See Shocking Excerpts From Tucson's 'Mexican-American Studies' Curriculum

The Blaze | by Jonathon M. Seidl | Posted on April 28, 2011

shocking excerpts from 'Mexican-American' studiesEarlier today we brought you the story of how students chained themselves together at a local Tucson school board chamber to protest administrators who wanted to change the Mexican-American studies curriculum. Currently, a class that teaches history from a Mexican-American perspective is allowed to substitute for the required U.S. history class. But the school superintendent also wants to reevaluate the entire program (and possibly get rid of the class),* in part because it advocates the overthrow of the U.S. government.

Six Suicidal Assumptions about Islam

1. Islam is about Muslims - no, Islam is about everyone. Islam has rules about everything, and that includes non-Muslims. 61% of the Koran is about non-Muslims. It has rules about whether or not Muslims should befriend non-Muslims; about how to treat non-Muslims captured in war; about whether non-Muslim women can be raped; the attitude to take towards the possessions of non-Muslims. Most of these rules are unfavourable or hostile toward non-Muslims.

 Act! for America

Come Meet Brigitte!!

Brigitte Gabriel to Speak
in Baltimore, Maryland, and
Virginia Beach, Virginia

It's my privilege to invite you to two special events featuring Brigitte Gabriel, ACT! for America President. The events will be held in Baltimore, Maryland, and Virginia Beach, Virginia, and are free and open to the public.

Here are the details:

Date: May 23, 2011
Time: 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Location:

Central Christian
7411 Rossville Blvd
Baltimore, Maryland

Date: May 24, 2011
Time: 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Location:

Rock Church
640 Kempsville Road
Virginia Beach, Virginia

The events of the past eighteen months have been a sobering wake-up call to America. Without question, the threats radical Islam poses to America have increased, and with the election of a new Congress prospects for positive changes to address this threat are promising.

Brigitte will discuss these threats to our safety and security, such as...

  • The growing threat of homegrown jihad, with the number of such jihadist plots skyrocketing over the past two years.
  • How terrorists are exploiting our porous southern border, often working with drug cartels.
  • The increasingly militant-and successful-effort by Islamists worldwide to suppress free speech and criminalize any criticism of Islam.
  • The Muslim Brotherhood threat and how Islamic sharia law is creeping into America.

But even more important than this, Brigitte will spell out the strategies and tactics ACT! for America is employing to effectively fight back against these threats.

Brigitte's message will be illuminating, at times disturbing and even shocking-but ultimately inspiring, empowering, and filled with hope!

You will hear first-hand how ACT! for America is successfully rolling back the tide of radical Islam...how we don't have to live in fear or resign ourselves to the inevitability of the threats arrayed against us...and how we will prevail.

I also encourage you to email this to people you know who might be interested in attending. In 2008 we did an event like this in Indiana and one of our members in Oregon found out about it and emailed a friend in Indiana-who then brought 21 people to the event!!

We're sending this email to all our members in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, Washington DC, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and North Carolina, because we know, from prior experience, that many people are willing to travel to hear Brigitte speak and they forward announcements like these to people they know who live in the area.

I know those of you who have heard Brigitte will agree-you don't want to miss this! It will be an event people will be talking about for a long time to come!

Invite your friends and come join us in either Baltimore or Virginia Beach. We look forward to seeing you on May 23rd or May 24th.

Yours for a safe and free America,

Guy Rodgers
Executive Director

"Is it racist to criticize Islam?"

America's rich heritage of free speech and public debate is one of the hallmarks of our country's greatness.

But when it comes to the topic of Islam, rather than engaging in honest debate about such aspects as jihad, sharia law, treatment of "infidels," or treatment of women, what we frequently see instead is a barrage of personal attacks intended to muzzle any and all debate.

One of the more vile is the false accusation of "racism." "Citizen Warrior" has posted a powerful rebuttal of this accusation (see below) which we encourage you to read and forward to everyone you know.

Is it Racist to Criticize Islam?

Friday

Is Ayaan Hirsi Ali a racist? She was born in Somalia, from which she escaped to avoid an arranged marriage, and she eventually became a member of Parliament in the Netherlands.

