Cooking Together at Rainbow House

Jamie cooking

Rainbow House moms gather for a "Chef's Night" twice a week...they prep, cook, eat, and clean up together, which teaches healthy eating, budget planning and teamwork.

Donated food items enhance Chef's night - like frozen meat and bulk items. With Safeway right across the street, they love gift cards from individuals and Hands across the Valley. Contact Steve to donate food or Safeway Cards

Building Kitchen Experience at Sam Jones shelter

Sam Jones Hall

The commercial kitchen that feeds 120 homeless men and women is a training site for 10 "Workbuild" volunteers. These residents are supervised as prep cooks and lead cooks. They earn a certificate for every 40 hours completed, which builds job experience and references.

"Got food" to donate?

Join Andy's Market and Give Food!

Andy's Market(Sebastopol) has been a community partner  to Catholic Charities homeless shelters and Rural Food distribution for 25 years. Just before Easter, Andy's donated 9 cases of fruit, 11 cases of veggies, 100 pounds of onions and a case of eggs! We distributed the wonderful fresh food to the Family Support Center, Sam Jones Hall and Nightingale at Brookwood Health Center.

This is just one example of ongoing community collaboration that ensures a safety net for families. Thank you, Andy's, for being our community partner!

With gratitude, on behalf of the neighbors we serve,
