Last Friday, with no fanfare, no press coverage, and with every effort made to hide his actions from the American people, President Obama enacted the DREAM Act by executive order.

 

Opposed by a majority of the American people and twice defeated in Congress, the DREAM Act grants amnesty to any illegal alien  residing in the United States if s/he agrees to enlist in the U.S. military or enter college.

Everyone is using the hostage metaphor these days regarding the debt ceiling. Barack Obama started it back in December when he called the GOP hostage takers before the GOP gave him everything he wanted.

Well, I hope the GOP noticed Barack Obama yesterday upped the ante and declared his willingness to shoot his hostages, i.e. senior citizens. Yes, if the GOP dares to hold the line on spending cuts, Barack Obama will balk, the debt limit will not be raised, and Obama will refuse to pay senior citizens.

On Sunday, May 15, 2011, The United West "Strike Team" attended a Sheriff Baca Town Hall

meeting at the Islamic Center of Los Angeles. Yes, you read that correctly, THE... Islamic Center of

Los Angeles. This is the same one that was founded by a protege' of Hassan al Banna.

Who is Hassan al Banna, you may ask? Well...he started a little Egyptian "boy scout" club called

al-Ihwan al-Muslimun - the MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD.

Our mission objective was to confront these

law enforcement agencies with three questions:

1. Does the Muslim Brotherhood exist in Los Angeles County?

2. If so, what are you doing to protect your citizens from the Brotherhood?

3. Who is paying for all your Muslim Community Outreach programs?

As you will see in this report, no official wants to take responsibility for where the money is coming from and how it is spent. So far our investigation has raised more questions than provided answers. It looks more and more like the LA Sheriff Department is using tax dollars, possible federal tax dollars, to favor one religion, Islam, over ALL the other religions in Los Angeles county

On Sunday, May 15, 2011 the Islamic Center of Southern California (ICSC) hosted a Community Town Hall Meeting led by the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC).

The LA County Sheriff's Emergency Operations Bureau - Muslim Community Affairs Unit (MCAU),  a taxpayer funded entity, was the presenting agency. The MCAU's mission is:  "build a stronger relationship with the Muslim community to build cooperation with law enforcement."

Muslim is not a race.  Muslims are  merely followers of Shariah Islam.  The MCAU is a taxpayer funded religious group operating inside the Los Angeles Sheriffs Department at the behest of Sheriff Leroy Baca.  Civil Rights Lawyer's may argue the MCAU violates the Establishment Clause mandate of government neutrality toward religion.

Steve Whitmore,  LASD Senior Media Advisor, confirmed the Muslim Community Affairs Unit receives taxpayer funds approximating $128,400 per year for two full time Deputies.  When this reporter asked Mr. Whitmore if any other , religions,  had a LASD Community Affairs Unit and received equal taxpayer funds,  Whitmore replied, "There are no other religious Community Affairs Units in the Los Angeles Sheriffs Department."

Lights Out for the Light Bulb Ban?

Some politicians in Washington don't think you're all that bright. They believe that you can't make wise decisions in your day-to-day life, so they have taken it upon themselves to impose regulations to protect you from yourself. And there's no better example than Congress' ban on the incandescent light bulb, which is up for repeal in the House today.

The 2007 law is set to phase-out Thomas Edison's brainchild bulbs in 2012 and replace them with costlier but more energy-efficient alternatives, the most popular being compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs). Since then, the impending restrictions have become a hallmark of Nanny State overreach, provoking backlash across the country. State representatives in South Carolina went so far as to try to circumvent Congress and push for the state to produce and use incandescents solely for its own use. And just last week, U.S. Representatives Joe Barton (R-TX), Michael Burgess (R-TX) and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) introduced a bill in Congress to put an end to the bulb ban.

Is the Debt Ceiling Unconstitutional?
 

With the August deadline for the debt ceiling looming, several U.S. Senators think we should ignore it altogether. Since the Fourteenth Amendment says the debt shall not be questioned, they contend, the President may continue to borrow money to meet the nation's financial obligations, even if Congress does not extend the debt ceiling.

Though it is commendable that the Left has dusted off their pocket Constitutions, they should take another look at Article I. As Andrew Grossman explains, the Constitution clearly empowers Congress-and Congress alone-to borrow money on the credit of the United States.

The Borrowing Clause of the Constitution vests Congress with the power "to borrow money on the credit of the United States." The Framers agreed that Congress may borrow on the credit of the United Sates for particular circumstances (to meet an emergency such as sudden war). But it would not be permissible for any branch other than Congress to do so. Unilateral action by the President to borrow money would be an unconstitutional usurpation of the legislative power.

