"We have gone to the capitals of our states and to the capitals of our government. We have talked to all the power brokers. The only power broker, the only seat of government that can and will solve this problem with or without us is God. It is time to return inside the walls that surround Jerusalem and stand with people of all faiths, all around the world," Glenn said in his initial announcement.
"In August, whether I'm there with seven people or 10 people or there alone, I will stand. I ask you to join me. I also ask you to take this message globally, to take this to every corner of the earth. If you have family living overseas, this is not an America solution. This is a people of faith solution. This is a people all over the world solution. I ask you to help get this word out."

RedState Morning Briefing
For June 17, 2011
1. Barack Obama Wants These People To Handle Your Healthcare
Please take just two minutes to watch this video. This video, actually a news story, tells you everything you need to know about the government and bureaucrats.
A home is destroyed by a tornado. The family receives a letter from FEMA. The government has decided this home with no roof, no windows, and few remaining walls is not sufficiently damaged to received federal funding.
And Barack Obama wants government bureaucrats to decide your healthcare fate too.
2. Time to Opt Out of the Social Security Ponzi Scheme
The Social Security Ponzi scheme is perhaps the most consequential government infringement upon our lives. Conservatives are justifiably outraged that Obama egregiously mandated that we purchase health insurance. However, the individual mandate is not nearly as meddlesome and tyrannical as the government's complete control over our retirement security. The only reason why these two programs are regarded differently by the public, is because Social Security has been around for 75 years. Consequently, most Americans are conditioned to believe that a person's retirement is indissolubly tied to government-run Social Security.
Now that Social Security is running a perennial deficit and is facing insolvency, conservatives have an opportunity to reverse one of the most flagrant violations of our property rights, by offering workers the option to opt out of the Madoff-style program.
3. Another Charming Aspect of the ObamaCare Minefield.
Beginning January 1, 2013, ObamaCare imposes a 3.8% Medicare tax on unearned income, including the sale of single family homes, townhouses, co-ops, condominiums, and even rental income.
4. Militarizing America: The Nick Kristof Plan
So often, the problem with the New York Times op-ed page is not just the left-leaning politics, but the poor quality of the contributors, despite the fact that they occupy some of the highest-paid and most-visible perches in the punditocracy. And the hallmark of poor quality punditry is the failure to think through the implications of one's arguments. So it is with today's column from Times columnist Nick Kristof.
Kristof's thesis is that the US military is actually a "socialist" institution that should be a model for our society.

Chamish: ANTHONY WEINER AND MATA HARI
June 14 2011
Barry Chamish is the long time, independent Israeli reporter of many among the million stories of intrigue and mystery, in numerous cities around the world. Go figure this one!! But come to think of it, nothing, but nothing,is out of place for Washington District of Criminals (WDC) all things considered. Though it must be said this particular affair is distinct for its unique flavor of a muddled riddle right out of a mad hatter tale of nut cases, sociopaths and cynical spies, not to mention the strange collusions of the attached Zionist Jew Congressman and the wondering Muslim wife in high places, all running amuck in some devilish misadventure. It has the makings of a very good thriller for Tom Clancy. Yes, a million stories in the naked city and here is one more. - AC
Muslim women do not marry Jewish men, unless there's a reason. President Clinton does not officiate at their wedding, unless there's a reason. And Jewish Congressmen are not publicly exposed as sexual deviants, while their wife is touring the Middle East as the senior adviser to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton without one heck of a good reason that is not being told.
Anthony Weiner is Israel's most vocal Democrat supporter in Congress:
Democratic US congressman Anthony Weiner, has made no secret in the past of his right-wing views on Israel, for example endorsing the Zionist Organization of America's opposition to the two-state solution. The key turning point was when Weiner declared, referring to the West Bank: "There's no occupation there either."
His stand on Israel awaited a change orchestrated by Pres. Obama and his loyal Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton. Just like Israelis, Americans are mostly incapable of seeing one level below the surface to understand the hatched plot. And the Weiner scandal just screams cynical high level conspiracy at anyone who cares to listen. Shall we begin with his new wife and mother-in-law? - Washington Times

Alexander's Essay - June 16, 2011
Who Needs a Father?
'It Just Takes a Village' to Raise a Child, Right?
"It is the duty of parents to maintain their children decently, and according to their circumstances; to protect them according to the dictates of prudence; and to educate them according to the suggestions of a judicious and zealous regard for their usefulness, their respectability and happiness." --James Wilson

