Founding FathersQuote:

A general dissolution of principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy. While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but when once they lose their virtue then will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader.

Dear Patriot,

Our nation has also evolved a great deal over our short time of 235 years.  Here at the Thomas Jefferson Club, a portion of our mission statement reads...

"WE BELIEVE the United States is a highly successful Republic because of the Western Culture and Values upon which our nation was founded."

A culture drives a nation.  And every nation has a right to national self-determination.  The United States is no different.  So the subject for our next meeting, Wednesday, April 6th, is...

                "Which Way Western Man?"

To discuss this subject we have two excellent presenters who will address this question with facts, figures and solutions.

First up we will host Peter Brimelow, author of the national best-seller, "Alien Nation: Common Sense About America's Immigration Disaster" and Editor of VDare.com.  Our second speaker will be Louis March, author of, "Immigration and the End of Self Government" and Chairman of the Representative Government Education Foundation.  Mr. March is a former senior staffer of Senator Jesse Helms.

Please join us Wednesday, April 6th, 7pm at The Temperance House in Newtown.

**PLEASE NOTE OUR CHANGE OF VENUE DUE TO WASHINGTON XING INN'S RENOVATIONS**

The Temperance House is located at 5 South State Street in Newtown, Bucks County.

I look forward to seeing you on April 6th in Newtown!

All the best,

Jeff McGeary

President, Thomas Jefferson Club

President Obama To Speak Tonight

President Barack Obama will address the nation tonight from the National Defense University in Washington to explain his rationale for the "kinetic military action" in Libya. It will be interesting to hear him make the case now, more than a week after the missiles started flying. Back in 2007, then Candidate Obama insisted that the American people had a right to know "how we're going to shift our foreign policy."

On Meet the Press yesterday, David Gregory asked Secretary of Defense Robert Gates if Libya was in our "vital interest as a country." Gates responded: "No. I don't think it's a vital interest for the United States." At that point, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton jumped in and explained that we attacked Libya to appease France! Clinton said: "When it comes to Libya, we started hearing from the U.K., France, Italy, other of our NATO allies. This was in their vital national interest."

And where is Joe Biden? Remember, Vice President Biden was supposed to be Obama's "Cheney" -- the one who brought foreign policy gravitas to the Oval Office to make up for Obama's lack of experience. Why isn't Biden making the case for the war in Libya? Some pundits are speculating that Biden agrees with Gates and disagrees with Obama.

Presumably when he speaks tonight the president will defend the war as a humanitarian mission. But that begs the question, what are the standards for intervening? Why are we not bombing the Islamic regime that is slaughtering Christians and Muslims in Sudan or other thugs and tyrants in Africa and the Middle East? As Ted Koppel said on Meet The Press Sunday, "The question hasn't yet been answered as to why it is that Libya, of all the countries in that region, has won the humanitarian defense sweepstakes of 2011."

But one thing I'm sure we won't hear Obama talk about tonight is the identity of the "rebels" we are supporting. According to a report in the British media, a key rebel leader is Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi. Hasidi left Libya to fight against "the foreign invasion" of Afghanistan in 2002. In other words, he left his homeland and joined Al Qaeda to wage jihad against U.S. forces. He later recruited other jihadists to fight against us in Iraq. Hasidi said that some of those Al Qaeda terrorists "today are on the front lines in Ajdabiya (Libya)."

The president of Chad, on Libya's southern border, is warning that Al Qaeda forces in Libya have pillaged Libyan military arsenals and seized major weapons, including surface-to-air missiles. And while Obama makes the case tonight for this intervention as a "humanitarian mission," Al Qaeda is promising to impose its version of Islam on the country once Qadhafi is gone. If that happens, all we will have accomplished is a tremendous humanitarian disaster, while helping the Islamists achieve their goal of a Middle East caliphate.

Media Matters Declares War On Fox

The George Soros funded outfit Media Matters has declared war on Fox News. Politico reported over the weekend that the left-wing group was changing its focus from "traditional media critic" to a new campaign of "guerrilla warfare and sabotage," according to Media Matters founder David Brock. Soros and Brock want to take down Fox because they view it as the "de facto leader of the GOP" and the "nerve center" of the conservative movement.

The Politico report should outrage anyone who believes in open debate. Media Matters is now digging for dirt "not only on Fox's top executives but on a series of midlevel officials." It has also retained a legal team to promote lawsuits by disgruntled employees and plans to harass advertisers on not just Glenn Beck's show but the entire network!

They have hired top operatives from MoveOn.org to organize shareholder campaigns aimed at disrupting Rupert Murdoch's other commercial interests worldwide. And, according to Politico, Media Matters is "looking for ways to turn regulators [government bureaucrats] in the U.S., U.K., and elsewhere against the network."

These people are political animals, who view everything through a warped ideological perspective. Now they are bringing the slash-and-burn politics of personal destruction -- just what they did to Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann and other prominent conservative leaders -- to bear against unknown staffers at a news agency. There is some thought that the Media Matters effort could even be illegal.

Progressives claim "tolerance" is one of their cherished values. But the opposite is often true. Media Matters' "war" on Fox News demonstrates the left's intolerance and its impulse to silence dissent when it starts losing a debate. For decades conservatives have put up with media bias at ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, MSNBC, etc. Yet when one news network doesn't toe the liberal line, the left goes into fits of rage and spares no expense to shut it down.

Fighting For Our Values

As members of Congress return to Washington this week, a top priority will be funding the government for the remainder of the fiscal year. The current continuing resolution runs out April 8th. It is time for our elected representatives to get serious about the budget and to set priorities for how your hard-earned tax dollars are spent.

I'm pleased to report that my non-profit organization, American Values, has teamed up with the Susan B. Anthony List and Catholic Advocate to run a TV ad in Washington, D.C., exposing Planned Parenthood's obsession with abortion. The ad features Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood clinic director, who was pressured to perform more abortions at her clinic. You can view the ad here.

We are also fighting other important battles, including efforts to redefine marriage. Please don't forget to tune in to Dr. Dobson's Family Talk radio show today and tomorrow. I am a guest on the show along with my good friends Tony Perkins, Dr. Ken Hutcherson, Pastor Jim Garlow and Bishop Harry Jackson.

You can find station listings for Family Talk in your area here. Click this link to listen online.

Winning Muslim Hearts And Minds At DOJ

For a President who lectures his fellow citizens on the importance of math and science education, Barack Obama's defense of a math teacher who abandoned her students to take a vacation seems inexplicable. But as I write in my Human Events column today, the more one learns about the case of Safoorah Khan, the clearer it becomes that, under Obama, the scales of justice may have been tipped in favor of the Muslim community. You can read my column at www.humanevents.com.

Creating Palestine on the slit throat of a 3-month-old Jewish baby?

