Patriots,
Here is a time right around the corner you can rally to support the family of fallen soldier Sgt. Kenneth Elwell to be able to lay their son, brother, grandson etc. to rest in peace and solemness without having the Westboro Baptist church disrupting it. Westboro is busing protestors in from Kansas to protest and try to discredit our soldiers and families at funerals.
Audrey Strein has offered to be the main contact on Sunday. She will have American Flags for whoever needs one, but if you have one bring it. Those of you with grassroots groups - if you could blast this out to as many people as possible that would be great. Email her if you are coming. We will meet up at St. Andrews Church, just look for the American Flags and you will find us.
Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at
St. Andrews Catholic Church
81 Swamp Road, Newtown Township, PA

Newtown police prepare for protesters at soldier funeral By Jo Ciavaglia Staff writer Calkins Media, Inc.
They might not show up. But if they do, police said they will be ready.
Members of a Kansas church known for protesting at military funerals threatened to appear Sunday at services for a local soldier killed in Afghanistan.
The extra police assigned could be for nothing since the Westboro Baptist Church has recently gained a reputation for failing to make good on its threats to appear.
In a press release Tuesday, Newtown Township police Chief Rick Pasqualini said he is also coordinating with surrounding police departments in the event of a "potential situation" at the wake and funeral services for U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Kenneth Elwell of Northampton.

Massive Global Cyberattack Targeting U.S., U.N. Discovered; Experts Blame China
FoxNews.com | Published August 03, 2011
The world's most extensive case of cyber-espionage, including attacks on U.S. government and U.N. computers, is set to be revealed Wednesday by online security firm McAfee, and analysts are speculating that China is behind the attacks. The spying was dubbed "Operation Shady RAT," or "remote access tool" by McAfee -- and it led to a massive loss of information that poses a huge economic threat, wrote vice president of threat research Dmitri Alperovitch "What is happening to all this data - by now reaching petabytes as a whole - is still largely an open question," Alperovitch wrote . . . 'For God and Country': New Reported Details of SEAL Team 6's Osama Raid
The Blaze | by Christopher Santarelli | Posted on August 2, 2011 at 10:14pm
The New Yorker just published a gripping, descriptive, and telling look into the mission that took down mankind's greatest living enemy: "Nine years, seven months, and twenty days after September 11th, an American was a trigger pull from ending bin Laden's life. The first round, a 5.56-mm. bullet, struck bin Laden in the chest. As he fell backward, the SEAL fired a second round into his head, just above his left eye. On his radio, he reported, 'For God and country-Geronimo, Geronimo, Geronimo.' After a pause, he added, 'Geronimo E.K.I.A.'-enemy killed in action.'"

Press Release:
AFDI/SIOA 9/11 Freedom Rally:
Stand Against Ground Zero Mosque, and Durban III, Stand for America
NEW YORK, July 6: The human rights organization American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) will be hosting its second annual 9/11 Freedom Rally on September 11 at 3pm at Park Place and West Broadway.
Free citizens are coming from all over the U.S. to attend the rally. "It is crucial to stand for freedom on this tenth anniversary of the heinous 9/11 jihad attacks," said AFDI Executive Director Pamela Geller. "We must show the jihadists we are unbowed in the defense of freedom."
AFDI and its Stop Islamization of America (SIOA) program are encouraging all Americans to stand against the Islamic supremacist mega-mosque at Ground Zero and the anti-Semitic Durban III conference that will be held in New York City at the same time, and for American values on the tenth anniversary of the worst attack ever on American soil.
The confirmed list of speakers includes 9/11 family members Alexander and Maureen Santora, who lost their firefighter son Christopher; Sally Regenhard, whose son Christian was killed on 9/11; Nelly Braginsky, who lost her son Alexander; and others.
Other speakers include former U. S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton (video message); the courageous ex-Muslim human rights activist Wafa Sultan; war hero and North Carolina Congressional candidate Ilario Pantano; former prosecutor and bestselling author Andrew C. McCarthy; popular radio host Joyce Kaufman; Darla Dawald, National Director of the Patriot Action Network; James Lafferty of the Virginia Anti-Sharia Taskforce (VAST); Coptic Christian activist Joseph Nassralla; Iraqi ex-Muslim Paul Gaynos.
Hosting the rally are Pamela Geller, publisher of the acclaimed AtlasShrugs.com blog, executive director of AFDI and SIOA, and author of Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance (WND Books); and AFDI/SIOA associate director Robert Spencer, the bestselling author and director of Jihad Watch.
Building the Ground Zero mosque is not an issue of religious freedom, but of resisting an effort to insult the victims of 9/11 and to establish a beachhead for political Islam and Islamic supremacism in New York. Cordoba Initiative board member imam Feisal Abdul Rauf is an open proponent of Sharia, Islamic law, a system that denies the freedom of speech, the freedom of conscience, and the equality of rights of all people before the law. Given the thousands of triumphal mosques that have been built on the cherished sites of conquered peoples throughout Islamic history, the mosque leaders' claim that this mosque would be understood differently by Muslims worldwide lack foundation.
The Durban III conference follows upon two previous conferences that scapegoated and demonized the state of Israel in service of Islamic jihad and Islamic supremacist interests. The rally will defend Israel against the defamation to which it will be subjected at this conference. It will also call upon the city to remove roadblocks to the reconstruction of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, which was destroyed on 9/11 and since then mired in bureaucratic red tape that has prevented its rebuilding - in stark contrast to the help Mayor Bloomberg and other city officials have given to the Ground Zero Mosque project.
AFDI/SIOA is one of America's foremost organizations defending human rights, religious liberty, and the freedom of speech against Islamic supremacist intimidation and attempts to bring elements of Sharia to the United States.

"We have gone to the capitals of our states and to the capitals of our government. We have talked to all the power brokers. The only power broker, the only seat of government that can and will solve this problem with or without us is God. It is time to return inside the walls that surround Jerusalem and stand with people of all faiths, all around the world," Glenn said in his initial announcement.
"In August, whether I'm there with seven people or 10 people or there alone, I will stand. I ask you to join me. I also ask you to take this message globally, to take this to every corner of the earth. If you have family living overseas, this is not an America solution. This is a people of faith solution. This is a people all over the world solution. I ask you to help get this word out."

Glenn Beck Restoring Courage Viewing Party : On Wednesday, August 24 we will be streaming the event at The Moose and we're inviting everyone to come down and share this together. Many of us went to the Restoring Honor event last year and we were deeply moved by the day's events. Being with others we know made this even more special. Although we are not going to travel to Israel, we are hoping that we can recreate that atmosphere here in Bucks County. We are still in the development stages of this event and would like to hear your suggestions on how to have it work out. And if you can help with the planning, set up and the break down, please let us know. These events are even more special when you are part of the effort to make it come off well for everyone who comes. Be sure to invite your friends and family to come as well. This would be a great opportunity to meet other patriots and meet some new ones. Let us know you are coming on our Facebook event post .

Patriots,
The Pa legislature is going to have its first hearing ever on a Right to Work package of legislation (House Bills 50-53). It will be held on Tuesday, August 16 from 1-4 p.m. in room 205 of the Ryan Office Building. There is no doubt that the unions will be out in force to try to intimidate members of the Labor committee. If you can get out to the hearing that would be great, please let as many people know about it as possible so members know that the grassroots support Right to Work.

