Government To Use 'Secret Shoppers' to 'Spy' on Doctors

Secret shoppers aren't anything new. Retail stores use them regularly to gather customer service data. But what happens when the government uses them to check up on doctors across the country? Is that going too far? That's exactly what's about to happen to over 4,000 doctors in nine states.

The New York Times reports that 4,185 doctors in Florida, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia - 465 in each state - will be getting stealth calls from people posing as potential patients. The point is to see if doctors are discriminating against those with government care such as Medicare, and to decipher how long wait times are.

HERITAGE FOUNDATION SPEAKER AT JULY MEETING!

If you know the good work of the Heritage Foundation for our cause, you know it is really exciting to have Mr. Knepper as our guest speaker.

    The July 8^th meeting of the Valley Forge Patriots will be held at a new location, the Phoenixville Country Club (PCC). The PCC is located on Country Club Road approximately 2 miles south of Route 23. The room we will be using can comfortably seat over 100 people, so don't hesitate to bring friends. As at previous venues, table food service of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and beer, wine and soda will be available throughout the meeting. Food and drinks are offered at PCC member prices --- cash and credit cards accepted. There is plenty of free parking.  Dress code,   please no hats.  This meeting will be free but we would appreciate donations.

     Along with the usual agenda items, our featured speaker will be Leo Knepper of the Heritage Foundation. Leo is the PA State Director for Heritage Action and he will be speaking on "How to be an effective lobbyist/activist" His talk will cover, Heritage Action, Effective Communication and Preparing for Legislator contact. This is a very timely subject with elections coming up.  Mr. Knepper has been active in grassroots political activity for over 10 years.

Thanks to activist phone calls and public pressure, Governor Perry reluctantly called the bill to special session.  It was supposed to be voted on today by the Texas House, which originally passed it unanimously.  

This morning, Texas House Speaker Joe Straus cancelled the vote claiming enough Representatives did not show-up for vote.  Texans are calling their Reps and many were on the floor for business.  The Speaker is trying to kill the bill and has called it an "ill advised publicity stunt."  

We're not sure how upholding the Fourth Amendment, State's Rights or local assault and child sexual assault statutes amounts to a publicity stunt.  Nonetheless, call the Speaker's office and urge him to promptly bring the bill back to the floor. (There are literally 3 days left to pass it.) 

We suspect this political maneuver was arranged to give Governor Perry cover for his political campaign and simultaneously kowtow to the Feds.  (Politics, is a dirty game, indeed.)

Implementation of these borders would mean that parts of Israel would become Arab-Palestinian, regardless of a UN Hamas/Fatah mandate. 
   
 The reality is: Obama's G8 resolution and a UN mandate are one and the same - to place Israel in a most vulnerable, threatened position by September, forcing her to accept the word of terrorists. If the President were to pursue his desired course of action to fruition, the United States would be destined to collapse from within. She would never recover from the debt incurred from abandoning her position as defender of freedom in this world. 
   
 What we can do?
  
 Everyone agrees that we must do something -- but what? There are those who say that we must make demands directly to the President through the White House, and those who argue that we must demand that Congress end appropriations to Fatah/Hamas.  Unfortunately, none of the suggested strategies has been effective in stopping Obama's advance.  He has let us know that he is not going to listen.  In order to be victorious, we need a change in tactics - an effective strategy that can produce real change. 
   
 Proven Strategy 
   
 There is one strategy proven to work, and it requires a simple action from all concerned. Everyone has to make one phone call per day, every day, to achieve what Americans were able to accomplish in 2007.  
  
 In 2007, there was a push by the President to pass the "Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act." Many Americans hated the bill, so they "melted the phone lines" day after day, until Congress got the message, and the bill was not passed. The initiative was abandoned. 
  
 Now it's our time to turn up the heat - while implementing the same strategy is crucial, our challenge is far greater. The severity of the threat that that our nation faces from Obama's foreign policy towards Israel is unprecedented. It calls for nothing less than a Congressional State-of-Emergency Referendum.  
  
 Tapping into the power that Congress can exercise from the Well of the House will produce the desired result.  We must take our message to the Well, the "American People's Soap Box," so that our Representatives can make our case directly to the citizens of this great nation. 
   
