Cenk Uygur hosted a prime-time show on the MSNBC after the Keith Olbermann firing resulted in a rearrangement of the prime time lineup. Uygur filled the 6 p.m. Eastern slot vacated by Ed Schultz since late January. In the video Uygur explains he turned down a significantly larger MSNBC contract for a much smaller role because he was told by the MSNBC president that the decision to remove him from primetime was due to political pressure from people in Washington who did not like his "tone" which was very critical of President Obama.

Press Release:
AFDI/SIOA 9/11 Freedom Rally:
Stand Against Ground Zero Mosque, and Durban III, Stand for America
NEW YORK, July 6: The human rights organization American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) will be hosting its second annual 9/11 Freedom Rally on September 11 at 3pm at Park Place and West Broadway.
Free citizens are coming from all over the U.S. to attend the rally. "It is crucial to stand for freedom on this tenth anniversary of the heinous 9/11 jihad attacks," said AFDI Executive Director Pamela Geller. "We must show the jihadists we are unbowed in the defense of freedom."
AFDI and its Stop Islamization of America (SIOA) program are encouraging all Americans to stand against the Islamic supremacist mega-mosque at Ground Zero and the anti-Semitic Durban III conference that will be held in New York City at the same time, and for American values on the tenth anniversary of the worst attack ever on American soil.
The confirmed list of speakers includes 9/11 family members Alexander and Maureen Santora, who lost their firefighter son Christopher; Sally Regenhard, whose son Christian was killed on 9/11; Nelly Braginsky, who lost her son Alexander; and others.
Other speakers include former U. S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton (video message); the courageous ex-Muslim human rights activist Wafa Sultan; war hero and North Carolina Congressional candidate Ilario Pantano; former prosecutor and bestselling author Andrew C. McCarthy; popular radio host Joyce Kaufman; Darla Dawald, National Director of the Patriot Action Network; James Lafferty of the Virginia Anti-Sharia Taskforce (VAST); Coptic Christian activist Joseph Nassralla; Iraqi ex-Muslim Paul Gaynos.
Hosting the rally are Pamela Geller, publisher of the acclaimed AtlasShrugs.com blog, executive director of AFDI and SIOA, and author of Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance (WND Books); and AFDI/SIOA associate director Robert Spencer, the bestselling author and director of Jihad Watch.
Building the Ground Zero mosque is not an issue of religious freedom, but of resisting an effort to insult the victims of 9/11 and to establish a beachhead for political Islam and Islamic supremacism in New York. Cordoba Initiative board member imam Feisal Abdul Rauf is an open proponent of Sharia, Islamic law, a system that denies the freedom of speech, the freedom of conscience, and the equality of rights of all people before the law. Given the thousands of triumphal mosques that have been built on the cherished sites of conquered peoples throughout Islamic history, the mosque leaders' claim that this mosque would be understood differently by Muslims worldwide lack foundation.
The Durban III conference follows upon two previous conferences that scapegoated and demonized the state of Israel in service of Islamic jihad and Islamic supremacist interests. The rally will defend Israel against the defamation to which it will be subjected at this conference. It will also call upon the city to remove roadblocks to the reconstruction of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, which was destroyed on 9/11 and since then mired in bureaucratic red tape that has prevented its rebuilding - in stark contrast to the help Mayor Bloomberg and other city officials have given to the Ground Zero Mosque project.
AFDI/SIOA is one of America's foremost organizations defending human rights, religious liberty, and the freedom of speech against Islamic supremacist intimidation and attempts to bring elements of Sharia to the United States.
"We have gone to the capitals of our states and to the capitals of our government. We have talked to all the power brokers. The only power broker, the only seat of government that can and will solve this problem with or without us is God. It is time to return inside the walls that surround Jerusalem and stand with people of all faiths, all around the world," Glenn said in his initial announcement.
"In August, whether I'm there with seven people or 10 people or there alone, I will stand. I ask you to join me. I also ask you to take this message globally, to take this to every corner of the earth. If you have family living overseas, this is not an America solution. This is a people of faith solution. This is a people all over the world solution. I ask you to help get this word out."

WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT
UN AGENDA 21
aka Local Agenda 21 & "sustainable development"
WILL SHOCK YOU!!!
Do you have a nagging feeling something is wrong, but you don't know exactly what? Who controls the US? Who writes our laws? Is it our elected officials or a higher organization like the UN? Do you know where our money comes from and how debt affects us?
Join us Saturday, July 23rd - 6pm PJ Ryan's 231 Bridge St., Phoenixville - private downstairs meeting room
There will be a discussion about UN Agenda 21 Sustainable Development, Property Rights & our Money. This meeting may help fill in some of the blanks that the media leaves out.
Agenda 21 is a plan that calls for international control & regulation of virtually every aspect of human activity that might impact the environment, which is essentially EVERYTHING YOU DO - eat, drink, cook, drive, play, work, and LIVE.
Maurice Strong, UN Secretary General - 1992 Rio de Janeiro United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) said "...Current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class involving high meat consumption and large amounts of frozen and convenience foods, use of fossil fuels, appliances, home and workplace air-conditioning, and suburban housing are NOT sustainable. So, what does he mean by NOT Sustainable? http://sovereignty.net/p/sd/strong.html
Translation: YOU will NO longer be allowed to have them.
J. Gary Lawrence, 1998 UK, UNEP Conference said ..."Participating in a UN advocated planning process would very likely bring out many... who would actively work to defeat any elected official... undertaking Local Agenda 21/Sustainable Development. So, we call our process something else such as "comprehensive planning," 'growth management' or 'smart growth.'" http://www.unedforum.org/publications/millennium/mill%20paper2.pdf