In 1996, Hillary Rodham Clinton published "It Takes a Village: And Other Lessons Children Teach Us," in which she asserted that organizations outside the family could meet the needs of children, and that society, her euphemism for "government," has an obligation to meet those needs.
Part of Clinton's thesis was correct in that millions of children are victimized when their parents do not fulfill parental obligations. Unfortunately, the rest of her thesis suggests that parenthood can be outsourced.
Some 15 years later, Barack Hussein Obama and his socialist cadres are fast-tracking the redefinition of "marriage and family," which, in effect, perpetuates the neglect of children, thus necessitating institutional solutions.
Not surprisingly, the Left's primary mode for indoctrinating neglected children with the "village model" is government schools. "The education of all children," as Karl Marx wrote, "from the moment that they can get along without a mother's care, shall be in state institutions at state expense." (Note: He never even mentioned the "father's care.") Marx's disciple, Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, concurred: "Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted."
Obama understands that to "fundamentally transform America" into a socialist state, the Left must successfully destabilize the three pillars of Essential Liberty: Individual Liberty, Economic Liberty and Constitutional Liberty.
Founder James Wilson once described an indispensable common denominator supporting each of these pillars: "[T]hat important and respectable, though small and sometimes neglected establishment, which is denominated a family ... the principle of the community; it is that seminary, on which the commonwealth ... must ultimately depend."
If the pillars of Essential Liberty, which have suffered much degradation in recent decades, are to be strengthened, then the place to start is within our families, and most particularly with fathers.
Marriage is the foundation for the family, which in turn, serves as the foundation for a free society. This principle is especially embodied in the spirit of natural law upon which our Republic is founded.
In 295 B.C., Mencius wrote, "The root of the kingdom is in the state. The root of the state is in the family. The root of the family is in the person of its head."
When fathers do not take on their parental responsibilities, broken marriages and families are the result. These, in turn, lead to broken societies.
Thus, the failure of fatherhood has much more than mere social or cultural consequences; it is a menacing national security threat. The collective social pathology of the fatherless presents a great obstacle to Liberty and the survival of our republican form of government as outlined by our Constitution. Father's Day should thus be a call to action. Indeed, the majority of social entropy afflicting our nation today originates in homes without fathers, which definition includes those without functioning or effective fathers.
Currently, almost 60 percent of black children, 32 percent of Hispanic children and 21 percent of white children live in single-parent homes. (See Bill Cosby's "Truth about Black America.") According to the CDC, DoJ, DHHS and the Bureau of the Census, children who live apart from their fathers account for 63 percent of teen suicides, 70 percent of juveniles in state-operated institutions, 71 percent of high-school dropouts, 75 percent of children in chemical-abuse centers, 80 percent of rapists, 85 percent of youths in prison, 85 percent of children who exhibit behavioral disorders, and 90 percent of homeless and runaway children. (When these children become "adults," the social consequences become even worse.)
Generationally, daughters who have been abandoned by their fathers are seven times more likely to have children as teenagers and 92 percent more likely to divorce.
A successful fatherhood begins with a healthy marriage. To be good fathers, we must first be good husbands.
I have been blessed with many mentors, including Dr. Jim Lee, director of Living Free ministries. Jim taught me that the Christian marriage paradigm is built on a foundation of five principles: "First, God is the creator of the marriage relationship; second, heterosexuality is God's pattern for marriage; third, monogamy is God's design for marriage; fourth, God's plan for marriage is for physical and spiritual unity; and fifth, marriage was designed to be permanent."
Concern about marital infidelity and the consequences for children are timeless. John Adams wrote in his diary on 2 June 1778, "The foundation of national morality must be laid in private families. ... How is it possible that Children can have any just Sense of the sacred Obligations of Morality or Religion if, from their earliest Infancy, they learn their Mothers live in habitual Infidelity to their fathers, and their fathers in as constant Infidelity to their Mothers?"
I note here that while most fatherless homes are the result of neglect on the part of fathers, an increasing number of fatherless homes result from mothers who separate without reasonable grounds from the fathers of their children.
Fortunately, some young people reared by a single parent, or in critically dysfunctional or impoverished homes, overcame that impediment. Either they were blessed with a parent who, against all but insurmountable odds, instilled them with the values and virtues of good citizenship or, somewhere along the way, those children were lifted out of their misery by some other grace of God -- often in the form of a significant mentor who modeled individual responsibility and good character.
However, the vast majority of children from homes without fathers are not so fortunate, as statistically confirmed above.
Of course, some fatherless children successfully fill the "daddy deficit" by becoming overachievers in the corporate, political or sports arenas, and not usually in a Rule of Law way. A textbook case study would be Barry Obama.
On the official White House website, the bio for Obama claims, "His story is the American story -- values from the heartland, a middle-class upbringing in a strong family..." While this is certainly the image Obama would like to project, it is most certainly not accurate. Like so many Leftists, his roots are shallow and broken, and they are in no way a reflection of "values from the heartland."
In effect, Obama is the consummate poster child for the consequences of fatherlessness. Though his pathological narcissism has driven him to the most powerful political post on the planet, the phony façade of "a middle-class upbringing" has all but worn away.
The fate of fatherless children like Obama is, at best, a broken heart. At worst, it is the root cause of contemporary American social entropy. It is also the greatest threat to Essential Liberty as established by natural law, because, I would argue, it is directly linked to the broken faith of the fatherless. Broken trust with earthly fathers often results in a lack of trust in our Heavenly Father, our Creator.