Dear Patriot,
Our August meeting will be held in conjunction with the Kitchen Table Patriots to present a project to help ensure the integrity of our electoral process. This is a genuine non-partisan issue. Win or lose candidates for office should be able to rely on the officials who oversee the polls on Election Day so that every legitimate vote is counted.
"True the Vote" is an initiative developed by citizens for citizens, to inspire and equip volunteers for involvement at every stage of our electoral process and to actively protect the rights of legitimate voters, regardless of their political party affiliation. We are looking for people to learn about this effort and get involved today to ensure we have valid elections for all. Please join us August 8th.
True the Vote

CONSTITUTION GROUP BRINGING "LIBERTY BREAKFAST" TO CHESTER COUNTY
(Lebanon, PA) - The Constitutional Organization Of Liberty (COOL), a conservative, non-partisan educational organization, has announced it will be hosting a "Liberty Breakfast" in Downingtown on Saturday, August 6.
Mark Thomas of Cornwall, Chairman of COOL, said that the five-year old organization has arranged for the morning function at the Old Country Buffet, beginning at 8:30 AM.
"We're very excited about bringing our breakfast to Chester County," Thomas said. "We have hosted courses and functions throughout central Pennsylvania but this is the first one we have held in Chester County."
Thomas said that the Liberty Breakfasts are new for 2011 as they found a number of individuals were interested in gaining additional knowledge about the Constitution but were not able to commit to long term coursework.
"After the successful classes we had last year, COOL's Board went ahead and approved the use of the breakfast model in order to broaden our access and appeal to the different locations we think would be receptive to our courses and educational approach," he said.
Carris Kocher, of the Bill of Rights Bicentennial Committee, which, along with Chester County ACTION, is hosting the breakfast, said she personally made arrangements for the breakfast in Downingtown and is looking for a strong turnout.
"This area has a large number of deeply convicted individuals when it comes to the Constitution and how the law should be applied," Kocher said. "I really felt the time had come to start combining COOL's strong educational expertise with the conservative activists in the area."
Kocher also noted that since 2011 is the 275th anniversary of Patrick Henry's birth, the breakfast will include a musical tribute to Patrick Henry by Charlie Zahm of Philadelphia,
"Charlie is an outstanding musician with a wealth of musical talent and historical knowledge," Kocher said. "He is popular at Maritime, Early American and Celtic festivals, and his rich voice is matched only by his masterful guitar playing."
"Having this tribute to Patrick Henry at this event seemed fitting," Kocher said, "as, without Patrick Henry, there would be no Bill of Rights and no First Amendment."
State Senator Mike Folmer (R-48th), who serves as a Board member for COOL, attended the first Liberty Breakfast in Palmyra and said he was very pleased with the function.
"I enjoyed the fact that the breakfast allows participants to gain additional knowledge about the Constitution and our Founding documents without feeling pressured to stick to a long term schedule," Folmer said. "And for an elected official like myself it is a great time to just catch up with local constituents without having to worry about being the center of attention."
"Anyone who attends these breakfasts comes out learning something," he said.
The topic for the Liberty Breakfast scheduled for August 6 will be "The First Amendment" and will feature both a review of the Amendment as well as an open discussion of the critical aspects of it.
The meeting room at the Old Country Buffet has been reserved and breakfast will be served ala carte whereby participants will order and pay for their own meals. After the meal, the forum will begin, and there is no charge to participate, although donations will be solicited.
Attendance confirmation is requested to ensure sufficient seating in the meeting room, and may be made by contacting Kocher via e-mail at kochercj@verizon.net. Any other inquiries may be made directly to COOL at 717-228-7524, or by e-mail at reclaimliberty@verizon.net.

RedState Morning Briefing
For August 3, 2011
1. Reflections on the Deficit Deal
I don't make claims to prescience and have no idea what the final product of the current debt ceiling negotiations will produce. I'm guessing it will not be as good as the boosters claim and not as bad as the partisans on both sides suggest. Make no mistake about it, the debate and deal were of historic import. This is the first time that an increase in the debt ceiling has ever been seriously debated.
It would be a mistake, I think, to be discouraged over this deal or to take uncritically the view of my friend and colleague Francis Cianfrocca that Obama was a big winner. The left doesn't see it that way. We didn't win all that we wanted, though I must confess that I'm still more than a little unclear on what was expected to be achieved while operating in the shadow of a bill that had to be passed, but we moved the ball forward and I think we are well positioned for the next round.
2. Congressional Democrats Aim to Kill Energy's Golden Goose
If "it's all about the jobs", why are Democrats trying to kill one of the only successful job creation engines in our economy?
From Texas and Louisiana to North Dakota and Pennsylvania, energy development is creating good jobs, well-paying jobs, by the tens and even hundreds of thousands. Billions of dollars are flowing into the economies of the host states. The common thread of the booms in these states is shale drilling. Over the last few years, technological advancements have enabled commercial oil and gas production from shale rock long that according to conventional wisdom was unproductive.
Successful? At this point, some 25% of domestic natural gas production is from shale formations. And that proportion is expected to grow in the coming years.
3. Harry Reid Admits He's a Terrorist Hijacker of FAA Funding
Throughout the debt ceiling fight, Harry Reid purported to be the only true compromiser, while painting the Tea Party as extreme hostage takers. However, unlike most hostage takers, tea partiers made no demands of government for their own personal gain. They simply wanted to preclude their children and grandchildren from incurring permanent indebtedness. Harry Reid, on the other hand, has shown us the true meaning of hostage taking. And he is now admitting it.
While the public was focused on the potential government shutdown over the debt ceiling debate, Harry Reid quietly forced a partial shutdown of the FAA. For months, Reid has blocked a long-term extension of the FAA reauthorization, while forcing Congress to pass reckless short-term measures that lacked much-needed reform.
The last extension expired July 23, but Harry Reid has refused to consider the House-passed extension through September. The House bill cut a subsidy program to three rural airports, where the cost of subsidized flights was hopelessly uneconomical. One of those airports, White Pine County Airport in Ely, Nevada, enjoys a subsidy to the tune of $3,720 per passenger! [Read more about it here] Yet, Reid refused to relinquish his selfish pork, causing a partial shutdown of the FAA and the furloughing of 4,000 employees. Additionally, the shutdown has cost the government millions in lost revenue from taxes on airline tickets. So much for a balanced approach on revenue.
4. Jonah Goldberg is tired of the vicious hypocrisy of these people...
'These people' being the media, and their contemptible willingness to accept a double standard when it comes to violent rhetoric. After screaming for so long about every possible hint of a suggestion of a possibility of violent speech from the Right, it's amazing what will be forgiven when it comes from the Left.

