Current Sermon Series

The start of every new year brings new challenges. It also gives us an opportunity to start over. A chance to wipe the slate clean and look toward the future with a fresh perspective. To see the possibilities that lie ahead as a chance to tackle life head on. Is it time for you to reGROUP?

Apples of Gold

Apples of Gold is a six-week mentoring program for young, married or engaged women. It is designed to encourage younger women through eight weekly lessons that include a cooking class, a Bible study and a time of fellowship. Mentors teach a variety of topics. It begins Thursday, February 2nd and continues for eight Thursday evenings from 6:30-9:00 p.m. Sign up is required at the Apples of Gold table in the lobby on Sunday or by clicking here. We need at least six women in order to have the class. Invite a friend to come along!

WHO'S WHO

AT EDINBROOK

Aaron & Heather Hjelle

"Wow, cool...that's what You were doing, God!" reflects Heather Hjelle. "It is exciting to be on the other side of certain life moments and look back and see the Hand of God in our lives. He has used some recent 'deserts' to allow incredible growth and change of mind, heart and lives. Our priorities have become more focused on His will for us."

Aaron and Heather Hjelle have been part of Edinbrook for five years. Their family (Noah, Hannah and Elijah) spends time together biking, at the park, and playing indoor and outdoor games - tennis for one. Aaron's diversion is woodworking when he has time and Heather is an avid reader. Heather is also co-writing a children's story about animals learning how to treat each other and learn social skills. "The story is based in Norway with an eclectic group of friends!"

Aaron calls himself the "spacebar guy" on the Sunday morning tech team! Both volunteer for Awana and Heather spends time with the S.W.A.P. ministry, nursery and landscaping team. She is looking forward to Apples of Gold this winter. Romans 12:12 and Isaiah 41:10 provide special meaning for them. The practical and encouraging verses promise His presence, help and a firm grip on us. They urge Christians as servants of the Master to be cheerfully expectant - not to quit in hard times and to pray all the harder. They remind us not to panic or be afraid because God is beside us holding us steady.

Send them a greeting by clicking here.
