If you know the good work of the Heritage Foundation for our cause, you know it is really exciting to have Mr. Knepper as our guest speaker.

    The July 8^th meeting of the Valley Forge Patriots will be held at a new location, the Phoenixville Country Club (PCC). The PCC is located on Country Club Road approximately 2 miles south of Route 23. The room we will be using can comfortably seat over 100 people, so don't hesitate to bring friends. As at previous venues, table food service of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and beer, wine and soda will be available throughout the meeting. Food and drinks are offered at PCC member prices --- cash and credit cards accepted. Just as a pebble can start an avalanche, we will not rest until millions of righteous people arise to stop those who would destroy Israel and bring America to her knees. Our voices must be heard. Next step: take it to the floor of the People's House. Take it to the Well!    
 As you know, Israel is receiving tremendous pressure directly from President Obama and his administration to accept the 1967 armistice lines as her new borders. Implementation of these borders would mean that parts of Israel would become Arab-Palestinian, regardless of a UN Hamas/Fatah mandate. 
   
 The reality is: Obama's G8 resolution and a UN mandate are one and the same - to place Israel in a most vulnerable, threatened position by September, forcing her to accept the word of terrorists. If the President were to pursue his desired course of action to fruition, the United States would be destined to collapse from within. She would never recover from the debt incurred from abandoning her position as defender of freedom in this world. 
   
 What we can do?
  
 Everyone agrees that we must do something -- but what? There are those who say that we must make demands directly to the President through the White House, and those who argue that we must demand that Congress end appropriations to Fatah/Hamas.  Unfortunately, none of the suggested strategies has been effective in stopping Obama's advance.  He has let us know that he is not going to listen.  In order to be victorious, we need a change in tactics - an effective strategy that can produce real change. 
   
 Proven Strategy 
   
 There is one strategy proven to work, and it requires a simple action from all concerned. Everyone has to make one phone call per day, every day, to achieve what Americans were able to accomplish in 2007.  
  
 In 2007, there was a push by the President to pass the "Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act." Many Americans hated the bill, so they "melted the phone lines" day after day, until Congress got the message, and the bill was not passed. The initiative was abandoned. 
  
 Now it's our time to turn up the heat - while implementing the same strategy is crucial, our challenge is far greater. The severity of the threat that that our nation faces from Obama's foreign policy towards Israel is unprecedented. It calls for nothing less than a Congressional State-of-Emergency Referendum.  
  
 Tapping into the power that Congress can exercise from the Well of the House will produce the desired result.  We must take our message to the Well, the "American People's Soap Box," so that our Representatives can make our case directly to the citizens of this great nation. 
   
 We urge every single member of our coalition to first call Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, 202-225-5021 or 305-668-2285, and request: "As an informed citizen, I ask Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, a high-ranking member of the House of Representatives, to read the following statement daily from the Well of the House until she receives a reply:

1. Pledge Fatigue

Republican leaders on Capitol Hill are pushing out stories, encouraging various media outlets to write about "pledge fatigue."

This is in response to the Cut, Cap, Balance Pledge being pushed hard by conservative groups.

One reporter called me for comment and said several senior Republican offices on Capitol Hill had pointed to my recent posts on the pledge as evidence of fatigue.

Boy were they badly mistaken and, more so, allow us to confirm it is Republican leadership offices pushing the fatigue story for their own gain at the nation's expense.

What I said was that I am tired of pledges that have no teeth. Conservatives in Washington often do pledges to avoid doing the hard work of beating liberal Republicans.

The real problem Republican Leaders have is that they just got burned with flaking out on their own pledge. They promised $100 billion in cuts, folded like a cheap suit under the slightest pressure, and now, instead of growing a spine and keeping their promises, have just decided to stop making any promises. This is the Mitch McConnell strategy: never announce what you are for, so no matter what you get you call it a victory.

Conservatives need to take note of this and up the ante dramatically.

2. The Drunk On The Beltway: Two Obama Tricks That Are Going To Clean Boehner's Clock

Watching House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell negotiate with Barack Obama is like watching a drunk try to run across the Beltway. Whether it's ObamaCare, the financial reform bill, the Kagan nomination, the disastrous Lame Duck agenda, the Senate rules battle, the pathetic "continuing resolution deal," or the current debt limit fight, you know both of them will end up as a splotch on the road, marked by Barack Obama's tiretracks.

Let me predict two tactics Obama will use.

3. The Latest From Obama's Labor Dept: "You Might Be Union Busting If..."

Last week, the union extremists controlling the U.S. Department of Labor and the National Labor Relations Board conducted a coordinated attack on America's job creators. The first punch, a 160-page rule-making proposal by the Department of Labor was issued on Monday for public comments. However, it was quickly drowned out by the second punch: Tuesday's NLRB rule-making proposal to modify election procedures, which are intended to fast track union elections giving unions greater ability to unionize employees.

