"We have gone to the capitals of our states and to the capitals of our government. We have talked to all the power brokers. The only power broker, the only seat of government that can and will solve this problem with or without us is God. It is time to return inside the walls that surround Jerusalem and stand with people of all faiths, all around the world," Glenn said in his initial announcement.
"In August, whether I'm there with seven people or 10 people or there alone, I will stand. I ask you to join me. I also ask you to take this message globally, to take this to every corner of the earth. If you have family living overseas, this is not an America solution. This is a people of faith solution. This is a people all over the world solution. I ask you to help get this word out."

The Dreyfuss Initiative: An Evening With Richard Dreyfuss

Wednesday, June 8, 2011 7-9 PM at The National Constitution Center in Philadelphia
A FREE EXCLUSIVE ONE-NIGHT ONLY EVENT FOR LISTENERS OF THE NEW TALK RADIO 1210, WPHT
Academy Award winning actor Richard Dreyfuss is best known for starring in film, television, and theater roles since the late 1960s, including the films American Graffiti, Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, The Goodbye Girl, Stakeout, Always, What About Bob? and Mr. Holland's Opus. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor in 1977 for The Goodbye Girl, and was nominated in 1995 for Mr. Holland's Opus.
Now, Richard Dreyfuss is taking on a new role. The Oscar-winning actor is Founder and President of The Dreyfuss Initiative, which calls for a cross-curricular study of civics in our public schools that incorporates...
- HISTORY - LOGIC - REASON - CRITICAL THINKING
The Dreyfuss Initiative, a nonprofitorganization committed to revitalizing America's civic culture. Richard also serves on the American Bar Association's Education Committee, the Board of the National Constitution Center, and was Senior Research Advisory Member of St. Antony's College, Oxford University.
THIS WILL BE AN ENTERTAINING EVENING FOR PARENTS, FOR STUDENTS, FOR EVERYONE!
Richard will share why he believes that too many of us don't realize the power we hold in a democracy. The solution, he says, is to change the way students learn about civics, the study of the rights and duties of citizenship. Learn why we need a national standard that calls for teaching reason, logic and critical thinking skills before teaching government as a way of providing perspective and context in civics classes.
ARE AMERICAN STUDENTS PREPARED TO INHERIT THE LEADERSHIP OF OUR GREAT NATION?
Richard Dreyfuss joins 1210s Dom Giordano for this unique 2-hour LIVE event and will lay out the critically important issues, and discuss why he believes we must be preparing our nation's next generation to be effective and engaged citizens.
The event is free. Seating is limited. You must register to attend.

Last Monday some of us went to Baltimore to attend Brigitte Gabriel's conference. There were approximately 500 to 600 people. The conference started with an overview of the story of ACT for America and how it's organization and effort are affecting so much of the whole country. How members of a local chapters help influence the US Congress. The ACT presentation also included several little videos about big chapters and how they worked, and an extensive report about all legislative victories that without ACT wouldn't have taken place.
People were in silent, expectant, and taking notes.
After the video showing the ACT machine in full operation, Brigitte spoke of Lebanon, an example of prosperity and generosity, one of the most advanced civilizations, the Paris combined with the Swiss Banking Center of the Middle East with its mythological Mediterranean beaches and woods of cedars mentioned in the Bible, that were destroyed by tanks, bombs, and fedayines, attacks every night until it was left to smoking shambles and destruction.
Hospitality and the pride of accepting all races religions and cultures returned blood and death instead.
Soon it became clear that this was not going to be just a common conference as sparks started to illuminate the spirits. The public started to applaud frantically standing thrilled with admiration and enthusiasm.
Brigitte had the ability to make us all feel her vibration and her spiritual strength as if it was our own. The only thing that crossed my mind was to thank God to have sent such a talented communicator. I intend to bring Brigitte to the Union League in Philadelphia.
So, if you don't want to start seeing burkas in our neighborhoods, if you don't want no-go zone's around us, if you don't want to be surrounded by terrorist training camps, if you don't want to have honor killings and shariah law in our midst, please RSVP and let me know that you will support bringing Brigette to our area.
So please let me know your thoughts and wishes. Will you help? Will you fight with us?
RSVP: YES?

NYC Rally for Airport Sanity & Security
Friday, June 10, 2011 4:30 PM
Union Square Park 14th Street New York, NY
Who's hosting? Rebecca
How to find us: Park's South Side
This message is from NYC residents trying to nullify the TSA's security and restore Fourth Amendment and due process rights. Please give it your attention. Thank you.
----
As a NYC resident who lived through the attacks on 9/11, I am tired of politicians exploiting it for government power grabs and excess. And I am not alone.
Join New York City residents as they speak out against the TSA's extremism and support the nullification movement afoot in Texas and Utah to criminalize the TSA's pat-downs and invasive security measures. (They violate the Fourth Amendment and have an ineffectiveness rate of 70%!)
A coalition of Republicans, Democrats and independents have united to support legislation banning whole image body scanners and invasive pat-downs throughout NYC.
In November 2010, NYC Councilman David Greenfield and 10 other Councilmembers proposed legislation to do just that. Unfortunately, the City Council never introduced it. (Hence, the public pressure.)
While there is no need to check the underpants of our grandmothers, mothers or children there is a need for sound, common sense security at public portals. The TSA has failed in this regard and if Senator Schumer has his way, whole image body scanners will make their way into our railways and subways.
This event is nonpartisan and includes sponsors:
We Wont Fly, Electronic Privacy Information Center, Manhattan Libertarian Party and NY Campaign for Liberty
Confirmed speakers include:
- Susie Castillo, Former Miss. USA
- NYC Councilman Dan Halloran
- Michael Boldin, Founder, Tenth Amendment Center
- Jim Babb, Founder, We Wont Fly
- Amie Stepanovich, National Security Fellow, Electronic Privacy Information Center
- Michael Roberts, Pilot & Founder, Fed Up Flyers
- Julian Heicklen, Activist, Fully Informed Jury Association
If you do not live in NYC, please donate just $5 to help.

