BRIDGE BULLETIN
News for Friends of The Bridge Teen Center
November 2010
Greetings!

As most of you know, The Bridge Teen Center has been built by the community, for the community.  From the construction of our storefront site to our "Friday Night Live" volunteer teams, volunteers form the very foundation of The Bridge Teen Center.  Please check out the information below, and contact us about becoming a volunteer.  We thank you in advance for investing your time in the lives of young people in our community.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Volunteers

Since opening in June of this year, The Bridge Teen Center has trained more than 30 volunteers for a variety of roles.  However, as more students find their way to The Bridge, the need for more volunteers rises.  We need your help!  Our most pressing needs are:

After School Tutors: Tutors are needed in a wide variety of subjects on Tuesdays through Thursdays during after school hours.  High school juniors and seniors who are interested in helping junior high students are also encouraged to apply.

Front Desk: Individuals are needed to greet students, check them in, sign them out, answer phones, etc.  We are looking for people who can do shifts during after school hours.  College students are encouraged to apply.

Pilates & Fitness Instructors: As part of our mind/body program series, we are seeking trained instructors who can conduct pilates and fitness programs for teens during after school hours.

Community Promotion: We always need help spreading the word.  We are looking for people who are interested in distributing and posting flyers, promoting The Bridge at your church, etc.

The Bridge Teen Center desires each volunteer to serve out their strengths, skills, and giftedness.  For the safety of our students, and to determine where each person should serve to the best of their ability, we have a process for becoming a volunteer.  This includes filling out an application, interviewing, and training.