It is important to note that both rule-making proposals are intended to work together and, like an axe in an executioner's hand, they are intended to make an employer's resistance to unionization futile.

4. Our Nation Is All About The Choices We Make

"GOP Willing To Sacrifice Sacred Defense Cow For A Debt Ceiling Deal"

Personally, I find this decision to compromise more of an outrage than the Huffpo Insider headline. According to a somewhat more trustworthy source of news and information than Huffpo Insider, there actually is a substance behind this particular instance of political snootiness from the typical troglodytes of the far-left Internet fever swamp. The Washington Post describes what a right wing version of Neville Chamberlain sounds like when interviewed.

5. Nothing Evinces Hypocrisy More than Obama's Oil Policy

President Obama has asserted ad nauseam that expanding oil drilling would not affect the price of oil and generate price relief at the gas pump. He has scoffed at the 'drill, baby, drill' plan, denouncing it as insufficient in dealing with our "long-term" energy needs. Now that his reelection prospects are beginning to wither, Obama is undergoing a foxhole conversion and easing his aversion to that "addictive" black substance. Or, so it seems.

Last Thursday, after several weeks of steady decline in the price of oil, and following secret meetings with the Saudis, Obama had an epiphany. Did he suddenly accede to calls for expediting drilling in the Gulf and in Alaska? Did he agree to lift the permitorium on drilling in 97% of the Outer Continental Shelf? Not a chance. Instead, his Energy Secretary announced the release of 30 million barrels of oil from our Strategic Petroleum Reserves (SPR), in conjunction with a 30-million-barrel release from other countries within the International Energy Agency (IEA). The total release will be 60 million barrels, proceeding at a rate of 2 million barrels per day (bpd) for a month.

Daniel Horowitz, who represents "Muslim Mafia" co-author P. David Gaubatz and his son, Chris, believes the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, knows that the material is incriminating and wants it destroyed.  

"So far, the Obama administration has refused to prosecute CAIR," Horowitz said, "despite undeniable evidence that following 9/11 they sought donations for 9/11 victims and passed the money to the Hamas-based Holy Land Foundation."

Farah was referring to Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina who told ABC News today that Republicans who support raising the debt limit without first passing a balanced budget amendment and massive across-the-board spending cuts will be out in 2012. 

"You're gone," he said, "destined to be swept out of Congress by a wave of voter anger. Based on what I can see around the country not only are those individuals gone, but I would suspect the Republican Party would be set back many years. It would be the most toxic vote. I can tell you if you look at the polls, Democrats, Republicans, independents, they do not think we should increase the debt limit." 

Farah says DeMint is absolutely right.

Elderly woman asked to remove adult diaper during TSA search

Jean Weber of Destin filed a complaint with the Department of Homeland Security after her 95-year-old mother was detained and extensively searched last Saturday while trying to board a plane to fly to Michigan to be with family members during the final stages of her battle with leukemia.

Pledging Allegiance

Frank Mickens took NBC to task for its censorship of "Under God" and "Indivisible" from the Pledge of Allegiance over the weekend. Mickens is a news anchor for CBS affiliate WFMY-TV in Greensboro, North Carolina . He did what our free press is supposed to do: hold accountable those in power. We need more intrepid journalists like Frank Mickens.

NBC had presented a wonderful video montage showing our brave soldiers defending us in foreign lands and interspersed with school children reciting the Pledge. It was a beautiful image--until alert viewers spotted the mangling of the words. This was no accident, no mere oversight. This was a conscious decision of NBC executives to trash the congressionally mandated words of the Pledge of Allegiance.

President Obama's war in Libya is now illegal, if it was ever legal. So House Speaker John Boehner can try to enforce the Constitution's War Powers Clause, instead of the unconstitutional War Powers Act.

Sunday, June 19, marked 90 days since Obama began U.S. involvement in the conflict, thus reaching the deadline of the War Powers Act. Under that statute, the president must withdraw all military forces after 90 days if Congress doesn't pass a resolution approving continued involvement in the war.

This statute--also called the War Powers Resolution--was enacted in 1973 when Congress overrode President Richard Nixon's veto. It was intended as a check on every president's powers.

Obama's Audacity of Hype

President Obama got a good laugh from his liberal audience at the nationally televised meeting of his Council on Jobs and Competitiveness. At least all those who joined in the laughter there had jobs.

"Shovel-ready was not as... uh... shovel-ready as we expected," the president jibed.

He certainly seemed to be a good sport about it all. One half expected the Daily Show's puckish Jon Stewart to chime in: "Maybe you better not quit your day job, dude!" There's a real problem when the President of the United States feels the need to become the entertainer-in-chief, especially when the joke's about very serious matters that have long-term consequences.

