Phyllis Schlafly has been a national leader of the conservative movement since the publication of her best-selling 1964 book, A Choice Not An Echo. She has been a leader of the pro-family movement since 1972, when she started her national volunteer organization now called Eagle Forum.

In a ten-year battle, Mrs. Schlafly led the pro-family movement to victory over the principal legislative goal of the radical feminists, called the Equal Rights Amendment. An articulate and successful opponent of the radical feminist movement, she appears in debate on college campuses more frequently than any other conservative. She was named one of the 100 most important women of the 20th century by the Ladies' Home Journal.

Remember when the Obama Administration's Department of Homeland Security issued a report entitled "Right-wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment"?  It's really worth a quick perusal so you can count all the times it cites "right wing extremists" and "returning veterans" as a threat, while never ONCE mentioning Islamists or Muslim extremists.  Check it out --> http://www.wnd.com/images/dhs-rightwing-extremism.pdf

Of course while the "right wing extremists" and "returning veterans" are peacefully preparing to remove President Obama from office via the ballot box next November, Louis Farrakhan and Malik Zulu Shabbaz, leaders of the Nation of Islam and the New Black Panther Party respectively, are screaming the most blood-curdling accusations imaginable against President Obama.  Apparently they have decided that Obama has stabbed the African Man in the back, and is showing his WHITE side by allying the United States with Europe against Muammar Gadhafi of Libya.  No Tea Partier would ever dare -- or even want to -- say anything like the calls for revolt coming from these men.

Obama's in big trouble.  In politics, Hell hath no fury like a supporter scorned.  THIS IS MUST-SEE MATERIAL

Never thought I'd feel sorry for this President and feel a need to defend his life, but nobody deserves what these guys are calling for.

And, sure enough, Representative Cynthia McKinney is right there with them to accuse Obama of waging a race war against the people of Africa.  I still can't figure out how anyone in Georgia could have let this woman out of her padded cell long enough for her to be elected SIX TIMES.

Secularists prefer to think of Martin Luther King instead of REVEREND Martin Luther King, but today it is his faith that gives special meaning to the words, "Free at last!"  When Rev. King first spoke those words, he was talking about freedom from racial persecution, but today they apply to freedom from religious persecution, as Christian/Animist South Sudan officially declares independence from Muslim-dominated Sudan.

It didn't have to be this way, but Sudan's long-time President Omar al-Bashir decided to turn Sudan into an Arab-controlled Islamic and Shariah-compliant state.  This decision put Sudan's government into a state of war with Sudan's native African populations -- the Christians and Animists of the South and the Muslims of Darfur.

The arrogance of Sudan's long-time Arab invaders, attempting to continue a penetration into Africa that began when Arabs overran the North African coast in the 7th century, is characteristic of Arab/Islamic supremacism (note: the Arab identity is implicitly Islamic, as Arabs will readily attest).  This supremacism considers non-Arabs to be inferior even if they are Muslim. 

Sadly, the Islamic propaganda that pervades our country never informs African-Americans of this discrimination.  Instead, the propagandists claim that Islam is the Black Man's religion while Christianity is the White Man's religion, despite the fact that nearly all of Northern Africa was Christian hundreds of years before Islam even existed.  In fact, the Christians of South Sudan come from some of the world's oldest Christian communities, as is also the case in Ethiopia.

South Sudan's response to this arrogant Arab overreach was a revolt to establish its own country, free of Islam's persecution.  While this separation of the Christian/Animist South from the Islam-dominated North will promises to safeguard the South from the genocidal warfare of al-Bashir, it also provides an important lesson to us Americans:  This liberation is a perfect example of the "Separate" component of ELSI (Educate Liberate Separate Isolate), a winning strategy for defending the non-Islamic world from Islam. 

To the typical American, the idea of physically separating Muslims from non-Muslims is unthinkable -- a form of religious persecution that violates everything our country stands for.  But this viewpoint only reflects a misunderstanding of Islam.  Islam is not a religion as Americans understand the term.  It is a legal system that Muslims believe religiously.  That is, Muslims will not question Islamic Law regardless of how nonsensical or harmful it is, because they submit to it as a matter of religious faith.  And a big part of Islamic Law defines how to systematically persecute non-Muslims and grind them down over time until they no longer exist.

