Taliban Spy Network
Apr 16, 2011 06:13 am | Coach Collins
By Jim Emerson, staff writer
"Hence it is only the enlightened ruler and the wise general who will use the highest intelligence of the army for purposes of spying and thereby they achieve great results" - Sun Tzu
Like espionage networks from the Vietnam War, in Afghanistan, anyone local could be a spy, making it difficult to identify the "friendlies" from the bad guys. Taliban leaders use this historical model to gather intelligence to plan for suicide attacks and decide where to place IED to hamper supply routes. While we can't be sure, it would be safe to assume that this operation is being guided by advisors from the Iranian or Pakistani Intelligence organizations.
The Taliban developed a robust intelligence gathering network in Afghanistan as a necessity. With its infrastructure destroyed and unable to defeat allied forces on the battlefield they now resort to espionage to keep track of and attack friendly forces.
The Taliban have managed to infiltrate Afghan security forces and ... Continue Reading:Taliban Spy Network

Militant "Muslims" create evil deity in their own image to justify their murderous death cult by Bill Levinson
And certainly Allah is all knowing and wise because Allah is an evil son of a bitch.
-Ann Barnhardt online burning of bacon-bookmarked Koran
We will say up front that this article is NOT directed at Muslims who worship the Judeo-Christian God under the name of Allah. More to the point is a scene in C.S. Lewis' The Last Battle in which a virtuous Calormene (Turkish) soldier who has spent his life worshiping the demon Tash finds himself face to face with Aslan (Jesus) instead. The soldier thinks, "Now I'm in real trouble" but Aslan tells him that, as he had conducted his life in accordance with Aslan's principles, he had been Aslan's servant even though he knew Aslan by the name of Tash. On the other hand, those who did evil served Tash even when they claimed to act in the name of Aslan. This article is directed...

Apparently Brack Obama was not born in Hawaii or Kenya but was discovered by his alleged mother, floating in a basket on a river, the name of which, which cannot be disclosed. This according to David Solway who reported on this startling fact in his article in Pajamas Media on the question of the birth controversy. Before he makes this startling revelation be describes the quandry.
For some time now, even before his assumption of the presidency, the subject of Barack Obama's origins has been a vexed and tenacious issue, with no sign as yet of diminishing. Is he a "natural born citizen," as per Article 2, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution, the criterion of eligibility for the office of president? Was he born in Hawaii or Kenya or possibly in both places at the same time? Or is there, as potential 2012 presidential candidate Donald Trump speculates [1], "something on Obama's birth certificate he doesn't like"? Is there no dispositive evidence anywhere...

U.S. MILITARY SHOULD TARGET IRAN
By: Joseph Puder
Islamism is a growing force in the Middle East and beyond because of the continued gains made by the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Iranian revolution of 1979 ignited an ideology which has largely replaced Arab-nationalism with pan-Islamism, the ultimate goal of which is to gain global supremacy for Islam, in the same way Communism sought global supremacy. Iran embodies this aggressive ideology in its most potent and dangerous form. The turmoil in the region and the concomitant vacuum it has created poses a serious threat to the West that cannot be ignored. If the U.S. wants to regain its position in the region, it must stem Iran 's power play for regional (and beyond) hegemony and employ the military option.
The Islamist Sunni-Muslim Brotherhood, with branches throughout the Arab Middle East were suppressed by seemingly secular dictatorships in Egypt , Syria , and Jordan . Al-Qaeda, a Sunni-Muslim Salafist terrorist group led by Bin Laden, who initially targeted Arab "secular" regimes, switched gears and went after the infidels - hence the attack on America on September 11, 2001. The U.S. response in Afghanistan stunted Al-Qaeda's operations (no match for Iran in terms of capabilities and resources), allowing Iran 's Islamists to gain supremacy in the Islamic world.
The edge that the Shiite-Iranian regime has had over the Arab Islamists is in successfully targeting U.S. interests in the Middle East , and getting away with it. The Sunni-Arab (Muslim Brotherhood) Islamists are yet to prove their capabilities against America and the West.
Successive U.S. administrations withstood Communist aggression in Korea and Vietnam , Taiwan as well as in Berlin . The U.S. sent a clear message to Moscow and Beijing that it was willing to take military action and confront them in order to protect its allies, and interests. In recent years, however, American administrations have lacked the resolve to combat the real spearhead of Islamism - Iran - in the same way it confronted the Red Menace.
The Islamic Republic of Iran clearly sanctioned the invasion of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran on November 4, 1979 and the taking of 66 American diplomats as hostages - 52 of whom were held for 444 days. President Carter was impotent. Rather than retaliate against these obvious acts of war, Carter abandoned the Shah of Iran - a steadfast U.S. ally (just as Obama abandoned Mubarak of Egypt) and supported the Iranian revolution in the name of human rights. In the ensuing years the Iranian Revolutionary Guards - those most responsible for this militancy against U.S. citizens and property, were never held accountable. President Ronald Reagan was so happy that Ayatollah Khomeini released the U.S. hostages upon his assumption of the presidency that he was willing to sell the Iranians weapons, in what came to be known as the Iran-Contra affair, another political misjudgment that empowered the Iranian theocratic regime and weakened U.S. deterrence.
During the Iran-Iraq War (1980-1987) the Shiite Hezbollah, an Iranian sponsored and controlled terrorist group based in Lebanon , carried out unprovoked attacks on American assets. Hezbollah engineered the bombing of the U.S. Embassy in Beirut on April 18, 1983, which killed 60, as well as the bombing of the U.S. Marine compound in Beirut on October 23, 1983, resulting in the loss of 241 Marines. President Reagan subsequently ordered U.S. Marine peacekeepers out of Lebanon on February 26, 1984. The two acts of murder were ordered by the Iranian mullahs and carried out by Hezbollah. Not only did the U.S. leave the region, the acts of murder went unaddressed. The message was clear - Muslims could now kill Americans with impunity. Thus, Hezbollah's credit rose in Lebanon and Iran 's stature increased significantly throughout the Muslim world. Iran succeeded in expelling the Americans from Lebanon and fulfilling its strategy of removing the U.S. from the region. Iran now occupied the vacuum it created, and gained hegemony in the region.
On June 26, 1996, the Iranians struck once again - this time it was U.S. personnel stationed in Saudi Arabia 's Khobar Towers. 19 U.S. servicemen were killed and 372 were wounded. An FBI investigation concluded in 1999 that Iran had perpetrated the attack. President Bill Clinton send messages indicating he wanted a dialogue with then Iranian president, Muhammad Khatami, whom the U.S. mainstream media had labeled as "moderate!" So, once more, no conclusive measures taken by the U.S. and, Iran got away with murder.
President Bush Sr. and Jr. also sought dialogue and resumption of diplomatic relations with Tehran . Bush Sr. hoped that the death of Ayatollah Khomeini in June 1989 would create a new opportunity for the U.S. The Iranians, however, made many numerous demands including reparations, acceptance by the U.S. of the legitimacy of the 1979 revolution, U.S. agreement not to interfere in Iran 's internal affairs, the lifting of economic sanctions, demonstrable "respect" for the Iranian regime, and the release of frozen Iranian assets in the U.S. Most revealing were the following demands: that the U.S. end its military and naval presence in the Gulf states , Iraq and Afghanistan , end its alleged "one-sided" support for Israel , and apologize for past interventions in Iran .
Following the 2001 decision made by the George W. Bush administration to crush the Taliban in Afghanistan , and remove Saddam Hussein - Iraq 's bloody dictator, in 2003, the Iranian Ayatollahs feared U.S. action would be taken against them, as Iran was squeezed between U.S. forces in Afghanistan and Iraq . The Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi-Rafsanjani, the former president and chairman of the Expediency Council chairman, was one of the proponents of a formidable U.S. presence in the region, asserting that it would be in Iran 's national interests to engage with the U.S. The Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and his radical faction opposed it.
During President George W. Bush second-term in office, Iranian Revolutionary Guards were actively engaged in killing American soldiers in Iraq , yet the Iraq Study Group, led by James Baker and Lee Hamilton, recommended in their December 2006 report dialogue with Iran and Syria .
Iran, in the meantime, with no fear of U.S. military action and growing disdain for the Europeans, has advanced its nuclear program, increased its funding of terrorism against Israel, pro-Western Arab states, as well as American interests throughout the Middle East.
While the Iranian regime feared G.W. Bush it has nothing but contempt for President Barack Obama, despite his appeasement of Iran . In his June 4, 2009, Cairo speech, Obama declared, "Rather than remain trapped in the past, I have made it clear to Iran's leaders and people that my country is prepared to move forward. The question, now, is not what Iran is against, but rather what future it wants to build. It will be hard to overcome decades of mistrust, but we will proceed with courage, rectitude and resolve. There will be many issues to discuss between our two countries, and we are willing to move forward without preconditions on the basis of mutual respect."
Obama has lost the respect of the pro-western Sunni-Arabs with his naïve brand of appeasement and is perceived throughout the region as a "weak horse." The Saudis took note as Obama threw Mubarak "under the bus" and at his failure to respond to the Iranian aggression in the Gulf and in Lebanon . Last month, Saudi and Gulf Cooperation Council forces moved into Bahrain to put down an Iranian instigated uprising - completely disregarding the Obama administration. It is in Lebanon however that Obama most clearly demonstrated his impotence by allowing Hezbollah/Syria/Iran to bring down a democratically elected government and impose its will on the country. Furthermore, Obama's declaration that he would pull out U.S. troops from Iraq by 2012 is an open invitation for Iran to wait it out and then fill the vacuum.
There are no other options for dealing with Iran other than the military option. If the U.S. is to regain its credibility and its hope to bring peace to the region and end the Islamist's onslaught, it must take Iran on and demonstrate that there is a price that must be paid for all for their attacks on America . American military operations elsewhere in the Middle East (Libya, for example) are for naught; only a regime change in Iran initiated by a military operation will bring America and the free world the desired results.