Many of us went to the Restoring Honor event last year and we were deeply moved by the day's events. Being with others we know made this even more special. Although we are not going to travel to Israel, we are hoping that we can recreate that atmosphere here in Bucks County. We are still in the development stages of this event and would like to hear your suggestions on how to have it work out. And if you can help with the planning, set up and the break down, please let us know. These events are even more special when you are part of the effort to make it come off well for everyone who comes. Be sure to invite your friends and family to come as well. This would be a great opportunity to meet other patriots and meet some new ones.
There will be weekly meetings every Wednesday at P J Ryan's, 231 Bridge Street, Phoenixville - 6pm - downstairs
We will be discussing UN Agenda 21 & Sustainable Development, as well as other topics relevant with today's problems like the NWO, Congress, debt, how to be prepared for the future disasters, etc.... July 20th - 7:00pm Introduction to CoHousing presented by: Joel Bartlett download PDF
The will of the American people was heard loud and clear on Wednesday night as thousands like you called Congress to demand that they cut the deficit immediately, cap future spending and pass a strong Balanced Budget Amendment. Thanks to your efforts, the House of Representatives PASSED the Cut, Cap, Balance Act by a bipartisan vote of 234-190!
Now this critical legislation will be voted on in the Senate this Saturday, and while Democrats may control the chamber-we have the momentum. Tell your Senators to vote YES!
President Obama talks a big game about debt reduction, but has no plan. The Democrats claim to have a budget, but introduce nothing. And rather than "cut, cap, and balance", establishment Republicans like Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell want to "cut, run and hide." Americans deserve better.
McConnell's plan would give Obama the authority to raise the debt ceiling, while letting his Republican Senate colleagues avoid having to vote in favor of the increase itself. That's just spineless. The other plan is a tax-raising scheme being secretly negotiated by six Senators known as the "Gang of Six".
The Tea Party movement is different. No backroom deals and no compromising our principles for political gain. We support the Cut, Cap, Balance Act as the only real and responsible solution to the fiscal crisis facing our country. But if we are going to turn this momentum into a win in the Senate, the CCB Act needs your support too. Support it NOW!
Thank you.

In response to the meeting Tuesday night:
Penn Action and BuxMont Coalition for Peace Action are co-sponsoring a public meeting dedicated to Medicaid, Medicare and Defense spending reduction.
Tuesday, July 19, 2011, 7:00 p.m. Pennswood Village Game Room 1382 Newtown Langhorne Rd Newtown, PA 18940-2401
We are hosting the public meeting to explore the ramifications of Cong. Fitzpatrick's April 15 vote to effectively end Medicaid, Medicare and the Affordable Care Act. We will also be talking about military spending and ways to reduce it beyond destroying America's safety net. On June 30, Penn Action requested, in writing, that the Congressman schedule a series of no fewer than four town halls around the district to explain his vote to destroy Medicaid, Medicare and the Affordable Care Act. He has not yet complied. His vote carries real consequences for the people of the 8th CD. For instance, 58% of nursing home patients in the 8th CD are on Medicaid. During the meeting we will discuss questions we all have about the impact of ending Medicaid (and Medicare) on real people. Join us on Tuesday, June 19 and encourage your friends to attend. The meeting will be informative and there will be time for discussion.

The meeting hosted by Robbin Stelly consisted of speakers that spoke in favor of:
Reducing the military and no need for things like Nuclear submarines etc.
The wonderful benefits of Obama Care
Republican destruction of Medicaid and Medicare and of course doing this on the back of seniors and benefiting the rich and throwing the seniors out of nursing homes into the streets, blah, blah, blah.
Of course they had a rude and loud Union representative that cursed the Right and the Tea Party and claimed that we need more government jobs to stimulate the economy and kill Walmart
There was even a fellow supporter that was not a scheduled speaker who claimed that Canada and especially CUBA had the best Medical Systems.
The audience consisted of approximately 40% opposed to the panel, most of who vocally and adamantly objected to their left wing rhetoric. The balance of the audience was either mute, brain dead and a few shouted out comments and applauded.
90% of the people who formally asked questions actually addressed the issues in detail and strongly criticized the agenda with articulation and solid facts. Several were military and combat veterans. The fact that this was an anti-Republican/ Fitzpatrick agenda, with the emphasis to scare the seniors and especially in this retirement/ nursing home location was revealed. Most of the panel, I think were taken back and did not have an adequate response
A t the end Robbin said, that 'I guess we did not do enough to scare seniors tonight and get the message across'.
I did not see any of the reporters approach any of the audience speakers. They flocked to the panel, however.
John Cuzzimano video recorded the event and I understand will make it available on WKTP. Additionally, I audio recorded the event.
My Comment: I felt I was in a US worker's Communist meeting in the 1930's or in Bulgaria in the 1950's.
Tuesday night felt pretty good, didn't it? The House GOP, joined by five Democrats, voted for Cut, Cap, and Balance. Finally, the House led on solid reform to turn the tide. Senators got active quickly to undermine the effort and still the House held the line.
Great, wasn't it? The Gang of 234 stood for freedom and, as an added bonus, gave a wonderful middle finger to the Gang of 6 and its plan to raise taxes more than any other Congress in the history of the Republic all while pretending its offering up tax cuts.
All the while, even as members of the House were voting, the Republican Leaders in the House were conspiring against House members to cut their legs out from under them.
Reporters are starting to whisper to each other and some are even starting to write about it. John Boehner and Eric Cantor are ready to give up. The vote was just for show. They think because Cut, Cap, and Balance won't pass the Senate, it is time to embrace either MItch McConnell or Gang of Six. It's sad that House leaders want their own to pick their poison, Pontius Pilate or Gangrene. Fellas, if you haven't noticed, poison kills you.
But it's not just that. House Leaders want to also throw in a few smoke and mirrors. They want a "short term deal". Have we not punted enough? Have we not kicked the can down the road enough? We don't need a short term deal. We don't need to waiver. We don't need to falter. We don't need to fail. We need to hold the freaking line. We've got a plan, folks. Respect the plan.
When the boys in leadership run off the battlefield, will the freedom fighters in the House hold the line?
Rupert and James Murdoch were a great tag team yesterday before the Parliamentary inquiry. In fact, I dare say the pie attack coupled with Mrs. Murdoch's response lent sympathy toward the Murdoch clan and ultimately helped Rupert Murdoch take the upper hand in the hearings.
But in this country, Media Matters, the left in general, and the Obama Administration are savoring the possible destruction of News Corp, which they view as an enemy.
It's both sad and funny that the Obama Administration and Democrats are considering stretching the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act relating to bribing foreign officials to try to kill off one of the handful of major news organizations not giving Obama a free, near propagandistic ride like MSNBC does.
But what's so hilariously hypocritical about all of this comes down to Eric Holder and bananas. Nope, not kidding.
I have long considered Empower Texans to be the most important and effective state level conservative grassroots organization in the country. These people are not just respected in Texas; they are feared. It is an awesome thing to behold.
Michael Quinn Sullivan and company do excellent work educating Texans on the men who go to Austin claiming to be conservatives only to turn left out of the eyes of their constituents.
And they use Twitter as part of their communication strategy. In fact, twitter is a key component of their outreach. Or at least it was.
Today, Twitter not only shut down the Empower Texans twitter feed, but it also shut down the twitter feeds of every individual who works for Empower Texans.
Twitter is a private organization. It can do what it wants. But I am very troubled that it did so without explanation and without anyone for Empower Texans to contact.
If this was an orchestrated effort on the part of others to flag Empower Texans as a spam account such that Twitter's computer system would automatically can it, Twitter has a serious security problem.
It was a man made decision, Twitter has even bigger problems.
The Politico has been losing more and more good writers of late and, correspondingly, has been more and more prone to run Democrat talking points in their articles.
It's becoming more apparent why the Politico is showing its Democrat colors and becoming more Huffington Post like.