 We urge every single member of our coalition to first call Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, 202-225-5021 or 305-668-2285, and request: "As an informed citizen, I ask Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, a high-ranking member of the House of Representatives, to read the following statement daily from the Well of the House until she receives a reply:

1. The Cut, Cap, and Balance Strategy

There is a lot of handwringing out there about how to actually implement the Cut, Cap, and Balance Pledge.

First, let me say that you should take the pledge and every Republican in Washington should sign on to the pledge.

Second, the strategy is very, very simple. Refuse to vote to raise the debt ceiling until we have cut, capped, and balanced.

Yes, I know to people in Washington this sounds willfully naive. In Washington, things are done through a series of compromises. In Washington, people give and take and get things done.

But if we believe the rhetoric that we are in a terrible crisis, then the best option should be to do nothing - either extract major cuts, cap spending, and get a balanced budget amendment, or do not raise the debt ceiling.

The conservative strategy should be clear on this - hold the freaking line.

2. Dirty Spending Secrets

How bad is Washington spending? Well, there is a new website that's up called Dirty Spending Secrets with a Q&A format to uncover some of Washington's dirtiest spending secrets.

Several friends of mine have emailed it to me. It's actually pretty easy to figure out, but also horribly shocking - in the Q&A multiple choice, just go for the worst answer and you'll probably be right.

With the debt ceiling vote coming up, it's just another reminder of how unserious Washington is when it comes to spending.

3. Why Did Obama Open the Strategic Petroleum Reserve?

On Thursday, the Department of Energy announced a release of thirty million barrels of crude oil over the next 60 days from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, the nation's stockpile supposedly set aside for emergency supply disruptions.

Upon hearing the news, my first question was "What's the emergency?" Crude oil prices have been falling recently. The market abruptly fell 5%, which will affect gasoline prices in the short term, but the futures market is less convinced that the impact is permanent. (We noted last week, before the release, that the futures premium 6-12 months out was $2 to $3; now it is $4 to $5, all the better for the Koch Brothers.)

I concluded that the President's goal is a bump in the polls, but that the effect would be short-lived. Most in the media concluded the same.

But then I reread the DOE press release: "... the U.S. and its partners in the International Energy Agency have decided ... ." Ach so. Our International President strikes again. Ceding control of a uniquely American asset to an international body is troubling, but par for the course in the Obama Administration.

4. Jim DeMint Brings His A Game To the Debt Vote

Finally. Conservatives are starting to fire up on the Cut, Cap, and Balance pledge and are deciding they must hold people accountable.

Senator Jim DeMint appears to be one of them. He tells ABC News that "It would be the most toxic vote" for Republicans.

Now, he's not saying necessarily that he is going to challenge them, but there are growing hints that he might. I, for one, hope he will.

Within the past few months DHS/ICE has exempted a multitude of groups from deportation (Haitians, Libyans, students who would be eligible for the defeated DREAM act, illegals who have signed up for the military, the illegal aliens who are family members of those serving in the military, nursing/pregnant women, mentally ill illegal aliens, etc.). 

Without doubt, we are witnessing abuse of power by this administration via DOJ/DHS/ICE usurping Congress' powers and, unilaterally, initiating a de facto/stealth amnesty.  Aside from granting amnesty to an estimated 30+ million illegal aliens these mandates are yet another venue to further erode our representative form of government thereby rendering Congress impotent.

I urge every person (including those on your distribution list) to immediately contact your representatives and demand (not ask): our immigration laws be enforced by this administration; EOs granting amnesty to various groups be terminated; and, that those we elect to represent us commence performing the duties we pay them to do, the same included in their sworn oath of office.

Dutch right-wing politician Geert Wilders of the Freedom Party talks to the media in Amsterdam on Thursday. A Dutch court him of charges of inciting hatred against Muslims, in a case that tested freedom of speech in the traditionally liberal country.

  

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands - The boundaries of free speech in Europe widened Thursday after a Dutch court acquitted politician Geert Wilders of inciting hatred against Muslims when he compared Islam with Naziism and called for a ban on the Quran.

Political analysts say the ruling will likely embolden Wilders and other right-wing populists across the continent to ramp up their anti-immigrant rhetoric, with remarks like Wilders' call for a "head rag tax" now squarely within the boundaries of fair political debate.

The ruling did lay down a clear limit: Calls for violence remain out of bounds. Wilders, who has lived under constant police protection due to death threats since 2004, has never called for violence or endorsed it.

