1. House Leadership Let Obamacare Expansion Pass

Yesterday, House Republican Leadership allowed a bill to come to the floor of the House to expand the scope of an Obamacare program. The bill passed by a vote of 280-138-with 95 Republican votes.

The Veterinary Public Health Amendments Act (HR 525), introduced by Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), would increase the number of veterinarians with public health training via federal subsidies. One of the bill's provisions expands the Public Health Workforce Loan Repayment Program-a loan program created in Obamacare (Title V of Section 5204)-to include veterinarians in the definition of eligible public health officials.

After Obamacare was enacted, Democrats recognized that the loan program would not cover veterinarians and so they passed legislation late last year to expand its scope.

2. The Wisconsin GOP has had enough.

The Wisconsin Republicans have been prevented from passing their financial reform package because they must have a super-majority quorum in the state legislature to pass financial matters. Part of the financial reform package was an end to collective bargaining on salary for public employees. Consequently, the Wisconsin legislature got tired of the Democrats hiding in Illinois. By an 18-1 vote, the Wisconsin Senate stripped collective bargaining from the financial package and passed it as a stand alone item. The portion of the financial package that the unions most objected to is now going to be the law without them present. They are, to say the least, upset.

Oh well. At least the Republicans didn't just "deem" it passed.

3. Joe Manchin: The Cowardly Faux Moderate

Perhaps no politician is more willing to engage in political acrobatics than Joe Manchin. There is no degree to which he will not contort his political statements and ideological alignment in order to obtain and retain power in West Virginia. Manchin aired an infamous TV ad depicting himself taking aim at the cap and trade bill while campaigning to join the anti-gun, pro-'cap and trade' Democrat Party. Despite his previous support for ObamaCare, he campaigned against it. Now he is eliciting headlines by criticizing Obama on the budget. However, it is Manchin's voting record that we must examine, not his contrived political stunts or meaningless rhetoric.

4. White House to Union-Controlled NLRB: Shush now! Be quiet!

A few weeks ago, as the debate over the FY 2011 budget was being debated, we raised the question as to why the union-controlled National Labor Relations Board wanted even more money from taxpayers, even as the NLRB's case load has plummeted over the last ten years. Then, when the GOP-led House proposed cutting the NLRB's budget by a mere $50 million (from $283 million to $233 million), the NLRB's pro-union Chairman Wilma Liebman and the NLRB's Acting General Counsel Lafe Solomon responded with an alarmist statement.

Don't Tap the Strategic Petroleum Reserve

Posted March 9th, 2011

As gas prices hit $4 per gallon, White House spokesman Jay Carney assured Americans on Monday that the administration is well aware of the toll high fuel costs are taking on American families. So what's President Obama's solution to America's pain? According to White House chief of staff Bill Daley, the administration may tap into the nation's oil safety net - the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) - in order to bring down the cost of fuel. Big mistake. While most folks want to pay less at the pump, dipping into our oil reserves is a short-sighted political ploy that papers-over a much bigger, long-term problem: the Obama administration's continuing refusal to grant America access to its domestic oil resources.

Did Obama Finally Accept That He Lost the Obamacare Lawsuit?

Posted March 8th, 2011

After weeks of delay, the Obama Administration finally went ahead and did it.  Early Tuesday night, the Department of Justice filed a notice of appeal in Florida v. HHS, the multi-state lawsuit that has the best chance of striking down Obamacare.  This is a routine filing with the district court, but it is a necessary step in the march to the Supreme Court.

But there's a small nugget of news buried in the filing for those who have been following the case closely: the filing is two days early! That isn't much, but it is a conspicuous change of pace for the Obama Administration, which has attempted to delay this litigation at every turn, and with highly questionable legal tactics.  The administration's goal is to buy time to build up the edifice of Obamacare so that, even if the courts do strike down the individual mandate, the Supremes will allow the rest to stand.  That strategy may now be unraveling.

Unknown Risks and Potential Dangers of A Constitutional Convention

Posted March 8th, 2011

(This is a must read!)

