Atlantic Bakery Expo    March 18th & 19th 2012

On March 18 &19th our EXPO was held in Atlantic City ,it was well attended with some exciting workshops, contests and exhibits. The early morning seminars featured Baking with alternative sweeteners, Wedding cake trends, Baking trans-fat free, Latest freezing technology, Time management, Pricing, and more.

The  Expo surely brought out the crowds with over 5500 attendees with over 170 companies exhibiting. 

The Atlantic Bakery Expo was proudly presented by both  the New Jersey Bakers

Board of Trade and the New York State Association of Manufacturing Retail Bakers,





The show floor was packed with new ideas, new products and attendees.

 It was wall to wall attendees on Sunday. Below is some views of the

New York State booth, the show floor and of course our Expo Committee

that made it all possible.

Visually exciting was the cake contest that was open to students as well as professionals.  


Winners in the student category were 1st Justin McCarty, 2nd Kelly Rockwell, 3rd Farnaz Menhaji.  


Winning professionals in the tiered cake category: 1st Krystina Gianars,

2nd Amanda Russen, 3rd Shanon Buckner.

In Novelty/Specialty division: 1st Fiona Black, 2nd Mara Mahoney, 3rd Danielle Martin. In the Sculpted Division: 1st Dorey Williams, 2nd Krystina Gianars, 3rd Patricia McDermott.  


Best in Show went to Dorey Williams.

Our education sessions included hands on classes with sculpting, gelatin flowers, advanced fondant, Gum paste flowers and airbrushing. We had many seminars featuring baking with alternative sweeteners, wedding cake trends, baking trans-fat free, latest freezing technology, time management,pricing, and  much more.  










New Jersey Bakers hosted a dinner congratulating their new officers and Inaugurating the our new R.B.A. President, Ken Downey Sr.