She helped produce a film with Theo Van Gogh which criticized Islam's treatment of women. Van Gogh was shot to death by a Muslim in retaliation, and a note was pinned to his chest with a knife - a note that threatened Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

The RINO (reverend in name only) Terry Jones is like his fellow RINO, Fred Phelps, but in political drag.

Jones, the "pastor" (PINO?) of the tiny and inconsequential Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Fla., was jailed last week in Dearborn, Mich., "following a jury trial that found he was likely to create a 'breach of the peace' for plans to protest outside the Islamic Center of America in Dearborn," according to the Detroit News. Jones and his associate Wayne Sapp were taken into custody after they refused to post a $1 "peace bond." A judge then barred Jones and Sapp from entering the property of the Islamic Center -- the largest mosque in the U.S. -- for three years. The two posted bond and were released, but they promised to return on Friday.

1. McConnell Should Appoint DeMint to Finance Committee

Last week, Nevada Senator John Ensign resigned his seat, creating a vacancy on several Senate committees. While Congressman Dean Heller will fill Ensign's Senate seat, a member with more seniority will be appointed to his coveted slot on the Senate Finance Committee. The Finance Committee is considered a prized "Super-A committee" due to the extent and relevance of its jurisdiction, which includes trade, taxes, Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Unlike its House counterpart, the Senate Finance Committee also encompasses the jurisdiction of the House Ways and Means Committee. This panel is clearly the most important Senate committee in the realm of domestic policy. Who better to sit on that committee than Jim DeMint?

2. Uncivil War: States' Attorneys General Rip Into Union-Controlled NLRB in Letter

President Obama's union-controlled NLRB isn't making any friends these days (unless you count union bosses, of course).

Earlier this week, Obama's labor board filed its lawsuit against Arizona and South Dakota for those states' voters having the gall to pass amendments favoring the preservation of their right to a secret ballot.

House votes to restrict unions - and they are democrats

Measure would curb bargaining on health care

House lawmakers voted overwhelmingly last night to strip police officers, teachers, and other municipal employees of most of their rights to bargain over health care, saying the change would save millions of dollars for financially strapped cities and towns.

The 111-to-42 vote followed tougher measures to broadly eliminate collective bargaining rights for public employees in Ohio, Wisconsin, and other states. But unlike those efforts, the push in Massachusetts was led by Democrats who have traditionally stood with labor to oppose any reduction in workers' rights.

Obama Finally Says 'Drill Baby Drill' (No, Not You America)

by Michelle Malkin on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 4:35am

**Written by Doug Powers

It's a start: President Obama is finally saying "drill baby drill." If the story stopped right there I'd give him this week's Sarah Palin Awakenings award. The problem is that Obama is calling on every oil producing nation with the exception of the United States to increase the supply in a desperate attempt to save his presiden... I mean... lower the price at the pump in Anywhere, USA.

From Reuters:

President Barack Obama said on Tuesday oil producing countries should increase their output to curb the rise in gasoline prices because "if we're not growing, they're not going to be making money either."

"We're talking to oil producers around the world and letting them know it's in their interest to make sure that high oil prices don't end up hurting the world economy," Obama said in an interview with the CBS affiliate WTKR in Hampton Roads, Virginia.

Isn't the US part of the "world economy"? You wouldn't think so given how America's oil production potential feels more ignored than an air traffic controller's NoDoz dealer.

Obama isn't including the US in his call to increase oil output - quite the opposite. The Environmental Protection Agency just blocked Shell from beginning to drill the estimated 27 billion barrels of oil that the US Geological Survey estimates is under the US portion of the Arctic near Alaska. The west Texas oil industry could be stopped in its tracks because of a friggin' lizard. The Gulf drilling moratorium has helped crippled domestic oil production for years to come along with killing who knows how many jobs. Additionally, the administration wants to end billions in subsidies to domestic oil companies all while the US is set to loan nearly $3 billion to Colombia for refinery upgrades in that country. These are some good places to start before going around panhandling for oil.

What makes Obama's "increase output" plea even more perplexing is that high gas prices are now apparently not the fault of speculators as was previously scapegoated. Now I'm more confused than Janet Napolitano after being told that an IED was found on a Texas roadside while wondering why it was necessary to close an entire highway because of a contraceptive.

Suddenly convincing oil producing countries to increase output will lower the price at the pump? That was an easy concept. It's funny how fast somebody can find those silver bullets when they're really looking.

