This recent survey shows that the EPC strategy not only convinced MP's to vote against legalizing euthanasia and assisted suicide in Canada, but has also helped to shift public opinion against the legalization of euthanasia in Canada.

Creative Littering Cards

The debate about stem cells in recent years has hit the media for many reasons. There is no doubt that we are on the threshold of exciting advances in the cure of so many diseases and conditions. Due to the exciting promise of stem cells, the political debate regarding legal and moral issues has received a lot of public attention. Adding to this, celebrities like Michael J. Fox, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, have understandably made this a public cause. In the midst of this public attention, however, the promise of adult stem cells has not received as much attention. It is important that the public has good basic information regarding the differences, the pros and cons, between adult stem cells and embryonic stem cells. (read more)
Our Story

Signal Hill Banner

On October 22 - 24, 2010 Signal Hill hosted a booth at the West Coast Women's Show at the Tradex Centre in Abbotsford. With an estimated attendance of 25,000 people, the show gave Signal Hill an excellent opportunity to meet with women from across the Lower Mainland and share with them about who we are and what we do.

The response was extremely positive. Women who stopped by our booth were impressed and excited about Signal Hill's mission and the quality of the educational material and outreach tools we provide. Here are just a few of the comments we received:

"Women need this information. Thank you so much for what you are doing."

"Yesterday, I found out my teenage daughter is pregnant. Can I take a copy of your Pregnancy Resource Guide to share with her?"

"My friend is in her fifties. She had an abortion when she was young, but later got married and had children. It has only been since her children started having children that she has experienced emotional pain from having that abortion so many years ago. Can I share your post-abortion resources with her?"

Some women expressed concern that, too often, women believe that abortion is the only choice because there is not enough education and outreach available in local communities. All these responses affirm Signal Hill's conviction that our educational programs, outreach materials and targeted media are having an impact on society's attitude toward abortion.
