"The apportionment of taxes on the various descriptions of property is an act which seems to require the most exact impartiality; yet there is, perhaps, no legislative act in which greater opportunity and temptation are given to a predominant party to trample on the rules of justice. Liberty Under Seige

On Tuesday, April 12th (7:00 PM), we are having a very important, urgent event on the-oppressive and lagging human rights-women, homosexuals, minorities, non-Islamic religions-under Shari'a Law both abroad and here in United States.  We recognize that part of what adds to the conflict is that in Islamic countries there is no separation mosque and state.  Of course, therein lays the problem because to question any Government entity is to question Allah and that is a crime punishable in various ways, depending on who you are.  This ultimately suppresses freedom of speech and encourages and perpetuates a torturous cycle of suppression of thought and expression.

There will be a Q&A at the end.

The event is meant to raise awareness of the horrific human crimes/conditions of persons both abroad and in America under Shari'a Law.

You can also find our Facebook event page here where you can confirm and through which you can invite as many persons as you'd like:

If you aren't familiar with our organization Temple University Purpose, we are an aggressive, inclusive Political/Advocacy student organization that does not subscribe to political correctness.  We are neither politically nor religiously affiliated.  However, one shouldn't mistake us as a neutral organization because that implies that one stands for nothing - we, however, stand for a lot.  And, in this particular case, we stand for the human rights of all.

We pride ourselves in introducing conversations and creating a dialogue and debates on issues that otherwise would be omitted from the Temple University arena of thought and debate.

Go See Atlas Shrugged on April 15th

Click Here To See Atlas Shrugged

As many of you know, the much-anticipated April 15th release of the Atlas Shrugged film is less than a week away! Based on Ayn Rand's classic novel which celebrates limited government, free markets and individual liberty, Atlas Shrugged is being called a made for Tea Party film.

Find a theater near you showing Atlas Shrugged!

Maybe that's because as millions of Tea Party supporters have rallied over the past two years, many have brought with them signs like those above-referencing Atlas Shrugged. As you rally on April 15th for your local Tax Day protest, I urge you to go see this important film.

The film is set in a not-so-distant future in which government has taken control of the means of production, bureaucrats have impose harmful regulations on businesses and turmoil in the Middle East has sent oil prices skyrocketing. Sound familiar?

On April 15th, Atlas Shrugged will be released in 300 theaters across America-but even more theaters are lined up if we can demonstrate our support for this film.

Click here to see where the film is playing near you! If you can't find a showing close to you, demand that the film is shown in your town.

I urge you to take your family, friends, neighbors and coworkers to see this important film on April 15th. Many activists are already organizing to go see the film right now on FreedomConnector. Atlas Shrugged has the opportunity to introduce millions more around the world to the philosophy of freedom. But if that's going to happen-if this life-changing film is going to be shown in thousands of theaters-we need your help.

As thousands of liberty-minded grassroots activists gather across America for Tax Day protests on April 15th, go see Atlas Shrugged. If it's not yet being shown near you, demand that your theater shows Atlas Shrugged. Thank you for all your efforts a nd tireless support.

In Liberty,

Dear Patriot,

Thank you to all who came out for our April meeting!  I am very happy to report our speakers for the evening, Peter Brimelow and Louis March, were extremely well-received.

Here at the Thomas Jefferson Club, we do not apologize for Western Civilization; further, we stand steadfast in defense of our Western identity and traditions - the backbone of our American Republic.

Peter Brimelow (http://www.vdare.com/), referencing his 1995 national best-seller, Alien Nation: Common Sense About America's Immigration Disaster, presented startling immigration statistics that have come to fruition even more rapidly than predicted in his book.  Mr. Brimelow discussed two courses for America:  A multicultural squabble of nationalities or a strong Republic, committed to self-government and its Western core heritage.  He discussed the Political Correctness that permeates all aspects of private, public and political life - from the classroom to the boardroom, often silencing anyone who dares to speak out in defense of European-Americans and Middle America.  Mr. Brimelow also discussed voting trends along demographic lines, citing national elections as far back at the 1970s thru today.

Louis March (http://www.repgov.org/) presented, "What Should Conservatives Work to Conserve," which was met with a standing ovation.  Mr. March described in vivid detail what Americans have lost and yet stand to lose in the coming years and decades.  He discussed the powers today that are fanatically intent on converting America from a nation of Western descent, to something entirely different.  Mr. March reminded us that Western Civilization includes countless explorers, generals, pioneers and others who conquered four continents in three centuries.  Our civilization includes legions of men and women who blazed the trails, sailed the seas and conquered space.  And it was Westerners who first soared above the earth and delved deep beneath the ocean's surface, and even walked upon the moon.

I have never witnessed a more energized and enlightened crowd!  At the conclusion of a standing ovation that lasted several minutes, the only comment from the audience was: "How do we get started!?"

A thousand mile journey begins with the first step.  And the task before us now is to inspire and build.  If you would like to join us in this effort, please reply to this email with your name and full contact information to include address and phone number

I very much look forward to the future with hope and optimism, our Western forefathers (and mothers!) faced much adversity as well.  It is in their spirit that we march forward.

For full coverage of both Peter Brimelow and Louis March's speech, please visit our friends at Diggers Realm: http://www.diggersrealm.com/mt/archives/003518.html.  I would also like to thank RePatriot Radio and the Patriots of Lower Bucks for their support of our meeting.  Photos will be up soon on the website, http://www.thomasjeffersonclub.org/.

All the best,

Jeff McGeary

US Black student leaders slam 'apartheid' characterization

Letter says "decency, justice and hope compel us to demand immediate cessation to deliberate misappropriation of words."
NEW YORK - African-American student leaders from a variety of historically black colleges and universities took out full page ads in numerous American college newspapers Thursday, displaying an "Open Letter to Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP)," to convey that they were offended by SJP's use of the term "apartheid" at recent Israel Apartheid Week events at campuses across the country.

The 16 signatories to the letter are students and alumni from historically black colleges and universities who are members of the Vanguard Leadership Group, a leadership development academy and honor society for top students. The letter ran or is slated to run in student newspapers at Brown University, University of California- Los Angeles, University of Maryland and Columbia University over the next few days.

Challenging the Leftist Domination of the Jewish Community

Change is in the air. From the toppling of Middle East potentates to the Tea Party's dramatic rise to the recent historic public employee union legislation enacted across the Midwest, things suddenly seem to be turned on their heads. And from the unlikely location of central Indiana a new model has arisen for Jews whose unequivocal support for Israel and America has hitherto been marginalized.

The Establishment of JAACI

With the withdrawal of B'nai Torah's JCRC membership, the long smoldering fire of pent-up frustration quickly ignited and spread to other congregations, community organizations, and individuals not only in Indianapolis, but throughout Jewish communities in Indiana. B'nai Torah's last representative on the JCRC, Elliot Bartky, spoke with a broad segment of the Jewish community around the state who shared B'nai Torah's frustration and were convinced of the need to...

The repercussions of a UN recognition of Palestine

By Ted Belman

The PA has been hard at work of late lining up votes in the UNGA for the recognition of the state of Palestine with pre '67 borders with the eastern part of Jerusalem as its capital.