On this Father's Day, let us pay tribute to the irreplaceable and inseparable institutions of marriage and fatherhood -- and the importance of a father's love, discipline, provision and protection for his family. Every day of the year, let those of us who are fathers encourage other fathers to be accountable for their marriages and children. Let us seek to mentor the fatherless by volunteering leadership through our places of worship, youth groups, scouting, coaching, tutoring, or working through inner-city ministries with high-risk kids, to name just a few.
As for me, I was blessed with a loving and dependable father, who I profiled a couple years ago in a Memorial Day essay, "The Class of '44." By extension, it is a privilege beyond all others to be a husband to Ann and father of three. Indeed, no reward could be greater than the close relationship I enjoy with my children, and to see their steady progress as Patriots-in-training -- as responsible young citizens committed to carrying forward the flame of Liberty.
Above all, the greatest inheritance I hope to leave my children is not material, but spiritual.
(For excellent information on fatherhood and parenting, visit the resource and research sections of First Things First, an outstanding organization under the leadership of my friend Julie Baumgardner. There are very good national fathering initiatives like Tony Dungy's All Pro Dad. James Dobson's Focus on the Family has great resources, as does the National Center for Fathering and the National Fatherhood Initiative.)

A Report from the Hill
Round 2: House Homeland Security Committee Hearing on The Threat of Muslim-American Radicalization in U.S. Prisons
by Lisa Piraneo, Director of Government Relations
Yesterday, the U.S House of Representatives took another giant step forward in addressing the threat radical Islam poses to America. Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, Peter T. King (R-NY), held his second in a series of hearings on Muslim-American radicalization; this one entitled "Threat of Muslim American Radicalization in U.S. Prisons." As I watched the discussion during the hearing, I Tweeted about it too, so that our ACT! for America members-as well as others who are concerned about this threat-could see what Members of the U.S. Congress are saying and doing about it. While there certainly were not as many "rabble rousers" as there had been for Chairman King's first hearing on Muslim radicalization, there was some political drama, nonetheless.
For example, Rep. Laura Richardson (D-CA) alleged that the focus of Chairman King's hearing "can be deemed as racist and as discriminatory." The Chairman immediately fired back by saying that "the purpose of this Committee is to combat Islamic terrorism because that is the terrorist threat to this country." Watch the exchange HERE.
In response to Rep. Dan Lungren (R-CA) commenting that "the political correctness in this room is astounding," Rep. Shiela Jackson-Lee (D-TX) held up a copy of the Constitution replying that the document is where she finds her "version of political correctness." She went on further to state that there is a parallel between Christian militants and jihadists when it comes to bringing down the Constitution.
Rep. Hansen Clarke (D-MI) ranted on for several-minutes about the real problem being the overcrowding of prisons due to unfair sentencing guidelines and claimed that prisoners were turning to Islam to "protect themselves."
All that said, and as I remarked in my hearing Tweets, the discussion about Islamic radicalization by the House Homeland Security Committee was one of the most productive I have seen, not only during the 112th Congress, but for years. Aside from the ludicrous statements uttered by some on the Committee (a few noted above), most of the comments focused on important issues about who is being radicalized within our prison system, and who is doing the radicalization.
There was ample discussion about very pertinent issues, such as the rise of Islamic ideology in the U.S. prison system; sharia law and its incompatibility with the U.S. Constitution; the groups who are certifying prison chaplains; and the threat of ex-inmates from America traveling overseas to locations such as Yemen to receive militant training.
While I felt that two of the witnesses spoke eloquently and accurately about the matter, two were a big disappointment to me:
- Deputy Chief Michael Downing, Commanding Officer of the LA Police Department's Counter-Terrorism and Special Operations Bureau, and
- Professor Bert Useem of Purdue University.
|
Chief Downing repeatedly tried to distinguish "Islam" from what he referred to as "Prislam," and said that all jihadis had "hijacked" the Islamic faith. As I listened to him, I wondered if he has taken the time to read sharia law, the Qur'an and the hadiths? If he did, I think he would understand that what the "radicalized" Muslims are adhering to is an ideology that is clearly enunciated within Islam's holy books and has been practiced for 14 centuries. His statements reminded me that a great deal of educating at local, state and federal levels still needs to be done.
Professor Useem made several amazingly naïve assertions, one of which was that "correctional leadership (at both the agency and prison-level) has consciously and successfully infused the mission of observing signs of inmate radicalization into organizational practices. Rather than being sitting ducks, waiting for their facilities to be penetrated by radicalizing groups, correctional leaders have fashioned, staffed, and energized the effort to defeat radicalization."
Successfully? Energized? Hardly. This was clearly demonstrated when Chairman King had his turn to question the witnesses and asked Retired Deputy Inspector of the NY Dept. of Correctional Services, Patrick Dunleavy how a convicted murderer got certified by the Islamic Leadership Council to serve as a prison "Chaplain." See that exchange and others between Chairman King and the witnesses HERE.
It was also refreshing to see so many freshmen Members of Congress ask excellent, pointed questions of the witnesses and demonstrate a clear understanding the issue. We saw this also during Chairman King's first hearing. There is not much "getting up to speed" that these folks need to do. They have obviously already done their homework and are ready to go.
A few examples:
- Rep. Chip Cravaack (R-MN) asked if Shariah law would supersede the U.S. Constitution for radicalized Muslims. A chorus of "Yes" was heard from most of the witnesses.
- Rep. Scott Rigell (R-VA) remarked that he was disappointed to see some members of the committee question why a hearing of this nature needed to take place. That the threat of Islamic radicalization in our prisons is clear.
- Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC) commented how remarkable it is that a discussion about the threat of radical Islam appeared to be "off limits." He also expressed concerns about literature found in U.S. prisons, such as writings by Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, that ask: Which do you choose, the flag of Islam or the flag of America?
|
At ACT! for America, we've been encouraging our members to reach out to elected officials who clearly have taken the time to educate themselves about the threat radical Islam and sharia law pose to our nation. The outreach is to encourage them to continue doing so. It is evident by the comments made by so many members of the House Homeland Security Committee yesterday that this grassroots contact is making a difference.
Action by our grassroots is the fuel that makes the ACT! for America engine run. As we wait for Chairman King's third hearing on Islamic radicalization (date and topic still to be determined), it's nice to see that the engine is roaring loud and strong.
Please keep it up.

