Funeral Information for Philadelphia Navy Seal killed in Afghanistan helo crash

Dear Patriots and Troop Supporters;

We were saddened last week to hear about the deaths of so many of our wonderful Navy Seals and troops in the helicopter crash in Afghanistan.

The following information was passed along to me by the father of a recent USNA graduate who is now a Navy Seal. He wanted this information shared with those who might wish to attend the funeral services and honor this brave man and pay respect to his family. As a Gold Star Mother I know how much the outreach from the community can mean to the grieving family. Your presence tells them they are not alone and that their son's death was not without meaning and purpose. That's what pulls you through something like this. Let them know you care.

Services have been arranged for PO1 Michael Strange as follows;

Viewing to be held Thursday 8/18/11 at 11:00 am at The Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, 18th & JFK Parkway.

Mass to begin at 3 pm after the viewing.

Military Honor Services to be conducted immediately following the Mass in the park directly outside the cathedral.

Warriors' Watch Rider's will escort PO1 Strange's remains from the Funeral Home to the Cathedral. We will then form a flag line, to be in place during visitation.

Rally Time TBD, estimated 8am. More info to come. (God bless the Warrior's Watch Riders)

Thank you Michael Strange for answering the call of duty.

God bless you and may God continue to bless America,

Helene Eissler

THESE PHOTOS JUST BECAME DECLASSIFIED - FROM 9/11

The anniversary of 9/11 is coming up.  We must never forget what happened and who was responsible.  The threat is still with us of more destruction to come.  Those radical islamist tell us so all the time.  We all seem to dismiss it.  We must press our Congress to look into all those who may be amongst us now training and getting ready to launch another attack.  We must never allow a mosque to built any where near that sacred ground.  Please be at the rally on 9/11 as the Mayor has given approval for the mosque to be built.

We the people must rise up and say NO!

Press Release:

AFDI/SIOA 9/11 Freedom Rally:

Stand Against Ground Zero Mosque, and Durban III, Stand for America

NEW YORK, July 6: The human rights organization American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) will be hosting its second annual 9/11 Freedom Rally on September 11 at 3pm at Park Place and West Broadway.

Free citizens are coming from all over the U.S. to attend the rally. "It is crucial to stand for freedom on this tenth anniversary of the heinous 9/11 jihad attacks," said AFDI Executive Director Pamela Geller. "We must show the jihadists we are unbowed in the defense of freedom."

AFDI and its Stop Islamization of America (SIOA) program are encouraging all Americans to stand against the Islamic supremacist mega-mosque at Ground Zero and the anti-Semitic Durban III conference that will be held in New York City at the same time, and for American values on the tenth anniversary of the worst attack ever on American soil.

The confirmed list of speakers includes 9/11 family members Alexander and Maureen Santora, who lost their firefighter son Christopher; Sally Regenhard, whose son Christian was killed on 9/11; Nelly Braginsky, who lost her son Alexander; and others.

Other speakers include former U. S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton (video message); the courageous ex-Muslim human rights activist Wafa Sultan; war hero and North Carolina Congressional candidate Ilario Pantano; former prosecutor and bestselling author Andrew C. McCarthy; popular radio host Joyce Kaufman; Darla Dawald, National Director of the Patriot Action Network; James Lafferty of the Virginia Anti-Sharia Taskforce (VAST); Coptic Christian activist Joseph Nassralla; Iraqi ex-Muslim Paul Gaynos.

Hosting the rally are Pamela Geller, publisher of the acclaimed AtlasShrugs.com blog, executive director of AFDI and SIOA, and author of Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance (WND Books); and AFDI/SIOA associate director Robert Spencer, the bestselling author and director of Jihad Watch.

Building the Ground Zero mosque is not an issue of religious freedom, but of resisting an effort to insult the victims of 9/11 and to establish a beachhead for political Islam and Islamic supremacism in New York. Cordoba Initiative board member imam Feisal Abdul Rauf is an open proponent of Sharia, Islamic law, a system that denies the freedom of speech, the freedom of conscience, and the equality of rights of all people before the law. Given the thousands of triumphal mosques that have been built on the cherished sites of conquered peoples throughout Islamic history, the mosque leaders' claim that this mosque would be understood differently by Muslims worldwide lack foundation.

The Durban III conference follows upon two previous conferences that scapegoated and demonized the state of Israel in service of Islamic jihad and Islamic supremacist interests. The rally will defend Israel against the defamation to which it will be subjected at this conference. It will also call upon the city to remove roadblocks to the reconstruction of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, which was destroyed on 9/11 and since then mired in bureaucratic red tape that has prevented its rebuilding - in stark contrast to the help Mayor Bloomberg and other city officials have given to the Ground Zero Mosque project.

AFDI/SIOA is one of America's foremost organizations defending human rights, religious liberty, and the freedom of speech against Islamic supremacist intimidation and attempts to bring elements of Sharia to the United States.

Restoring Courage - Jerusalem 2011

"We have gone to the capitals of our states and to the capitals of our government.  We have talked to all the power brokers.  The only power broker, the only seat of government that can and will solve this problem with or without us is God.  It is time to return inside the walls that surround Jerusalem and stand with people of all faiths, all around the world," Glenn said in his initial announcement.

"In August, whether I'm there with seven people or 10 people or there alone, I will stand.  I ask you to join me.  I also ask you to take this message globally, to take this to every corner of the earth.  If you have family living overseas, this is not an America solution.  This is a people of faith solution.  This is a people all over the world solution.  I ask you to help get this word out."

ZOA

Shalom ZOA Members, Friends and Supporters of Israel,

One month from today - Thursday, Sept 8 - Philadelphia ZOA will hold its first Tribute Gala in more than a decade and we invite you to be there for this evening to celebrate Israel, express the community's gratitude to two key figures and have an enjoyable evening out.

  • We hope you will be there two help us thank two very special men: Dom Giordano, a journalist cut from the cloth of a time when the truth mattered and who thus has become an ardent activist for Israel, and Rabbi Fred Kazan, a man who for generations has encouraged a love for Israel among his congregants and has been outspoken in his devotion to the Jewish State.