Jonathan Allen used to work for Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
And now Andy Barr is leaving to go work for the Democratic Party. So, in other words, he can't even hide behind the excuse that he has a personal relationship with person X. Noooo . . . he's going to shill for the party.

Since 1964, our nation's senior citizens have relied on Medicare to ensure access to healthcare. Now the program is going broke -- and it is going broke fast.
It began spending its reserves in 2008 when payouts exceeded dollars collected for the program. [cite]
Predictions for exhaustion of the reserve vary, with 2024 identified by the Social Security Administration in the Trustees 2011 report. [cite]
The Democrat response is to reduce the amount Medicare reimburses physicians for their services. [cite]
This will result in fewer participating physicians and the physicians continuing in the program seeing fewer Medicare patients.
Patients will wait longer and have fewer choices in seeing a doctor.
If this makes access to care sufficiently untenable, or if Medicare does not get on viable financial footing, it will be administered through ObamaCare[cite].
This would include cost controls by a 15-member board of bureaucrats deciding wich treatments, drugs, and surgeries patients can receive.
Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), Chairman of the House Committee on the Budget, has a plan which saves Medicare with no disruption to today's seniors and reasonable changes for future retirees.
The Ryan Plan is widely misunderstood and misrepresented. The future of our seniors' healthcare is too important to be decided on misinformation. Here are the facts about Medicare and the Ryan Plan.
The Ryan Plan in a Nutshell
Those currently retired and those close to retirement (55 and over) will see no change from the existing Medicare system. Existing physician reimbursement flaws will be corrected to encourage physicians to continue participating in the system.[cite]
On retirement, those currently under 55 will be provided vouchers from the government to help pay for health insurance. Voucher amounts will be based in part on income, with wealthier individuals receiving less assistance. Risk pools [cite] will be created to ensure that insurance companies will provide coverage to seniors, despite their generally higher use of medical care.
The result is retirees will have a system that gives them options, similar to that which members of Congress use and which will include options similar to Medicare Advantage, the popular plan eliminated by Obamacare. [cite]
The Ryan Plan Incorporates These Important Points
It is important that we
Plan now for changes, to avoid chaos later
The medicare system is running out of money. Change is coming, one way or another.
Pretending we can continue as we are is not an option, it is a recipe for disaster. The longer we wait to make changes, the greater the disruption to current and future retires, the more abruptly the changes will have to be implemented, and the fewer options we will have.
By implementing the Ryan Plan now, we will
maintain the existing system for current retirees and for individuals 55 and over
provide a sustainable, quality system for future retirees.
It is important that we...
Preserve the existing system, unchanged, for current retirees and workers 55 and older
This bears repeating:
Under the Ryan Plan, if you are retired, your Medicare coverage will not change.
If you are over 55, Medicare as it exists today will be there for you when you retire.
And the Ryan Plan provides for quality health insurance coverage upon retirement for those currently under 55.
It is important that we...
Maintain availability of insurance coverage for future retirees
Since individuals generally require more medical care as they age, it tends to be difficult for older individuals to find private health insurance that will cover them. That is one reason our existing Medicare system is considered so important for many. The Ryan Plan creates risk pools which encourage multiple insurance companies to offer health coverage to those of retirement age.
It is important that we...
Maintain affordability
Individuals have paid into the Medicare system with the promise that coverage will be there for them when they retire. Unfortunately, we are facing an economic crisis in this country and Medicare is a significant part of the problem. To save the system for everyone and to avert broader economic calamity, in the future wealthier Americans will have to bear a greater portion of their healthcare burden.
It is important that we...
Make it feasible for doctors to participate in Medicare
Currently in many areas of the country physicans are reimbursed for Medicare patients at a rate that does not cover their expenses. Recent changes put forth by the Democrats further reduce reimbursement. [cite] This is not sustainable for any business and as a result increasing numbers of physicians are discontinuing their participation in the Medcare program. Patients are finding that their physician is no longer a Medicare provider and when they look for another physician it is increasingly difficult for them to find a Medicare provider who is accepting new patients and can see them in a reasonable time. [cite]. The Ryan plan fixes the reimbursement problem, making it feasible for physicians to continue participating in Medicare.
It is important that we...
Keep medical decisions between patients and doctors, not remote government panels
The Ryan plan harnesses the free market and puts choice in the hands of the patient. Retirees will be able to pick the insurance plan that best meets their needs, applying government vouchers toward premium costs. Medical decisions would be made in consultation with their personal physician, based on the individual's situation and preferences.
Last week Israel celebrated its 62nd year as a nation, but there was major cause for concern amid the festivities as the Israeli people faced the looming menace of a nuclear-armed Iran, as well as the prospect of a rapidly deteriorating relationship with Washington. The Israel-bashing of the Obama administration has become so bad that even leading Democrats are now speaking out against the White House. New York Senator Chuck Schumer blasted Barack Obama's stance towards Israel in a radio interview last week, stating his "counter-productive" Israel policy "has to stop".