RedState Morning Briefing
For June 6, 2011
1. Stand with Heritage
The crisis we conservatives have been warning the country about for decades is upon us. It is happening in this generation . . . in this Congress . . . and the results could be catastrophic.
Simply put, if we don't get a handle on stopping the explosion of spending, debt, and the size of government NOW, we may never get another chance. The red ink will be too great, and America might never be the same.
And the question I pose to you as a conservative in 2011 is this:
What are you going to do about it?
I know what I'm doing-Red State, my CNN gig, my talk show . . . and more.
But one of the absolutely most important and strategically effective moves I'm making to avert disaster is supporting The Heritage Foundation . . . and asking gung-ho conservatives like you to support them with me.
Will you?
Please click here for the rest of the post.
2. The Undefeated
Steve Bannon and the fine folks at CRC Public Relations sent me an advanced copy of The Undefeated to watch over this past weekend.
I curled up in a comfortable chair in the home studio and fired up the movie.
To give you a sense of the movie - more a documentary - the film came about with Governor Palin's desire to give a full account of her tenure as Governor of Alaska and beyond without the all too frequent anti-Palin bias that exists within parts of the media.
Already, some leftwing bloggers are others are comparing it to Hitler's Triumph of the Will.
Please click here for the rest of the post.
3. So and so is the true RINO
So and so has changed positions on more issues than my favorite candidate. Sure, my favorite candidate has changed positions as well, but their changes were the result of experience and wisdom gained while my favorite candidate went through their singularly unique path to the presidency. Reagan is a good example.
Please click here for the rest of the post.
4. What is the difference between the SEIU & an armed robber?
That's a rhetorical question.
However, after seeing this L.A. Times passage from last month, one might come to the conclusion that 1) an armed robber usually only has one victim (whereas, the SEIU has millions), 2) an average armed robber does not have politicians in his back pocket, and 3) an armed robber is more intellectually honest-at least he tells you he's robbing you, where as the SEIU...well, read it for yourself.
Please click here for the rest of the post.
5. NY Teachers' Union & NAACP Fight to Keep African-American Kids in Failing Schools
Let's start with the problem: In Harlem (NY), according to the Wall Street Journal, at one elementary school, only 3% of the students perform at grade level English, and only 9% in Math. At the Columbus High School the graduation rate is an abysmal 40%, compared to a citywide average of 63%. These figures are from only two of 22 failing schools that need to be shut down.

Ridicule the claim-made by the leftist think tank The New Economics Foundation in their Happy Planet Index-that Cubans are the 7th happiest people in the world.
Yeah, that's why so many of them risk being drowned or eaten by tiger sharks trying to get to the United States (whose people are apparently only the world's 114th happiest).
Remind your liberal friends of the statistic that if liberals donated as much blood as conservatives, America's blood supply would increase by 45 percent.
So conservatives, literally, are the life blood of America, while liberals-in the main-are a drain.
Make them watch the "Death Camp of Tolerance" episode of South Park.
This is the one where class teacher Mr. Garrison attempts to get himself fired for being gay by shoving the class gerbil Lemmiwinks into Mr. Slave's "tight ass." When the schoolchildren complain about this they are sent to a "Tolerance camp" where screaming SS-type guards force them to draw pictures of "people of all colors and creeds holding hands beneath a rainbow." Meanwhile, back at school, Mr. Garrison wins a Courageous Teacher Award for overcoming adversity. At the end, ask the liberal why he didn't laugh very much.

Somali-American was suicide bomber, militants say
25-year-old man reportedly arrived from Minnesota two years ago
MOGADISHU, Somalia - The militant group al-Shabab said the man who carried out a suicide bomb attack on a base in Mogadishu this week was a Somali-American, and an official said Thursday that separate clashes with militants in Somalia's capital left at least 17 civilians dead.
Al-Shabab said on its website Thursday that a 25-year-old man named Abdullahi Ahmed was the suicide bomber who attacked an African Union peacekeeping base in Mogadishu, Somalia's capital, on Monday, killing two AU troops and one government soldier.
Ahmed was said to have moved to Somalia from Minnesota two years ago.

While the words recorded below are nearly ten years old, having come from Mohamad Atta shortly before the September 11, 20011 attack, they are worth looking at again. When I first read them, I saw them as the words of a madman, quoting strange and violent scriptures I did not recognize. Now, after reading the Koran several times and also reading numerous hadiths, they are all too familiar. They are not a perversion or a hijacking of Islam, but are entirely theologically valid from an Islamic perspective. While this theological instruction and justification for terrorism has been known for a decade, it has never been refuted by Islamic scholars on a point by point basis. Instead, we get defensive and evasive dismissals.
Read the words below and let them sink in. When you see Atta's quotes from the Quran, you may want to do a Google search on them to see where they came from, along with their context and commentaries. It will be an eye-opening experience. You will find that, in the sense of being true to the Quran, the claims of this document are valid. The only way they could not be true is if the Quran is not what it claims to be -- the literal words of Allah himself -- and is, instead, something very dangerous.
After viewing this video of how a suicide bomber is recruited, you'll know how dangerous it is -->
| RECRUITING AND BRAINWASHING OF A TERRORIST - SCOOP |
Islam is not a peaceful religion. It is a call to violence. It motivates Muslims to seek offense and die while killing others. To think that this is a religion of peace, or that Muslims can live in harmony with those of other faiths, is a pathologically ignorant pipe dream. Our only defense is to recognize the danger Islam represents officially in law. That is, Islam must be recognized as a violent political ideology every bit as much as it is a religion, and the freedom and safety of non-Muslims must take precedence over the freedom to practice Islam.
Dave

Last words of a terrorist
One of the few - and certainly the most remarkable and troubling - glimpses into the minds and motives of the men who wrought the slaughter of 11 September is a four-page document, written in Arabic, found in the baggage of the suspected ringleader behind the carnage, Mohamed Atta. READ MORE: |

You're probably aware of the vast quantities of financial aid that the United States is providing the now Hamas-aligned Palestinian Authority (http://www.businessweek.com/news/2010-11-10/u-s-gives-palestinian-authority-150-million-in-aid.html ), as well as the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip itself (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/02/24/official-provide-substantial-aid-gaza-reconstruction/ ). While there are limits to what we can do as individuals to stop this flood of taxpayer money to a terrorist organization sworn to the destruction of Israel, here is something you can do that only takes a minute and sends an important message to the Obama Administration: Americans oppose the use of their tax dollars to support terrorism. Recently we had a series of discussions with someone familiar with the inside dealings of Fox News regarding the way Fox News treats Governor Palin. While I don't condone using anonymous sources (I usually make fun of those citing anonymous sources) unfortunately we can't not reveal the source. So we have therefore gathered the evidence that will back up everything we were told and it's up to the reader to come to his or her own conclusion. Whichever way you look at it, the evidence is astonishing on how Fox News is out to sabotage Governor Palin.
When Roger Ailes hired Governor Palin, he thought he was hiring a puppet. He thought that he would groom her, train her, educate her and prop her up to become his candidate for president and that he would be able to pull her strings. Sort of being to Sarah Palin what George Soros is to Barack Obama.
It didn't take him long to find...

