arab sector of East Jerusalem was once heavily populated with Jews. In 1948 the British led British equipped British trained Jordanian Legion conquered that portion of the city of Jerusalem and murdered or expelled every Jew and destroy every vestige of Jewish presence.

Jews have indisputably been the majority in Jerusalem since at least 1853. It was a Jew-free area only during the brief period between 1949 to 1967, when Jordan ethnically cleansed East Jerusalem of Jews to interrupt a continuous 1,000-year Jewish presence. To consider East Jerusalem "Palestinian" an atypical 18-year historical blip as the baseline for negotiations.means rewarding Israel's Arab enemies, who aimed for exactly this goal when they leveled the Jewish Quarter.

Turkey issues 'final word' to Syria over civilian assault

By OREN KESSLER AND REUTERS, JPOST

Syrian forces shelled residential districts in Latakia on Monday, the third day of an assault on Sunni neighborhoods of the ancient port city that had seen mounting protests against President Bashar Assad's autocratic rule.

Meanwhile, thousands of people fled a Palestinian refugee camp in the coastal city, some fleeing gunfire and others leaving on orders from authorities, a spokesman for the UN Relief and Works Agency said.

Davutoglu took a firmer tone.

"This is our final word to the Syrian authorities. Our first expectation is that these operations stop immediately and unconditionally," the Turkish foreign minister said in Ankara's strongest rhetoric yet against its once close ally. "If these operations do not stop, there will be nothing left to say about the steps that would be taken," he told a news conference, without elaborating.

"We have been in contact and have repeated our demands and have emphasized our...

Glenn Beck visits the Fogel home

I just signed up for access to Genn Beck TV at the cost of $4.95 a month cancellable at any time. Ted Belman

By Adam Taxin, PHILIDELPHIA EXAMINER

Glenn Beck arrived in Israel yesterday and broadcast his daily radio show live from Jerusalem earlier today.

Beck, who began the show by saying it has been "an incredible weekend," is in Israel as part of his much-anticipated "Restoring Courage" event, which is intended to show solidarity with the State of Israel and the Jewish People.

During the first hour of his show, Beck spent time discussing his visit to Itamar in Samaria [part of the region, along with Judea, that those with less-than-warm feelings for Israel prefer to refer to as the "West Bank"]. While in Itamar, Beck visited the home and community of the Fogel family, members of whom were brutally massacred in March by Arab Muslim terrorists who invaded their home while they were observing Shabbat.

In regard to Itamar and the Fogels, Beck today said:

Fellow patriots,

In yesterday's email about Rick Perry, I said:

I don't enjoy being the bearer of bad news, but feel obligated to tell you that Texas Governor Rick Perry isn't panning out to be the great Republican restorer of American values that a lot of people hoped for.  Read the articles below and start asking questions.  As we learned from President Obama, HOPE can lead to disappointment.  Let's make sure we have all the facts this time.

Well, it looks like the leaders of Act! for America did just that: They started to ask questions and seek facts, and it's beginning to look like a ruse has been played to knock out Barack Obama's most formidable Republican challenger.  While the story of Rick Perry is far from over, and new developments may turn things around again, it is clearly not time to write him off as another deluded Islamophile.  Read the message below to get a sense of the shenanigans that are being played against Perry.  Even better, read this article (http://www.countercontempt.com/archives/1945 ) to get a fuller understanding of what exactly Rick Perry has been doing in Texas regarding Islam.  It now appears to be a whole lot less than meets the eye.  I'm sorry to see that two prominent conservative writers whom I generally trust -- Pamela Geller and Debbie Schlussel -- may have been fooled by the liberals at Salon, and in turn may have caused me to broadcast a false alarm.

Act! for America

Getting the facts about Governor Rick Perry

By Kelly Cook, National Field Director

ACT! for America is not a political action committee, and we don't endorse candidates for office.

We do, however, place a premium on putting out factual information, especially when it concerns elected officials and/or candidates for office. We're not concerned about being the first to report something; we're concerned that what we pass along to you be factual. As a result, it's not uncommon for other organizations, blog sites, and the like, to put out something about a particular issue before we do.

