About Us

The Alberta Equestrian Federation (AEF) is a member driven, nonprofit Provincial organization responsible for organizing, coordinating, sanctioning and administering equine sport and recreation in Alberta since 1978.

Membership is in excess of 12,000 individual members as well as over 100 member equine Provincial organizations and industry partners. The AEF is the only Equestrian Body recognized by Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks and Wildlife Foundation. As such, we are the only body to directly receive funding and to have a voice within the Alberta Government on behalf of all equestrians in Alberta.

New for 2011!              Wild Rose Year End Awards

As part of the continued development of the Wild Rose competition program, the AEF is pleased to announce the introduction of Year-End awards!

Awards will be given in each of the 8 recognised provincial zones (as created by Alberta Sport and Recreation) as well as on a provincial level.

To participate competitors should submit the registration form to the AEF office along with the registration fee of $15.75 (15.00 +GST). Please note, points will not begin to be tabulated until the registration form is received by the AEF office.

Competitors may collect points at both sanctioned Wild Rose shows and non-Wild Rose shows; however results earned at Wild Rose shows will be multiplied by 2.  Competitors will be responsible for submitting results to the AEF office from non-Wild Rose sanctioned events using the results reporting form.

If you are interested in holding a Wild Rose sanctioned show, to afford your competitors the best opportunity at qualifying for awards, and to participate in the Volunteer Recognition and the Capri "Win your Entry" programs, please contact Allison Blackmore at the AEF office.

Complete program details will be available on the AEF website.