DEBKAfile Exclusive Report
June 2, 2011,
Just four days after the much-heralded opening of the Rafah crossing between the Gaza Strip and Sinai to free passage, Cairo virtually shut it down Tuesday, May 31, by a series of tight bureaucratic restrictions on Palestinian exit and entry.
debkafile's military and Washington sources disclose that Military Council Chairman Field Marshal Mohammed Tantawi personally signed the new orders in response to an insistent US demand based on the information that since the Rafah crossing opened to free passage Saturday, May 28, Palestinian and al Qaeda terrorists had swarmed through and were roaming at large across Sinai and laying the Suez Canal and its coastal cities open to attack. Washington warned him that terrorists still unlisted by Western or Egyptian counter-terror agencies would be free to reach Egypt, carry out attacks and return to the Gaza Strip unhindered unless careful restrictions were imposed to weed them out.
Tuesday, May...

by Anne Bayefsky appears today on Fox News. With President Obama's anti-Israel hostility becoming an increasing liability for Democrats, the administration finally decided Wednesday to pull out of the U.N.'s upcoming Israel-bashing extravaganza known as "Durban III." Believe it or not, the notorious U.N. world summit on racism is coming to New York City in September with the purpose of "commemorating" the ten-year anniversary of the racist "anti-racism" conference held in Durban, South Africa in 2001. Mr. Obama's latest lead-from-behind foreign policy move comes seven months after Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper's government first declared "we will not be part of this event, which commemorates an agenda that promotes racism rather than combats it."
The decision appears to be a clear reaction to the negative political fallout surrounding Mr. Obama's recent veiled attempt to shove indefensible borders down Israel's throat. Read the whole entry »
Fatah has never recognized Israel's right to exist and will never do so, according to Azzam al-Ahmed, a member of the Fatah Central Committee who is closely associated with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
Ahmed, who is also head of the Fatah negotiating team with Hamas, said PA security forces in the West Bank were arresting Hamas supporters to protect them from being targeted by the IDF.
Ahmed's remarks were made in an interview with the Egyptian newspaper Al-Masry Al- Youm.
Asked whether Fatah had spoken with Hamas about recognizing Israel, the senior Fatah official said, "Fatah has not recognized Israel. I challenge anyone who says that the case is otherwise, whether it's Hamas or others. Neither Fatah nor Hamas is required to recognize Israel. Only governments and states extend recognition. It was the Palestinian government that recognized Israel, just as the Israeli government recognized us."
Ahmed said the PLO had...

The most pervasive myth of the welfare state is the altruism of the public sector. In this mythology, the private sector is run by a bunch of greedy businessmen who get rich by making money off people's misery. While the public sector is run by altruists who want nothing except to help those left behind by the private sector. Capitalists meet the Anti-Capitalists.
But actually it's the public sector that does a much better job of making money off people's misery. Some parts of the private sector do deliberately seek out ways to feed off poverty and keep their victims poor, most notably in the lending and financial services industry, but for the most part the private sector makes money off willing customers. How do you sell products and services to people who can't afford them? Unless you trap them into a cycle of obligation, you can't. And such cycles are finite. Eventually the people you're feeding off have nothing more to give...

In Commentary, Daniel Gordis asks, Are Young Rabbis Turning on Israel?, then answers in the affirmative.
Twice on Yom Ha-Zikaron, once in the evening and once again in the morning, the country's air raid sirens sound. On sidewalks, pedestrians come to a halt and stand at attention, and even on highways, cars slow and stop; drivers and passengers alike step out of their vehicles and stand in silence until the wail of the siren abates. For two minutes each time, the state of Israel surrenders itself to the grip of utter silence and immobility. During that quiet, one feels a sense of belonging, a palpable sense of gratitude and unstated loyalty that simply defies description.
I mused on this fact as I read a recent message sent to students at the interdenominational rabbinical school at Boston's Hebrew College, asking them to prepare themselves for Yom Ha-Zikaron by musing on the following paragraph: "For Yom Ha-Zikaron, our kavanah is to open up our communal...

[Canada succeeded by cutting spending and cutting taxes. This is Palin's blueprint.]
by David R. Henderson (Research Fellow)
Imagine this scenario: a federal government runs a large deficit. The deficits are so large, in fact, that the ratio of federal debt to Gross Domestic Product approaches 70 percent. Meanwhile, voters have gotten used to large federal spending programs. Does that sound like the United States?
Well, yes. But it also describes Canada in 1993. Yet, just 16 years later, Canada's federal debt has fallen from almost 70 percent to only 29 percent of GDP. Moreover, every year between 1997 and 2008, Canada's federal government had a budget surplus. In one fiscal year, 2000-2001, its surplus was a whopping 1.8 percent of GDP. If the U.S. government had such a surplus today, that would amount to a cool $263 billion rather than the current deficit of over $1.5 trillion.
How did the Canadian government manage such a turnaround? Since Canada is,...

No one can predict the long-term outcome of the so-called Arab Spring with assurance. Up to now, that uncertainty has protected democratizing optimists, who argue that the Middle East's internal turmoil, and accompanying set-backs to American interests in the short and medium term, will be balanced out by democratic evolution over time.
In effect, the optimists' core scenario - which envisions Islamist parties tamed and transformed into peaceful liberal democrats by multi-decade entanglement in the constraints of electoral politics-protects the democratizing vision from disconfirmation. No matter how bad things look for Western interests today, optimists can say that this is actually part of the plan. Only through the rough and tumble of bickering and necessary compromise over constitutions, elections, and day-to-day legislative politics can a genuinely liberal democracy emerge, we are told. If Islamists or renascent Arab nationalists get...

Geert Wilders is on trial in the Netherlands for telling the truth about Islam. In the course of his trial he was told that truth was irrelevant. Eighteen of his witnesses who could testify to the truth of Islam were denied participation in his defense.
Here is the transcript of his final address to the Court..
I am here because of what I have said. I am here for having spoken. I have spoken, I speak and I shall continue to speak. Many have kept silent, but not Pim Fortuyn, not Theo Van Gogh, and not I.
I am obliged to speak. For the Netherlands is under threat of Islam. As I have argued many times, Islam is chiefly an ideology. An ideology of hatred, of destruction, of conquest. It is my strong conviction that Islam is a threat to Western values, to freedom of speech, to the equality of men and women, of heterosexuals and homosexuals, of believers and unbelievers.
All over the world we can see how freedom is fleeing from Islam. Day by day we see our freedoms dwindle.

Posted by Bill Levinson Egyptian journalist attacked during Cairo protest The attackers had torn the journalist's clothes to pieces before she managed to call police, the reports said. A police officer who arrived at the site pulled the journalist, who was about to lose her consciousness, out of the crowd and called her a taxi, but he was then attacked himself by the demonstrators, who stole his pistol and radio set. A local imam reportedly took the police officer to hospital, where doctors described his condition as grave. She makes some good points. by Bill Levinson The point of this piece is to highlight the absurdity of the false concepts of "moderate Islam" and "extremist Islam." There is no more "moderate Islam" than there is "moderate Nazism." This nomenclature is willfully manipulative propaganda and must be called out and corrected whenever and wherever it is used. "There is no moderate or immoderate Islam. Islam is Islam and that's it." - Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister of Turkey Come to think of it, wasn't Nazism the last ideology (prior to militant Islam) that said openly that it planned to conquer the world? By Ted Belman I was disturbed by three news items this week U.S. to offer Turkey major role in Mideast talks if it stops Gaza flotilla Palestinians in Lebanon to postpone "Naksa Day" march to Israel border Cairo shuts Gaza's Rafah crossing to free passage at US insistence I keep wondering why is the US doing this. Remember Gates was part of the Iraq Study Group along with Baker and Hamilton. Their Report was embraced by Pres Bush who was reeling from attacks by the anti-war groups in America. This report set the state for American policy in the ME and was followed by Bush and Obama. It advocated "a staged retreat from the Iraq war and an accommodation with Syria and Iran". But more important, the Report held that "The key to the American security dilemma in the region, ... was an Arab-Israeli settlement that would drain the swamps of anti-Americanism and reconcile the Arab "moderates" to the Pax Americana." These realists also believed that "George W. Bush's entire diplomacy of freedom, were projects of folly-romantic, self deluding undertakings in the Arab world."