As you may now be aware, Gov. Rick Perry, who announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination last Saturday, has taken a lot of heat in the last few days.
It began with a piece by the publication Salon, which asked if Perry is "the pro-sharia candidate."

We saw the piece and have done some background checking on it, but haven't yet commented on it. We have actually done some inquiring of people who are close to Governor Perry. Why?

Because it seemed odd to us that a media outlet that has a history of dismissing concerns about radical Islam and ridiculing those who speak out against radical Islam would all of a sudden be concerned about radical Islam. Especially given that their concern was about a Republican candidate.

Not surprisingly, there has been a fair amount of response and back-and-forth in cyberspace about Salon's piece and subsequent posts by those in the movement combating the threat of radical Islam. We know a lot of our chapter leaders are emailing and asking about this. And although we have yet to complete our research and fact-checking, one blog caught our attention today that we decided to forward on to you, our chapter leaders.

This post, from someone who is obviously an ally in the struggle against radical Islam, appears well-documented and reveals some information that, if accurate, sheds a great deal of light on the ostensible accuracy of the Salon piece. We encourage you to read it here, check out the documentation, and pass it on to others as you see fit.

We know all too well how something put out in cyberspace can take on a life of its own, even when the facts don't support it, and how difficult it can be to set the record straight. You wouldn't believe the things we come across regarding Brigitte Gabriel that are not only inaccurate, but clearly completely fabricated. And how hard it is to set those things straight.

This is one reason among many why we do our best to travel in facts and avoid sensationalism that is lacking in facts. The truth about radical Islam is compelling enough. We don't have to fabricate it or exaggerate it.

For instance, there's a picture circulating the internet that shows Muslims praying in a New York street, with a caption claiming that New York streets are being filled every Friday with Muslims praying. The problem is, the picture is from a Muslim day event in New York that happens only once a year, not every Friday. The picture is authentic but the explanation that goes with it is not accurate.

We do not yet know the full, accurate story behind the allegations leveled in the Salon piece. As you know we're not shy about pointing out the truth, whether it be about Rick Perry or anybody else. And as more facts come to light, we'll pass them on.

In the meantime, whatever the issue or question is, we'll continue to do our best to avoid falling into the trap of "ready, fire, aim." Because "firing" before "aiming" usually ends up being friendly fire that only hurts our efforts.

Five Myths About Rick Perry

Posted by Ben Shapiro Bio ↓ on Aug 17th, 2011

Gov. Rick Perry of Texas is now the frontrunner for the Republican nomination.  Many people are aware of his focus on the Tenth Amendment, his state's tremendous record of job creation (40% of all jobs created since the beginning of the recession have been in Texas), and his formidable campaigning abilities.  But as with all other Republican candidates, there are rumors swirling about his positions and history that are worth examining.  Let's take them, point by point.

Myth #1: Perry is the return of Bush and therefore unelectable.

National Association For Gun Rights

Great news!

Word of gun owners' victory at the Iowa Straw Poll is spreading. Even one of America's premier political news sites, Politico.com, has picked up the story about how National Association for Gun Rights members just like you toppled Tim Pawlenty's Presidential campaign.

The article even noted my subsequent call for NAGR members to lobby Governor Rick Perry to return the National Association for Gun Rights Presidential Candidate Survey.

However, Politco.com writer Maggie Haberman missed the mark when she noted that Perry has a concealed carry permit by assuming he must be pro-gun because he has a concealed weapon permit.

Senator Barbara Boxer, seen here vilifying semi-automatic rifles with Dianne Feinstein, has a permit to carry.

The Washington, D.C. elites just don't get it. They think that simply having a concealed weapon permit automatically makes any politician pro-gun.

Do you think California Democrat Senator Barbara Boxer is pro-gun?

No, I don't think so, either.

But Barbara Boxer used her influence to secure an elusive concealed carry permit from California.

I can almost hear her trying to deceive gun owners... "Trust me, I have a permit."

Chuck Schumer -- one of the most anti-gun Senators in Washington D.C. -- obtained a permit to carry for self-defense.

Or how about New York Democrat Senator Chuck Schumer?

Schumer himself is reported to possess a New York concealed handgun permit, and both U.S. Senators regularly employed armed guards for their personal protection.