Hi folks,
In the New Hampshire primary debate that took place on June 13, two of the candidates took a courageous stand on national television and spoke against Islam's Shariah Law: Herman Cain and Newt Gingrich. An actual transcript of what they said is in the article at the bottom of this email.
You can be certain that these candidates are now drawing fire from large numbers of Muslims and liberals, and they are sure to pay a price for asserting that Islam's Shariah is incompatible with the U.S. Constitution. Because we know that they will receive lots of hate mail for boldly speaking the truth, they will be under pressure to pull in their horns.
This is why it's so important for you to take a minute to send their campaign offices a quick email telling them that you support what they did. The web pages used to send them a message are shown below, followed by an email I sent them that you may want to use as an example. PLEASE SEND THEM A NOTE AND FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN. Thank you!!! -- Dave

I commend the courage you showed in speaking about Islam and Shariah at the New Hampsire debate. These are issues that urgently need to be discussed by our political leaders, and you moved awareness to an entirely new level by saying publicly in a national debate that Shariah violates our Constitution's First Amendment.
With appreciation,

Debating Islam Last Night: Cain and Gingrich Able, But Not Romney
Previously, I have compared and contrasted Newt Gingrich's lucid understanding of the threat posed by Sharia supremacism, versus Mitt Romney's muddled apologetic on jihad.
Last evening's (6/13/11) New Hampshire Republican primary candidates debate included a brief, but illuminating three-way exchange on Islam prompted by CNN moderator John King's query of Herman Cain.
Cain and Newt Gingrich were forthright and informed. But once again, Mitt Romney did not acquit himself well, revealing an unacceptable, utterly inadequate knowledge of the extent of documented Sharia encroachment in the US (see here, and here), coupled to politically-correct platitudes.