BOEING IS A GREAT AMERICAN COMPANY. Recently it has built a second production line-its other is in Washington State-in South Carolina for its 787 Dreamliner airplane, creating 1,000 jobs there so far. Who knows what factors led to its decision to do this? As with all such business decisions, there were many. But the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)-a five-member agency created in 1935 by the Wagner Act (about which I will speak momentarily)-has taken exception to this decision, ultimately based on the fact that South Carolina is a right-to-work state. That is, South Carolina, like 21 other states today, protects a worker's right not only to join a union, but also to make the choice not to join or financially support a union. Washington State does not. The general counsel of the NLRB, on behalf of the International Association of Machinists union, has issued a complaint against Boeing, which, if successful, would require it to move its South Carolina operation back to Washington State. This would represent an unprecedented act of intervention by the federal government that appears, on its face, un-American. But it is an act long in the making, and boils down to a fundamental misunderstanding of freedom.

| Record of Obama Changing his Name in Canada? |
|
The moment would be surreal were it not so reminiscent: An arrogant Democratic president had committed an impeachable offense, lied to the American people, and dared Congress to do anything about it. Incensed congressmen of both parties asked, negotiated, and threatened until they realized they had no alternative but to take action. Then, the Republican leadership stepped in to save their party's, and their country's, worst enemy.
This is not a Clinton-era flashback but a rehearsal of this week's actions in Congress.
Barack Obama's indiscretion is more serious than a stained dress and a lie under oath during a civil trial. Obama sent an already overstretched American military to take sides in the Libyan civil war, as part of the NATO operation known as Operation Odyssey Dawn. Now, well over 60 days into the fight, the war proceeds with no sign of Congressional approval and a promise of "no let-up."
By the most liberal reading of the War Powers Resolution, this is illegal. Yet when Congress decided to act, the Republican leadership came to the rescue.
Boehner Saves Barry's Bacon....
Some of us have long argued the Obama administration is pushing a two-track system of financial bondage for the nation: tremendous profits and options for the ruling class, with cradle-to-grave socialism for the penniless underclass. In between, the middle class will be squeezed into non-existence.
Enter Neal Kumar Katyal, the acting Solicitor General and former assistant to Elena Kagan. Katyal told the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati on Wednesday that there is a simple way to avoid being forced to purchase individual health care insurance or being penalized for failing to do so: make less money....
If you want an indication of why Republicans may lose to Obama in 2012, look at the pass they are giving him over his illegal war in Libya. Nothing is more important than committing a nation to war. The military intervention could be the basis of impeachment charges. But Republican leaders in the House-and Republican Senator John McCain in the Senate-don't want to hold Obama accountable.
We have pointed out that the war is illegal and that the media-and now the House Republican leaders-have failed to acknowledge the facts.
On the other hand, there is growing media fascination with "Weinergate"....
Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, announced today that it has uncovered documents from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that indicate officials at the FCC colluded with the leftist Free Press organization to publicly push a new plan to regulate the Internet under the FCC's so-called "net neutrality" program. Judicial Watch obtained the documents....
Memorial Day is a time for reflection about the sacrifices of the many men and women who gave it all so that we could enjoy the blessings of Liberty. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, this time of year we yearned for long, sunny summer days and the end of the rainy season.
Traditionally we visit the graves of beloved family who have gone on before, but this year we celebrated in an entirely different way. This Memorial Day weekend, our 23-year-old son married his college sweetheart, so we as parents are in a mood of reflection....

Stand With Paul Ryan Against Obama

If we do not stand up now, the failure of President Obama and Democrats in Congress to protect our Medicare system will lead to certain bankruptcy, rationing, and benefit cuts. Stand up now!
Together, we can save and strengthen Medicare. Congressman Paul Ryan has a plan to put Medicare on a sustainable path for hard-working Americans while preserving the benefits of current seniors. Click here to stand with him now! But rather than offer their own solutions, Democrats and the liberal media have launched a coordinated attack campaign clai ming Congressman Ryan's plan would "kill Medicare." Not true.
With 10,000 baby boomers joining the Medicare rolls every day and health care costs spiraling out of control, the only sure way to kill Medicare is to do nothing.
That, in fact, is the Democrat's plan: Do nothing. Plus, they've created a new 15-member rationing board, known as IPAB, for the sole purpose of cutting seniors' Medicare by hundreds of billions of dollars.
Doing nothing to save Medicare will lead directly to bankruptcy, rationing, and benefit cuts. Don't let Obama and the Democrats do nothing-sign our petition to tell them you stand with Paul Ryan.In Liberty,
Matt Kibbe President and CEO, FreedomWorks
P.S. We have REAL solutions to save Medicare, but we must have your help to do it. A donation of $25, $50 or $100 helps FreedomWorks mobilize opposition to Barack Obama's do-nothing plan to bankrupt the program as soon as possible. Stop the Train Wreck at the Obama EPA

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is heading for a regulatory "Train Wreck" with an agenda that will further spike energy costs and devastate America's economic recovery. This includes:
-New taxes that will impact thousands of businesses-large and small
-Massive new regulatory taxes on electricity
-Costly new regulations on cement plants
-New restrictions effecting common household products and materials
-New regulations on emissions that would force many communities to impose costly new restrictions on consumers and small businesses
To protect American jobs and preserv e the freedom of consumers, we must take action now and demand that Congress introduces legislation to stop the regulatory train wreck at the Obama EPA. Read More >>

Stop The Internet Sales Tax
Last week Governor Rick Perry issued his first veto this year on HB 2403, an Internet sales tax bill which FreedomWorks opposed. By vetoing HB 2403 Governor Perry has saved taxpayers and business alike from burdensome regulations and new taxes. FreedomWorks commends Governor Perry's bold action, and urges other governors to follow suit.
The biggest battle has yet to come. Senators Dick Durbin (D-Ill) and Mike Enzi (R-Wyo) plan to introduce the Main Street Fairness Act of 2011, a bipartisan bill that has been in the works for months, which would create a quasi-federalized tax plan for states to tax Internet sales. If passed, the bill would stifle Internet entrepreneurship, increase taxes, and create new government regulations. FreedomWorks will continue to oppose these hurtful legislations at both the state and federal level. Click below to take action, call your Senators and urge them to oppose the Main Street Fairness Act of 2011. Read More >> |

Cain: With All Due Respect, Obama Couldn't Run a Pizza Joint
Thursday, 02 Jun 2011 By David A. Patten
Fast-rising GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain, the former Godfather's Pizza CEO emerging as a strong contender in the Iowa caucuses, blasted President Barack Obama's leadership abilities in an exclusive Newsmax interview, saying Obama "could not run one Godfather's pizza restaurant." Cain, who has been rising fast in the polls after his impressive showing in last month's presidential debate in South Carolina, called the president as an indecisive leader who has lost most Americans' confidence. "The president has demonstrated that he lacks leadership in a whole lot of ways [and] could not run a company," Cain told Newsmax. "And I don't mean to be disrespectful: He could not run one Godfather's pizza restaurant. "Instead of being decisive, he dithers," Cain said. "Instead of having a management structure where he can entrust to some key people responsibility, he has an organization that is unmanageable. When he added 36 czars to go with the ones he already inherited, that is an unmanageable structure. So nobody knows who's in charge."