  • We hope you will attend not only to hear the wisdom and candor of our honorees but also the insights of keynote speaker Jonathan Tobin and ZOA National President Mort Klein, and the enjoyable and thoughtful running commentary of Gary Erlbaum, our master-of-ceremonies.

  • We hope you will attend to support the work of Philadelphia ZOA. Frankly there is no group in our area that matches our dedication to a secure and vibrant Jewish State of Israel and that has the level of activities that we do. As we face the present threats to Israel and look to prepare for the future,  we need to do more now and increase our outreach to the younger Jewish community and potential allies, and such ambitions take resources.

  • Finally, we hope you will attend to partake in an evening of stirring and heartfelt speeches, good kosher food and dessert, and warm Zionist camaraderie all for a good cause.

The event will take place at the Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue, 4200 City Avenue, Philadelphia. The VIP reception will include a glatt-kosher buffet and open bar and begins at 6 p.m. The award ceremony takes place at 7:45 and will be followed by a dessert reception.

We have set up a special ticket hotline you can reach by calling 215-333-1729. You must have a ticket to attend and we do expect a sellout. Please spread the word about this event to your email lists, friends, colleagues and family. Post it to Facebook and other social-networking sites.

We look forward to seeing you on September 8.

RedState

RedState Morning Briefing

For August 17, 2011

1. Obama's audacious taxpayer-funded reelection campaign bus tour

Obama thinks we should pay for this reelection campaign bus tour because, in the now infamous words of Press Secretary Carney:

"He's the President of the United States."

You can see the "context" of Carney's comment here.

The political nature of Obama's trip so blatant that the biased media wing of the Democrats' party is not even trying to hide it:

  • The Voice of America calls the bus tour a "Three-State Counteroffensive."
  • Reuters refers to the bus tour as "campaign mode" and "unmistakable campaign style."
  • The Associated Press reports that Obama starts a "political counteroffensive this week."

The Republican National Committee has dubbed Obama's taxpayer-funded reelection campaign bus tour the RNC has dubbed the trip the "Debt-End Bus Tour," or "DEBT."

2. The Greyhound To Nowhere

A lot is wrong in Washington, DC. In response to these problems, President Obama has gotten out of town. He has gone on what RS Colleague, Dan Spencer accurately describes as a taxpayer funded campaign jaunt through Minnesota, Illinois and Iowa. He'll be out speaking from 15 to 17 August. The President can run, but he cannot hide. The problem is not primarily in Washington, DC. The problem is the very man who organized this Greyhound ride to nowhere.

He argues that he is presenting a new economic package to demonstrate his newfound focus on jobs.

Please click here for the rest of the post.

3. Obama is a Big Black Cloud, says Ed Schultz

The below video from Breitbart.tv (h/t Larry O'Connor) shows one of the most blatant, race-baiting moments in recent memory. But not from the person MSNBC wants you to think it came from.

"That big black cloud that hangs over America, that debt that is so monstrous." - Rick Perry

"That black cloud Perry is talking about is President Barack Obama." - Ed Schultz

No Ed, the black cloud is "that debt", as the undoctored video shows. Even by MSNBC standards, this selective editing by Ed Schultz, expressly to paint Perry as a racist, is pretty appalling. The ostensibly-more-credible-than-Ed-Schultz ABC News' "The Note" blog also used the doctored quote (subsequently amended to clarify Perry was talking about the economy).
The fact that this is manufactured, however, didn't stop some guy at Loop21 saying "Let's hope he doesn't actually start "hanging" these big black clouds he speaks of." Hip Hop Wired ran an article titled "Governor Rick Perry Calls President Obama A "Big Black Cloud" which not only ran the doctored quote, but a completely manufactured one

White House reporter April Ryan tweeted: "Rick Perry's words 'a black cloud over this country.' He knows exactly what he is saying and appealing to. http://t.co/dd9epbl". And dozens more such tweets from all manner of tweeters on the left.

4. Ohio Business Owner Shot For Being Non-Union, Police Investigating

With around 25 employees, John King owns one of the largest non-union electrical contracting businesses in the Toledo, Ohio area. As a non-union contractor, his business happens to be doing well at a time when unions in the construction industry are suffering. This, it seems, has made the usual animosity unions have for him even greater, making him a prime target of union thugs. So much so, that one of them tried to kill him last week at his home.

5. GOP Must Hold the Line Against Obama's ATM Politics With Free Trade

As Obama travels through America's heartland on his teleprompter tours bus, he is touting a new plan to create jobs. While he has offered few specifics thus far, Obama is calling for the ratification of the free trade agreements (FTAs) with Columbia, Panama, and South Korea as vehicles for job creation. The rest of his jobs (killing) plan will be released at some later date, possibly at the time when Huntsman releases his proposal.

This newfound support for free enterprise is quite perplexing, given that he has held the FTAs hostage for a pet welfare program, Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA), since the day he became president.

6. Is Karl Rove Afraid of Being Marginalized?

Two nights ago Karl Rove started buzzing about Paul Ryan, Chris Christie, and others getting into the 2012 race.

Yesterday morning, around 10:30, Karl took a shot at Rick Perry on Stuart Varney's show on Fox.

Karl Rove's political director for American Crossroads is now working for Mitt Romney. And the word among several reporter friends is that the reason Mitt Romney came out of the Mittness Protection Program when he did was because Rove and friends wanted him to start raising his profile in anticipation of a Perry entry.

So I'm wondering if Karl is worried about staying relevant should Perry gain too much momentum.

If so, Perry better watch out The attacks will come fast and furious.

Susan's Paul Ryan Medicare Pamphlet - please print this and give it to your contacts

SAVING MEDICARE

Since 1964, our nation's senior citizens have relied on Medicare to ensure access to healthcare. Now the program is going broke -- and it is going broke fast.

