Stand Against Ground Zero Mosque, and Durban III, Stand for America

NEW YORK, July 6: The human rights organization American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) will be hosting its second annual 9/11 Freedom Rally on September 11 at 3pm at Park Place and West Broadway.

Free citizens are coming from all over the U.S. to attend the rally. "It is crucial to stand for freedom on this tenth anniversary of the heinous 9/11 jihad attacks," said AFDI Executive Director Pamela Geller. "We must show the jihadists we are unbowed in the defense of freedom."

AFDI and its Stop Islamization of America (SIOA) program are encouraging all Americans to stand against the Islamic supremacist mega-mosque at Ground Zero and the anti-Semitic Durban III conference that will be held in New York City at the same time, and for American values on the tenth anniversary of the worst attack ever on American soil.

Jim Moran has been the center of fireworks before. You may remember that in April the Democratic congressman from Virginia got in a shouting match with an alleged veteran at a town hall meeting, telling the man to "sit down" after he asked a question Moran didn't like.

So the fact that during an interview last week Moran ripped off his mic and walked off the set of an interview after admitting he approves of redistribution of wealth seems to fit with the Rep's fiery attitude.

1. The Rise of the Third Party

I have long criticized the calls of many disaffected conservatives for a third party and I maintain that position. The closest I have come to calling for a third party is to encourage tea party activists to take over the GOP from within.

External third parties are not, in my mind, a solution to anything, but a great enabler of Democrats.

Notwithstanding my opinion, I believe the GOP, should it adopt Mitch McConnell's Pontius Pilate Act, will be sowing the seeds of its own destruction.

2. Why Is John Boehner Letting House Republicans Be Mitch McConnell's Toy?

Here is what is going to happen unless House Republicans stage an immediate revolt against their own House leadership.

Mitch McConnell, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi are going to win. They have managed to cut the legs out from under John Boehner and the House Republicans. In fact, the House Republicans have taken on all the appearances of Mitch McConnell's basement gimp.

I'm not sure why we need them any more if the McConnell-Reid-Pelosi Pontius Pilate Act passes.

See, John Boehner ceded authority to Mitch McConnell. Instead of embracing the conservative "Cut, Cap, and Balance" plan or even pushing forward with Paul Ryan's plan as an alternative, Boehner let McConnell move forward and cut Boehner's legs out from under him. It was a willing sacrifice on Boehner's part because he'd rather be legless than fight.

Now here is what Boehner and McConnell have agreed to do.

At the start of next week, House Republicans will vote on their cut, cap, and balance plan.

Because of leadership undermining it behind the scenes, it will be lucky to get 218 votes. And if it gets 218 votes, it will get to the Senate and Mitch McConnell will declare his support for it while letting Harry Reid deny it a vote. Of, better yet, they'll vote for it. It won't get 51 votes.

And then Mitch McConnell and John Boehner will say as they are already starting to say in the press, "Well, we just couldn't get it through. Time to go with the Pontius Pilate Act." There will be no fight. There will be no holding the line. The votes will come fast to avoid getting any last minute momentum. It will all be so Congressional Republican Leaders will say, "Well,

3. The McConnell "deal" sells out conservative principles

I don't want to repeat a lot of the great points that Erick has made already about the McConnell "contingency deal." The proposal is a dereliction of duty and everything that we all hate about Washington. It punts responsibility at exactly the point when Republicans want Americans to give them more. The Club for Growth has announced that we oppose the McConnell-Reid-Pelosi deal and we'll be Key Voting against it for multiple reasons.

This is a critical moment in the debate over the debt ceiling. I can tell you now that any Republican who votes to give President Obama MORE power, allowing him to RAISE the debt ceiling WITHOUT guaranteed spending cuts and a Balanced Budget Amendment ...well, I can tell you that voting to do so is selling out. It means you put politics before principle. It means you put elections before doing what's right. It means you care more about protecting your job than saving America.

Senator McConnell and the rest of the Republicans in the Senate and in the House need to hear it from the Tea Party movement. They need to hear it from the grassroots. Erick has written on here many times for Republicans to "hold the freaking line." I couldn't agree more.

4. Why McConnell's Plan Is Bad for America

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's politically motivated plan to raise the debt limit "does nothing for the good of the country," according to The Heritage Foundation's David S. Addington, who outlined the think tank's concerns on The Foundry this afternoon.

"The McConnell Plan would put America deeper into debt and achieves nothing toward the vitally important objective of getting federal overspending and overborrowing under control," wrote Addington, who served as chief of staff and counsel to Vice President Dick Cheney before joining Heritage.