2012 Update
- Mark your calendars! Seven candidates have agreed to participate in a presidential debate in New Hampshire on Monday, June 13th. The participating candidates are: Rep. Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, former Speaker Newt Gingrich, Rep. Ron Paul, Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Gov. Mitt Romney and former Sen. Rick Santorum. Rudy Giuliani, Jon Huntsman and Gov. Sarah Palin declined to participate.
- In an interview with Newsmax, Herman Cain blasted Barack Obama's leadership ability, saying, "The president has demonstrated that he lacks leadership in a whole lot of ways [and] could not run a company. And I don't mean to be disrespectful: He could not run one Godfather's pizza restaurant."
- Former North Carolina Senator John Edwards was indicted today on charges of making false statements, receiving illegal campaign contributions and conspiracy. The charges stem from allegations that the former Democrat vice presidential nominee and two-time presidential candidate used nearly $1 million in campaign donations to support his mistress.
Why have I included this news about Edwards in the 2012 update? I can't tell you how many reporters over the years told me that Edwards was sleazy. But none of them ever dared to print what they knew about the liberal candidate many saw as the next JFK. The professional "journalists" left it to a tabloid to report the truth.
Do you remember the New York Times breaking the news of John McCain's alleged affair with a lobbyist? There was no proof, and the Times eventually settled a defamation lawsuit out of court. But it did not hesitate to smear the GOP nominee. In other words, the "mainstream" media will cover up for the left and lie about conservatives. Expect to see more such "journalism" in the days and weeks ahead. - In the past few weeks, I have received messages from despondent conservatives regarding a column allegedly written by popular conservative columnist Dr. Walter Williams. It explains why Barack Obama will be reelected in 2012 "no matter what."
I have tremendous respect for Dr. Williams, as do many conservatives. That's why I am pleased to report that Dr. Williams did not write it. The column was an April Fool's Day hoax that has unfortunately snared many good people.
As you will read below, Obama is beatable. But 2012 will very likely be a base election, meaning whichever side turns out more of its base wins. I guarantee that you will see more hoaxes like the Williams column or distorted and false media reports trying to demoralize conservatives between now and Election Day.
Don't fall for the left's psychological warfare. Please ask us before you forward or share anything like the fake Williams column that is intended to demoralize conservative voters!
Devastating Jobs Report
Jaws dropped all over Washington this morning when the Labor Department released its official employment figures for May: Just 54,000 new jobs were created last month, and the unemployment rate rose to 9.1%. Economists had predicted gains of 160,000 jobs.
Worse yet, the government revised downward its job creation figures for March and April, so there were actually 40,000 fewer jobs created in those months than previously thought. This is bad news for job seekers, and bad news for America.
But it is potentially devastating news for President Obama. Liberal elites in Washington are in panic mode - and with good reason. On Wednesday the New York Times sounded the alarm, writing, "No American president since Franklin Delano Roosevelt has won a second term in office when the unemployment rate on Election Day topped 7.2 percent."
President Obama will no doubt blame the current state of the economy on George W. Bush. But Obama has been president for 864 days now, and it is hard to think of a single day of good economic news since Obama took office.
When Obama was inaugurated in January 2009, the unemployment rate was 7.6%. Obama's stimulus bill was supposed to prevent the unemployment rate from exceeding 8%. We can see how well that has turned out.
Defeating an incumbent president is never easy. But do not despair, my friends. It is very difficult to make the case that Obama deserves reelection when his campaign cannot point to a single good day for the economy during his presidency. Everything he has done has failed.
Personnel Is Policy
There is an old saying in Washington: "Personnel is policy." One explanation for why the economy is struggling is to look at the people Obama has appointed and the philosophy they bring with them into government. Consider the president's pick this week for Commerce Secretary, John Bryson.
Bryson is a co-founder of the Natural Resources Defense Council, a radical left-wing environmental group, and a big believer in Big Government mandates. Last year, he told an audience at the University of California at Berkeley, "Greenhouse gas legislation, either with a tax or with cap and trade ... has the advantage of politically sort of hiding the fact that you have a tax - but that's what you're trying to do." By the way, Obama's cap and trade bill would have amounted to a tax of nearly $1,800 a year on every American family.
But there's an even better way than taxes to get results. According to Bryson, government mandates force businesses to act immediately, rather than waiting for "market signals."
It is very telling with gas prices near record highs that Obama would appoint a radical environmentalist as Commerce Secretary. This may increase your pain at the pump.
But there's more. Several weeks ago, I provided a link to a video of Rep. Cory Gardner (R-CO), one of CWF's endorsed House freshmen, desperately trying to get a straight answer out of a top EPA official as to whether his agency even considers jobs when it conducts an economic analysis. Now we know why the EPA administrator was so evasive.
Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-MO), another of our endorsed House freshmen, got a letter this week from the EPA claiming that it "is prohibited from considering costs" when it sets regulatory policies.
Wait a minute... Didn't President Obama issue an executive order requiring federal agencies to reevaluate anti-business regulations? If Obama were really concerned about job-killing regulations, he would not appoint someone like Bryson to be Secretary of Commerce!
They're Celebrating At The Fed
While the economy is melting down, home values are plummeting and the ranks of the unemployed grow, the Federal Reserve Bank in Richmond, Virginia, is celebrating. Celebrating what, you ask? Gay pride month, of course! According to this report, the rainbow flag representing LGBT pride will fly below the American flag in front of the Federal Reserve building in Richmond all month long.
This is the same Fed that loaned billions of dollars to foreign banks; refuses to provide any transparency; and is the running the printing presses non-stop, devaluing the dollar and contributing to inflation, including sky-high gas prices. No doubt you are relieved to know it is committed to homosexual rights too.
Media Bias
The media's bias against conservatives is well-known and increasingly well-documented. (Here and here. ) In addition to promoting a left-wing agenda, it also distorts reality, such as portraying so many homosexual characters on TV that the public believes 25% of the population is gay.
But when it comes to minority groups that cannot be easily exploited for political purposes the media are often AWOL. For example, American Values' Daniel Allott found that Hollywood has virtually ignored men and women with disabilities. This bias is particularly disturbing when so many of our nation's heroes are returning from the battlefield with disabilities. You can read more here.