It began spending its reserves in 2008 when payouts exceeded dollars collected for the program. [cite]

Predictions for exhaustion of the reserve vary, with 2024 identified by the Social Security Administration in the Trustees 2011 report. [cite]

The Democrat response is to reduce the amount Medicare reimburses physicians for their services. [cite]

This will result in fewer participating physicians and the physicians continuing in the program seeing fewer Medicare patients.

Patients will wait longer and have fewer choices in seeing a doctor.

If this makes access to care sufficiently untenable, or if Medicare does not get on viable financial footing, it will be administered through ObamaCare[cite].

This would include cost controls by a 15-member board of bureaucrats deciding wich treatments, drugs, and surgeries patients can receive.

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), Chairman of the House Committee on the Budget, has a plan which saves Medicare with no disruption to today's seniors and reasonable changes for future retirees.

The Ryan Plan is widely misunderstood and misrepresented. The future of our seniors' healthcare is too important to be decided on misinformation. Here are the facts about Medicare and the Ryan Plan.

The Ryan Plan in a Nutshell

Those currently retired and those close to retirement (55 and over) will see no change from the existing Medicare system. Existing physician reimbursement flaws will be corrected to encourage physicians to continue participating in the system.[cite]

On retirement, those currently under 55 will be provided vouchers from the government to help pay for health insurance. Voucher amounts will be based in part on income, with wealthier individuals receiving less assistance. Risk pools [cite] will be created to ensure that insurance companies will provide coverage to seniors, despite their generally higher use of medical care.

The result is retirees will have a system that gives them options, similar to that which members of Congress use and which will include options similar to Medicare Advantage, the popular plan eliminated by Obamacare. [cite]

The Ryan Plan Incorporates These Important Points

It is important that we

Plan now for changes, to avoid chaos later

The medicare system is running out of money. Change is coming, one way or another.

Pretending we can continue as we are is not an option, it is a recipe for disaster. The longer we wait to make changes, the greater the disruption to current and future retires, the more abruptly the changes will have to be implemented, and the fewer options we will have.

By implementing the Ryan Plan now, we will

  • maintain the existing system for current retirees and for individuals 55 and over
  • provide a sustainable, quality system for future retirees.

It is important that we...

Preserve the existing system, unchanged, for current retirees and workers 55 and older

This bears repeating:

  • Under the Ryan Plan, if you are retired, your Medicare coverage will not change.
  • If you are over 55, Medicare as it exists today will be there for you when you retire.
  • And the Ryan Plan provides for quality health insurance coverage upon retirement for those currently under 55.

It is important that we...

Maintain availability of insurance coverage for future retirees

Since individuals generally require more medical care as they age, it tends to be difficult for older individuals to find private health insurance that will cover them. That is one reason our existing Medicare system is considered so important for many. The Ryan Plan creates risk pools which encourage multiple insurance companies to offer health coverage to those of retirement age.

It is important that we...

Maintain affordability

Individuals have paid into the Medicare system with the promise that coverage will be there for them when they retire. Unfortunately, we are facing an economic crisis in this country and Medicare is a significant part of the problem. To save the system for everyone and to avert broader economic calamity, in the future wealthier Americans will have to bear a greater portion of their healthcare burden.

It is important that we...

Make it feasible for doctors to participate in Medicare

Currently in many areas of the country physicans are reimbursed for Medicare patients at a rate that does not cover their expenses. Recent changes put forth by the Democrats further reduce reimbursement. [cite] This is not sustainable for any business and as a result increasing numbers of physicians are discontinuing their participation in the Medcare program. Patients are finding that their physician is no longer a Medicare provider and when they look for another physician it is increasingly difficult for them to find a Medicare provider who is accepting new patients and can see them in a reasonable time. [cite]. The Ryan plan fixes the reimbursement problem, making it feasible for physicians to continue participating in Medicare.

It is important that we...

Keep medical decisions between patients and doctors, not remote government panels

The Ryan plan harnesses the free market and puts choice in the hands of the patient. Retirees will be able to pick the insurance plan that best meets their needs, applying government vouchers toward premium costs. Medical decisions would be made in consultation with their personal physician, based on the individual's situation and preferences.

Abbas' Vision of an Ethnically Cleansed Palestinian State

A delegation of Democratic members of Congress met with Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas yesterday and received a blunt message about his vision for the state he hopes to lead. If he gets the independent Palestinian he says he wants, it will have no Jewish settlements.

This demand for an ethnically cleansed Palestine would mean the forced removal of all Jews living in the territories. Since he is calling for that state to exist in all of the territory of the West Bank, Gaza and the part of Jerusalem that was illegally occupied by Jordan from 1949 to 1967, that would mean in theory the eviction of over a half a million Jews to accommodate his ambition.

While Israel has in the past said that it would not wish to leave Jews behind in a Palestinian state, the motivation was quite different. Any Jew left at the mercy of Palestinians would probably last about as long as the greenhouses that were left behind in Gaza when Israel withdrew from there in 2005. No Israeli government would wish to be held responsible for the inevitable slaughter of Jews in Palestinian territory.

Patriot Action Network

Grassfire

Dear Patriot,

The developers behind the Ground Zero Mosque have re-emerged
with a new plan to build a mosque in the same location that
caused such an uproar last year.

And now they are using the 10-year anniversary of 9/11 to
promote a major fundraising goal of the campaign. According
to a New York City news outlet, Mosque organizers seek to
raise $7 million by September 10, which of course coincides
with the 9/11 anniversary.

Ground Zero Mosque organizers are also trying to re-sell
their mosque in kinder, gentler language. But the facts
remain the same: millions of dollars are about to be pumped
into a major Muslim center and now organizers are using the
9/11 tragedy to promote their efforts.

Grassfire Nation and the Patriot Action Network are taking
part in a major rally in New York City on 9/11 to honor
those who have fallen and oppose this new version of the
Ground Zero Mosque. During these events we will be presenting
the petition you signed as well as delivering your petition
to Mayor Bloomberg's office.

+ + A special gift to 9/11 family members and first responders

Also at this rally and other events taking place that weekend,
we want to give our 9/11 Remembrance lapel pin to the thousands
of first responders and family members of victims as a special
gift from fellow Americans.