Isn't it amazing how it appears that the friends, family, and mosque leaders of terrorists never seem to know what the terrorist was up to?  According to their testimony in this case, one would never suspect that the perpetrator had previously been convicted of TWO felonies.  It couldn't possibly be that they're using Taqiyya and lying to us...could it?

I mean his appearance, pictured below, offers no clues at all of extremism...right?  Kind of interesting that he was openly searching for a second wife, though, right here in the United States.  Last I heard, that's illegal (at least according to American law), but his friends, family, and Mosque might not realize this.  They might also not realize that it is considered terrorism to kill people, even if they ARE members of the "kaffir army" -- that is, the army of the unbelievers known as the U.S. military.

SEATAC, Wash. - One of two men charged with planning to attack a Seattle military recruiting station was proud to be American, according to his wife, while videos apparently posted by him on YouTube show a man sympathetic to al-Qaida's leader in Yemen and passionate about a radical interpretation of Islam.

Abu Khalid Abdul-Latif has a criminal background, but allegations that he plotted a terrorist attack surprised those who knew him.

"He never spoke to anybody," Aziz Junejo, a spokesman for the SeaTac mosque, said Friday as he pointed to the spot where Abdul-Latif often sat. "He was sort of anti-social in that sense. It was completely a shock to us."

Many of you have heard by now of the partnership that Delta entered into with Saudi Arabia.  Letters have been written to both the airline and a board member asking about the policy restricting Jews and citizens of Israel from flying into SA on Delta. Of course, there are other restrictions on all women and dress codes.  All responses to the letters place the issues back on the policies of SA and not Delta.   

I'm a conservative, firm believer in our founding, capitalist, freemarketeer.  Delta has a right to do what it believes is good for its business without regard to morals or ethics.  BUT, they must also realize that in a freemarket their fortunes are at the mercy of that market and what that market perceives Delta is as a company.

I've already expressed my disdain with Delta and will not be flying with them till this policy is reversed.  I hope you'll help get this word out and consider a similar boycott.   The article below is from Hot Air. Com.  I've kept the links embedded.

Delta airlines no longer allowing Jewish passengers on flights to Saudi Arabia?

Delta Airlines, in its new alliance with Saudi Arabian Airlines, might wind up making a bargain shocking Jews and Christians - no Jews, no Bibles on board to the desert kingdom.

 

Delta doesn't currently fly to Saudi Arabia, but next year it will have a new code-sharing agreement with the Saudi airlines through the SkyTeam network. That means folks may be booking through Delta but still flying a Saudi airline...

 

Jewish leader Rabbi Irwin Kula was wary about inflaming concerns on this, saying he knows many Jewish professionals who are very open about their religious identity who fly to Saudi Arabia all the time for business.

This is too clever by far. Evidently 120,000 settlers would be outside the borders of Israel (this includes Maaleh Adumin and Ariel). The settlers in them would have the "the option of relocating across the lines in pre-1967 Israel or remaining on the West Bank under sovereign Palestinian rule." These settlements would retain "sovereign symbols". These symbols would enable a deal to be worked out for joint sovereignty of Jeruslem.

Tomorrow marks the five-year anniversary of the Hamas raid into Israel in which Gilad Shalit was wounded and then dragged through a tunnel into the Gaza Strip, where he remains in captivity to this day. To mark the occasion, 12 prominent "human rights" organizations, including Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and B'Tselem, have issued a joint statement.

If a better example of the utter moral collapse of the human rights community exists, it would be hard to find. The statement is one of passionless brevity - just a few sentences long - and expresses no opinion on the standing of Hamas, or on its 2006 raid into Israel, or on the legitimacy of its goals and methods. Remarkably, it doesn't even demand the release of Gilad Shalit. The most that this allegedly courageous and principled human rights community could bring itself to say to the terrorists of Hamas...

That's what happened in the 1950s and 1960s and it isn't good. Then, the competition was between Egypt, Syria, and Iraq. The Egyptian foreign minister has warned Iran not to try to intervene too much in the Gulf, posing as protector of Saudi Arabia and the smaller states. Are You Ready For a World Governed by Islamic Law?

Are you ready for a world dominated by Islamic law? On July 9, the international political group Hizb ut-Tahrir will meet for the "UK Khilafah Conference" in London. During the gathering, meetings will focus upon ways in which a caliphate can be instituted. As The Blaze explained back in February, a caliphate is an Islamic state that draws its authority from, and is based upon, Sharia law.

