Quote:
"But the safety of the people of America against dangers from foreign force depends not only on their forbearing to give just causes of war to other nations, but also on their placing and continuing themselves in such a situation as not to invite hostility or insult; for it need not be observed that there are pretended as well as just causes of war."

"We have gone to the capitals of our states and to the capitals of our government. We have talked to all the power brokers. The only power broker, the only seat of government that can and will solve this problem with or without us is God. It is time to return inside the walls that surround Jerusalem and stand with people of all faiths, all around the world," Glenn said in his initial announcement.
"In August, whether I'm there with seven people or 10 people or there alone, I will stand. I ask you to join me. I also ask you to take this message globally, to take this to every corner of the earth. If you have family living overseas, this is not an America solution. This is a people of faith solution. This is a people all over the world solution. I ask you to help get this word out."

RedState Morning Briefing
For June 20, 2011
1. Are Conservatives & Conservative Organizations in D.C. Actually Feckless Wimps?
A number of conservatives and conservative groups in Washington, D.C. are pushing yet another pledge. This one is to cut, cap, and balance. They want you to pledge to urge your Senator and Congressman to oppose any debt limit unless all three of the following conditions are met: (1) substantial cuts in spending; (2) enforceable spending caps; and (3) passage of the Lee-Cornyn-Hatch Balanced Budget Amendment, known as S.J. Res. 10 in the Senate and H. J. Res. 56 in the House.
The pledge is wonderful. I fully support it. I also think any conservative and conservative organization that signs the pledge is feckless, spineless, and gutless unless one additional step is taken.
And the sad thing is, I suspect I am one thousand percent right that we'll all be disappointed by the conservatives and conservative organizations signing the pledge. Here's why. We've reached the point of no return in this country, but Republicans keep making deal after deal after deal. They'll negotiate their way to hell and our country to fiscal ruin all while nuancing around pledges.
Meanwhile, the pledge makers and pledge signer really do nothing other than say "Oh my, Senator/Representative X broke the pledge. Tisk. Tisk."
The time for tisk, tisking is over.
2. One Network, Under Secular Elitism
Just as I thought that the primary reason a father who loves golf as much I do would have to boycott NBC Sports and it's recently acquired Golf Channel is the inundation of frigging Viagra (and similar) commercials, the geniuses at NBC decided to use their considerable wisdom and virtue to edit the Pledge of Allegiance for the rest of us, for they consider us dupes.
This morning, before the final round of the United States Open - a Father's Day tradition for golfers in this country and beyond, and arguably the most grueling test of golf in the world - NBC produced one of those little lead-in montages... You see, the Open is being played at historic Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, right outside of Washington, DC, and the montage was a little patriotic deal showing pictures along with clips of kids reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Only - the fine producers at NBC decided that it would be much better for the viewers not to be subjected to the phrase "under God," not once - but twice.
3. Rick Perry's Scandalous Skeletons Come Out of the Closet
Every Republican Presidential candidates is a closet homosexual who engages in mass orgies with women and boys while keeping multiple mistresses on the side hidden from their wives all while funneling highway contracts to their best friends for a kickback.
Every Republican is like that if you believe those candidates' opponents within the Republican Party.
Rarely do these rumors ever actually become true.
4. On Jon Huntsman: See, I Told You So
My objection to Jon Huntsman remains simple: while serving at the pleasure of the President of the United States, he began plotting against the President of the United States. It matters not who the President is. It matters that the man was disloyal to his President while serving as his mouth piece to our biggest strategic adversary in the world.
Many people responded to my objection by saying, "he never campaigned or did anything to start campaigning while serving the President." This statement is made in direct contravention to the public facts and record.
And now even the Los Angeles Times concedes that I was right.
5. We May Or May Not Be 'Ultraconservative,' But We Certainly Didn't Call the SBA Pledge 'Ridiculous'
In calling the Susan B. Anthony List's pro-life pledge "a mess", the Washington Post's Jenn Rubin seeks to use "ultraconservative" RedState to prove that even those icky social conservative sites dislike the pledge.
It is not only inaccurate to say that, it is absolutely journalistic malpractice for which I insist upon a correction.
6. ThinkProgress and Lee Fang vs the Evil Koch Brothers
While I claim no expertise, I do have a general understanding of how the oil market works, which is more than can be said for ThinkProgress "investigative journalist" Lee Fang. A series of articles (notably here and here) has convinced the so-called Progressive community that Fang has blown the lid off a Koch Brothers conspiracy to control oil markets via speculation.
For Mr. Fang, the Koch Brothers' "Contango Strategy" is the smoking gun. A contango market allows the owner of oil storage to score low-risk profits of several dollars per barrel. The Kochs capitalized on such a situation back in late 2008/early 2009. But Fang repeatedly fails to explain how commodities futures trading drives the market price of the commodity.
To better understand how the market works, let's take a closer look at this strange term, contango.
7. Union Targets Target and Misses
The United Food & Commercial Workers, following years of failed efforts at unionized mega-retailer Wal-Mart, grocer Whole Foods and seeing some of its unionized employers like A&P file for bankruptcy, had set its sights on a new target: Target.
On Friday, the National Labor Relations Board conducted a secret-ballot election in Valley Stream, NY at one of Target's approximately 1750 U.S. stores. If the union won, it would have been the first-ever unionized Target in the nation. Ultimately, the union failed.
After the employees cast their secret ballot and the NLRB counted the ballots, the union lost 137-85. The union, of course, is displeased with the employees choice and is blaming the retailer for its loss. |