On a variety of fronts-Medicaid mandates, individual health insurance mandates, national education standards-state governments are vigorously pushing back against an overweening federal establishment. This resistance to federal power includes a number of folks who are promoting a constitutional remedy that has never yet been employed in our nation's history-a convention for considering constitutional amendments. As provided for in Article V of the U.S. Constitution, states have the power to call on Congress for a constitutional convention when two-thirds of them agree to do so. We asked Matthew Spalding, Director of the B. Kenneth Simon Center for American Studies at The Heritage Foundation, for his thoughts on this idea.

A Senate where Shame, Spending, and Inertia Rule

Posted March 8th, 2011

The federal government ran a budget deficit last month of $223 billion, according to recent analysis by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). With deficits consistently running to levels almost beyond human comprehension, it would be easy to miss the fact that this was the largest single-month deficit on record.

So, what are Congress and President Obama doing about it? The House of Representatives took the first step to get deficit spending under control by passing a Continuing Resolution to fund the government for the rest of the year for $61 billion less than 2010. A good first step, but lest anyone miss the big picture, this cut was equal to about one week's worth of deficit spending in the month of February. Truly an example of the old saw that the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Obamacare Subsidizes Health Benefits for State and Local Government Retirees

Posted March 8th, 2011

It's no secret that Obamacare is chock full of favors for big labor. One example is the new law's excise tax on "Cadillac" insurance plans, which won't apply to collectively bargained health plans when it goes into effect.

It doesn't end there. Obamacare also created the Early Retirement Reinsurance Program, which subsidizes employer-sponsored health benefits for early retirees and their families. The program will cover 80 percent of health expenses between $15,000 and $90,000, and was intended to encourage employers to maintain coverage for the age group between 55 and 65, who can face difficulties purchasing insurance in the individual market absent an employer-sponsored plan. According to Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius:

Print out the names of the Okay Gas stations and keep on your sunvisor. so when you have a choice, buy right.

You might want to pass this on.  Take a look at WALMART.  WOW they do it right (Notice where WalMart gets their gasoline!)

Where to buyAmericangasoline. This is very important to know.  Read on.

Gas rationing in the 70's worked even though we grumbled about it.  It might even have been good for us!

Are you aware that the Saudis are boycotting American products?  In addition, they are gouging us on oil prices.

Shouldn't we return the favor?  Can't we take control of our own destiny and let these giant oil importers know who REALLY generates their profits, their livings?  How about leaving American Dollars in America and reduce the import/export deficit?

An appealing remedy might be! to boycott their GAS.  Every time you fill up your car you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia .  Just purchase gas from companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis.

Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill up my tank, I'm sending my money to people who I get the impression want me, my family and my friends dead.  The following gas companies import Middle Eastern oil:

  Shell.....................................      205,742,000 barrels

  Chevron/Texaco.......................       144,332,000 barrels

  Exxon /Mobil..........................       130,082,000 barrels

  Marathon/Speedway..................       117,740,000 barrels

  Amoco...................................       62,231,000 barrels

And CITGO oil is imported from Venezuela by Dictator Hugo Chavez who hates America and openly avows our economic destruction!  (We pay Chavez's regime nearly $10 Billion per year in oil revenues!)

The U .S. currently imports 5,517,000 barrels of crude oil per day from OPEC.  If you do the math at $100 per barrel, that's over $550 million PER DAY ($200 BILLION per year!) handed over to OPEC, many of whose members are our confirmed enemies!!!  It won't stop here - oil prices could go to $200 a barrel or higher if we keep buying their product.

*******Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:

  Sunoco............................0 barrels
  Conoco............................0 barrels
  0ASinclair........................0 barrels
  BP / Phillips......................0 barrels

  Hess..............................0 barrels
  ARC0.............................0 barrels
  Maverick.........................0 barrels

  Flying J..........................0 barrels

  Valero............................0 barrels
  Murphy Oil USA*...............0 barrels

*Sold at Wal-Mart <, gas is from South Arkansas and fully USA owned and produced.

*Not only that but they give scholarships to all children in their town who finish high school and are legal US citizens...

All of this information is available from the U.S. Department of Energy and each company is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing.

But to have a real impact, we need to reach literally millions of gas buyers With the help of the internet, it's really simple to do.  Now, don't wimp out at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!

I'm sending this note to about thirty people.  If each of you send it to at only ten more (30 x 10 = 300)...and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000)...and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers!!!

If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted!  If it goes one level further, you guessed it...THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE-the entire population! of the United States of America !!!