Thousands of family members and first responders are expected
to be in attendance at the 9/11 events. What a great way to
show the family members and first responders that fellow
Americans share in their sorrow and sacrifice.

But to do so, I need your help. In order to have the pins
ready for 9/11, we must place our order for 9/11 Remembrance
Pins by this weekend.

Will you sponsor a 9/11 family member or first
responder to receive as a special gift from
fellow Americans our 9/11 Remembrance pin? Please
           go here to help:

http://www.grassfire.com/3158/offer.asp?Ref_ID=500133

I'm hoping that hundreds or even thousands of Grassfire
Nation team members will step forward and sponsor at least
one person to receive the Remembrance Pin as a gift.

We believe this is a fitting way to honor the sacrifice of
those who have fallen and the service of the heroic first
responders.

Thanks for your consideration,

Steve Elliott

Senator Patrick Leahy claims Shayetet 13 unit, undercover Duvdevan unit, and the Israel Air Force Shaldag unit are involved in human rights violations in occupied territories.

By Barak Ravid

U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy is promoting a bill to suspend U.S. assistance to three elite Israel Defense Forces units, alleging they are involved in human rights violations in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Leahy, a Democrat and senior member of the U.S. Senate, wants assistance withheld from the Israel Navy's Shayetet 13 unit, the undercover Duvdevan unit and the Israel Air Force's Shaldag unit.

Tutu's war on Israel, Jews

Special: Archbishop Tutu leads vile, racist campaign against Israel and Jewish people

Giulio Meotti

Archbishop Desmond Tutu, whose role in the fight against South African apartheid in the 1980s gained him the Nobel Peace Prize and global fame, is among the world's most respected figures.

Barack Obama awarded him the US highest honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Tutu has been called "an inspiration" and was compared to Albert Schweitzer and Gandhi. The Wall Street Journal labeled him "the best known priest in the world." Tutu was even asked to donate his genome to scientists to discover the African roots of mankind.

With Nelson Mandela in jail, it fell to Tutu to steer the struggle against institutionalized racial oppression in a nonviolent direction. From his church in segregated Soweto, Tutu urged the imposition of economic sanctions against the white government. Since then, Tutu's face has become the symbol of tolerance and goodness.

However, the Archbishop's iconic voice has also found another cause no less popular: The global campaign against Israel and the Jewish people. Tutu just promoted an appeal to the US pension fund of the Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association for cutting the partnership with Israeli companies. He also helped the Australian Marrickville Council approve a boycott of Israel's goods.

Fellow patriots,

To get a sense of the scale of this Muslim-restricted community/colony, check out the video that comes with this website advertizing this "Islamic Village" in Dallas, Texas:

To hear an Imam talk about this plan for colonizing the United States, check out this video, entitled "Establishing the Muslim Village": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRyNYl6jwqk

Wake-up call!

Dave

Below is the home page's text, but you really have to click the link and see the video to appreciate the scale of this "self-sufficient" colony:

Islamic Village

More than thirty years ago, the Islamic Association of North Texas (IANT) was established to serve the local Muslim community. Since then, our community has grown considerably, and so have our needs. As we inaugurate our next quarter-century in North Texas, we introduce a novel community idea: the Islamic Village Project, a Muslim neighborhood."

Project Overview

The Islamic Village Project is a multi-million dollar project that will foster great change in the Muslim community of Dallas. It will house a senior center, Youth center, Social Services department, residential quarters, play area for the children, retail center, clinic, and a separate building for IQA and Suffa Islamic Seminary classes. The project will extend from the current Masjid facility at Abrams, on the North and South side of Spring Valley across from the masjid, and West towards Greenville.

Educational Complex

One of the cornerstones of the Islamic Village will be it Educational Complex housing our IANT Quranic Academy and Suffa Islamic Seminary under the leadership of Imam Yusuf Ziya Kavakci. In addition, the Educational Complex is expected to have a Youth Center, Day Care Facilities, and playground areas for children of all ages.

Revenue

The Village aims to be a self-sufficient neighborhood. One of the key attributes of the Islamic Village project is its large and sprawling retail and office complex. It is anticipated that this retail/office complex will consist of four multi story buildings providing prime frontage for retail and inside space for offices. Together these buildings will provide more than 60,000 Sq. ft. of lease space. IANT plans to use this complex as a base for its future WAQF. This will go well towards reaching our goal of developing revenue generating projects as part of the Islamic Village which will bring over $1 Million in income to IANT each year.

Instead, though, it has the characteristics of a political campaign swing, and the rhetoric the President has brought along for the ride is marked by a desperate effort to blame someone other than himself for America's economic woes.

Applying First Principles to the Issues of Today

Fight Poverty, not Inequality

President Obama wants to change poverty in America-not by introducing an innovative new program to fight it, but by changing the way we define it. He wants to make poverty a measure of inequality, instead of a standard of actual need. To end poverty and eliminate the gap between the rich and the poor, though, requires disregarding the importance of property rights.

When the Left measures poverty they look to the possessions of the rich rather than the needs of the poor. That they care more about the existence of inequality than the material condition of the poor is evident in their response to a recent Heritage report about the severity of material poverty in America. The Left doesn't dispute the report's findings: They admit that the poor commonly have adequate housing, food, and medical care along with televisions, and Xboxes. Instead, the Left downplays the fact that "people in poverty may be able to buy food and have a TV" and instead focuses on "the disparity in income between the haves and the have-nots."

The Left's obsession with inequality is rooted in their fundamental misunderstanding of property rights-property rights are not some exclusive privilege of the rich to keep down the poor, but a right to acquire that all possess. As Matthew Spalding explains in his book We Still Hold These Truths, the Founders strongly defended everyone's right not only to hold property, but to acquire it. The Founders' dynamic understanding of property rights creates an energetic society where wealth and success correspond to merit not birth, and where individuals work hard knowing they can reap the rewards of their labor.