Deliberately misconstrue the meaning of the movie The Stepford Wives (the 1975 version, preferably, but the 2004 if you must).
"You're telling me the ending was supposed to be shocking? No way, man. That film is a utopian fantasy. The wives are happy-they get to wear pretty dresses and bake nice cakes, like all women secretly want to do. The husbands are happy. What's not to like?"
Quote Rush Limbaugh:
"Liberalism is hideous. It is the antithesis of being pro-human. It looks at life as a burden in and of itself to be managed, rather than as a blessing to be explored and lived to the fullest."
Global Warming Fun.
NO. 7. On a beautiful hot summer's day, invite a liberal to crack open a can or two of ice cold beer by the pool. Say: "Run that Cap and Trade thing by me one more time because there's something I don't get. You guys are saying that we need to raise taxes and make energy more expensive so we can get less weather like this?"

Fellow patriots,
Well, it looks like the realities of Islam are finally penetrating past the lure of novelty that blinded people who didn't know any better to Islam's dark side: Islam has completely fallen off the "fastest growing religion" pedestal. Check out the numbers below and see for yourself.
While Islam is still growing, it's growth rate is largely powered by the higher fertility rate of Muslim women instead of conversions, which take place at about 1/3 of the rate of conversions to Christianity. Even better news is that the fertility rate of Muslim women is in rapid decline.
In other words, the "long war" we find ourselves in with Islam has a light shining at the end of the tunnel. There's still a lot of work to do to defend the freedoms we Westerners cherish, but there are important factors in this war that put time on our side.
Therefore, NOW to put an end to the Islamist's favorite sound bite, that "Islam is the world's fastest growing religion." The sound bite we will replace it with is, "Islam is NO LONGER the world's fastest growing religion, because people are finding out what Islam really is: oppression."

Why Is Weiner's Muslim Brotherhood Wife Not Resigning?
Posted By Arnold Ahlert On June 17, 2011
Anthony Weiner resigned yesterday, unable to withstand the relentless pressure put on him for his sexting extravaganzas. Yet if an article written by former PLO terrorist-turned-Christian and Israel supporter Walid Shoebat (along with KTEM radio host Ben Barrack) is any indication, it may very well be that the wrong member of the family resigned. According to Arabic sources translated by Mr. Shoebat, Huma Abedin's mother and brother are both associated with the Muslim Brotherhood.
Ms. Abedin's mother, Saleha Mahmoud Abdeen, is reportedly part of a special woman's unit known as the Muslim Sisterhood or the International Women's Organization (IWO) which, according to a counter-terrorism report obtained by the Terrorism Committee of the National Association of Chiefs of Police, operates within the Brotherhood in Egypt and possibly other Arab nations as well. The Egyptian newspaper Al-Dostor confirms that the Sisterhood includes 63 international members in 16 different countries.
The group is being portrayed by Western media in a benign fashion, as noted in Der Spiegel and on its Facebook page. But a report by the Egyptian opposition newspaper Al-Liwa Al-Arabi paints a far more ominous picture. It reveals that these women, who are "the wives of some of the highest-ranking leaders in the Muslim Brotherhood" are being recruited to:
[S]muggle secret documents for the members since women go undetected by security surveillance...to spread the Brotherhood's ideology by infiltrating universities, schools and homes...to lay the plans for the Sisterhood to work at the state level...[and]...to fulfill the interests of the Brotherhood and also to benefit from international women's conferences and unify all efforts to benefit the Brotherhood globally.
Furthermore, the Sisterhood's mission includes:
[O]rganiz[ing] projects which will penetrate its prohibited ideology into the decision making in the West and in an indirect way under the guise of "general needs of women"...through the university and the state capitals and institutions and is done in accordance to the project Al-Islam Huwa Al-Hal (Islam is the solution).
The newspaper then lists the names of the women who belong to the organization on a country-by-country basis. There are a dozen members of the Sisterhood from Saudi Arabia. Saleha Mahmoud Abdeen (Abedin) is one of them.

WASHINGTON - A U.S. congressional delegation was kicked out of Iraq after the leader of the group, U.S. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., asked Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki if a portion of future oil revenues could be used to pay back the United States for money spent over the course of eight years following the 2003 U.S. invasion to oust Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.
The ouster came amid efforts by U.S. officials to get al-Maliki to request an extension of U.S. troops in Iraq past the Dec. 31 deadline when all U.S. troops are supposed to be out of the country.

Soldiers in China's People's Liberation Army are training for a possible future conflict through the assistance of a video game featuring U. S. soldiers as the enemy.
A report by China's CCTV television shows PLA officers in front of screens that have M16-wielding soldiers and Apache gunships as potential targets.
Retired military veteran Bill Watkins sees something ominous in the PLA producing a game with American targets.

For many Americans, poverty is hidden from view, and its reality is conveniently tucked out of sight and out of mind in places like inner cities or across rural landscapes. The effects of poverty, though, are all too real for those suffering in the shadows.

Fellow Patriots,
"The Center for American Progress" -- sounds like motherhood and apple pie, right? Read the article below from its website and witness some of the most audacious anti-American and Anti-Western propaganda ever spoken, with a completely straight face and without any critical inquiry from the interviewer. Also notice that Muhammed Malik, the "young Muslim American voice" being interviewed in this series, has worked for both CAIR and the ACLU -- strong platforms from which to project his propaganda and make sure that Shariah will find a safe harbor in the American legal system.