Again, all you have to do is forward this message to 10 people. How long would that really take you?  If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people, within one day all 300 MILLION people could theoretically be contacted during the next eight days.

Neither GOP Nor Democrats Plan Balanced Budget in Next Decade

By Terence P. Jeffrey

In response to questions from CNSNews.com, House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer of Maryland and House Republican Majority Leader Eric Cantor of Virginia made clear this week that the American people should not expect either party to balance the federal budget anytime in the next decade. Hoyer and Cantor are effectively predicting that this $125,974-per-household debt burden will grow larger month after month, year after year, for at least the next 10 years--no matter which party holds the U.S. House of Representatives. But America cannot afford another decade of escalating debt.

Liberal Media Yawn at Assassinated Troops

On March 2, two U.S airmen, Nicholas Alden and Zachary Cuddeback, were gunned down at the airport in Frankfurt, Germany. Two other Americans were wounded. The assailant was a radical Muslim. This was a huge story to most Americans but not to our news media. If the amount of air time is any measure, the assassination of our troops drew a yawn. Even after the radical-Muslim motivations were confirmed, the network news anchors were still downplaying it.

Wisc. Senate Passes Collective Bargaining Ban Without Democrats

Posted on March 9, 2011 at 7:47pm by Meredith Jessup Meredith Jessup

In a quick turn of events, Republican state senators in Wisconsin have successfully pushed through a provision stripping public employees of their collective bargaining rights by separating it from Gov. Scott Walker's controversial budget bill.

The stand-alone measure passed Wednesday evening by a vote of 18-1. No Democrats were present.

In effect, the vote renders Democrats attempts to withhold the provision from the budget bill moot.

With the bill's most controversial provision removed, Republicans hope Democrats will now return to continue the debate of the rest of the budget proposal.

Obama Appeals

Acting on Judge Roger Vinson's orders, the Justice Department has filed an appeal in defense of ObamaCare with the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals requesting an expedited hearing. Legal experts predict that the 11th Circuit will hear oral arguments this summer, potentially "setting the stage for a Supreme Court showdown not long after."

Senate Democrats Bail Out On Deficit

Last month, the Republican-led House of Representatives took a small, first step toward reining in Obama's out-of-control spending by cutting $61 billion from the current budget. News this week that Washington ran a record monthly deficit of $223 billion should embolden those fighting to control spending. But it is clear that only one side in this debate is even somewhat serious.

Today, the Senate will take up the spending battle, and already Senate Democrat Leader Harry Reid is flying the white flag of surrender. On the Senate floor yesterday, Harry Reid castigated the House Republican bill as "mean-spirited." He complained that the cuts went too far because they threatened, among other things, a cowboy poetry festival in Nevada. Seriously, folks, I couldn't make this up if I tried! You can watch it here.

If Senate liberals can't bring themselves to cut spending on cowboy poetry, Planned Parenthood and public radio, how are they going to muster the courage to tackle the far greater problem of entitlement spending?

While the debt piles up and the politicians dither, the frustration is starting to boil over. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) lashed out at President Obama yesterday for his failure to lead. Manchin asked yesterday, "Why are we doing all this when the most powerful person in these negotiations -- our president -- has failed to lead this debate or offer a serious proposal for spending and cuts that he would be willing to fight for?"

A poll this week found that 95% of likely voters felt that reducing the debt was either very or somewhat important. The debt is a growing threat to our national security. As I have noted previously, entitlement spending is on track to consume 100% of federal tax revenues in the next 40 years.

Faced with this menacing threat, our president is voting "present" again. Rather than taking the lead, as Sen. Manchin suggests, Obama sent Joe Biden to Capitol Hill. Biden, as you may recall, is the man who defended the stimulus bill by saying, "We have to go spend money to keep from going bankrupt." How's that working out for you, Joe?

Fighting Forced Unionism

As the battle between Big Labor and Governor Scott Walker rages on in Wisconsin, Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) is sponsoring the National Right to Work Act to protect American workers from forced unionism. DeMint's bill would guarantee that no worker would be required to join a union in order to get or keep a job. Seven Senate conservatives have signed on as co-sponsors of DeMint's bill: Coburn (R-OK), Hatch (R-UT), Lee (R-UT), Paul (R-KY), Risch (R-ID), Toomey (R-PA) and Vitter (R-LA).