As I write this, I look at the faces of three Jewish children - Yoav, 11, Elad 4, and Hadas (barely 3 months old) murdered in their sleep, along with their parents, Udi and Ruth Vogel, in their home in Itamar on Israel's West Bank. (New York Times and One Family.org, March 12).

Judge's sharia law ruling makes the Drudge Report

Last chance for you to sign our Citizen Appeal to Congress!

On March 18th, we broke the story of a Florida judge who ruled that Islamic law must be followed in a dispute between current and former trustees of a mosque. This in spite of the fact that the current mosque trustees do not want to be compelled to follow sharia law.

A few days later the St. Petersburg Times picked up the story (see below), and then the Drudge Report, which gets 22 million hits a day, carried the story on its front page!

Members of Congress keep their fingers on the pulse of America, and they know that America is waking up to the threat of sharia law. One of the planks in our ten-point appeal to Congress specifically deals with the issue of sharia law.

If you haven't yet signed this Citizen Appeal, please sign today, because now is your last chance to do so. This week we will close out this appeal and deliver the results to congressional leaders.

Please don't think for a minute your voice doesn't matter-it does!

Judge orders use of Islamic law in Tampa lawsuit over mosque leadership

By William R. Levesque, Times Staff Writer
Tuesday, March 22, 2011

TAMPA - The question of what law applies in any Florida courtroom usually comes down to two choices: federal or state.

But Hillsborough Circuit Judge Richard Nielsen is being attacked by conservative bloggers after he ruled in a lawsuit March 3 that, to resolve one crucial issue in the case, he will consult a different source.

"This case," the judge wrote, "will proceed under Ecclesiastical Islamic Law."

The Coming, and Why the Left Doesn't Understand Iran

March 27, 2011
"Greetings to Mahdi, the one who all beings on Earth and In Heaven love without end."

About two weeks ago, when Reza Khalili first emailed me a video of the new Iranian-produced documentary - The Coming Is Near - I knew I was witnessing something extraordinary. (Reza was preparing a translation at the time, which is available as of today on PJ Media.)

The message of the short film was clear: The current crisis in the Middle East (Egypt, Bahrain, Libya, now Syria... all of it) is a harbinger that the Mahdi (the hidden one, the Twelfth Imam) was coming soon and that, in the ensuing chaos and destruction, Khomeini's version of Shia Islam would shortly rule over the entire globe.

It's Official: The Obama Administration Will Do Zero to Criticize or Undermine the Syrian Dictatorship

By Barry Rubin

It's official. The Obama Administration won't do anything at all to help the Syrian people against the Bashar al-Asad dictatorship. Libya's Muammar Qadhafi is a bad dictator, but Bashar al-Asad is a good dictator?

The great Martin Kramer puts it perfectly:

"Earlier I noted that the Arab League gave Asad a license to kill because Syria is "occupied." Now Clinton and Kerry have given him one because he's a "reformer." Asad hasn't carried out any reforms, still supports terror, has stockpiles of WMD, and even tried to build a secret nuke facility. But unlike Qaddafi, he cleans up nicely and his wife is chic. Asad gets a pass; Asads always do."

 ISRAPUNDIT

By Ted Belman

When I was growing up in Canada in the fifties, I knew that there were certain subdivisions or neighborhoods where Jews couldn't buy houses.  I am sure the same went for the US.

Fortunately that is no longer the case.

When PM Menachim Begin was in conference with Pres Jimmy Carter, Carter pressed him not to build the settlements. Begin responded that there were many cities and towns in the US named after biblical places in Judea and Samaria, like Bethlehem and Shilo. He said to Carter that he, Carter, would never prevent Jews from living in such American cities and yet he was asking Begin to prevent Jews from living in the towns they were named after in the Jewish homeland..

Currently the PA is demanding that Palestine be Judenrein.  This would involve the deportation of Jews from their communities in Judea and Samaria. Unfortunately the whole world, lead by the US, is supporting its demands.

Worse still, most Jewish Americans support this.

I find this to be outrageous. So I asked Matthew Hausman, a US attorney to write a major article shinning light on this major injustice and gross act of discrimation.

I invite you to read The West supports a Judenrein Palestine

RedState

RedState Morning Briefing

For March 29, 2011

1. Obama's Not Just Bombing Libya: The Main Course Speech That Felt More Like an Appetizer

You might have heard that President Obama (finally) gave a speech about the shelling of Libya he ordered well over a week ago. Or, you might not have; he's been trying pretty hard to keep our involvement in it out of the public eye, despite the US having the leading role in every phase of this "kinetic military action" except (1) decision-making, and (2) actually talking publicly about what the heck it is that we're doing there.

The speech can be boiled down into five basic phrases, four of which carry qualifiers:

(1) It's the U.S.'s role to intervene anywhere that there are atrocities or persecution going on, unless there's a vital national interest there and/or they have the ability to shoot back at us in any meaningful form whatsoever;

(2) Our goal is not to depose Qaddafi, whatever I may have said yesterday, last week, etc., except when it is our goal, which is whenever it isn't not our goal to do so;

(3) This will not be like the Iraq kinetic military action, because that one wasn't referred to by such a clever, lawyerly phrase, and because that "regime change...took 8 years" [Note: This supposed history savant is only off by about 7 years and 11 months on that figure], except that regime change isn't our goal (see #2 above);

(4) The U.S. will prevail in Libya, except that we won't be the ones doing it - NATO will - and, to ensure that this is true, we're going to refrain from consistently communicating any goals whatsoever for our mission there, even as we send pilots (and, not at all unlikely, specialized ground forces) into harm's way in pursuit of some nebulous objective which, again, we're not going to bother telling you about; and,

(5) To quote Jim Geraghty, "Look, I realize none of you understand my decision making, but at the end of the day, you can rest easy knowing I'm right."

2. Regime Change for Sissies

Now let me be clear?-?I suffer no illusions about Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal man. A ruthless man. A man who butchers his own people to secure his own power. He has repeatedly defied UN resolutions, thwarted UN inspection teams, developed chemical and biological weapons, and coveted nuclear capacity.

He's a bad guy. The world, and the Iraqi people, would be better off without him.

But I also know that Saddam poses no imminent and direct threat to the United States. . . .

Barack Obama in 2002.

This was perhaps the most vapid and shallow Presidential speech on a military engagement since . . . well . . . I don't know when.

The President said we were against regime change in Libya, but made clear that regime change is the goal. He wants to be engaged without being engaged. He says we are passing the whole operation off to NATO as if we'll suddenly become only involved in an ancillary capacity. This left Ambassador John Bolton to exclaim on Fox News that Barack Obama may be the only man in the whole world who does not know that we, the United States, run NATO.

The President failed in any way, shape, or form to show how our national interests are at stake. Likewise, in his explanation of why we are in LIbya, the explanation fits Yemen, Syria, and Iran.