Libya's civil war shrinks Christian communities

With most of his flock having fled Libya's violence, Tripoli's Roman Catholic bishop now focuses on keeping the power struggle between Moammar Gadhafi and anti-government rebels out of his church.

TRIPOLI, Libya - With most of his flock having fled Libya's violence, Tripoli's Roman Catholic bishop now focuses on keeping the power struggle between Moammar Gadhafi and anti-government rebels out of his church.
But it's getting harder.
After a recent Mass, several Muslim women, all Gadhafi supporters, followed Bishop Giovanni Martinelli into the vestry, tearfully demanding that he call the Vatican to get the pope to halt NATOairstrikes.
Some of his parishioners, especially African migrant workers, have been using his St. Francis Church as a sanctuary, saying they dread going into the streets because they are frequently stopped and harassed by Gadhafi's security forces.
The war has hit hard Christian communities in Tripoli, which include African migrant laborers, Filipino health care workers and European expatriates, among them foreign women married to Libyan men. Libya is an overwhelmingly Muslim country, and missionary activity is not allowed, though clergy say the regime has respected Christians' freedom of worship.
Martinelli and the head of the five other churches in Tripoli - all led by foreign clergy with congregations made up almost entirely of foreigners - have staked out a cautious middle ground in the conflict that has split Libya into a Gadhafi-controlled west and a rebel-run east.
In a statement issued just before the start of HolyWeek, which began with Palm Sunday, the Tripoli churches called for an immediate cease-fire and said dialogue is the only way to end the two-month-old crisis.
Attempts to dislodge Gadhafi by force will only make him more determined to hang on, said Martinelli, an Italian who came to Libya just a year after Gadhafi seized power in 1969.
"He is a Bedouin, he is very strong," the bishop said, tapping his forehead to illustrate hard-headedness.
Martinelli said his flock of 100,000 in the greater Tripoli area has dwindled to about 5,000. The Greek Orthodox community has shrunk from around 1,000 to fewer than a dozen. The Union Church is down from 1,200 to 250 parishioners.
Some of those who stayed, especially Africans who lack proper papers, said they rarely leave their homes these days because Tripoli is full of checkpoints, part of the clampdown by Gadhafi's forces to prevent anti-government protests.
Lucky John, 30, a Nigerian parishioner at St. Francis, said the forces often stop migrants and check their passports and the sim cards on their mobile phones.
John, who worked as a driver for a Turkish constructioncompanyuntil the uprising began on Feb. 15, said many of his friends have left Libya. "I stay by the faith of the almighty God," he said, speaking after Mass Friday. "Maybe this will be solved."
Treading carefully, Martinelli did not mention Libya's conflict in his sermon, but asked the congregation to pray for those in Benghazi, Misrata and Nalut, three rebel cities.
After the service, Martinelli received unusual visitors - two delegations of Muslim women, recognizable as Gadhafi supporters by their green scarves and lapel pins.
In their tearful pleas for help from the church, the women reiterated standard government claims aimed at discrediting opponents - that NATO airstrikes have caused widespread suffering among civilians and that rebels in the besieged city of Misrata are dominated by al-Qaida.
"They all have beards," one woman said of the fighters, to back up her claim. The woman said she is from Misrata.
He listened patiently to the women and told them he'd make some calls to Europe, but remained largely noncommittal.
"Many times I try to tell our people that the Pope cannot solve this," he said after the women had left.
Martinelli said it was the first time he's had such a visit by Muslim women, whose appearance coincided with an Associated Press trip to the church, in the company of government minders who waited in the parking lot outside. The Libyan regime has gone to great lengths to stage shows of support for Gadhafi for the benefit of foreign reporters who are being closely watched by the minders.
The official escorts did not permit an AP photographer to take his camera along to the church.
Rev. Edward Blasu, of the Union Church, another denomination, said he has canceled all evening activities in an attempt to keep his congregants - mostly African workers - safe.
In Tripoli's Greek Orthodox Church, all but a dozen parishioners have left. The main weekly service used to draw as many as 1,000 worshippers, mainly Greeks, Russians and Ukrainians.
The head of the congregation, Metropolitan Theofylaktos, will stay in Tripoli out of a sense of obligation, said Sophia Sofopoulou, a leading member of Tripoli's 300-strong Greek community.
Martinelli said he doesn't think or worry too much about whether the church will survive the crisis in Libya.
"The church is not my institution," he said. "It is from God. I am just here in the name of God."

France blocks train from Italy with migrants
By FRANCES D'EMILIO
The Associated Press
updated 2 hours 52 minutes ago 2011-04-17T21:40:13
ROME - A train carrying Tunisian immigrants from Italy was halted at the French border Sunday in an escalation of an international dispute over the fate of North African migrants fleeing political unrest for refuge in Europe.
But France blamed what it said were hundreds of activists on the train planning a demonstration in France, and posing a problem to public order. Traffic was re-established by evening - but not before Italy lodged a formal protest.
"At no time was there a ... closing of the border between France and Italy," French Interior Ministry spokesman Pierre-Henri Brandet said. It was an "isolated problem," he said by telephone, "an undeclared demonstration."
He estimated that up to 10 trains may have been affected, five on each side.
Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini, who earlier in the day told his ambassador in Paris to lodge a strong protest over the blocking of the trains, said that Italy understands that the activists could be a cause of "concern" for France.
But Frattini insisted in a telephone interview with an Italian TV channel Sunday evening that the Tunisians had the proper paperwork to enter France.
Italy has been giving temporary residence permits to many of the roughly 26,000 Tunisians who have gone to Italy to escape unrest in northern Africa in recent weeks. Many of the Tunisians have family ties or friends in France, the country's former colonial ruler, and the Italian government says the permits should allow the Tunisians to go there under accords allowing visa-free travel among many European countries.
France says it will honor the permits only if the migrants prove they can financially support themselves and it has instituted patrols on the Italian border - unprecedented since the introduction of the Schengen travel-free zone - bringing in about 80 riot police last week. Germany has said it would do the same.
A spokesman for the Italian rail company, Maurizio Furia, told The Associated Press in Rome that the train carrying migrants and political activists who support them wasn't allowed to pass into Menton, France, from the border station of Ventimiglia on Sunday.
Italy lodged a protest with the French government, calling the move "illegitimate and in clear violation of general European principles" the Italian Foreign Ministry said. Frattini ordered his envoy in Paris "to express the strong protest of the Italian government."
The French Foreign Ministry had no immediate comment.
However, France's Interior Ministry insisted on the isolated nature of the problem and said that once the train was blocked, activists demonstrated on the train tracks in Vintimiglia, forcing the prefect there to take action because they were blocking traffic.
The ministry spokesman said the French rail authority and the prefect of France's Alpes-Maritimes region, which governs the French border town of Menton, ordered the train blocked because activists planned an unauthorized demonstration once in France.
"France did not demand the closing of rail traffic between France and Italy. It was a consequence" of the activists plans which threatened public order, Brandet said.
The distinction is critical as tensions rise between Paris and Rome over the migrants.
European nations have been increasingly and bitterly sparring over the issue.
"We have given the migrants travel documents, and we gave everything (else) that is needed, and the EuropeanCommissionrecognized that, it has said that Italy is following the Schengen rules," Italian Interior Minister Roberto Maroni said in an interview on Italy's Sky TG24 TV.
Visa-"free travel is legitimate for all those with the papers and who want to go to France," said Maroni, a top officials of the anti-immigrant Northern League party, a main coalition partner of PremierSilvioBerlusconi.
While he has robustly backed pro-democracy movements in the Arab world, triggered by the Tunisian uprising, conservative President NicolasSarkozyis also trying to cut back on the number of migrants arriving in France, whose former colonies in North Africa already provide the majority of immigrants.
France and Italy agreed to joint sea-and-air patrols more than a week ago to block any new North African migrants from sailing to destinations including Italy's southernmost point, the tiny Mediterranean island of Lampedusa. It is not clear when joint patrols would begin.

"All this talk of people who burn the Koran and nothing about the people who reacted in such a stupid way. We are always blaming the victim and not holding them -- not most Muslims, but at least a large part of Muslim culture that doesn't condemn their people," Bill Maher said on his show "Real Time" Friday night.
"There is one religion in the world that kills you when you disagree with them and they say 'look, we are a religion of peace and if you disagree we'll fucking cut your head off,'" Maher said. "And nobody calls them on it -- there are very few people that will call them on it."
"It's like if Dad is a violent drunk and beats his kids, you don't blame the kid because he set Dad off. You blame Dad because he's a violent drunk," Maher concluded.
Maher also give his reaction to Sen. Lindsey Graham saying "free speech is great, but we're at war." Maher said that comment made him "nervous."