They intend to use the "Uniting for Peace" procedure to avoid a possible UNSC veto regardless of whether the procedure is legal. (See; The UN Charter Cannot Support GA Resolution 377). Were they to get such recognition the repercussions would be significant.

Alan Baker, who was legal counsel for Israel in the drafting of the Oslo Accords and is currently associated with the Jerusalem Center of Public Affairs, recently published The Palestinian UN Gamble - Irresponsible and Ill-Advised. He summarized his article as follows

"While such a resolution would not have the authority to alter the legal status of the territories, the negative consequences of such a course of action would nevertheless serve to void the very basis of the peace process. It would undermine the legal...

Democratic Congressman: Obama is Lying About Libyan Costs
By Seth McLaughlin, The Washington Times

A Democratic lawmaker says the White House is "dramatically underestimating" the true cost of the military's involvement in Libya by relying on accounting that obscures the total financial burden being saddled on taxpayers.

Rep. Brad Sherman, a lawyer and accountant, told The Washington Times on Thursday that more accurate accounting of the mission would provide a clearer picture of just how much money the U.S. pours into this and other U.N.-backed missions while putting Congress in a better position to....

RedState

RedState Morning Briefing

For April 11, 2011

1. It's What Happens When the Stupid Party and Evil Party Get Together

There is a quote out there that sometimes get attributed to Republican Senate Leader Everett Dirksen and sometimes not. The quote is that there two parties in Washington - the stupid party and the evil party. Every once in a while the stupid party and the evil party get together and do something that is both stupid and evil. In Washington, that is called bipartisanship.

Our United States Senate, led by Republican Senator Saxby Chambliss of Georgia and Democratic Senator Mark Warner of Virginia are on the verge of leading the Congress into doing something both stupid and evil.

It will be heralded by the Washington Press Corp as a grownup act of bipartisan.

To give you a sense of just how bad it is, even Barack Obama is getting in on the act and signaling he will support what Chambliss and Warner come up with if only as a way to shut down serious conversation about Paul Ryan's "Path to Prosperity."

2. It's Obamacare, Stupid

Many establishment conservatives are agog with joy over the grand sellout of a budget deal. They feel that John Boehner was the real winner in the debate. The problem is that they are all focusing on the dollar amount of the discretionary spending cuts. They are forgetting the 800-pound gorilla in the room; Obamacare. The cost of O-care to our economy, liberty, consumer choice, and health care system is incalculable; certainly ions more than the diminutive $38 billion (really $26 billion in new cuts) in discretionary cuts that were secured by Boehner.

The Wall Street Journal penned a disingenuous op-ed lauding the spending deal as the " first victory for the Tea Party." They further admonished conservatives for criticizing the deal.

3. Romney Announces Exploratory PAC

Almost exactly five years after signing Romneycare into law, Mitt Romney has announced (via Twitter) that he is officially forming his exploratory PAC committee, which is the first official step towards an inevitable Presidential run. As a guy who reluctantly came around to supporting Romney in 2008, I cannot see how Mitt Romney expects to harness any of the anger over Obamacare which propelled Republicans to victory in 2010, given that he himself implemented a healthcare plan that is identical in all almost all its particulars.

4. "We Are One!" - Unions and Communists Rally in Chicago

You could say that they are one now. At least, there's no denying they're breaking bread and sipping from the same can of alphabet soup these days under the banner of so-called "solidarity."

Over the weekend, thousands of union workers crowded in Chicago's Daley Plaza to show their solidarity(!) with their union comrades in Wisconsin.

5. Children Of The Corn - How Ethanol Damages America!

So let's make a deal! I'll give you a new source of fuel that has 1/3 the energy of your gasoline. In return for that, I'll dramatically decrease the food supply. As a result of this screaming bargain, you'll end up spending more cash on gasoline to make up for the lost power from this new fuel additive. And furthermore, once we've obliterated metric tons of food production, governments all over the Middle East will become destabilized and disrupt the original supply of fuel we were using before I offered you this bargain. If this sounds about as enticing as the offer Agent Smith made to Cypher Reagan, that only means you are intelligent and have been paying attention.

6. SEIU Demonstrates Its Lack of Civility With 'Civil Disobedience'

You've certainly seen enough video footage of the unruly union mobs in Madison, WI for the last two months. Well, the SEIU has taken its mob show on the road and, like the pioneers of old, headed West.

Budget Deal Divides Left And Right

Congressional leaders reached a deal at the 11th hour Friday night that has temporarily avoided a government shutdown. As is often the case with Washington deals, no one is happy. Liberals think Obama caved and conservatives think Republicans caved. Consider these headlines: "Budget Deal Leaves Liberals Disheartened" and "Tea Party Movement Activists Split On Budget Deal."

Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are not happy today. The New York Times' ultra-liberal economist Paul Krugman is not a happy camper either. Here is an excerpt of Krugman's column today:

"What have they done with President Obama? What happened to the inspirational figure his supporters thought they elected? Who is this bland, timid guy who doesn't seem to stand for anything in particular? ...Maybe that terrible deal, in which Republicans ended up getting more than their opening bid, was the best he could achieve -- although it looks from here as if the president's idea of how to bargain is to start by ... making pre-emptive concessions, then pursue a second round of negotiation with the G.O.P., leading to further concessions."

Now consider this from the center-right Wall Street Journal:

"One of the ironies of Friday's budget deal is that it is being criticized both by Ms. Pelosi and some conservative Republicans. We can understand Ms. Pelosi's angst. But conservatives are misguided if they think they could have done much better than Mr. Boehner... Republicans need to stay united for the bigger fights to come this year, and for now they and the tea party can take credit for spending cuts that even Mr. Obama feels politically obliged to sell as historic."

I commend House conservatives who oppose the deal like Mike Pence and Michele Bachmann. It is good that there is pressure from the right so that the leadership knows that it can't just roll over. Having worked in all eight years of Ronald Reagan's administrations, I'm tired of seeing government getting bigger and bigger.

At the same time, I realize John Boehner is in a difficult position. Friends, we have to remember that this budget fight is just one battle in a bigger war. The ultimate goal is to have a conservative House, a conservative Senate and a conservative in the White House. Yet, the closer we got to a government shutdown, the more the media's narrative of "GOP extremism," i.e., denying soldiers' pay over Planned Parenthood, gained ground. We cannot govern America with just the House of Representatives and Fox News.

The bottom line is this: We are not in this mess because of John Boehner. We are in this mess because the Democrats still control the Senate and the White House. They also have a liberal media that twists the facts and distorts what conservatives are trying to do.

I know a lot of folks are disappointed with this deal. But we will be devastated if Obama is reelected and Nancy Pelosi becomes Speaker of the House again after the 2012 elections. That's why CWF is working hard to make sure we win the bigger battle down the road. We are working to make sure that instead of 47 senators, we have as close to 60 as we can, working with a conservative president and a conservative House majority to make America a "shining city upon a hill" once again.