Once Americans have been Educated about the true nature of Islam, they will appreciate the important of Liberating ourselves of our dependence on the Islamic world for oil and other natural resources.  They will also recognized that believing Muslims represent an existential threat to the Constitution and its subsequent laws, which they seek to replace with Islamic Law.  Therefore, while Muslims may be free to live as they like in Islamic nations, they must be Separated from non-Muslim nations because they will invariably attack their host countries and the people living in them.  Finally, while Muslims may be very bellicose in their intentions, Islamic society is so dysfunctional that it is incapable of developing advanced weapons on its own.  Therefore Islamic nations can only be a real threat if we sell them the technology or weapons they could use against us.  So instead of selling Islamic nations the ropes with which they would hang us, we must Isolate them economically and technologically.  If Islamic society is as great as they think it is, the vast portions of the world under Islamic control should be fully capable of sustaining Muslims without Western aid, products, and technology.

If we, as Americans, can celebrate the freedom that South Sudan proclaims, then we can accept the SEPARATE phase of ELSI.  We've already seen similar Separations many times in the past.  For example, we celebrated when Catholic East Timor was liberated from Islamic Indonesia in 2002, and took heart when the Orthodox Republic of Cyprus established its independence from the Turkish invaders who settled for only North Cyprus in 1974, and saw India separate into Hindu India and Muslim Pakistan in 1947.  We also saw the British Mandate of Palestine separate into Israel and what has become the Palestinian Territories.

In all of these cases, Muslims were separated from very different kinds of people.  Some were Catholic, some were Orthodox, some were Hindu, and some were Jewish.  Obviously the only common thread throughout these separations was that non-Muslims were threatened by Muslim violence and oppression.  This confirms that Islam is the real source of the problem, despite attempts by Islam's apologists to throw blame on others. 

With this in mind, why on Earth should we allow Muslims to continue to immigrate to our country?

JUBA - Thousands of South Sudanese danced through the night to mark the first hours of their independence on Saturday, a hard-won separation from the north that also plunged the fractured region into a new period of uncertainty. 

 

The Republic of South Sudan, an under-developed oil producer, became the world's newest nation on the stroke of midnight.

It won its independence in a January referendum - the climax of a 2005 peace deal that ended decades of civil war with the north.

The Palestinian Authority is facing a budget crisis. It has reached its borrowing limit and has a 585 million dollar deficit... Back in 2007, 7.4 billion dollars was pledged to keep the terrorist edifice of the Authority running. The PA claimed that it needed 3.9 billion for budgetary shortfalls alone.

In America the economy isn't so hot... but it's actually not so bad in the terrorist state that your tax money is funding.

The World Bank report for 2011 found that only 16 percent of the West Bank under PA control was living below the poverty line. How serious is a 16 percent poverty rate? It's better than the poverty rate in Washington D.C. which hit 18.9 percent. That means that politicians in Washington D.C. are diverting money that could have been used to help needy Americans a few miles from their offices, to help the comparatively better off terrorist populations in the West Bank.

What Happens When Iran Kills American Soldiers?

There must be very few times in American history when a foreign government is accused of killing American troops, and absolutely nothing is done about it.

Every school kid used to learn lines like "Perdicaris Alive or Raisuli Dead," or "Millions for defense but not one cent for tribute." The War of 1812 was fought in large part due to the "impressment" of American sailors by the British, a similar example of denial of freedom that fell far short of actually killing American sailors.

So what are we to make of the following statements by America's senior military officer, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Michael Mullen? Reuters reports that at a luncheon with journalists, Mullen said this:

"Iran is very directly supporting extremist Shia groups which are killing our troops. And there's no reason ... for me to believe that they're going to stop that as our numbers come down....There's no question they want to influence, and...

• Listing the only democracy in the Middle East, Israel, as a terror sponsor.  The Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency maintains a list of countries that "have shown a tendency to promote, produce or protect terrorist organizations of their members."  Recently Israel has been placed on this list.  This equivalence with such nations as Syria and Iran is breathtaking.  Nothing like blaming the victim of unrelenting terrorism and including her with the world's "leading perpetrators of terrorism."
• Pursuing a policy of "limited contacts" with Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood.  Rep. Trent Franks of Arizona, a member of the House...

  Why we need to stand with Captain Fields
  We need 4,000 signatures to reach our petition goal

I have a message from my heart I want to send to every ACT! for America member today. It's about something very, very precious to me: Freedom.

  Because of my love of freedom, I have long been a student of our colonial and founding era. Words cannot describe how much I have learned studying the writings of the Founding Fathers.

Four days ago we celebrated the 235^th birthday of our country, a country birthed out of passionate desire for liberty and self-governance.

Against that backdrop, police Captain Paul Fields was demoted and suspended because he refused to surrender his constitutional rights when ordered to attend an Islamic proselytizing event held at a Muslim Brotherhood-connected Islamic Center.