Iran blamed the strike on the US and Israel, a charge the US State Department dismissed as "absurd."

Sarah Palin has been laying low for a few weeks and I have not mentioned her. Michelle Bachmann was given some attention. But something happenned last weekend that made it almost certain the Sarah Palin will be the next President of the US.
"The Undefeated", a domumentary by Steve Bannon, about Palin's political career, received its first public showing in ten theaters, to packed houses and standing ovations. It was second only to a new Harry Potter movie, in gross take per theater. And this was with no paid promotion. The distributor immediately announced a nationwide rollout.
Here is one of the best reviews which was done by a Pennsylvania blogger
When Sarah Palin jumps into the presidential fray, The Undefeated may just be her secret weapon. The film chronicles Palin's entry into the world of politics, her time as a mayor and a governor, her run for the vice presidency, and the remarkable reactions she continues to draw from The Right, The Left,...
The price of admission to the extravaganza is indictment of the State of Israel, which is condemned and scorned regardless of the facts of history, the exercise of reason, or the recognition of cultural affinity.
David Mamet's understanding of drama unlocked secrets unrelated to the theater.
During a lifetime of creative achievement, the acclaimed playwright, screenwriter, and film director had seen how an audience could surrender part of its rationality for two hours in order to enjoy an illusion. But as he began reading and thinking about politics, he was horrified to learn how people also could surrender themselves into a mob. This epiphany was one factor in moving him from the political left to conservatism, a transition he expounds upon in his new book, "The Secret Knowledge: On the Dismantling of American Culture." Israel's parliament passed a law this week prohibiting economic boycotts against this nation. Since before the creation of the Jewish state, boycotts have been a major part of the Arabs' war against any Jewish presence in the Holy Land. Today, economic boycotts have become one of the main tools for delegitimizing, intimidating, undermining and unfairly singling out Israel. Israel's new anti-boycott law immediately met with complaints that it violates free speech and is inconsistent with democratic values. Critics say the law itself will delegitimize Israel and alienate its supporters in Western democracies. ...
In a recent Jerusalem Post interview, former deputy secretary of state Elliot Abrams said President Barack Obama "sees Israel as a problem," reminding us of the question that won't go away.
It's a question being asked by many a political pundit, and not just on the island of Manhattan or in Israel. As an American-Israeli who is often interviewed by perplexed conservative talk show hosts, and having written extensively about this president's relationship with Israel, the recurring question of American Jewish support for Israel has become one I can no longer avoid.
It goes something like this: - Is Obama really hostile to Israel, and if he is, why does he still have massive Jewish support? Furthermore, will there be a lateral shift in 2012? Concerning the first question, I believe the answer is clear to almost all Israelis. Three major opinion surveys taken in Israel in the past two years have posed the question, "Is President Obama...
A missile failure could result from defective products from China
WorldNetDaily
Editor's Note: The following report is excerpted from Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin,
Sources have confirmed that the U.S. Department of Defense over recent months purchased 59,000 microchips to use in Navy equipment that control everything from missiles to transponders, according to report in Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin.
But all of the chips turned out to be cheap knock-offs from China, and they ultimately were not installed, according to sources.
Besides being subject to failure, the chips also were designed with a "back door" which would have allowed the chip, and the device it controlled, to be shut down remotely at any time, sources report.
Had the flaw not been detected, the chips could have shut down U.S. warships, aircraft, advanced weapons systems and encoded transponders that distinguish friendly aircraft from hostile attackers.
WASHINGTON (JTA) -- Pro-Israel leaders in the United States, Britain and Australia are warily watching the unfolding of the phone-hacking scandal that is threatening to engulf the media empire of Rupert Murdoch, founder of News Corp.
Murdoch's sudden massive reversal of fortune -- with 10 top former staffers and executives under arrest in Britain for hacking into the phones of public figures and a murdered schoolgirl, and paying off the police and journalists -- has supporters of Israel worried that a diminished Murdoch presence may mute the strongly pro-Israel voice of many of the publications he owns.
"His publications and media have proven to be fairer on the issue of Israel than the rest of the media," said Malcolm Hoenlein, the executive vice-chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. "I hope that won't be impacted."
King announces third hearing on Muslim radicalization in US
By Daniel Strauss - 07/19/11
The chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security on Tuesday announced a third hearing on Islamic radicalization in America.
Rep. Pete King (R-N.Y.) said the hearing will take place on July 27. It is titled, "Al Shabaab: Recruitment and Radicalization within the Muslim American Community and the Threat to the Homeland."
There was a lot of buzz in Washington yesterday about a possible deal struck by the so-called "Gang of Six" - a bi-partisan group of six senators who have been working separately on deficit reduction ideas for months. President Obama praised the concept yesterday, and the stock market shot up on the news of progress in Congress.
As it turns out, there is no "deal" on the debt limit. What the Gang of Six has proposed is just a basic framework for a possible compromise on spending and tax reform to be dealt with later. There is not enough time for Congress to tackle all the issues proposed by the Gang of Six for this plan to address the debt limit.
Speaking to reporters yesterday evening, Senate Democrat Leader Harry Reid said, "We only have 13 days - 13 days... there's no legislative language - and understand that ... it has to start in the House because it's a heavily revenued bill."
Senate Democrat Whip Dick Durbin added that the plan was "not ready for prime time" because there is no chance that the Congressional Budget Office could thoroughly evaluate it before August 2nd.
What it may do, however, is provide the impetus for the Senate to pass a deal of some kind on the debt limit with the understanding that this bigger package to address America's fiscal crisis will be voted on in the near future. But again, we don't know the details, and some reporting appears contradictory. For example, there is talk of at least $1 trillion dollars in new revenue, but as much as $1.5 trillion in tax reduction. There also appears to be $1 trillion dollars in cuts to national defense. Stay tuned. We will monitor these developments closely.
But here's my gut reaction: Obama thought it sounded good. Sen. Jim DeMint and Rep. Paul Ryan thought it sounded bad. That's all I need to know. As of now, I'm against it.
Obama Embraces Same-Sex "Marriage"
That is the only way to characterize White House Press Secretary Jay Carney's statement yesterday that President Obama fully supports "the legislative repeal of the so-called Defense of Marriage Act," and "is proud to support the Respect for Marriage Act."
It is important to understand exactly what this means. The bill Obama just endorsed would for the first time require the federal government to recognize homosexual marriages by extending tax benefits to two men or two women who file joint tax returns.
More importantly, by repealing the Defense of Marriage Act, the bill demonstrates that libertarians and states' rights activists are fundamentally wrong when it comes to the marriage issue. The militant homosexual rights movement is seeking a national redefinition of marriage.
It is inconceivable that the country would end up with a system where the status of your marriage changes based upon what state you live in. It is not reasonable to assume that two men "married" in Massachusetts would suddenly become "unmarried" if they moved to Oklahoma or any of the dozens of other states that have adopted marriage protection amendments. Either normal marriage will prevail or we will end up with same-sex "marriage" nationwide.
As we have seen time and time again, liberals are intent on forcing their morality on the rest of society. And because of the advances of the militant homosexual rights movement, polygamists are now going to court to have their alternative lifestyle recognized.