When everyone can own and acquire property according to their individual talents, inequality will result. But in America, no one is perpetually stuck in poverty no matter how hard they work, and no one is secure in wealth no matter how many bad decisions they make. Thanks to the unlimited opportunity concomitant with property rights people can gain wealth, lose it, and gain it again. This is the genius of social mobility. Property rights and economic freedom provide a ladder of opportunity available to everyone that prevents poverty from becoming a permanent condition.

If someone does fall into abject poverty (either because of poor decisions or bad luck), civil society must help that person get back on his feet. As a last resort, government must provide a limited and temporary safety net-not to create equal results, but to help people back on their feet. The most effective tools for mitigating poverty are not to be found in a vast, impersonal bureaucracy hell-bent on redistribution of wealth. The tools that have supported years of unmatched prosperity are strong property rights and an unlimited opportunity to succeed.

 Campaign for Working Families

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

To: Friends & Supporters

From: Gary L. Bauer

Bush, Boehner & Bad Luck

Hitting the campaign trail yesterday in Iowa and Minnesota, President Obama made some truly remarkable and revealing statements. They were remarkable for their total disconnect from reality and revealed much about his mindset.

In Minnesota, Obama blamed congressional Republicans and John Boehner for the recent downgrade and chaos on Wall Street. Obama said:

"I put a deal before the Speaker of the House, John Boehner, that would have solved this problem and he walked away because his belief was we can't ask anything of millionaires and billionaires and big corporations in order to close our deficit."

John Boehner walked away because Obama had no "deal." Obama's party was on the verge of a revolt (here, here and here ). Moreover, raising taxes on small business owners, who Obama derisively refers to as "millionaires and billionaires," isn't the way to grow the economy or create jobs.

In Iowa, Obama suggested that he had fixed the economy but that "bad luck" got in the way. Obama said: "We had reversed the recession ... gotten the economy moving again. But over the last six months we've had a run of bad luck," referring to the Arab Spring, the tsunami in Japan and the debt crisis in Europe.

Exactly when did Obama get the economy "moving again"? When Obama took office, the unemployment rate was 7.8%. Nine months into his administration it hit 10.1%. Thirteen months later, in November 2010, it was 9.8%. Today the unemployment rate is still unacceptably high. I'm sure the end of the recession will come as news to millions of unemployed Americans.

But never fear -- Obama has a plan. He told Iowans that when he gets back from his Martha's Vineyard vacation, "I'll be putting forward a very specific plan to boost the economy, to create jobs and to control the deficit. And my attitude will be, 'Get it done.' ...the choice [in 2012] will be very stark and the choice will be very clear."

Where has this "very specific plan" been for the past two and a half years? If he had a plan, why haven't we seen it? I hope it's not more "green jobs."

Obama's speeches were predictable. He never, never, never takes responsibility for anything, unless it is good. For his first two years, Obama blamed every problem on George W. Bush; yesterday, he blamed bad luck and John Boehner.

Obama's insistence on raising taxes also reveals that he is committed to class warfare. It is more than just a talking point for him. We learned (or should have learned) everything we need to know about Barack Obama when he looked Joe the Plumber in the eye and said that he wanted to "spread the wealth around." This was a man who wanted to start his own small business; Joe the Plumber was not a "millionaire or billionaire." He was just an average guy hoping to make a better life.

Obama is not only committed to class warfare, but he is also committed to big government solutions. Yesterday, Obama said that ObamaCare's individual mandate "should not be controversial." That is a very revealing statement about Obama's mindset.

Last week a federal court declared the mandate unconstitutional, ruling that it was "a wholly novel and potentially unbounded assertion of [government] authority." Obama, we are told, used to be a constitutional law professor. Yet he can't understand why folks would be upset when the federal government tries to mandate how individuals spend their own money -- something that has never before been done in our nation's history.

Tea Party Activist Confronts Obama

A town hall meeting in Iowa yesterday briefly went "off script" when a Tea Party activist confronted President Obama about the left's hypocrisy. Most of the questioners from the crowd seemed like liberal plants who threw Obama softball pitches. But Ryan Rhodes asked Obama how he could demand a more civil political discourse when Joe Biden was calling Tea Party members "terrorists."

As we have seen so many times before, Obama did not appreciate being confronted and he initially tried to ignore Rhodes' question. When pressed later on, Obama lied and said Biden never used the term.

Again, Obama seems to have trouble with reality. The source for this widely reported Biden quote came from Politico, a left-leaning, but well-respected publication. Moreover, Politico was reporting on a closed-door meeting of congressional Democrats. So there were no conservatives in the room who might have misconstrued Biden's remarks.

Cameron Confronts "Moral Collapse"

In England, the left has embraced social permissiveness for decades, while conservatives have largely surrendered in the cultural war. The political parties rarely speak about values issues or the link between liberty and virtue. That may be changing as Prime Minister David Cameron appears to be finding his voice.

Many Britons are rightly outraged as coddled teenagers have rioted in recent days, burning businesses and looting, while the police have appeared impotent. Prime Minister Cameron is now speaking to the concerns of Britain's law-abiding citizens, as a recent poll found that nearly three-quarters of those surveyed rejected the left's arguments that the riots were caused by unemployment and budget cuts.

Yesterday Cameron vowed to end Britain's "slow-motion moral collapse." He blamed political correctness and the unwillingness to address values for contributing to the crisis. Cameron said, "In this risk-free ground of moral neutrality, there are no bad choices, just different lifestyles. 'Live and let live' becomes 'Do what you please.'"

Cameron is right. The left too often confuses liberty with licentiousness. Thus the destruction of an innocent life simply becomes a woman's "choice." Marriage is no longer about what is best for children and society, but rather about treating different lifestyles equally.

Whoever wins the Republican presidential nomination must be able to offer solutions to the pressing economic concerns of our time. But they must also be willing to defend the fundamental values of millions of Americans who cherish faith, family and freedom.

