USS CANON SIGNAL

February, 2010

 To WINSA members/supporters,

We are incredibly busy preparing for Vice Admiral Robinson's visit -- WHICH HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO APRIL.

As you plan your charitable giving for 2010 please be sure to ask your financial advisor Financial Planningfor the best way to plan your charitable giving.   There is legislation being considered that could impact your giving.

WINSA is a recognized 501c3 and we will provide documentation for donations received.

One of the quickest ways you can help support the arrival of the USS Canon to Sheboygan -- you consider honoring a veteran by sponsoring a mile of the USS Canon's trip to Sheboygan.

Donations can be made quickly & safely right on line at the
USS Canon cause page.   OR, mailed to:  WINSA, 3120 S. Business Drive, Suite 140, Sheboygan, WI

This is a quick message on a couple of topics.

At their March Board Meeting the WINSA's Board will be welcoming Chris Zimmerman of United One Credit Union as Secretary to the Board of Directors..

I NEED TO TELL YOU ABOUT A VERY UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY available to ONLY 12 individuals.   When the Vice Admiral and his wife come for a couple of weeks in April they will be officially kicking off the the Capital Campaign for the arrival of the USS Canon to be permanently in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.   Twelve individuals will be able to host a PRIVATE reception for a few of their close friends at a location of their choice.   We do have a local business that is supporting this endeavor and will make special arrangements at a discounted price.

A couple of the Development Team members will make a brief exclusive presentation to your guests.  The Vice Admiral will be your personal guest for your reception.    The goal of the Development Team will be to excite your guests and hopefully secure pledges to the the project.

If you might be interested in hosting a private reception, please contact the museum immediately at 920-254-1584.   Again, ONLY 12 receptions will be held and several have already been scheduled.

As always, if you have any questions concerning what is going on within WINSA or NAVMEC feel free to contact Larry Hinkelman @ 920 452 9446 or email palh@powercom.net or Char Pachniak @ 920-254-1584 or 920-254-8777 (museum phone) or email char@pachniak.com or info@usscanon.com

Founded in 2008, Training Ship Abingdon was established to provide a resource for children in the Sheboygan, Ozaukee and Manitowoc areas.

With children aging from 10-14, the NLCC helps it's members by providing them with a positive peer and a structured mentor environment with   emphasis on the 3 core
values of Honor, Courage and Commitment.

SPONSOR A MILE  &  HONOR THAT VETERAN KEEPING US SAFE

Canon front view
One of the major expenses of bringing the USS Canon to Sheboygan is the cost of the towing. Why not consider sponsoring a mile ($125) of this 3,200+ mile trip from Pennsylvania to Sheboygan. Wisconsin Naval Ship Association is a 501c3 and donations are tax deductible. Send checks to WINSA/NAVMEC 3120 S. Business Drive, Suite 140, Sheboygan, WI  53081. The map of the journey can be found at the museum facebook page or the USS Canon cause page.

Donations can be made quickly & safely right on line at the USS Canon cause page, or by mail to WINSA, 3120 S. Business Drive, Suite 140, Sheboygan, WI  53081

Why not sponsor a mile in recognition of that special relative -- a veteran close to you and your family or any veteran currently serving our country.

OR....a youth group, Boys Scouts, Girl Scouts, etc.  can do a fund raiser and sponsor a mile.

OR....maybe your workplace would like to do a fund raiser to sponsor a mile.

ALL mile sponsors will receive a certificate suitable for framing and will be recognized in the Naval Museum & Education Center of Sheboygan.

For that Easter Basket