Sadly, very little attention has been paid to this in the media, even in the more conservative talk radio media. So why have we at ACT! for America decided this is an issue we need to aggressively fight?

Here's why, and it's the same reason our friends at the Thomas More Law Center have filed a lawsuit on his behalf.

Protecting freedom.

I have no quarrel with government officials choosing, voluntarily, to attend religious events of various faiths. But Captain Fields should never have been compelled to attend an Islamic service and observe classes on Islamic beliefs, simply because he was a police officer and was ordered by his superior to do so.

Would the ACLU sit by quietly if a Muslim officer were ordered to attend a Sunday morning Christian service, called "Law Enforcement Appreciation Day?" We all know the answer to that.

If the disciplinary action taken against Captain Fields is allowed to stand, without protest or outrage, the message sent to government officials, not only in Tulsa but across the country, is that they can compel subordinates to attend Islamic events, and no one will resist.

As much as Islamic terrorism concerns me, I am as concerned about the threat radical Islam-and the political correctness that enables it-poses to our freedoms.

That threat is incremental, where tyranny chips away at freedom little by little, until one day freedom is gone.

Just ask Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff, our chapter leader in Austria who was recently convicted of "denigrating a religion," about incremental loss of freedom.

Our Founding Fathers understood incremental loss of freedom. That's why they protested even small taxes imposed on them unlawfully, not because the amounts were large, but because of the precedents they set.

We at ACT! for America do not have the human or financial resources to engage every issue or fight every fight. But the case of Captain Paul Fields is one we must rise up and fight.

Government officials in Tulsa need to know there are Americans who will resist politically-correct driven assaults on our freedom. The Islamic Center of Tulsa needs to know this. Groups like CAIR and ISNA need to know this. Government officials around the country need to know this.

If we, as an organization, make a strong enough and loud enough stand, they will know.

Because if we don't, what will be next-the Mayor of Tulsa ordering his staff to attend a Ramadan Iftar dinner?

Pro-Palestinian fly-in protesters blocked by airports abroad

Israel Police decided to decrease its security presence at Ben-Gurion airport yesterday evening, stating that it no longer expects a mass fly-in of pro-Palestinian activists to Israel because the majority of participants had been stopped abroad. The bulk of activists are expected to arrive in Israel Friday afternoon, but police believe that most of them have already been prevented from departing airports abroad, after the Transportation Ministry handed foreign airlines a list of 300 people who have been blacklisted by Israel.

Little follow-up on the ugly stats coming out of Pennsylvania from PPP and other pollsters, where Obama is performing worse here than in Ohio. Western Pennsylvania has trended red for some time now, with nearly the entire Pittsburgh metro area going for McCain in 2008. Obama of course beat him by over 10 points, but that was thanks to a massive, massive rack up not in Philly (where he only added another 30,000 votes over Kerry in the grand scheme of things), but the Philly suburbs.

Here is a pretty straightforward visual on how you win PA, either narrowly or comfortably:

Boehner walks away from $1 trillion in tax increases

Their fierce insistence on higher taxes is beyond bizarre. After months of demanding 'clean' increase to avert economic calamity (default), WH threatens economic calamity (default) unless they get economic calamity (trillions in tax hikes). No wonder these guys are governing over an economic calamity (9.2% & growth malaise), w/ an economic calamity on the horizon (debt explosion as mapped out in president's budget). The bipartisan consensus on tax reform (broader base & lower rates) was championed by President's fiscal commission, and yet now is being rebuked by the President. Lowering top rates that would help make America more competitive was too large a leap for a true class warrior.

BOEING IS A GREAT AMERICAN COMPANY. Recently it has built a second production line-its other is in Washington State-in South Carolina for its 787 Dreamliner airplane, creating 1,000 jobs there so far. Who knows what factors led to its decision to do this? As with all such business decisions, there were many. But the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)-a five-member agency created in 1935 by the Wagner Act (about which I will speak momentarily)-has taken exception to this decision, ultimately based on the fact that South Carolina is a right-to-work state. That is, South Carolina, like 21 other states today, protects a worker's right not only to join a union, but also to make the choice not to join or financially support a union. Washington State does not. The general counsel of the NLRB, on behalf of the International Association of Machinists union, has issued a complaint against Boeing, which, if successful, would require it to move its South Carolina operation back to Washington State. This would represent an unprecedented act of intervention by the federal government that appears, on its face, un-American. But it is an act long in the making, and boils down to a fundamental misunderstanding of freedom.