To: Friends & Supporters
From: Gary L. Bauer
BREAKING NEWS: Disgraced liberal Democrat Anthony Weiner announced his resignation from the House of Representatives today. If he had been a conservative Republican, he would have been gone when the controversy first broke 20 days ago.
Romney, Bachmann - One, Two
Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney solidified his status as the GOP frontrunner following Monday night's debate in New Hampshire. According to the latest Rasmussen poll conducted after the debate, 33% of likely Republican primary voters now support Romney.
But the poll also confirmed that the night's big winner was Michele Bachmann, who leapfrogged the field into a solid second-place finish with 19%. From there it is very crowded: Cain at 10%, Gingrich at 9%, Paul at 7%, Pawlenty and Santorum tied at 6% and Huntsman at 2%.
Friends, it is still very early in the process, and preferences among the GOP electorate appear very fluid. In spite of that, the media are already buzzing about a possible Romney/Bachmann ticket.
Economy Sinks, Obama Jokes
Earlier this week, President Obama traveled to North Carolina for a meeting with his Jobs and Competitiveness Council to talk about ways to stimulate the economy. But when members told him that regulations and permitting procedures were getting in the way, Obama joked, "Shovel-ready was not as shovel-ready as we expected." Very funny. But there are a lot of unemployed Americans and angry taxpayers who don't find Obama's failed stimulus bill to be a laughing matter. More than $800 billion was wasted and few, if any, jobs were created.
But, believe it or not, Democrat National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz actually bragged about the "Obama recovery." Yesterday Schultz told Politico, "We [the Democrats] own the economy. We own the beginning of the turnaround..." I'd like to remind Rep. Wasserman Schultz that when Obama was inaugurated in January 2009, the unemployment rate was 7.6%. Today it is 9.1%. If that's her idea of a "turnaround," it's time for a change!
Threats On The Horizon
As many experts predicted, Ayman al-Zawahiri, Osama bin Laden's top lieutenant, has taken over as the leader of the Al Qaeda terrorist network. Al-Zawahiri has promised to retaliate for bin Laden's death and those threats should be taken seriously. Rep. Mike Rogers, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, told ABC news "Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula [Yemen] is strictly, or has been strictly focused on attacks in the U.S. homeland. This morning, when you're over your breakfast cereal there is somebody in Al Qaeda ... planning another attack in the U.S."
ABC reports that documents obtained from bin Laden's Pakistan compound show that he repeatedly urged the Yemeni branch of Al Qaeda to wage attacks inside the U.S. You may recall that the radical cleric Anwar Al Awlaki, who encouraged Nidal Hasan to attack Fort Hood, is based in Yemen. Like al-Zawahiri, Al Qaeda in Yemen is eager to avenge bin Laden's death. That is why the U.S. has increased drone attacks in Yemen in recent days.
Other documents seized from the bin Laden compound also show that Al Qaeda had considered attempting to derail trains near the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. It was reported yesterday that someone attempted to derail a freight train hauling flammable ethanol in Iowa this week. According to rail authorities, "the effects could have been devastating."
But there are other threats beyond Al Qaeda. Yesterday, I received a two-hour briefing about the increasing infiltration of Hezbollah in Latin America. There was a time in our nation's history when American presidents refused to allow enemy influences to gain a foothold in Latin America. But this growing danger isn't happening in a vacuum. While Obama is bogged down in Libya, Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is meddling in our backyard, strengthening Iran's alliance (here and here) with Venezuela.
Is The Obama Administration Arming Mexican Cartels?
Can you believe the Obama Administration was running guns into Mexico, arming the drug cartels? That may sound like a bad joke, but it was the focus yesterday of a very intense hearing on Capitol Hill into a program known as Operation Fast and Furious.
In 2006, the Bush Administration launched a program of sting operations to identify illegal weapons dealers on the American side of the border who were supplying guns to Mexican drug gangs. But some time in 2009, top officials at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms decided to allow the weapons to cross the border, hoping to track them in Mexico. The plan horrified rank and file agents, who objected strenuously.
During yesterday's hearing, three ATF agents testified that they had repeatedly requested permission to stop the weapons shipments but were overruled each time by superiors. Last year, their worst fears were realized when Border Patrol agent Brian Terry was shot and killed along the Arizona border. Two weapons found at the scene were later identified as part of Operation Fast and Furious.
For months, Republican members of Congress have been demanding information about this program and who authorized it. The Obama Justice Department has stonewalled their requests at every opportunity. Holding up entire pages of redacted material, Rep. Darrell Issa, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, blasted a top administration official for claiming they were cooperating. Issa said, "You've given us black paper."
Meanwhile, the Obama Administration has used gun violence by the cartels as an excuse for more gun control legislation here in the U.S. But it seems the administration is a part of the problem.
Lastly I would note that for those who still complain that nothing changes no matter who is elected, this hearing wouldn't have taken place in Nancy Pelosi's House of Representatives. Thanks to its majority status, the GOP leadership is using its investigative power to expose this and other Obama Administration scandals.