You won't believe what Obama's DoD nominee tried to do to CIA
Once proposed letting Congress do random reviews of this work
Posted: June 17, 2011 12:45 am Eastern
By Aaron Klein © 2011 WND
CIA Director Leon Panetta, President Obama's nominee for secretary of defense, once proposed allowing Congress to conduct spot checks at its discretion of the country's sensitive intelligence agency.
In 1987, Panetta, then a California congressman, introduced the CIA Accountability Act, which would have made the CIA subject to audits by the General Accounting Office, the investigative arm of Congress.
Panetta's legislation would have allowed the comptroller general, who directs the GAO, to audit any financial transactions of the CIA and evaluate all of the agency's activities either at his own initiative or at the request of the congressional intelligence committees.
The CIA is the only government agency that contests the authority of the comptroller general to audit its activities, citing the covert aspects of its operations.

Project Gunrunner: Gun Control the Chicago Way?
Jun 17, 2011 06:13 am | Coach Collins
By Doug Book, staff writer
We owe John Dodson a great deal of gratitude, here's why.
On March 30th, Barack Obama assured gun confiscation advocate Sarah Brady of his ongoing efforts to undermine the 2nd Amendment rights of the American people.
"I just want you to know that we are working on it," Obama told Brady during her visit at the White House. "We have to go through a few processes, but under the radar."
Of course, the meaning of "under the radar" to a skilled practitioner of "The Chicago Way" will bear little resemblance to any definition recognizable to the average individual. It will translate into operations which are corrupt, underhanded, bereft of common decency and perhaps regard for human life and most importantly, there will be an appearance of "noble intent" should the schemes be discovered.

AP uses political stunt to promote Barack Obama's re-election

The AP changes its name to All Propaganda - Ready to call 2012 election early -
On May 11, the Associated Press lost the last shred of credibility they had left by running the worst propaganda campaign of the year. They released and reported a national poll they conducted with GfK Roper Public Affairs. The AP used this political stunt to all but declare Barack Obama's re-election as a mere formality.
It was no surprise to see other so-called news sources like ABC News, Time, The Washington Post and Yahoo News among others eagerly spouting the favorable poll numbers from this fake poll without question.
GfK proudly states that the poll sample of 1,001 adults used to conduct this survey consisted of 46% Democrats and only 29% Republicans.

Just Say NO to "Big Brother's" Smart Meters

By Orlean Koehle
Most Americans have not yet heard of the "smart meters" that are being installed at a rapid pace across the state of California and across our nation. Most Americans are totally unaware that someone will soon be showing up at your home, and, without knocking, or asking for your permission, will remove your old analog meter and replace it with a new "smart meter." Is this something you would really want?
What is a smart meter? It is one that contains RF (radio frequency) so that it can be remotely controlled and read. No longer will a meter reader have to come to your home to read the meter. It will all be done remotely. When all is in place, the smart meter will not only keep track of how much electricity you are using, but it will be able to control, regulate, and ration your use of that electricity. If "big brother" decides that you are using too much heat in the winter time, or too much air conditioning in the summer time, or using too much hot water in your showers or washing machine (even if you are willing to pay for that extra usage), that use of power will be automatically turned down. A future goal is to have all appliances replaced with those containing RF chips for even more regulations and controls.

On Monday, June 20, 2011 I will introduce two bills providing school choice in Pennsylvania. The Senate has not yet passed Senate Bill 1 for our consideration in the House. Senate Bill 1 seeks to offer help to students in failing schools as well as giving vouchers to some, depending on income eligibility. However, it does neither task on the comprehensive basis that is needed to reform and improve educational opportunity in the Commonwealth. That is why I am offering the following two bills as alternatives to Senate Bill 1.
1) House Bill 1678 - The Failing Schools Student Rescue Act House Bill 1678 would offer a voucher of $5,000 to all students who attend, or live within the attendance boundary of a persistently lowest achieving school. Whereas Senate Bill 1 establishes income limits for voucher eligibility, all students attending a failing school would receive a school choice option under this legislation. After all, if the school is failing to educate students, all students are endangered regardless of family income and must be given the opportunity for a good education. A school failing in its mission is failing all kids, not just those from low income families. This bill also expands the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) to the levels passed by the House in House Bill 1330 (Quigley). In addition, Home Schooling families would be eligible for the EITC in recognition of their expenses in educating their children. Public to public school choice is also provided.
2) House Bill 1679 - Opportunity Scholarship and Educational Improvement Tax Credit Act House Bill 1679 offers a $5,000 Opportunity Scholarship to all students in the Commonwealth. It will usher in a system of true school choice. If you believe that parents are best suited to choose the most appropriate means of educating their children, then school choice opportunity should be provided to all families. This bill also includes a public to public school choice option. Like the first bill, the EITC is expanded to mirror House Bill 1330 and will also be available to Home Schooling families.

