Can you imagine picking up and leaving everything familiar to you?
Read about a refugee named Kidane, who now lives in Sonoma County. He fled on foot from Eritrea to Sudan, and then from Sudan to Libya in a crowded pickup truck, a journey lasted 16 days through the Sahara Desert. Link here for an inspiring refugee resettlement story.

Dream Act-Eligible Youth

Immigration Services is preparing to help "Dreamers" who qualify for deferred action status (valid for two years) and a work permit. Over 100 hopeful young people have requested our return call when we have all application details. It is an exciting time for young adults who grew up in the States, but they should be wary of anyone requesting payment at this time for anything, including "a place in line." Our accredited immigration staff offer inexpensive fees for service. Everything we do complies with U.S. laws. For information call 578-6000.
