Greetings!  

President's Message

 

Dear Friends,

 

I hope this newsletter finds all of you in good spirits as we enter the summer season. We are busy at our bakery with occasion cakes as most of us are this time of year.

We had a nice workshop at Teena's Cake Fair last month, thanks to the Wasserman family. We will be having a workshop at my bakery on Wednesday, September 14th.

Our goal is to help our members succeed by providing education and ideas that businesses need to prosper and grow. We all know that the camaraderie shared amongst us helps

benefit our bakeries, this is what makes our association strong. Also, we are having some social events over the summer and fall, we welcome you to join us.

New York State Annual Inauguration / Meeting

 

Annual Convention  

We are having our convention on Sunday,

 October 16th-17th at

Danford's Hotel and Marina in Port Jefferson

Rates are: $149.00 plus taxes per night and includes a

continental breakfast.

There is a $ 7:00 parking fee.

Our installation dinner will start at 6:00.

 

The cost of dinner will be $60.00 per person including tax

 and gratuity.

Please call the hotel directly to book you room, at least

30 days prior to the convention. Be sure to mention

New York State Baker's Association when booking.

 

Port Jefferson is a beautiful place to go in the fall.

There will be opportunities for members to golf, fish, shop,

 go a winery, or just get away for a couple of days

 with old friends.

New York State Bakers Workshop  

at Teena's Bakery on   May 2, 2011  

Aaron Wasserman and son David generously gave of their time and knowledge to our membership and demonstrated their versions of the best sellers in their bakery. Aaron is holding one of his famous banana loafs below. They also demonstrated their nut crunch, scotch brownies, coconut macaroons and chocolate chip cookies.

Nassau Suffolk Bakers Spring Workshop 
Nassau Suffolk Bakers held their Spring Workshop at the Paddy's Loft Restaurant in April.  Barbara Colantonio of Reinwald's Bakery in Huntington demonstrated marzipan figures and items. Many new ideas were presented. Barbara did a great job on this workshop.