UN's Agenda 21 forcing society back to the Ghetto

By Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh  Monday, August 15, 2011

I came across an article from Baton Rouge, LA, with a sugary title like an elementary singsong, "Grow Forth and Prosper." Then I zoomed in on the subtitle, "Smart Growth proponents say building up may save Baton Rouge - but only if we do it the right way." I am not sure which way Kendra R. Chamberlain understands it, but it is obviously the UN Agenda 21 way.

Such articles supporting Smart Growth, Smart Meters, and Sustainable Development have started to appear across the country with regularity in support of UN Agenda 21's goals of destroying our economy, control and reduce our population, control our land use, redistribution of wealth, under the guise of protecting our environment. Slowly but surely, they have made great strides across the U.S. with very little opposition or understanding from the population. None of the articles mentions UN Agenda 21 at all.

Take Smart Meters for example, they have been installed in Maryland with the help of power company bribes ranging from $40-100, being sold as good for the environment. Now people are suffering six hours every day when their electricity is remotely cut off at consumption peaks.

Rick Perry tied to Agenda 21: Selling Texas to foreigners, jabs Obama for same

  • By Terri Hall, San Antonio Transportation Policy Examiner

Rick Perry may be good at invoking states rights and property rights, while disavowing 'foreign creditors,' but his actions as Texas' longest serving governor tell a different story. Public private partnerships (or P3s) are part and parcel of the United Nations' Agenda 21. Two of the purposes of Agenda 21 are to abolish private property and restrict mobility and P3s act as the vehicle to do it. Perry made P3s a centerpiece of his transportation policy since he stepped in as governor.

It started with the Trans Texas Corridor, known at the federal level as high priority corridors, corridors of the future, or the NAFTA superhighways. Just in Texas, it was to be a 4,000 mile multi-modal network of toll roads, rail lines, power transmission lines, pipelines, telecommunications lines and more. It was going to be financed, operated, and controlled by a foreign company granted massive swaths of land 1,200 feet (4 football fields) wide taken forcibly through eminent domain.

Far right questions Rick Perry on immigration

ASSOCIATED PRESS

Published:August 11, 2011

McALLEN, Texas (AP) - For all of his rock-solid conservative credentials, Texas Gov. Rick Perry may have an Achilles' heel: immigration.

Perry will undoubtedly focus his presidential campaign on Texas' relatively healthy economy and its low taxes and his record in creating jobs in the 11 years he's been governor. What he may have to explain on the stump is how illegal immigrants have contributed to that success, adding as much as $17.7 billion a year to the state gross product and enjoying such benefits as in-state tuition at public universities.

"Gov. Perry is very eager to appear tough on illegal immigration, but upon closer inspection he's part of the problem," complained William Gheen, who runs the North Carolina-based political action committee Americans for Legal Immigration. The group intends to educate conservative groups about candidates' positions on that issue.

Seventeen (17) things that critics are saying about Rick Perry

Note: there is a link to a separate post detailing the positive things that Rick Perry supporters are saying about him at the end of this piece.
COMING SOON - the 18th "thing" will be added on 8/16/11
[Last updated: 8/15/2011]

Over the past couple of months Rick Perry has been considering a run for POTUS. As of Saturday, August 13, he's in with both feet.

Since he's been Governor of Texas for over ten years, folks from the other "56 states" are asking Texans what kind of governor he's been and what we think. I decided that what I "think" isn't good enough - I could be wrong. So, I decided to do some research on Perry's record and form a more accurate, fact-based opinion on his qualifications instead of relying on my general perceptions.

In the spirit of full disclosure, I voted for Perry in each of the three gubernatorial elections since 2002 and I am a conservative and a registered Republican. It was easy for me to vote for Perry since the alternative(s) were either uber-RINOs in the primaries or liberal Democrats in the general elections. Under the circumstances, my choice was always easy.

While researching Perry's pros and cons, I've read every article and blog post that I could find - over several weeks. Many of those posts had 2-300 comments associated with them - I read them all.

Perry's Problematic Pals

By Pamela Geller

Texas Governor Rick Perry announced Saturday that he is going to seek the Republican nomination for President, and in his speech declaring his candidacy, he sounded great: "we reject this President's unbridled fixation on taking more money out of the wallets and pocketbooks of American families and employers and giving it to a central government," Perry said. "'Spreading the wealth' punishes success while setting America on course to greater dependency on government. Washington's insatiable desire to spend our children's inheritance on failed 'stimulus' plans and other misguided economic theories have given us record debt and left us with far too many unemployed."

Perry promises to fix all that: "We'll create jobs. We'll get America working again. We'll create jobs and we'll build wealth, we'll truly educate and innovate in science, and in technology, engineering and math. We'll create the jobs and the progress needed to get America working again."

Sounds good. But Perry has been sucked into the propaganda vortex, and is now wielding his enormous power to influence changes in the schoolrooms and in the curricula to reflect a sharia compliant version of Islam.  He is a friend of the Aga Khan, the multimillionaire head of the Ismailis, a Shi'ite sect of Islam that today proclaims its nonviolence but in ages past was the sect that gave rise to the Assassins.  Perry has concluded at least two cooperation agreements between the state of Texas and the Ismailis, including a comprehensive program to feed children in Texas public schools and taqiyya nonsense about how Islam is a religion of peace.  Another agreement stipulates that Texas officials will work with the Ismailis in the "fields of education, health sciences, natural disaster preparedness and recovery, culture and the environment." Perry let on that this was all about whitewashing Islam's bloody historical and modern-day record: "traditional Western education speaks little of the influence of Muslim scientists, scholars, throughout history, and for that matter the cultural treasures that stand today in testament to their wisdom."

It gets worse. Last March, Perry gave a speech in Dallas in the company of Grover Norquist of Americans for Tax Reform. Norquist was close to George W. Bush, and Perry's anti-tax, anti-Big Government rhetoric sounds like it's right out of Norquist's playbook.  But there is a dark side to Norquist as well: Norquist's ties to Islamic supremacists and jihadists have been known for years.  He and his Palestinian wife, Samah Alrayyes -- who was director of communications for his Islamic Free Market Institute until they married in 2005 -- are very active in "Muslim outreach." Six weeks after 9/11, The New Republic ran an exposé explaining how Norquist arranged for George W. Bush to meet with fifteen Islamic supremacists at the White House on September 26, 2001 -- to show how Muslims rejected terrorism.