Susan's Paul Ryan Medicare Pamphlet - please print this and give it to your contacts
SAVING MEDICARE
Since 1964, our nation's senior citizens have relied on Medicare to ensure access to healthcare. Now the program is going broke -- and it is going broke fast.
It began spending its reserves in 2008 when payouts exceeded dollars collected for the program. [cite]
Predictions for exhaustion of the reserve vary, with 2024 identified by the Social Security Administration in the Trustees 2011 report. [cite]
The Democrat response is to reduce the amount Medicare reimburses physicians for their services. [cite]
This will result in fewer participating physicians and the physicians continuing in the program seeing fewer Medicare patients.
Patients will wait longer and have fewer choices in seeing a doctor.
If this makes access to care sufficiently untenable, or if Medicare does not get on viable financial footing, it will be administered through ObamaCare[cite].
This would include cost controls by a 15-member board of bureaucrats deciding wich treatments, drugs, and surgeries patients can receive.
Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), Chairman of the House Committee on the Budget, has a plan which saves Medicare with no disruption to today's seniors and reasonable changes for future retirees.
The Ryan Plan is widely misunderstood and misrepresented. The future of our seniors' healthcare is too important to be decided on misinformation. Here are the facts about Medicare and the Ryan Plan.
The Ryan Plan in a Nutshell
Those currently retired and those close to retirement (55 and over) will see no change from the existing Medicare system. Existing physician reimbursement flaws will be corrected to encourage physicians to continue participating in the system.[cite]
On retirement, those currently under 55 will be provided vouchers from the government to help pay for health insurance. Voucher amounts will be based in part on income, with wealthier individuals receiving less assistance. Risk pools [cite] will be created to ensure that insurance companies will provide coverage to seniors, despite their generally higher use of medical care.
The result is retirees will have a system that gives them options, similar to that which members of Congress use and which will include options similar to Medicare Advantage, the popular plan eliminated by Obamacare. [cite]
The Ryan Plan Incorporates These Important Points
It is important that we
Plan now for changes, to avoid chaos later
The medicare system is running out of money. Change is coming, one way or another.
Pretending we can continue as we are is not an option, it is a recipe for disaster. The longer we wait to make changes, the greater the disruption to current and future retires, the more abruptly the changes will have to be implemented, and the fewer options we will have.
By implementing the Ryan Plan now, we will
- maintain the existing system for current retirees and for individuals 55 and over
- provide a sustainable, quality system for future retirees.
It is important that we...
Preserve the existing system, unchanged, for current retirees and workers 55 and older
This bears repeating:
- Under the Ryan Plan, if you are retired, your Medicare coverage will not change.
- If you are over 55, Medicare as it exists today will be there for you when you retire.
- And the Ryan Plan provides for quality health insurance coverage upon retirement for those currently under 55.
It is important that we...
Maintain availability of insurance coverage for future retirees
Since individuals generally require more medical care as they age, it tends to be difficult for older individuals to find private health insurance that will cover them. That is one reason our existing Medicare system is considered so important for many. The Ryan Plan creates risk pools which encourage multiple insurance companies to offer health coverage to those of retirement age.
It is important that we...
Maintain affordability
Individuals have paid into the Medicare system with the promise that coverage will be there for them when they retire. Unfortunately, we are facing an economic crisis in this country and Medicare is a significant part of the problem. To save the system for everyone and to avert broader economic calamity, in the future wealthier Americans will have to bear a greater portion of their healthcare burden.
It is important that we...
Make it feasible for doctors to participate in Medicare
Currently in many areas of the country physicans are reimbursed for Medicare patients at a rate that does not cover their expenses. Recent changes put forth by the Democrats further reduce reimbursement. [cite] This is not sustainable for any business and as a result increasing numbers of physicians are discontinuing their participation in the Medcare program. Patients are finding that their physician is no longer a Medicare provider and when they look for another physician it is increasingly difficult for them to find a Medicare provider who is accepting new patients and can see them in a reasonable time. [cite]. The Ryan plan fixes the reimbursement problem, making it feasible for physicians to continue participating in Medicare.
It is important that we...
Keep medical decisions between patients and doctors, not remote government panels
The Ryan plan harnesses the free market and puts choice in the hands of the patient. Retirees will be able to pick the insurance plan that best meets their needs, applying government vouchers toward premium costs. Medical decisions would be made in consultation with their personal physician, based on the individual's situation and preferences.

August 2, 2011 Quote of the Day - August 2, 2011"The senior leaders of the U.S. military have finally said enough is enough. You cannot wear out the military by requiring that it fights two, even three wars over a decade, conduct countless out-of-area deployments, maintain forward presence around the world, provide humanitarian assistance in dozens of disasters and conduct training missions with nearly one hundred countries and then tell it to suck up $1 trillion in budget cuts. Laura: Some conservatives are becoming just as big a problem as liberals when it comes to discussions over islam. If speaking forthrightly about the threat of sharia is taboo even amongst conservatives, then we are in even greater danger than I thought. Herman Cain has been attacked for saying he would not appoint a muslim to his cabinet. Is it wrong to question whether one can be a devout muslim and at the same time protect and defend the constitution of the United States of America which is antithetical to islamic law? There is a very good reason why there are no free islamic countries. Sharia law is not compatible with freedom, individual liberty and human rights. Islam is not simply a personal faith but a totalitarian political ideology which seeks to dominate and subjugate us. This is an issue that must be discussed and shame on those conservatives who would silence any such discussion for fear of being called names and being accused of "racism" and bigotry. You...

Pamela Geller, Monday, August 01, 2011
This comes just seven short years after Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld called the broadcaster's reporting "vicious, inaccurate and inexcusable" and President George W. Bush joked about bombing it, and senior Bush officials caricatured the channel as an anti-Semitic, anti-American outlet for Islamo-porn. And here we are ten years after the largest and bloodiest Islamic attack on America, and Al Jazeera is launching in New York City on Time Warner Cable. This is a major step in the network's goal of expanding jihad propaganda further into the U.S. cable market and gives it a chance to reach two million households in a world capital of culture and commerce. The network will also launch on VerizonFiOS in the coming days.
How much did those traitors sell us out for?
The overtly covert - or is that covertly overt? - propaganda war against the West is being waged on all fronts, but no organization has done as much to spread hate, lies and incitement to violence as Al-Jazeera. Al-Jazeera is the leading terrorist propaganda organization in the world. Jihad murder mastermind Anwar al-Awlaki has praised Al-Jazeera, and several years ago one of its most prominent reporters was arrested on terror charges. Al-Jazeera also has for years been the recipient of numerous Al-Qaeda videos featuring bin Laden, Zawahiri, and American traitor Adam Gadahn. Yet they never seem to be able to trace where these videos are coming from. They have repeatedly been set up at the point of attack right before a bomb went off, so that they could take the picture of the slaughtered, dismembered bodies.
How did they know?

Must-See Video: News report on sharia law in Australia
As we have noted many times, naysayers intent on keeping their heads in the sand dismiss the threat radical Islam, jihad and sharia law pose to the United States.
| | |
A recent example of this was the July 10th article in The Tennessean newspaper, in which a university professor pooh-poohed concerns about sharia law. These naysayers not only refuse to see how the threat of radical Islam is currently playing out in America. They also refuse to acknowledge how radical Islam and sharia have impacted Europe, the UK, and Australia-and what that means for us. That's why this eye-opening news report about sharia law in Australia is so pertinent to us. Rest assured, 15 years ago, when early concerns were being raised in Australia about the threat of radical Islam, there were plenty of naysayers who said such concerns were unfounded. As you watch the video, keep in mind that eight years ago a Muslim organization did a survey of Muslims in Dearborn, Michigan, and found that 81% agreed that sharia law should be imposed in Muslim lands. It's a safe bet that most of those surveyed would also agree that sharia law should eventually be imposed in America. One last point. Did you see the news story last week about Islamists in the UK posting notices of "sharia-controlled zones?"
It's another safe bet that 15 years ago Brits would have never believed this was possible!