As Joe Scarborough asked on twitter, are Libyan lives more valuable than those of Syria, Yemen, or Iran?

3. The Stupid Party Prepares to Get Down Right Dumb

While we've all been focused on the Administration's schizophrenia over Libya, there is another political battle being fought in the halls of Congress over the budget.

The starting point for this is this report from Emily Miller at Human Events. The key take away is that "the Senate Republicans are preparing to tell President Obama that they want a Balanced Budget Amendment (BBA) to the Constitution passed in Congress in exchange for raising the statuary debt ceiling above $14.2 trillion."

We can now turn to my friend Dan Mitchell who explains exactly how stupid this GOP strategy is. The GOP, in exchange for increasing the debt ceiling, is not saying "give us the BBA or no debt ceiling increase." The GOP is instead saying "give us a vote on it."

Well, as Dan further points out, the GOP already got a vote on the BBA on March 2nd and it failed. So, the GOP is saying, "Let us lose another vote on the BBA in exchange for a debt ceiling increase or else." Or else what?

This is stupid for a variety of reasons.

4. More Libya Muddling from the White House (and from President Obama)

The "handover to NATO" bit that Obama has been promising for the last week hasn't completely happened yet (though in fairness, it hasn't just been NATO; they're just the only ones who've actually agreed to hold a portion of this hot potato that Obama has been trying like crazy to pass off ever since the American T-LAMs started flying from the Med into Libya), as American aircraft flew well over half of this past weekend's sorties against Qaddafi's military and air defense installations.

Further, contra what General Ham said a week ago today (which I'm sure was the best translation he could accomplish of the ridiculously mixed signals coming out of the nation's center of power at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, as well as from President Obama), not only is the US not backing off its operational tempo over Libya, but, according to reports, including this one from the AP, those weekend sorties included offensive missions flown by A-10s and AC-130s.

5. The Left Riots Because It Works Like Perdition

Leftists riot against austerity budgets for the same reasons Radical Islamists attempt terrorist attacks against American targets. They both lost any semblance of rational argument against the conditions they face in the modern world. Furthermore, the Greek Austerity riots, like the 9-11 Attacks, worked like Perdition. When in doubt, you call the last play that scored you a touchdown.

6. California Moving to Strip Secret Ballots from Farm Workers, Fine Employers

With the hallucinogenically-named Employee Free Choice Act "basically dead" for now, union bosses are still finding ways to try to fill their coffers with new members any way they can. At the state level, since agricultural workers are excluded from the National Labor Relations Act, the United Farm Workers is using the farm worker exemption to its advantage-and counting on newly-elected Democrat Governor Jerry Brown to help it.

On Sunday, while small marches took place around California commemorating Cesar Chavez Day, the United Farm Workers (the union that the late Cesar Chavez co-founded and led) issued a press release announcing their ongoing push for California SB 104, the "Fair Treatment for Farm Workers Act."

7. No More Extensions of Unemployment Benefits

Amidst record long-term unemployment, Democrats are trying to extend unemployment welfare yet again. Will Republicans continue to obediently follow them in accelerating more creeping socialism? Or will last December serve as the Republicans' final act to perpetuate unemployment welfare?

Beware the doomsday TARP coalition of Republicans. Conservatives must be ever vigilant of those Republicans who are willing to vote for an entitlement program one last time with the alleged purpose of precluding an economic apocalypse.

The new Penn State pay freeze announced Friday (March 25, 2011)  will save about $311 million in the university's general funds, university spokeswoman Lisa Powers reported Friday afternoon.

penn state

The Penn State web site is very informative and clearly simple to navigate.

Here is a list of  Penn State 41, 144 Full and Part Time employees of the $4 Billion (to be exact The Pennsylvania State University 2010-11 Operating Budget   $4,016,443,000 ) Dollar Private Profitable Nonprofit Penn State. The Forgotten Taxpayer's Forced Payment is proposed by the Governor for 2011-12 is expected to  be $165.1 Million (over and above student tuition indirect subsidies ) or 3.8% of Penn State's total budget. If Penn State could find 4.1 % savings, then The Forgotten Taxpayer would be free. And perhaps other state funded private universities could follow that model.

It is unclear why The Forgotten Taxpayer is paying $4.3 BILLION DOLLAR BIG BUSINESS anything, particularly, when The Forgotten Taxpayer is subsidizing Student Loans for Inflated Tuition1 (8 minutes Neil McCluskey CATO Education Freedom).

For some comparison Mean and Median Salaries of Full-Time Employees As of September 30, 2009  This is for a nine month year. The hourly rate is not calculated.

1 Taken together, the new pay freeze and the one imposed in the 2009-2010 budget year will have saved the university roughly $61 million by July 2012, Powers noted. She confirmed the new freeze will last one year. Penn State will revisit the issue when it considers the university budget for 2012-2013, Powers added. She also confirmed that employees covered under already-negotiated collective-bargaining agreements, as well as those with other contractually mandated pay increases, will not be affected by the freeze.

2  As Commonwealth Foundation's  Elizabeth Stelle has pointed out, Penn State has been hiring administrators like nobody's business.  According to a report by the Goldwater Institute, the university's administrative staff per 100 students grew by 71 percent between 1993 and 2007.  That number happens to be 9 points higher than the number of Penn State students who earn a degree in four years (62 percent).  Penn State's own statement on the cuts even says that the university has 96,000 students and 47,000 faculty and staff, one employee for about every two students.  Does that sound to you like an institution that has no fat to trim before raising tuition?

Big Business of Education Part 3; Harvard, Degree v. Licensed Plumber  You Can Make More as a Plumber  Big Business of Higher Education Misrepresents Its Economic Benefit

Harvard ? You Can Make More as a Plumber (TaxProf blog)

Harvard and a 4-Year Degree, You Can Make More as a Plumber in the Long Run, Says Prof. Kotlikoff:

                          harvard  or Licensed Plumber    plumber

A new study from Princeton University [Estimating the Return to College Selectivity over the Career Using Administrative Earning Data] shows that expensive college degrees are not necessarily worth the lofty price tags in the long run when you take into account one's natural ability. Laurence Kotlikoff, professor of economics at Boston University agrees that an expensive education just isn't worth it. ...

He has found that more often than not, people can have a better lifetime standard of living by choosing NOT to get an advanced degree. And, he says that people can be better off financially by not obtaining an undergraduate degree at all.

Professor Kotlikoff makes his case by comparing the livelihoods of plumbers and doctors.  Yes, doctors have a bigger salary.  But, doctors have to endure nearly a decade of expensive education before making any real salary, after which the doctor is hit by a very high progressive tax rate.  Because of all the costs the doctor incurs, the taxes and the lost wages, he says, "plumbers make more, and have almost the same spending power over their lifetime as general practitioners."