New York City embarrasses itself and America: no toilets at new Ground Zero Memorial
Jun 05, 2011 06:13 am | Coach Collins
By Suzanne Eovaldi, staff writer
Why is there no outcry over the insult to 9/11 families, would be visitors, or to us average U.S. citizens over the NO TOILETS oversight at the soon to be opened Ground Zero Memorial?
Only the Australian media are telling us what really is going on. "City Hall officials conceded that bathrooms were left out of the plans for the memorial," reveal staff writers for the News Queensland, on 28 May, 20ll.
N.Y. Mayor Michael Bloomberg's spokesman Andrew Brent told the Aussie Press, "Visitors will be provided with information to help plan their visit, including being advised that BATHROOMS WILL NOT BE ACCESSIBLE on the site!"
This is simply unbelievable! A final snafu like this in the face of all of their other failures surrounding this hallowed ground is the final straw in the movable haystack of the incompetence of New York City's liberal Democrats. The ongoing closed door meeting angst will never be revealed ... Continue Reading:New York City embarrasses itself and America: no toilets at new Ground Zero Memorial

HR.1540: National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012
Jun 04, 2011 06:13 am | Coach Collins
By Jim Emerson, staff writer
With little fanfare and by a vote of 322 - 96, HR.1540: National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 passed the House on May 26th. In this bill the House: added provisions which will require that "foreign terrorists" detained by the United States be considered enemy combatants and tried in military tribunals rather than the civilian court system and forbade the introduction of ground forces in Libya. It also eliminated the U.S. Institute of Peace, forbade military installations from hosting same-sex weddings and barred Defense Department chaplains or civilians from performing such ceremonies as part of their official duties.
Not so fast
In compliance with Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) the Government defines marriage as a legal union between one man and one woman. The military cannot ignore federal law. Despite all of the rhetoric of Attorney General Holder about DOMA being unconstitutional it is still the law. ... Continue Reading:HR.1540: National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012

What Seniors Have to Fear From ObamaCare
By John C. Goodman
6/4/2011
While charges and counter-charges about Medicare are flying back and forth in Washington, hardly anyone seems to have noticed that Medicare's financial problems have already been solved. They were solved by the health reform bill enacted last year, what some people call ObamaCare.
So why isn't this front page news? Why aren't people dancing in the street? Why isn't the Obama administration boasting about this accomplishment far and wide? Probably because Medicare's financial problems are slated to be solved by the unconscionable rationing of health care for the elderly and the disabled.

The SRC and the million-dollar turnstiles
Photo: Helen Gym
Worth a million dollars? Ask the SRC.
What would you buy for a million dollars worth of school money? Some modernized classrooms, you say? Noontime aides and community liaisons to replace the ones the District laid off at the beginning of the summer, perhaps?
How about a handful of turnstiles at District headquarters?
Last week, the School Reform Commission ratified Resolution A-28, a contract amendment with Elliott-Lewis Corporation for $1,006,959.43 for installation of security turnstiles. You can see those million dollar beauties above.
It's hard to imagine not only the million-dollar public cost of the turnstiles but why they're even needed when security guards at both entrances check visitors.
But perhaps what's most galling is that the SRC public resolution was passed after the turnstiles were installed at the beginning of the summer.
Zack Stalberg, head of the Committee of Seventy, said the SRC's behavior is "neither normal nor appropriate."
"Our view is that the public business should be done in public," Stalberg said. "It appears that this decision was made privately and ratified in public."
According to the Pennsylvania School Boards Association, approving public resolutions after the fact is not normal protocol, although there may be exceptions in cases of emergency. Such decisions, however, should be reserved for rare purposes, said Pamela Price, director of PSBA's board development services.
"It's our position that it is the board that makes the decisions - the school board is the governing body for the district," said Price, who conducts trainings for school boards across the state on behalf of PSBA.
Price noted that budgeting and public input are just two of many reasons why boards need discussion before taking action. School boards need to make sure an item has been appropriately budgeted. The public also plays a role.
"An important part of the decision-making process is public input and allowing the public the opportunity to comment on decisions made by the school board," Price said.
The SRC's million-dollar turnstile resolution is only the latest example of the SRC as a poorly managed entity. It has frequently flouted publicly held standards about an open and transparent process. It meets for hours behind closed doors. Since the departure of spirited commissioner Heidi Ramirez last summer, any level of substantive public discussion at an SRC meeting is a rare sighting.

Price Tag of Official Time Spent on Union Activities Grows
By Kellie Lunney, Government Executive
Updated: June 2, 2011 | 10:03 a.m. June 2, 2011 | 9:48 a.m.
The cost of official time used by federal employees participating in union activities increased nearly 7 percent between fiscal 2008 and fiscal 2009, according to a new report from the Office of Personnel Management.
The report, the subject of a Wednesday hearing on Capitol Hill, found that federal employees spent nearly 3 million hours of official time on union activities in 2009 at a cost of $129 million to taxpayers, an increase of $8 million from fiscal 2008. The number of official time hours used per bargaining unit employee on union matters during fiscal 2009, however, decreased slightly from fiscal 2008. "Official time costs represented less than two-tenths of 1 percent of the civilian personnel budget for federal civil service bargaining unit employees," Timothy Curry, deputy associate director of partnership and labor relations at OPM, testified before the House Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on the Federal Workforce, Postal Service and Labor Policy.

Energy price is at the top of the issues drastically slowing our economy. Obama is committed to repeat the mistakes made by the Greens and Socialists of Europe. I was very actively involved with the international Pb-Free movement in the electronics industry and I can tell you that it became more of a quasi-religious movement than a scientific based approach by the Greens.
We spent a fortune, with minimal effect on the environment, but reduced product Reliability and increased production costs.

The push to get "progressive energy policies" through administrative rules/regs (thereby bypassing Congress and the will of the American people) doesn't end with the Dept. of Energy or the EPA. Reporting from Washington - President Obama on Tuesday nominated former Edison International Chairman and Chief Executive John E. Bryson to be Commerce Secretary, tapping an environmental lawyer-turned-corporate executive in hopes of reaching out to a business community that has been critical of the administration. If confirmed by the Senate, Bryson, 67, would replace Gary Locke, the former governor of Washington who was nominated in March to be the new ambassador to China. READ MORE:

Subject: Gasland director defends not revealing full facts in documentary
We wanted you to be the first to see our new video which reveals how environmental filmmakers hide facts and science that does not fit their story.
Phelim went to a screening of
Gasland
, an Oscar nominated documentary, that makes outrageous and inaccurate claims about a type of gas drilling known as fracking.
Watch how Phelim called out Josh Fox, the director, for ignoring science because it did not fit his ideology.
And
watch the director having to admit
that the contradicting facts existed but he decided not to include them, because they were "not relevant".
Well, Josh, we will leave it to the public to decide whether this scientific data is relevant or not. And we will continue to push back against those who want to avoid inconvenient questions.
In the past, they
turned Phelim's microphone off for asking Al Gore
some inconvenient questions. They
threatened him with an armed guard
at the UN Climate Change conference in Copenhagen for asking an activist/scientist difficult questions about Climategate. Then there was the time Phelim was
assaulted on live television
for the crime of taking a skeptical look at climate alarmism.
We will continue to question these people and show how they hide facts and cover-up inconvenient science and we hope you will forward these videos to anybody you feel should know about them.
Thanks for you support