Just because a politician recognizes that being armed makes THEM safer, doesn't mean they support YOUR right to keep and bear arms. They think they're different than you and me, that because of their title they're entitled to MORE rights than we are.

The Second Amendment is about much more than just carrying concealed... or hunting... or sport shooting.

Your right to keep and bear arms is a bulwark against tyranny.

That's why the National Association for Gun Rights sends Presidential Candidate Surveys to politicians like Tim Pawlenty and Governor Rick Perry.

Gun owners MUST know where they stand on important issues like banning magazine or bans on certain types of semi-automatic rifles, or opposing the United Nations' Small Arms Treaty gun-grab.

Please call Rick Perry's campaign RIGHT NOW at (858) 483-4300 and demand that he return the National Association for Gun Rights Presidential Candidate Survey.

I hope you'll also take a moment and re-read my e-mail about how NAGR members like you toppled Tim Pawlenty's Presidential aspirations.

Please, don't forget to call Governor Perry at (858) 483-4300 and demand that he return the National Association for Gun Rights Presidential Candidate Survey.

For liberty,

-Dudley

Three big issues, however, threaten to implode the GOP front-runner's nomination, let alone general election victory: RomneyCare, RomneyCare and RomneyCare.

Few things unite the tea party, the GOP caucus/primary activists and the knock-on-doors, hang-the-signs, ring-the-phone volunteers more than their universal hatred of ObamaCare. Most Americans want ObamaCare repealed, some because it lacks a "public option." But the tea party-like Republicans -- and even regular Republicans -- overwhelmingly support ObamaCare repeal. It is up there with the worst legislation ever signed.

Lieberman: I Might Not Back Obama in 2012

Wednesday, 17 Aug 2011

By Hiram Reisner

Sen. Joe Lieberman says he is not sure he will back President Barack Obama's re-election bid and will wait and see who the Republicans nominate. The Connecticut independent also told Fox News' Sean Hannity Tuesday his decision will be based on which of the candidates will be most capable of getting America's government "back in balance."

Ominous Parallels

This column by ACRU Policy Board Member and Professor of Economics Dr. Walter E. Williams was published August 17, 2011 on Townhall.com.

People are beginning to compare Barack Obama's administration to the failed administration of Jimmy Carter, but a better comparison is to the Roosevelt administration of the 1930s and '40s. Let's look at it with the help of a publication from the Mackinac Center for Public Policy and the Foundation for Economic Education titled "Great Myths of the Great Depression," by Dr. Lawrence Reed.

During the first year of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal, he called for increasing federal spending to $10 billion while revenues were only $3 billion. Between 1933 and 1936, government expenditures rose by more than 83 percent. Federal debt skyrocketed by 73 percent. Roosevelt signed off on legislation that raised the top income tax rate to 79 percent and then later to 90 percent. Hillsdale College economics historian and professor Burt Folsom, author of New Deal or Raw Deal?, notes that in 1941, Roosevelt even proposed a 99.5 percent marginal tax rate on all incomes more than $100,000. When a top adviser questioned the idea, Roosevelt replied, "Why not?"

Obamacare Is Going Down

This column by ACRU General Counsel and Senior Fellow for the Carleson Center for Public Policy (CCPP) Peter Ferrara was published August 17, 2011 on The American Spectator website.

As we saw, the 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals became the first federal appellate court to find the Obamacare individual mandate unconstitutional last Friday. I filed briefs in that case on behalf of the American Civil Rights Union urging that result. More important than the ruling is what the trend is showing. For all that matters in the end is what five Justices on the Supreme Court say.

One of the two judges voting to strike down the Obamacare mandate is Frank Hall, a Clinton appointee. She now joins her 11th Circuit colleague Judge Joel Dubina, appointed by Bush I, District Court Judge Henry Hudson, appointed by Bush II, and District Court Judge Roger Vinson, appointed by Reagan, in producing thorough, compelling opinions all agreeing that the Obamacare mandate violates the Constitution.

What? Another Department of Jobs?

This column by ACRU Senior Fellow Ken Blackwell was published August 16, 2011 on The Huffington Post.

Floundering. Flopping around like a fish on deck. That's the best description of the Obama administration this summer. The president's now on a bus tour of the Heartland. Next, he's slated to go to Martha's Vineyard for a well-earned vacation.