The Biggest Schoolyard Bully: The ACLU

The schoolyard has always been prime turf for bullies. But these days it's not just students who are victims. School administrators and the taxpayers who foot the bill for municipal legal costs are prime targets as well.

The ACLU is demanding that Maryville, Missouri schools end a program that encourages students to wear seatbelts by giving them free pizzas if they do and Dum-Dum lollypops if they don't. The program piggybacks on a statewide campaign, Battle of the Belt. Students report seatbelt use to their resource officers, who then give out prizes.

Bachmann's No "Flake"

Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace blew it big time in his interview with Rep. Michele Bachmann when he asked her if she was a "flake." Bachmann responded, "I think that would be insulting to say something like that because I'm a serious person." She's right - it was an insulting question. Here's the rest of her response:

"I'm 55 years old. I've been married 33 years. ...I have a post-doctorate degree in federal tax law... My husband and I have raised five kids, we've raised 23 foster children. We've applied ourselves to education reform. We started a charter school for at-risk kids. I've also been a state senator and member of the United States Congress for five years."

That was an impressive response; however, there are some obvious gaps. For example, I see she has no experience as a community organizer. She has not sat in a church for 20 years where a racist pastor repeatedly condemned America. And when she served in the Minnesota state legislature, she didn't spend her time ducking the issues and voting "present." She championed mainstream values like traditional marriage.

To his credit, Wallace apologized for the outrageous question. He is a nice guy, but he made the mistake of internalizing the talking points of the left. Granted, he is a journalist. But too many conservatives do the same thing. They dismiss conservative candidates based on the assumptions of left.

The media and left ridiculed Ronald Reagan as an "amiable dunce." When they weren't mocking his supposed lack of intelligence, they accused him of being a dangerous warmonger. The media will savage any candidate who does not share its left-wing worldview. The progressive left will smear any candidate who threatens its power.

But what made Wallace's question so infuriating is that it should be posed to many leading liberals - especially many media elites! For example, in virtually every interview he does, Barney Frank always looks like he is on the verge of a nervous breakdown. He frequently lashes out at interviewers and looks like someone with serious anger management issues.

How about Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann? These men seem to have a very unhealthy obsession with Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann. Why do progressives and fellow journalists tolerate their misogynistic treatment of conservative female candidates? Where is the outrage from the National Organization for Women?

One of the biggest complaints about Bachmann - and one Wallace raised - was her suggestion that some left-wing Democrats in Congress (which at the time included Barack Obama) may be "un-American."

Whether the media want to recognize it or not, millions of Americans are left scratching their heads when the Senate Democrat Leader publicly declares a war "lost" while our troops are fighting on the battlefield. They are confused by politicians who refer to their fellow citizens as "bitter" and "clinging to guns and faith."

They resent liberal politicians who compare our soldiers to Nazis and concentration camp guards. They don't understand why a public figure would spend so much time apologizing for America, rather than defending it, or pursuing policies that seem designed to weaken America, rather than strengthen it.

Many Americans are finding something they like in Michele Bachmann. Last week, a poll found Bachmann running second to Mitt Romney in Florida by a margin of 29% to 22%. And a Des Moines Register poll released Saturday found Romney and Bachmann essentially tied - 23% to 22% - among likely Republican attendees in Iowa's critical first-in-the-nation caucuses.

Obama's In

Of course we all know Barack Obama is running for reelection. That is not news. The "news" I'm referring to came Friday when it was announced that President Obama would personally engage in the stalled debt talks. You may recall that Thursday top Republican leaders abandoned the talks led by Vice President Joe Biden over the issue of taxes. Today the president is reportedly meeting with Senate leaders Harry Reid (D-NV) and Mitch McConnell (R-KY).

The media hailed the announcement as some sort of breakthrough, portraying Obama as if he were the only adult in the room. But this is the same president who has repeatedly produced budgets with trillion-dollar deficits.

Democrats claim they are willing to accept $2 trillion in spending cuts. This is largely smoke and mirrors. The overwhelming majority of those cuts is expected to come from savings from the drawdown of operations in Afghanistan. And as we learned earlier this year, Obama is not even willing to cut taxpayer-funding for abortions!

The media is also demanding to know what the GOP is giving up in exchange for these cuts. Republicans are being asked to vote to increase the debt limit. That is what they are giving up, and that ought to be sufficient. But, no, Democrats and the left-wing media think we should also increase taxes, saying we must have more revenue.

Republicans don't necessarily disagree - they want more revenue for deficit reduction too. But there is a dramatic disagreement between the two sides over the best way to raise it. While Democrats want to increase tax rates so that families lose more out of each paycheck, Republicans want to adopt pro-growth policies that will grow the economy and in the process generate more revenue by creating more jobs.