They also duplicate existing federal programs, like the $49 million that went to support flooded regions of Rhode Island, Nebraska, Tennessee, and Kentucky, a job that normally would go to the Federal Emergency Management Agency. "Mr. Obama's deficit commission cited these same examples of duplication and waste as reasons to eliminate the EDA completely-something Congress should immediately do," "But Democrats and, sadly, some Republicans, want to give the EDA a raise." Why Chris Christie won't run in 2012 | If there was doubt that he has been straight shooting in telling us he will not run for President, an interview Tuesday night put uncertainty to rest. Christie gave us persuasive reasons why he's ruled out a presidential run. He doesn't feel ready, and his family needs him. Christie said he would rather know that he's ready to be president and then worry about whether he could win - rather than figure he can win and then worry about whether he's ready. His wife, Mary Pat, said her husband's family responsibilities preclude a run for the presidency. The fact that Christie risked the public's ire by using a helicopter to get to his son's ballgame on time indicates that this "family first" assertion is more than just political rhetoric. Revamping the political and educational landscape in New Jersey will take time and effort. If they do work out Christie will not appear to deserve "promotion" to nationwide office. But, were Christie run for President, all progress on these projects would grind to a halt. Instead of a record of achievement, voters would be offered only a beginning to a successful governorship. That's a much weaker reason to cast your ballot for a candidate. And maybe, Christie is not be convinced that President Obama is likely to lose. Ron Paul handily won GOP debate according to applause | Ron Paul may be a long-shot candidate to some, but the conservative congressman from Texas received more than twice as many rounds of applause as his opponents at Monday night's GOP debate. Paul was applauded 11 times while Mitt Romney, Michele Bachmann and Tim Pawlenty were applauded five times each. Newt Gingrich and Herman Cain were applauded four times each. Rick Santorum brought up the rear by only being applauded three times during the two-hour CNN debate. Paul received one of the best reactions of any of the candidates after Romney said that if he were president, he would withdraw troops from Afghanistan only if his generals agreed that it was the right move. "I wouldn't wait for my generals," Paul responded. "I'm the commander in chief. I make the decisions. I tell the generals what to do," "I'd bring them home as quickly as possible. And I would get them out of Iraq as well. And I wouldn't start a war in Libya. I'd quit bombing Yemen. And I'd quit bombing Pakistan. I'd start taking care of people here at home because we could save hundreds of billions of dollars." [Andrew Malcolm, LA Times blog, June 16] Click here for the source story

Why is Texas Governor Rick Perry afraid to stand up to the Obama Administration's TSA now when it really matters?
Well, since Governor Perry fancies himself a national Republican leaders, maybe if you and tens of thousands of Campaign for Liberty activists contact him, he will rediscover his political nerve.
As I've written to you before, the Texas legislature is willing to push back against the out-of-control TSA and its screening policies of groping and electronically ogling airline passengers - even the elderly, vets and young children.
However, before lawmakers can act during this special session of the legislature, Governor Perry must first add the bill to the list of legislation to be considered.
And as of today, despite the pleas of all leading liberty Republicans in the Texas legislature - and thousands grassroots liberty and Tea Party patriots, led by our local Texas volunteers - Rick Perry refuses to do anything.
Please take a moment today to call Governor Perry at (512) 463-1782 and ask him to fight for Texas and every American against the TSA.
Right now, all of his limited government, state sovereignty words over the last couple of years are apparently just empty rhetoric.
While Texas waits, impatiently, for its Governor's record to catch up to his rhetoric, Perry has apparently his eyes set on Washington - but not because he's standing up to it.
You see, Texas State Rep. David Simpson previously sponsored this commonsense bill to prohibit officials from groping people's privates as a condition for them to travel or enter a public building.
Despite the bill passing the Texas State House unanimously, it never received a vote in the Senate due partly to procedural rules after a threatening letter was sent from TSA.
Rick Perry is the only man standing in the way of allowing Texas to challenge the TSA and potentially set off a chain reaction of legislation in other states to end the TSA's abuses once and for all.
Please, call Governor Perry at (512) 463-1782. Demand he back up his rhetoric and stand up for states' rights by bringing up HB 41 & SB 29 during the special session of the Texas state legislature.
Make sure he knows actions speak far louder than words.
This bill would set precedent far outside of just Texas; this is a problem with national implications. If Rick Perry fails to act, then he's proven to the entire nation that his words aren't worth the paper they're printed on.
In Liberty,
 Matt Hawes Vice President
P.S. C4L is committed to fighting back against the TSA's abuses whenever and wherever we can. Please chip in at least $10 to help us continue to fund these efforts. Whatever you can afford in these difficult times is much appreciated, and every dollar allows us to go on offense against the statists.