He's done about all the damage he can do for one summer, so let's give him a break. The media shows the president stepping smartly off Air Force One or briskly scaling the stairway up to Air Force One. It's intended to impress us and it does impress. Until you recall that that's $187,000 an hour to fuel and fly the jumbo jet, all added to our national debt.

"Super Committee" Should Cut Spending, Not Raise Taxes

As a member of the Conservative Action Project, ACRU CEO Susan Carleson and leaders of 37 other organizations representing a broad cross section of the conservative movement have a united message on the "Super Committee."

MEMO FOR THE MOVEMENT: "Super Committee" should focus on Reducing Spending & Stimulating Economic Growth--not increasing taxes.

RE: The Budget Control Act of 2011 created a Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction ("Super Committee") that must vote on a plan with the goal of $1.5 trillion in deficit reduction by November 23. We believe the "Super Committee" should reduce federal spending on the way to a balanced budget, while preserving the ability to protect America and stimulating economic growth--without raising taxes.

 Campaign for Working Families

Wednesday, August 17, 2011

To: Friends & Supporters

From: Gary L. Bauer

2012 Update

  • A new Rasmussen poll shows just how fluid the Republican presidential race is. With Texas Governor Rick Perry now officially a candidate, Rasmussen's survey of likely Republican primary voters finds Perry surging to the top with 29% support, followed by Mitt Romney at 18% and Michele Bachmann at 13%. No other candidate receives double digit support, while 16% of voters remain undecided.
  • Washington was buzzing yesterday after a report that House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan may be reconsidering whether to jump into the presidential contest. His spokesmen stress that he has not yet changed his mind. But Ryan is reportedly discussing the implications of a national campaign with his family during the congressional recess and is being urged by some GOP leaders to get in.
  • Obama's approval rating has fallen to 39% in the latest Gallup poll. Recent state polls reinforce the challenge Obama faces on the road to reelection. Last week, Quinnipiac University found that Obama's approval rating in New York was just 45%, while 49% disapproved. This morning Quinnipiac released a new poll finding that 52% of New Jersey voters disapprove of Obama's job performance, and were split (45%-to-49%) as to whether he deserves to be reelected.

Perry v. Obama

Rick Perry is getting mixed reviews after the launch of his presidential campaign. Many in the media, and even some Republicans, are criticizing Perry for what they feel is over-the-top rhetoric. Speaking in Iowa, Perry suggested that Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke might be guilty of treason if he prints more money. Perry added that Bernanke would be treated "pretty ugly" in Texas.

But what really got the liberals mad was when Perry told the crowd, "I think you want a president who is passionate about America -- that's in love with America." A reporter quickly followed up with a "gotcha question," asking Perry if he felt that President Obama did not love America.

Perry responded: "You need to ask him. ...you're a good reporter, go ask him." The media pounced, accusing Perry of questioning the president's patriotism, which he clearly did not do.

It's Obama who has come closer to questioning his opponents' patriotism. Last week during a speech in Michigan, President Obama said, "There are some in Congress right now who would rather see their opponents lose than see America win." Speaking in Iowa this week, Obama accused congressional conservatives of not putting the "country ahead of party."

Of course, no reporter called out Obama for questioning the patriotism of Republicans in Congress during his taxpayer-funded, non-political bus tour. They were too busy bashing Perry.

By the way, here is a disgusting example of how low the left is willing to go to smear a conservative. While discussing the jobs crisis, Perry referred to the national debt as a "big black cloud that hangs over America." MSNBC host Ed Schultz naturally saw race in Perry's choice of words. On his show Monday night, Schultz said, "That black cloud Perry is talking about is President Obama."

In its desire to see Obama elected, the left willingly played the race card, even against Bill and Hillary Clinton. Now, the left is desperate to get Obama reelected. And liberals are telling us to tone down the rhetoric!

Buffett's Plea -- Tax Me!

When billionaire Warren Buffett penned an essay earlier this week urging Washington politicians to raise taxes on rich people like him, my first thought was to ignore it. After all, this is an old refrain from Mr. Buffett. He backed socialist Obama in 2008 and has regularly complained about the fact that tax rates on capital gains (profits derived from buying and selling assets like stocks, bonds, houses, etc.) are lower than taxes on income.