CALL TO ACTION
In response to the lack of leadership and interest in Real School Choice, Representative Schroder has introduced two pieces of legislation that are comprehensive and more equitable than SB1.
Please contact your local Representative and ask for his/her support and co-sponsorship for Representative Schroder's Educational Choice Bills (HB 1678 AND HB 1679). We have worked tirelessly as a grassroots coalition and movement to ensure fairness and equity in the school choice debate. We are pleased that Rep. Schroder has taken the lead in creating legislation that would rescue ALL children in failing schools and alternative legislation that would offer assistance to ALL children in the commonwealth. Both bills increase EITC beyond SB1 and include homeschooling students as well. If the goal of SB1 was to rescue children in failing school, SB1 gets an F.
Call your local rep and ask for their support for HB 1678 AND HB 1679.

Health Issues
June 17, 2011
Health Insurance Doesn't Mean Access to Health Care
Expansions of Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) are designed to extend access to high-quality medical care to all U.S. children. However, evidence suggests that the 37 million children covered by Medicaid-CHIP are less likely to receive specialty care than children covered by commercial insurance, say Joanna Bisgaier, M.S.W., and Karin V. Rhodes, M.D.
- Children covered by Medicaid-CHIP may face greater barriers to specialist care as a result of fewer resources within their families, including lower levels of income, education, language proficiency and health literacy.
- Another possible explanation for disparities is that specialists choose not to accept public insurance.
With the use of an experimental study design involving simulated requests for specialty care, Bisgaier and Rhodes measured real-world scheduling behavior in an urban area with a high density of medical specialists.
- The results showed significant disparities in children's access to needed outpatient specialty care, attributable to specialists' reluctance to accept public health insurance; these results held across all audited specialties.
- Moreover, even when children with Medicaid-CHIP were not denied appointments outright, the appointments were, on average, 22 days later than those obtained for privately insured children with identical health conditions.
- Notably, even callers claiming to have a privately insured child faced an average wait time of 20 days when urgently requesting an appointment.
These findings signal a need to consider refining specialty care delivery processes to more efficiently use the specialist workforce, say Bisgaier and Rhodes.

NRA-ILA GRASSROOTS ALERT Vol. 18, No. 25 06/17/11
Hearing On "Fast And Furious" Uncovers Serious Failure At BATFE
The congressional hearings held this week by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform revealed that the gun smuggling investigation known as "Fast and Furious" that was implemented out of the Phoenix Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) office was conducted in a reckless manner that led to the illegal sale of thousands of firearms. Many of those firearms ended up in the hands of Mexican drug cartels and other criminals, and may have contributed to the death of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry.
Some of the most important findings of the hearing and the investigative report compiled by the Committee staff include:
- BATFE knowingly allowed as many as 2,500 firearms to be sold illegally to known or suspected straw purchasers. One of those purchasers accounted for over 700 illegal guns.
- BATFE ordered its agents working the program not to arrest illegal gun buyers or to interdict thousands of guns that were allowed to "walk" into criminal hands.
- Senior BATFE officials in Washington were regularly briefed on the operation and approved of the tactics employed.
- BATFE agents who opposed the operation and who raised objections were told to "get with the program" and threatened with job retaliation if they continued their opposition.

And despite her advanced years, she continues to help the ageing remnants of the Nazi regime to evade justice.

Head of ATF Is Likely to Go
By EVAN PEREZ And DEVLIN BARRETT
The Justice Department is expected to oust the head of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, according to people familiar with the matter, amid a troubled federal antitrafficking operation that has grown into the agency's biggest scandal in nearly two decades.
Border Patrol agents in Arizona conduct a search of the site where an agent was killed in December.
Moves toward the replacement of Kenneth Melson, acting ATF director since April 2009, could begin next week, although the precise sequence of events remains to be decided, these people said.
The shakeup shows the extent of the political damage caused by the gun-trafficking operation called Fast and Furious, which used tactics that allowed suspected smugglers to buy large numbers of firearms. Growing controversy over the program has paralyzed a long-beleaguered agency buffeted by partisan battles. The ATF has been without a Senate-confirmed director since 2006, with both the Bush and Obama administrations unable to overcome opposition from gun-rights groups to win approval of nominees.

Mexican La Raza group receives federal funds
NCLR Funding Skyrockets After Obama Hires Its VP
A Judicial Watch investigation reveals that federal funding for a Mexican La Raza group that for years has raked in millions of taxpayer dollars has skyrocketed since one of its top officials got a job in the Obama White House.
The influential and politically-connected National Council of La Raza (NCLR) has long benefitted from Uncle Sam's largess but the group has made a killing since Obama hired its senior vice president (Cecilia Muñoz) in 2009 to be his director of intergovernmental affairs.
Ignored by the mainstream media, Judicial Watch covered the appointment because the president issued a special "ethics waiver" to bring Muñoz aboard since it violated his own lobbyist ban. At the pro illegal immigration NCLR, Muñoz supervised all legislative and advocacy activities on the state and local levels and she was heavily involved in the congressional immigration battles that took place in the George W. Bush Administration. Read more:Fri, 06/17/2011 |
Police Captain Suspended Without Pay
He refused to attend proselytizing event at Muslim Brotherhood-connected Islamic center
Sign our petition calling for his reinstatement!
Tulsa Police Captain Paul Fields was recently suspended for two weeks without pay because, according to the WorldNetDaily story below (highlights added), he refused to attend a "Law Enforcement Appreciation Day" event at the Islamic Society of Tulsa-an event that was nothing more than Islamic proselytizing.
As you read the story below, we're sure you'll feel as outraged as we are by this assault on Captain Fields' rights!
Please read and sign our petition calling for his reinstatement, and then forward it to everyone you know. Let's expose to America the unconstitutional and politically correct actions of Captain Fields' superiors!
At the appropriate time we will hand deliver the petition to the Tulsa police department. If the response to the petition is strong enough, we'll hold a rally and news conference in front of police headquarters to put the heat on them. So please sign the petition today!
If the Tulsa police department's leadership can get away with this, what's next? Requiring all government officials to attend Friday services at a local mosque?
IMAM, BASEBALL AND APPLE PIE WorldNetDaily Exclusive Policeman sues over orders to attend Islamic prayer City accused of being 'complicit' in Muslim Brotherhood jihad plan