RedState Morning Briefing
For April 18, 2011
1. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) Says Senate Republicans Will Support Tax Increases
A few weeks ago, I reported that the Senate Republicans' point man on dealing with the deficit, Saxby Chambliss (R-GA), said he'd support tax increases as a means to reduce the deficit. Chambliss promptly denied it.
Yesterday, in the New York Times, Chambliss admitted he and the Senate Republicans will support tax increases to pay off the deficit.
Mr. Chambliss has been increasingly outspoken in arguing that additional revenues must be part of a debt-reduction plan, given the scale of the problem.
"I'm taking arrows from some on the far right," he told the Rotary Club of Atlanta in an appearance with Mr. Warner on Monday. "Are some people going to pay more in taxes? You bet."
Mitch McConnell put Chambliss in charge of the issue for the Republicans. He is their point man.
2. Obama's czar end-run: 'Signing statements' he once opposed
While the debate rages among conservatives on the merits of the budget deal lawmakers struck with President Barack Obama, add an additional point of contention: Czars, of which the appropriations measure reached last week eliminated four. At least, that's what House GOP'ers thought.
The spending bill as written prohibited the White House from devoting funds to those czars directing the administration's policy agenda for health care, climate change, the auto industry and urban affairs.
But the president broke the terms of the eleventh-hour agreement, issuing a signing statement Friday indicating he would employ czars-of which he's tapped a record 39-as he sees appropriate.
3. Paul Krugman Calls for the Assassination of Paul Ryan
RedState co-founder Josh Trevino has noticed the following: back in January, Paul Krugman was one of many drooling idiot leftists devoid of any moral compass who tried to pin the shooting of Gabrielle Giffords on a lack of Republican civility. Even though, by the time Krugman's column ran, it was clear that Giffords' shooter was a mentally disturbed individual whose assassination plot was not motivated by coherent political theory of any stripe, Krugman was not about to let facts get in the way of a good partisan narrative.
Yes, Krugman claimed, without any appreciable sense of shame, that a man who was seriously mentally ill was merely a symptom of - no kidding - "toxic rhetoric." Well, three whole months have passed since Krugman peddled this tripe and apparently, Krugman's sense of shame hasn't become any more well-developed. Now he's got a piece out on Paul Ryan's deficit reduction plan. The title - the TITLE - of this piece? Let's Not be Civil.
According to Paul Krugman, Paul Krugman has just called for the assassination of Paul Ryan.
4. TX Senate Dem recruit once object of scorn for military interrogations
Did national Democrats' recruitment of former Iraq commander Ricardo Sanchez transform the Texas Senate race from a blow-out into a marquee 2012 contest? Not a chance, say Republicans eyeing the race.
For deep red Texas GOP'ers, the most significant task is clearing the primary field, which includes former solicitor general Ted Cruz, ex-railroad commish Michael Williams, former Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert and car dealer-turned-secretary of state Roger Williams. Sanchez, whose military career took an unceremonious dive after those below his command were charged with prisoner abuse at the Abu Ghraib detention center, registers a distant second for these Senate hopefuls.
5. Newspaper Publishers in the Black Community Think Barack Obama is Foreign Born
The National Newspaper Publishers Association is affiliated with the hundreds of newspapers across the country that cater to the black community or, in the words of the NNPA, "The Black Press of America". The Northeast Publishers Association is a smaller association that best characterized as the trade association for black newspapers in the Northeast.
The NPA has prepared the advertisement below to go in black newspapers across the country. Walter Smith, a director of the NNPA, blasted out the advertisement to many on their email list with a note saying, in part, "We can educate our readership by either running this ad or making a similar statement in our newspapers."
The advertisement embraces the idea that Barack Obama was not born in the United States - a position rejected by most Americans. It's bad for Barack Obama when even the black newspaper publishers of America think he is foreign born.
6. Ticking Time Bomb: Ongoing Labor Dispute Shows the Problem With Union Pensions
In Orange, CT, there have been two arrests over the last few weeks (the most recent on Saturday afternoon) in front of Dichello Distributors, where there is an ongoing labor battle between Teamsters, Local 443 and the company. The issue is over the company's desire to exit the Teamsters' grossly underfunded multi-employer pension plan, as well as asking union members to pay 10% of their medical premiums.
7. I Stand With Michele Bachmann
Just the other day I said the answer is "no" to the question "should the House GOP replace John Boehner." The more we've found out about that budget deal, the more I think I might be wrong. Maybe we need Speaker Bachmann instead.
On Friday, Robert Costa at National Review, got some insider dirt on the House GOP meeting that happened behind closed doors without staff. To put it mildly, the House GOP Leadership is unhappy with Michele Bachmann continuing to fight for repeal of Obamacare.

Ayn Rand's scary vision of government coming true
Apr 17, 2011 06:13 am | Coach Collins
By Suzanne Eovaldi, staff writer
While you were sleeping, your industrious federal government was busy establishing new guide lines for 2011 washing machines that, according to my source, cut down on efficiency, deceive the customer into thinking hot is hot, cold is cold, and make her lights flicker.
Doing things on the sneak is a characteristic of the Obama administration that I find especially odious, and this "Energy Efficient Washing Machine" two step is cloying to say the least. My source, who is most reliable, reports she bought a new basic model, and was shocked to discover after doing her first load of laundry, "when set on HOT, the sensor automatically adds COLD along with the hot." The warm is a mix of both and the COLD SETTING ADDS HOT AS WELL."
She thought the dealer had installed the machine incorrectly, but upon referring to the manual, learned that "the manual states some cold is added to the hot to conserve ... Continue Reading:Ayn Rand's scary vision of government coming true

Dr. Charles Krauthammer Brief summary
TAKE A MINUTE TO READ THIS; VERY INTERESTING! |
Fast Facts 1. Born: March 13, 1950 2. Birthplace: New York City, New York 3. Raised in Montreal, Canada 4. Attended McGill University and Harvard Medical School 5. 1972 diving accident left him a paraplegic 6. Directed psychiatric research for the Carter administration 7. Began writing career in 1981 with The New Republic 8. Helped develop the "Reagan Doctrine" in the 80s 9. Appointed to Presidential Council on Bioethics in 2002
Dr. Charles Krauthammer We see him on TV every weekday on the Fox news channel Dr. Krauthammer is on Fox News . He is an M.D. And a lawyer and is paralyzed from the neck down. A friend went to hear Charles Krauthammer. He listened with 25 others in a closed room. What he says here, is NOT 2nd-hand but 1st. The ramifications are staggering for us, our children and their children.
Last Monday was a profound evening, Dr. Charles Krauthammer spoke to the Center for the American Experiment.. He is a brilliant intellectual, seasoned & articulate. He is forthright and careful in his analysis, and never resorts to emotions or personal insults. He is NOT a fear monger nor an extremist in his comments and views . He is a fiscal conservative, and has received a Pulitzer Prizefor writing. He is a frequent contributor to Fox News and writes weekly for the Washington Post. The entire room was held spellbound during his talk. I have summarized his comments, as we are living in uncharted waters economically and internationally. Even 2 Dems at my table agreed with everything he said!
Summary of his comments:
1. Obama is an intellectual, charming individual. He is not to be underestimated. He is a cool customer who doesn't show his emotions. It's very hard to know what's behind the mask. The taking down of the Clinton dynasty was an amazing accomplishment. The Clintons still do not understand what hit them. Obama was in the perfect place at the perfect time.
2. Obama has political skills comparable to Reagan and Clinton . He has a way of making you think he's on your side, agreeing with your position, while doing the opposite. Pay no attention to what he SAYS; rather, watch what he DOES!
3. Obama has a ruthless quest for power. He did not come to Washington to make something out of himself, but rather to change everything, including dismantling capitalism. He can't be straightforward on his ambitions, as the public would not go along. He has a heavy hand, and wants to level the playing field with income redistribution and punishment to the achievers of society. He would like to model the USA to Great Britain or Canada .
4. His three main goals are to control ENERGY, PUBLIC EDUCATION, and NATIONAL HEALTHCARE by the Federal government. He doesn't care about the auto or financial services industries, but got them as an early bonus. The cap and trade will add costs to everything and stifle growth. Paying for FREE college education is his goal. Most scary is his healthcare program, because if you make it FREE and add 46,000,000 people to a Medicare-type single-payer system, the costs will go through the roof. The only way to control costs is with massive RATIONING of services, like in Canada .
5. He has surrounded himself with mostly far-left academic types. No one around him has ever even run a candy store. But they are going to try and run the auto, financial, banking and other industries. This obviously can't work in the long run. Obama is not a socialist; rather he's a far-left secular progressive bent on nothing short of revolution. He ran as a moderate, but will govern from the hard left. Again, watch what he does, not what he says.
6. Obama doesn't really see himself as President of the United States , but more as a ruler over the world.. He sees himself above it all, trying to orchestrate & coordinate various countries and their agendas. He sees moral equivalency in all cultures. His apology tour in Germany and England was a prime example of how he sees America, as an imperialist nation that has been arrogant, rather than a great noble nation that has at times made errors. This is the first President ever who has chastised our allies and appeased our enemies!
7. He is now handing out goodies. He hopes that the bill (and pain) will not come due until after he is reelected in 2012. He would like to blame all problems on Bush from the past, and hopefully his successor in the future. He has a huge ego, and Dr. Krauthammer believes he is a narcissist.
8.. Republicans are in the wilderness for a while, but will emerge strong. Republicans are pining for another Reagan, but there will never be another like him. Krauthammer believes Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty & Bobby Jindahl (except for his terrible speech in February) are the future of the party. Newt Gingrich is brilliant, but has baggage. Sarah Palin is sincere and intelligent, but needs to really be seriously boning up on facts and info if she is to be a serious candidate in the future... We need to return to the party of lower taxes, smaller government, personal responsibility, strong national defense, and state's rights.
9. The current level of spending is irresponsible and outrageous. We are spending trillions that we don't have.. This could lead to hyperinflation, depression or worse.Nocountry has ever spent themselves into prosperity. The media is giving Obama, Reid and Pelosi a pass because they love their agenda. But eventually the bill will come due and people will realize the huge bailouts didn't work, nor will the stimulus packages. These were trillion-dollar payoffs to Obama's allies, unions and the Congress to placate the left, so he can get support for #4 above.
10. The election was over in mid-September when Lehman brothers failed, fear and panic swept in,we had an unpopular President, and the war was grinding on indefinitely without a clear outcome. The people are in pain, and the mantra of change caused people to act emotionally.Any Dem. would have won this election; it was surprising it was as close as it was.
11. In 2012, if the unemployment rate is over 10%, Republicans will be swept back into power. If it's under 8%, the Dems continue to roll. If it's between 8-10%, it will be a dogfight. It will all be about the economy. I hope this gets you really thinking about what's happening in Washington and Congress. There is a left-wing revolution going on, according to Krauthammer, and he encourages us to keep the faith and join the loyal resistance. The work will be hard, but we're right on most issues and can reclaim our country, before it's far too late. Do yourself a long term favor, send this to all who will listen to an intelligent assessment of the big picture. All our futures and children's futures depend on our understanding of what is really going on in D.C., and our action pursuant to that understanding!! It really IS up to each of us to take individual action!! Start with enlightening your friends and neighbors!!!