Contrary to what Obama and other left-wing politicians will claim, the bill is not an "assault on unions," but a serious effort to protect American workers. As Sen. DeMint noted in a press release, "One recent study found that ... from 1977 to 2007 right to work states experienced a 23 percent faster rise in per capita income than states with forced unionization."

DeMint pointed to Michigan as an example, saying, "Forced-unionism helped lead to GM and Chrysler's near bankruptcy and their requests for government bailouts... When American businesses suffer because of these anti-worker laws, jobs and investment are driven overseas."

Speaking of Jim DeMint, the South Carolina conservative is also leading the charge to defund National Public Radio. Last night, NPR executive Ron Schiller was forced to resign amid the growing fallout from a video sting that captured him making derogatory comments about the Tea Party and failing to refute anti-Semitic comments. This morning, NPR's CEO, Vivian Schiller (no relation), submitted her resignation in an attempt to quell the controversy.

But Senator DeMint isn't budging. DeMint said today, "The issue about taxpayers funding public broadcasting isn't about who gets hired or fired, it's about two simple facts: we can't afford it and they don't need it." Good for him!

Go After Obama's Values!

Yesterday I asked for your feedback on whether the GOP nominee in 2012 should go after Obama on policy issues only or whether they should go after him personally on his values. I posed the question because Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) on Meet The Press Sunday suggested that the Obama Administration was a "gangster government."

You overwhelmingly supported Bachmann's approach. Your strong support for her is a strong affirmation of our support for her. She is precisely the kind of unapologetic conservative that we look for. I'm very proud of our role in helping her win her first congressional primary in 2006, and the support we have provided since then. Of course, we couldn't do it without the generosity of friends like you!

Another strong theme in your feedback was that you want to see more fight from more congressional Republicans. I promise we will pass along that message to GOP leaders. I will also let them know that it is possible to make Obama's values an issue without alienating independent or swing voters.

For example, I believe there are millions of Americans who are very uneasy about Obama's instinct to apologize for America. I hope the Republican nominee will turn to Barack Obama during the presidential debates next year and ask him, "Why did you apologize to Europe, saying that America has been 'arrogant, dismissive, and derisive'?"

I hope our nominee asks Obama, "Why did you bow to the king of Saudi Arabia?" And, "Why don't you believe America is more exceptional than other countries?"

Most Americans believe this country is a "shining city upon a hill." They want a president whose vision for America is a stronger, freer and more prosperous country, not someone who seems content to manage our decline.

February 24, 2011

Dear Fellow Patriots,

As Barak Obama continues his efforts to control our daily life and impose his will upon us, this time by controlling our internet access, we must strike back at him!

Mr. Obama, on January 8, 2011, stated that he had tasked our federal Commerce Department with the job of deploying a federal "Digital Identity" for every American and that Obama will require all Americans to employ the federal Digital Identity to use the internet.

Well, what is a Digital Identity and what does it do? In all electronic communications - whether such is in the form of sending or receiving email, visiting pages on the internet and even in cell phone conversations - there is the possibility of using what is called "encrypted communications". The objective of encryption is to "jumble" the electronic information being passed from the sender to the intended recipient in such a manner that the information cannot be understood by an eavesdropper.

This "jumbling" is accomplished through electronic "keys" consisting of a private key and a public key.

Unless you hold the private key, you cannot read the encrypted information. Think of it as a modern, much more complex version of the old "secret codes" used in World War II and since, where different letters and numbers meant different things, so the message could only be understood by someone with a "code sheet", explaining what the letters and numbers meant.

Obama is going to impose his will on all major internet communications companies and force them to use his code sheet so he can track everyone's use of the internet.

Here is the dirty trick Obama is going to try: Obama wants the federal government to become the Big Brother, able to watch and read everything you do on the internet.

Thus, Obama wants the Commerce Department to hold a national "code sheet" that can be used to decrypt every bit of information that you - and every other American - sends, or receives, over the internet. If this is accomplished, you will have no private thoughts left.

If we don't act now, it will be too late and Obama will have literally placed a barcode on your forehead allowing him to follow you around the internet, watching everything your do!  Act NOW before it is too late.