 Chief Charles Jordan |
A Tulsa, Okla., police captain is suing his chief and the city after he was demoted and targeted by an internal investigation for refusing orders to attend an event featuring lessons in Islam, a tour and a prayer service at a mosque linked to an unindicted co-conspirator in a terror financing trial.
The legal action has been brought by attorneys with the Thomas More Law Center on behalf of Paul Fields.
Named as defendants are the city, police chief Charles W. Jordan and deputy chief Alvin Daryl Webster. WND requests for comment did not generate a response from the defendants.
The lawsuit focuses on the officer's constitutional and civil rights, and besides a resolution of Fields' concerns, it seeks an injunction preventing "enforcement of defendants' unconstitutional acts, policies, practices, procedures and/or customs."
At issue is a solicitation by officials in the Tulsa Police Department for officers to attend a "Law Enforcement Appreciation Day" organized by the Islamic Society of Tulsa. The invitation said the officers would be given tours of the mosque, meet the mosque's leadership, be given presentations of "beliefs, human rights, women" and "watch the 2-2:45 weekly congregational prayer service."

Pakistanis tip off militants at bomb-building plants
Events do not bode well for nations in mending relations after US raid that killed bin Laden
WASHINGTON - U.S. officials say Pakistan has apparently tipped off militants at two more bomb-building factories in its tribal areas, giving the terror suspects time to flee, after U.S. intelligence shared the locations with the Pakistani government.
U.S. officials believe Pakistan's insistence on seeking local tribal elders' permission before raiding the areas may have most directly contributed to the militants' flight. U.S. officials have pushed for Pakistan to keep the location of such targets secret prior to the operations, but the Pakistanis say their troops cannot enter the lawless regions without giving the locals notice.

RELIGIOUS FREEDOM? WE DON'T NEED NO STINKING RELIGIOUS FREEDOM.
Meet Obama's new appointee to promote religious freedom around the world.
Obama has announced the appointment of Azizah al-Hibri to the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom. Al-Hibri (full name, Azizah Yahia Muhammad Toufiq al-Hibri) is a Muslim professor and the granddaughter of a Sheikh, who claims that the Koran inspired Thomas Jefferson and the Founders and that the Saudi criminal justice system is more moral than the American one because it accepts blood money from murderers.
How's that for a start. But wait there's more.
In the early days of 2001, Al-Hibri traveled to the Afghan border and criticized the Western press for "sensationalizing" Taliban atrocities and using them "as an opportunity to attack Islam". After the attacks of September 11, she cautioned against bombing Al-Qaeda and Taliban targets during Ramadan. And that same year she defended Wahhabism as part of Islam's "religious diversity" and its "marketplace of ideas".
And still more...
Yet the oddest moment in Al-Hibri's career of promoting Islamic law in the United States may have come when before Clinton's impeachment proceedings, she actually wrote an article discussing how a sitting President of the United States might be tried under Islamic law.
Read it all in my article The Professor Who Sharia'ed Bill Clinton exclusively at Front Page Magazine.