Today It's The Rich; Tomorrow It's the Rest Of Us
Barack Obama made it clear in his speech Wednesday that he wants to raise taxes on the "rich." I noted that there are simply not enough "rich" people in America to pay for all his spending. The Wall Street Journal wrote yesterday: "According to Internal Revenue Service data, the entire taxable income of everyone earning over $100,000 in 2008 was about $1.582 trillion. Even if all these Americans -- most of whom are far from wealthy -- were taxed at 100%, it wouldn't cover Mr. Obama's deficit for this year."
The point is that America does not have a revenue problem; we have a spending problem. This is a fundamental difference between the two parties. That's why the Ryan plan focuses on spending, not higher taxes. The problem with giving Washington more money is that it fuels big government's insatiable appetite. Several studies over the years have found that whenever Washington gets more tax revenue it spends it all, and then some. It's time to put Uncle Sam on a diet!
Remember how Bill Clinton promised to make the rich "pay their fair share"? Once he got elected, a lot of middle class Americans suddenly found out they were "rich" too. And guess what? The leading mouthpieces of the liberal establishment are already laying the foundation for higher taxes on EVERYONE. They know the truth -- that Obama's budget math doesn't add up because there are not enough "rich" people to raise the kind of revenue he needs to finance his big government spending. Don't believe me? Consider these editorial critiques of President Obama's leadership on deficit reduction:
From yesterday's Washington Post:
"President Obama made an important and welcome contribution to the debate over deficit reduction Wednesday. We would have preferred the president to have weighed in earlier; we could lament the absence of truly courageous moves... Nonetheless, sorely needed presidential engagement on the nation's fiscal crisis has arrived at last. ...while Mr. Obama is correct to call for new taxes, he is wrong to hew to his position that all the necessary revenue can be raised by increasing taxes on the small sliver of households earning more than $250,000 a year."
From Tuesday's New York Times:
"[President Obama] hasn't made a serious effort to explain the need for substantially more revenue. The bigger test will come on Wednesday, when Mr. Obama presents a long-term deficit reduction alternative to the Republican proposal. It must include significant sources of revenue...
"...raising income taxes must start with requiring the richest Americans... But even that won't dig the country out of its hole. The middle class is also going to have to pay higher taxes. ... That means higher income taxes further down the income scale than Mr. Obama has previously called for, and new sources of tax revenue, like energy taxes or a financial-transactions tax or a value-added tax."
Barack Obama desperately wants to get reelected, so don't expect him to be dumb enough to say he will raise your taxes as Walter Mondale did. But his allies in the liberal media are telling us now! Remember that as you are filling out your tax returns.
House Defunds Planned Parenthood & ObamaCare
Here's more proof of the differences between the two parties when it comes to spending your money. Yesterday, Congress passed the compromise budget deal announced last week which avoided a government shutdown for now. As part of the agreement, both houses of Congress held votes on defunding Planned Parenthood and ObamaCare.
Democrats denounced these votes as distractions -- social issues that had no place in the budget debate. But both issues speak volumes about the spending priorities of the two parties. Should we take on another massive entitlement that we can't afford and should we send our hard-earned tax dollars to the nation's largest abortion provider? Democrats said "yes" to both.
On ObamaCare, House Republicans voted unanimously to defund it. Only three House Democrats joined them. On Planned Parenthood, 96% of House Republicans voted to stop funding it, while 93% of House Democrats voted to keep sending your hard-earned tax dollars to Planned Parenthood.
Unfortunately, both bills were killed in the Democrat-controlled Senate when Democrats voted unanimously in support of funding ObamaCare and Planned Parenthood.
"You Can't Legislate Morality"
One of the favorite refrains of the left is "You can't legislate morality." But the left does it all the time. While conservatives are told to check their values at the schoolhouse door, the California State Senate yesterday approved a bill mandating the instruction of "gay history in social studies lessons." In a concession, senators left it up to local school districts to decide "what to include in the lessons and at what grade students would receive them." With all the problems facing the state of California, this is what the legislature is wasting its time on?
Years ago, I co-authored a book with my good friend Dr. James Dobson entitled "Children At Risk." Conservatives have warned for years that this is exactly what would happen if the militant homosexual movement gained acceptance. It would not be enough to merely "tolerate" their lifestyle. It would be promoted in the schools and forced onto our children. Here we are. Unless men and women of faith get involved in the public policy debates of our time and defend our cherished values, more states will follow California's example.
Questions About Trump
In the past few days, there have been a number of press reports that are causing many conservatives to have second thoughts about Donald Trump. For example, he told the Wall Street Journal that he might run as a third party candidate if he did not win the GOP nomination. This would be a disastrous scenario that would only guarantee Barack Obama's reelection.
It was also revealed that Trump donated $50,000 to Rahm Emanuel's mayoral campaign, and he donated to Harry Reid last year. And there are also past statements praising Barack Obama and labeling George W. Bush as "evil." More on his record will come out in the days ahead.
Whether he runs or not, I still believe that other Republican candidates can learn from his style. He has attracted support because people are looking for confident leadership. If nothing else, Trump understands the basics of politics: If you are not on offense, then you are playing defense.

On government spending, the battle lines are drawn. And, there's a big vote in 48 hours.
If President Obama wants us to believe he now wants to reduce deficits just 2 months after submitting a budget with red ink as far as the eye can see, then he should propose a new and complete formal budget.
Instead, Obama and the left have launched a full-throated attack on leaders like Congressman Paul Ryan who stand for real budget reform and genuine spending cuts.
We must stand up against these attacks and show Chairman Ryan and Congress that we support the proposed budget cuts. CLICK HERE to tell your member of Congress to vote to CUT SPENDING NOW.
Time is of the essence - the House Budget Committee led by Chairman Ryan is expected to put a budget bill on the floor of the House for a full vote - most likely tomorrow afternoon.
Both budgets put our nation on a path toward economic prosperity and genuinely smaller government. Both budgets cut trillions in government spending, significantly reduces the national debt, and defunds ObamaCare.
It is clear the policy debate in our country has dramatically changed. A majority of our fellow citizens now agree with you and me that government spending is too high and the massive budget deficits threaten our economic prosperity. And, do you think President Obama would even be talking about cutting the budget if it were not for us?!?
But frankly, it is much harder to pass good legislation than it is to oppose bad bills. That's why it is crucial for you to get involved now in this budget battle.
CLICK HEREto to take action now and tell your member of Congress to Cut Spending Now!
Sincerely,
Tim Phillips President Americans for Prosperity
PS: Let's keep doing our part to rein in America's out-of-control spending. Click here to tell your member of Congress to CUT SPENDING NOW! |

Prosser Wins by 7,316 Votes
The Associated Press reports that a canvassing of ballots from the recent Wisconsin elections is complete, and Justice David Prosser has emerged victorious, defeating union-backed challenger JoAnne Kloppenburg by 7,316 votes. Kloppenburg has until this Wednesday to call for a recount. State election officials will not formally declare the Prosser win until the deadline has passed. The final vote tally had the interesting effect of transforming Kloppenburg from an unstoppable avatar of public rage against the evil Governor Scott Walker into a helpless underdog who probably never had a chance, in the eyes of the media. Every media report now describes Kloppenburg as fighting an "uphill" battle, but a few weeks ago, they were all writing about how Walker had energized the Democrat base, unleashing a political tidal wave that would sweep Prosser away, before sending a bunch of recalled Republicans to join him.

