Rugby Indiana Newsletter
April 2010
Greetings!

Good afternoon!   The Spring 2010 season is in full swing - We are proud to announce that this year (Rugby Indiana) has a record number of players, 1250+ and has welcomed three new teams: Arsenal Tech High School, Westfield Shamrocks, and Lawrence 7/8. By now all players should be registered for the 2010 Spring Season - if not please visit our registration website ASAP.

I hope you have already had the opportunity to enjoy your first rugby game and are looking forward to the remainder of the season.  I am excited about the level of play I have seen so far and look forward to the State Championships in Columbus, IN.

Our goal is for our players and their parents to have a positive rugby experience.  Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns or suggestions for improvement.

Sincerely,

Michelle Leroux

Carmel Jamboree
clinic
February 21st, 2010
18 teams and 400+ Rugby Indiana players converge at the Indianapolis Colt's complex for the annual Carmel Rugby Jamboree. A wonderful experience for players, coaches, and referees - a great learning opportunity all around. This year we added a Luke Gross clinic to the day's events. Players put aside their team loyalties and worked as one large cooperative group. All benefitted from Luke's expertise.

Rugby Indiana provides scholarships to over 45 players

thank you"Thank you" to all the generous rugby families that made donations!! 45+ players will now have the opportunity to persue their love for the game - thanks to you!

Quotes from some of the recipients: "In the past rugby seasons...I have developed some of the most crucial skills in my life"..."I have learned how to work hard, learn, teach and lead because of this sport"..."I can't think of a better way to spend my afternoons than playing a great sport with my friends!".

From the above passages you can see that these scholarships have helped provide much more than just a donation of cash, but, a means for high school aged boys and girls to learn life lessons through sport.