The Deal

Here are some points to consider on this budget deal as we understand it today:

  • Two months ago in his State of the Union Address, President Obama announced with much fanfare a "five-year spending freeze" after having dramatically increased spending for the last two years. His starting point was zero! A few weeks ago, Senate Democrats insisted they would accept no more than $10 billion in spending cuts. Anything beyond that was denounced as "extreme" and "draconian." In two months time, we've gone from no spending cuts to nearly $40 billion in cuts.
  • Keep in mind that we're talking about spending for the final six months of the 2011 fiscal year. Over a year's time, that would amount to nearly $80 billion in spending cuts -- close to the target of $100 billion and not bad for a party that controls only half of one-third of the federal government.
  • Depending how they are structured, $40 billion in cuts could lower the "baseline budget" for future spending. This deal may prevent hundreds of billions of dollars of additional spending over a 10-year period. That is "real money."
  • John Boehner saved the D.C. school voucher program with this deal. The real irony here is that Obama talks a lot about education and innovation, yet he is so beholden to his union allies that he shut down the popular D.C. school voucher program, forcing many of Washington, D.C.'s inner-city kids to stay in failing public schools. Thanks to Speaker Boehner many of them will now have a better education and a brighter future.
  • The deal also blocks additional money sought by the Obama Administration for the IRS; bans taxpayer dollars from paying for abortions in the District of Columbia; and forces Harry Reid to allow votes in the Senate on defunding Planned Parenthood and ObamaCare.

Now that we have a deal on the 2011 budget, we can turn to far greater issues like the debt ceiling and entitlement reform, where the debate will involve trillions, not billions. You can read my thoughts about Paul Ryan's proposal in my weekly Human Events column.

Obama Responds

If you needed more proof of which side won the debate, we got it Friday night when Obama delivered a speech from the White House with the Washington Monument in the background. While celebrating a deal that would keep the Monument open, Obama went on to sound like Ronald Reagan -- taking credit for signing a "tax cut for American families" as well as "the biggest annual spending cut in history."

Obama wouldn't take credit for these spending cuts unless the White House's polling unit was telling him that the American people were solidly behind them. He is embracing these cuts for purely political reasons. Obama will never win over the Tea Party movement, but he is desperately trying to make up ground with independent voters as the 2012 election approaches.

This week, Obama will reportedly respond to Paul Ryan's "Path to Prosperity" plan by releasing his own outline for dealing with the nation's long-term fiscal problems. While there are rumors that he may embrace some kind of entitlement reform, his top aides are insisting that tax hikes are a big part of Obama's plan.

As he looks toward 2012, Obama is looking to the future by taking out old pages from the Democrat playbook. In the days ahead, we will hear more populist calls for class warfare and higher taxes on the rich. Democrats often refuse to define "rich" until it's time to rewrite the tax laws. Then they settle on a figure that includes most of the middle class.

But in their zeal to punish success, Democrats expose their ignorance of fundamental economics. Liberals don't understand that government does not create jobs. Poor people don't start businesses. Jobs are created by men and women who have capital to invest. Ours is a consumer-driven economy, but the more government takes, the less you have to spend. That is why reducing government spending is so important to future economic growth. The more Republicans can connect those issues, the better.

2012 Race Heats Up

In a recent interview about life in the White House, President Obama said, "I just miss being anonymous." Trust me, Mr. President, a lot of Americans would like to forget about you too! I hope next year they will give you the chance to play as much golf as you would like. Meanwhile, the GOP presidential nominating race continues to gain momentum. Here is a quick rundown.

  • Today, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney formally jumped into the race, announcing the formation of a presidential exploratory committee. According to the latest USA Today poll, Romney is in a strong position in the key swing state of Florida.
  • This weekend, former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum won a big straw poll in South Carolina's largest county. Newt Gingrich finished second, while Michele Bachmann and Donald Trump tied for third. (More on Trump in a moment.)
  • Former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty signed on Nick Ayers as his campaign manager. This is significant because last year Ayers served as the executive director of the Republican Governors Association under Haley Barbour, whom Ayers had been expected to support.
  • Donald Trump continues to go where no major candidate will by demanding to see Obama's birth certificate. He has reportedly sent investigators to Hawaii. People are divided over whether this is a productive issue or not. Interestingly, however, the White House is attacking Trump, rather than ignoring him. Meanwhile, media elites are having nervous breakdowns over the fact that they just cannot make this issue go away.

I'm interested in your feedback. This weekend I spoke at an event for the Family Research Council and hosted a private reception at my home. I was surprised by the number of strong conservatives at both events who were open to Trump's candidacy. What do you think about Donald Trump? Is he a serious contender for the White House or a shameless self-promoter? Use this link to respond.

ACORN Pleads Guilty, But Obama Won't Investigate
By Judicial Watch

The criminal enterprise that Obama's Justice Department refuses to investigate despite extensive evidence of fraud and corruption is guilty of a felony in yet another state...

Facing more than a dozen felony charges in Nevada, ACORN pleaded guilty to one count this week for illegally paying canvassers to register voters during the 2008 presidential campaign. The deal means that ACORN will avoid going to trial, which was scheduled for later this month in Las Vegas. A judge will determine the sentence on August 10, according to a spokeswoman for the Nevada Attorney General's office, the prosecuting agency.

Since ACORN is a corporation, it will only be fined and there will be no prison term, the Attorney General's spokeswoman told Judicial Watch. The fine is expected to be a maximum of $5,000. In November the ACORN supervisor overseeing the illicit Nevada voter registration scheme pleaded no contest to two counts of conspiracy....

Rep.Steve King Sees Missed Opportunity in Budget Deal; Moving in Right Direction, Boehner Says
(CNSNews.com) - Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) says there's "no question" that government spending cuts are necessary and "long overdue," but he laments that the almost $39 billion in spending cuts agreed to late Friday were achieved in exchange for continued funding of the Democrats' health care law. House Speaker John Boehner agrees the deal struck late Friday was "imperfect," but he sees it as a "first step toward getting spending under control."

'Make No Mistake: I Oppose This Negotiated Deal,' Says Michele Bachmann

(CNSNews.com) - Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), who leads the Tea Party Caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives, expressed adamant opposition to the spending deal agreed to late Friday night by House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and President Barack Obama. "It does not: Cut enough spending, stop funding Planned Parenthood, or defund Obamacare," she tweeted on Saturday.

(CNSNews.com) - The 22-member Arab League on Sunday urged the U.N. Security Council to enforce a "no-fly" zone over the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, a call that stands in sharp contrast to its silence on the situation in Syria, where rights groups say more than 170 people have been killed in anti-government unrest since mid-March.

Boehner-Obama Deal Permits Funding for Group That Does 910 Abortions A Day

(CNSNews.com) - The deal on federal spending that House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) cut with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and President Barack Obama late Friday night permits federal funding to continue for Planned Parenthood, a group that does an average of 910 abortions per day. The Boehner-Obama deal includes a provision for a symbolic vote in the U.S. Senate on a stand-alone bill that would specifically prohibit federal funding of Planned Parenthood.

Debt Jumped $54.1 Billion in 8 Days Preceding Boehner-Obama Deal to Cut $38.5 Billion for Rest of Year

(CNSNews.com) - The federal debt increased $54.1 billion in the eight days preceding the deal made by President Barack Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Speaker John Boehner to cut $38.5 billion in federal spending for the remainder of fiscal year 2011, which runs through September. Since the beginning of the fiscal year on Oct. 1, 2010, the national debt has increased by $653.4 billion.