Ryan Plan Stops Obama's Raid on Medicare
By: Betsy McCaughey April 15, 2011 After listening to President Obama's speech yesterday, I'd trust Bernie Madoff with my Medicare before I'd trust Obama.
The president portrayed himself as protecting seniors, and claimed Congressman Paul Ryan's plan would be cruel to seniors.
The data show the opposite. Seniors and baby boomers will be better off under the Ryan proposal than under the Obama health law.
The biggest winners are Americans under 55. They need to pay attention as Congress debates the budget. It is not about next year. It's about Medicare a decade from now, when they will need it.
The Obama health plan reduces future funding for Medicare by $575 billion over the next 10 years and spends it on other programs, including a vast expansion of Medicaid. It's robbing Grandma and Grandpa ala Bernie Madoff. The Ryan program stops the raid on Medicare.
In the year 2019, according to Medicare's own actuaries, Medicare will spend $14, 731 per senior, under the Obama health law, instead of $16,162 if the Obama health law had not been enacted (Health Affairs, October, 2010).
Such cuts might be justifiable if the savings extended the financial life of Medicare. President Obama and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius frequently make that false claim. Even Medicare's mailings to seniors repeat the lie that the spending reductions will make Medicare more financially secure. The truth is, Medicare is being bled dry, not saved, and the president is cooking the books.
While Ryan's proposal also reduces future Medicare spending over the next decade, the differences are how the reductions are achieved and what is done with the "savings." Ryan's proposal stops the Medicare heist.
That's good news for Americans who will turn 65 in 2022 or later. The Ryan proposal guarantees them a annual payment made by the federal government to the health plan of their choice. The payment will be equivalent to what Medicare would otherwise directly spend on care. On average, the premium paid will be $15,000. The poor and chronically ill will get more help, to minimize out-of-pocket costs, while wealthiest seniors may get a smaller voucher if Congress decides to means test it.
Will $15,000 (adjusted upward for inflation) be enough? Ryan's critics protest that the amount is inadequate and seniors will suffer. But $15,000 is what Medicare is predicted to spend per senior under the Obama health law.
The difference is that Ryan offers seniors a guarantee. Clearly that's better than a mere government forecast. Ryan's "premium support" is modeled after how the Medicare Part D drug benefit currently works. Seniors have a choice, and the competition between drug plans has kept costs below what was predicted - nearly a first for a government program. The expectation is that the competition among private health plans will help do the same.
The shame is that Ryan's proposal for guaranteed premium support wouldn't start until 2022. The intent is to spare today's seniors and baby boomers entering Medicare from sudden change.
Even without premium support, seniors will fare better between now and in 2022 under the Ryan proposal . By repealing the Obama health law, Ryan's proposal eliminates the Independent Payment Advisory Board.
The Obama health law established IPAB to make further cuts beyond what are specified in the law. For the first time since Medicare was established in 1965, Congress ceded nearly all control of Medicare spending to this unelected board of cost-cutters. The rationale was to make Medicare budgeting immune from outraged seniors - destining seniors to get substantially less than the cuts already made.
Yesterday President Obama reiterated that that the knife wielding IPAB will be deciding what healthcare for seniors is "unnecessary" and what "services seniors need." The president said he won't cut favored programs such as Pell grants for college students and Head Start, but baby boomers and seniors beware.
The debate over Ryan's 2012 budget proposal is not about preserving Medicare as we've always known it. That is already gone, eviscerated by the Obama health law. The choice now is about stopping the raid on Medicare's finances and providing a believable guarantee to Americans under age 55 that they will have healthcare when they retire.

The Titanic Budget

The 2012 budget is looking a lot like this day in 1912
Since Democrats took over Congress in 2007, the annual federal budget deficit has quadrupled. Democrats continue to talk about fiscal austerity, but if left to them, these gargantuan deficits would continue for years to come. In February 2010, Barack Obama made a farce of creating a bipartisan debt commission and tasking it to make recommendations for reining in federal spending. The commission did so in December ... and he promptly ignored them, introducing a 2012 budget that included none of its recommendations and continues to drive spending through the roof.
Then came Wednesday's speech at George Washington University, a presidential do-over in response to his $3.73 trillion FY 2012 budget having been laughed out of town two months earlier. In the speech, Obama suddenly remembered his commission and promised budget cuts. In doing so, he read this laugh line from his teleprompter: "We have to live within our means." This from the guy who continues to propose that we borrow 40 cents for every dollar spent.
Right from the start, Obama sounded as if he were on the campaign trail rather than making a serious policy speech. He invited Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), chairman of the House Budget Committee, to take a front-row seat for the event, then promptly savaged Ryan's proposal to reduce the deficit by $4 trillion in 10 years. "Those are both worthy goals for us to achieve," Obama offered, "but the way this plan achieves those goals would lead to a fundamentally different America than the one we've known throughout most of our history." Actually, it would derail Obama's agenda to "fundamentally transform the United States of America" to match his socialist preferences.
Obama's speech then devolved into a class warfare screed. "Worst of all," he said, "this is a vision that says even though America can't afford to invest in education or clean energy; even though we can't afford to care for seniors and poor children, we can somehow afford more than $1 trillion in new tax breaks for the wealthy." He asked sarcastically, "That's who needs to pay less taxes?"
First of all, it's not Obama's money. Second, the "rich" already pay most of the taxes -- the top 1 percent pay 40 percent of income taxes, and the top 10 percent pay 70 percent. Third, these top-bracket taxpayers are also the nation's job-creating business owners, the ones who thereby fuel our investment in education, clean energy and the like.
In Obama's America, however, "we would not be a great country without" entitlements that redistribute wealth from one small subgroup to a much larger subgroup. Leftists have always found it easy to be compassionate with other people's money, pat themselves on the back for it, and then recoil in horror if anyone suggests it's not really compassion.
Just in time for Income Redistribution Day, Obama proposed raising taxes by $1 trillion on the top two brackets over the next 12 years -- and not just directly raising rates, but eliminating deductions, too. "I believe that most wealthy Americans would agree with me," he said. "They want to give back to the country that's done so much for them. Washington just hasn't asked them to." As far as we know, Uncle Sam is always willing to take an extra check if one's conscience is so burdened.
The bottom line is that Obama isn't serious about addressing the deficit -- unless "serious" is defined as seriously increasing it. As long as his plan for confronting our crushing fiscal issues is simply raising taxes to pay for more spending, the nation will continue sinking, just as the Titanic did 99 years ago.
Quote of the Week
"The immediate political goal was to inoculate the White House from criticism that it is not serious about the fiscal crisis, after ignoring its own deficit commission last year and tossing off a $3.73 trillion budget in February that increased spending amid a record deficit of $1.65 trillion. Mr. Obama was chased to George Washington University [Wednesday] because Mr. Ryan and the Republicans outflanked him on fiscal discipline and are now setting the national political agenda. Mr. Obama did not deign to propose an alternative to rival Mr. Ryan's plan, even as he categorically rejected all its reform ideas, repeatedly vilifying them as essentially un-American. 'Their vision is less about reducing the deficit than it is about changing the basic social compact in America,' he said, supposedly pitting 'children with autism or Down's syndrome' against 'every millionaire and billionaire in our society.' The President was not attempting to join the debate Mr. Ryan has started, but to close it off just as it begins and banish House GOP ideas to political Siberia. Mr. Obama then packaged his poison in the rhetoric of bipartisanship -- which 'starts,' he said, 'by being honest about what's causing our deficit.' The speech he chose to deliver was dishonest even by modern political standards." --The Wall Street Journal
This Week's 'Braying Jackass' Award
"Under [Republicans'] vision, we can't invest in roads and bridges and broadband and high-speed rail. I mean, we would be a nation of potholes, and our airports would be worse than places that we thought -- that we used to call the Third World." --Barack Obama in another budget speech Thursday

News From the Swamp: Spending Deal Details
Details of last Friday's midnight deal on the 2011 budget began trickling out this week, and we're shocked -- shocked -- to report that it wasn't exactly as advertised. The deal purported nearly $40 billion in cuts. Republicans had promised $100 billion during the 2010 campaign, and reduced that to $61 billion for negotiations. That number, too, shrank as accounting gimmicks kicked in. As the Associated Press reports, "The details of the agreement reached late Friday night just ahead of a deadline for a partial government shutdown reveal a lot of one-time savings and cuts that officially 'score' as cuts to pay for spending elsewhere, but often have little to no actual impact on the deficit."
First, the $40 billion deal included $12 billion in cuts from previous continuing resolutions, bringing the total to just $28 billion. Another $6.2 billion was merely unspent census money. Some $10 billion came from appropriations accounts used for earmarks that Republicans had already agreed to ban. More than 50 federal programs were cut, but the grand total for that was a pathetic $1 billion in savings. Four of Obama's "czars" were also cut, but the catch is that all four had already either resigned or moved to other job titles.
The cuts were thus minuscule to begin with; before long, they became virtually non-existent. The Congressional Budget Office released its analysis and it's not pretty -- the grand total in actual cuts is just $352 million. The government burns through that in about two hours. According to The Washington Post:
The Congressional Budget Office's analysis shows that the compromise does cut nearly $38 billion in what's called "budget authority." That means that, in all, government agencies would have that much less permission to spend federal money.
But that is not the same as stopping spending right now.
Instead, it appears much of that budget authority would not have been used until later years -- if ever. The CBO analysis looked only at spending that would take place in fiscal 2011.
The new analysis didn't stop the bill from passing. In fact, it probably ensured its passage. The House passed it 260-167 Thursday, though 59 Republicans voted against it, and it breezed through the Senate 81-19. "[W]e're cutting $38.5 billion of money that has already been authorized and appropriated," House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) said, "and anybody that doesn't believe this money wouldn't be spent if we don't act is kidding themselves." That's true, but going from $100 billion to $352 million leaves a rather bad taste in our mouths.

