Would you like to help married couples and parents in your church and in your community?
Would you like to get the copyright for a program that is captivating and attractive to visitors, even dads?
Would you be interested in conducting a workshop for your congregation that has a proven track record in:
(1)     studies being set up,
(2)    couples being baptized, and
(3)    relationships improving?

Then come to LA or Singapore in February to become Certified Facilitators in two life-changing Movie Therapy programs.

How it came about...
John and Karen Louis feel blessed to have been located in Southeast Asia for over 20 years, and they are grateful for all their friends in the ICOC who have made that possible, including many friends around the world, especially the Southeast Asia Core Group, as well as the amazing staff and lay leadership of the Singapore church.  For the past eight years, the Louis and their staff have been trained in many aspects of counseling and communication, and have been integrating their skills into a unique toolbox of both biblical and therapeutic expertise. In order to meet the needs of their congregation in Singapore, John and Karen put together several workshops for marriage and family, which have profoundly helped their ministries in Asia. "I Choose Us"  (ICU) - a 4-part marriage program, and "Good-Enough Parenting" (GEP) - an 8-module parenting program based on schema therapy, were originally conceived as strengthening programs for their members, but have now evolved into also being evangelistic in nature. As others have heard about the success of these workshops, the Louis have received numerous requests to equip other leaders in the ICOC to be able to replicate these programs.

"I Choose Us"

Relationships are wonderful gifts given to us by God. The Bible teaches that marriage is one of the most intimate relationships we will ever experience. Unfortunately, relationships today are exposed to more pressure and stress than ever before. Marriages are being destroyed by miscommunication, infidelity and the breakdown of trust, as couples choose to follow the world around them instead of doing what it takes to make their marriage work. While some divorce, others allow their relationship to grow as cold and loveless as two strangers in the same home.  "I Choose Us" is a 4-part marriage workshop that will help you learn more about your marriage and the choices you can make to build the "love connection" in your marriage.

Research has shown that when core needs are not met during the formative years of a child, "Lifetraps" (schemas) will develop. These core needs are:

1) Basic Safety
2) Stable Base & Predictability
3) Reasonable Limits
4) Love, Nurturing & Attention
5) Empathy
6) Validation of Feelings
7) Acceptance & Praise
8) Spirituality

While no one's parenting can ever be perfect, "Good-Enough Parenting" offers a step-by-step guide on how parents ca
n learn to meet these core needs, and provide parenting that is "good-enough" to prevent Lifetraps from developing in their children.
"Good-Enough Parenting" - a series of eight parenting workshops - was developed by John and Karen Louis and is based on Schema Therapy founded by Dr. Jeffrey Young.

"In a world of too much information, 'Good-Enough Parenting' uses movies to teach parents how to MEET CORE NEEDS, and, at the same time, how to avoid passing down their own dysfunctional behaviors. Schema Therapy has been successful with adults, but I have always wanted to see someone do something on preventing schemas, or Lifetraps, in children, and here it is!"