$38.5B Cuts in Boehner-Obama Deal Less Than 6 Percent of $653.4B In Debt Incurred Already This Fiscal Year

(CNSNews.com) - The deal includes $38.5 billion in spending cuts, or just under 6 percent of the $653.4 billion in increased debt the government already has incurred this fiscal year, which started on Oct. 1, 2010.

Pence's Stand: No Funding for Planned Parenthood or Obamacare

(CNSNews.com) - Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.) -- who rose to national prominence when he stood up against the leaders of his own party in opposing President George W. Bush's Medicare prescription drug plan - did not back down from his position that a continuing resolution to fund the government for the rest of this fiscal year must not only cut $61 billion from federal spending but must also defund Obamacare and Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood Did One Abortion Every 95 Seconds-As Many in One Year as Live In Cincinnati

(CNSNews.com) - Planned Parenthood performed 332,278 abortions in the United States in 2009, according to a fact sheet the group published last month. That is about as many as the 333,012 people who lived in the city of Cincinnati, Ohio, in 2009, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Rand Paul Would Consider Running for President If His Father Doesn't

(CNSNews.com) - The only firm commitment that Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) will make about the 2012 presidential race is that he won't challenge his father Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) for the GOP nomination. But if his father doesn't run, the son believes the tea party"needs to have a voice at the table."

Schumer: Senate Will 'Never, Never, Never' Defund Planned Parenthood

(CNSNews.com) - Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) vowed that the provision to defund Planned Parenthood that passed the House earlier this year is "never, never, never going to pass the Senate." Schumer made the remarks Thursday on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., at a "Stand Up for Women's Health" rally sponsored by the National Organization for Women, NARAL and Planned Parenthood.

COMMENTARY:

The Iranian Armageddon

By Alan Caruba
In the months and years leading up to the beginning of World War Two, all the parties knew full well Hitler's intention to start a war. History is repeating itself.  Iran's crazed ayatollahs intend to secure nuclear weapons capability and everyone knows that when they do, they will attack Israel. They have never ceased to call for its destruction. It is not a question of if, but when.

The deal to head off a government shutdown Friday night got done because a guy named Barry Jackson said it was done. Jackson is House Speaker John Boehner's chief of staff, and a force to be reckoned with.

THIS Friday, April 15, showing @ Warrington Crossing 22

The movie will open Friday April 15 and will be shown at
Warrington Crossing Stadium 22
140 Easton Road Bldg. F, Warrington, PA 18976
Here is what we are thinking about:

7:10PM - Watch the movie
9:30PM - Meet at The Moose in Doylestown (127 East State Street, Doylestown, PA) for an after-movie informal discussion. Bring some new friends along and we'll just have a laugh or ten (since that the agony of tax filing will be done - so do them now and come be with us!)

3. Climate Change and Renewable Energy

Thursday, April 28, The Moose, Doylestown, PA

The News Media bombards us daily with warnings about the dire consequences of climate change. Rising seas, hurricanes, droughts and floods are projected results of man-made global warming. Political leaders, academics, scientists, and the United Nations have placed mankind on a course to try to stop global warming.

But is all this really correct? Contrary to popular Consensus, Steve Goreham, Executive Director of the Climate Science Coalition of America and author of Climatism! Science, Common Sense, and the 21st Century's Hottest Topic, will argue that global warming is due to natural cycles of the Earth and not greenhouse gas emissions. Our Federal and State governments are pursuing policies that won't affect the climate but will have a major negative impact on

each American Citizen.

This Discussion is not to be missed! Please join us and you will learn what you can do to influence the debate with your elected officials!

We are still working out the details and inviting candidates, but this will be a great opportunity to meet patriots who have stood up to be counted - literally - and are looking to serve on local school boards, county row offices and municipal positions. We'll provide more information as we get closer to the date.

We look forward to seeing you all at each of these events.

George Soros Says The US Should Take On More Debt And Not Be Obsessed With Budget Cuts

Famed investor George Soros spoke to Bloomberg Television about the U.S. economy yesterday, specifically the debate over cuts versus government spending. Soros argues that the U.S. should take on more debt and spend it on infrastructure.

Below is a link of a must-watch video on why impeachment of Obama must begin.  After watching, read the Articles of Impeachment on the second link. Read them slowly and carefully.  If you agree, call your Congressman or woman and let them know you support impeachment.

http://www.politico.com/static/PPM186_articlesofimpeachment_040611.html

The moment has come.

Constitutional attorney Bruce Fein drafted Articles of Impeachment that are being circulated in the House of Representatives right now. Please read every line of these Articles of Impeachment. Very thorough research and many damning quotes build a very strong case.

The essential points of this constitutionally-mandated impeachment of Barry Soetoro, a/k/a Barack Hussein Obama, are as follows:

1) Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution states that only Congress can declare war on another country.

2) Obama declared war, and then is actually engaging in war, against Libya, (1) without Congressional approval or even consultation; (2) Libya has not declared war on the United States; and (3) Obama is following orders from the United Nations to engage in war, rather than Congress and the American people.

3) Obama consulted only with the Arab League and the United Nations before conducting and engaging war against Libya, not the U.S. Congress.

4) Obama has no authority under the Constitution, or even the War Powers Act, to declare and engage in war against another country.

5) The War Powers Act, even if constitutional (which many say is not) allows a president to engage in military actions against another country only if that country has attacked the United States, if that foreign country is an imminent threat to attack the United States, or if Congress has authorized the president to take military action. None of those three conditions are present. Obama and his adminstration admit that.

Instead, Obama's adminstration has stated that Libya is not a threat to the US and that the reason Obama has declared and conducted war against Libya is to ensure that the United Nations has "credibility."

(6) Barry Soetoro, a/k/a Obama, has committed "other high crimes and misdemeanors" and possibly treason and therefore must be impeached.

7) If Congress fails to act and impeach Obama then he has effectively annulled the Constitution and declared himself dictator.

Get educated and wake up.

Please carefully read these Articles of Impeachment in the link below. There is outstanding research and many damning quotes in these Articles of Impeachment.

Obama is testing how far he can go in ignoring the Constitution to usurp power and declare himself dictator.

Please forward this link to your federal Representative and Senators and to your state representatives.

It is only with strong voices and an outcry for action that justice can be done. There is no limit to the unconstitutional actions that Obama will take if Congress fails to act on this blatant disregard for the United States Constitution, United States law, and our representative system of checks and balances.

Morning Bell

Changing the Culture of Washington

This Congress was sent to Washington with a simple mandate from the American people: cut federal spending and get government under control. Friday night's budget compromise to avert a government shutdown embraced these principles, but also left plenty of work to be done. Congress has finally started cutting spending instead of running up the tab on future generations, and we hope the budget deal changed the culture of Washington. No longer should budgets be railroaded through Washington that increase spending and grow government. From here on out, the question should be: What can be cut?

American Constitutional Republic

or American Constitutional Republic, Limited, with Checks and Balances on Power,  under the Rule of Law based on Judaeo Christian Values.

Charles Krauthammer discussed the Great Debate  at Pennsylvania Leadership Conference, April 9, 2011.

