Students Making a Difference
|
 | | Oakridge Middle School students with Wish Kid Josh |
It's always nice to see people helping people, but there's just something magical about seeing kids helping other kids. Through the Make-A-Wish Foundation's Kids For Wish Kids ® and Wishmakers On Campus ® programs, kids, teens, and young adults can help to grant the wishes of their peers. The South Carolina chapter has been moving full steam ahead with youth programs, but the young generation of our great state has taken it to the next level. During the 2010-2011 school year, 98 schools participated in Kids For Wish Kids ® and Wishmakers On Campus ® by hosting fundraisers such as a hat day, dance-a-thon, candy grams, pie in a teacher's face, and many more. Through their hard work and creativity, these schools raised over $100,000 to help grant the wishes of children in South Carolina! AMAZING job! To see photos from some of their events, click here. And for a complete listing of participating schools, clubs, and organizations, check out our Kids For Wish Kids® and Wishmakers on Campus® pages.