Contrary to what some Senators claim, section four of the Fourteenth Amendment does not give the President power to usurp Congress's power. Section four states: "The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law . . . shall not be questioned." The clause distinguishes between the debt of the United States and that of the Confederacy. The former shall be honored and paid; the latter ignored. It does not follow that a debt ceiling is unconstitutional.

The Fourteenth Amendment does not specify how to pay the debt. Congress may, for example, raise taxes, cut spending, redirect appropriated funds, or reduce other payments that are not necessary to satisfy "public debt." There is no constitutional requirement to borrow. Moreover, even if the clause precludes temporary default-which is far from clear-it does not authorize the President to incur additional debt. That power is vested in Congress, not the President.

The path to fiscal solvency will not be easy. It will involve tough decisions and compromises. The Constitution does not explicitly state the policy solution for the current fiscal crisis. The Constitution provides a process for deliberating about the problem and reaching a solution. Some policies make more fiscal sense than others: cutting current spending, capping future spending, and balancing the budget is a better solution than raising taxes without reassessing the budget. But, both are constitutional. While we are free to disagree about the solutions, the process is clear: Congress has the power to borrow, not the President.

The Balfour Declaration, issued by the British Government in 1917, in which the Jewish people were promised a national home did not qualify as international law. However, the San Remo Resolution of 1920, which incorporated the Balfour Declaration, made the pledge binding under International Law. The San Remo Declaration, together with Article 22 of the Covenant of the League of Nations and Article 80 in the Charter of the United Nations, are still applicable today. Pressurising Israel to go back to 1967 lines and dividing Jerusalem would thus be a serious breach of International Law.

Hizb ut-Tahrir holds conference in Chicago

U.N. Report Criticizes Israel for Actions at Border

The bottom line of this report is that a nation is not allowed to defend by lethal force, a provacative violation of its border. Wasn't this violation an invasion? But of course they only say this about Israel.

I want to preface this book review with a review of my own. I loved every page of it. Nisan has a very engaging style and an enourmous reservoir of knowledge which he generously shares. He tackles the most difficult issues with great clarity and insight. He even challenges the notion that Israel should be both Jewish and democratic. When the state was declared, it was declared only as a Jewish state. He says the left forced this new notion on Israel in a bid to undo its Jewishness.  One of Obama's most useful idiots, putative Republican U.S. Secretary Transportation Ray LaHood, traveled to Mexico City to sign the "agreement" far from our gaze as he made certain America's humiliation was complete.

 By ratifying a so-called "pilot" program to allow Mexican junk wagons disguised as long haul trucks onto the highways we pay for Obama has handed his pal Felipe Calderón another way to sneak undocumented fraudulent Democrat voters all over our nation.

BREAKING NEWS: President Obama reportedly threatens to halt Social Security checks and perhaps even paychecks to our troops if the debt ceiling isn't raised by August 2nd.

In an interview scheduled to air tonight on CBS News, Obama reportedly tells anchor Scott Pelley, "I cannot guarantee that those checks go out on August 3rd if we haven't resolved this issue. ...this is not just a matter of Social Security checks. These are veterans' checks, these are folks on disability and their checks."

I hope you understand exactly what is happening here. Barack Obama is once again essentially holding our soldiers and senior citizens "hostage" to his ideological demands. He did this during the recent debate over a possible government shutdown.

There would be no problem raising the debt limit if Obama would agree to cut spending. But he is so committed to his extreme ideological agenda that he is threatening to cut off Social Security checks in order to force Republicans to vote for tax increases.

This is one of the ugliest things I have seen in all my years in Washington. How uncivil is it for the president to threaten our senior citizens over his demand for higher taxes? Obama feels comfortable doing this because he knows the media won't dare to question him.

Democrats Declare Obama The Winner

Multiple press reports suggest that Democrats think Barack Obama has already won the public relations battle in the debt talks. As one Washington Post reporter put it: "Democratic strategists think Republicans have misplayed the debt-ceiling negotiations to the point that, almost no matter the outcome, Obama can claim the high ground."

Referring to Obama, a top Democrat aide told Politico, "He's got the high ground. He's the adult in the room. He's looking good right now." Really?

Obama is so serious about solving our fiscal crisis that at his press conference yesterday he again brought up tax cuts for corporate jets. Obama is running an annual deficit of $1.5 trillion. The corporate jet tax would save $300 million a year. Just $1.4997 trillion to go! That is not a serious solution.

Obama is such an "adult," he uses gibberish like "spending in the tax code" to disguise his real goal. He's so serious that you will never hear him tell you what he really means, which is, "I want to raise your taxes, but Republicans won't let me."

And he's really taking the moral high ground when he talks about taxing "millionaires and billionaires," when in fact he's really aiming for, as the Associated Press noted, "small business owners and potentially low and middle-income families."