A new member of Congress who rode into office during the 2010 American rejection of Washington's business-as-usual practice today said that a special prosecutor needs to review the actions of Attorney General Eric Holder regarding the "Fast and Furious" gun scandal where weapons were sold to carriers known to supply Mexican drug lords, and the circumstances make it appear that President Obama could have dirty hands in the deal.

During an appearance on the Steve Gill Show, U.S. Rep. Allen West said the roads that appear to lead to those responsible for the botched program that was supposed to trace guns to high-ranking drug lords are alarming.

"This is just another sad chapter in the Eric Holder book of ineptness and incompetence," West said. "Eric Holder needs to be brought before an investigative committee and if those charges are warranted he needs to be held accountable.

Space shuttle Atlantis final launch: NASA video of last take-off

Atlantis has blasted off on NASA's last space shuttle launch. The historic liftoff occurred Friday morning, 30 years and three months after the very first shuttle flight. Four astronauts are riding Atlantis to orbit. The shuttle is bound for the
International Space Station, making one final supply run. Hundreds of thousands of spectators jammed Cape Canaveral and surrounding towns for the farewell. Kennedy Space Center itself was packed with shuttle workers, astronauts and 45,000 invited guests, the maximum allowed. The flight will last 12 days. Weather permitting, Atlantis will return to Kennedy, where it will end up on permanent display.

Sunday Danger!

There are disturbing hints that some GOP leaders are edging into a disastrous debt ceiling deal with Obama this Sunday. It would include massive cuts in our defense budget, possibly a trillion dollars in revenues to Washington's bureaucrats and ephemeral spending cuts that will disappear over time.

Bill Kristol of the Weekly Standard sounded the alarm last night. Rush Limbaugh was concerned enough today to predict that if it happened, the GOP would split, there would be a third party and Barack Obama would be virtually reelected before the campaign even begins.

MESSAGE TO GOP LEADERS: Obama is weak and presiding over an economic disaster. Do not cave on taxes. Don't gut defense. Don't accept "slippery" spending cuts that never actually happen. Man up!

ACTION ITEM: Call the Speaker's office right now at (202) 225-0600. If you can't get through, use this link to send an email to his office. Encourage Speaker Boehner to stand firm in resisting tax increases and extreme cuts to the defense budget.

Where Are The Jobs?

Speaker John Boehner's question to President Obama during his Twitter town hall event is even more relevant after today's unbelievably bad jobs report. Boehner asked, "After embarking on a record spending binge that's left us deeper in debt, where are the jobs?"

Just 18,000 new jobs were added to the economy last month. But the news gets even worse. The low figures for April and May were revised downward, so that 44,000 fewer jobs were actually created in those months than initially thought. But, wait - there's more! The official unemployment rate is now up to 9.2% and the underemployment rate is up to 16.2%.

Last month Obama told us that there would be "bumps on the road to recovery." To give you some perspective on just how bumpy the "Obama recovery" has been, consider this from the Associated Press: "The economy and job market are remarkably weak two years after the recession officially ended. Unemployment has topped 8 percent for 29 months, the longest streak since the 1930s." In other words, Obama's success has taken us back to the Great Depression!

It is worth reminding everyone that Obama and his Democrat allies wanted to raise taxes last year. Fortunately, Republicans held their ground, and forced Obama to accept a two-year extension of the Bush tax cuts. Just imagine how much worse off we would be today if Obama had gotten his way and had taxed billions of dollars out of the private sector.

Unbelievably - and inexcusably in my view - Obama, Reid and Pelosi are still insisting that we raise taxes as part of any agreement on the debt ceiling. Taxes don't create jobs!

Here's a sample: 

I have yet to mention the defect which tops off all of the defects of the Confederacy: the lack of a judiciary power. Laws are worthless words on paper without courts to interpret and define their true meaning and function.  If the treaties of the United States are to have any force at all, they must be considered part of the law of the land. Their true significance, as far as individuals are concerned, must, like all other laws, be determined by the judiciary.  To make sure that these determinations remain uniform, there ought to be a body which has the last word on all of them, a SUPREME COURT, which should be given the same degree of authority as that which negotiates the treaties in the first place. Both of these ingredients are absolutely necessary.  If each state has its own supreme court, a court which would have the last word for that individual state, then there may be as many legal determinations as there are courts.  There is an infinite amount of diverse opinions among men, as we see when not only different courts, but judges on even the same courts disagree with each other.  To avoid the confusion that would come from multiple courts making contradictory decisions on multiple laws, all nations have found it necessary to establish one Supreme Court that is above all the others and which has the final say on all judicial determinations, so that the rules of civil justice remain uniform throughout the land.