But even though there was nothing new in Buffett's plea for higher taxes, his essay was received by Big Media and the Obama crowd as proof that even "millionaires and billionaires" know they must pay more. There is only one problem -- Obama's proposed tax hikes are only rhetorically aimed at "fat cats." In reality, his tax hikes begin at $200,000, which would devastate the small businesses that generate job growth.

Even beginning the tax hikes at $200,000 won't put a dent in the massive deficits Obama/Reid/Pelosi have given us. We simply don't have enough rich people to provide all the money Obama wants to spend.

As for Buffett, the hypocrisy is breathtaking. Like any good American, Buffett accumulated his money and did everything possible to legally shelter it from income taxes. Mr. Buffett could donate a billion dollars a year to the feds and he wouldn't miss it. I urge him to do so before he pushes policies that will prevent countless other Americans from being financially successful. If he doesn't do that, then perhaps we should have a special tax on LIBERAL millionaires and billionaires!

"Let Them Eat Cake"

There was urgent news from the White House this morning: "President Barack Obama will deliver a major policy address outlining his plan for deficit reduction and job creation in early September, a senior administration official told POLITICO."

Seriously, folks, that was a "Breaking News" alert delivered to my Inbox at 7:40 this morning. So with 9.1% unemployment, it was absolutely essential for us to know first thing this morning that Obama will give another speech on jobs sometime after he gets back from his 10-day vacation at the uber-elite retreat of Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts. The White House just had another Marie Antoinette moment.

Then again, it fits perfectly with recent statements coming from this administration. For example, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney recently argued that unemployment benefits create jobs. And yesterday Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack defended record food stamp usage as "the most direct stimulus you can get in the economy." If that were true, with 9.1% unemployment and food stamp usage at record rates, the Obama economy should be booming.

That's how pathetic Obama's economic record is, my friends. These safety net programs are examples of how good and generous this country is. But it is a stunning display of economic ignorance to defend them as examples of job creation and stimulus!

Blundering Bureaucrats Get Promoted

The "Fast and Furious" scandal just keeps getting worse. The Los Angeles Times is reporting that weapons from "Operation Fast and Furious" have turned up at nearly a dozen crime scenes across the country. This is in addition to the arms that were used in last year's murder of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.

Now this will really get your blood boiling. Three Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives supervisors who were responsible for the program were recently promoted to management positions in Washington, D.C. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) is furious, and has said, "...it is inconceivable to reward those who spearheaded this disastrous operation with cushy desks in Washington." I couldn't agree more. This is just one more example of the Obama Administration's tendency to reward failure and perpetuate the worst of Big Government.

Quote Of The Day

"We've got folks in America driving Kias and Hyundais. I want to see folks in Korea driving Fords and Chryslers and Chevys."

President Obama delivered these memorable lines right after pulling up in his newly purchased, million-dollar plus presidential bus, which was made in Canada.

 Heritage Action for America

Hold their feet to the fire!

Hold Congress accountable for the debt limit vote.

The debt bill passed this month effectively gives liberal Democrats carte blanche to increase taxes and gut our military. This threatens the very foundation our country was built on.

We must take action now to hold lawmakers accountable for their votes.

As we warned, the spending reductions in the deal negotiated by Speaker John Boehner, President Obama and Senate Democrats were entirely and woefully inadequate. The "cuts" made will do nothing to reduce the current $14.3 trillion debt.

Conservatives have no choice but to hold each member of Congress accountable for their votes on this and other travesties.

Find out what you can do right now to make this possible.

Heritage Action for America is launching a tool to ensure Congress is held accountable. Next week, we are making public for the first time a scorecard that grades every member of Congress based on votes on key bills and amendments.

With your help today, our scorecard will play an instrumental role in shaping future legislation and protecting your freedoms. Our plan is to promote this in Washington and in key Congressional districts. We cannot do this without your immediate help.

Thank you for all you do.