Wade Rathke's Startling Admission: 'Economic Terrorism' Engineer Stephen Lerner Is Still on SEIU Payroll

On Sunday morning, The Blaze posted a story about the "return" of ACORN on the world-wide scene.  While reading through some of the background material on that story, I noticed something significant.

ACORN founder Wade Rathke has been busy mocking the story that broke on The Blaze earlier this week about a multi-front plot to target JP Morgan Chase in an attempt to crash the stock market.  We'll look at his criticisms in a second.  No need to bury the lede here. Rathke seems to answer the question we've been asking all week - does bank plotter Stephen Lerner still work for SEIU?  Rathke says Lerner is still very much on the SEIU payroll:

Lerner has not been "fired" by SEIU as they report.  He was placed on paid leave last fall to think through his contribution to the union, but was certainly present at the recent international executive board meeting.

This is important for several reasons - not the least of which is that this ties the plot to destroy the American economy much more closely within the ranks of the organization that time and time again President Obama has declared to be most important to him strategically and politically.

Grassfire Nation Update
If You Signed Up to Send an Obamacare Waiver

The Message below is for you...

If You have Not Click Here Now to Demand Your Waiver from ObamaCare!

http://www.grassfire.com/148/petition.asp?ref_id=500064

Dear Patriot,

Delivery of Grassfire Nation's symbolic waiver request to
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius
demanding exclusion from ObamaCare has been underway for
several days, and we are thrilled to report that more than
73,000 grassroots Americans took action -- sending a clear
message about their personal feelings of ObamaCare!

And there's more...

A late-hour crush of citizens filling out their personal
waivers made it necessary to extend our delivery into Monday.

Patriot, grassroots Americans are burying Sebelius beneath
a sea of blue ObamaCare waivers. Every waiver carries the
message that ObamaCare is "an unconstitutional infringement"
on our rights; and will cause "personal economic hardship"
for American families and employers.

+ + The time is NOW to drive that message home!

When the delivery to Sebelius' office is complete then what?

Do we all obediently sit quiet waiting for ObamaCare to be
implemented?

No. As liberty-loving Americans we must continue working to
overthrow Obama's socialist takeover of our healthcare by
petitioning our lawmakers to become champions in efforts to
defund ObamaCare!

This is the next step...

With another Continuing Resolution bill just around the
corner, the time is now for grassroots Americans to rise up
and demand their lawmakers refuse to fund ObamaCare.

Do your lawmakers know exactly how
you feel about the implementation and funding of ObamaCare?

They need to know -- especially now and especially from you!

With a simple click, Grassfire Nation will send your PERSONAL
OBAMACARE WAIVER directly to your two Senators
and Representative as well as key leaders in the defunding debate.

Click here to schedule your WAIVER for delivery to your

lawmakers now:

www.grassfire.com/1148/offer.asp?ref_id=500128

Every new Continuing Resolution brings us closer to an

ObamaCare reality. That's why it's vital for Americans to

tell their lawmakers how they feel about ObamaCare and its

oppressive nature NOW.

Don't delay. Grassfire Nation will begin delivering the second

phase of our "Get out of ObamaCare" initiative beginning Thursday,

and we'd want to make certain your lawmaker's offices are included!

Click here to schedule WAIVER deliveries to your two Senators

and Representative:

www.grassfire.com/1148/offer.asp?ref_id=500128

We need to impress on EVERY lawmaker on Capitol Hill that we

won't tolerate our tax-dollars being used to fund a colossal,

socialist, power-grab -- one that could bring our nation to it's

knees financially.

Thank you for taking action with us!

Brief · March 28, 2011

The Foundation

"When right, I shall often be thought wrong by those whose positions will not command a view of the whole ground." --Thomas Jefferson

For the Record

Some call this economic opportunity

"Economic lunacy abounds, and often the most learned, including Nobel Laureates, are its primary victims. The most recent example of economic lunacy is found in a Huffington Post article titled 'The Silver Lining of Japan's Quake' written by Nathan Gardels, editor of New Perspectives Quarterly.... Mr. Gardels says, 'No one ... would minimize the grief, suffering and disruption caused by Japan's massive earthquake and tsunami. But if one can look past the devastation, there is a silver lining. The need to rebuild a large swath of Japan will create huge opportunities for domestic economic growth, particularly in energy-efficient technologies, while also stimulating global demand and hastening the integration of East Asia. ... By taking Japan's mature economy down a notch, Mother Nature has accomplished what fiscal policy and the central bank could not.' ... It's not just disasters in Japan. After Florida's devastating 2004 hurricane, newspapers carried headlines such as 'Storms create lucrative times.' and 'Economic growth from hurricanes could outweigh costs.' ... Why might Japan's and Florida's devastation be seen as 'pluses'? French economist Frederic Bastiat (1801-1850) explained it in his pamphlet 'What is Seen and What is Not Seen,' saying, 'There is only one difference between a bad economist and a good one: the bad economist confines himself to the visible effect; the good economist takes into account both the effect that can be seen and those effects that must be foreseen.' ... Do a simple smell test on these examples of economic lunacy. Would the Japanese economy face even greater opportunities for economic growth had the earthquake and tsunami also struck Tokyo, Hiroshima, Yokohama and other major cities? Would the 9-11 terrorists have done us an even bigger economic favor had they destroyed buildings in other cities? The belief that society benefits from destruction is lunacy." --economist Walter E. Williams

Government

"Gas is well over $4 a gallon in most places in California -- and soaring elsewhere as well. But are such high energy prices good or bad? That should be a stupid question. Yet it is not when the Obama administration has stopped new domestic offshore oil exploration in many American waters, curbed oil leases in the West, and keeps oil-rich areas of Alaska exempt from drilling. ... Consider the logic of the president's Orwellian declaration: The United States in the last two years has restricted oil exploration of the sort Brazil is now rushing to embrace. We have run up more than $4 trillion in consecutive budget deficits during the Obama administration and are near federal insolvency. Therefore, the United States should be happy to borrow more money to purchase the sort of 'new stable sources of energy' from Brazil's offshore wells that we most certainly will not develop off our own coasts. It seems as if paying lots more for electricity and gas, in European fashion, was originally part of the president's new green agenda." --columnist Victor Davis Hanson

Re: The Left

"I cannot for the life of me see how an American president can launch a serious military action without a full and formal national address in which he explains to the American people why he is doing what he is doing, why it is right, and why it is very much in the national interest. He referred to his aims in parts of speeches and appearances when he was in South America, but now he's home. More is needed, more is warranted, and more is deserved. He has to sit at that big desk and explain his thinking, put forward the facts as he sees them, and try to garner public support. He has to make a case for his own actions. It's what presidents do! And this is particularly important now, because there are reasons to fear the current involvement will either escalate and produce a lengthy conflict or collapse and produce humiliation. Without a formal and extended statement, the air of weirdness, uncertainty and confusion that surrounds this endeavor will only deepen. ... America has been though a difficult 10 years, and the burden of proof on the need for U.S. action would be with those who supported intervention. Chief among them, of course, is the president, who made the decision as commander in chief. He needs to sit down and tell the American people how this thing can possibly turn out well. He needs to tell them why it isn't mad." --columnist Peggy Noonan