If Obama and the radical left get their way, we will be headed down the road to a culture where marriage will include any grouping of any number of individuals and sexes. In short, marriage will mean nothing and more and more children will grow up with, yes, three mommies.
Rep. West Goes To War
Speaking on the House floor yesterday against the GOP's "Cut, Cap and Balance" bill, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) launched into a personal attack on Rep. Allen West (R-FL). She accused him of betraying his constituents for trying to slash Medicare and Medicaid in order to provide tax breaks to "Big Oil and millionaires."
Wasserman Shultz also happens to be chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee. So her attack on West was a preview of what other conservatives can expect to experience in the days ahead. Yet today there are demands for Rep. West to apologize to Wasserman Schultz!
When West found out about the attack, launched when he was not present to defend himself, he fired off an email accusing Wasserman Schultz of being "vile," "unprofessional" and "despicable," and for not acting like a "lady." Big Media is now in high dudgeon over West's alleged incivility. But they never apply the same standard to lefty "slash and burn" artists like Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
Last month Wasserman Schultz went on an African American TV network and said that Republicans who support voter ID laws to prevent fraud "literally want to drag us all the way back to Jim Crow laws..."
West was the subject of Wasserman Schultz's scorn for the very reason that Clarence Thomas, Walter Williams and other black conservatives are so viciously attacked by liberals: They have dared to declare their freedom from the liberal ideological plantation. The left is terrified by the possibility that more and more black Americans might return to the Party of Lincoln and Reagan.
2012 Update
The latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll finds Mitt Romney leading the GOP race nationally with the support of 30% of registered Republican voters. Michele Bachmann received 16%, and Texas Governor Rick Perry, who is not yet a declared candidate, won the backing of 11% of registered Republicans. No other candidate received double digit support.
Rep. Michele Bachmann is no stranger to controversy and hostile media coverage. As more and more polls find her leading in Iowa and moving up elsewhere, she is coming under increasing scrutiny. This week, news broke that she suffers from "incapacitating" migraines. Some of these reports are clearly designed to undermine her candidacy, and they raise the stakes in what had been a relatively mild campaign.
Here's some good news: According to the latest Rasmussen poll, the percentage of likely voters who support Barack Obama's reelection has fallen to 41%, its lowest level yet. Forty-seven percent of voters said they would support a "generic Republican." My staff is trying to set up a meeting with Generic Republican. Seriously, while there is still a long way to go, it appears more and more Americans have lost hope since 2008 and are looking to make a change in 2012!
It Begins: Top Republicans Push Away From Gang Of Six Plan
As time goes on, and conservative interest groups and members of Congress rip into it, support among Republicans for the Gang of Six plan to reduce deficits will begin to wane. In fact, that's already happening.
In a publicly released memo meant to undermine support for the Gang of Six plan in its current form, House Budget Committee chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI) laments, "it increases revenues while failing to seriously address exploding federal spending on health care, which is the primary driver of our debt. There are also serious concerns that the proposal's substance on spending falls far short of what is needed to achieve the savings it claims."
The new Gang of Six proposal brewing in the Senate is a total sellout which promises to usher in a vast new round of new taxes. Not just closing of loopholes, but real live taxes we will all have to pay.
The proposal is based on the recommendations of the Bowles-Simpson Deficit Reduction Commission as modified by the "Gang of Six" US Senators. It plans to raise $1 trillion in new tax revenues. While the gang is vague on the details of the new taxes, the Bowles-Simpson Commission was quite clear - it proposes the virtual elimination of all tax deductions, certainly for taxpayers with joint incomes of over $200,000 and possibly for everyone. The revenues it would generate from eliminating or sharply curtailing the mortgage interest, charitable, and state and local tax deductions are set to generate $1 trillion of new revenues over ten years and to finance a vague and unspecified hoped for cut in the top tax bracket.
The elimination or significant curtailment of these deductions would have a ruinous economic impact.
Desperate to sell the American people on a yet-to-be-determined plan to raise the debt ceiling, increase taxes, and avoid necessary reforms to rein in government, liberals are turning to an unlikely ally to make their case-former President Ronald Reagan. Their utterly transparent tactic reveals a larger truth: Despite all the rhetoric, liberals have failed to convince America that their way is the best way to move Washington forward.
President Obama will support a bill to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act, which defines marriage as between a man and a woman. The Senate is holding hearings on a repeal of the law this week.
Minnesota's 19-day government shutdown is near an end. The governor and legislature have reached a budget agreement that cuts spending without raising taxes but "relies on one-time accounting tricks. . . to eliminate the state's $5 billion deficit."
Japan's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant has stabilized four months after the earthquake and tsunami that provoked partial meltdowns in the facility. A cold shutdown is expected within six months.
More mandates from Obamacare? A panel advising the Department of Health and Human Services recommends that health insurance plans offer women all forms of approved contraception without charging out-of-pocket fees.
Urge Your U.S. Representative to Support Mandatory Nationwide E-Verify Bill
Thanks to the pressure generated by the great efforts of states like Arizona, Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina to keep illegal aliens out of U.S. jobs, Congress will soon begin debate on a bill to mandate worker verification nationwide. Below is a FREE FAX you can send directly to your U.S. House Representative in support of this legislation.
Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX) has introduced H.R. 2164, The Legal Workforce Act. This bill seeks to effectively end the hiring of all illegal aliens seeking U.S. jobs as it:
Mandates the E-Verify worker verification system for 100% of all U.S. employers within two years;
Requires the Social Security Administration (SSA) to target illegal aliens using fake or stolen social security numbers;
Significantly increases the penalties for employers who fail to use E-Verify and;
Protects states' and localities' authority to revoke business licenses of employers who fail to use E-Verify as required by this Act
With a 99.7% overall effectiveness rate, the E-Verify system presents the best opportunity to remove the jobs magnet which draws illegal aliens to flood the U.S. labor market. This great bill will need more support to become law. Please don't delay. Send this critical message to your U.S. Representative, urging them to support Lamar Smith's Legal Workforce Act. This is a completely free service. There is no cost to you.
Please support H.R. 2164, the Legal Workforce Act, so that jobless Americans and legal immigrants can fill those jobs currently held by illegal workers.
This legislation, in addition to requiring employers to run new hires through the E-Verify system, would gently move illegal aliens out of U.S. jobs. Over time, the 7 million illegal aliens in non-agricultural jobs would be replaced by unemployed Americans and legal immigrants. While not solving America's unemployment problem, H.R. 2164 would certainly lessen its severity.
This legislation is able to coax out these illegal workers by requiring the Social Security Administration to send out "no match" letters to employers if the name and Social Security number of a current employee do not match. The employer is required to run "no match" employees through the E-Verify system to determine if they are eligible to work in the United States. Clearly, this is an easy and effective way of putting unemployed Americans and legal immigrants in jobs currently held by illegal aliens.
Please support H.R. 2164, the Legal Workforce Act, and help Americans get back to work and help employers stay on the right side of the law.