How will this be done? While it is a process that only takes milliseconds to complete, the technology behind it is complex. Obama will base his national digital ID on the fact that YOU will not be allowed on the internet unless you expose Obama's public key through your browser (such as Microsoft's Internet Explorer, Apple's Safari Browser, or the Firefox browser) or your email client (such as Microsoft's Outlook or Outlook Express or Apple Mail).

What sort of companies would come under such control? Any company that provides telephone service such as AT&T, BellSouth, and SBCGlobal would be included. These sorts of companies control over 1.4 billion email addresses throughout the world according to their own advertisements.

Any company that provides public cable services involving telephone, communications or data transmissions. This will include such giants as Comcast, Cox Cable, Cablevision, Cable One, Charter Communications, Mediacom, RCN, Road Runner and Time Warner Cable.

Between just these two types of companies regulated by the Federal Communications Commission, there is more than 100% control of American communications within Obama's grasp should he succeed!

How can something be "... more than 100%"? Easy, just think of how many people have phone service by one company and cable by another. The figures add up very quickly so you will have no place to turn where Obama is not reading your thoughts!

We as a nation must band together and force our Congress to stop this frightening power grab!

If, say, Google or Bing or Yahoo! cannot read Obama's public key on your computer you will be denied internet access: you will not be able to browse the internet or send (or receive) email unless we, as conservatives, act NOW!

What can we do?

You can tell Congress that you want to stop Obama dead in his tracks... that you want to strip the Commerce Department of the power to carry out Obama's nefarious tricks.

I have previously sent to you copies of our proposed "Guaranty of Digital Security Act.

We must prove to Congress that the American people are behind this bill and that we want them to protect our privacy.

You can read this proposed bill by going to our Landing Page where you will find it at the bottom of the page. At the top is our request that you send Congress a demand letter that they protect your right to privacy.

The demand letter is completely editable so knock yourself out and give the members of Congress a piece of your mind.

If we, as Americans, don't take back our privacy, our government - even our American way of life - Obama will strip us of it all and laugh all the way to the his socialist heaven.

I urge you to follow this link to send demand letters to all Members of Congress. If you wish, also send to the Senate to put them on notice. But, at this time, we need only to work with the House.

Please note that I have included this time a "Senior Citizens" group for those of you living on limited income. Please, if you are not over 65 and on limited income, select one of the regular FaxGram groups.

Remember - the privacy you save will be your own! No one else is going to this for us. We have to ACT and ACT now!

Sincerely,

Gary G. Kreep, Esq.
Executive Director
United States Justice Foundation

PS - I urge you to follow this link and elect to send demand letters to all members of Congress right now!  If we do not stop Obama, there will be no privacy on the internet.  Every page you visit, every message you send, every query you make on Google, Bing or Yahoo will become known to Obama and his statist henchmen.
The privacy you protect is your own.  The republic you will save is America.  Act Now!

Juan Williams Calls Disgraced NPR Exec Racist, Bigoted, Sexist and Anti-Semitic

Noel Sheppard's picture

In the wake of a stunning video revealing the truly deplorable opinions of one of its executives, NPR has accepted the resignation of President Vivian Schiller while putting Ron Schiller (no relation) on administrative leave.

Fox News's Juan Williams, who was disgracefully fired by the radio network last year for having the nerve to voice his opinion, lashed out at NPR Tuesday evening on the "Hannity" show (videos follow with transcript and commentary):

Maine gets break in federal health care overhaul

Published: Tuesday, 8 Mar 2011 | 10:25 PM ET

PORTLAND, Maine - The federal government Tuesday granted Maine a waiver of a key provision in President Barack Obama's health care overhaul, citing the likelihood that enforcement could destabilize the state's market for individual health insurance.

Bush Tax Cuts Still Working - For Now

This column by ACRU General Counsel Peter Ferrara was published March 9 on The American Spectator website.

During President Obama's 2008 campaign, he termed the Bush tax cuts "the failed policies of the past." But last December, with the economy in shambles under the Keynesian, throwback, 1970s-style economic policies of Obamanomics, it was the Bush tax cuts he turned to, agreeing to extend the tax cuts for everyone for two more years. That was directly contrary to his 2008 campaign pledge to allow the tax cuts to expire for singles making over $200,000 per year, and for couples making over $250,000.