Defend America - Elect Conservatives!

The U.S. soccer team lost to Mexico Saturday 2-to-4. By most accounts, the U.S. team deserved to lose. They did not play remarkably well and Mexico was clearly the "home" team favorite of the crowd. The American players were booed, the national anthem was interrupted by air horns and the entire post-game interview was conducted in Spanish. What makes this game remarkable is that it was played at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles, not Mexico City.

I don't like to report things that are difficult or impossible for you to influence, and obviously you can't change the outcome of this game. But if you are disturbed by the anti-American behavior of this crowd, there is something you can do: Vote for conservative candidates!

As I wrote last week, progressive elites are embarrassed by America and by our traditional values. Anti-Americanism is a phenomenon of the left, which is actively trying to undermine our values. Liberal political and media elites are certainly not going to stand up for our values. It's up to us to elect conservative candidates who will!

President Obama Plays Politics in Afghanistan

The nation's two highest-ranking military commanders have gone on record raising serious concerns about President Obama's flawed plan to bring 33,000 troops home from Afghanistan by September 2012. The outgoing Commander of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan, General David Petraeus, said during Senate hearings last week that the troop withdrawal was "a more aggressive formulation...than what we had recommended."

CIA book review

For the historical record...

As President George W. Bush's top speech writer, Marc Thiessen was provided unique access to the CIA program used in interrogating top Al Qaeda terrorists, including the mastermind of the 9/11 attack, Khalid Sheikh Mohammad (KSM). 

Now, his riveting new book, "Courting Disaster", How the CIA Kept America Safe (Regnery), has  been published.

Here is an excerpt from "Courting Disaster":
Just before dawn on March 1, 2003 , two dozen heavily armed Pakistani tactical assault forces move in and surround a safe house in Rawalpindi .  A few hours earlier they had received a text message from an informant inside the house. It read:  "I am with KSM."

Bursting in, they find the disheveled mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, in his bedroom. He is taken into custody.  In the safe house, they find a treasure trove of computers, documents, cell phones and other valuable "pocket litter."

Once in custody, KSM is defiant.  He refuses to answer questions, informing his captors that he will tell them everything when he gets to America and sees his lawyer. But KSM is not taken to America to see a lawyer Instead he is taken to a secret CIA "black site" in an undisclosed location.

Upon arrival, KSM finds himself in the complete control of Americans.  He does not know where he is, how long he will be there, or what his fate will be.

Despite his circumstances, KSM still refuses to talk.  He spews contempt at his interrogators, telling them Americans are weak, lack resilience, and are unable to do what is necessary to prevent the terrorists from succeeding in their goals.  He has trained to resist interrogation.  When he is asked for information about future attacks, he tells his questioners scornfully: "Soon, you will know."

It becomes clear he will not reveal the information using traditional interrogation techniques. So he undergoes a series of "enhanced interrogation techniques" approved for use only on  the most high-value detainees. The techniques include waterboarding.
His resistance is described by one senior American official as "superhuman." Eventually, however,  the techniques work, and KSM becomes cooperative-for reasons that will be described later in this book.

He begins telling his CIA de-briefers about active al Qaeda plots to launch attacks against the United States and other Western targets.  He holds classes for CIA officials, using a chalkboard to draw a picture of al Qaeda's operating structure, financing, communications, and logistics.  He identifies al Qaeda travel routes and safe havens, and helps intelligence officers make sense of documents and computer records seized in terrorist raids.  He identifies voices in intercepted telephone calls, and helps officials understand the meaning of coded terrorist communications.  He provides information that helps our intelligence community capture other high-ranking terrorists, KSM's questioning, and that of other captured terrorists, produces more than 6,000 intelligence reports, which are shared across the intelligence community, as well as with our allies across the world.

In one of these reports, KSM describes in detail the revisions he made to his failed 1994-1995 plan known as the "Bojinka plot" to blow up a dozen airplanes carrying some 4,000 passengers over the Pacific Ocean .
Years later, an observant CIA officer notices the activities of a cell being followed by British authorities appear to match KSM's description of his  plans for a Bojinka-style attack.

In an operation that involves unprecedented intelligence cooperation between our countries, British officials proceed to unravel the plot. 

On the night of Aug.9, 2006 they launch a series of raids in a northeast London suburb that lead to the arrest of two dozen al Qaeda terrorist suspects.  They find a USB thumb-drive in the pocket of one of the men with security details for Heathrow airport, and information on seven trans-Atlantic flights that were scheduled to take off within hours of each other:

• United Airlines Flight 931 to San Francisco departing at 2:15 p.m.;
• Air Canada Flight 849 to Toronto departing at 3:00  p.m.;
• Air Canada Flight 865 to Montreal departing at 3:15  p.m.;
• United Airlines Flight  959 to Chicago departing  at  3:40 p.m.;
• United Airlines Flight  925 to Washington departing at 4:20 p.m.;
• American Airlines  Flight 131 to New York departing at 4:35 p.m;
• American  Airlines Flight 91 to Chicago departing at 4:50 p.m.
   