proposed iphone app could resurrect the world trade center twin towers It has been almost 10 years since the attacks of 9/11 took down the World Trade Center's Twin Towers, and while construction of a new building is underway, the skyline has been changed forever. In December 1996, a Florida couple, John and Alice Martin, who sounded suspiciously like union goons, claimed to have inadvertently tapped into a phone conversation between then House Speaker Newt Gingrich and House Republican leadership.
According to these Democratic and union activists, they were just driving around with a police scanner in their car, picked up a random phone conversation and said to themselves, "Wait a minute! I could swear that's Dick Armey's voice!"
Luckily, they also had a tape recorder and cassette in their car, so they proceeded to illegally record the intercepted conversation and then turned the tape over to Democratic Rep. James McDermott - the top Democrat on the Ethics Committee that was at that very moment investigating Gingrich.
Although they swore they had no idea that what they were doing was a crime, in their cover letter to McDermott, they requested immunity - just as you probably do whenever you write somebody a letter. (They later pleaded guilty to a crime under the Electronic Communications Privacy Act.)
McDermott promptly turned the tape over to the New York Times and other newspapers. The Times' headline on the story, "Gingrich Is Heard Urging Tactics in Ethics Case," might as well have been titled: "Tape Shows Gingrich Conspiring to Act Within the Law."
The left and news are all up in arms over the recent response from Allen West to Wasserman-Schultz. What they fail to mention or remember of course is her statements during campaign season last year.
President Obama will bypass Elizabeth Warren to lead the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and instead nominate former Ohio attorney general Richard Cordray to the post.
The White House announcement on Sunday ends months of uncertainty about whether the President would accede to the demands of Warren's steadfast supporters or acquiesce to staunch critics who vowed to block her Senate confirmation. With that matter now settled, public attention-and that of lawmakers, in particular-should focus on fixing the structural flaws that allow the bureau to exercise excessive regulatory powers without adequate accountability.
The President's nomination of Cordray comes just three days before the bureau formally launches. But until he or another nominee is actually confirmed, the CFPB is statutorily barred from imposing new regulations. That does not mean the bureau is impotent, however. With hundreds of staff already in place and a budget of $500 million, the CFPB is busily compiling dossiers on most every type of financial firm and preparing enforcement actions under existing laws.
Delise Williams, the wife of Fox News contributor Juan Williams, tells Newsmax that "so-called liberals" at NPR treated her - a light-skinned African-American - as if she didn't exist.
"The NPR people were hypocrites because they are supposed to be the liberals who are accepting of all kinds of people and inclusive, and they were the most exclusive group in my experience of going to events related to work that I have ever seen," says Delise, a former social worker who is the daughter of a doctor.
Juan Williams' book "Muzzled: The Assault on Honest Debate" hits bookstores next week. It reveals that for years before NPR fired him, NPR executives harassed him over what he did or did not say on the air.