Liberty

"[P]rognostication is a skill few journalists, politicians, diplomats, and intelligence officials have demonstrated consistently over time. So while it's clear that the Muslim world is in the throes of a major transformation, let's not pretend we know how this story ends. It's possible we're seeing an Arab spring, a democratic awakening -- uprisings that will bring freedom to societies that have known only oppression. But it's equally possible that one form of oppression will simply replace another. ... It's comforting to believe there is a 'right side to history.' But if history demonstrates anything it is that history has no preferences. History includes wars and interludes of peace, dark ages and enlightenments, cities rising and cities razed. Sometimes history marches from one age to the next. More often, it stumbles. Though the future cannot be predicted, its course may be altered. ... The lessons here are not hard to grasp yet few journalists, politicians, diplomats and intelligence officials seem to have grasped them." --Cliff May, President of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies

The Gipper

"Our party must be based on the kind of leadership that grows and takes its strength from the people. Any organization is in actuality only the lengthened shadow of its members. A political party is a mechanical structure created to further a cause. The cause, not the mechanism, brings and holds the members together. And our cause must be to rediscover, reassert and reapply America's spiritual heritage to our national affairs. Then with God's help we shall indeed be as a city upon a hill with the eyes of all people upon us." --Ronald Reagan

Opinion in Brief

"It's no secret how the KGB was actively involved in bankrolling and furthering the radical student and hippie movements of the 1960s in hopes that stinky, stoned hippies and violent America-hating radicals like Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn and dupes in the Weathermen, Students for a Democratic Society and others would topple America or cause it great harm. Why do you think they call it dope? Just a few years after the 1960s hippies largely became extinct, a man named Ronald Reagan brought the Soviet Union to its knees, proving that communism, socialism and anti-Americans like Mr. Ayers and Ms. Dohrn were no match for the strongest force ever developed by man: capitalism. Excellence has its rewards -- never forget that. Tragically, American colleges remain infested with leftover liberals who spout socialist and communist idiocy from their insulated, ivory towers. However, the majority of Americans find liberalism to be a bankrupt, brain-dead political ideology that destroys instead of builds and creates dependence instead of independence. Real rebellion is cool so long as the rebels replace the current system with something better, such as that which the American Revolution achieved." --columnist Ted Nugent

Faith & Family

"Last year, you'll recall that we created an iPhone app for the Manhattan Declaration. The app would allow users to read, sign, and share the Manhattan Declaration and its defense of human life, traditional marriage, and religious freedom. Apple said the app was 'free from objectionable material.' But when a group that supports so-called 'gay marriage' protested that the Declaration promoted 'hate' and 'homophobia' and was 'anti-gay,' (which it wasn't), Apple removed the app from its iPhone store. ... Now they have another: Exodus International, a Christian ministry that aims to free people from homosexuality. Apple has now removed the Exodus International app from its app store. ... Some may say that losing an iPhone app for Exodus International isn't that big a deal... But it's not just about apps. It's about freedom of speech, the ability to participate in the marketplace of ideas. The gay-rights groups have shown their fangs. Victory in the courts or in the legislatures is not enough for them. They want to silence, yes, destroy those who don't agree with their agenda. So they target Christian groups and corporate America to do just that. The writing is on the wall, folks. For the sake of religious liberty and free speech, we must not remain silent. Not on this issue, or on any issue that would threaten free speech and freedom of religion." --author Chuck Colson

Culture

"Newsweek magazine recently announced its disgust after it offered the government's official citizenship test (the one we require immigrants to pass before being naturalized) to 1,000 Americans. Thirty-eight percent of the sample failed. ... Sixty-five percent couldn't figure out that the Constitution was penned and adopted at the Constitutional Convention; 63 couldn't identify how many justices were on the Supreme Court (nine); and 73 percent couldn't identify that communism was what we opposed in the Cold War. Current national leaders aren't so well known: 29 percent could not identify the current vice president (Joe Biden) and twice that percentage didn't identify the Speaker of the House (John Boehner). ... Some public schools have used the citizenship test as a social-studies project in civic knowledge. A daring principal could make passage of the citizenship test a high-school graduation requirement. Promoting better civic and historical knowledge is an important cause. But this leads to a follow-up question for Newsweek and its media colleagues: Do journalists see building civic knowledge as an important part of their job?" --columnist L. Brent Bozell

STRIKERS,

We are nearing the final stretch. We have several things coming this week to help get the word out but, if ever there was a time for you to begin getting involved, now is that time.

We request your assistance now in helping us test our new proprietary "Demand Atlas to your town!" service.

Specifically, we need to know if the zips entered are aggregating to your metro area properly and if the process itself is a smooth one.

Please go to http://www.atlasshruggedpart1.com/demand and leave feedback in the comments section when done if need be. We'll be monitoring closely.

Remember, Atlas Shrugged is an independent film, being distributed independently. It's up to us to make things happen and US includes YOU.

With your help, it's not who's going to let us open on April 15th, it's who's going to stop us.

Obama Gives Thumbs-Up to Mass Amnesty Push

President Goes to El Salvador and Promises New Amnesty for Illegal Aliens

(Our goal is $82,794 by Thursday Midnight)

It's Jim Robb again, speaking for Roy and our whole NumbersUSA crew.

If you're like me, you probably thought last fall's election put an end to any talk of a mass amnesty for illegal aliens.

Or, at least, when NumbersUSA's members tipped the balance and caused the so-called "DREAM Act" to be defeated in last December's lame duck session of Congress, surely that was the end of the road for amnesties? Right?

Unfortunately, the White House did not get the message. President Obama used his Central American trip last week to ease concerns there that anyone in the U.S. illegally would be sent home.

After all, the president says he hoped to legalize their status. That's right. Pres. Obama is about to renew his drive for an illegal alien amnesty.

I do not exaggerate. Here's the exact quote from USA Today's online blog of March 22:

A Salvadoran reporter asks about economic development in Latin America and the immigration issue.

Obama says he supports "comprehensive immigration reform" that will strengthen the American borders while giving existing illegal aliens "a pathway to get right by the law." Adds that the only way to solve the immigration problem is with a "broad comprehensive reform," including economic development in Central America.

"The politics of this are difficult," Obama adds, but he expressed confidence it could get done.

Outrageous, isn't it!