At the time I wrote in this space that the tax cut extension would allow breathing room for the long overdue economic recovery to finally sprout this year. And sure enough, that is exactly what has happened, with unemployment falling to 8.9% since then. But President Obama is now working on the Coming Crash of 2013, which will be the result on our current course if he is reelected.

Handouts, Morality and Common Sense

This column by ACRU Policy Board Member and Professor of Economics Dr. Walter E. Williams was published March 9 on Townhall.com.

Whether Americans realize it or not, the last decade's path of congressional spending is unsustainable. Spending must be reined in, but what spending should be cut? The Republican majority in the House of Representatives fear being booted out of office and are understandably timid. Their rule for whom to cut appears to be: Look around to see who are the politically weak handout recipients.

The problem is that those cuts won't put much of a dent in overall spending. The absolute last thing a Republican or Democrat congressmen wants to do is to cut handouts to, and thereby anger, recipients who vote in large numbers. To spare myself ugly mail, I'm not going to mention that handout group, but members of Congress know of whom I speak.

Terrorists With Union Cards?

This column by ACRU Senior Fellow Ken Blackwell was published March 8 on The Patriot Post website.

The response of our State Department spokesman, P.J. Crowley, to the murder of two U.S. Airmen and the wounding of two others in Germany was firmly noncommittal. Crowley was unwilling to call the incident terrorism.

After all, he said, you wouldn't call the shooter who killed federal judge John Roll, and five other people and who seriously wounded Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords in Tucson a terrorist, would you?

According to many witnesses, the assailant in Germany yelled "Allahu Akhbar" (Arabic for "God is Great") as he gunned down the young American servicemen, who were in uniform. The killer is a Kosovar Muslim, news reports confirm, but Crowley didn't want to jump to any conclusions.

Senate rejects dueling spending plans, leaves legislative stalemate

By Alexander Bolton - 03/09/11 03:52 PM ET

Senators voted largely along party lines Wednesday to reject two proposals to cut federal spending, leaving a legislative stalemate that will have to be resolved briskly to avert another government shutdown.

Dear Fellow Conservative:

I wanted to let you know about an important piece of legislation that I'm pushing to defund public broadcasting.

When it comes to federal funding of public broadcasting, there are two issues at stake: we don't have the money, and they don't need it. We're going broke and they're raising millions from private donors.

If NPR and PBS want to continue their programming, they should go ahead and do it, but not with our tax dollars.

Paying millions of dollars so NPR can cover things like cowboy poetry festivals while the nation is $14 trillion in debt is reckless. Yet, funding public broadcasting and cowboy poetry festivals is a priority for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, the Senate's most powerful Democrat. He was on the floor yesterday saying it was "mean spirited" to cut funding for these items.

That's right. While conservatives are fighting to save the country from bankruptcy, Democrats are fighting to save cowboy poetry.

We must have the courage to cut spending.

Americans should not be forced to fund public broadcasting when there are already thousands of private choices for educational and entertainment programming on television, radio, and the Internet.

Urge Your Senators to Defund Public Broadcasting

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), which funds NPR and PBS, was originally incorporated as a private, non-profit corporation in 1967, and its first taxpayer subsidy was $5 million. Last year CPB got $420 million from taxpayers and President Obama recently asked for an increase to $451 million.

This is money that should be used to reduce our nation's debt. Instead it's being used to pick winners and losers in a highly competitive media environment. It's also being used to pay lavish salaries.

According to 2009 tax forms, PBS President Paula Kerger received $632,233 in compensation that year while NPR President Emeritus, Kevin Klose, received more than $1.2 million in compensation.

NPR boasts that it only gets 2 percent of its funding from taxpayers and PBS gets about 15 percent, so these programs should be able to find a way to stand on their own.

A new undercover video of outgoing NPR Foundation president, Ron Schiller, surfaced yesterday that has it on the ropes. Besides calling the members of the Tea Party Movement "uneducated" and "racist", he also admitted that NPR did not need taxpayer money.

Let's take his advice and pass legislation to defund this biased news organization that is clearly out of touch with the American people. Please contact your senators today and urge them to get government out of broadcasting.

Thank you for working so hard to help us take our country back.