[glennbeck16] Calling All Patriots! Stand For the Constitution & State's Rights
This issue concerns every PATRIOT in this country concerned about STATE'S RIGHTS. It's unfortunately being underreported by the media. Please give it 4 minutes of your attention.
The Texas Senate has ALL votes needed to pass the Traveler's Dignity Act, a bill that would criminalize TSA agents patting-down or scanning the bodies of passengers without consent. It NOW has one last chance at being resurrected.
Governor Rick Perry can introduce the bills in special session. The dignity of Texas travelers, including women and children, is in his hands. If Rick Perry has any intention of running for president, every one of us should be watching his reaction to this issue. We should also encourage he support State's rights.
For Texans: Please call Governor Perry's Office TODAY and ask him to add these bills to special session! (512) 463-2000 Sample call: "Hi, my name is ________. I live in __________, Texas. I'm calling to encourage Governor Perry to add HB 41 and SB 29 to the special session. If he stands for the Constitution and State's rights, he needs to add these most important bills!" (Call Time: 2 Minutes)
For Out-of-State Callers: Please call to voice your concern over State's Rights TODAY! Information and Referral and Opinion Hotline (512) 463-1782
Sample call:
"Hi, my name is ________. I'm calling from __________, _______. I'm calling to encourage Governor Perry to stand up to the federal government's breach of power and add HB 41 and SB 29 to the special session. If he stands for the Constitution and State's rights, he needs to add these most important bills!" (Call Time: 2 Minutes)
--
The Texas legislature has been leading the fight against the TSA's breach of federal authority. The bill passed the Texas House UNANIMOUSLY. It was set to pass the Senate until the US Department of Justice threatened to impose a No-Fly Zone over Texas. The Senate responded by pulling it from vote.
The invasive pat-downs and nude scanners violate the Fourth Amendment and other federal, state and local statutes. They pose serious health risks to passengers, including increased risk of cancer and damage to DNA strands and cell tissue. They also are also an ineffective security measure, with a failure detection rate of 70%. The former director of Israel's Ben Gurion Airport said he could smuggle through enough explosives to take-down a Boeing 747.

Obama Health Law Reduces Your Privacy
By BETSY MCCAUGHEY June 16, 2011
Rep. Anthony Weiner announced this week that he's seeking treatment for sexual "addiction" - mortifying in formation that a private person would want to keep to himself. But it soon may be difficult to keep any sensitive medical problem strictly between you and your doctor.
The 2009 stimulus and the Obama health law enacted last year established a national electronic health database that will hold and display your lifelong medical history - making it accessible to a troubling number of strangers, including government employees and a variety of health-care personnel.

September 1, 2010 By Wayne Allyn Root, June 6th, 2010
Barack Obama is no fool. He is not incompetent. To the contrary, he is brilliant. He knows exactly what he's doing. He is purposely overwhelming the U.S. economy to create systemic failure, economic crisis and social chaos - thereby destroying capitalism and our country from within.
Barack Obama is my college classmate ( Columbia University , class of '83). As Glenn Beck correctly predicted from day one, Obama is following the plan of Cloward & Piven, two professors at Columbia University . They outlined a plan to socialize America by overwhelming the system with government spending and entitlement demands.
Add up the clues below. Taken individually they're alarming. Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority that desperately needs government for survival ... and can be counted on to always vote for bigger government. Why not? They have no responsibility to pay for it.

With the real unemployment rate above 16 percent, it is a perfect time to throw a lavish party for high paid federal employees at Eric Holder's Department of Justice. At least Eric Holder thinks so.

The Civil Rights Division at the Justice Department, the same unit that dismissed the slam dunk voter intimidation lawsuit against the New Black Panther Party and forced Dayton (OH) to hire firefighters who flunked employment tests, is throwing an alcohol-fueled bash during work hours for 815 employees.
I have obtained the invitation posted internally to all 815 Civil Rights Division employees. It reads:
"It's Time to Get Together, So Save the Date - It's time to open up and let the sun shine in!"
I'll wager if a Freedom of Information Act request was sent to DOJ about the costs of the beer bash and lost employee time, there wouldn't be much sunshine.
The invitation continues:

Time to Launch Operation Chaos, 2.0-12 By Michael Oberndorf, FloydReports.com
Democrats invented election fraud. The most recent example of their talent and expertise was the special election in New York's 26th Congressional District, where a far-Left Democrat masqueraded as a Tea Party candidate. Correctly counting on the laziness of voters to know who they are actually voting for (just as Barack Hussein Obama did), he managed to garner nine percent of the conservative vote, allowing the openly declared liberal Democrat to win.
So, it looks like they want to play hardball. Well, turnabout is fair play, is it not? Here is an idea for a strategy that is completely legal, but can cause havoc, disarray, and financial disaster within the Democratic Party.
Let us start putting up our own candidates in Democrat primaries.... |

