The new year always brings resolutions that , frankly, most of us discard as soon as they become inconvenient. For example, I resolve every new years eve to loose that extra weight I gained from a lot of eating on the run while managing the store through the holiday season every year. That new years eve resolve lasts exactly till mid day of January 1st, when the in-laws come over with all the good eats they are known for, as we celebrate new years day together. This year its going to be different....Or not. Why ruin a perfect record?
One resolution that is much easier to keep is to have my eyes open for new,neat, and intriguing items for the store to carry, while putting into action ideas from all the listening I did with our customers over the past month or so, and to figure out how to bring value to you. We already have a bunch for the spring, from re-intriducing Birkenstocks, to adding Clarks footwear, to exceptional new products from Marmot, and tons of new outdoor gear for the gear heads. Throw in exciting new products from Under Armour's new outdoor line, (things that you will not find in any other store in North Jersey), with the best selection of Emotion kayaks we've ever had, and honestly I cant wait for March, when its all finally here and displayed. As well we plan to put a boat load of items on the web in our webstore, even making it possible to buy gift certificates, or order name lables as many of you do for your day campers, with out having to come in to the store first. "How to" videos on our website, hosted at youtube, complete an ambitious agenda for the first several months of the new year.
It goes without saying I thank you for your business over the past year, and appreciate the opportunity to earn more of it in the coming months.It is truly a pleasure to have such fine customers as we have, and I look forward to seeing you in the new year. Stop by, say hi, the office door is always open if I'm here. Now let me get to work on all that missing snow, so we can have a bit of fun these next 2 months....

This is our services's forecast for the temperature deviation in February 2012 , below normal.Its been warmer than this pic would indicate recently, but the snow that came last night shows the atmosphere has changed course, and we are looking towards a more volatile weather pattern. To make a long story short, the forecasters seem to be late to the party, the pattern that has developed in the past week was supposed to be here 6 weeks ago. Now its game on. For the snow geese out there,remember, February delivers the most snow every year!

Some history...  The first "BILL'S ARMY NAVY", back in the 1960's, in Irvington, NJ. The current store (below) was the second location, opening in 1971. The Irvington store closed in the mid 1980's.