10 SWEEPING VICTORIES IN THE HOUSE!
We didn't have just 1 victory in the House of Representatives this week, BUT 10 VICTORIES IN ALL!!!
In fact, every immigration amendment vote to the 2012 Homeland Security spending bill the past two days went our way.
Rep. Jared Polis of Colorado wrapped and delivered a great present to us when he requested a roll call vote on his amendment to end the 287(g) local enforcement program. His amendment was defeated with broad bi-partisan support with 75% of the votes cast opposing his amendment!
Read Roy's detailed descriptions of all the votes.
All in all, the House passed amendments to:
- set aside funding for Border Patrol to eliminate look-out posts along the U.S.-Mexico border;
- set aside funding to hire additional Shadow Wolves who track down smugglers along the border;
- reallocate funds to increase funding for the 287(g) program by nearly 20%;
- reallocate funding to increase support for the Law Enforcement Support Center;
- ensure that funding provided in the spending bill is used to enforce existing federal law requiring the detention of illegal aliens who are violent criminals awaiting deportation;
- withhold funding from cities that have sanctuary city policies in place;
- prohibit the Administration from offering amnesty through "deferred action";
- require all DHS contractors to use E-Verify to check new hires; and
- reallocate funds to build cell towers providing full service along the entire U.S.-Mexico border.
For any of our activists who are concerned about the federal budget and homeland security, all of the amendments are budget neutral and only reallocate funding that was set aside for executive management of the department.
Your phone calls on Wednesday afternoon and all day Thursday certainly played a huge role in all of these victories! Now, we need you to fill your Rep.'s offices with faxes, thanking them or shaming them for their votes.
Visit our grade cards to see how this week's roll call votes have impacted your House Rep.'s immigration-reduction grades.
Thanks, Chris Chmielenski Director, Content & Activism
U.S. House Beefs Up Local Immigration Enforcement & Goes After Drug Cartel 'Spotter Nests' We've Long Warned About

By Roy Beck, Thursday, June 2, 2011 | Large and broad bi-partisan majorities of the U.S. House last night and today agreed to put significantly more money and oomph into key programs to reduce the illegal population of this country. These are just first steps that now have to get through the Senate. But we now have several roll call votes to know where all the Members of this new House stand on illegal immigration. House Votes to Preserve 287(g) Program |

| |
Thursday, June 2, 2011 |
The House overwhelmingly defeated an amendment to the 2012 Homeland Security spending bill offered by Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.) that would have defunded the 287(g) program. The amendment was defeated 107-to-313.

NumbersUSA will score votes (for Report Cards) on immigration amendments on DHS spending bill |

| |
By Roy Beck, Wednesday, June 1, 2011 |
In the middle of major partisan and parliamentary shenanigans in the U.S. House of Representatives this afternoon, we hope there will finally be some roll call votes on immigration amendments to the 2012 Homeland Security appropriations bill. These would be the first roll call votes of this new Congress (6 months into session). And they would provide a window into which Members want to continue the federal government's lax attitude about unlawfully present citizens of other countries being able to remain in this country to use up resources, jobs and taxpayer benefits.

Post Here the Names of Fallen Military You Knew (keeping alive Warren Beck's Memorial Day cemetery/flag obsession to remember) |
| |
By Roy Beck, Monday, May 30, 2011 |
Let's not allow Memorial Day to be a holiday of faceless, nameless, generic Americans who died in the uniformed service of their/our country. If you would like one more place to keep the names alive of somebody you knew, please name them in the Comments section below and say a word about them, if you choose. The three at the top of my list are Jerry Petty, Alan Ruddell and John Hanson -- fellow high school students from working class families who made the Supreme Sacrifice, their names engraved in the wall of the Vietnam Memorial. REMEMBERING EVEN THOSE IN ABANDONED CEMETERIES

Treasury to sell remaining Chrysler stake to Fiat
Treasury to net $560 on sale of interest in Chrysler
The Treasury said on Thursday it reached an agreement to sell its remaining 6 percent equity stake in Chrysler to Italy's Fiat (FIA.MI) in a deal that will net Washington $560 million.
The proceeds of the deal include the sale of the government's interest in a United Auto Workers healthcare trust fund, Treasury said in a mid-evening statement.

Obama, in Ohio, will promote auto industry rebound
President really selling this bailout thing
President Barack Obama is drawing attention to the auto industry's rebound, visiting a Chrysler plant in politically important Ohio as he seeks to highlight a rare bright spot in the sluggish economic recovery.
Obama was to travel to Toledo on Friday, making the latest in a string of domestic trips to promote his economic agenda and defend the much maligned government bailouts to Chrysler and General Motors. The president planned to speak to plant workers and local business owners about the significance of the industry's turnaround.

Obama solicitor general: If you don't like mandate, earn less money
Doesn't even try to hide his Marxism
President Obama's solicitor general, defending the national health care law on Wednesday, told a federal appeals court that Americans who didn't like the individual mandate could always avoid it by choosing to earn less money.
Neal Kumar Katyal, the acting solicitor general, made the argument under questioning before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in Cincinnati, which was considering an appeal by the Thomas More Law Center. (Listen to oral arguments here.) The three-judge panel, which was comprised of two Republican-appointed judges and a Democratic-appointed judge, expressed more skepticism about the government's defense of the health care law than the Fourth Circuit panel that heard the Virginia-based Obamacare challenge last month in Richmond. The Fourth Circuit panel was made up entirely of Democrats, and two of the judges were appointed by Obama himself.

Silence, vagueness from Democrats on Weiner photo
All quiet on the Weiner front
Publicly silent, fellow Democrats privately seethed Thursday over the distraction and furor surrounding the lewd photo sent from Rep. Anthony Weiner's Twitter account, even as he declared he was finished talking about it and wanted to move on.
Weiner's one-day, pun-laden media blitz a day earlier had only raised more questions about the embarrassing flap when he conceded he wasn't sure whether the waist-down photo of a man's bulging underpants was of him or not. His refusal to involve law enforcement because he said as a member of Congress he shouldn't get special treatment - instead turning the issue over to a private security company he hired - raised rather than answered questions.

Union enthusiasm for Obama re-election fades, AFL-CIO's Cheif Trumka says
Union to President, "You need us, and we know it"
President Barack Obama faces waning enthusiasm from union members as he prepares for his 2012 re- election bid, AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka said.
"It will be more challenging this time than it was last time to motivate our members," Trumka, 61, said in an interview today at Bloomberg's offices in Washington.

Officials plan to exterminate county's wild pigs
Feds hunt pigs Palin style
When it comes to controlling the spread of feral pigs in San Diego County, the public hunting effort isn't doing the job.
That has led federal agencies to launch an ambitious program that will use cage traps, corral traps, federal hunters with guns and dogs and even shooting from helicopters to exterminate the area's population of wild swine. Officials see the pigs as a threat to fragile ecosystems and public health and safety. Environmentalists worry about the damage wild pigs will do to the county's sensitive habitat, much of it rebounding from Southern California's catastrophic wildfires of the last decade.