  They seize bomb-making equipment and hydrogen peroxide to make liquid explosives.  And they find the chilling martyrdom videos the suicide bombers had prepared.

Today, if you asked an average person on the street what they know about the 2006 airlines plot, most would not be able to tell you much.

Few Americans are aware of the fact al Qaeda had planned to mark the fifth anniversary of 9/11 with an attack of similar scope and magnitude.

And still fewer realize the terrorists' true intentions in this plot were uncovered thanks to critical information obtained through the interrogation of the man who conceived it: Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

This is only one of the many attacks stopped with the help of the CIA interrogation program established by the Bush Administration in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001 , terrorist attacks.

In addition to helping break up these specific terrorist cells and plots, CIA questioning provided our intelligence community with an unparalleled body of information about al Qaeda Until  the program was temporarily suspended in 2006, intelligence officials say, well over half of the information our government had about al Qaeda-how it operates, how it moves money, how it communicates, how it recruits operatives, how it picks  targets, how it plans and carries out attacks-came from the  interrogation of terrorists in CIA custody.

Former CIA Director George Tenet has declared: "I know this program has saved lives.  I know we've disrupted plots.  I know this program alone is worth more than what the FBI, the Central Intelligence Agency, and the National Security Agency put together have been able to tell us." 

Former CIA Director Mike Hayden has said:  "The facts of the case are that the use of these techniques against these terrorists made us safer.  It really did work." 

Even Barack Obama's Director of National Intelligence, Dennis Blair, has acknowledged:  "High-value information came from interrogations in which those methods were used and provided a deeper understanding of the al Qaeda organization that was attacking this country."

Leon Panetta, Obama's CIA Director, has said:  "Important information
was gathered from these detainees.  It provided information that was
acted upon."

And John Brennan, Obama's Homeland Security Advisor, when asked in an interview if enhanced-interrogation  techniques were necessary to keep America safe, replied : "Would the U.S. be handicapped if the CIA was not, in fact, able to carry out these types of detention and debriefing activities?  I would say yes." 

The Progressive Reactionarism of the Postmodern Left

The absurdity of the postmodern left is that it is a chimera crossbred of contradictions mixing together technocracy and environmentalism. Hunting through the trash for discarded food and triumphantly blogging about it on a 500 dollar device. Big government projects and making your own shoes. Stand up to the man and tell him to appoint more bureaucrats. Read Dawkins and then blog about visiting a Middle Eastern mosque. Reject materialism in the latest carefully branded 200 dollar shoes made from recycled rubber tires.  

If the old left at least had something resembling rational project, the postmodern left has its broken vestiges, dressed up in directionless rage, superstition, anti-materialism and primitivism. The end result of this progressive reactionarism isn't just ugly, it's unsustainable.

The contradictions between the left's big government ambitions and its destruction of everything that makes it work dooms the whole project to a meltdown. The Soviet Union was run by vicious thugs who understood that you needed a massive industrial and agricultural base to build the socialist future. But today's left is completely uninterested in such things. Like lunatic dot com pioneers, they don't bother with revenue streams or business models, just plans and proposals. Ideological compliance matters. Functionality isn't even a blip on the radar.

As hopelessly stupid as many of the Bolsheviks were, they understood that something had to come after seizing the property of the rich. The modern left just assumes that the property of rich is an infinite commodity that can be seized and will still always be there. Not enough money? Raise taxes. Still not enough money? Raise more taxes. And then get ready to move your own money to another tax shelter. Their anti-materialism is more like a hypocritical ignorance of their own material realities. Socialism for them is not a material act, but a spiritual one. To make it work, you must have faith in hope and change.

In a recent interview with prominent TV journalist Christiane Amanpour, who never misses an opportunity to promote repellent moral relativism about fundamentalist Islam, Middle East analyst Marwan Muasher declared, "The Muslim Brotherhood has been used for a long time as a scare tactic" (emphasis added). This eyebrow-raising dismissal of legitimate concerns about the world's largest Islamist movement went unchallenged by Amanpour - no surprise there - although Muasher did weakly concede this: "that is not to say they don't have designs."

 

"Designs" indeed. Nothing less ambitious than the downfall of the West and the establishment of a medieval dystopia known as the worldwide caliphate. Is it a mere scare tactic to point out that internal Brotherhood documents themselves reveal that the "elimination of Western civilization" is the Muslim Brotherhood's endgamel? Or that the Brothers' motto is: "Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. Qur'an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope"?