Obama: The Great Exaggerator

If Ronald Reagan was known as the Great Communicator, perhaps Barack Obama will be known as the Great Exaggerator. For example, Obama once implied that his father was able to come to America thanks to a program created by President Kennedy. But Barack Obama, Sr., came to America in 1959; Kennedy didn't become president until 1961.

Obama also attempted to link the civil rights marches in Selma, Alabama, to his own birth. Never mind that Obama was born 1961 and that the Selma marches didn't take place until 1965.

Now another Obama story is coming under scrutiny. During the 2008 race and the campaign to reform healthcare, Obama often spoke about his mother's tragic battle with cancer and her battle against the evil insurance companies that tried to deny her treatment.

I won't go into all the details here. But thanks to Bryon York's reporting at the Washington Examiner, we are now learning that this story too has been grossly exaggerated.

Obama speaks passionately to sway his audiences but just don't pay too much attention to the facts. We see it all the time in his press conferences, which are full of class warfare rhetoric but short on reality.

Here Comes Polygamy

As I noted yesterday Archbishop Timothy Dolan recently warned that New York's "latest dilution of the authentic understanding of marriage" would inevitably lead to "another redefinition to justify multiple partners and infidelity." He was right to be concerned, and his warning was prophetic.

Those of us who have been fighting the militant homosexual rights movement have warned for years that polygamy is the next logical step in the battle to redefine marriage. Liberals were quick to accuse us of hyperbole and scare tactics.

But none of them could adequately answer the question posed in yesterday's report: If society can no longer limit marriage to the union of one and one woman, on what legal basis can it justify discriminating against the love of one man and three women?

We're about to learn the answer to that very question. Today's New York Times reports that a "proud polygamist," and the subject of the reality show "Sister Wives," is taking his case to federal court, arguing that consenting adults have a right to engage in whatever "intimate conduct" they choose.

He is relying on the Supreme Court's 2003 ruling in Lawrence v. Texas. That case has been frequently cited by legal scholars as the foundation for the judicial imposition of same-sex "marriage" on all 50 states.

In fact, in his dissenting opinion in Lawrence, Justice Scalia warned that if Texas was prohibited from basing laws on "moral choices," then laws against same-sex marriage and bigamy would inevitably be called into question. Well, here we are.

When the left insists that we cannot legislate morality, it is lying. All law is someone's interpretation of morality - someone's decision that THIS is right and THAT is wrong. The question is: Whose morality will prevail? The left has every intention of imposing its morality on society. Senate Democrats have announced hearings on legislation that would repeal the Defense of Marriage Act and legalize same-sex "marriage."

This is why it is so important for men and women of faith to be involved in the political arena. Yes, prayer is important, but action is necessary too. David didn't just pray that God would defeat Goliath; he picked up stones and fought.

Is the Debt Ceiling Unconstitutional?

With the August deadline for the debt ceiling looming, several U.S. Senators think we should ignore it altogether. Since the Fourteenth Amendment says the debt shall not be questioned, they contend, the President may continue to borrow money to meet the nation's financial obligations, even if Congress does not extend the debt ceiling.

Though it is commendable that the Left has dusted off their pocket Constitutions, they should take another look at Article I. As Andrew Grossman explains, the Constitution clearly empowers Congress-and Congress alone-to borrow money on the credit of the United States.

The Borrowing Clause of the Constitution vests Congress with the power "to borrow money on the credit of the United States." The Framers agreed that Congress may borrow on the credit of the United Sates for particular circumstances (to meet an emergency such as sudden war). But it would not be permissible for any branch other than Congress to do so. Unilateral action by the President to borrow money would be an unconstitutional usurpation of the legislative power.

Contrary to what some Senators claim, section four of the Fourteenth Amendment does not give the President power to usurp Congress's power. Section four states: "The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law . . . shall not be questioned." The clause distinguishes between the debt of the United States and that of the Confederacy. The former shall be honored and paid; the latter ignored. It does not follow that a debt ceiling is unconstitutional.

The Fourteenth Amendment does not specify how to pay the debt. Congress may, for example, raise taxes, cut spending, redirect appropriated funds, or reduce other payments that are not necessary to satisfy "public debt."  There is no constitutional requirement to borrow. Moreover, even if the clause precludes temporary default-which is far from clear-it does not authorize the President to incur additional debt. That power is vested in Congress, not the President.

The path to fiscal solvency will not be easy. It will involve tough decisions and compromises. The Constitution does not explicitly state the policy solution for the current fiscal crisis. The Constitution provides a process for deliberating about the problem and reaching a solution. Some policies make more fiscal sense than others:  cutting current spending, capping future spending, and balancing the budget is a better solution than raising taxes without reassessing the budget. But, both are constitutional. While we are free to disagree about the solutions, the process is clear: Congress has the power to borrow, not the President.