If Obama wants to know what's contributing to high gas prices for Americans, all he's got to do is ask his EPA administrator:

"What appears to be the most important factor at work is our dependence on imported energy," she said. "This is what leaves us vulnerable to jumps in prices. When something changes thousands of miles away, the American people pay for it at the pump."

This comes from the same EPA that will deny a domestic drilling permit if there's a **titmouse within 150 miles... 200 miles if it's got asthma.

Dollar Resumes Slide As US Jobless Claims Jump, GDP Shows Slowdown

APRIL 28, 2011,

By Stephen L. Bernard
Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)-- The dollar didn't need any more bad news, but got it Thursday. The U.S. currency was pushed down further after economic indicators pointed to a dismal employment picture and slowing economic growth.

First-time claims for unemployment benefits jumped by 25,000 to 429,000, indicating employers might have recently slowed their hiring recently. Economists were expecting claims to fall to 395,000.

At the same time, gross domestic product rose at a modest 1.8% pace in the first quarter, matching economists' forecasts. However, the pace of expansion is much weaker than it was at the end of 2010, when the economy was growing at 3.1% pace.

Obama Birth Certificate Scam? 2011-04-27 Obama.mp4
Obama Birth Certificate Scam? 2011-04-27 Obama.mp4

Obama's Birth Certificate: The "copy" the White House released is not a copy. It is manufactured. This video goes through the proof, and it's much more than the Illustrator "breadcrumbs" that others have found and talked about.

Hi folks,

In general, I try  to avoid the topic of Barack Obama in these broadcasts, but something has happened that is so explosive and important for this country that you must be made aware of it.  First, a little background.

Yesterday, I was engaged in a mild email dispute with a friend over Obama when he brought up the "birther" controversy.  This being the day when Obama officially put his long form birth certificate out on the white house website for all to see, I decided to take a look at it, and right at that time another buddy called and told me to zoom in on it...

HOLY CRAP! (I don't use those words lightly!)

When I zoomed in, I found all sorts of problems that you can easily check out for yourself: http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/rss_viewer/birth-certificate-long-form.pdf

To see what I mean, zoom in on the signature in box 18a.  You can clearly see that the "unham Obama" is pixilated quite differently from the "Ann D" and the signature immediately under it in box 19a.

If you look around the document, you'll see the same kind of inconsistencies all over the place.  For example, zoom in and compare the X's in boxes 7e and 7g.

This buddy happened to have Adobe Photoshop, and he told me something that was even more weird:  He could plainly see that this document was "layered," meaning that its text was not all on one layer like you would get when you photocopy a document.  Instead, various letters and words, as well as the boxes they filled, were all on different layers -- something that could only happen if someone had specifically doctored the document by adding differnt parts of the document at different times.  These different layers explained the variations in pixilation I noticed when zooming in.

I showed my findings to a few friends, and one of them sent me this DEVASTATING video that shows EXACTLY how the document was layered and what the individual layers look like.  It's less than 4 minutes long, and trust me, this is DEFINITELY worth your time to view --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQAqvtXenKg&feature=player_embedded

At this point, I'm not sure what to think.  Could it be that this doctored document is an attempt to falsify a birth certificate that doesn't exist?  Could it be that there really IS a long-form birth certificate, but this fake is being presented to throw the Republicans into a tizzy and then make them all look like fools, thereby ruining their credibility in the upcoming elections?

I don't know.  All I know is that the long form birth certificate shown on the White House website has been heavily manipulated in ways that took someone a lot of time and effort, and that is VERY STRANGE.

Please forward this email to everyone you know.  This could be the most important message any of us have ever sent.

Pat Buchanan defends why he is skeptical of President Obama's past.

 The Wilkow Majority

Obama, lost in thought

The 'genius' of indecisiveness

When I covered George W. Bush's White House, my job was made easier by the simplicity of the subject. The president had a few defining mantras - Cut taxes! Rally the base! Terrorists hate freedom! With us or against us! - and most of his decisions could be understood, even predicted, by applying one of the overarching philosophies.