Editorial Exegesis
Hint: The answer isn't higher taxes
"[On Friday] the previously press conference-averse president had his third news conference in two weeks to once again make his pitch for a 'big package' to close the federal deficit, to which he has already managed to add $4 trillion. His solution remains what it has always been -- taxes. But then you knew that. Or did you? 'You have 80 percent of the American people who support a balanced approach,' Obama said [Friday]. 'Eighty percent of the American people support an approach that includes revenues and includes cuts. So the notion that somehow the American people aren't sold is not the problem. The problem is members of Congress are dug in ideologically.' ... But if that wasn't working for you, Obama offered Plan B -- the notion that should there actually be a government default because the debt ceiling has not been raised then that would be 'effectively a tax increase for everybody' as interest rates rise. Well, true, but plans are proceeding apace for a real Plan B that would allow incremental increases in the debt ceiling absent a grand bargain. But wait, as they say in those infomercials, there's more. Yes, the president would surely not call a news conference and not bring out -- again -- the doomsday rhetoric. He just can't seem to help himself these days, although this was at least in the context of some faint praise for the so-called McConnell plan. 'It is constructive to say that if Washington operates as usual and can't get something done let's at least avert Armageddon,' the president said. Another day, another Armageddon reference. Perhaps it's time the president reread that fable about the boy who cried 'wolf' too often." --Boston Herald

"No one thinks the federal government is spending too little money. The problem is, most of us think the government is spending too much money on programs which benefit someone else. ... I was listening to the all-news station on my way to the office and I was subjected to ad after ad from group after group telling me, in the most heart-wrenching terms, why the government must not cut funds from its program. Cut someone else. Every dollar of the $3.7 trillion dollars that the Federal government is scheduled to spend before September 30, 2011 has got a patron -- someone who believes that dollar is not just a good and necessary expenditure; but better and more crucial than any other of the dollars the government is scheduled to spend. Cut someone else. They all can't be the most important. Some of those dollars have to be less important than some of the other dollars. ... Well, boys and girls, the days of pretending we can have as much we want and for it we can pay as little as we want are over." --political analyst Rich Galen

"The same politicians who spent $1.7 trillion more than they collected, in just this year alone, say the problem is that private citizens are not paying enough. ... [B]ecause the political class has made the national debt so high, it is able to insist that taking a chance on the power of liberty is an irresponsible gamble. Because the government lives so far beyond its means, it would be irresponsible to provide it with reduced means. This is how we have reached the madness of a moment when the national debt is used as an argument against spending reductions, or growth-oriented tax and regulatory policies. The insane problem becomes a weapon against rational solutions." --columnist John Hayward
"Forget all the numbers being tossed around in Washington -- the millions and billions and trillions of dollars being taxed, borrowed, printed and spent as the country approaches the Aug. 2 debt-ceiling deadline. ... Forget the fact that such 'entitlements' as Social Security and Medicare -- social-insurance programs that the public long thought to be actuarially sound -- have been exposed as little more than legal Ponzi schemes, paying today's benefits out of tomorrow's borrowed receipts. Instead, just ask yourself this simple question: When did it become the primary function of the federal government to send millions of Americans checks? For this, in essence, is what the debt-ceiling fight is all about -- the inexorable and ultimately fatal growth of the welfare state." --columnist Michael Walsh
"Obama objects to the fact that owners of corporate jets can write off the cost of their purchases over five years instead of the seven required for commercial aircraft. ... The whole point of Obama's rants against corporate jets, of course, is to shame Republicans into going along with tax increases by portraying them as fat cats' lapdogs, salivating at the thought of balancing the budget on the backs of uneducated, untreated food-poisoning victims who don't even know whether the sun will come out tomorrow because the government can't afford to pay for meteorologists anymore." --columnist Jacob Sullum

Unbelievable chutzpah: "We don't need a constitutional amendment to do our jobs. The Constitution already tells us to do our jobs -- and to make sure that the government is living within its means and making responsible choices. ... We don't need a balanced budget amendment. We simply need to make these tough choices and be willing to take on our bases. And everybody knows it. ... It turns out that our problem is we cut taxes without paying for them over the last decade; we ended up instituting new programs like a prescription drug program for seniors that was not paid for; we fought two wars, we didn't pay for them; we had a bad recession that required a Recovery Act and stimulus spending and helping states -- and all that accumulated and there's interest on top of that." --Barack Obama, who blames Bush for even Obama's big spending