5. AFSCME: The Big Green Dog Behind Big Government & Higher Taxes

Across the nation, states, counties, and municipalities are facing a fiscal calamity. Even before the 2008 economic meltdown, many states were facing a sea of red ink due to over-promising, poor fiscal planning, and too much political influence from government union bosses. Now, as politicians of both parties grapple with the mess created by years of passing the buck, they are faced with taxpayers revolting on the right, businesses fleeing union-dominated states and radicalized government unions on the left.

6. Politifact's Review of Josh Trevino: Mostly Hackery

RedState Co-Founder appeared on MSNBC last night discussing, inter alia, the debt ceiling, and liberals are in a tizzy. Some of them apparently contacted the liberal hack artists at Politifact (who have still got about 5 people on earth convinced that they are a neutral fact checker) to take a run at Josh's claims about polling on the deficit. The clip of Josh's performance is here.

By way of reminder, Politifact's long history of liberal hackery has been discussed ad nauseam, including this absurd piece in which liberal gasbag Gary Trudeau was declared correct despite equating terrorism with homicides, legal shootings, and accidents, not to mention this ridiculous hit job on Rob Portman, among many other clearly politically motivated "fact checks."

7. Dr. Steven Chu and 'Common Sense'

Energy Secretary and Nobel Laureate Dr. Steven Chu defends the banning of conventional incandescent light bulbs as a 'common-sense' measure that is certainly a 'win-win' for consumers. (Caution: Clicking HuffPo links may cause a loss of IQ points.)

Time to invite your liberal friends 'round for another barbecue.

Why? To celebrate the day when the lives of hundreds of thousands of young American and Allied servicemen were saved thanks to President Truman's fine, principled decision to drop the atom bomb on Hiroshima. Serve Kamikaze cocktails (natch): equal parts Vodka, Triple Sec, and lime juice. 

Destroy a liberal's argument by exposing the underlying rhetorical cheat.

Argumentum ad hominem. "Ad homs"-as they're colloquially known-are one of Johnny Libtard's favorite debating weapons, as in Michael Moore's rant: "I would like to apologize for referring to George W. Bush as a deserter. What I meant to say is that George W. Bush is a deserter, an election thief, a drunk driver, a WMD liar, and a functional illiterate. And he poops his pants."

Liberals like ad homs because, unlike you, they have neither logic nor facts on their side and must therefore resort to personal insults which are the last refuge of a scoundrel. Explain this to a liberal friend-and then call him a stupid libtard. When he accuses you of using argumentum ad hominem say: "Hey, I never said ad homs weren't allowed. All I said was that it's kind of tragic when you're so desperate that they're pretty much the only rhetorical weapon you've got." 

Never speak of "Affirmative Action"-only of "Reverse Discrimination."

Elaborate by saying how angry it makes you that talented blacks, Mexican-Americans, and others who secured their jobs and their college places purely on their own merit will forever be looked on with suspicion and resentment as having gotten there purely because of the color of their skin (or other minority-qualifying attributes).

Another Obama Failure

There was a shocking admission from a top Defense official yesterday that major defense industry computer networks suffered an extensive cyberattack in March, resulting in one of the "largest losses ever of sensitive data." According to Deputy Secretary of Defense William Lynn, 24,000 files were stolen during this single attack.

Lynn also said that the Pentagon believes the attack was launched by a "foreign intelligence service." Cyberattacks have been on the rise in recent years. But to give you some idea of the magnitude of the March assault, consider this: The Pentagon declared in May that it considered cyberattacks to be acts of war which may justify a military response. Top officials believe they know the country responsible, but won't say which one.

Think about this for a moment: While Obama has been busy taking over the auto industry, the student loan industry, the healthcare industry, overregulating the financial industry, shutting down the energy industry and trying to raise taxes, our national security may have been severely compromised. But the defense of this nation is the government's first responsibility, its most important duty.

The loss of data, of sensitive intelligence, could be catastrophic. This scandal should have the country outraged. But how many of you heard about this on the evening news?

The Media War

I am often asked by frustrated conservatives, "Why aren't Republicans in Congress fighting harder? Why don't they hold hearings or press conferences? I never hear from them!"

Their frustration is valid because most folks frequently don't hear from congressional Republicans. That said, their frustration is misplaced. Let me explain.