Has the American Experiment Failed? Will we be able to keep a Constitutional Limited Representative Republic  based on Rule of Law and the protection of Individual Liberty? Will Americans choose the European Social Democratic Welfare State?

"I'll predict that, barring some dramatic event in the lead-up to election that makes Obama look like an idiot and his Republican opponent look like a genius, Obama will win re-election. I'll further predict that his re-election will not have coattails, and the Republicans will gain in the House and the Senate.  Americans in general are very worried about the deficit and the stability of the dollar. At the same time, 48% of the earning population pays no income taxes at all, and receive some sort of government aid. Half of those who work for a living work in jobs that are dependent on government money. Most of those working in jobs dependent on government money earn enough to pay income taxes. Combine those who pay no taxes (and are on some form of welfare) with those who work in government-supported jobs, and you have 75% of the population. Acting in their self-interest, enough of those will vote for Obama to re-elect him. Also acting in their self-interest, enough will vote for Republicans in House and Senate to keep some form of emergency brake on increases in Federal spending. Americans like a divided government." Utah AG Says U.S. Justice Department Won't Sue Utah

Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff continued to stir controversy last week when he announced the federal government would not sue the State to challenge the constitutionality of its new immigration laws. Shurtleff made the comments during an interview with a local Fox News affiliate in Salt Lake City. He told reporters: "I think I've convinced them [the U.S. Department of Justice] not to sue. They specifically asked, 'Are you saying you don't want us to sue you on this?' And I said, 'Yes, that's exactly what I'm asking. We don't want to be in litigation right now.'" Most immigration experts agree that two of Utah's new immigration laws, a guest worker amnesty measure (H.B. 116) and a law allowing the sponsoring of immigrants outside the federal system (H.B.469), would likely be found unconstitutional if challenged in court. Utah Governor Gary Herbert signed both into law March 15th.

The Patriot Post

Brief · April 11, 2011

The Foundation

"Very many and very meritorious were the worthy patriots who assisted in bringing back our government to its republican tack. To preserve it in that, will require unremitting vigilance." --Thomas Jefferson

Opinion in Brief

Democrat government spending

"One of the things that fascinate me about American politics is how the voices of the voters as registered in elections and polls are transformed into changes in public policy. It's a rough-and-ready process, with plenty of trial and error. But for all its imperfections, the political market seems to work. ... [One] development was House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan's unveiling of his budget resolution. Ryan did what President Obama's fiscal commission did in December but what Obama himself signally failed to do in his budget in February: address the long-term unsustainability of entitlements, specifically Medicare and Medicaid. Every serious analyst knows that these programs are on a trajectory to balloon government to a share of gross domestic product unprecedented except in World War II. The fiscal commission proposed both increased taxes and program changes that would cut spending. Ryan proposed such program changes plus other spending and tax cuts. The House seems sure to pass Ryan's budget, and Republican presidential candidates are likely to embrace similar proposals. This would not have happened -- and didn't happen during the Bush years -- but for public reaction to the Obama Democrats' policies." --political analyst Michael Barone

Political Futures

"Obama has been running for president since his first day in the Senate. All through his presidency, he has been running for re-election. His filing the other day was a mere formality. The problem with the chronic campaigner is that, though he is a swell candidate, he is a lousy chief executive. He cannot sit still, as in an office. My guess is that Obama has spent less time in the White House than his predecessor. Now he will be on the campaign trail full time. So maybe Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., will run the country. In unveiling his budget for 2012, he has shown that he is serious about facing the tremendous budget crunch ahead. Some conservatives are dismayed that his budget still would add $8 trillion of debt. It would not balance the budget for 20 years. That just emphasizes how deep a hole we are in! Ryan's plan is the most serious effort to reform government since ... well, since the chronic campaigner came along." --columnist R. Emmett Tyrrell

Re: The Left

"In 2010, three of the five top campaign contributors to the Democrats were public sector unions. Service Employees International was No. 2 at $11.6 million in campaign contributions to Democrats, the National Education Association was No. 3 at $8 million, and the American Federation of Teachers was No. 5 at $7 million. ... Liberals don't love big government because they think it's efficient, compassionate, fair or even remotely useful. They support big government because they are guaranteed the support of nearly everyone who works for the government. Public sector employee contracts are written by the union and rubber-stamped by Democrats -- and the taxpayers only find out years later that public school teachers are allowed to get a full year's pay for 30 days' work over three years after they retire -- as is the case in Green Bay, Wis., where one out of every 12 teachers retired this year to take advantage of the 'emeritus' scam. This is what all the commotion is about in Wisconsin. Republican Gov. Scott Walker isn't even trying to eliminate collective bargaining for government workers' salaries. He only wants to eliminate collective bargaining over their conditions of employment, which has led to massive inefficiencies." --columnist Ann Coulter

Insight

"You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot help small men by tearing down big men. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot lift the wage-earner by pulling down the wage-payer. You cannot help the poor man by destroying the rich. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot establish security on borrowed money. You cannot build character and courage by taking away men's initiative and independence. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves." --Presbyterian clergyman William Boetcker (1873-1962)

The Gipper

"I spoke in the State of the Union of a second American revolution, and now is the time to launch that revolution and see that it takes hold. If we move decisively, these years will not be just a passing era of good feeling, not just a few good years, but a true golden age of freedom. The moment is ours, and we must seize it. There's work to do. We must prolong and protect our growing prosperity so that it doesn't become just a passing phase, a natural adjustment between periods of recession. We must move further to provide incentives and make America the investment capital of the world." --Ronald Reagan

Government

"In finally deciding to try the 9/11 mastermind at Guantanamo Bay before a military commission, the president is personally acting out Winston Churchill's adage about America always doing the right thing after exhausting all the alternatives. In one of his first acts, President Obama signed an executive order to shutter Gitmo within a year of taking office. In late 2009, Attorney General Eric Holder followed up by announcing he'd try KSM [Khalid Sheikh Mohammed] in New York City. Ever since, it's been one reversal after another in a legal version of Napoleon's retreat from Moscow. ... Sen. Obama maintained that we 'compromised our most precious values' in setting up 'the detention cells of Guantanamo'; that Gitmo and the military commissions represent 'a legal framework that does not work'; and that Gitmo is a terrorist recruiting tool. It is to this ineffectual, terrorist-recruiting system that violates everything we hold dear that President Obama now looks for swift justice in the matter of KSM. One might think that this turnabout would cause Obama and Co. to reconsider their harsh denunciations of policies they have made their own. Judging by Holder's strangely combative press conference announcing the KSM decision, they'll never admit they were wrong, just stymied by a foolish Congress reflecting the backward views of Americans unenthusiastic about unnecessary, high-profile terror trials in their backyards." --National Review editor Rich Lowry

Liberty

"There is no question that Terry Jones [the Florida pastor who burned a Koran] is an opportunist. Yet what would one call those Muslims who both incite and commit violence at the slightest provocation? It is worth remembering that when Newsweek falsely reported a Koran being flushed down a toilet at Guantanamo Bay in 2005, 15 people were killed in rioting. Former Seattle Weekly cartoonist Molly Norris has been forced into hiding -- in the United States -- after she became the target of a death threat following her 'Everybody Draw Mohammed Day' satire for that newspaper. The most compelling argument against what Jones did can be reduced to the idea that you don't swat a hornet's nest. Yet it is precisely that kind of self-censorship which allows the hornets to continue stinging whenever they choose to do so. ... This is where the West's infatuation with political correctness has taken us. It is an ideological bankruptcy so profound, that we are reduced to a disturbing reality brought on by equal amounts of weak thinking, apologist inanity and reflexive appeasement: It takes a bigot to expose a death cult." --columnist Arnold Ahlert

