Get that job

There's no getting away from the fact that jobs are getting harder to come by.  So many people have suffered the demoralising effect of redundancy and the number of candidates applying for every vacancy is often very high.  So if you are lucky enough to get as far as interview stage, how are you preparing for that all important appointment?

woman being interviewedFor many people the very thought of an interview situation brings them out in a cold sweat.  If you have been out of work for a long period of time or just haven't had any interview experience for many years, you could be feeling rather out of your depth.

With this in mind I have recently attended a training session on helping clients to make an impact through their appearance, covering such things as clothing, body language, general good grooming etc.  It's no longer a case of throwing on a suit and hoping for the best.  Employers have so many candidates to choose from - you need to ensure you make the best possible first impression the moment you walk through the door, before you have even opened your mouth.

If this is something you are currently facing, and feel in need of some guidance, please contact me.

I have also recently joined forces for Claire Jenkins who runs her own company offering one to one interview coaching.  All her details are shown below, so do get in touch with her if you or someone you know would benefit from her service.

Treat your Mum
How about a gift voucher?

Flowers are great, but will only last a week or so, chocolates are yummy, but will probably not last as long as the flowers.  Why not buy her something that lasts for years to come?

A voucher for an image consultation is a really thoughtful and personal gift.  You can either choose a specific consultation or a fixed sum which she can put towards a consultation of her choice.  Either way, she is bound to be thrilled with a gift that lasts a lifetime.

Don't forget that Easter isn't off either - ditch those overpriced Easter eggs for a real treat!

Greetings!

Welcome to my March/April newsletter.

With the milder days and sunshine we have been experiencing over the last week or so the snowdrops have been bursting into life and daffodils are starting to make a show - I've even seen some early blossom.  Spring is on it's way and we can start to think about packing away the winter clothes.  Now is the time to make a fresh start with all sorts of things - spring cleaning, healthier eating, regular walks, returning to work.

There's lots coming up over the next couple of months - Mother's Day, Easter, International Women's Day, to name just a few.  Lots of reasons to celebrate, so why not give that special person in your life a gift that lasts for years - Find out more about gift vouchers on the bottom left of this newsletter. Judith Mercer

There's also a fantastic FREE event at Hobbs in Cheltenham coming up later this month.  See below to find out more, but please book early if you want to attend, as numbers will be limited.

Have a great start to Spring and I look forward to hearing from you with any style advice you need - I'm always here to help.

With very warm wishes

Workshop update

The Feeling Fabulous workshop run by myself and Sue Thomas on 1 March was a great success.  Many thanks to Belinda Bull for bringing along her jewellery, as well as providing us with a raffle prize.

The feedback we received was very positive, so we plan to repeat the workshop at a future date and perhaps even a follow up, which was requested by many of the ladies.

Many thanks to all those who came along, took notes, asked questions and jumped and streched to Sue's exercises.

The raffle raised a total of £40, which will be sent on to St Richards Hospice.

As soon as we have dates for future workshops Sue and I will let you all know, but in the meantime keep checking my events page for my small group workshops which will include new topics and weekend dates to be added soon.

Clear here to find out more.

Useful websites & events
Here's a nifty website to help you out when you're shopping for your spring and summer wardrobe.

All you need to do is tell the website your measurements using the sliders at the top of the screen and the table below it will show you which size you need to go for in each of a range of stores.  Take a look and let me know what you think: http://sizes.darkgreener.com/

Along the same lines, Curvissa are now offering a service for your all curvy girls.  They have 2 websites that you might find useful - one to help you find your perfect fit, no matter how curvy you happen to be and the other, called Swimwear 365, is specifically to help you find a swimsuit that flatters you.  Just click on the following links to find out more.

The Sudeley Castle Spring Grand Sale has come around again, which is definitely one of my favourites.

There's so much to see from accessories to food, homeware, clothing and garden furniture - set in the fabulous surroundings of the Sudeley Castle grounds.

The dates are 26 - 29 April and you can find more information about this and other sales around the country run by the same people by going to: http://www.ukgrandsales.co.uk/

Hope to see you there!

I hope you have enjoyed my latest newsletter.  Please feel free to pass it on to your friends.

As always, your input is gratefully received, so please ask if there is a subject you would like me to cover in a future newsletter.

Remember - when you look great, your feel great!

With best wishes