And the Tea Party has stopped that kind of transformation from occurring because it has hijacked the Republican Party and the John Boehners of the world who would have cut a deal with the president of the United States. But this isn't something that just happened, it's the culmination of a process that has been going on for decades. Village Idiots
Belly laugh of the week: "The president doesn't have a vote in this. It's Congress that has to act. The president didn't stand up here yesterday and say, hey, show you a lot of charts and graphs about how previous Congresses under a Republican president accumulated enormous amounts of deficits and debt and that this is what they needed to vote to deal with and it wasn't his problem. He didn't say that because he doesn't believe that. He believes it's his responsibility as the president of the United States to lead, to work with Congress, to resolve these issues together for the American people." --White House Press Secretary Jay Carney
Where to start? "Isn't the Tea Party -- I'm not trying to call them names or anything. I just want to ask a very serious question: Aren't they exactly what the Founding Fathers feared most? Which is people who are ignorant about the way the world works come to power. That is what the Founding Fathers hated the most. They were not for direct democracy" --HBO's Bill Maher (Sam Adams, a Founding Father, participated in the first Tea Party, objecting to high taxes. In a better world, it would be 'What I Learned in Prison Serving Time for Treason.'" --columnist Arnold Ahlert
"Meanwhile, the World's Greatest Orator bemoans the 'intransigence' of Republicans. OK, what's your plan? Give us one actual program you're willing to cut, right now. Oh, don't worry, says Barack Obluffer. To demonstrate how serious he is, he's offered to put on the table for fiscal year 2012 spending cuts of (stand well back now) $2 billion. That would be a lot in, say, Iceland or even Australia. Once upon a time it would have been a lot even in Washington. But today $2 billion is what the Brokest Nation in History borrows every 10 hours. In other words, in less time than he spends sitting across the table negotiating his $2 billion cut, he's already borrowed it all back. Birth control coverage proposed for most health insurance plans
HHS: Birth control must be free
Virtually all health insurance plans could soon be required to offer female patients free coverage of prescription birth control, breast-pump rentals, counseling for domestic violence, and annual wellness exams and HIV tests as a result of recommendations released Tuesday by an independent advisory panel of health experts.
The health-care law adopted last year directed the Obama administration to draw up a list of preventive services for women that all new health plans must cover without deductibles or co-payments. While the guidelines suggested Tuesday by a committee of the National Academy of Sciences' Institute of Medicine are not binding, the panel conducted its year-long review at the request of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.
Allen West tirade: Wasserman Schultz 'vile...despicable...not a Lady'
West breathes fire
Florida GOP Congressman Allen West this afternoon dispatched a scathing personal email to Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, calling her "vile, unprofessional ,and despicable," "a coward," "characterless," and "not a Lady," and demanding that she "shut the heck up."
Wasserman Schultz, in whose neighboring South Florida district West lives, provoked his tirade with remarks after he left the House floor today, in which she responded -- without naming him -- to the Tea Party freshman's support for "Cut, Cap, and Balance" legislation to raise the debt ceiling.
Defying a veto threat, the Republican-controlled House voted Tuesday night to slice federal spending by $6 trillion and require a constitutional balanced budget amendment to be sent to the states in exchange for averting a threatened Aug. 2 government default.
The 234-190 vote marked the power of deeply conservative first-term Republicans, and it stood in contrast to calls at the White House and in the Senate for a late stab at bipartisanship to solve the nation's looming debt crisis.
UAW chief to push for bigger profit-sharing checks
UAW wants more
If the United Auto Workers union agrees to profit-sharing instead of pay raises from Detroit's automakers, the companies will have to write bigger checks than they now, the union's president said Tuesday.
In an interview with The Associated Press, President Bob King said profit-sharing or other flexible methods of compensation will be discussed when the union formally begins contract talks with General Motors Co., Chrysler Group LLC and Ford Motor Co., next week.
President Obama has laid out the most ambitious and expensive domestic agenda since LBJ, and now all he has to do is figure out how to pay for it. On Tuesday, he left the impression that we need merely end "tax breaks for the wealthiest 2% of Americans," and he promised that households earning less than $250,000 won't see their taxes increased by "one single dime."
This is going to be some trick. Even the most basic inspection of the IRS income tax statistics shows that raising taxes on the salaries, dividends and capital gains of those making more than $250,000 can't possibly raise enough revenue to fund Mr. Obama's new spending ambitions.
Sen. DeMint says "Supporting McConnell plan is 'suicidal'
For Republicans to cave after what happened with the Continuing Resolution, I think you'd see a deterioration of base of support, and a lot of third party activity. I'm afraid this is make or break time for Republicans." While the back-up option is gaining traction, DeMint warned it could be the undoing of the Grand Old Party. "It'd be suicidal for Republicans in the House to vote for it. Forgive me for being cynical, but it was pretty apparent to me that this was never a good faith effort." Senate group offers $3.75 trillion deficit cuts
A bipartisan group of U.S. senators revived a budget plan that could provide new ideas for breaking the impasse over raising the nation's credit limit. President Barack Obama is supporting this proposal by the "Gang of Six". The plan proposes $3.75 trillion in savings over 10 years and contains $1.2 trillion in revenues. It includes $500 billion in immediate cuts, cuts security and non-security spending over 10 years with spending caps, make the Medicare and Medicaid healthcare programs operate more efficiently and abolish the Alternative Minimum Tax. While there are $1.2 trillion in revenues, the plan envisions a $1.5 trillion tax cut that would be achieved through broad tax reforms. Tea Party members in the House have vowed to block revenue increases. The plan would achieve savings in healthcare programs. The specific cuts would be decided later by congressional committees. It would also reform the Social Security retirement program. Revenue proposals are not likely to include income tax rate increases. They could center on repealing special tax favors such as for ethanol blenders and corporate jets, and preferential tax treatment for fund managers. Those specific decisions likely would be up to House and Senate tax-writing committees, along with broader tax reform questions. [Reuters, July 19] Click here for the complete source story

"We Will Default
Because The Debt Is Unsustainable"
"When a country is indebted to the degree that we're indebted, the country always defaults. We will default because the debt is unsustainable," Rep. Ron Paul said on the House floor. "If we don't understand this, this default will not be because we don't send out the checks. We will send out the checks. *VIDEO* Marco Rubio on America's debt ceiling
In an interview by Ginni Thomas, Senator Rubio said he wants to simplify the U.S. tax code, reform America's regulatory system, and pass both a balanced-budget amendment and a spending cap for the federal government. "I've always said that the debt limit is not just about the debt limit, it is a golden opportunity to deal with perhaps the most serious crisis of our time, and that is a government that is spending money we do not have at an alarming rate and in a way that threatens our viability economically as a nation." "The most catastrophic thing that can happen to our country is for Congress to go in and to raise the debt limit without any meaningful reforms whatsoevert, the message that will send to global lending markets and the world economy about America will be disastrous."