Hope 'n' Change: White House Visitor Logs Omit Many
From the most transparent administration in history comes this new revelation: The visitor logs at the White House "are missing the names of thousands of ... visitors to the White House, including lobbyists, government employees, campaign donors, policy experts and friends of the first family," Politico reports. "The White House website proudly boasts of making available 'over 1,000,000 records of everyone who's come through the doors of the White House' via a searchable database. Yet ... the logs routinely omit or cloud key details about the identity of visitors, whom they met with and the nature of their visits. The logs even include the names of people who never showed up."
Recently we noted that the administration accepted an award for transparency from advocates of open government ... in secret. Now we're wondering if those visitors are in the logs.
Around the Nation: Throwing Coldwater on the Tea Party
The Common Sense Patriots of Branch County, Michigan, are fighting a battle for free speech in Four Corners Park in the city of Coldwater. Normally a home to Memorial Day and Fourth of July celebrations, the park became off limits to any kind of public messaging after The Patriots notified the city that they wanted to put up a banner announcing a Tea Party gathering on July 31. City Manager Jeffrey Budd refused, and The Patriots claim in their lawsuit that it was because he wanted to avoid controversy.
The Patriots fought the rejection, and Budd changed his mind. Later, at his recommendation, the city council banned signs in the park. Budd cited the "administrative headaches" and the "natural beauty of the park" as justifiable reasons for the ban. The Patriots have taken the city to court before other things get banned in Four Corners Park, like maybe the American flag.

Kinetic Military Action Front With Jihadistan: Road Map to Nowhere
The "good news" is that Libya now has a road map for peace between its embattled leader, Moammar Gadhafi, and Libyan rebels who want to oust him. The bad news is that it's actually little more than a wish-list for Gadhafi, hastily crafted by shills from certain delegates of the African Union (AU) who are beholden to him. Among other peace-loving nations, they represent Congo, Mali, Mauritania and Uganda.
For those unfamiliar with the AU, it's a loosely knit confederation of 53 African nations that almost never speaks with one voice. Worse, in the words of Hot Air's Ed Morrissey, it "[has] yet to meet a murderous, psychopathic despot that [it] couldn't somehow support." Apparently, murderous-psychopathic-despot Gadhafi is proving no exception to this general rule. Of course, since all of the delegates cited above have a well-grounded reputation for respecting basic human rights, we're at a loss to understand why rebel leaders wouldn't rush to approve the plan, nonetheless.
After all, it calls merely for ending NATO air support, the only thing protecting the rebels from almost certain annihilation by Gadhafi's army. The plan also conveniently leaves Gadhafi in power and effectively marginalizes the rebels. Other than that, we see no good reason why the rebels wouldn't like the road-kill -- er, -map.
Finally, we should reiterate our caveat that we're not by any means convinced the "cure" will be better than the "disease," should the rebels prevail. That is to say, with known al-Qa'ida elements backing the rebels, why should we believe that their answer for governing Libya will be any better than that of the murderous Gadhafi's? For our part, any "road map" that includes Gadhafi, the Muslim Brotherhood, the AU or al-Qa'ida is a road to nowhere.
Fukushima Grows More Like Chernobyl
While time and the usual tumult of world events have pushed Japan from the front pages, its recovery from the March earthquake and tsunami continues. On Wednesday, the government downgraded its economic forecast, saying that reduced production and consumer spending would limit growth. Reports from the stricken Fukushima nuclear power plant are not good, either. Due to the high radiation levels released from the plant, Japanese officials boosted the disaster's severity rating from 5 to 7 on the International Nuclear Event scale, the same level reached at Chernobyl in April 1986.
Even as they upgraded the disaster's severity, officials stressed that the current disaster isn't anywhere near Chernobyl's, with Hidehiko Nishiyama, spokesman for Japan's Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency, saying that the total amount of radiation released is about a tenth that of Chernobyl. He also pointed out that while there were 29 deaths from high radiation exposure at Chernobyl, there were no deaths at Fukushima, at least not yet. Nishiyama also noted that the Chernobyl reactor itself exploded and caused a graphite fire that burned for days, spreading a radioactive cloud around the world, whereas the Fukushima reactor pressure and containment vessels were still largely intact, allowing the worst of the radioactive contamination to be contained locally. Still, the plant's operator, Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), warned that since radioactive materials are still being released, the Fukushima contamination could eventually exceed that of Chernobyl.
Efforts to stabilize Fukushima continue to be hampered by setbacks. On Monday, a 7.1 magnitude aftershock centered in Fukushima shut down for about an hour the power supply and the makeshift cooling systems at the plant, and on Tuesday TEPCO reported a small fire in a battery unit outside reactor No. 4. Both events serve as a reminder of how precarious the situation is. The Japanese still face months to bring Fukushima's reactors under full control, and years, possibly decades, to clean up the plant itself and the surrounding area.
Immigration Front: Ninth Circuit Deals Blow to AZ Immigration LawA three-judge panel of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the block of Arizona's immigration law this week. They ruled that U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton, a Clinton appointee, acted correctly in blocking parts of the law pertaining to immigration status inquiries by police in the performance of other duties. The Obama administration filed suit against the law last year in federal court claiming that it overstepped powers assigned to the Executive. In signing the legislation, Arizona Republican Gov. Jan Brewer argued that the federal government was not exercising its power, and the proof came in a porous southern border and high crime rates among illegal immigrants. Many states were eager to follow Brewer's example, but the lawsuit and budget constraints have given them pause. Brewer has promised to take the case to the Supreme Court. First, however, she will have to appeal before the full Ninth Circuit, which is both the most liberal in the nation and, not coincidentally, the most frequently overturned. Meanwhile, Georgia passed a similar law on Thursday. The legislation provides authority for law enforcement to check immigration status of criminal suspects, and requires businesses to confirm that new hires are legally eligible to work. It's uncertain whether Republican Gov. Nathan Deal will sign the bill. Business & EconomyIncome Redistribution: Tax Freedom DayStop reading this and add up all the paychecks you received from January 1 through April 12 of this year. Now, write a check for that amount to the government. In essence, you have done just that, for as the Tax Foundation recently announced, April 12 was this year's Tax Freedom day, meaning "Americans will work well over three months of the year, from January 1 to April 12, before earning enough money to pay this year's tax obligations at the federal, state and local levels." According to the Cato Institute's Dan Mitchell, this is the good news. "The bad news is that Tax Freedom Day only measures the direct and immediate impact of taxation. It doesn't measure the overall burden of government." If the federal government were to collect enough taxes this year to fund all its spending, Tax Freedom Day wouldn't come until May 23. Yet, despite Americans' working 102 days for the government, Big Brother's wanton spending addiction alone accounts for why Uncle Sam still won't collect enough in taxes to close this year's projected $1.48 trillion federal budget deficit (the latest addition to our $14.2 trillion national debt). Take heart, though. With this year's tax filing deadline extended to April 18, if you still owe the government money, you have three more days than usual before you have to hand it in. A Black Eye for Government MotorsGeneral Motors surely spent plenty of money to focus-group the name of its newest compact car. Dubbed the Chevy Cruze, it replaced a poor-selling Cobalt model, and the hopes were that it would take on a growing field of popular imported cars of similar design and size. We're certain GM's idea of cruising, though, didn't involve driving without the steering wheel. Yet that's what happened to one unfortunate Cruze owner who suddenly found himself holding a detached and useless steering wheel as he motored down the road. GM blamed an assembly error where the wrong steering wheel was originally installed on the car, then replaced with the correct one -- but the second one wasn't properly secured. Even though GM saw this as an isolated incident, 2,100 Cruzes have been recalled to dealerships for a steering wheel inspection. Luckily for the Cruze's driver, the car cruzed off the road safely, but sloppy assembly and inspection practices by union workers may yet, to borrow one of CEO Barack Obama's favorite phrases, drive the Chevy Cruze (and Government Motors) into the ditch. Walmart's Left Turn Has the Company ReelingProgressives love to spout lofty "ideals" about what people should think, how they should live, and what they should purchase, but what happens when these ideals are actually put into action? For the most part, they crash and burn spectacularly. Walmart has learned this lesson the hard way -- with a direct hit to its pocketbook. After experiencing losses for seven straight quarters, the retail giant is launching "It's Back," a return to the simple, inexpensive products that attracted its customers in the first place. The cause of Walmart's nosedive is no mystery; it can be traced back to 2006, when the retail giant hired Leslie Dach, certified leftist and former senior aid to "green" gas bag Al Gore. As the new head of public relations, Dach immediately set to work trying to "educate" the average Joe on environmentally safe products, organic foods and, of course, politics. Not only did he push his agendas on the store shelves, he also pushed universal health care and other leftist causes in the company's boardrooms. The company has had to realize its own "inconvenient truth": Walmart shoppers are not as easily manipulated as Dach and his cohorts had thought, and many of them have chosen to spend their money elsewhere rather than have "progressivism" rammed down their throats. Former Walmart executive Jimmy Wright, borrowing from Ronald Reagan's famous quote about why the Gipper had switched political parties, said it best: "The basic Walmart customer didn't leave Walmart. What happened is that Walmart left the customer." Culture & PolicyClimate Change This Week: Mother Earth Has Rights, TooJust in time for "International Mother Earth Day," the South American nation of Bolivia is set to introduce a treaty to the United Nations reflective of its own recently passed law which gives human rights to "Mother Earth." Pablo Salon, Bolivia's representative to the UN, stated that it's a question of "balance" in calling for a legal framework to protect the rights of Mother Earth -- rights such as life, water, clean air, freedom from pollution, and to repair livelihoods affected by human activity. Socialist Bolivian President Evo Morales (who was named a "World Hero of Mother Earth" in 2009) spearheaded the effort in his own nation, which in January adopted the Law of the Rights of Mother Earth. Among other things, it established a Ministry of Mother Earth and appointed an ombudsman to hear the "voice" of the planet as spoken through interested advocates. In 2008 Morales came to the UN touting Bolivia's plan to "save the planet," with one goal being "to end capitalism." Obviously this UN treaty, if passed, would make life more difficult for companies wishing to exploit (in the capitalist sense of the word) natural resources worldwide. Several mining companies operating in Bolivia are expecting more scrutiny as the new laws take hold. So far, though, only a handful of countries, including neighboring Ecuador, have expressed their support for the UN treaty. Readers may recall that in 2005 the UN predicted 50 million global warming refugees by 2010, so its track record of falling for environmentalist, anti-capitalist hype isn't all that good. Don't be surprised if some version of this treaty isn't foisted upon Mother Earth sometime soon. Meanwhile, pot growers may be contributing to global warming. A recent study by Evan Mills of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory found that the green of marijuana isn't so green after all. In fact, growing pot indoors leaves a large carbon footprint. This is, like, whoa, bad news, man. Village Academic Curriculum: The Chicago Lunch CodeIn February, it was reported that Michelle Obama's showplace for her campaign for healthy kids' meals, the Chicago Public Schools, is having difficulty selling the First Lady's baloney to kids. When more healthful meal options were introduced, sales of school lunches dropped by 5 percent from the prior year. There were many accounts of students throwing away their lunches, while others opted for "cookies and slushies" from the canteen or simply waited until they got home to eat. The vast majority of students viewed the new food options as, er, "undesirable." One school, however, found a solution -- ban alternative sources of food entirely. At Little Village Academy on Chicago's West Side, students are not allowed to pack lunches from home. Unless they have a medical excuse, they must eat the food served in the cafeteria. Understandably, this has students in revolt. In typical nanny-state thinking, the principal says it's her intention to protect students from their own unhealthful food choices. This decision has economic ramifications. Any school that bans homemade lunches also puts more money in the pockets of the district's food provider. The federal government pays the district for each free or reduced-price lunch taken, and the caterer receives a set fee from the district per lunch. Antitrust laws were enacted to increase consumer choice. In the world of antitrust, when a person with monopoly power in one market, say a school or a public school system, makes a consumer buy something in another market that the consumer doesn't want or need in order to get the good or service it wants, it's called a "tie-in." In Chicago, if you want a public education, in some schools you now have to take the meals provided by the district's caterer, whether or not you want them. This reduces Chicago public school meals to a form of Hobson's Choice -- "you can have a free meal from us, or nothing at all."
And Last...
Vice President Joe Biden listened in to his boss's budget speech Wednesday with open ears. Too bad his eyes were closed. As ABC's blog The Note reports, "Biden, at one point, could be seen apparently nodding off -- or at least deep in thought. The bug was catching, too. The woman in glasses directly behind Biden appears to close her eyes too."
We didn't consider the president's hyper-partisan speech to be a snoozer, but perhaps that's because we're not his right-hand yes-man. The president will most certainly be displeased to learn that his vice campaigner was off sawing logs, but not to worry: If the vice presidential gig doesn't work out in 2012, Joe could always apply for a job as an air-traffic controller.