With President Obama, there is no such luxury. The political right is befuddled as it tries to explain him: First, Obama was a tyrant and a socialist; now he's a weakling who refuses to lead. The political left is almost as confused, demanding to know why Obama gave away so much on health care and in budget negotiations. Nearly everybody puzzles over Obama's ad hoc responses to Egypt, Libya and now Syria, grasping for a still-elusive Obama Doctrine.

Obama's changes, expected to be announced at the White House on Thursday, also will include a new ambassador and war commander in Afghanistan. However, they don't signal any major adjustment in the president's Afghan strategy or the fight against violent extremism.

After recently undertaking a journey to walk -- not fly -- across the United States in the "Grounded" storyline and reconnect with the country and everyday Americans, Superman appears to be taking another step that could have major implications for his national identity: in Action Comics #900

...Superman announces that he is going to give up his U.S. citizenship. Despite very literally being an alien immigrant, Superman has long been seen as a patriotic symbol of "truth, justice, and the American way," from his embrace of traditional American ideals to the iconic red and blue of his costume. What it means to stand for the "American way" is an increasingly complicated thing, however, both in the real world and in superhero comics, whose storylines have increasingly seemed to mirror current events and deal with moral and political complexities rather than simple black and white morality.

Morning Bell: Pictures of a Budgetary Disaster

By Mike Brownfield

Another budget battle looms on the horizon as Congress returns from recess next week to continue work on the nation's finances and debates whether to raise the debt limit, now at $14.3 trillion. In the last year, no single issue has captured the attention of Americans more. And for good reason. Spending and debt are skyrocketing, causing many to question what kind of course we are on. Hyper-drive spending is what last year's elections were really all about.

To understand what that all really means - and why deep spending cuts and fiscal reforms are paramount - Americans must understand how bad the nation's fiscal situation has gotten. Just in time for the debt limit debate, The Heritage Foundation has launched a special preview edition of its 2011 Budget Chart Book which paints a clear picture of how much the federal government is spending, how deep it's in debt, how massive entitlement programs are, and what we pay in taxes.

To: Friends & Supporters

From: Gary L. Bauer

Evangelicals & Israel

This afternoon I will be participating in a discussion with Rabbi Julie Schonfeld, Executive Vice President of the Rabbinical Assembly, before an audience of 1,000 people. Our topic will be Evangelical support for Israel. The event is being hosted by the American Jewish Committee's Global Forum, and is part of our continuing work with Christians United for Israel.

This audience will include many people who are skeptical of Evangelicals' support for Israel. The American Jewish Committee is among the more liberal Jewish groups, and its members generally don't agree with us on other values issues.

As Israel faces growing uncertainty in an ever-chaotic Middle East, I hope to break through the skepticism that divides Evangelicals and Jews so that we can work together to combat the Islamofascists who want us all dead, regardless of our faith or politics. I would appreciate your prayers as I take part in this conversation.

Patriot Publishing Operations: Down But Not Out

For the first time in 15 years, I have not made my publishing deadline. Please forgive me.

We have endured natural disasters and personal tragedies over the years, but still managed to pull the team together, craft the excellent analysis you expect from us, and get The Patriot Post to your inbox on schedule.

However, Wednesday our region was hit with weather more severe than the seasonal storms and, consequently, I made the decision to suspend our publishing deadlines. I am thankful to report that your Patriot team and our families are fine. We are without power and will be for some time, but we have roofs over our heads. Many others in our area did not fare so well, and more than 200 lost their lives.

Yesterday, and starting again early this morning, we set out with chainsaws, tarps, winches and whatever resources and personnel we could muster, to provide as much relief as possible. As I pause to write this, my sons, who rallied up some other neighborhood muscle, have driven to one of the hardest hit areas to volunteer their time.

God willing, I will be back with an essay, A New Dawn for Liberty, next week.

In the mean time, our editorial and technical staff will do their best to get tomorrow's Digest out on time, though please note the PDF edition format will not be available again until next week, and our Founder's Quote Daily will also be back on schedule next week. Other website features, Patriot News Review, The Right Opinion, Grassroots Commentary, etc., are all being maintained and up to date.

Please pray for those in our areas who have lost family members, homes and livelihoods.

Semper Vigilo, Fortis, Paratus et Fidelis!