For the Record

"Social Security doesn't belong to taxpayers, even those who have paid into the program their entire lives. It is not an entitlement: Congress can change the law at any time, cut benefits or abolish the program at will. If the law isn't changed, then when the trust fund runs out of IOUs, benefits will be cut across the board for everyone -- including people who have paid into the system their entire lives. Finally, the trust fund's IOUs can only be repaid if the federal government increases its borrowing or raises taxes. Taxpayers don't have a right to Social Security benefits. They just don't. The Supreme Court made this perfectly clear in its 1960 decision in Flemming v. Nestor, where it described Social Security as a 'noncontractual ... social welfare program.' In other words, yes, we pay into the program, but it's not an entitlement. We do not have a property right over the money we paid into the program. Now, how can we make people understand that entitlement programs are not an entitlement? How do we reach out to them?" --columnist Veronique de Rugy

Faith & Family

"[T]here are certain basic moral truths that all of us really know, even if we pretend to ourselves that we don't. ... [D]ifferent cultures disagree only about the details of morality, not about the basics. C. S. Lewis gave us a good example when he remarked that although some cultures say you can have four wives and some say you can have only one, up until very recently, every human culture has recognized the sacredness of marriage. ... Paul said in Romans 1 that we 'suppress' the truth because of our sins. But if the knowledge is really down there, then it can be dredged back up, no matter how deeply suppressed. ... Don't forget: People know more about right and wrong than they ever let on. And you can learn how to get past their denials in order to remind them of the moral truths that they can't not know." --author Chuck Colson

The Last Word

"Speaking of Obama, I am always torn when it comes to listening to one of his speeches. Although I know I'll get a few chuckles out of it, as when he explained that after three weeks of dithering, he had to dip America's toe into Libya without discussing it with Congress in order to avert 'a political massacre that would have stained the conscience of the world.' Where does he dream up this stuff? 'The conscience of the world?' I fell off my chair, laughing. If only he had gone into show business. He's a comic genius. I mean, imagine keeping a straight face while delivering that line. Still, he really should seek help with his delivery. I mean, maybe it's just me, but I find it really annoying when he pauses ... every few seconds ... when doling out ... his knee-slappers. By the time he gets to the punch line, it's easy to forget the set-up to his joke. To be fair, the Democrats in the audience don't seem to mind. Like parents at their kids' first violin recital, they're always convinced he's great. Every time he opens his yap, they think they're listening to a combination of the Gettysburg Address and the Sermon on the Mount. Of course, unlike the two fellows who gave those speeches, Obama doesn't write his own material. But that's how it is with liberals. When it comes to cutting their leaders some slack, you can't beat these slackers." --columnist Burt Prelutsky

What to Do With America's Nuclear Waste

Unnecessarily, in the United States we currently store spent nuclear fuel rods, in many instances, at power plants in above ground facilities just like the one in Japan now troubling the world, say H. Sterling Burnett, a senior fellow at the National Center for Policy Analysis, and Dave Stevenson, the director of the Center for Energy Competitiveness at the Caesar Rodney Institute in Dover, Delaware.

  • Indeed, there are currently about 71,000 metric tons of spent fuel and high level radioactive waste stored at 121 nuclear power plants and non-military government sites.
  • While this may seem like a lot, the entire 50 years worth of spent fuel could be stored in a space the size of one football field piled 41 feet high.
  • Waste grows at a rate of 2,000 metric tons a year.

Three storage options have existed for years: Yucca Mountain, Nevada; the Waste Isolation Pilot Plan (WIPP) near Carlsbad, New Mexico; and recycling spent fuel.  Unfortunately, politics has prevented us from availing ourselves of these options.

Donald Trump will be the Forty-fourth President of the United States

Apr 11, 2011 06:13 am | Coach Collins

By Kevin "Coach" Collins

Barack Hussein Obama is a fake and soon that will be an established fact. He was not born in Hawaii or any other part of the United States of America, nor was his father an American citizen. Both of these facts will disqualify him when they are proved. The trance he and his Party put America in is rapidly lifting and the nation's eyes and ears are opening to well grounded charges that Obama is a fraud.

Republican self identified TEA partier and proud "birther" Donald Trump, a man with the money and platform to deconstruct Obama's web of lies, has stepped forward to challenge the Obama scam. He has put into motion a chain of events that will destroy the Obama façade in short order. Trump is the quintessential TEA partier. He loves America just as it is, and will never curtsy before foreign leaders.

When Trump is finished with Obama he will turn his ... Continue Reading:Donald Trump will be the Forty-fourth President of the United States

Social Security is an entitlement!

THIS SENIOR CITIZEN NAILED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alan Simpson, Senator from Wyoming , Co-Chair of Obama's

deficit commission, calls senior citizens the Greediest Generation as he compared "Social Security" to a Milk Cow with 310 million teats. August, 2010.

Here's a response in a letter from a unknown fellow in Montana ...

I think he is a little ticked off!   He also tells it like it is !

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Hey Alan, let's get a few things straight..

1. As a career politician, you have been on the public

    dole for FIFTY YEARS.

2. I have been paying Social Security taxes for 48 YEARS (since I was 15 years old. I am now 63).

3. My Social Security payments, and those of millions of other Americans, were safely tucked away in an interest bearing account for decades until you political pukes decided to raid the account and give OUR money to a bunch

of zero ambition losers in return for votes, thus bankrupting the system and turning Social Security into a Ponzi scheme that would have made Bernie Madoff proud.

4. Recently, just like Lucy & Charlie Brown ,you and your ilk pulled the proverbial football away from millions of American seniors nearing retirement and moved the goalposts for full retirement from age 65 to age 67.

NOW, you and your shill commission is proposing to move the goalposts YET AGAIN.

5  I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying into Medicare from Day One,and now you morons propose to change the rules of the game. Why? Because you idiots mismanaged other parts of the economy to such an extent that you need to steal money from Medicare to pay

the bills.

6.  I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying income taxes our entire lives, and now you propose to increase our taxes yet again.

Why?

Because you incompetent bastards spent our money so profligately that you just kept on spending even after you ran out of money. Now, you come to the American taxpayers and say you need more to pay off YOUR debt.

To add insult to injury, you label us "greedy" for calling "bullshit" on your incompetence.

Well,Captain Bullshit, I have a few questions for

YOU.

1. How much money have you earned from the American taxpayers during your pathetic 50-year political career?

2. At what age did you retire from your pathetic political career, and how much are you receiving in annual

retirement benefits from the American taxpayers?

3. How much do you pay for YOUR government provided health insurance?

4.  What cuts in YOUR retirement and healthcare benefits are you proposing in your disgusting deficit reduction proposal,or, as usual, have you exempted yourself and your political cronies?