JERUSALEM - A Palestinian Authority investigation last week has accused one of its own top leaders of funneling money to al-Qaida-linked groups in the Gaza Strip.

WND first reported in 2008, quoting informed Mideast security officials, that Mahmoud Dahlan, had been providing financial support to al-Qaida allies in the Gaza Strip, including some of the most radical Islamist organizations in the territory.

 

Dahlan, a leader in PA President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah party, coordinates security closely with the U.S. His security agencies have been the direct recipient of over $300 million in U.S. financial aid and scores of U.S. weapons transfers for over a decade.

Also, the U.S. has provided training for Dahlan's forces since the early 1990s.

Huffington Post rejects an Inconveniently Truthful blog on Gaza and Hamas by American Jewish Commitee's David Harris

In a move unprecedented during David Harris' two-year stint as a blogger at The Huffington Post, which invited him to blog, his latest post which you can read in its entirety here, was rejected as "not for us." David Harris is the Executive Director of the American Jewish Committee and has published more than 50 blogs at HuffPo.

What about his latest blog could have been "not for" HuffPo?  His piece notes the egregious comparisons advanced to analogize the forthcoming "Gaza Flotilla" which will include Pulitzer Prize winning author of The Color Purple, Alice Walker, among its obesrver-passengers, to the 1963 civil rights Freedom Riders.  Could it be that Mr. Harris' accurate depiction of Hamas, is "not for" HuffPo?

I have long believed that women have one of the most important roles to play in defeating Islamism.  Not only do Western women have the most to lose if Western society were to fall to Islamism, but Islamic women have the most to gain by "sabotaging (Islam's) miserable house by their own hands."  The Muslim Brotherhood isn't the only team that can play this game!

In this new age of the internet, Muslim women have an ability to communicate and organize as never before.  Formerly restricted to their homes and prevented from communicating with men who were not family members by Islamic culture, Muslim women can now communicate electronically with men and women all around the world.  While Western men may be viewed with suspicion by Muslim women, these women can now see the freedoms that Western women enjoy with their own two eyes and talk with these women and each other about the injustices being imposed on Muslim women.

Recently, Saudi Arabian women took to the streets en masse to violate the country's laws against women driving ( see http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/06/17/saudi-arabia-women-drive_n_878884.html ), but this is only the tip of the iceberg.  Throughout the Islamic world, Muslim women are longing for the freedoms of Western women, regardless of whether those freedoms violate Islamic law and the Koran.  If these women can discredit any part of the Koran, the spell of the Koran, which is viewed as the perfect and immutable word of Allah himself, will be broken.  And this in itself is enough to shatter the stranglehold Islam has on Muslims.

The heart of this conflict is exposed in the article below.  Just as significant as the article itself is the fact that I found it on Muslim Women News.  There is Islamic justice, and there is REAL justice, and Muslim women recognize when Islamic justice is a real injustice.

BEIRUT: A draft law to protect women from domestic violence is a Western idea designed to dismantle the Muslim family, rather than improve women's status in the country, a statement released by Lebanon's highest Sunni body said Thursday.

"[The draft law] was presented not to improve women's status, but rather to break up the family similar to Western ways which are foreign to our society and values," the statement from Dar al-Fatwa said following a meeting between the Grand Mufti of the Republic Sheikh Mohammad Rashid Kabbani and other high level Sunni Sheikhs.

The draft law, which was written by activists and is still being discussed in a special parliamentary committee, has sparked heavy debate, with officials such as Sports and Youth Minister Faisal Karami describing it as a blow to family values.

In his surrender speech to the nation President Obama said, "We will work with the Pakistani government to root out the cancer of violent extremism, and we will insist that it keep its commitments." That was a lie to the American people and he knew it. He has been briefed that the Taliban and al Qaeda are being sheltered in Pakistan with the approval of the local government and security forces. Barack Obama is reminiscent of simpleton Chauncey Gardiner