McConnell Should Appoint DeMint to Finance Committee

Photo of Senator Jim DeMint

Senator DeMint has been implored to run for all sorts of leadership roles, ranging from President to Senate Leader, but has firmly declined. Fortunately, this is a position that he is openly embracing. [Red State, April 28]

Both Mr. Pawlenty and Mr. Paul will appear at the South Carolina Greenville Tea Party's "Presidential Debate Freedom Rally" on May 5. The rally will take place before the first Republican debate since various potential candidates, including Mr. Pawlenty and Mr. Paul, announce the formation of presidential exploratory committees.
The Tea Party rally is the latest attempt by both candidates to reach out to the increasingly influential political group. Both Mr. Pawlenty and Mr. Paul have attended Tea Party speaking engagements in the past.
South Carolina governor Nikki Haley is expected to headline the rally.
Fox News will moderate the debate, which is expected to take place the same day. Joining Mr. Paul and Mr. Pawlenty will be other GOP hopefuls, including former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Sen. Rick Santorum. [The State Column, April 28]

In the second edition of The Daily Caller/ConservativeHome GOP 2012 Presidential tracking poll, Tim Pawlenty and Donald Trump are on the rise, while Newt Gingrich appears to be slipping.
This time, respondents were asked a new question: who are you most likely to vote for? Chris Christie and Mitt Romney come out ahead on this with 14 and 13 percent of the vote, respectively. Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich form the second tier, taking 11 percent of the vote each. Tim Pawlenty starts off rather well in this category, taking 7 percent of the vote, as does Donald Trump.
Both Trump and Pawlenty saw serious gains since the last poll. [Daily Caller, April 28]

Projecting Trump's business decisions into the political realm misses the point

Apr 28, 2011 06:13 am | Coach Collins

 By Ron Reale, staff writer

Having anyone look search a professional entrepreneur's background for political stability is farcical at best.

Of course Donald Trump has said and done contradictory things, especially when it comes to political donations!

His business persona and fiduciary responsibility made him go with whatever he needed at the time to get the job done, or exhibit the image he needed, when necessary.

He has been attacked for using "Eminent Domain" laws to his advantage. He is a businessman, and has every right to use available tools like the Kelo decision given to him by the Supreme Court.  Argue with those who forced "Kelo" on us not those who use their decision legally.

Trump has done quite well for himself within the Capitalist system. According to Forbes, Trump's wealth was valued at $2.7 Billion in March 2011. He has created many jobs, and his enterprises have generated untold millions in tax revenues.

Can Trump ... Continue Reading:Projecting Trump's business decisions into the political realm misses the point

Obama hits NYC while ignoring Texas' plea for help

Fires are still ripping across Texas and it's so bad that Governor Perry has deemed that effective response is beyond the capabilities of the state. So he wrote a strongly worded letter to President Obama back on April 16th asking for help -- but so far the plea has been ignored. But that hasn't deterred Obama from jetting off to lavish fundraisers, like he did last night in NYC. Why is Obama ignoring Texas? Glenn answers on radio today.

PLUS don't miss Pat's story of getting stuck in the utter mess Obama caused on the streets in NYC...get that story HERE.

Glenn interviews 'next President of the United States'

Glenn has been raving about Congressman Allen West. Given the interactions, clips, and interviews of West that have made the rounds on the internet, it's easy to understand why. But as we've seen all too many times with candidates, it's easy to get excited only to find out the candidate is not all they are cracked up to be. Glenn decided it was time to find out if Congressman West is as awesome as he appears to be -- or not. Congressman West joined Glenn on radio today. How did West hold up to the relentless questioning of Glenn Beck? WATCH.

Soros: America has gone in the wrong direction

George Soros took to the public airwaves to talk about what's wrong with America, saying that America is heading in the 'wrong' direction. America may very well be heading in the wrong direction, but the new route Soros has in mind isn't exactly what the Founders had in mind. The interviewer asks Soros what he feels is his most important priority to spend his time and treasure fighting for - get the answer and Glenn's reaction HERE.

2003 Miss USA champ Susie Castillo is alleging that a TSA security guard went too far with the pat down and 'molested' her. Non-shocking report: Economy still struggling

The Associated Press is reporting that applications for unemployment benefits rose to 429,000 - the highest total since late January. This shouldn't come as a surprise considering the administration hasn't stopped printing and spending money despite the fact that none of the printing or spending has solved anything.
