Greetings!

We took a moment to reflect on the past year and all of the progress made by The Clearity Foundation. We couldn't have done it without your support and the efforts of our team and our dedicated volunteers.

Clearity in 2011: Advancing Our Mission

by the Numbers

Patient support  care

104: We provided 104 tumor blueprints to women battling ovarian cancer to help with treatment decisions, nearly doubling the number of patients we supported last year. Read more about the women that we have helped.

203 tumor profiles in The Diane Barton Database:

We have compiled tumor profiling data and patient treatment histories during our three years of helping women to glean important information that might help to change clinical practice. Additionally, the data from our Diane Barton Database was used in a research study that demonstrated the importance of using tumor samples from the most recent recurrence for profiling. Our research findings have been accepted by the peer-reviewed journal Molecular Cancer Therapeutics and will be published early next year.

Public awareness

2.5 million readers: Coverage of Clearity in O, The Oprah Magazine reached over 2.5 million subscribers, which doubled patient requests for support.

1,000's educated at 3 events: Clearity hosted educational booths at 3 events to raise awareness of our mission: the America's Finest City race, Race for the Cure, and Run for Her. Team Clearity collected hundreds of email addresses and distributed brochures and bracelets to educate participants about profiling to improve treatment options.

Clinical education care

2 medical conferences: Clearity hosted a symposium at the American Society of Clinical Oncologists (ASCO) conference featuring 3 distinguished speakers with over 75 attendees and hosted an educational booth at the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists conference.

2 research presentations: Clearity presented research at ASCO and the American Association for Cancer Researcher (AACR) conferences.

2 new online physician resources: Clearity created a summary of clinical research evidence for the biomarkers in Clearity's profiling panel and descriptions of how the biomarkers influence drug response. Also our new clinical trails webpage helps identify ovarian cancer clinical trials based on the drug mechanism of action through a simple query.

We were inspired all year by the creative ways our supporters and volunteers helped raise funds for patient support. See more inspiring stories here