Fellow Patriots,
I'm afraid to report that The New York Times, the once highly respected "newspaper of record," has thoroughly turned to the dark side.
It's been recognized for a long time that the NYT has had a liberal slant, but until recently I had always presumed that it was still fundamentally a paper that had a warm affection for our country. The article below came as a shock, and revealed how completely off-the-rails the Gray Lady has fallen.
It's another long article, so to save time for people in a hurry, I've highlighted some of its major points. For those who are really in a hurry, check out the summary below:
- This article is not a news report at all, in that it does not report news but instead reads like an opinion piece, where the author builds a case for a particular viewpoint while dismissing or completely omitting important relevant information.
- The article presents a bizarre conspiracy theory, centered on the evil hidden hand of a Jew (!!!) who is apparently behind the entire "anti-Shariah push": David Yerushalmi. Worse than that, Yerushalmi is a Hasidic Jew -- a fundamentalist!
What's so bizarre about this theory is that I myself began telling anyone who would listen about the threat of Islam and Shariah shortly after the 9/11 attack, motivated by my own research based on the Koran, the Hadiths, and books on Islam written by Muslims, completely independent of outside influence. I had never even heard of David Yerushalmi until this year, when the conspiracy theory making him the scapegoat first started circulating. Also, I got a late start in this effort; people like Daniel Pipes, Robert Spencer, Bridgitte Gabriel, Pamela Geller, Wafa Sultan, Nonie Darwish, and Walid Shoebat were way, way ahead of me, and thousands of others began getting active in the wake of 9/11 alongside me. I personally know hundreds of these people over many years of activism, some of whom have been active for decades, and yet the mastermind behind it all is someone whom no one ever mentioned before this year? NO WAY. - The article makes a point of physically caricaturing David Yerushalmi in quintessentially Jewish terms, something that I haven't seen in newsprint since reading about Nazi propaganda tactics. Can you imagine the New York Times describing a person like Rev. Al Sharpton in this way? It was at this point that I realized that this article was hate propaganda in its most vile form. It appears that the author is trying to make the "Anti-Shariah movement" a conspiracy orchestrated by the hated Jews. Yerushalmi had to be pulled out of a hat because it would be impossible to scapegoat a person like Brigitte Gabriel in this way, because she is a Lebanese Christian whose family was bombed out of their home by Muslim bombers, nearly killing her.
- The article uncritically quotes the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) President, saying that, "The fact is there is no Shariah takeover in America," as if this puts the whole question to rest. One would think that, given the quantity of research done for this article, the reporter would have bothered to look toward Europe, where Muslims are setting up "Shariah Courts," "Shariah-Compliant Zones," and "No-Go Zones," where non-Muslims are harassed until they leave. Why should we expect Muslims to behave differently here when their numbers increase to European levels. Keep in mind that the percentage of Muslims in Europe was nearly zero only 30 years ago.
- Bizarrely, the article cites the U.S. Constitution's establishment clause, which prevents the U.S. government from entangling itself in religious matters, as something that should protect the application of Shariah in U.S. law. The author's logic is that Muslims should be free to practice their religion, therefore they should be allowed to practice Shariah Law. It apparently doesn't occur to the author that THE PRACTICE OF SHARIAH LAW IS AN ENTANGLEMENT OF GOVERNMENT IN RELIGIOUS MATTERS.
- The article describes Shariah in poetic terms, as "the path to the watering hole," and then describes a number benign aspects of the law. Somehow, though, the author never manages to mention the Shariah Laws that penalize apostasy from Islam and blasphemy with DEATH. She seems satisfied with the MPAC President's assertion that concern over such matters is "purely a political wedge to create fear and hysteria."
- While the author mentions the abuse of women under Shariah, she expresses no horror about it and then continues on with her narrative that there's something wrong with American concern about Shariah. That a woman could do this is enough to leave one slack-jawed in disbelief.
- Instead of being shocked at Shariah's abusive laws regarding women, the author portrays those who are shocked as "anti-Muslim." In other words, if you don't want marital rape, wife abuse, polygyny, arranged marriages to 9-year old girls, the death penalty for saying anything against Muhammad or Islam, or the death penalty for apostasy from Islam, then you are "anti-Muslim."
- The article dismisses the fact that CAIR was listed as an unindicted co-conspirator with the Muslim Brotherhood by the federal government. Apparently, when Eric Holder decided to look no further into CAIR, this was good enough for the author!
It is utterly baffling and deeply disturbing that the New York Times could allow such a biased and anti-American article appear on its pages. If you subscribe to it, this would be a great time to stop you subscription and tell them exactly why. You may also want to forward this email to others and encourage them to unsubscribe.
Given that this article was motivated by the Breivik massacre, I'm including a video by the guys at AnsweringMuslims.com, who apparently read Breivik's manifesto from cover to cover and managed to completely debunk any residual ideas that people may have that he was a "Christian Fundamentalist." If you've got 15 minutes to find out exactly what Breivik had to say, which clearly identifies what he is, check out this video --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKEqM5bi8K4&feature=youtu.be . MSNBC also does a good expose on his actual formative experiences and narcissistic inner workings here --> http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43956304/ns/world_news-europe/ .
Welcome to the Brave New World,

NASHVILLE - Tennessee's latest woes include high unemployment, continuing foreclosures and a battle over collective-bargaining rights for teachers. But when a Republican representative took the Statehouse floor during a recent hearing, he warned of a new threat to his constituents' way of life: Islamic law.
The representative, a former fighter pilot named Rick Womick, said he had been studying the Koran. He declared that Shariah, the Islamic code that guides Muslim beliefs and actions, is not just an expression of faith but a political and legal system that seeks world domination. "Folks," Mr. Womick, 53, said with a sudden pause, "this is not what I call 'Do unto others what you'd have them do unto you.' "
Similar warnings are being issued across the country as Republican presidential candidates, elected officials and activists mobilize against what they describe as the menace of Islamic law in the United States.
Since last year, more than two dozen states have considered measures to restrict judges from consulting Shariah, or foreign and religious laws more generally. The statutes have been enacted in three states so far.

Our Work Has Only Begun
My fellow conservatives,
Americans are disappointed. They are disappointed that the debate over our debt limit was about the needs of politicians instead of the needs of the country. They are disappointed with a broken government that refuses to fix itself. And they are disappointed that the Budget Control Act that passed the House last night and is likely to pass the Senate today does not make the transformative changes this nation requires.
There are several elements of this plan that are simply unacceptable, even when framed inside the narrow political confines that limited a better outcome (i.e., the White House and Senate are still controlled by spend-tax-and-borrow liberals).

Applying First Principles to the Issues of Today |
So You Want A Balanced Budget Amendment?
The Balanced Budget Amendment was a key element in the recent debt ceiling battle that has dominated Congress and the news cycle. Both the "Cut, Cap, and Balance" bill and Speaker Boehner's plan included a Balanced Budget Amendment, and the final deal requires a vote on the amendment. But the final deal raises two important questions about the Balanced Budget Amendment: What will the amendment actually require? And will it pass?
Not all Balanced Budget Amendments are created equal. As Heritage's Ernest Istook explains in a recent report, some proposals are strong amendments that will get America's fiscal house in order: they require a supermajority to raise taxes, limit the level of federal spending as a percentage of the national economy, and contain few exceptions to a balanced budget. Other proposed versions are nothing more than ploys riddled with loopholes and accounting tricks: for example, an amendment that does not count Social Security as part of the budget, or an amendment that allows a simple majority vote to wave the amendment's requirements. In short, they provide no check on the federal government's out-of-control spending.
Regardless of what version of a Balanced Budget Amendment goes to the floor, it will still need to receive support from two-thirds of both the House and the Senate. If history is any indicator, the amendment has an uphill battle ahead of it. In the past, Balanced Budget Amendments have failed because key supporters defected at the very end.
In 1995, then Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle voted against a Balanced Budget Amendment after having authored numerous versions himself. He flip-flopped on this issue at the behest of President Bill Clinton, who feared (correctly) that the amendment would threaten the future of big government. President Clinton won that battle-the amendment failed by one vote. (To be sure, even if the amendment cleared the House and Senate, it would have needed three-fourths of the states to ratify it).
The threat of defections killing the bill is as real today as it was in the 1990s-Democratic Representatives who previously supported the Balanced Budget Amendmentare now abandoning it. Thus, passing a strong Balanced Budget Amendment-one that actually curbs spending- appears unlikely. Indeed, a stricter Balanced Budget Amendment is better for America's financial security, but a stricter amendment will be more difficult to pass.