Sincerely,

Michael A. Needham

Chief Executive Officer

Heritage Action for America

P.S. Americans are waking up to the bigger problem at hand and we have a plan. Be a part of the movement to hold Congress' feet to the fire by visiting

There are new details on the scope of violence surrounding thousands of weapons federal agents allegedly allowed to fall into the hands of criminals. The Justice Department reports "Fast and Furious" guns have been recovered at 11 violent crime scenes in the United States. Those crime scenes, in addition to the murder of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry in Dec. 2010, puts the total number of U.S. crime scenes connected to "Fast and Furious" at 12.

Reagan's Stimulus vs. Obama's "Stimulus"   By Dr. Paul G. Kengor, FloydReports.com

How ironic that as America debated its debt ceiling all summer and faced a stunning credit downgrade, the nation approached a most timely anniversary: It was August 13, 1981, that President Reagan signed the Economic Recovery Act. Understanding Reagan's thinking 30 years ago is critical to discerning where we are now.

Reagan's initiative was the antithesis of President Obama's $800-billion "stimulus" that didn't stimulate....

NumbersUSA Members Force Immigration Issue into 2012 Presidential Campaign

Iowa Republican primary debate shows candidates can't skirt the issue

Bring the fight to upcoming California and Florida events

Thank you for helping us make immigration a top issue in last week's Iowa Republican presidential primary debate. Now, we need your help to continue bringing attention to the issue. There are six more debates over the next eight weeks. Together, we must make sure that we get the candidates on record, committed to tackle the immigration crisis.

Two weeks ago, Fox News' debate moderator Bret Baier asked Americans what questions they had for the 2012 Republican presidential debate at the Iowa State Fair. In response to a NumbersUSA alert, our members answered loud and clear, flooding the "Twitter feed" Fox News had set up. The moderators chose five of our members' questions about immigration.

Also, we were able to get boots on the ground at the Iowa Straw Poll. The candidate with the best NumbersUSA presidential immigration grade won, at least in part due to our efforts. NumbersUSA staff and activists also handed out more than a thousand leaflets to straw poll voters, highlighting candidates immigration positions, possibly deciding the final poll results. Rep. Michele Bachmann, who has the best grade from NumbersUSA, narrowly defeated Rep. Ron Paul, who has an "F."

Help us continue to push immigration to the front of the list of issues in the 2012 presidential elections. To do so, we need funds for massive faxing to candidates and putting our people on the ground during debates. This is expensive.

Immigration is having a bigger impact than ever on the American economy, but the current presidential candidates seem reluctant to speak up.

  • The threat of a Congressional amnesty may be off the table for now, but millions of illegal immigrants are still taking American jobs.
  • Congress continues to import an additional 75,000 foreign workers every month at a time when American workers are facing massive unemployment and collapsing wages.
  • The immigration crisis is as severe as ever, and elected officials from both parties have refused to do anything to address the role mass immigration plays in our national jobs crisis.
  • Americans need a president who will take our immigration crisis seriously.

Right now, the political parties and presidential candidates are staking out their positions on immigration. Together, we can influence the candidates to improve their immigration positions and publicly commit to defending the American worker.

  • Will the Republicans reject another open-borders candidate?
  • Will President Obama move to a more reasonable position as he strives for re-election?
  • Can candidates and prospective candidates like Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry, Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney and Herman Cain recognize the urgency voters have about this issue?

They won't recognize the urgency of the immigration issue if they don't hear from us.

In 2008, your actions convinced several candidates to promise firmer action against illegal immigration. Some candidates reversed years of support for amnesty; even Senator John McCain promised to get tougher on illegal immigration. But the issue rarely came up during the debates, convention speeches or political campaigns.

This year, we're changing that. So far, most of the candidates have earned poor grades from NumbersUSA for failing to talk about the immigration crisis or support solutions. We still need to do so much more. Only you can make sure they do. We need to send millions of faxes. We need to reach their campaigns. And we need to make sure that immigration is at the front and center of debates, forums or town halls. All this takes your activism, your faxes, your questions. But it also takes your financial support.

NumbersUSA isn't about helping one candidate or another win. As always, NumbersUSA is non-partisan and we do not endorse candidates. However, we are out to ensure that all our elected leaders understand how uncontrolled, mass immigration threatens jobs and long-term sustainability.

This has to happen this year; if we wait until next year, it will be too late. Once a frontrunner has been crowned, it's all too easy for a candidate to brush the issue under the rug. And once positions have publicly been taken, it's difficult to get politicians to change their minds.