You are one of my 20.......
The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took
only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people
demanded it. That was in 1971...before computers, before e-mail,
before cell phones, etc.
Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took 1 year or
less to become the law of the land...all because of public pressure.
I'm asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of twenty
people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do
likewise.
In three days, most people in The United States of America will have
the message. This is one idea that really should be passed around.
Congressional Reform Act of 2011
1. Term Limits.
12 years only, one of the possible options below..
A. Two Six-year Senate terms
B. Six Two-year House terms
C. One Six-year Senate term and three Two-Year House terms
2. No Tenure / No Pension.
A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.
3. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social
Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social
Security system, and Congress participates with the American people.
4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.
5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
7. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.
8. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/11.
The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen.
Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves.
Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers
envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s),
then go home and back to work.
If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only
take three days for most people (in the U.S. ) to receive the message.
Maybe it is time.
THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!!!!! If you agree with the above, pass it
on. If not, just delete
You are one of my 20+. Please keep it going.

Internet Sales Tax to be Introduced in US Senate
Published April 17, 2011
WASHINGTON -- Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) could propose sweeping legislation as soon as Monday to tax all online purchases, in a move aimed at closing states' budget shortfalls.
Such a tax would plow more than $1 billion in tax revenues into New York's state coffers for the 2012 budget, according to some estimates. William Fox, a University of Tennessee economics professor, said that based on his own estimates, New York lost about $865.5 million in tax revenues in 2010 -- almost enough to close that year's $1 billion budget deficit -- based on its four percent tax rate.

The House voted 260-167 to approve the legislation, with 59 Republicans rejecting the bipartisan deal Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) struck with President Obama and Senate Democrats.
Eighty-one Democrats voted in favor of the deal -- 108 split with Obama to oppose it.
The Senate signed off hours later on a vote of 81-19, sending the bill to Obama for his signature.
The bill's passage marked a hard-fought but bruising victory for Boehner on his 100th day as Speaker. As conservatives began to sour on the deal, Boehner made an aggressive late push to defend it, appearing on right-leaning TV and radio shows and using large charts on the House floor to argue for its passage. Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) introduced today an "amendment to the United States Constitution that would apply term limits to all members of Congress,"
He is joined by ten Republican senators introducing amendment that would apply term limits to all members of Congress. The legislation, S.J. Res. 11, would limit U.S. Representatives to three terms and U.S. Senators to two terms in office. As an amendment to the U.S. Constitution, it would require a two-thirds majority vote approval in the House and Senate and must be ratified by three-fourths of the states. Today's Headlines: Friday, April 15, 2011
Rep. Scott: Taxing Those At $100,000 And Up at 100% Will Not Get Us Out Of This Year's Deficit (CNSNews.com) - "The President tries to tax our way out of debt, placing the burden on those earning more than $100,000," Rep. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) said on the House floor Thursday morning. "If we were to tax these individuals 100 percent of their income, we still could not cover our deficit this year alone. As a matter of fact, to tax our way out of debt we would need to increase taxes across the board on every man, on every woman and every business by 60 percent."
Records Released of 'Everyone' Who's Come Through the White House Doors? Not Quite, Says Watchdog Group Washington (CNSNews.com) - White House visitor logs released by the administration are incomplete, listing mostly people taking part in group tours or public social events but at times leaving out visits by lobbyists, campaign donors and friends, according to a government watchdog group. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said it is not a matter of trying to conceal information from the public.
Gov. Scott Walker: Collective Bargaining Is Not a Basic Human Right Washington (CNSNews.com) - Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who waged a tough political battle with government union employees in his state earlier this year, told CNSNews.com that collective bargaining is not a basic human right. "It's essentially a negotiated entitlement," he said.
Boehner Defends Budget Deal But Says 'It Has Caused Some Confusion' (CNSNews.com) - House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said the deal to cut $38.5 billion from the 2011 budget reached last week between House Republicans and Democrats was "no cause for celebration," but he also defended the agreement from criticism by many conservatives who believe that the spending cuts are not big enough to make an impact on the nation's burgeoning debt. "Let's understand that we're cutting $38-and-a-half billion in money that has already been authorized and appropriated. And anybody who doesn't believe that this money wouldn't be spent if we don't act is kidding themselves."
GOP Senators Propose Social Security Reform (CNSNews.com) - Republican Sens. Lindsey Graham (S.C.), Mike Lee (Utah) and Rand Paul (Ky.) have unveiled a plan that they say would reform Social Security without raising taxes or resorting to private retirement accounts. The plan advanced by the three GOP senators would preserve Social Security's solvency for the next 75 years by raising the retirement age to 70 by 2032 and by "means testing" benefits beginning in 2018.
Conservative, Military Leaders Join Call for Electric Cars, Increased Oil Drilling (CNSNews.com) - Conservative leader Gary Bauer and former Marine Corps Commandant Gen. James Conway are among those lobbying for government policies that increase electric vehicle production and domestic oil drilling. Those two policies are key elements in ending America's dependence on foreign oil, says the Secure America's Future Energy (SAFE) coalition.
Interior Secretary: House Members Who Passed Legislation To Jump-Start Drilling in Gulf of Mexico 'Have Amnesia' (CNSNews.com) - Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar said passage of three bills in the House of Representatives to jump-start drilling in the Gulf of Mexico shows that Republican lawmakers "have amnesia." "Some of the members of our Congress are acting as though the Deepwater Horizon, the Macondo well oil spill, never happened," Salazar said. "It did happen."
Palestinians Buoyed by 'Birth Certificate' for Independent State (CNSNews.com) - The Palestine Liberation Organization is edging closer to achieving independence on at least some of the territory it claims. The Palestinian leadership hopes to win U.N. recognition of an independent state comprising all of the West Bank and Gaza, with Jerusalem as its capital.
For Iran and Its State Media, Syrian Unrest Is a Non-Issue, or a Foreign Plot (CNSNews.com) - Iran officials and state media continue to ignore, downplay, or see conspiracies behind the anti-government protests and violent clampdown in Syria, in sharp contrast to their response to unrest elsewhere in the Arab world. On Thursday, State Department spokesman Mark Toner told reporters there was "credible information that Iran is assisting Syria" to put down the anti-government protests. "I'm not going to get into details about that material assistance, but it's of real concern to us," he said.
Democrats Re-Introduce Bill to Let U.S. Citizens Sponsor Their Same-Sex Partners For Legal ResidencyWashington (CNSNews.com) - Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.), joined by several other House Democrats, has re-introduced a bill -- the Uniting American Families Act -- which would permit American citizens to sponsor their same-sex partners for legal residency in the United States. The status-quo is "cruel," Nadler said. The bill has little chance of passing.
Chevy Chase: Obama May Not Have 'Anticipated' What Was 'Most Important to the Electorate' (CNSNews.com) - Actor and comedian Chevy Chase says President Barack Obama is a "young" leader who may lack the "perspective" to understand what is "most important to the electorate." COMMENTARY:
Obama Blows up the Bridge By Patrick J. Buchanan "Rather than building bridges, he's poisoning wells," said Rep. Paul Ryan, after listening to Barack Obama's scathing attack on his deficit reduction plan. Ryan is right. Yet, with Obama's partisan savagery, virtually calling the GOP plan immoral, we have clarity: There will be no grand bipartisan bargain on taxes and spending. The two parties and the president will not be coming together to solve the gravest financial and fiscal crisis America has faced since the Great Depression.
Justice and Decency By L. Brent Bozell III Delay and indecision are beginning to define the Obama administration. The Obama Justice Department cannot decide whether to file an appeal to the Supreme Court in the "fleeting profanity" case called Fox vs. FCC. They've filed two extensions, and the latest deadline is April 21. Without an appeal, the Second Circuit's evisceration of any limitation on broadcast cursing will stand. If you think the Idiot Box is foul now, wait until Hollywood is allowed to be as gross as it wants. Clearly, President Obama apparently doesn't want to offend his financial base in Hollywood.
America, the Dependent By Michelle Malkin So much for the new era of fiscal responsibility. After vowing to eliminate funding for President Obama's bloated $6 billion AmeriCorps social justice army, House Republicans retreated -- and will shrink the AmeriCorps budget by a minuscule 6.7 percent. With bipartisan support, the program has morphed into an all-purpose progressive slush fund whose social justice army is dedicated to signing up as many people as possible for food stamps.