Precious metals: Gold hits all-time on debt worries
Congress votes, Gold goes up
Gold hit an all-time record high on Tuesday, its ninth this year, as growing fears about the spread of the European debt crisis and the increasingly gloomy outlook for the U.S. economy fed a broad investor push into perceived safe-haven assets.
U.S. lawmakers averted an unprecedented default on the country's debt on Monday but the likelihood of the United States losing its top-notch credit rating as a result of its ballooning deficits boosted the likes of gold, the Swiss franc and German government bonds.

Why I oppose the debt ceiling compromise
By Rand Paul
Today Sen. Rand Paul issued an open letter on the subject of the debt ceiling compromise facing the Senate. Below is that letter.
To paraphrase Senator Jim DeMint: When you're speeding toward the edge of a cliff, you don't set the cruise control. You stop the car. The current deal to raise the debt ceiling doesn't stop us from going over the fiscal cliff. At best, it slows us from going over it at 80 mph to going over it at 60 mph.

Giffords votes yes on debt deal as lawmakers wipe away tears
The new 'Wellstone moment'
Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) made a dramatic return to Washington Monday evening to cast her vote in favor of the deal to raise the debt ceiling.
Returning to Capitol Hill for the first time since she was shot in the head six months ago, Giffords walked into the House chamber shortly after 7 p.m., accompanied by Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and aides.

No, conservatives won't be denied slots on supercommittee
We need these people in there
Before I read this it never would have occured to me that Rand Paul should be on the supercommittee. He's immediately established himself as a smart, far-thinking libertarian, but he's also a freshman with no prior experience in elected office or in finance. And the appointments are going to be made by Mitch McConnell, who backed another guy in the primary Rand Paul won. But put it like this -- voting for the bill is a condition for getting on the committee -- and presto, instant outrage!
McConnell's office is pushing back. "The story is inaccurate," says McConnell spokesman Don Stewart. "There is no vote position requirement to serve on the committee. He will have serious discussions with all those who are interested in serving prior to making any appointments."

New federal license law stirrung up controversy
Fed targets family farms
A new federal law proposal is stirring up controversy in the farm land. The Department of Transportation is considering commercial drivers licenses for anyone who drives a tractor, pulls a cattle trailer and drives a farm licensed semi. It would also regulate hours worked in a week. That could make it a lot tougher to hire farm help and harvest crop.
All you need is a regular driver's license to drive tractors like these now. Long haul semi drivers and bus drivers go through vigorous testing that can cost hundreds of dollars. And the new regulation could mean farmers would have to work less and couldn't hire hands as easy as they can now.

Fed may weigh more stimulus on slow recovery

Federal Reserve policy makers may start weighing additional steps to prop up the recovery after growth fell below 1 percent in the first half of this year and economists began cutting second-half growth forecasts.
"At a minimum, the FOMC will have a serious debate about the policy options -- what they should do, and what they expect to get from it," said Roberto Perli, a former associate director in the Fed's Division of Monetary Affairs, referring to the Federal Open Market Committee. "Growth in the first half was dangerously close to zero," said Perli, director of policy research at International Strategy & Investment Group.

Unconstitutional body created by debt deal to get "even greater super powers"
Paul Joseph Watson & Alex Jones Infowars.com Monday, August 1, 2011
The so-called "Super Congress" that is about to be created with the debt ceiling vote will have powers far beyond just controlling the nation's purse strings - its authority will extend to target the second amendment - eviscerating normal protections that prevent unconstitutional legislation from being fast-tracked into law.
As the Huffington Post reported last month, the debt deal that has already been passed by the House and faces the Senate tomorrow will create an unconstitutional "Super Congress" that will be comprised of six Republicans and six Democrats and granted "extraordinary new powers" to quickly force legislation through both chambers.

As you most likely know, congressional leaders from both parties and the White House (Click here to see our new national TV ad detailing Obama's failure to lead) cut a deal to raise our nation's debt ceiling.
There is some good news but far too much bad news. We should be heartened that the determined attempt by President Obama, congressional Democrats and some Republicans to pass tax increases in a debt limit plan was defeated. In addition, for months the dominant issue has been how over-spending by the federal government is harming our nation.
Now for the bad news: the deal agreed to by congressional leaders of both parties and the White House is a bad deal with weak spending cuts in the short-term, unenforceable spending cuts in the long-term (remember, no future Congress can be bound on spending levels by a prior Congress), and a massive $2 trillion plus hike in the debt.
Ratings agencies have consistently called for at least $4 trillion in cuts to avoid a downgrade - and rated the Boehner and Reid bills on which the final deal was based as inadequate for putting the country on a sound fiscal footing. This current deal includes only $0.9 trillion in guaranteed cuts and in a best case scenario envisions an additional $1.5 trillion in cuts. And these are Washington cuts, not real cuts; they merely reduce the expected rate of increase in spending, while the federal government will continue to grow.
Moreover, the trigger mechanism relies on cuts to Medicare provider payments that are unlikely to generate any real savings given the experience with the failed Sustainable Growth Rate that is routinely "fixed" by annual legislation. The exemption of Medicaid will allow ObamaCare's enormous expansion of the program to continue unaffected.
Additionally, this agreement calls for a new super committee that could propose significant new tax hikes, especially increases in business taxes, always a bad idea but especially now, when high rates are already undermining our competitiveness and the economy is still weak.
While we appreciate that the debate has been focused on the right problem of spending and has considerably improved from earlier bipartisan proposals, we must remain firm to our commitment to the "Cut, Cap, and Balance" approach as the only way to genuinely solve the problem of out-of-control spending.
For these reasons, Americans for Prosperity opposes the deal agreed to by congressional leaders of both parties and the White House.
Some friends are throwing up their hands after this debt limit battle and saying, "it's more of the same games from Washington and we're not making a difference."
I could not disagree more.
For years the debt limit was routinely raised while Washington was run by both Democrats and Republicans. It was routine and there was not even a debate.
This battle was anything but routine. For months now the nation has been confronted by the fact that government over-spending is sapping our nation's prosperity, driving us deeper into debt, and endangering our future.
This debt limit battle is simply another key battle in the long effort we must wage to rein in excessive government spending.
Instead of throwing up our hands, AFP is going to re-double efforts to keep pressure on Congress while also building up our grassroots strength.
We're going to win this thing. It's just going to take a while.
Sincerely,
Tim Phillips

Limbaugh: Don't Be Fooled - Debt Deal Means More Taxes
Monday, 01 Aug 2011
By Martin Gould
Whether the deal to reduce the government deficit passes or not, says radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh, the American people are still going to get a tax increase. "Any way you slice it you are going to get tax increases. That's how screwed we are," he said. Limbaugh blames the complex accounting done by the Congressional Budget Office, he said on his radio show on Monday. President George W. Bush's tax cuts that are due to expire at the end of next year, he says. If Obama extends the cuts, the CBO will consider that a $ 5 trillion reduction in government income which will have to be made up elsewhere. If they expire, that's a direct tax hike on Americans, Limbaugh said.