OUR LONG NATIONAL NIGHTMARE IS FINALLY BEGINNING
Weiner finally resigned. The biggest losers are in the media who now have to find a replacement for Mel Gibson, Charlie Sheen and Anthony Weiner. But they'll be sure to find one. And then we'll get another two weeks of the same insanity at the same insane tabloid pitch. On and on. Week after week. Month after month. Year after year.
Arnold Ahlert asks why his wife Huma Abedin's ties to the Muslim Brotherhood aren't being investigated in a woman who stands near the center of our foreign policy. But we all know what's important. Sending images of yourself over Twitter is much worse than being tied in with an organization dedicated to overthrowing the United States.
Just ask a Europe obsessed with Berlusconi's Bunga Bunga, while men like Tony Blair (who reads the Koran daily) aren't being held accountable for importing large numbers of Muslims into the UK. Which is more of a scandal? The Bunga-Bunga or the Jihad-Jihad?
Which should be more of a national scandal?
Labour threw open Britain's borders to mass immigration to help socially engineer a "truly multicultural" country, a former Government adviser has revealed.
or
A teenage belly dancer at the heart of the sex scandal involving sleazy prime minister Silvio Berlusconi has revealed how guests were naked at his infamous bunga bunga parties.
Guess which story has actually been dominating the headlines since time immemorial? Not the one that's destroying nations.
I would love to live in a country where Weiner's attempt to ban personal information about judges from being placed on the internet was a bigger scandal than taking shirtless photos in the gym. Sadly we don't live in that country.
The country we live in
shooting a former marine in his own home and then waiting until he dies hardly makes headlines. It's not like Twitter or Facebook was involved, or anything salacious, which means it's not a news story. If only there were naked photos of someone involved in the shooting, then maybe it could get two weeks of coverage too.
A
59 year old pharmacist and disabled Air Force vet in OK city
sentenced to life in prison for defending himself and his employees against an armed gunman. That's not a story. There are no shirtless pictures. I would love to be part of a blogsphere where this story got as much attention on some of the conservative blogs that devotedly ran every Weiner development. Still we all know it's not as important.
But good news. Weiner is out. We won. And by we, I mean the Obama Administration which now has its Urban Affairs Director Adolfo Carrion in place to step into Weiner's front runner spot in the mayor's race. The Obamas once again beat the Clintons. And managed to overshadow Palin and the GOP debate. And we helped them do it.
Mission accomplished.
THE REAL BATTLE IS COMING
Obama's ratings keep on tumbling. The GOP debate had a good showing across the board. In a race where most voters are unhappy with the selection, the candidates that showed up were all credible. Ignoring Ron Paul who brought his usual "cranky and crazy" thing to the proceedings, the only down side was a dumbed down debate format.
Bachmann had a break out performance, as Cain had in the previous debate. Her ratings are up, but not enough. The Two Minute Hate directed at Gingrich has benefited mainly Romney whose ratings continue to rise.
All that means if we're still on track for the real contest between Romney and Palin. Romney's asset is that he's the establishment candidate. The safe bet for people who don't really believe in all that much or pay that much attention.
Palin has taken a page from Obama's book and is running a completely non-traditional campaign. She has already demonstrated how well she can market her image and that she can get the media to cover her, without actually making a statement to them. That's something Obama was able to do thanks to media favoritism. But Palin has done it the other way by exploiting their fixation on her.
Romney wants Palin in the race, because it solidifies him as the only candidate who can beat Palin. And Palin wants Romney to be the decisive front runner, because it allows her to make the case that she's the only one who can beat him. That way she doesn't have to contend with fellow populists like Bachmann or Cain. She can respectfully acknowledge them but argue that only she has the support to do it.
Palin has no intention of jumping in prematurely. She wants there to be a clear choice. Either Romney or her. Just as she wants the election to be a choice between Obama and her.
The showdown within the GOP between Romney and Palin will be an interesting one. Romney is the traditional candidate. Palin is the non-traditional candidate. Her victory may dramatically change the party. His won't.
Palin's best asset is sincerity. Romney's is credibility. No matter how much he's hated, he can never be destroyed like Gingrich was. Wearing his trademark smile, the look of the man who should be playing the president in a movie of the week, he looks like he belongs. And no matter what he endorses or supports, so long as he stays on track, he has a clear road ahead. Not because he can do the job, but because he sounds and looks like he can.
Remember that generic candidate who keeps beating Obama in the polls? Romney is Mr. Generic.
Probably the oddest phenomenon has been the attempt to position Pawlenty as the man to beat him. There was nothing wrong with Pawlenty's performance, he was reasonably articulate and he even has presence, but not the megawattage that the role demands. Like Santorum, he came off as earnest and decent, but not ready to be anything more than a good loser. A Republican Dukakis who will earnestly explain his position, lose and then walk away with a homily about the importance of taking defeat well.
Contrast that to the focused energy that Bachmann brought to the debate. She could not only deliver the populist lines that helped give Cain the last debate, but she also backed it up with a sharp understanding of policy. It's a performance that should make Pawlenty boosters seriously think about a candidate who can stand next to Obama at a forum and hold her own.
It's coming to the point where anyone who wants an alternative to Romney is going to have to get behind a single candidate who can beat Romney and Obama. Pawlenty's numbers don't indicate that he's that guy. Cain is a good speaker, but lacks depth. Bachmann had a good opening round, but we'll see what comes next. Palin is almost certain to make her debut sooner or later.
Barring the increasingly unlikely possibility of Gingrich or Giuliani overtaking Romney, this will be a race between Romney and the alternative. Or 5 alternatives and Romney. In which case Romney will win.
SOMEONE'S WINNING A WAR IN LIBYA
Someone's winning a war in Libya. It might be us. Or maybe it's not. Who knows. But the important thing is that the anti-war candidate has dragged the country into another war, against the laws of the country, and without any actual justification for it.
Parties have done a 180 on their rhetoric before, but rarely has it been as blatant as this. As blatant as the man who ran as the anti-war alternative to warmonger Hillary, is now doing everything he spoke out against.
1. Illegal war. Check
2. Rapidly expanding mission. Check.
3. False justification for war. Check.
4. War leading to regional instability. Check.
It's like Obama took every criticism he ever made of the War in Iraq and decided to turn it into policy.
Impact of Operation Blow Stuff Up in Libya Because We Feel Like it... not good.
The air war over Libya will ultimately cost the Air Force pilot-training hours and force the military to trim funding from lower-priority programs, the White House announced.
And right now we're spending millions to get explosives out of Libya, because we're afraid of them falling into the hands of terrorists (who absolutely don't exist in Libya). At least we're prepping for the worst.
The Republicans are once again the anti-illegal war party. This time there's more traction, since unlike Yugoslavia, this time the Dems can't hide behind genocide. Though seeing Dennis "Department of Peace" Kucinich becoming the go to guy for Republican anti-war resolutions is surreal already.
ATROCITIES AHOY
Hillary Clinton is condemning Gaddafi's forces for using rape as a weapon of war. Newsflash. Every single Muslim army that ever exists or will exist uses rape as a weapon of war. Or just uses rape. Including Obama's own beloved Indonesia. Not to mention Sudan. Or Turkey. Or that guy named Mohammed who created a peaceful religion. I forget what his last name was.
The Koran doesn't just legalize raping female captives. It uses that as incentive.
Of course any claims of atrocities emerging from the Muslim world should be taken with a grain of salt. Or a mountain of it. Assaults are no doubt happening... on both sides. Video and photos of assaults by men in uniform mean nothing in a civil war where anyone can put on a uniform and stage atrocities. The more fanciful Viagra claims are even more dubious.
For example Syrian defectors to Turkey are carrying along this little tale "When we entered the houses, we opened fire on everyone, the young, the old... Women were raped in front of their husbands and children," he said, predicting that there were some 700 deaths, although this has not been verified.
Did it actually happen? Probably not. And it also sounds identical to the reportage coming out of Libya.
And if you need a refresher course in why being skeptical of Muslim claims of atrocities is the smart thing to do, look at Yugoslavia or Gaza. Or look at Kuwait.
WASHINGTON - They spoke in voices trembling with anger and loathing. The listeners sat in rapt silence, occasionally shaking their heads at a particularly horrific detail.
In a room at the U.S. Capitol, six people who fled from Iraqi troops in Kuwait described for members of Congress inhuman atrocities they have seen and experienced as Iraqi President Saddam Hussein's forces have moved to dismantle the occupied nation and subjugate its people.
"The took the babies out of the incubators, took the incubators and left the babies on the cold floor to die," Nayirah said. "It was horrifying
That sounds horrifying. We should have a war or something to deal with this.
I volunteered at the al-Addan hospital with twelve other women who wanted to help as well. I was the youngest volunteer. The other women were from twenty to thirty years old. While I was there I saw the Iraqi soldiers come into the hospital with guns They took the babies out of the incubators, took the incubators and left the babies on the cold floor to die.[crying] It was horrifying.
Yes definitely a war. We must save the... oh wait.
What you may not know is: Nayirah's entire testimony was fabricated. Not a word was true. Nayirah was actually the daughter of Kuwait's Ambassador in Washington and she had been in her family's palatial home in Washington during the period described below. She never left the U.S. There was no vacation in Kuwait, no sister with a newborn baby, no volunteer work in a hospital.
But wait... Libya has babies too! Little tiny ones. That can only be saved with bombs and lots of aid to a new regime, which will totally promise not to bomb little tiny babies. Until they do. And then we have to bomb them to save the little tiny babies.
It's so hard to know what's true or false in the region anymore. If only we had a courageous gay female blogger to tell us about it.
COULDN'T WE JUST BOMB EVERYONE
And now the BBC reports from Libya Libyan charities say they are getting reports that in the west of the country, which is particularly conservative, Col Muammar Gaddafi's forces have tended to rape women and girls in front of their fathers and brothers.
"To be seen naked and violated is worse than death for them," says Hana Elgadi. "This is a region where women will not go out of the house without covering their face with a veil."
"Time is against us," says Nader Elhamessi from the Libyan aid agency, World for Libya
"For the moment pregnancies can be disguised, but not for much longer. Many fathers will kill their own daughters if they find out they have been raped."
Who are the victims here exactly?
We've got rapists and dead babies and fathers so demented they will kill their daughters for being raped. I can't help but think that Libya could be improved with a volcano or two.
Are we actually supposed to feel like overthrowing Kaddafi in support of a culture where people murder their own daughters for being raped is supposed to be a good thing? I don't see anyone we can save here or anything worth saving.
SPEAKING OF MUSLIM BABIES
Few subjects are more universally heartbreaking than the plight of sick children. Yet in this country babies are routinely born with terrible disabilities that could easily be avoided - if only the dangerous tradition of first cousins marrying, which still prevails in many Muslim communities, could be stamped out.
Unfortunately, others in my community cannot say the same. Many Muslims born in Britain are under intense family pressure to 'marry within', as a way of keeping money within the family. If they do not, they face being ostracised by their own relatives.
A lot of those honor killings you read about. This is what they're really about.
It's not just women being punished for wanting to choose their own husbands. They're being punished for marrying outside the family. Aside from the usual tribal stuff, marrying within the family keeps money within the family.
And the consequences? Not good.
Studies show that in Bradford, which has a large Pakistani community, 70 per cent of marriages are between relatives - and more than half of these are between first cousins.
The result of this inbreeding? Terrible disabilities like the ones I have witnessed in the children born to a woman in my own community. Her first child was born blind, the second deaf and the third mute.
As if that were not tragic enough, these disabilities are simply accepted with a casual shrug. Because everyone seems to know someone with a sick child, it is barely commented on within the community.
In the Pakistani-Muslim communities I have experience of, it is not a cause for concern. The only thing that matters is 'marrying within the family'; after that, no questions are asked.
To me, it is nothing short of shocking that this is happening in third, fourth and fifth generation British Pakistani communities.
So much for immigrant absorption changing behavior over time. It ain't happening.
Oh and the cost to British taxpayers? You do the math.
While only 3 per cent of UK babies are born to British Pakistanis, their babies account for one in three of those born with genetic illnesses.
NHS is euthanizing seniors to pay for Muslim inbreeding.
ROUNDUP OF ROUNDUPS