Help us truly make a difference in the 2012 elections: make sure the 2012 nominees understand how Americans really feel about our immigration crisis by making a generous gift today. Please, don't just be an observer as the immigration crisis continues to build.

There are four ways to give:

2) Give by PayPal.

Both Democrats and Republicans were claiming victory on Tuesday in a series of nine summer recall votes in which Democrats unseated two incumbent Republicans but fell short of winning control of the state legislature.

Democrats had hoped to win a majority in the state senate following a fierce battle with Governor Scott Walker and his Republican allies earlier this year over public workers' union powers that involved mass protests, legislative maneuvering and court challenges.

Silicon Valley billionaire funding creation of artificial libertarian island

Going Galt?

Pay Pal founder and early Facebook investor Peter Thiel has given $1.25 million to an initiative to create floating libertarian countries in international waters, according to a profile of the billionaire in Details magazine.

Thiel has been a big backer of the Seasteading Institute, which seeks to build sovereign nations on oil rig-like platforms to occupy waters beyond the reach of law-of-the-sea treaties. The idea is for these countries to start from scratch--free from the laws, regulations, and moral codes of any existing place. Details says the experiment would be "a kind of floating petri dish for implementing policies that libertarians, stymied by indifference at the voting booths, have been unable to advance: no welfare, looser building codes, no minimum wage, and few restrictions on weapons."

All three have been heavily criticized for pushing the program forward even as it became apparent that it was out of control. At least 2,000 guns were lost and many turned up at crime scenes in Mexico and two at the killing of a U.S. Border Patrol agent in Arizona.

FOOD STAMPS USA---EAT WELL MY FRIEND

If this story upsets you, check out the rest of the story at the end!

This receipt was picked up in the parking lot of a store in Michigan.

There are presently 43,200,878 people on food stamps in the US ..  (That's 43 MILLION).  Obama will tell you food stamps & welfare "stimulate the economy".

This is an increase of 35.1% in 3 years.

There is nothing better than porterhouse steaks and lobster.  Especially when YOU (the TAXPAYER) are buying.

It's no wonder politicans continue to provide free handouts in exchange for votes.

(The Rest of the Story . . . Below)

Purchaser resold items at a profit

On the face of it, the case does seem too flagrant and over-the-top to be true - and now we know why. According to the Menominee County Sheriff's Department, local and state investigators have discovered that the reason the cardholder bought such large quantities of lobster, steak, and soda was not to "dine like a king," as some have characterized it, but to resell them for profit. And that is illegal. The accused, one Louis Cuff, has been charged with welfare fraud and faces up to five years in prison if convicted.

SAVING MEDICARE

Since 1964, our nation's senior citizens have relied on Medicare to ensure access to healthcare. Now the program is going broke -- and it is going broke fast.

It began spending its reserves in 2008 when payouts exceeded dollars collected for the program. [cite]

Predictions for exhaustion of the reserve vary, with 2024 identified by the Social Security Administration in the Trustees 2011 report. [cite]

The Democrat response is to reduce the amount Medicare reimburses physicians for their services. [cite]

This will result in fewer participating physicians and the physicians continuing in the program seeing fewer Medicare patients.

Patients will wait longer and have fewer choices in seeing a doctor.

If this makes access to care sufficiently untenable, or if Medicare does not get on viable financial footing, it will be administered through ObamaCare[cite].

This would include cost controls by a 15-member board of bureaucrats deciding wich treatments, drugs, and surgeries patients can receive.

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), Chairman of the House Committee on the Budget, has a plan which saves Medicare with no disruption to today's seniors and reasonable changes for future retirees.

The Ryan Plan is widely misunderstood and misrepresented. The future of our seniors' healthcare is too important to be decided on misinformation. Here are the facts about Medicare and the Ryan Plan.

The Ryan Plan in a Nutshell

Those currently retired and those close to retirement (55 and over) will see no change from the existing Medicare system. Existing physician reimbursement flaws will be corrected to encourage physicians to continue participating in the system.[cite]

On retirement, those currently under 55 will be provided vouchers from the government to help pay for health insurance. Voucher amounts will be based in part on income, with wealthier individuals receiving less assistance. Risk pools [cite] will be created to ensure that insurance companies will provide coverage to seniors, despite their generally higher use of medical care.