When Benjamin Franklin was asked at the close of the Constitutional Convention, "What have we got-a Republic or a Monarchy?" His answer was, "A republic, if you can keep it." What has come out of the debt ceiling talks is not a republic, but tyranny on the installment plan. The choice today is whether we will have a nation or a pile of debt created by the uncontrolled spending of the ruling elites and their political machines. And the outlook isn't sunny. The mishandled budget battle has ended in a predictable deal with cosmetic cuts. The issue isn't just about right vs left. It's about whether we'll have a functional nation or a bankrupt welfare state. A nation that has gone so deep into debt to fund social and corporate welfare that it has no chance of recovery. We have Two Americas, to borrow John Edwards' stolen slogan. The America of the worker and the America of the government. These two Americas are on a collision course. The debt economy will destroy the America of the worker and leave only the America of the government. The same thing already happened in Europe. The EU put the eggs of the state into one giant basket. The spending went on and now it's up to the stronger economies to pick up the tab. But the stronger economies have their limits too. Germany can bail out Portugal and Greece, but sooner or later someone will have to bail out Germany.

Mr. Cohen,
Attacks on the Tea Party movement show diminishing returns for the attackers. We've been badmouthed by the best in the business, yet we continue to plug along.
The corruption of Fannie Mae that enriched its managers with obscene wealth, and which enticed Wall Street to join in the looting of America, was not enabled by you, by me, nor by the Tea Parties. It was consciously enabled by our elected leaders.
Likewise, the debts under which we stagger, the reduced housing values, the continuing unemployment, were not caused by you, by me nor by the Tea Parties. Gutting our economy, these things were all caused or enabled by our elected leaders.
When you write, "The tea party has recklessly diminished the power and reach of the United States...", it only shows that your understanding of what's actually diminished our power is not merely feeble, but non-existent.
Sincerely,
Louis Flanagan

August 2, 2011Green with Tea Party EnvyBy Richard Cohen
I suffer from tea party envy. There is little about the actual party I like and there are some members I abhor, but I am jealous of its sense of purpose, its determination and its bracing conviction that it is absolutely right. In its own way, it waves a crimson battle flag while President Obama's is a sickly taupe -- the limp banner of an ideological muddle.
Obama would be a good White House chief of staff, but as a president he lacks political savvy. He never knew how to get ahead of the tea party wave. He never knew how to marshal -- or create -- his own constituency. Republican invective notwithstanding, he lacks demagogic tools. He tries to solve problems instead of, for the Republicans, creating them. Barack Obama does not do pain.

What would we win in a debt ceiling deal? Saying "Nothing" is easy but not true
Aug 02, 2011 06:13 am | Coach Collins
By Kevin "Coach" Collins
One thing we can say for sure about whatever Debt Ceiling deal is struck is that some respected conservatives will hate it and other respected conservatives will think it's at barely acceptable. We might not know which side will be right for several months.
Saying we lost will certainly be an easy argument to make. We likely we won't get the type of cuts we wanted. In fact the cuts we'll get might be quite small and loaded into future years.
Why then should conservatives find something to like in whatever deal in hammered out? A change in the political narrative, that's what.
The tumult we witnessed in getting this far would NEVER have even happened if the TEA party hadn't forced Congress to talk about the debt and the deficit. In April when this started, Obama thought getting authorization to spend our grandchildren's money would be no more difficult than writing a ... Supreme Court Should Not Take This Obamacare Case
This column by ACRU Senior Legal Analyst Ken Klukowski was published July 30, 2011 on The Washington Examiner website. News outlets are announcing that Obamacare has reached the Supreme Court. But while the high court must soon consider whether President Obama's signature legislation is constitutional, this case is not the one conservatives should want. The worst provision of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act -- aka Obamacare -- is Section 1501, the individual mandate requiring virtually all Americans to buy and maintain federally approved insurance starting in 2014. The Thomas More Law Center filed one of the Obamacare cases, raising the sole issue of whether the individual mandate is unconstitutional. The case lost in the district court and again before the 6th Circuit federal appeals court. This week the TMLC petitioned the Supreme Court to take the case.

Atheists Cross Over 'Cross'
This column by ACRU Senior Legal Analyst Jan LaRue was published July 31, 2011 on the American Thinker blog. Those God-obsessed "American Atheists" filed suit in New York state court on July 25 to remove the World Trade Center "Cross" from the National September 11th Memorial and Museum. They're seeking relief from Cross-related dyspepsia. Most people try Tums or Rolaids instead of litigation. This is the same group demanding that Brooklyn rename a street named in honor of seven Brooklyn firefighters killed on 9/11. They claim that changing Richard Street to "Seven in Heaven Way" violates the "separation of church and state." David Silverman, president of American Atheists, told Fox News: "It implies that heaven actually exists." They also filed suit seeking the removal of roadside crosses honoring fallen Utah state troopers. A federal court ruled in favor of the crosses but an appeals court ruled against them. The Utah Attorney General has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to review the ruling and the American Civil Rights Union has filed an amicus brief in support.

Federal Appeals Court: Saying "Jesus" During Public Prayer Is Unconstitutional
This column by ACRU Senior Legal Analyst Ken Klukowski was published July 30, 2011 on The Washington Examiner website. As in most counties in America, the Board of Commissioners of Forsyth County, North Carolina, begins its public meetings with an invocation. These prayers are given by local religious leaders on a first-come, first-serve basis. Given that 95 percent of local religious houses identify as Christian, it's not surprising that many of the invocations include specifically Christian language, often closing the prayer in the name of "Jesus Christ" or "Jesus." Two non-Christians from the community with a population of approximately 350,000 sued, arguing that an invocation mentioning Jesus Christ during a public prayer violates the Establishment Clause of the Constitution.

Here's what President Barack Obama said about our high rate of unemployment in an interview with NBC's Ann Curry: "The other thing that happened, though -- and this goes to the point you were just making -- is there are some structural issues with our economy, where a lot of businesses have learned to become much more efficient with a lot fewer workers," adding that "you see it when you go to a bank and you use an ATM; you don't go to a bank teller. Or you go to the airport and you're using a kiosk instead of checking in at the gate." The president's statements suggest that he sees labor-saving technological innovation as a contributor to today's high rate of unemployment. That's unmitigated nonsense. Let's see whether technological innovation causes unemployment. In 1790, farmers were 90 percent, out of a population of nearly 3 million, of the U.S. labor force. By 1900, only about 41 percent of our labor force was employed in agriculture. By 2008, fewer than 3 percent of Americans were employed in agriculture. Through labor-saving technological advances and machinery, our farmers are the world's most productive. As a result, Americans are better off.

