| Ice Cream Social & Movie Night | | |
Holmes families are invited to join the PTA on Friday, September 7, 2012 for ice cream and a
family movie to celebrate the start of the  new school year. We will be showing "The Lorax" (Rated PG). Hot dogs, popcorn, chips, candy and beverages will be available for purchase. Come out and reconnect with other Holmes families as we kick-off another fabulous school year!
5:30-6:30 Ice Cream Social
6:30-8:15 Movie
**All children must be supervised by a parent/guardian. This is not a drop off event.

Holmes Elementary is renowned for the high level of involvement from the community and the families
of our students. We are grateful to
 everyone who takes the initiative to get involved and we welcome new volunteers! If you plan to volunteer in your child's classroom or drive on field trips, you will need to fill out a NEW volunteer application for the 2012-2013 school year. The Holmes PTA will hold its first PTA Association meeting of the year on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 5:30pm in the Cafeteria. PTA members will be asked to approve this year's Budget, Programs, and the year-end Audit. Come meet  members of the PTA Board and learn about open Board positions:

Back to School Night will take place immediately following the PTA Association Meeting on Thursday, September 20, 2012.
 You will have a chance to visit your child's classroom, meet his/her teacher and learn about plans for the school year.

We are looking for a Co-Editor to assist in the creation and publication of the bi-monthly Hawkeye newsletter. The Hawkeye is created for teachers, staff, parents
 and students to share news and events about Holmes and our community. If you are interested in writing articles, basic desktop publishing or just love sharing news on all the great Holmes events throughout the year, we'd love to have you join the team. Cub Scouting offers boys a year-round, 
family-oriented program that is filled with character-building activities. Holmes Cub Scout Pack 299 would like to invite families of boys in 1st-5th grade to join us for an evening of FUN at our Pack Meeting on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 6:30 PM in the Holmes Auditorium.