Hizb ut-Tahrir, which stands for the "Party of Liberation" in English, is an international political organization that seeks one, unified Muslim state that is dominated by Muslim law. This particular group stands firmly planted against the United States, accusing the Super Power of colonization, among other offenses.

Additionally, the group would like to see Israel, which it deems "illegal," be dismantled. Below, you can see a graphic that the group is using to promote the conference:

Good News From Libya

The good news is that victory is all but assured in Libya. Just don't ask for whom, or how or why. Or any other questions for that matter.

Ten years ago, liberals howled in outrage when President Bush said, "Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists." They wanted a third option like remaining neutral. Or a fourth option of being with the terrorists, while still having the patriotic credibility of condemning any action against Muslim terrorists as "Un-American".

Now Hillary Clinton replied to Republican congressional critics with, "The bottom line is, whose side are you on? Are you on Qadhafi's side or are you on the side of the aspirations of the Libyan people and the international coalition that has been created to support them?"

As rousing retorts go, this sounds like it was processed through the sausage factory of bureaucracy and ended up as the conclusion to a thesis. But then it's hard to make, "You're either with the international coalition and the aspirations of the Libyan people or with the guy in the robe who was a close ally three months ago" sound snappy. That's the problem with fighting wars on behalf of a multinational philosophy that can only be summed up in polysyllabic torrents of words that don't mean anything.

 Timing is everything in politics, and the Obama White House has mastered this axiom like none other.  A motion to strike, (a win for Plaintiff Orly Taitz), was granted by the U.S. D.C. District Court in the same 24 hour news cycle Barack Obama appeared before the American people to declare a troop draw down in Afghanistan, (to send them  on the ground in Libya in September ??) thus burying a huge story of enormous constitutional merit.  The takedown and burial at sea of Osama Bin Laden "coincidentally" happened at the same time another eligibility case moved forward in May.

As Obama and his corps play the American people like a fiddle in their White House marching band, we are just learning the indefatigable Ms. Taitz, so mocked and scorned by the MSM, won her motion to enforce her Freedom of Information Act  request for Obama's records, filed  with the Social Security Administration (SSA).

Texas House Speaker, Joe Straus, delayed the vote on HB 41, amid rumors that there was no quorum and Representatives went AWOL.  

Here is the roll call proving that they had quorum:

The Speaker pulled HB 41 to, "improve on the bill" because "he didn't like it."  (That is literally what the woman in his office told me.)  

They are watering it down from TSA agents need "probable cause" to TSA agents need "reasonable suspicion" to touch your buttocks, breasts or genitals.  

The difference is that "probable cause" is a phrase used in the Fourth Amendment and Texas Constitution. "Reasonable suspicion" is a phrase that enables police officers to frisk you. 

Call the Speaker's office and tell them to support HB 41, not HCR 5 (the watered down version): 512-463-1000! (Literally, a 2 minute call.)

Metcalfe Photo ID Legislation to Disenfranchise Voter Fraud and Corruption Wins House Approval

HARRISBURG-Sponsored by House State Government Committee Majority Chairman, State Representative Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler), the Pennsylvania Voter Identification Protection Act (House Bill 934) was passed by the Pennsylvania House today. 

"Pennsylvania has a long and ongoing history of documented voter fraud- pre-dating even the frequently-forged signature of Mickey Mouse during the 1918 election to the deeply rooted and widespread influence of A.C.O.R.N. during the past several election cycles," said Metcalfe.  "Currently in Pennsylvania, it is impossible to board a commercial airplane, cash a paycheck, operate a motor vehicle or even purchase a season pass to an amusement park without displaying valid photo ID.  Guaranteeing the integrity of our state's election process deserves no less than equal protection under the law."

Modeled after Indiana's photo identification law, which was upheld as Constitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2008, Metcalfe's legislation would amend the state election code to require voters to present valid photo ID before voting.   Current Pennsylvania law requires identification for voters who appear to vote in an election district for the first time.

Expert testimony presented to the House State Government Committee earlier this spring confirmed that requiring valid photo ID at the polls, as provided for by House Bill 934, can prevent the four most widely documented types of voter fraud, including:   impersonation at the polls, fictitious registrations, double-voting and voting by illegal aliens.   Even more recently in a June 7 KQV Radio/Tribune-Review poll, 86 percent of respondents said that "voters should be required to show photo ID."