2012 Update
- Pollster Scott Rasmussen yesterday released some new polling data on the state of the GOP primary campaign. Among likely Republican primary voters, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney leads with 22%. Texas Governor Rick Perry is second with 18%, followed closely by Minnesota Representative Michele Bachmann at 16%. Texas Representative Ron Paul is fourth with 10%. Herman Cain receives 9%, followed Gingrich (6%), Pawlenty (3%) and Huntsman (2%).
Rasmussen then narrows the field to test the top contenders. With just the top three, Romney again finishs first with 34%, followed by Bachmann at 27% and Rick Perry at 26%. A two-way race between Romney and Bachmann is essentially tied (44%-to-42%), while Romney leads Perry 43%-to-39%.
- As I wrote in yesterday's report, the debt limit debate has hurt Barack Obama. In the latest Gallup poll, Obama's approval rating among independent voters is down to 37% - a new low. Among self-described "conservative Democrats," Obama's rating is down to 59%. Terry Jeffrey of CNSnews.com notes, "As recently as three weeks ago, Obama enjoyed 70 percent approval among conservative Democrats."
- While it is true that polls are just snapshots in time, a Quinnipiac poll released this morning raised many eyebrows in Washington. According to the poll, 54% of registered Pennsylvania voters disapprove of Barack Obama's performance as president. Moreover, 52% feel that he does not deserve to be reelected. In head-to-head match-ups, Obama is under 50% against the leading GOP candidates, and narrowly trails Mitt Romney 42% to 44%.
Why is this significant? Pennsylvania hasn't voted for a Republican presidential candidate since 1988. Twenty years later Obama carried the state by 10 points over John McCain. If Pennsylvania is in play next year, Obama will have a very difficult time getting reelected.
Done Deal; Now What?
Earlier today, the United States Senate voted 74-to-26 to approve the debt limit deal. This is a flawed deal, but it is not flawed because of Mitch McConnell or John Boehner. It is flawed because of Barack Obama and Harry Reid. With this fight behind us, suddenly some people, in their understandable frustration, are floating some really bad ideas.
What am I referring to? Last week, Donald Trump suggested he might still run for president as an independent or third party candidate if the economy remains bad. That is a bad idea unless his goal is to reelect Barack Obama.
There has been talk among Tea Party activists about launching primary challenges against conservative Republicans, such as Rep. Allen West (R-FL), who supported the deal. Some Tea Party folks are so upset that they are threatening to abandon the Republican Party entirely. That is a bad idea unless they want to reelect Barack Obama, keep Harry Reid as Senate Majority Leader and make Nancy Pelosi Speaker of the House once again.
Some GOP elites are whispering again that we should drop values issues such as the right to life and the definition of marriage in 2012. The Republican Party is not the Libertarian Party. Abandoning values issues would be a bad idea unless they want to reelect Barack Obama.
I could go on, but I think my point is clear. It is never easy to defeat an incumbent president. The left is desperate to maintain its power. Obama's campaign will dominate the airwaves. The media will be his ally. The conservative movement must be united and focused if we are going to have any hope of taking America back!
Say It Ain't So, Mitch
Writing at The Weekly Standard, Stephen Hayes reports that three sources are telling him that any Republican senator who voted today against the debt limit deal will be "ineligible" to serve on the "super committee" for deficit reduction that must report this November.
According to Rush Limbaugh, another reliable conservative, Byron York, reports that the rumors of retribution are untrue. Let's hope so. Implementing that sort of rule would disqualify exactly the kind of conservatives we need on that super committee - people like Senator Jim DeMint (SC), Marco Rubio (FL), Jeff Sessions (AL) and Pat Toomey (PA). These are the type of senators that would reassure the conservative base of the GOP that the super committee won't raise taxes while gutting the Defense budget.
We urge Sen. McConnell to knock down this rumor now. We need our strongest conservatives in the Senate and the House to be on the committee - the men and women who can stand up to the pounding our side will inevitably receive from Big Media and Washington's liberal elites.
9/11 Cross Controversy
As the National September 11 Memorial and Museum gets ready to open its doors, it is having to fight a frivolous lawsuit filed by the fringe group American Atheists. At issue is the museum's intention to include what has since become known as the Ground Zero Cross. Inclusion of the cross at the 9/11 museum, the group alleges, subjects atheists to injury "in consequence of having a religious tradition not their own imposed upon them." Here we go again.
The phrase "separation of church and state" is not in the Constitution. The First Amendment was intended to encourage freedom of religion, not freedom from religion!
The Founding Fathers did not want to establish a national church, like England's Anglican Church. But they were by no means hostile to faith. In fact, in his farewell address, George Washington said the following:
"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness... It is substantially true that virtue or morality is a necessary spring of popular government."
When America was attacked on 9/11, we didn't turn to the ACLU or American Atheists for guidance. True to our national motto, "In God We Trust," we turned to God. We prayed for the victims in the Twin Towers and the first responders who rushed in.
We prayed for the men and women at the Pentagon and for the heroes on Flight 93, which crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Members of Congress joined hands on the steps of the Capitol to sing "God Bless America." In the days that followed, America's churches and synagogues were full.
America was founded on the conviction that all men were endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights. And America remains a deeply religious nation.
The atheists and their liberal allies are wrong. In their version of America, we would have to ban the Declaration of Independence from our schools and sandblast the tombstones of countless graves at our national cemeteries.
It is wholly appropriate for the Ground Zero Cross to occupy a place of honor at the National September 11 Memorial and Museum. To suggest otherwise dishonors our heritage as well as the men and women of faith who have sacrificed so much to defend our freedom.

Obama's Ineligibility: Prepare to Defend America -- Regime Change By Lawrence Sellin CanadaFreePress.com
Alexander Hamilton wrote in Federalist No. 16, that the American people are "the natural guardians of the Constitution" and should take whatever action is necessary when their representatives in the federal government concur with the usurpations of another Branch -- and thereby violate their oaths to defend the Constitution. In Federalist No. 33, Hamilton says: "If the federal government should overpass the just bounds of its authority and make a tyrannical use of its powers, the people, whose creature it is, must appeal to the standard they have formed [the Constitution], and take such measures to redress the injury done to the Constitution as the exigency may suggest and prudence justify." Obama Puts the Chinese Military on the Move Again By Jim Emerson

China has been demanding the U.S. halt all reconnaissance flights over international waters near its border. China's Defense Ministry told the Global Times newspaper, "We demand that the U.S. respect China's sovereignty and security interests, and take concrete measures to boost a healthy and stable development of military relations." The only problem is that the U.S. surveillance flights have been operating outside of China's sovereign territory. Tensions have increased after a pair of Chinese fighters attempted to intercept an American....

Why I Opposed the Debt Limit Increase By Rep. Tom McClintock, R-CA

This act increases the debt limit by between $2.1 and $2.4 trillion, the biggest explosion of debt in American history. It allows the government to avoid spending reductions for the next two years while squandering our last best hope of averting a sovereign debt crisis. I am opposed to this measure for the following reasons....

Allen West Fights Back By Dr. Marvin J. Folkertsma
|
Amidst the rhetorical pyrotechnics surrounding July's debt-ceiling debates, another controversy streaked across the sky like a comet, flared for an instant, then receded into the maelstrom of ongoing partisan attacks. The shooting star in question involved an exchange between two of Congress' most controversial members, Allen West (R-Fla.) and Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), whose regard for one another constitutes something of a congressional equivalent to how the Earps and Doc Holliday felt about the Clanton-McLaury gang at the OK Corral. Except in this case, only one of the participants was present, and this was the problem....