This morning, House Republican leaders held a press conference to lay out their position in the debt ceiling debate. I listened to Speaker Boehner making an excellent case for cutting spending and explaining the GOP's "Cut, Cap and Balance" proposal, which the House will vote on next week, to cut spending, cap spending and enact a balanced budget amendment.

Just as Boehner finished speaking and other House leaders were about to speak, CNBC cut off its coverage, and commentators started noting how the market was falling as Boehner's talked. Intentional or not, the implication was that Republicans were tanking the market. I flipped to CNN - nothing. MSNBC - nothing. Only Fox was carrying the rest of the GOP press conference live.

Later this morning, President Obama came on. Every network carried his remarks live and until the bitter end. (And, yes, it was bitter.) His remarks were full of class warfare, half-truths and verbal gymnastics designed to make him appear reasonable.

For example, the president said today that 80% of the American people support tax increases, and that Republicans are just playing politics and ignoring the vast majority of the country that is clamoring for tax hikes.

If the American people are "sold" on the idea of tax hikes, why did his budget, which included massive tax increases, fail 0-to-97 in the Senate? Why should Republicans pass his tax hikes when Obama's own party wouldn't even support them?

Obama's 80% figure is a gross distortion. According to this Rasmussen poll, 55% of likely voters oppose tax increases in the debt limit deal, while just 34% say tax hikes should be part of the deal. But members of the media let Obama get away with this outrageous statement today.

Let me give you another example. How many of you heard that Barack Obama shattered all fundraising records with his $86 million haul? That is an impressive figure. It's also a gross exaggeration - about half of that money went to the Democrat National Committee, not the Obama campaign. But almost every media outlet reported the combined figure as Obama's own. It was either bad journalism or an intentional effort to demoralize conservatives. I'll let you decide which one.

Here's the bottom line: Unless people are routinely watching Fox News, they are not going to hear from Republicans. But they will hear Obama. Unless they are reading this daily report or other conservative material, they likely won't recognize Obama's distortions and half-truths for what they are, and every bit of commentary will be filtered through the media's left-wing lens.

That is why it so important for you to share these messages with friends and family members. Don't waste your time with die-hard liberals. But if you know folks who are on the fence, who may be having second thoughts about Obama, please take the time to engage them with the facts we bring you. If every conservative could persuade just one Obama voter that there is a better choice, we would win in a landslide!

The Culture War

A group of atheists is going to federal court to stop a major prayer event from taking place next month. As we reported several weeks ago, Texas Gov. Rick Perry has invited the nation's governors to join him on August 6th for a day of prayer and fasting for our nation.

But to the radicals at the Freedom From Religion Foundation, the event is not only unconstitutional, but also "ineffectual," "harmful" and "counterproductive." They want it stopped. And if the event is not stopped, they are seeking a restraining order to prevent Perry from participating. Unbelievable!

Here's something else that is unbelievable. Yesterday California Governor Jerry Brown signed legislation mandating the teaching of "gay history" in California's public schools. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the new law will "affect kindergarten through high school curriculum."

Worse, it won't be limited to California. As the paper notes, "The provision on [homosexual] inclusion in textbooks could reach beyond California, too, as many book publishers tailor their texts to California's standards because of the state's large population."

In other words, because textbook manufacturers can't make 50 different editions, they accommodate the biggest state. Kids in Kalamazoo, Michigan, are probably using textbooks written for California.

Once upon a time, liberals used to scoff at warnings from conservatives about a "gay agenda." After all, they insisted, it doesn't matter what two consenting adults do in the privacy of their bedroom. So why are kindergarteners now being taught about homosexuality?

Most Americans are tolerant people. But the problem with the militant homosexual movement is that it is taking its radical demands out of the bedroom and into the public square. It is going beyond privacy to mandating what is taught in the public schools and demanding a radical redefinition of marriage and the family. The radical homosexual rights movement, which claims to be about personal freedom, equates common sense with bigotry and is threatening religious liberty.

Can Israel Be A "Jewish State?"

Negotiations between Israel and the PLO have been stalled for many reasons, but a central issue is the Palestinian refusal to acknowledge Israel as a "Jewish state."

The whole idea behind the partition of the Palestine Mandate in 1947 was, in the words of U.N. General Assembly resolution 181, the creation of an "Arab state" and a "Jewish state." The Arab rejection of Israel as a Jewish state is in fact at the heart of the Middle East conflict. It is based on the widespread refusal to accept Israel as a permanent presence in the region, but is usually couched in more acceptable terminology-indeed, the language of "rights." As one news story put it, "Palestinian negotiators have recognized Israel's right to exist, but not as a Jewish state, which officials say would prejudice the right of return for refugees and violate the rights of Israel's non-Jewish residents."