"Which past leader does Barack Obama most closely resemble? His admirers, not all of them liberals, used to compare him to Abraham Lincoln and Franklin Roosevelt. Well, Obama announced his candidacy in Lincoln's hometown two days before Abe's birthday, and he did expand the size and scope of government. But no one seriously compares him with Lincoln or FDR anymore. Conservative critics have taken to comparing him, as you might imagine, to Jimmy Carter. ... But there is another comparison I think more appropriate for a president who, according to one of his foreign-policy staffers, prefers to 'lead from behind.' The man I have in mind is Chauncey Gardiner, the character played by Peter Sellers in the 1979 movie 'Being There.' As you may remember, Gardiner is a clueless gardener who is mistaken for a Washington eminence and becomes a presidential adviser. Asked if you can stimulate growth through temporary incentives, Gardiner says, 'As long as the roots are not severed, all is well and all will be well in the garden.' 'First comes the spring and summer,' he explains, 'but then we have fall and winter. And then we get spring and summer again.' The president is awed as Gardiner sums up, 'There will be growth in the spring.' Kind of reminds you of Barack Obama's approach to the federal budget, doesn't it? In preparing his February budget, Obama totally ignored the recommendations of his own fiscal commission headed by Erskine Bowles and Alan Simpson. Others noticed: The Senate rejected the initial budget by a vote of 97-0. Then, speaking in April at George Washington University, Obama said he was presenting a new budget with $4 trillion in long-term spending cuts. But there were no specifics. Congressional Budget Office Director Douglas Elmendorf was asked last week if the CBO had prepared estimates of this budget. 'We don't estimate speeches,' Elmendorf, a Democrat, explained. 'We need much more specificity than was provided in that speech for us to do our analysis.' Evidently 'first we have the spring and summer' was not enough." --political analyst Michael Barone

In regard to BHO's plan to retreat, we will stand on the side of the strategic and tactical wisdom of all those in leadership positions, from Army and Marine commanders on the ground, to General Petraeus. 'We're stupid,' they'd cry out to the British. 'Please rule us and make us do what you think is best!' But the British kept refusing, saying, 'No, you guys are doing okay by yourselves. We want you to have the freedom to run your own lives.' It was this laissez-faire attitude that led to the Boston Massacre, in which five people died of heart attacks in Boston from eating fatty foods a proper government would never have let them eat in the first place. Finally the colonists had enough of not being bossed around and decided if the British weren't going to provide them the all-encompassing government they wanted, they had to make it themselves. They started by throwing tea into the Boston Harbor since they determined it had too much caffeine and people shouldn't have been allowed to drink it. Then they formed militias to collect more taxes from the colonists to spend on welfare and government works projects. The British tried to strike back by ending regulations and giving tax rebates, but the colonists were now ready to fight to make sure some large entity would tell them what to do. Pennsylvania enacts vital reforms to shore up unemployment compensation system

Over the past month, we kept you updated on Citizens to Protect PA Jobs' efforts to reform Pennsylvania's Unemployment Compensation system - and today we have good news to report.

Thanks to your grassroots efforts, the state legislature passed - and Gov. Tom Corbett signed- a new law that will begin to stabilize the UC system.

The new law (Act 6 of 2011) brings fairness and cost-controls to the UC system and even extends federal unemployment compensation benefits to 45,000 jobless Pennsylvanians. It also makes important changes that will slow the growth of the system, which is flat broke and has borrowed nearly $4 billion from the federal government.

This law is an important first step toward fixing the UC system's insolvency mess, which is a threat to every Pennsylvania taxpayer, as well as Pennsylvania's job creators and future economic growth.

Specifically, the compromise bill:

• Helps control cost by creating a more fair "week of work for week of benefits" provision that changes the old standard of allowing 26 full weeks of benefits after only 18 weeks of work. This will save $50 million alone.
• Requires claimants to prove they're searching for a job during the time they're receiving UC benefits, accelerating a quicker return to the workforce.
• Establishes up to a 40 percent offset for severance to prevent some claimants from being able to collect severance pay and UC benefits at the same time.
• Allows employers and employees to negotiate reduced hours through work-sharing programs to avoid layoffs and further control UC costs, as 21 other states have done to assist job creators and workers during difficult economic times.

All told, these cost-containment reforms will save the system up to $133 million annually.

The collective voice of the Citizens to Protect PA Jobs made this important victory possible - but there is still much work to be done to fully restore the UC system to solvency and pay off the massive debt to the federal government.

In the future, we'll alert you to our continued efforts to push for additional measures that will fix these problems - and ensure that the UC system is there for people who are out of work through no fault of their own.

Attorney General Eric Holder and his anti-gun cronies at the Justice Department are starting to realize they may be in some hot water.

But, as was to be expected, they are going to throw someone else under the bus and hope it all goes away...

After a revealing week of hearings on the horribly corrupt "Project Fast & Furious" - the BATFE's attempt to create crime in order to make themselves relevant - the head of the ATF, Kenneth Melson, is getting ready to take the fall by resigning.

I guess Eric Holder still refuses to take any responsibility and is placing all the blame on his subordinates.

As you now well know, courageous agents within the ATF have been testifying before Congress that senior leadership at both the ATF and the Justice Department forced gun shops to sell firearms to known smugglers who sold the guns to drug cartels in Mexico.
 
This disastrous plan resulted in multiple federal agents being shot and killed with weapons that were allowed to "walk" into Mexico.

And this happened even after agents working on the case warned their superiors that it would happen.

The response from ATF/Justice Department leadership?

That a few "eggs" have to be scrambled to make an omelette.