RECENT VIRGINIA CHURCH SERVICE - STIMULUS SERMON Genesis 47:13-27
I would love to give the Pastor of this predominantly black churchin Virginia three cheers. This guy is obviously a leader. Perhaps we should each decide who our real leader is... It is amazing to see that very little has changed in 4,000 years. --------------------------------------------------- Good morning, brothers and sisters; it's always a delight to see the pews crowded on Sunday morning, and so eager to get into God's Word. Turn with me in your Bibles, if you will, to the 47th chapter of Genesis. We'll begin our reading at verse 13, and go through verse 27. Brother Ray, would you stand and read that great passage for us? ... (reading) ... Thank you for that fine reading, Brother Ray. So we see that economic hard times fell upon Egypt , and the people turned to the government of Pharaoh to deal with this for them. And Pharaoh nationalized the grain harvest, and placed the grain in great storehouses that he had built. So the people brought their money to Pharaoh, like a great tax increase, and gave it all to him willingly in return for grain. And this went on until their money ran out, and they were hungry again. So when they went to Pharaoh after that, they brought their livestock - their cattle, their horses, their sheep, and their donkey - to barter for grain, and verse 17 says that only took them through the end of that year. But the famine wasn't over, was it? So the next year, the people came before Pharaoh and admitted they had nothing left, except their land and their own lives. "There is nothing left in the sight of my lord but our bodies and our land. Why should we die before your eyes, both we and our land? Buy us and our land for food, and we with our land will be servants to Pharaoh." So they surrendered their homes, their land, and their real estate to Pharaoh's government, and then sold themselves into slavery to him, in return for grain. What can we learn from this, brothers and sisters? That turning to the government instead of to God to be our provider in hard times only leads to slavery? Yes... That the only reason government wants to be our provider is to also become our master? Yes. But look how that passage ends, brothers and sisters! Thus Israel settled in the land of Egypt , in the land of Goshen . And they gained possessions in it, and were fruitful and multiplied greatly." God provided for His people, just as He always has! They didn't end up giving all their possessions to government, no, it says they gained possessions! But I also tell you a great truth today, and an ominous one. We see the same thing happening today - the government today wants to "share the wealth" once again, to take it from us and redistribute it back to us. It wants to take control of healthcare, just as it has taken control of education, and ration it back to us, and when government rations it, then government decides who gets it, and how much, and what kind. And if we go along with it, and do it willingly, then we will wind up no differently than the people of Egypt did four thousand years ago - as slaves to the government, and as slaves to our leaders. What Mr. Obama's government is doing now is no different from what Pharaoh's government did then, and it will end the same. And a lot of people like to call Mr.Obama a "Messiah," don't they? Is he a Messiah? A savior? Didn't the Egyptians say, after Pharaoh made them his slaves, "You have saved our lives; may it please my lord, we will be servants to Pharaoh"? Well, I tell you this - I know the Messiah; the Messiah is a friend of mine; and Mr. OBAMA IS NO MESSIAH! No, brothers and sisters, if Mr. Obama is a character from the Bible, then he is Pharaoh. Bow with me in prayer, if you will... Lord, You alone are worthy to be served, and we rely on You, and You alone. We confess that the government is not our deliverer, and never rightly will be. We read in the eighth chapter of 1 Samuel, when Samuel warned the people of what a ruler would do, where it says "And in that day you will cry out because of your king, whom you have chosen for yourselves, but the LORD will not answer you in that day..."
And Lord, we acknowledge that day has come. We cry out to you because of the ruler that we have chosen for ourselves as a nation. Lord, we pray for this nation. We pray for revival, and we pray for deliverance from those who would be our masters. Give us hearts to seek You and hands to serve You, and protect Your people from the atrocities of Pharaoh's government. In God We Trust... ***********************************************

The Senate Passed the Debt Ceiling Bill | The bill has been passed by the House and the Senate and goes to the President for signature.
|
Debt Deal is a Blank Check Peter Schiff Chief Global Strategist of Euro Pacific Capital | The risk of default existed only in the minds of politicians. The real crisis is not the debt ceiling, it is the debt. Failure to raise the ceiling would not have been a disaster, but raising it certainly is. The promised cuts in spending do not outweigh the increase in the debt. The $900 billion in cuts are spread over a decade and are skewed toward the end of that period. And $1.4 trillion in cuts are planned to be identified by a bi-partisan committee. In the past similar panels did not deliver on their mandates. None of these "cuts" are binding. Future Congresses can reverse what was agreed to over the past weeks. Economic weakness could be used to justify suspension of the cuts. And most of the spending reductions were already scheduled to take effect before this agreement was made. What did we really get? The Congressional Budget Office projects that $9.5 trillion in new debt will be issued over the next 10 years. Even if all of the reductions proposed in the deal were to come to pass, which is highly unlikely, that would still leave $7.1 trillion in new debt accumulation by 2021. The structure announced today allows both political parties to talk about reform without actually changing anything. [CNBC, Aug. 2] Click here for the complete source story

Borrowing to surge after debt cap raised | The Treasury expects to issue $331 billion in debt in the July-September quarter, up from $190 billion in the previous period. During October-December, it will borrow another $285 billion. The Treasury has been operating at the $14.3 trillion level since May, unable to increase borrowing. It warned that if the ceiling was not raised by August 2, the country will have to renege on some commitments, including possibly defaulting on its debt. But Republicans refused to agree to an increase unless they could get a long-term deficit reduction plan they could agree on, sparking a grinding political battle that was still not resolved Monday afternoon, one day before the deadline. Largest Debt-Limit Increase in U.S. History | The bill to increase the federal debt limit that has been put before Congress would increase that limit by up to $2.4 trillion, the largest increase in the debt limit in U.S. history. If the current bill is passed the two largest debt-limit increases in U.S. history would come in back-to-back years during the presidency of Barack Obama. Before Obama's presidency George W. Bush signed a law that lifted the limit by $984 billion and President George H. Bush signed a law that lifted the limit by $915 billion. [CNS News, Aug. 2] Click here for the complete source story |

On Tuesday's Program
Chris Matthews drunk on air?
Glenn has the disturbing audio from a recent episode of 'Hardball' in which Chris Matthews is having an extremely difficult time communicating. His points were incoherent - par for the course - but he was also having trouble pronouncing words and speaking the English language in general. Did Matthews consume vast amounts of alcohol shortly before his program? If anyone can spot an alcoholic - it's Glenn, who is a recovering alcoholic. Check out the segment and you decide. WATCH
Glenn Beck: The Tea Party is being set up
The media is quick to point out that 'the Tea Party won' the debt debate, going as far to say that they are bullying the President with the Vice President reportedly calling them 'terrorists'. That's quite interesting spin because there aren't many (if any) Tea Party members praising this deal. In fact, it's the opposite - they are not happy with it at all. So why would the media - who not long ago mocked and belittled the Tea Party relentlessly - suddenly paint the false picture that the Tea Party is running the show? Glenn explains on radio today.
Death to Tyranny: The very first item in Glenn's 1791 clothing line is the Death to Tyranny t-shirt. Today at Markdown.com you can get the 1791 T-shirt for $17.91 - but hurry, the deal only lasts two days! Get it HERE.
Sheila Jackson Lee: Read the bill!
Oh, Democrats. It was only a short while ago that Democrats were begging Americans to NOT read the healthcare bill - just wait and be surprised at what's inside! But that was then - now Democrats are demanding that the entire bill be read! And who better to lead the charge than Sheila Jackson Lee? WATCH.
Glenn's interview with Rand Paul
Fresh off a horrific, journalistic integrity free interview with CNN, Senator Rand Paul joined Glenn on radio to talk about that but more importantly to go over the latest with the debt deal. The media says the Tea Party won the day - but Tea Party candidate Rand Paul doesn't agree with that assessment. Get the full story HERE.
Who do you like in 2012? If you haven't made your mind up yet, get more information. Since Obama was elected, Glenn has sat down with Michele Bachmann, Ron Paul, Sarah Palin, Rick Perry and more as they share their thoughts on the issues facing America - get the interviews HERE.