The winner is... America's Descent into Hell.
The stock market has gone down for the last 6 weeks in a row. And if stock futures are to be believed at all, things will not be good Monday morning this next week. The last time the stock market dropped seven weeks in a row was in 2001 when the dot.com bubble burst. I have said for a long, long time that the stock market is fiction and is being manipulated. But they are running out of ways to fake recovery and growth - they can't hide forever just how bad things are about to become. We are in free fall economically and stand to not only enter another great depression, but a great, great depression in the next twelve month
David Isaac wonders if the end is here for Middle Eastern Christians
The Economics of Settlement, George Gilder says what everyone knows but too few say anymore, (via Ruthfully Yours.)
Without Jewish settlements, Jordan was suffering heavy emigration (mostly to America and Palestine) while Palestine attracted increasing flows of immigrants, mostly clustering around the Jewish settlements. With Jewish advances in food production and in medicine and public hygiene, Arab health statistics increasingly converged with those of the Jewish settlers. While the Arab birth rate actually dropped by 10 percent, the death rate fell by one-third and infant mortality dropped 37 percent.
And the same story that is playing itself out in Europe now, played itself out in Israel.
But finally in a little slice of good news, the Ford Foundation may finally be divesting from Israel. In a good way.
With little fanfare, the Ford Foundation has initiated a phased withdrawal from its long, largely behind-the-scenes campaign to influence Israeli politics...
Looking back, Ford's directors may well feel vindicated. At the very least, Ford's outlay has helped damage Israel's security, weakened its international standing, and worsened its domestic divisions. More particularly, the fund's heavy investment in stoking a multi-layered campaign to force an Israeli withdrawal to the 1949 armistice lines-irrespective of Palestinian belligerence-does indeed seem to have gained inexorable momentum and, now, the evident backing of the Obama White House.
Will Ford-supported enterprises like the New Israel Fund be able to carry on alone after 2013?
So long as the EU keeps funding them? Probably.