It is you, Captain Bullshit, and your political co-conspirators called Congress who are the "greedy" ones.

It is you and your fellow nutcases who have bankrupted America and stolen the American dream from millions of loyal, patriotic taxpayers.  And for what?  Votes.  That's

right, sir.  You and yours have bankrupted America   for the sole purpose of advancing your pathetic political careers.

You know it, we know it, and you know that we know it.

And you can take that to the bank, you miserable son of a bitch.

If you like the way things are in America , delete this.

If you agree with what a fellow Montana citizen says,

PASS IT ON!!!!

For cheap eats and drinks and a jukebox blasting Johnny Cash, look no further than this two-story Tribeca haunt. This bar's patriotic-frat house décor feels strangely appropriate. (We're talking light-up beer signs and bras hanging from the rafters next to American flags.) While you're getting down to some boot-knocking country music, you can order a pitcher of beer for the price of a Bud Light bottle at your standard NYC nightclub (No kidding!) Their $2 frozen margaritas, $3 Heinekens and $1.25 sliders are other wallet-happy specials.

The Patriot is a big space, but don't be fooled-it gets pretty crowded and rowdy, especially Thursday-Saturday.

Fine print of spending deal 'still under negotiation'

Planned Parenthood & NPR untouched

Washington is busy anointing winners and losers in the 11th hour spending deal struck late Friday to avert government shutdown, but meanwhile the staffs of the House and Senate appropriations committees are busy at work negotiating the fine print.

"The agreement was on overall funding levels and some of the more controversial policy riders," said Jennifer Hing, spokeswoman for House Appropriations Committee Chairman Hal Rogers, "the rest of the policy riders and funding levels for individual programs are still under negotiation."

Obama puts taxes on the table

Here comes the call to raise taxes

President Barack Obama will lay out his plan for reducing the nation's deficit Wednesday, belatedly entering a fight over the nation's long-term financial future. But in addition to suggesting cuts-the current focus of debate-the White House looks set to aim its firepower on a more divisive topic: taxes.

In a speech Wednesday, Mr. Obama will propose cuts to entitlement programs, including Medicare and Medicaid, and changes to Social Security, a discussion he has largely left to Democrats and Republicans in Congress. He also will call for tax increases for people making over $250,000 a year, a proposal contained in his 2012 budget, and changing parts of the tax code he thinks benefit the wealthy.

Tense meetings, stalled talks led to a 'painful' agreement on US budget

Boehner vs. Obama

President Barack Obama had finally reached his breaking point.

For more than an hour in an Oval Office meeting on April 7, House Speaker John Boehner had insisted that any compromise on the government's budget include a prohibition on federal funding for Planned Parenthood.

Obama already had reluctantly agreed to a provision banning the District of Columbia from spending funds on abortion services -- and that was as far as he would go.

The idea that the raspy troubadour of '60s freedom anthems would go to a dictatorship and not sing those anthems is a whole new kind of sellout - even worse than Beyoncé, Mariah and Usher collecting millions to croon to Qaddafi's family, or Elton John raking in a fortune to serenade gay-bashers at Rush Limbaugh's fourth wedding.

White House: Obama to lay out spending plan

Obama wants to provide for the nation's 'neediest'

President Barack Obama and Congress are shifting from short-term budget concerns to debates over the nation's long-term economic future, and everything - from Medicare and Medicaid cuts to tax hikes for the wealthy - is on the table.

Much will be revealed at midweek, when the House and Senate are expected to vote on a budget for the remainder of this fiscal year and Obama unveils his plan to reduce the deficit, in part by scaling back the government's chief health programs for seniors and the poor. The House, too, may vote on Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan's spending plan for next year as Democrats readied arguments that it proposed "Draconian" cuts to Americans who need help the most.

Campaign for Liberty

Although the House of Representatives is supposed to have 72 hours to review legislation, I have been informed by sources on the Hill that the weekend's "compromise" budget may not be available to congressional staff until almost midnight tonight.

With a House vote expected Wednesday, that's less than 48 hours to read (and debate) a critical bill that would keep America on its current disastrous course.

In other words, it's business as usual in Washington, D.C.

During a time where you and I face shouldering the burden for an over $14 trillion national debt (with almost another $2 trillion deficit this year alone), the weekend's so-called "historic" compromise was yet another move to dodge leadership.

In case you missed it, I hope you'll take a moment to read C4L's reaction to the White House's proposal below, which lays out several changes our elected officials would immediately implement if they were actually serious about ending America's debt crisis and securing a prosperous future.

Then, I hope you'll take two steps today to help Campaign for Liberty fight back against half measures and the leadership's lack of willpower to do what's right.

First, please
contact your representative and senators right away. Tell them to reject this latest attempt to kick the can down the road and to instead enact the bold solutions C4L is proud to champion to truly address our nation's challenges.

Next, please contribute $10, $25, $50, or whatever you can afford
to ensure Campaign for Liberty can keep fighting at full strength on all fronts.

Only your continued support allows us to take on an ever-expanding, increasingly reckless government that wants to control every aspect of our lives.

  Campaign for Liberty

Did you know you are single-handedly responsible for nearly shutting down the federal government?

Not a Congress, White House, Treasury, and Federal Reserve that have racked up more than $14 trillion in debt.

Not legislators whose policies will result in a $1.6 trillion budget deficit in this year alone.

Not the statists who want to force you to bow to their demands and fund their agenda with your tax dollars.

They're blaming you, me, and everyone else who thinks America has no choice but to slam on the brakes before we fly over the edge.

Unlike the federal government, let's be honest.  The kind of debate we have witnessed over the past several months has almost nothing to do with what over half a million Campaign for Liberty members have joined our organization to accomplish.

While we want government on all levels reduced and its spending drastically curbed, the White House and congressional leadership have agreed to less than $40 billion in cuts this year.

That's not even a pinprick on the colossal monster their reckless mismanagement has unleashed.

Despite the establishment's fear mongering, if the government had "shut down," the Treasury Department would have continued to sell debt, the printing presses would have rolled on, the IRS would still have confiscated your hard-earned money on time (though getting any back may have been delayed), the surveillance state would have kept watching you, and the TSA would have remained in airports nationwide to sexually assault fliers.

If our "leaders" were serious, they would:

 -   Thoroughly audit the Federal Reserve and end Ben Bernanke's ability to control our economic future with no real accountability or oversight.  Then they would abolish the Fed entirely.

 -   Debate and vote on Rand Paul's proposal to cut $500 billion from the budget.  This year.  And that would only be for starters.

 -   Enact a Balanced Budget Constitutional Amendment with legitimate spending restrictions.

 -   Free us to make our own health care decisions by halting the implementation of a program to force Americans to buy bureaucrat-approved insurance and give the government more control over what remains of the free market.

 -   Strengthen our national security by refusing to use our military to police the world, nation-build, and enforce the United Nations' dictates.

 -   Protect civil liberties by repealing the Patriot Act, eliminating the TSA, and ending the many other ways government intrudes into our lives.

The list of what is not being addressed could go on and on, which further proves how the vast majority of both Republicans and Democrats are ignoring their oaths to defend the Constitution.

Government doesn't need a tune-up.  It's time for a complete overhaul, which is why a real shutdown is needed.