The only problem was that the ones with Bush didn't.

Rick Perry Has Some Explaining to Do

rick Perry Muslim

I've often been told that you can accurately judge a person by the friends that they keep. Using this premise, let's take a look at some of the friends Presidential GOP candidate Gov. Rick Perry has kept and still keeps.

In 1988, President Ronald Reagan had already served his two terms as President and was ineligible to run again. The Republican Party ran then Vice-president George H.W. Bush after a hard fought primary campaign against Senator Bob Dole. The top Democratic candidates included Gov. Michael Dukakis, Sen. Al Gore and Rep. Dick Gephardt among others. At the time of the 1988 campaign, then Democratic Rep from Texas Rick Perry served as the Texas campaign head for Al Gore. After Bush handily defeated Dukakis for the White House, Perry switched parties and became a Republican in 1989, but still kept ties with Democrat Al Gore - inventor of the internet and crusader for a one-world economy and government.

In 1999, Perry became Lieutenant Governor of Texas and Governor in 2000. As Texas's governor, Perry has openly courted relations with a number of Islamic leaders.

One of Perry's friends with Aga Khan, the multimillionaire head of the Shi'ite sect of Islam known as the Ismailis. As governor, Perry has used his association with Khan and other Ismailis leaders to establish cooperative programs with them and the state of Texas, including an education program to help teach children that Ismailis Muslims are peace loving people.

Perry has also been known to be friends with Grover Norquist. Norquist is married to a Palestinian wife who is the director of communications for Norquist's Islamic Free Market Institute. He has been on the Islamic payroll before and after 9/11. Just fifteen days after the 9/11 attack on the US, Norquist arranged for President Bush to meet with fifteen Islamic leaders who were supposedly rejecting violence and terrorism. However, a number of those Islamic leaders have been supportive of Hamas, Hezb'allah and the Palestinian cause to eliminate Israel from existing as a nation and who have called for the destruction of all those nations who support Israel, including the US.

White House debates fight on economy

New Dept. of Jobs?

As the economy worsens, President Obama and his senior aides are considering whether to adopt a more combative approach on economic issues, seeking to highlight substantive differences with Republicans in Congress and on the campaign trail rather than continuing to pursue elusive compromises, advisers to the president say.

Mr. Obama's senior adviser, David Plouffe, and his chief of staff, William M. Daley, want him to maintain a pragmatic strategy of appealing to independent voters by advocating ideas that can pass Congress, even if they may not have much economic impact. These include free trade agreements and improved patent protections for inventors.

Washington losing credibility among US business

Starbucks CEO says he won't donate to politicians

If Starbucks' CEO Howard Schultz is any gauge on the corporate zeitgeist, businesses around the country have had enough of Washington politics and they're not going to take it anymore. (Well, some of them anyway).  Schultz is not alone in saying that there is a profound lack of trust in the U.S. congress to prescribe policies to help the economy and reduce the deficit. He said the debt debate and subsequent budget bill a disappointment, to put it mildly.

Schultz was on CNBC "Squawk on the Street" Tuesday morning calling on businesses to follow his lead and stop all political contributions until Republicans and Democrats commit to working together. CNBC ran a poll asking if American business leaders should stop contributing to both parties until they showed some signs of bipartisanship. Out of the more than 3,300 people that responded, an impressive 89% said they agreeed with Schultz, that the best way to send a message to congress was for big business donors to simply stop donating money to these guys.

Left
seeks to
win by
demonizing
the
tea party

Graphic of a Devil in a Tea Cup
The left has staked out its election strategy for 2012: They will resort to insults to demonize the tea party movement. It's a variation of a trial lawyer approach: If the facts are against you, argue the law. If the law is against you, argue the facts. And if both are against you, pound on the table.
The marching orders are clear: Appeal to the public's basest instincts. Call the tea partiers "terrorists" and "hostage takers." What better way to demonize the tea partiers than by equating them to jihadists who have killed thousands of Americans. Then call the decision to lower America's debt rating the "tea-party downgrade."
Such nonsense from self-proclaimed "progressive" politicians doesn't come as a surprise, but from the secretary of the Treasury? Engaging in such petty politics is beneath the dignity of the office.
The tea-party downgrade? Ridiculous. A sixth-grader can see the United States no longer is a Triple-A country financially, and that's because Triple-D-minus politicians have been running the show for more than a decade.

Christine O'Donnell became a national figure when she ran for the U.S. Senate in Delaware. She defeated the frontrunner in the primary but did not win the general election.
In the book "Troublemaker: Let's Do What It Takes to Make America Great Again," she tells the story of her childhood, how she became a conservative and a political activist, and what she sees as ailing America.
"We've watched the tentacles of big government reach into every part of our lives. A teenager can't use a tanning bed without a parent's permission but she can get an abortion without parental consent."
"I'd never thought of myself as a candidate for political office. I was much more comfortable as the behind-the-scenes strategist . . .However, friends were all suggesting that I was uniquely positioned to bring a much-needed voice to the primary campaign."
"I admire President Bush as a leader with courage to defend his convictions most of the time, but liberal influences within his administration, led at times by Karl Rove, tarnished Bush's legacy among true Constitutionalists." [ABC News, Aug. 15] Click here for the complete source story

2012 race

Paul's second-place finish in the Ames 'straw poll' pushed Tim Pawlenty to third, leading Pawlenty to leave the race.
Four years ago, Paul sought the nomination talking about economic policy, liberty and the Federal Reserve. Now the tea party has risen and seized on those issues, and some regard Paul as one of the movement's godfathers.
"I believe in a very limited role for government. But the prime reason that government exists in a free society is to protect liberty, and to protect life. And I mean all life. The country's bankrupt, and nobody wants to admit it. And when you're bankrupt, you can't keep spending,"
His opposition to wars in Iraq and Afghanistan defines him as a dove. His skepticism toward the Federal Reserve has spooked Wall Street and his views on gay rights draw the ire of social conservatives.
He also argues it isn't the United States' role to police Iran's nuclear program or to enforce an embargo with Cuba. [Yahoo News, Aug. 15] Click here for the complete source story

On mortgage rates, Obama wants proposal for how government can keep big role

By Zachary A. Goldfarb, Published: August 15

President Obama has directed a small team of advisers to develop a proposal that would keep the government playing a major role in the nation's mortgage market, extending a federal loan subsidy for most home buyers, according to people familiar with the matter.