I am writing to raise to your attention a SERIOUS threat to our country and the stability of our financial markets that the current administration is not addressing.


THE RISK:

With the ending of Quantitative Easing II (aka QEII) on June 30, 2011, the US Treasury will be looking for replacement buyers to buy US Treasury bonds and notes that the Federal Reserve was formerly purchasing. The world's largest bond fund manager US based PIMCO led by Bill Gross (with $1.3 trillion under management) has been shorting US Treasurys since the 2nd Quarter of 2011. Mr. Gross has let it be known that he wants to force haircuts in the price of US Treasurys...which could also translate into a failed treasury auction that could "force the hand" of the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates unexpectedly and/or dramatically. The financial impact of a failed treasury auction in view of Mr. Obama throwing around the word "default", the lack of a budget deal, and the S&P putting our national debt on a downgrade watch are a VERY SERIOUS threat to the stability of our financial markets.

Who else is shorting US Treasurys? No surprise...The Quantum Fund founded by George Soros is also shorting US Treasurys.

I have spoken with other financial officers (CFOs, Treasurers, economists, Investment Managers) and no one is calling PIMCO out and identifying this risk to our nation. Where is the SEC?

In 2009 the UK had a gilt auction failure (93% coverage) which forced interest rates up and put the economy and UK budget on shaky ground. Was this a test run? Next the USA?

Recall that it was US Treasury Secretary Giethner that stood back and allowed Lehman Bros to fail setting up our current financial troubles. Now he is part of the financial triangle in place - US Treasury, Federal Reserve and bond buyers PIMCO - who can sink a Treasury auction.

The consequences could be devastating: hyper inflation and escalating interest rates. Bill Gross knows these risks. So does George Soros. Dealing with this kind of market event - after the fact - could not possibly repair the damage done.

The seriousness of this issue led to my meeting with Congressman Pitts office earlier this week. Mr. Pitts Financial Services Staff took this matter very seriously and referred the issue onto the Joint Financial Services Committee Staff. To continue to move the ball down the road and gain the full attention of the Joint Financial Services Committee (Congressmen and Senators) I am building a coalition of interested parties.

As a leader of an important grassroots organization I am reaching out to you for support on this issue. Together we can encourage the members of the Joint Financial Services Committee of the US Congress to address this issue and put public eyes on the US Treasury and the Federal Reserve.

The "George Soros et al" types like to operate under the guise of plausible deniability and they also do not like to be found out. They think they are so slick. They think we are not watching like sheep being led to slaughter. They are banking on the fact that most people do not understand the financial markets. Bill Gross may be within his legal rights to short treasuries...but there is a bigger picture here and WE can see it!

And in a free society we are within our rights to speak up and share our thoughts as well.

As retiring Defense Secretary Robert Gates in his recent (and since it was also his LAST speech it was very telling) commencement address to the United States Naval Academy said..."speak truth to power" and his voice broke when he spoke to the midshipmen about his parting from his role as Secretary of Defense because he "always treated the men and women in his service as he would his own children." This was a broken hearted man and civil servant I was listening to. He and the former US general in charge of US operations in Afghanistan (post the Rolling Stones episode) know what's up...and they are asking us to READ BETWEEN THE LINES.

I agree "speak truth to power". Let your voice be heard. Don't take this sitting down.

National Gun Ban Referendum

Representatives and lobbyists from the biggest anti-gun powerhouse of them all - The Brady Campaign - are working behind the scenes to pass stricter gun laws in every state.

The Brady Campaign wants background checks to be required for all private and licensed dealers. That means - if you want to sell your friend a gun they will have to submit to an extensive background check.

There's more! The Brady Campaign wants more punitive laws against law-abiding gun owners! Some of these laws include assault and battery with a firearm and assault with a firearm. So there you have it - you can be charged with a crime for using a gun to defend yourself!

WE MUST STOP THE BRADY CAMPAIGN - BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE AND OUR GUN RIGHTS ARE DESTROYED FOREVER. I urge you to take action and fill out the electronic OFFICIAL BALLOT - right away!

Writing in his blog about his meeting with the Obama administration officials a few weeks ago, Paul Helmke (President of the Brady Campaign) revealed the radical group's plans. Helmke said he is going to, "increase the number and type of military-style weapons, including 'assault clips,' that should not be readily available to civilians..."