Please consider making a donation to help us spread the word about this new amnesty threat. To stop this amnesty push before it gains more momentum, we need to slam Congress and the White House with thousands of faxes and phone calls.

This is an expensive strategy. Help us! Our goal is $82,794 by Thursday Midnight.

(If you have never donated to NumbersUSA, please consider tossing in $10 to help cover our massive phone bills. Faxing costs our members nothing, but it certainly is not free to us! Thanks.)

The danger from this amnesty is imminent!

According to a story broadcast on National Public Radio on March 18, Mara Liasson, the veteran NPR reporter, stated, "The White House has been planning to make another push for immigration legislation sometime in the next couple of months."

Already, the Obama administration is participating in a new and very threatening new strategy, working with states like Utah to overturn U.S. law.

Did you hear what Utah did? Unfortunately, the Chamber of Commerce and the Open Borders lobby have managed to take over the Republican-led Utah state government.

Earlier this month, the Utah legislature passed and the governor signed a bill to grant special work permits to illegal aliens who've found a job in Utah. In other words, Utah has decided to issue its own, very-unconstitutional work visas to illegal aliens!

This unconstitutional action might be laughable if so many serious institutions weren't backing it, and if it weren't being spotlighted as model legislation by scores of newspapers nationwide.

The state of Utah is now asking U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder to grant a "waiver" to Utah so that Utah can allow illegal aliens to work there--legally?? Holder actually met with a delegation of Utah officials concerning this matter.

NumbersUSA is fighting to keep this ridiculous and unconstitutional idea from spreading to other states that happen to want cheap illegal labor.

And we're fighting to keep the Obama administration from granting an unconstitutional "waiver" to Utah. (We're pretty sure the U.S. Supreme Court will ultimately knock down the Utah law, but what happens if the federal government fails to challenge the Utah law in court?)

We need massive faxing, phoning, and lobbying from our crack Capitol Hill team to get this done. All this is expensive! None of it can be won without your help! Please help us! Our goal this month is $82,794 by Thursday midnight.

There are four ways to give:

1) On-line credit card (we take all major cards);

2) Give by PayPal;

3) Check -- see the instructions and a form to print out and send with your check;

4) Call (877) 885-7733 to arrange a wire transfer, stock donation, or to make a credit card donation over the phone. If our office is closed, please leave the time and your phone number and we will call back.

The forecasts about America's rising indebtedness are becoming ever more dire.  The national debt, which more than doubled over the last decade, is projected to double again over the next 10 years.  Total U.S. Government debt exceeded 90 percent of gross domestic product last year, a level at which economic "growth deteriorates markedly," according to an analysis by Harvard economist Kenneth Rogoff and University of Maryland economist Carmen Reinhart.

The $438 billion interest payment on our debt is currently the government's fourth largest expense behind Medicare/Medicaid spending, Social Security, and the Department of Defense.  The Government Accountability Office predicts interest on the national debt will be the single largest item in the federal budget in the next decade.

What's particularly alarming about that interest payment is that unlike other federal spending programs, it siphons money out of our domestic economy, sending much of it to foreign investors who hold 46 percent of our publicly held debt.  The top four foreign holders of U.S. debt are China, Japan, Britain, and the oil-producing OPEC nations.

As former Senator George Voinovich (R-Ohio) said, "Borrowing hundreds of billions of dollars from China and OPEC puts not only our future economy, but also our national security, at risk."

In short, America is headed for a financial train wreck.

That's why I urge you to make a contribution today to help us keep broadcasting the "Chinese Professor" ad's warning that we must get Washington's runaway, deficit spending under control.

EDWARD, we now know that the demand sent by taxpayers in last year's elections for immediate and deep spending cuts will alone not be enough to save this country from bankruptcy.

Despite all the talk of fiscal restraint, President Obama recently released a budget that forecasts the fourth straight year of trillion-dollar-plus deficits in fiscal year 2012.  The federal deficit in February of this year alone was larger than the entire deficit in 2007!

With the budget battles raging in Washington right now, we must keep up and even increase the pressure for an end to wasteful, big-government spending, and CAGW's "Chinese Professor" ad is a vital part of that effort.

As the Internet publication American Thinker stated, our ad shows "how bad economic policies in Washington can change the balance of power in the world to the benefit of foreign rivals... the CAGW ad helps set the stage for changes on both [the federal and trade] deficit fronts."

We want to air this ad so widely that every American household will see it before the end of this year.  What's more, it's critical that we keep airing "Chinese Professor" in the weeks ahead as fiscal conservatives in Congress work to cut spending in the fiscal year 2011 budget, and in the months ahead as Congress begins debate on the budget for 2012.

I urge you, before you do anything else today, to make a contribution of $25.00$35.00$50.00$100.00, or more to help us keep airing our ad to remind Americans in the most stunning way possible of the consequences of continuing on our nation's current path of deficit spending and spiraling debt.

EDWARD, I used to say that failing to slash Washington's wasteful, deficit spending would undermine economic prosperity for our children and grandchildren.  But with our national debt already exceeding 90 percent of gross domestic product, a level at which economic "growth deteriorates markedly," you and I face the very real prospect of a deteriorating standard of living right now.

Please make a contribution to support this national advertising and public awareness campaign.  As our "Chinese Professor" ad says, "You can change the future.  You have to."

Sincerely,
schatz_signature_gif

Thomas A. Schatz
President

P.S.  EDWARD, we must keep reminding the American people what is at stake if we do not slash Washington's orgy of deficit spending.  As Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has stated:  Not al-Qaeda, not suicide bombers, and not the war in Afghanistan, but the "national debt is our biggest national security threat."  CAGW's nationally acclaimed "Chinese Professor" ad can not only rally millions of Americans against wasteful, big government, it can also play a pivotal role in winning significant spending cuts.  Please make your largest possible contribution of  $25.00, $35.00, $50.00 $100.00, or more today to help us keep it on the air.

Social Security Personal Accounts and the Financial Crisis

This column by ACRU General Counsel and Policy Director for the Carleson Center for Public Policy (CCPP) Peter Ferrara was published March 25 on Forbes.com.

In a weekly radio address on Aug. 14 of last year, President Obama taunted Republicans on the issue of a personal savings and investment account option for Social Security, which President Bush had campaigned on successfully in 2000 and 2004. Obama said such a personal account option was "an ill-conceived idea ... tying your benefits to the whims of Wall Street traders and the ups and downs of the stock market."

Accusing Republicans of still harboring such heresies, he said he thought the idea "would've been put to rest once and for all by the financial crisis we just experienced ... after seeing the wealth people worked a lifetime to earn wiped out in a matter of days." But "some Republican leaders...don't seem to have learned any lessons from the past few years," Professor Obama explained.

Clash For America's Soul

This column by ACRU Senior Fellow Robert Knight was published March 25 on The Washington Times website.