Terror Scare Brings D.C. To A Halt
As I write this report, sirens are wailing outside our offices. I'm looking outside the window at miles of traffic lights and complete gridlock on major roads leading into Washington, D.C. It is very reminiscent of the morning of 9/11, when I was right next to the Pentagon as Flight 77 slammed into the nerve center of America's military might.
What is causing all the chaos is the arrest of Yonathan Melaku, a naturalized U.S. citizen, reportedly from Ethiopia. He was detained in Arlington National Cemetery after it had closed last night. According to police, he "was not very cooperative ... about what his activities were." It has also been reported that Melaku is a Muslim lance corporal in the Marine Corps Reserve.
CBS News reported that several suspicious packages were found near the Pentagon, in the Arlington National Cemetery and at the Iwo Jima Memorial. Police later searched a car parked in the bushes near a Pentagon parking lot. In the car, they found a notebook with jihadi references and what was initially believed to be explosive materials, eventually ruled inert.
Early reports indicated that authorities were looking for one or two possible accomplices. As a result of the investigation, authorities shutdown several major roads around the Pentagon.
Yesterday, we reported some disturbing information about Al Qaeda-related developments overseas. Today we know more.
- An Al Qaeda website has reportedly published a "hit list" of dozens of prominent Americans - including business executives, media figures and political leaders. The list reportedly includes very detailed and specific information. In addition, a video was released of Adam Gadahn, Al Qaeda's American-born mouthpiece, urging Muslims in the U.S. to kill Americans anywhere possible, just as Nidal Hasan did in his murderous rampage at Fort Hood. These two events have anti-terrorism experts very concerned. As Fox News reports, "Security analysts believe the two messages are related and underscore a shift in terror strategy - from top-down, mass-casualty events to smaller-scale attacks taken up, in some cases, by freelancing, lone-wolf jihadists."
- The FBI is advising major hotels in the U.S. to be on a heightened state of alert after learning about a plot to launch a Mumbai-style attack against the Ritz Carlton hotel in London. The plot was discovered after a top Al Qaeda leader, connected to the 1998 bombings of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, was killed in Somalia last weekend.
Osama bin Laden is dead, but the jihadists have not been defeated. Bin Laden's evil ideology lives on. His death-worshipping followers, who believe they are commanded by Allah to kill the infidel, are eager to bring more sorrows to our shores.
2012 Update
"I don't think we can have a nominee that was involved in the development and construction of ObamaCare and then continues to defend it... He [Romney] really laid the groundwork for Obamacare. I don't think you can prosecute the political case against President Obama if you are a co-conspirator in one of the main charges against the president... The main focus does need to be on President Obama and his failure as a president, but there's going to be some policy differences between the rest of us and bringing those out in a respectful, policy-based way, I think, is appropriate..."
"Government Role In Economy Has To Be Cut"
The Associated Press reports that the president warned Friday against the heavy hand of government and the centralization of power, saying, "This economic mode is dangerous for the country's future." The president added, "The proposition that the government is always right is manifested either in corruption or benefits to 'preferred' companies."
The president continued, "Corruption, hostility to investment, excessive government role in the economy and the excessive centralization of power are taxes on the future that we must and will scrap." The solution, the president said, was that "The government must protect the choice and property of those willing to risk their money and reputation" in the private sector.
Confused yet? Of course that was not President Obama. It may have sounded like a flashback to Ronald Reagan, but the AP was quoting Russian President Demitry Medvedev. Sadly, Russia's president seems to have a better appreciation for free enterprise and the role of limited government than our own!