Now, in light of all this controversy, the acting director of the ATF is trying to take the fall by resigning.

But this is where it gets really shady.

Guess who his replacement is supposed to be?

A man I've been keeping my eye on for a while - Andrew Traver.

You see, Andrew Traver has been an enemy of gun owners for quite some time.

As head of the Chicago division of the ATF he has advocated nearly every gun ban you can think of.

And even some you haven't.

To give you an idea, he's been Obama's number one choice to head the agency since last year.
 
The simple fact is...

...he's worse than the guy he's replacing.

And what's more is that, because he's been the one Eric Holder wanted for quite some time to step in as the director, it is inconceivable that he was not briefed at some point on Project Fast & Furious.

They've been talking about Traver taking the helm of the BATFE for at least 6 months (that I know of).

Do you think that a guy being groomed for that position wouldn't be briefed on the agency's biggest operation?

I think you know where this is going...

While it is certainly clear that ATF leadership needs cleaning out, to replace the current director with one who is admittedly anti-gun and clearly involved in what his boss is already in trouble over...

Well, that's unacceptable in my book.

I called my Congressman and told him that replacing one leader who has no respect for my rights with another one doesn't "fix" the problem.

It's an attempt to pacify the public.

They know it, but they're hoping you don't.

Give them a call and tell them you know what the Justice Department is trying to do and you're not falling for it.

Call your Congressman at (202) 224- 3121 and tell them that the ATF needs a serious overhauling and that the Attorney General needs to be held responsible for this flagrant abuse of the law.

Make sure they know that your Second Amendment rights are more important than funding some rogue Agency Gone Wild.

I know I'm going to call everyone I know in politics and make sure this doesn't go unnoticed.

In an interview with CNN, First Lady Michelle Obama thanks the media for their "support" and "kindness."

CNN reporter: "How's the family ready for this [the election]? It's going to be quite vicious, isn't it? How do you prepare for that?"

First Lady Michelle Obama: "You know, it's ... we're ready, you know. Our children, you know, could care less about what we're doing. We work hard to do that. Fortunately, we have help from the media. I have to say this: I'm very grateful for the support and kindness that we've gotten. People have respected their privacy and in that way, I think, you know, no matter what people may feel about my husband's policies or what have you, they care about children and that's been good to see."

Chicago Anti-Gun Nut To Head ATF?

ATF acting Director Kenneth Melson has been conspiring with king corruptocrat Eric Holder to walk thousands of high caliber rifles across the border. There is no excuse for Obama to use an unthinkable tragedy/bizarre scandal to push yet another one of his far-left nominations. He is DELIBERATELY nominating Andrew Traver - a man who has demonstrated over and over again that he is anti-gun, anti-self-defense and anti-freedom.

So who exactly is Andrew Traver? He is currently special agent in charge of Chicago's ATF field division, where he has a long history of working with gun prohibitionists. He served as an advisor to the International Association for Chiefs of Police on that group's 2007 "Gun Violence Reduction Project," in cooperation with the anti-gun rights Joyce Foundation.

This project involved several high profile anti-gun-rights advocates (including Chicago Mayor Richard Daley.) Interestingly enough, there was not a single representative from the firearms community on the advisory panel.

The nomination of Andrew Traver is more proof that Barack Obama has complete disregard for the Second Amendment and the rights of firearms owners. We have serious concerns that the agency, under his leadership, will maintain any semblance of cooperation with the firearms industry, over which ATF exercises considerable control.

Traver To Ban Your Hunting Rifle?

Traver's history shows that if he's successfully nominated, there's no chance that he will work with the firearms industry. Traver helped develop the IACP/Joyce Foundation report, which recommended banning an array of modern sport-utility rifles and .50-caliber rifles used in long-range competition. The report also encouraged Congress to repeal the Tiahrt Amendment that protects sensitive trace data used by law enforcement in criminal investigations from being misused in frivolous municipal lawsuits that have consistently lost in court, and urged the adoption of restrictive gun show regulations that would effectively force them to close.

Mr. Traver appears to be joined at the hip to various gun control and gun ban efforts. The Citizens Committee, its members and supporters across the country oppose this nomination because Traver's history clear shows that he is not the right man for such an important job.

The country has once again reached its debt ceiling; we now owe more than $14.3 trillion. That's more than $46,000 for every man, woman and child in the United States. But President Obama came to Congress looking for a blank check increase of the debt ceiling. Obama's proposed budget actually calls for us to double our debt in the next ten years; no wonder the Senate voted it down 97-0.

The TSA is defending a recent controversial screening in which a 95-year-old with cancer was forced to take off her diaper for a pat down. You'd think a 95-year-old in a wheelchair wouldn't pose much of a risk, but the TSA said their team responded to the diaper 'security alarm' in a 'professional' manner according to proper procedure.