Numerous academic studies have also proven that requiring voter photo identification has had absolutely no disenfranchising impact on voter turnout for minority, poor or elderly voters.  In fact, in Indiana and Georgia, where showing valid photo ID at the polls is now law, voter turnout has increased among the elderly, minorities and Democrats.

"House Bill 934 is a commonsense safeguard that will only disenfranchise integrity-deficient individuals seeking to perpetuate fraud and corruption at the polls," said Metcalfe.   "Any elected official who opposes requiring valid photo ID at the polls needs to be asked if allowing for cheating at the ballot box is necessary for them to win."

President Obama Abuses Nation's Oil Reserves

When it comes to making bad energy policy decisions, President Obama is a pro. Yesterday was no exception when the Obama Administration announced it would release 30 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR). This is part of an agreement with the International Energy Agency (IEA) to put a total of 60 million barrels on the market in the next 30 days. Another 27 nations will make up the other half of the oil needed.

The 2011-12 budget could be signed into law within days, and a grave injustice will be committed against the taxpayers of the Commonwealth if a critical change is not made beforehand.

This budget is set to obligate Pennsylvania taxpayers to permanently sustain a standard of living for welfare recipients that had been made 'temporarily' possible by one-time Federal stimulus dollars. AFP-PA is urgently calling on the Legislature to examine this major public policy issue before voting on the budget. We strongly urge you to do the same. Click here to find your legislator. Reach out and insist that, before they cast their vote, they take a good hard look at the justification for burdening the taxpayer with nearly 30% more in state spending on Public Welfare.

It took former Governor Ed Rendell eight years to boost the taxpayer burden for Public Welfare by $2.4 Billion dollars. If the budget is passed as presented, Governor Corbett and this Legislature will accomplish an increase in the same amount, $2.4 Billion, in less than one year! When Rendell took office, the taxpayer obligation to Public Welfare was $6.1 Billion. By the time he left, the taxpayer's obligation had risen to $8.6 Billion. Governor Corbett is proposing $11.2 Billion. That's a 27% leap in state spending on welfare over last year-and the reason they is a proposed $27.3 Billion rather than a $24.9 Billion dollar budget.

Last year, $25.2 Billion dollars was spent on Public Welfare in Pennsylvania, but Pennsylvania taxpayers were only obligated for $8.8 Billion of that spending. The rest came in the form of assistance from the Federal government. Pennsylvania received $16.4 Billion from the Federal Government last year, almost $2 Billion of which were one-time stimulus funds. In fact, for each of the previous two years, Pennsylvania has received nearly $2 Billion in additional one-time Federal stimulus dollars to spend on Public Welfare. This year, however, the Feds have eliminated the stimulus funds and are offering only $14.5 Billion dollars (down from $16.4) for our welfare spending. There will be no gift to Pennsylvania's Welfare Department this year as the Federal government has run up against its debt ceiling.

The Corbett administration and Legislative leaders were confronted with a choice: return spending to the level that existed before the federal government's one-time enticement, or have the taxpayer make up the difference in order to avoid a potential conflict with the federal government and the welfare establishment. Evidently Governor Corbett and legislative leaders have decided to take the path of least resistance placing the resulting burden on the back of the taxpayer.

If this budget is passed, as presented by the Governor, the taxpayers of the Commonwealth will be obligated to bear an additional burden of $2.4 billion in welfare spending. Spread over Governor Corbett's 4 year term, the citizens will be paying an astounding $8 Billion or more if this legislation is not stopped in its tracks. That's over $8 Billion not available for meeting known state debt, or to taxpayers to spend as they so choose. It's another example of state government dramatically increasing spending when we simply don't have the money or the justification to do so. For the first time ever, the administration has decided to catapult Welfare spending ahead of K-12 education spending.

With such large amounts of money involved, the policy implications are enormous yet we have heard no debate on this issue. If there is some legitimate reason for saddling the taxpayers and future administrations with this burden, we haven't heard it. This decision is costly. This decision runs counter to the demand to cut spending. This decision, if left unchanged, will hang like an anchor around the necks of every legislator who votes for it.

Yes, we are late in the budget process, but it's not too late to make this change. This matter must be openly discussed and fairly addressed. The decisions may not be easy, but the solution is. Simply go back to the 2010-2011 State funding level as has been done with education. These are tough decisions to make, but they are right, and they are necessary.