The result is retirees will have a system that gives them options, similar to that which members of Congress use and which will include options similar to Medicare Advantage, the popular plan eliminated by Obamacare. [cite]

The Ryan Plan Incorporates These Important Points

It is important that we

Plan now for changes, to avoid chaos later

The medicare system is running out of money. Change is coming, one way or another.

Pretending we can continue as we are is not an option, it is a recipe for disaster. The longer we wait to make changes, the greater the disruption to current and future retires, the more abruptly the changes will have to be implemented, and the fewer options we will have.

By implementing the Ryan Plan now, we will

  • maintain the existing system for current retirees and for individuals 55 and over
  • provide a sustainable, quality system for future retirees.

It is important that we...

Preserve the existing system, unchanged, for current retirees and workers 55 and older

This bears repeating:

  • Under the Ryan Plan, if you are retired, your Medicare coverage will not change.
  • If you are over 55, Medicare as it exists today will be there for you when you retire.
  • And the Ryan Plan provides for quality health insurance coverage upon retirement for those currently under 55.

It is important that we...

Maintain availability of insurance coverage for future retirees

Since individuals generally require more medical care as they age, it tends to be difficult for older individuals to find private health insurance that will cover them. That is one reason our existing Medicare system is considered so important for many. The Ryan Plan creates risk pools which encourage multiple insurance companies to offer health coverage to those of retirement age.

It is important that we...

Maintain affordability

Individuals have paid into the Medicare system with the promise that coverage will be there for them when they retire. Unfortunately, we are facing an economic crisis in this country and Medicare is a significant part of the problem. To save the system for everyone and to avert broader economic calamity, in the future wealthier Americans will have to bear a greater portion of their healthcare burden.

It is important that we...

Make it feasible for doctors to participate in Medicare

Currently in many areas of the country physicans are reimbursed for Medicare patients at a rate that does not cover their expenses. Recent changes put forth by the Democrats further reduce reimbursement. [cite] This is not sustainable for any business and as a result increasing numbers of physicians are discontinuing their participation in the Medcare program. Patients are finding that their physician is no longer a Medicare provider and when they look for another physician it is increasingly difficult for them to find a Medicare provider who is accepting new patients and can see them in a reasonable time. [cite]. The Ryan plan fixes the reimbursement problem, making it feasible for physicians to continue participating in Medicare.

It is important that we...

Keep medical decisions between patients and doctors, not remote government panels

The Ryan plan harnesses the free market and puts choice in the hands of the patient. Retirees will be able to pick the insurance plan that best meets their needs, applying government vouchers toward premium costs. Medical decisions would be made in consultation with their personal physician, based on the individual's situation and preferences.

Tea Partiers are terrorists? Don't tell that to union thugs and Louis Farrakhan

Vice President Biden has reportedly called the Tea Party terrorists. MSNBC practically defines them the same way (with zero evidence). But there's complete silence when Louis Farrakhan says the Ft. Hood shooter isn't the terrorist, no, it's the American soldiers who are the terrorists. Yes, he actually said that. Does that make his mosque a radical one? You'd think - but so far: crickets. Glenn has audio and reaction on radio today - the story at GlennBeck.com.

Obamanomics: food stamps = job creation??

If you didn't think it could get any dumber than Nancy Pelosi's suggestion that unemployment checks were a great job creator -- you were wrong. Now the Obama administration is doubling down and saying that food stamps, yes food stamps, is the most 'direct' stimulus possible and creates jobs. Well then, unemployment checks and food stamps for everybody! Economy fixed! Get the insane Obama administration audio supporting the food stamp economic plan HERE.

'Scab' gets shot by union thugs

The owner of a non-union electrical contracting company was the target of vandalism, and when he saw a security light go on at his home and went to investigate -- things really got serious. As the owner stepped outside he was shot and wounded before the suspect fled. No one has been apprehended, but it shouldn't be that difficult to solve - the idiot wrote 'scab' on the side of his car. More violence from the left that the media will ignore. Glenn has the story and interviews the victim on radio today. WATCH