The decision follows the advice of his senior economic and housing advisers, who favor maintaining the government's role as an insurer of mortgages for most borrowers. The approach could even preserve Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the mortgage finance giants owned by the government, although under different names and with significant new constraints, said people knowledgeable about the discussions.

A Stunning Victory for the Constitution over Obamacare

This afternoon, a three-judge panel of the U.S. Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta ruled that the individual mandate in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), more commonly known as Obamacare, is unconstitutional.  The carefully worded and thorough (over 300 page) set of opinions may be a bit mind-numbing for the uninitiated, but they are a joy to read for those of us who think the words of the Constitution actually mean something beyond whatever an activist Congress, President, and pliant judge want them to mean.

The decision is important for several reasons.  First, it puts to rest the canard that justice regarding Obamacare is just a partisan enterprise, in which Republican-appointed judges rule one way, and Democratic-appointed judges rule another.  Today's decision was co-authored by Judge Frank Hull, a Clinton appointee both to the district court and the court of appeals.

The second is that the ruling all-but-guarantees that the Supreme Court will hear the case.  Plaintiffs in another case from the Sixth Circuit have already asked the Supreme Court to hear their challenge to the identical provision that was struck down today.  Although the Supreme Court takes only about 80 cases per year, any one of three factors would have made it likely that the High Court would hear this case:  that a total of 28 states are challenging the constitutionality of a federal statute (26 in the instant case alone), that there is a split among the federal judicial circuits on an important issue of federal law, and that any one federal circuit court struck down any (even less important) federal statute.  Now that all three conditions are present, the Court can hardly refuse to hear the case.

The Global Warming Hoax In Charts

The remarkable thing about the anthropogenic global warming hoax is that it isn't even a close call. Anyone who takes the trouble to investigate the science will quickly learn that the alarmist position is a fraudulent one, driven, I think, by the billions of dollars that are thrown at those who are willing to sell out scientific method in support of the statist line. Hiding the decline is way more lucrative than presenting objective, and unalarming, scientific findings. Joe Bastardi writes:

A few graphics make the position of the AGW people completely absurd. It's why I am so confident as to my position on this matter, and by the way it does have something to do with the weather because if you know where the weather has been, you have a better chance to know where it's going.

This chart shows how the Earth's temperatures have correlated with changes in ocean conditions that are known to be relevant to atmospheric temperatures, the Pacific Decadal and Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillations:

Every Single One: The Politicized Hiring of Eric Holder's Special Litigation Section

Posted By Hans A. von Spakovsky On August 16, 2011

Last week, PJMedia published the first three of a series of articles highlighting the new career attorneys hired into the Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division. The first two articles focused on the Voting Section [1]; the third article focused on the Office of Special Counsel for Immigration-Related Unfair Employment Practices [2].

Based on the resumes that PJMedia finally extracted from DOJ following a lengthy Freedom of Information Act battle, these stories show the absurdity of the left's demagogic attacks on the Bush administration's hiring practices. They also illustrate the hyper-politicized environment that has become the hallmark of the Justice Department under Eric Holder's reign.

Today we feature the Division's Special Litigation Section.

Obama's union boss buddies poured hundreds of millions into getting him and his Democratic allies elected in 2008, but they were unable to pass their signature legislation stripping workers of private ballot rights. And in last year's midterm election, they were wiped out.

But Obama's union buddies at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) won't take no for an answer. (http://www.kintera.org/c.5oJELSPwFhJWG/b.6074153/k.8B4D/Action_Center/siteapps/advocacy/ActionItem.aspx?c=5oJELSPwFhJWG&b=6074153&aid=16389)

The board is packed with radical union lawyers that Obama installed by the back door -- so-called recess appointments to sidestep the Senate. Consider the words of Craig Becker, the former SEIU lawyer Obama put on the NLRB without Senate approval:

"Employers should be stripped of any legally cognizable interest in their employees' election of representatives."

Now Becker and his allies are proposing to gut workers rights with a proposal to force ambush elections on employers in as little as 10 days, without giving employers an opportunity to educate workers on the implications of forming a union. (This identical "ambush elections" proposal was the centerpiece of one of the last versions of the 'card check" bill that collapsed last Congress.)

The result: workers can be forced into unions and forced to pay dues that will be funneled to support left-wing political causes.

Fortunately, the NLRB is required by law to respond to public comments, and the public comment period ends August 22.

Please click here to tell the NLRB to STOP its assault on worker rights! (http://www.kintera.org/c.5oJELSPwFhJWG/b.6074153/k.8B4D/Action_Center/siteapps/advocacy/ActionItem.aspx?c=5oJELSPwFhJWG&b=6074153&aid=16389)

Obama "all for toning down the rhetoric"?

Barack Obama claims that he doesn't mind toning down the rhetoric, but what kind of rhetoric is he talking about? Glenn exposed the hypocrisy behind his most recent comments on radio this morning. WATCH

Media out to take down Rick Perry

Is the media out to take down Rick Perry? Chris Matthews has devoted quite a bit of attention to the Texas Governor and claimed that the media needs to devote every nickel they have to an investigation. Glenn has more on radio today.

Rick Perry calls out The Fed for treason

Ben Bernanke may have said that the Fed would never monetize the debt - but it was just one of many broken promises made by the White House and the people in step with the Obama administration. And now someone is calling them out! Perry told listeners that printing money to play politics at this particular time in American history is almost treasonous. But why does Glenn think Perry doesn't go far enough? Find out HERE.