Underneath headlines about Libya, the Japanese disaster and the Republicans' dainty attempts to nip around the edges of our massive federal debt, the culture war is raging.

The left is lobbing nukes into the institution of marriage and the military. Obamacare is going forward, complete with funding for abortion and massive increases in the size of the already enormous Department of Health and Human Services. Defunding this increasingly unpopular power grab should be in every budget bill - but it's not.

Evasion of the Body Snatchers

This column by ACRU Senior Fellow Ken Blackwell was published March 22 on Townhall.com.

Eleven years after Abraham Lincoln was assassinated, on the eve of America's great Centennial celebration, counterfeiters formed a plot to steal his body from its honored grave in Springfield, Illinois. They had plans to hold the body for ransom. The U.S. Secret Service was able, happily, to disrupt this ghoulish plot.

Today, we have a new ghoulish plot. Liberal writers are trying to steal the body of Ronald Reagan. They don't want to hold it for ransom. Instead, they are vigorously telling us he wasn't what we think he was.

The Washington Post recently carried a book review by David Baldacci. I see this prolific writer's overflowing output in every airport bookstore. This time, however, Mr. Baldacci makes his debut as historian and political commentator.

Honoring All our WWI Heroes

This column by ACRU Senior Fellow Ken Blackwell was published March 19 on Townhall.com.

President Obama and Vice President Biden this week paid an unannounced visit to Arlington National Cemetery. They went there to offer the thanks of a grateful nation for the service of Frank Buckles, the last known survivor of the American "Doughboys" of World War I. Buckles was barely 16 when he fibbed about his age to get into uniform.

It is altogether fitting and proper that they should do this.

That Great War was America's baptism by fire on the world scene. Although France and Britain, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand had already been fighting in Flanders field and Northeast France for three long, bloody years when the U.S. came into the war against Germany, the Americans were welcomed most heartily, especially by the exhausted French.

English First Applauds Sen. Inhofe, Rep. King on Bill Introduction
"English Language Unity Act" will encourage common language

Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK) and Representative Steve King (R-IA) recently reintroduced the "English Language Unity Act," which would make English the official language of the United States.

With the help of activism by members of English First, Rep. King's bill (H.R. 997) was introduced with 60 original cosponsors.

"A common language is the most powerful unifying force known throughout history," Rep. King said. "We need to encourage assimilation of all legal immigrants in each generation. A nation divided by language cannot pull together as effectively as a people."

Sen. Inhofe commented that his legislation, S. 503, "Will provide much-needed commonality among United States citizens, regardless of heritage. As a nation built by immigrants, it is important that we share one vision and one official language."

This legislation will require the federal government to perform official duties in English, and includes an English language rule for naturalization.  It also stipulates that "All citizens should be able to read and understand generally the English language text of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the laws of the United States made in pursuance of the Constitution" and that "All naturalization ceremonies shall be conducted in English."

The goal of this legislation is supported by an overwhelming majority of Americans (eighty-four percent, according to a recent Rasmussen poll).  In a country in which some 300 languages are spoken, government policies that seek to appease non-English speakers not only create a burden on taxpayers but also serve to prevent legal immigrants from enjoying the benefits of full assimilation into American life.

In making English the official language of government, the Inhofe/King legislation is an important step to unifying a nation of immigrants with a common language.

English First commends the efforts of Sen. Inhofe and Rep. King for once again pushing language that will serve as a unifying factor in America.

Sincerely,
Frank McGlynn
Executive Director

Lee and Chaffetz Stand Strong against Utah Guest Worker Amnesty Bill

Two members of Utah's delegation, U.S. Senator Mike Lee (R) and U.S. Congressman Jason Chaffetz (R) announced their opposition to Utah's new guest worker amnesty law last week, declaring their belief that the law is unconstitutional. Under Utah's new law, H.B. 116, the state may grant illegal aliens who enter the state before May 10, 2011 guest worker permits, allowing them to continue living and working in Utah-in direct violation of federal law. The bill also allows these illegal workers to sponsor their illegal alien relatives (spouses and children) for permits that allow them to accompany the worker. H.B. 116 will go into effect as soon as the State of Utah obtains a waiver from the federal government or July 1, 2013, whichever is sooner.

Early last week, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano and Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Alejandro Mayorkas unveiled an online version of E-verify that allows individuals to verify their own work authorization.  This electronic version is intended to provide workers with an opportunity to verify their own work authorization, thereby allowing them to correct any inaccuracies in their DHS and Social Security Administration (SSA) records before applying for employment. DHS also hopes the self-check program will streamline the verification process for employers. (Id.) The Senate's EPA Showdown

Democrats face a moment of truth on regulatory cap and trade.

The Wall Street Journal | MARCH 28, 2011

The Environmental Protection Agency debate lands in the Senate this week, amid the makings of a left-right coalition to mitigate the agency's abuses. Few other votes this year could do more to help the private economy-but only if enough Democrats are willing to buck the White House.

This moment arrived unexpectedly, with Majority Leader Harry Reid opening a small business bill to amendments. Republican leader Mitch McConnell promptly introduced a rider to strip the EPA of the carbon regulation authority that the Obama Administration has given itself. Two weeks ago, Mr. Reid pulled the bill from the floor once it became clear Mr. McConnell might have the 13 Democrats he needs to clear 60.

The votes are now due as soon as tomorrow, and Mr. Reid is trying to attract 41 Democrats with a rival amendment from Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus. The Baucus plan is a political veneer that would exempt some farms and businesses from the EPA maw but at the cost of endorsing everything else. The question for Democrats is whether their loyalties to President Obama and EPA chief Lisa Jackson trump the larger economic good, not to mention constituents already facing far higher energy costs.

Bombing people to save them is not new to recent American history. Years ago, it was said that a village in Vietnam had to be destroyed to save it.

Now Obama leads us in a noble kinetic military exercise to kill Libyans to save them; to bomb Gadhafi Libyans to save al-Qaida Libyans. How humanitarian. Yet how tragically limited.

What about the brave Islamic jihadis dying at the hands of the dictators' goons in the streets of Yemen and Syria and Bahrain? Don't we owe them bomb strikes and a no-fly zone, too? Why only Libya?

Why Does Obama Hate Small Business?

BigGovernment.com | by Wayne Allyn Root

I've started more than a dozen small businesses. For one, over $20 million was invested by me and investors who believed in me. I've paid payrolls, health insurance, payroll taxes, workers comp, and unemployment insurance for hundreds of employees.

Because of that, my employees were able to pay their mortgages, buy groceries, send their kids to college, and provide for their families. For this same small business, I spent about $50 million dollars on things like advertising, marketing, promotion, lawyers and accountants. That money enriched and employed thousands of others. And, that's just one small business. Think of the impact that thirty million small business owners have on the U.S. economy. No wonder we create 70% or more of America's new jobs. Small businessmen and women are a far more powerful economic force than Exxon, Microsoft, GE, or Wal-Mart.