Don't let the Brady Campaign fool you. Their plans aren't merely a wish list. They are a list of things they will accomplish - plain and simple. That is, unless you and thousands of other patriotic Americans fill out the OFFICIAL BALLOT .

The Brady Campaign isn't just another extreme Leftist organization. They have a long history of passing laws that snatch away your right to defend yourself and your family members. The Brady Campaign was responsible for the original assault weapon ban and they support OUTRIGHT GUN CONFISCATION.

To make matters worse, the Brady Campaign isn't the only group planning an attack on your gun rights. Hundreds of other Liberal anti-gun groups are working together to make sure the rights our Founding Fathers gave us disappear.

You see, anti-gun media like the Brady Campaign are spreading the gun grabbers "big lie" that the NRA and other pro-gun groups don't really speak for gun owners. 1. A ban on any "non-sporting use" firearm.
2. Granting the Secretary of the Treasury the right to ban certain guns.
3. A new longer waiting period to buy a gun...any gun.
4. A ban on purchasing more than one gun a year.
5. A ban on all semi-automatic firearms.

The gun grabbers claim that these anti-gun and other gun ban proposals have your support as a gun owner. Frankly, as a gun owner, myself, I don't believe it for a second. They're putting LIES IN YOUR MOUTH AND GETTING AWAY WITH IT.

But lawmakers in Washington will believe their LIES. Law enforcement officials will believe their LIES. And the media will believe their LIES.

These blatant misrepresentations are only the beginning of a systematic and calculated assault on your right to keep and bear arms.

Please help me stop the lies and fill out your OFFICIAL BALLOT as soon as possible.

You would think during these frightening times, the gun grabbers would back off. After all, we are fighting a war in the Middle East, our economy has flat-lined and oil prices are exploding. Thousands of Phone Calls Keep Immigration on the Front Burner in Congress

We asked you to make a lot of phone calls to House Leadership and Members of the House Judiciary Committee this week, and you responded in huge numbers, keeping immigration issues alive and well on the minds of Congress.

The calls to the House Judiciary Committee were in support of passage for clean passage of Rep. Bob Goodlatte's bill (H.R. 704) to end the Visa Lottery. The committee marked up three bills on Thursday morning, but was called back to the main chamber for votes before it was able to get to Rep. Goodlatte's bill. It should be back on the calendar for markup next week, and as soon as we know the details, Roy will be asking for your calls again.

We also asked you to urge House Leadership to bring Rep. Lamar Smith's mandatory E-Verify bill to the floor for a vote before the August recess, and you had the phones ringing off the hook. On Monday, you brought the Capitol switchboard to its knees, causing many to receive busy signals throughout the afternoon. In the district offices, there were reports of more than 50 calls an hour to House Leadership.

Again, thank you for your efforts. We may not be able to get Chairman Smith's E-Verify bill to the floor before the August recess, but you sent Leadership a strong message that we're not going away until there's a vote on H.R. 2164. 

MORE E-VERIFY COSPONSORS: Cosponsors to Chairman Smith's bill continue to add up. This week, 7 more Members cosponsored the bill, bringing the sponsorship list to 38. Check your Action Board for faxes that urge your Members of Congress to cosponsor both Rep. Smith's and Sen. Grassley's E-Verify bills.

BILL TO HALT AMNESTIES: This week, Chairman Smith introduced another piece of legislation that would prevent "backdoor" administrative amnesties .

The Hinder the Administration's Legalization Temptation (HALT) Act would prevent the Administration from using deferred action or parole to set free illegal aliens detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Current federal law allows the executive branch to issue deferred action or parole to illegal aliens on a case-by-case basis, but the HALT Act would prevent the Administration from issuing these "backdoor" amnesties on a massive level.

Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) will introduced the same bill in the Senate. Rep. Smith's bill has 22 cosponsors.

I would think, by now, it should be clear to the entire planet that the Certificate of Live Birth presented by Barack Obama as his own at a press conference on April 27, 2011, is a forgery.

The evidence of forgery in that Certificate of Live Birth has been documented in detail by Doug Vogt and has been submitted to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

There is, therefore, evidence of an ongoing felony.

There is also little doubt in my mind that members of Congress are fully aware of it.

"Misprision of felony" is still an offense under United States federal law 18 U.S.C. § 4:

"Whoever, having knowledge of the actual commission of a felony cognizable by a court of the United States, conceals and does not as soon as possible make known the same to some judge or other person in civil or military authority under the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both."