NYC Tea Party Pre-Party
The Patriot Saloon
Friday, April 15
3:30pm-6 pm
110 Chambers St New York, NY 10007 212.748.1162
For cheap eats and drinks and a jukebox blasting Johnny Cash, look no further than this two-story Tribeca haunt. This bar's patriotic-frat house décor feels strangely appropriate. (We're talking light-up beer signs and bras hanging from the rafters next to American flags.) While you're getting down to some boot-knocking country music, you can order a pitcher of beer for the price of a Bud Light bottle at your standard NYC nightclub (No kidding!) Their $2 frozen margaritas, $3 Heinekens and $1.25 sliders are other wallet-happy specials.
The Patriot is a big space, but don't be fooled-it gets pretty crowded and rowdy, especially Thursday-Saturday.

Why $38.5B budget deal will only cut spending by $352M
The budget vote was a joke
A Congressional Budget Office analysis of the fiscal 2011 spending deal that Congress passed Thursday concludes that it would cut spending this year by less than one-one hundredth of what both Republicans or Democrats have claimed.
A comparison prepared by the CBO shows that the omnibus spending bill, advertised as containing some $38.5 billion in cuts, will only reduce federal outlays by $352 million below 2010 spending rates. The nonpartisan budget agency also projects that total outlays are actually some $3.3 billion more than in 2010, if emergency spending is included in the total.

Healthful behavior is a key to health care system
Healthful behavior?
As the House takes up Rep. Paul Ryan's budget proposal that caps Medicare spending and turns it over to private insurers, some health care industry experts say it won't work without a key piece: encouraging healthy behavior.
"Behavior is central to health care," said Bob Nease, chief scientist at Express Scripts, which manages health benefits for more than 50 million people. "The health care system's been barking up the wrong tree."

Obama, Cameron and Sarkozy: No let-up in Libya until Gaddafi departs
The "anti-war" President
President Obama today signals the return of America to the forefront of the international effort in Libya, writing a joint article with David Cameron and Nicolas Sarkozy in which the three leaders commit their countries to pursue military action until Colonel Gaddafi has been removed.
In the joint article, Obama reverses America's earlier cautious approach to the conflict - which saw the US hand control to Nato and withdraw fighter planes just days after the intervention began - and signs up his country to the more muscular intervention of his European colleagues.

Take Action in our "Spring Into Action" Campaign!
Yesterday, we launched our "Spring Into Action 2011" local activism plan with a live webcast reviewing the things you can do during the upcoming 2-week congressional recess. If you missed our webcast, you can watch it here.
As our Deputy Director Anne Manetas pointed out during our webcast, the one thing we keep hearing from Capitol Hill is that Members of Congress need to hear about the immigration issue back home in their districts. Your faxing and phoning efforts defeated the DREAM Act Amnesty last fall, but now that conditions are favorable for moving meaningful immigration-reduction legislation, we need you to make contact with your elected officials and/or members of their staff while they are in your district.
After a few votes on the Hill today, all Senators and House Members will be heading home for the rest of the month. Yesterday, you should have received at least one action alert detailing the actions you can take over the next two weeks.
Early next week, check your Action Board for faxes that we'll deliver to your Members' district offices, and we'll also be notifying you of any town halls that may be held in your area.
POSITIVE STATE ACTIONS: We had some great news come out of Georgia last night when the state Senate and House agreed on a mandatory E-Verify bill. Thanks to all our Georgia activists who kept this legislation on the front-burner and forced action on it.
Several other states also advanced enforcement legislation this week, including Indiana, Tennessee and Florida.
Thanks, Chris Chmielenski Director, Content & Activism

Two enterprising Reuters reporters tracked down a few of the recently-fired illegal Chipotle restaurant workers who admitted that they committed identity theft and/or fraud to land a job at the fast-food chain. Since illegal employment and identity theft have been linked before, these confessions aren't surprising. What the fired workers told reporters next, however, is more newsworthy.

Immigration Subcommittee Debates the Merits of the H-2A Visa Program
By Jonathan Osborne, Wednesday, April 13, 2011
The House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Policy and Enforcement hosted a hearing Wednesday morning titled "The H-2A Visa Program: Meeting the Growing Needs of American Agriculture?" While it is very clear that the H-2A program needs to be reformed and made more user friendly, it's apparent that some Members of Congress are eager to jump on the AgJOBS Amnesty bandwagon to "legalize" the "undocumented" workers and expect them to stay in agriculture instead of migrating over to other industries like construction.

'Gay' Prop 8 judge may be 'direct beneficiary' of ruling | Several prominent legal analysts have suggested that the ruling from Vaughn Walker, who formerly was a federal judge, that vanquished the vote of Californians on Proposition 8 defining marriage as between one man and one woman should be vacated immediately because the judge likely is a "direct beneficiary" of his own ruling.
It was common knowledge and regularly reported during the trial that Walker is homosexual. But in an interview with Reuters only days ago, he revealed additional details about his personal life. | Read the latest now on WND.com.

The UN 'disappears' 50 million climate refugees, then botches the cover-up
Published April 16, 2011
Oh boy, government idiocy at its finest. Not only is the original claim bogus, the attempts to disappear it are hilariously inept. Apparently, they've never heard of Google Cache at the UN. Rather than simply saying "we were wrong," they've now brought even more distrust onto the UN.
Back on April 11th, Gavin Atkins of Asian Correspondent asked this simple question: What happened to the climate refugees?
It is a valid question, and he backs it up with census numbers. Here's the first part of his story.
In 2005, the United Nations Environment Programme predicted that climate change would create 50 million climate refugees by 2010. These people, it was said, would flee a range of disasters including sea level rise, increases in the numbers and severity of hurricanes, and disruption to food production

New Tone? Olbermann wishes SE Cupp was never born
There's evidence to suggest that Keith Olbermann is getting a little nervous as he sits alone, very alone, in his NYC apartment tweeting all day long. Nervous that literally no one cares about anything he says anymore - so now he's resorted to despicable rhetoric against women (again) to get attention. This time, SE Cupp was the target after she criticized Planned Parenthood during a TV interview. SE joined radio today and gave her first response to Olbermann's hideous comments. Watch it HERE.
Obama: 'You think we are stupid?'
Don't answer that. Obama was caught on tape saying what he actually thought about the budget negotiations: "I said you want to repeal health care? Go at it. We'll have that debate. You're not going to be able to do that by nickel-and-diming me in the budget. You think we're stupid?" Get the full story from The Blaze.
America: It's time to dump Trump
ABC News was shocked to learn that Obama was all too eager to talk about Donald Trump during a recent interview. They shouldn't be surprised - anyone pushing the ridiculous birther theory is a friend to Obama because it's the only issue The President wins on (and rightfully so) in 2012. What did Obama say about Trump? Get all the details from radio today.
Father Pfleger & left turn on Obama
What is the left hoping for? Will they not sleep until the Constitution is literally set on fire? What does Comrade Obama have to do to make them happy? Chicago priest and 'close friend' asked, 'Where is the man that I voted for?' and says he hasn't seen the real Barack Obama in a long, long time. Really? This is tame? What does the 'real' Obama look like? Audio and reaction on GlennBeck.com.
Rand Paul defends Tea Party on Senate Floor
Rand Paul gave a spirited defense of the Tea Party in the midst of a concerted effort by the left to paint Tea Party supported candidates as the big villain behind the budget battle. Check out Paul's 8 min speech courtesy of The Blaze.