Respectfully,

Jim DeMint
United States Senator
Chairman, Senate Conservatives Fund

Democratic US Representative James Clyburn of South Carolina is standing next to a racist, anti-Semitic bigot.Compare newly elected Republican Tim Scott elected with help from the Club for Growth  I will await response from Jewish Defense organizations. Let us see who speaks the truth to Jewish voters and to non-Jewish voters.  In my view, it is harder and harder for Democrats to claim to be opponents of anti-Semitism. What if a Republican, particularly, Sarah Palin, stood with Louis Farrakhan or any anti-Semitic racist. The Main Stream Media and the Jewish Liberals would eviscerate him or her. Let us see who speaks out at this outrage.

This chart shows the dramatic increase in spending on government schools since 1989. It does not appear that "pain" would be the first word that comes to mind. The Governor is "cutting" from historic highs.

The unimaginative and formulaic, and mostly unionized,  media is spinning Gov. Corbett's as having  "deep spending cuts" in the $26 billion dollar education budget  because that is their conventional template. In fact, it is deep spending cuts only if one compares to last year. The Governor has reduced spending from this year from last but as this chart shows, the Governor is "cutting" from historic highs.

Philadelphia alone spends $3.2 billion on education and
to what effect? Lower Merion has spent quarter of a billion on new construction and not one child is learning any more.

Would that student learning performance had increased commensurate with spending.

For a sophisticated and detailed analysis of the $65.4 BILLION DOLLAR budget, see the brilliant Nathan Benefield’s Understanding the Pennsylvania State Budget March 7, 2011

Conservative movies:

Red Dawn (1984)

The Russians invade (or, if it's the rumored upcoming remake, the Chinese), and the U.S. president-a sonorous-voiced, African American lawyer who cut his teeth in the Chicago political machine-knows exactly what to do: surrender, negotiate, and be pleasantly surprised by how much room there is for partnership with the wonderful, enlightened new regime. No, not really. John Milius's film was made in the Reagan era, and it shows. America fights back. To the bitter end. If cute Jennifer Grey has to rig herself up to a booby-trapped grenade so she takes at least one of the Red sons-of-bitches with her, such is the price of liberty. God bless America. Better dead than red.

NPR exec canned

After unleashing bigoted attacks on conservatives, whites and the Tea Party, NPR has canned one exec and placed another on leave. This one is particularly interesting considering NPR unjustly fired Juan Williams last year for supposed bigoted comments - but here we have the suits at NPR who clearly have a bigoted point of view that they apply across the board. Get the latest details on the developing story and check out Williams' reaction to the news HERE.

No. 3 House Dem to appear with Louis Farrakhan

Rep. James Clyburn is scheduled to attend a discussion at the Wilson Center for African American Culture where controversial nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan will be a featured speaker. The president and CEO of the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation has already backed out of the event because of Farrakhan's plans to attend - will Clyburn follow suit? Want OPEC to pump more oil? Careful what you wish for

In attempts to ease rising global fears that oil prices are about to go through the roof, the Saudis have promised they will pump more oil and bring stability to the market. But according to experts, they've already been pumping to capacity since November, and won't be able to produce higher output without tapping into the global spare capacity. That's a problem, since oil prices are largely determined on spare capacity after supply has tightened. What happens if the Saudis can't step up? It's not pretty - get the details HERE.

Maine first state to get Obamacare waiver

Maine voted for Obama by a 57%-40% margin in the 2008 election, yet here they are trying to get out of following Obama's new healthcare law. Maine was the first state granted the waiver, but several other states have petitioned and are waiting to get an answer. Those states are Nevada (voted Obama in '08), New Hampshire (voted Obama '08) and Kentucky. What does the waiver mean exactly? Read the full story HERE

Another million fish turn up dead

It's being declared another 'natural' event, this time in California a million fish have gone belly up after allegedly depleting themselves of oxygen and suffocating after getting lost in the marina. Two tests of the water showed oxygen levels near zero. Whatever the cause, the pictures of a million dead fish are pretty gross - you can view them at The Blaze by clicking HERE.

Power Divided - The Argument for States' Rights

"The most divisive issues of the day are no longer being decided by everyday citizens crafting the laws under which they live, but by a federal behemoth overstepping its constitutional boundaries," writes nationally syndicated radio host Jason Lewis. In his new Op-Ed, Lewis examines the movement away from states' rights in favor of big government, and proposes a libertarian solution for the issues facing Americans across the country. You can read Lewis's full Op-Ed HERE and check out his new book HERE.