Obama Blows a Call

By Rich Galen
I have no idea how all the turmoil in the Middle East and North Africa is going to end up. My fear is, we will have expended another couple of hundreds of billions of dollars and people who don't like us will be in charge and we'll be paying $5.50 for a gallon of regular by September. I don't have any better suggestions as to what course we should be following than Co-President Hillary Clinton has already decided upon, but I'm pretty sure the first airplane dropping the first bomb would have been from an Islamic nation, not France.

Obama's Justice Department finds a conscience clause for "their people" Muslims, of course

Mar 28, 2011 06:13 am | Coach Collins

By Kevin "Coach" Collins

In May 2009 when Nurse Catherina Cenzon-DeCarlo was forced to participate in committing a late term abortion in a New York City hospital she did so because she was directly threatened with firing if she did not comply. Ms. Cenzon-DeCarlo was threatened with the loss of her job and her license if she did not put aside her deeply held religious objections to abortions.

She was told the abortion was an emergency although the hospital's records show otherwise. What is clear is that in a hospital full of nurses the administration felt it had to make its point by forcing this particular Christian nurse to knuckle under.

At the time Nurse Cenzon-DeCarlo was forced to yield to the hospital's lust for death, federal law protected her. She was legally and morally victimized, but now has to sue to get the hospital to stop harassing her. The federal protections extended to those who refuse to commit ... AP's 'Fact Check' Hammers Obama's Speech

WASHINGTON (AP) - There may be less than meets the eye to President Barack Obama's statements Monday night that NATO is taking over from the U.S. in Libya and that U.S. action is limited to defending people under attack there by Moammar Gadhafi's forces.

In transferring command and control to NATO, the U.S. is turning the reins over to an organization dominated by the U.S., both militarily and politically. In essence, the U.S. runs the show that is taking over running the show.

And the rapid advance of rebels in recent days strongly suggests they are not merely benefiting from military aid in a defensive crouch, but rather using the multinational force in some fashion - coordinated or not - to advance an offensive.

'The Coming is Near': New Eerie Iran Propaganda Vid Trumpets Imminent Return of 12th Imam

The Blaze | by Jonathon M. Seidl | March 28, 2011

"New evidence has emerged that the Iranian government sees the current unrest in the Middle East as a signal that the Mahdi-or Islamic messiah-is about to appear."

So begins an ominous report by CBN's Erick Stakelbeck detailing a propaganda video reportedly "approved at the highest levels of the Iranian government." That video explains "all the signs are moving into place - and that Iran will soon help usher in the end times."

Regular Beck viewers may know the Mahdi by another name, the twelfth imam - a term not lost to Stakelbeck, who writes thattThe new video "describes current events in the Middle East as a prelude to the arrival of the mythical twelfth Imam or Mahdi - the messiah figure who Islamic scriptures say will lead the armies of Islam to victory over all non-Muslims in the last days."

DIVORCE AGREEMENT

THIS IS SO INCREDIBLY WELL PUT AND I CAN HARDLY BELIEVE IT'S BY A YOUNG PERSON, A STUDENT!!! WHATEVER HE RUNS FOR, I'LL VOTE FOR HIM. OUTSTANDING.

Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists,Marxists and Obama supporters, et al:

We have stuck together since the late 1950's, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has run its course. Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right so let's just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way.

Here is a model separation agreement:

Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking a portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes.

We don't like redistributive taxes so you can keep them. You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU. Since you hate guns and war, we'll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military. You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell (You are, however, responsible for findind a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of them).

We'll keep the capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart and Wall Street. You can have your beloved homeless, homeboys, hippies and illegal aliens. We'll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO's and rednecks. We'll keep the Bibles and give you NBC and Hollywood.

You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us. You can have the peaceniks and war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we'll help provide them security.

We'll keep our Judeo-Christian values.. You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism and Shirley McClain. You can also have the U.N.. but we will no longer be paying the bill.

We'll keep the SUVs, pickup trucks and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Subaru station wagon you can find. You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any practicing doctors.

We'll continue to believe healthcare is a luxury and not a right. We'll keep The Battle Hymn of the Republic and the National Anthem. I'm sure you'll be happy to substitute Imagine, I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing, Kum Ba Ya or We Are the World.

We'll practice trickledown economics and you can give trickle up poverty your best shot. Since it often so offends you, we'll keep our history, our name and our flag.

Would you agree to this? If so, please pass it along to other likeminded liberal and conservative patriots and if you do not agree, just hit delete. In the spirit of friendly parting, I'll bet you ANWAR which one of us will need whose help in 15 years.

Sincerely,

John J. Wall

Law Student and an American

P.S. Also, please take Barbara Streisand & Jane Fonda with you.

Media Matters' Planned War Against FOX

Make no mistake....this is a war against Conservatives!  They want to take down FOX because it is considered the Conservative news site.  What should our response be?  What progressive sites should we take a 'distinct' interest in???  They want to go into the trenches, I guess we can follow them there...your suggestions on an appropriate response would be greatly appreciated!

501(c)(3)? Media Matters to 'sabotage' Fox News

Typically tax exempt 'charitable' 501(c)(3) contributes some sort of good to benefit society. Media Matters (a group created by Hillary Clinton) on the other hand curiously doesn't fit the description of a typical 501(c)(3). MMFA CEO David Brock says they will now engage in 'guerrilla warfare and sabotage' against Fox. Sounds less like charity and more like political thuggery. Why are they still tax exempt? Glenn has more on radio today. The Washington Examiner also questions MMFA's 501(c)(3) status HERE.

Eco-terrorist wannabe Steven Lerner still works for SEIU

When The Blaze uncovered shocking audio last week of a prominent union organizer plotting to sabotage the stock market and collapse the United States economy, the left responded by saying Steve Lerner did not have any influence. It turns out Lerner is still employed with President Obama's favorite union SEIU. Glenn reacts to the news on radio today - get the full story from The Blaze HERE.
Farrakhan: 'America's not filled with human beings. America's filled with beasts.'

Leaders from both The New Black Panthers and the Nation of Islam have gone from praising Obama on the campaign trail to attacking him over the war in Libya and now Louis Farrakhan is likening America to the Anti-Christ of the Book of Revelation. Glenn plays the audio from both groups on radio today. Click HERE to check out his reaction.

Obama's war 'Kinetic Military Action'

President Obama speaks today on what the White House is calling 'kinetic military action' in Libya - a desperate attempt at PR spin designed to make the Nobel Peace Prize winner look... peaceful. Why did the President wait 9 days after the bombing started to explain why we are there and what the exit strategy is? Glenn has more on radio today.