Some Volt dealers take tax credit themselves
Even MSNBC doesn't like it
If you're desperate to get yourself into a Chevrolet Volt you might make a visit to the Kia dealer in Glendale, Calif. Though most Chevy dealers in the seven initial launch markets for the plug-in hybrid claim to be on back order, three "used" Volts are sitting on the Kia dealer's lot.
But don't expect much of a bargain. True, the asking price of $39,995 is a modest discount off the $41,000 sticker price. But a salesman at the suburban Los Angeles showroom said he did not believe the three Volts would qualify for the $7,500 federal tax credit allocated for buyers of new battery vehicles.

Why Barack Obama may be heading for electroral disaster in 2012
All out of 'Change'
On a recent visit to London I was struck by how much faith many British politicians, journalists and political advisers have in Barack Obama being re-elected in 2012. In the aftermath of the hugely successful Special Forces operation that took out Osama Bin Laden and a modest spike in the polls for the president, the conventional wisdom among political elites in Britain is overwhelmingly that Obama will win another four years in the Oval Office. Add to this a widespread perception of continuing disarray in the Republican race, as well as a State Visit to London that had the chattering classes worshipping at the feet of the US president, and you can easily see why Obama's prospects look a lot rosier from across the Atlantic.
But back in the United States, the reality looks a lot different. Many political leaders in Britain fail to understand the degree to which the American people are deeply unhappy with their president's poor handling of the economy. Nor have they grasped the epic scale of the defeat suffered by the president in the November mid-terms, and the emphatic rejection by a clear majority of Americans of the Big Government Obama agenda.

The GOP's dangerous arrogance
More lefty, "The govt short support demand" nonsense
An American default - or deliberate descent into another economic crisis - is unthinkable to most of global civil society. What great nation would do this to itself - or everyone else?
Nationally and globally, the economy is at a tipping point. The GOP, driven by invincible ignorance or cynical design - and perhaps both - is working overtime to trash the recovery with budget cuts that would drain demand from the economy - or a debt ceiling vote that could trigger a financial collapse equal to 2008, or perhaps unpredictably graver. For proof, all you had to do was listen to Mitt Romney's announcement speech today. In it, he made a smarmy attempt to blame Barack Obama for the economic pain actually caused by the dereliction of duty by George W. Bush & Co., pain that was then prolonged by the obstruction of congressional Republicans. Those legislators contrived successfully to limit the stimulus package, block a second one, and forthwith blame the stimulus that saved us from another Great Depression for the slow climb out of the Great Recession. Never, of course, did they mention that the America's deep deficits were generated by the fraudulent Bush war in Iraq and the unfair Bush tax cuts, which were founded on the false premise that they would pay for themselves.

Valedictorian fights judge's ban on graduation prayer
Judge says religious freedom ends at bowing to Mecca
The valedictorian of a high school in a San Antonio suburb where a judge has banned formal prayers at graduation ceremonies on Saturday is fighting for an opportunity to lead the crowd in prayer.
On Thursday, the North Texas-based Liberty Institute, a nonprofit that describes itself as seeking to limit government and promote Judeo-Christian values, filed a lawsuit on behalf of the valedictorian of Castroville's Medina Valley High School, Angela Hildenbrand.

Middle Class Parents Vouchers versus Billioniare Corporations
The House Republicans are considering giving $ 603,543,000, in this year alone to billionaire private corporations. This is $181, 113,000 more than Governor Corbett proposed.
The entire cost of SB 1, Vouchers/EITC over four years, is: $ 734, 947, 772
Middle Class Parents Vouchers and Education Improvement Tax Credits
SB 1 is designed to subsidize, as required by Article III, section 14 of the Pennsylvania Constitution, the education of children, particularly the poor caught in violent and educationally dysfunctional schools and middle class struggling economically.
Higher Education's Subsidized Princes and Princesses:
UPENN's president Amy Gutmann's compensation: $1,367,000 and Penn State's Graham( $800, 592 according to Journal of Higher Education) flies in one of Penn State's three airplanes from its own airport. UPITT's Chancellor;$600,045, Temple U President Anne Weaver Hart; $602, 403) UPITT Chancellor Mark Nordenberg received a 5.7% increase in 2010, $26,500, for a total annual salary of $486,000. This is base salary and not total compensation.
A change in course directing money away from billionaire private corporations to those who need it most may be an idea worth considering. Misallocating taxpayer resources is not in the public interest or advance the general welfare.

Tennessee Trumps Wisconsin: Kills Teacher Collective Bargaining. Dead.
By Kyle Olson On June 5, 2011
To fix public schools, you have to control public schools.
And there's little control when teachers unions, with their self-serving agendas, question every cost-cutting proposal and reform on the table.
That's why so many state governments have taken swift action to limit the power of organized labor in public schools. Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana, Idaho and Michigan were the first, and Tennessee added itself to the list on Wednesday.
Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam affixed his signature on House Bill 130 and Senate Bill 113, ending collective bargaining and giving local school boards the full authority to operate their districts in the manner they choose.
That doesn't mean the unions are shut out of the discussion. The new laws create a process called "collaborative conferencing," where the school board, administrators and union officials will be forced to sit and discuss many of the normal issues, including salary, insurance, grievance procedures and working conditions.

It's official: Glenn's last day on Fox has been announced -- June 30th will be the final episode. But this is less of an end, and more of a beginning. Glenn and co discuss on radio today...WATCH.
Voodoo Obamanomics: Unemployment rises to 9.1%
You gotta love the MSM - the headline of this article is 'Employment Growth Slows Sharply', as if this administration has ever gotten the economy on the right track. It's as if they are the only ones that could not see through the government's 'let's throw money at the problem and hope it goes away' strategy. That's never worked and never will - and the stagnant economy is another unfortunate evidence of it.
Sad: Judge bans Prayer at graduation
A Texas judge has banned religious words from a high school graduation ceremony and forbids them from using specific words like 'prayer' and 'Amen' at the graduation. Are we becoming so thin skinned that people in TEXAS can't deal with hearing an Amen? Glenn has a solution for the PC challenged town - get it HERE.
Glenn's Newest Book - THE ORIGINAL ARGUMENT
As the 2012 election heats up you're going to hear a lot of noise from a lot of people about a lot of different issues. Before all of that starts it's important to know what you really believe-and that can only come by knowing the truth about our history. To help, Glenn has put together a new book, THE ORIGINAL ARGUMENT, that updates the Federalist Papers into readable modern English that anyone can understand. It goes on sale in just 11 days, but you can pre-order a copy from AMAZON.COM or BN.COM right now for under $9.

Former U.S. Congresswoman wants America to adopt 'Gaddafi style' Former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney says when she previously visited Libya she learned about the 'Green Book' of politics written by Gaddafi. She loved it so much she actually thinks it's what America should do -- which is weird because she failed to mention her 'Gaddafi style government' platform the last time she ran. This is stunning audio, even for this socialist liberal. Is this treason? Glenn, Pat and Stu debate on radio today.