Instead, America is in for more posturing for the cameras, blame-shifting, and name calling - traits more expected of spoiled brats than elected officials.

America's debt crisis is a natural consequence of a system so wrecked by statism that less than $40 billion in cuts to a multi-trillion dollar budget nearly brings the government to its knees.

Out of control legislators and their dangerous policies brought us to this point, and I won't accept their blame for fighting to prevent them from further destroying our country.

I will, however, promise them that Campaign for Liberty will never stop working for freedom and a federal government that acts only within the confines of the Constitution.

I hope you will take advantage of these current events to discuss the role of government on the local, state, and federal levels and spread our message to family, friends, and neighbors who are constantly bombarded by the establishment's tired rhetoric.

Invite them to join Campaign for Liberty and help us take back our lives from the government's control.

Only in the principles of liberty can our nation find effective, lasting solutions to its challenges and secure a bright future for ourselves and future generations.

In Liberty,

John Tate
President

Excerpts from Penn State Administration Complicit in Funding Gap  by Pennsylvania Budget Secretary Charles Zogby April 9. 2011 The Daily Collegian of Penn State make the case"

"...

On that last one, I can only offer the facts.

The principal fact is a number: $4.2 billion. That is the budget deficit the Corbett Administration was handed the day we took office.

You see, the previous administration spent eight years increasing spending by 37 percent though revenues only grew by 25 percent. The spending continued even after the recession hit in 2008 and revenues fell by more than $3 billion. The end result was the use of $2.65 billion in federal stimulus funds, $750 million in one-time revenues, and $665 million in budget gimmicks - a total of $4.1 billion - to create a huge funding cliff for the new governor now that all those funds have gone away.

It was the previous governor and the continued pattern of irresponsible spending that brought us to this moment.

The question Gov. Corbett had to face wasn't whether to cut. It had to be done. The question was what to cut.

We first had to look at the things we are legally bound to finance. That includes social services programs for our most needy, public safety, public health and basic education from kindergarten through high school. The universities presented a special dilemma for us.

Having worked my way through college and law school, and as a dad with a son in college and two more on the way, I know the costs of staying in school. But what is shocking is that, even as revenue was falling, and as recession visited the homes of students at Penn State, the university insisted on behaving as if there was no recession at all.

Over the past 10 years, the Consumer Price Index, which measures the rising cost of goods due to inflation, went up 23 percent.

At the same time, tuition at Penn State soared by 110 percent. That's more than four times the rate of inflation. Similarly, the average salary of a full professor at the school went up 38 percent. According to the annual survey of the American Association of University Professors, a full professor at Penn State earns an average of $130,000.

No one begrudges your professors a good salary. Nor do they begrudge your school's president his more than $600,000 in annual compensation, nor his house, car and club membership.

But in good conscience we simply can't ask taxpayers who are still climbing their way out of a hard recession to underwrite this kind of spending with money we don't have.

Students from around the state visited the Capitol on March 28 and stood in the cold to protest these budget cuts. They expressed fears that your school's president would make good on his threat to raise tuition.

The problem with their approach is twofold.

First, it fails to take into account, or to even question, the pattern of spending that led to this moment. Penn State's leadership doesn't open its books for a hard look; and its president testified several years ago against including the school in the state's Right-to-Know law. Without openness, it's rather hard to know just what you're objecting to.

Second, tuition increases appear to be unconnected to state funding. For the past decade, the state has delivered $3.5 billion in uninterrupted subsidies. Still, the school's leaders have continued to raise tuition. In 2009 the CPI actually fell by .34 percent and state subsidy rose by $27 million. Nevertheless, Penn State's tuition jumped 5.8 percent.

The goal of state subsidy for your school has been to hold down tuition. It hasn't worked. You need to ask your administration if they're trying.

The governor has worked hard to explain the reasoning behind these funding cuts - the $4.2 billion deficit, the competing demands for fewer tax dollars and the futility of channeling money into a tuition control effort that simply refuses to work.

It's time for the administration there to open the books to the students and explain what they're doing and why it costs so much.

Make them cringe and writhe with lines like: "I think the President's speech yesterday was the reason we Americans elected him. It was grand. It was positive. Hopeful... But what I liked about the President's speech in Cairo was that it showed a complete humility... The question now is whether the President we elected and spoke for us so grandly yesterday can carry out the great vision he gave us and to the world"; and "He's going to bring all different sides together... Obama is trying to sort of temper everything down. He doesn't even use the word terror. He uses extremism. It's all about let us reason together... He's the teacher. He's going to say, 'Now, children, stop fighting and quarreling with each other.' And he has a kind of moral authority that he-he can-he can do that."

Lib logic: Regulations needed to keep internet free

George Soros hosted a conference this weekend and it was attended by pretty much everyone who has ever landed on a Glenn Beck chalkboard. The billionaire, politicians and other prominent activists plotted to restructure the globe, reform the media and 'free' the internet. The over the top moment came from Congressman Ed Markey - the 'brains' behind the Cap & Trade bill - who claimed the GOP wants to 'destroy the whole wide world'. And Glenn is the fear monger? Watch the comments and Glenn's reaction HERE.

Glenn talks about his future with Bill O'Reilly

The media and the Sorosphere (blogs run by Soros) have a delusional belief that Glenn's influence has somehow been diminished. Glenn responded to the ridiculous media reports in epic fashion (watch the classic takedowns HERE) -- and he spoke more about what his plans are for the future with Bill O'Reilly. Watch that interview HERE.

Communists protest at Glenn's comedy show

Glenn is smack in the middle of his latest tour - the show is a comedy show that Glenn likes to call the 'elegant eliminations' tour and it's off to a tremendous start. But not everyone is happy - Communists showed up in North Carolina to protest Glenn's arrival. Commies generally aren't happy people, as evidenced by the tens of millions communists have killed throughout history, but they tried to liven this protest up with some catchy chants. All that did was further cement Communism's place in history as an EPIC FAILURE - get the full story HERE.  Find out if Glenn is coming to your city HERE and check out exclusive photos and videos from the road HERE.

Media Matters embarrasses themselves yet again re: Beck

For an organization that George Soros pays a LOT of money to (and 86 people) just to post a couple of blogs each day about 1 guy (and much of the time it's far less than a blog - they just post clips of Glenn with no commentary. Hey, isn't that stealing?) you'd think they'd have the basic facts down. Glenn has the audio of a MMFA dolt completely botching his Beck history, and proving MMFA's attempts to 'build talent' are off to a dreadful start. Get the full story at GlennBeck.com.

Who is Glenn's 2012 fav?

Glenn & Co go over a few of the 2012 possibilities for conservatives, which should be optimistic given the latest polls show less than 20% 'strongly approve' of Obama. But Obama has the approval of the most important constituency: the media. As long as they love him, it's an uphill battle for any opponent. Who does Glenn like? Find out on radio today.

Jesus statue burned to the ground in Minnesota

A man who was once persecuted in his native country just for being a Christian had his precious monument to Jesus burned down recently. Not surprisingly, the media is not exactly outraged (read: silent) about this one. But when someone draws a cartoon about Mohammed? Muslims are being discriminated against! Get the full story at The Blaze.