Canada Turns Away Obama's Terrorist Pal, Bill Ayers By Mike Opelka, The Blaze
Bill Ayers is a proud radical. Mr. Ayers admits to co-founding the Weather Underground, a group whose members set off bombs at banks, the home of a judge, the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol building during the 1960s. In order to avoid arrest, Ayers and several of his fellow "Weathermen" had to live in hiding for over a decade. He surfaced in the 1980s with companion (and the mother of his children) Bernadine Dohrn.
Oddly enough, it was on September 11, 2001, the New York Times printed a story about Bill Ayers, quoting him about the bombings that his group orchestrated.... |

Back Door Gun Control is Here By Mike Piccione, Human Events
Back door gun control is the phenomena where an entity will enact a law that indirectly affects your right to keep and bear arms. It's easier to pass legislation that harms Second Amendment rights when it does not directly require the citizen to surrender a gun.
Examples of back door gun control are:
Define ammo components as an unhealthy threat. Environmental laws designed to outlaw the use of ingredients that comprise components of arms related materials. The easiest example to point to is lead. Lead has long been the primary ingredient of bullets. Designating lead as an environmental hazard means that its use can be tightly controlled, and therefore restricted. Restrict lead and you restrict bullet production. Restrict bullet production and you dilute the ability to purchase ammo through increased materials cost.
Tax it if it shoots.... |

Swindling America's Youth By Dr. Mark W. Hendrickson, FloydReports.com
We older Americans have saddled our youth with a mind-boggling public debt-over $20 trillion already spent ($14.3 trillion of "official" national debt plus various off-budget expenditures, according to the U.S. Treasury); trillions more of projected deficit-spending over the coming decade; and tens of trillions of dollars of unfunded liabilities.
By the time today's toddlers can vote, it is likely that both the Medicare and Social Security funds will be exhausted. Many of today's older Americans vehemently oppose any and all attempts to restructure those entitlement programs to extend their viability. Instead, the graybeard generation expects younger Americans to endure the oppressive tax burden that will be needed to keep the entitlement promises fully funded.
My generation should be ashamed of what we have done to younger Americans. No, we haven't sold them into child prostitution, but we have placed them in bondage to the most massive debts in world history. We have led these innocent lambs to a financial slaughterhouse.... |

Unions asking teachers for bank account information to deduct dues
Teachers union wants bank info
Teachers unions are asking teachers for bank account information so their union dues can automatically be deducted once the state collective bargaining law goes into effect later this month.
The state's largest teachers union, the Wisconsin Education Association Council (WEAC), has asked school districts for teachers' home addresses -- both email and street addresses -- so local union leaders can contact them. The new law states school districts no longer may collect union dues on behalf of unions through payroll deductions.

Weiner OK financially but needs to work
Holding on for the money?
If the Internet sex scandal that has already damaged Rep. Anthony Weiner's political career ends up costing him his $174,000-a-year job, the New York Democrat would have a bit of a financial cushion.
Congressional lawmakers' financial-disclosure forms for 2010 were released on Wednesday, and Weiner's lists investments in a range of companies--including Hewlett-Packard, Corning, 3M, Dow Chemical, and Sony--that are worth as much as $117,000.

Did Rep. Anthony Weiner marry for political gain?
Yes
Rep. Anthony Weiner has some issues. He's been embroiled in a scandal since the end of May about his exploits over the Internet as he's talked dirty to at least six women. Profiling the women may lead to clues as to why Weiner's personal life is in shambles.
The New York Post reports one woman, Lisa Weiss, is Jewish like Weiner. Not only that, she's much closer in age to the congressman than his wife Huma Abedin. Weiner's wife is 35, while he is 46. Weiss not only shares the same religion but is at least in her 40s and has more life experience than other women.

Consider it a victory for taxpayers and for the rule of law. On Tuesday, the Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled 4-3 in favor of upholding the state's new collective bargaining law, reversing a lower court decision that sought to stamp out the will of the people, the authority of the legislature, and a major movement toward fiscal reform. And at three this morning, following a nearly 13-hour floor debate, the Wisconsin Assembly approved a budget aimed at wiping out the state's $3 billion structural deficit.

Obama panders in Puerto Rico and fails
John Stewart called out Obama for his blatant pandering in Puerto Rico by using a Spanish accent. Just stop. It's embarrassing. But it may happen less after Stewart blasted the practice: WATCH.
