November means the end of marching band and drum corps, definitely two favorites in our calendar! But the cold weather means it's a great time to be inside playing music. Fall Events Kept Us Busy At SMC!
On Thursday, October 7 folks were dazzled by Yamaha's Zak Bond in our Springfield store! Twice honored as Percussionist of the Year, with four High Percussion titles and with two Class DCA World Championship titles, Zak gave an incredible show. He kept us entertained not only with his sound, but with stick gymnastics as well! On Saturday, October 9, we welcomed the return of the  Samuel Music Fall Festival to Effingham. Evergreen Hollow Park was alive with the sound of area favorites Block Party and Get Shorty , as well as the visiting National Guard Big Band. Kids tried their skills at the National Guard Obstacle course and had a chance to check out some of the National Guard vehicles that were on display. Folks enjoyed free pizza and drinks courtesy of Domino's and Pepsi. Many thanks to the National Guard, WXEF, Midwest Mobile Stages, FTS Sound, Audio-Tehnica, Domino's and Pepsi. We can't wait until next year! Thanks to everyone who came out for our Customer Appreciation Sale last month! People scored some great deals, many folks stayed a while and demo'd new instruments, and we made some space for new equipment. Congratulations to Joe Pettijean, who won some free lessons from Samuel Music.  The ghouls were out....along with ghosts, pumpkins and other assorted creatures in Effingham's Halloween Parade. The SMC employee-band showed some colorful spirit with their rendition of "You've Got A Friend in Me," playing on the Toy Story theme of the parade. The parade is an annual tradition, and one we were proud to be a part of!