Obama's massive anti-gun payoff is in the works.

I've been telling you since he took office that Obama was going to launch a MAJOR ATTACK on your gun rights.

Recently, Obama even admitted he was going to do it "under the radar"...

Well, according to reports coming straight out of the White House, the President is getting ready to unveil some serious "reform" to gun laws.

With his reelection campaign in full swing, Obama is getting ready to pay the anti-gun piper, and he'll use any means necessary.

Obama and his anti-gun allies have their sights set on:

• BANNING the private sales of ALL firearms between American citizens;
• Ban certain types of hunting and self-defense ammunition that meet arbitrary conditions;
• BAN standard magazines that hold more than 10 rounds;
• AND; they might even shoot for one of their biggest goals: to ban semi-automatic rifles and all handguns.

They're just waiting for the next crisis -- the next school shooting or public attack -- to exploit, so they can use the blood of innocents to grease the wheels of their anti-gun, anti-freedom agenda.

To make matters worse, we can't count on the Republican leadership in the House or Senate to stand with gun owners. Their eagerness to cut deals with Obama on raising the debt ceiling, despite OVERWHELMING tea party opposition, gives me no reason to think they won't cave on gun rights if Obama comes calling.

Obama has directed notorious anti-gunner and Justice Department stooge, Eric Holder, to work with "Second Amendment stakeholders" to craft Executive orders and administrative rulings on gun rights.

As you know, Eric Holder is neck-deep in the Congressional investigation into the Gunwalker controversy, involving ATF agents permitting firearms to be smuggled to violent Mexican drug cartels.

Just who exactly are the stakeholders Holder will be working with?

It's certainly not gun owners, or no-compromise gun rights organizations like the National Association for Gun Rights. I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for an invite to THOSE meetings.

Sarah Brady, billionaire-playboy Michael Bloomberg, Hillary Clinton; those are the "stakeholders" that will be crafting Obama's anti-gun schemes.

Members of the institutional gun lobby may be eager to join Bloomberg and company to beg for scraps at Obama's bargaining table, but I won't. The National Association for Gun Rights will NEVER compromise, and will ALWAYS stand firm against the anti-gunners in Washington.

When the White House was asked how long before they acted on this issue, their response was, "not far in the future."

Something big is coming, they've got to pay off their anti-gun allies before the next election, and time is running short.

What worries me is, with how sneaky Obama and his cronies are, most people won't be aware of it until it AFTER it happens...

...until it's too late.

That's why I need you to be aware.

I need you to know just how subversive and underhanded this administration is.

Obama has been dropping hints to his pals in the anti-gun lobby that he's working on gun control "under the radar."

Now he's getting ready to take advantage of the fact that nobody is paying attention to gun laws.

He's COUNTING on people like you being distracted by the debate about the economy or who is leading in the pennant race, or worrying about getting all your bills paid, as cover to push his anti-gun schemes.

I know that I can count on you to pay attention to the gun-grabbers in Washington when nobody else is watching.

After all, they are counting on you looking in the opposite direction so they can ram their anti-gun agenda down your throat before you can say "Second Amendment."

I need to know that you stand with me against Obama's anti-gun payoff.

Will you chip in $15 or $25 to help the National Association for Gun Rights keep fighting Obama’s coming attack on the second amendment?

It would combine paying off the interest on the debt first with paying the salaries for our brave men and women in the military. We deal with the must-haves like Social Security and Medicare, and then it's tough love. I agree, it would be very sacrificial, but the one thing that we can't do, Bill, is add another $2.4 trillion to the debt." 
        

Bachmann hints that she would support raising the debt ceiling if Democrats agreed to defund the health care reform law: "They'd have to cut an enormous amount, including they would have to defund ObamaCare. Boehner Embraces Cutting, Capping, and Balancing

Republicans in Congress believe raising taxes is a bad idea. President Obama says the taxes he wants to raise are in 2013 or 2014. But Republicans understand that businesses will start making cuts today to preserve their net profits tomorrow. 
 

"The American people will not accept, and the House cannot pass, a bill that raises taxes on job creators. The House can only pass a debt limit bill that includes spending cuts larger than the hike in the debt limit as well as real restraints on future spending. My colleagues and I feel we should enact a balanced budget amendment to keep the federal government from spending us into the same situation again. We also need real reductions in spending right now and spending caps to ensure that progress we make is not undone in the future... A bill that doesn't meet these tests can't pass the House of Representatives. 
        

The GOP must throw out the normal political playbook. They must make clear that this is not a negotiation. Cut, Cap, and Balance is an ultimatum. [Red State, July 11]
