How about some soothing pictures... My family and I headed out the day before IRENE came to visit, with our favorite neighbors, to Quebec for one last blast before school started. 

A 20 mile trip outside of Quebec city was on tap for the first sunny day. While stopping for directions, some  bread, cheese, wine, directions, and some more directions  (apparently men will indeed ask for directions if they spy an attractive french speaking resort employee), we made it to Jacque Cartier National Park. It is simply picture postcard perfect. About as far north as the Outerbanks of North Carolina are to the south of us, for an outdoors aficionado as you most certainly are, you must make sure a trip here is on your bucket list.

Wildlife, Kayaking tours, camp sites, kilometers and kilometers of trails to hike, it is a fabulous destination for you and the kids, no doubt. When you've had enough, just climb back in the car for the short ride back to Quebec, where you can refill your need for old world charm and more luxurious trappings.

Now, you do need to dress right to comfortably enjoy the day, and I was glad to be set to go with ( insert gratuitous remark) some Northface quick dry convertible pants, Columbia OmniShade shirts, and Tecnica day hikers from the shop, well,  just check out the  COUPON at the bottom of the page to make it worth your while  to come on over and see what I mean.

And if your still packing a kid off to college north of here, and wont see them till Thanksgiving again, we have plenty of winter coats, polarfleece tops, thermals, and other stuff they may need as they begin their college careers.
