| We need YOU for the Holmes PTA Board!! | | Article Subheading
Given the school district's budget crisis, the PTA is needed now more than ever. The PTA helps to maintain curriculum and vital programs that enrich each of our children at Holmes.
Our annual election takes place on March 15, 2012. All PTA Board positions are elected annually.
We especially need parents to head up our fundraising efforts as well as our before and after school programs. Please consider volunteering for one of these vital positions!!
If interested, please contact Leigh Connor-Moyers, (619-723-0371) the Chairman of the Nominating Committee.

Movie Night, March 16th 6 pm (auditorium) | | Article Subheading
*RAFFLE * *RAFFLE* *RAFFLE* *RAFFLE*
Please join us for a G rated Family Movie, March 16th at 6pm, in the Holmes Auditorium. This is a free community event for all to enjoy. Food and drink will be available for purchase starting at 5:30. Please bring blankets, pillows or low chairs to sit on, just like in the park.
This is NOT a drop off event. The Holmes PTA is requesting a donation of a ream of copy paper to help support our school. This is not required to attend the movie, but would be greatly appreciated :) Each person that brings a ream of copy paper will have their name entered in a raffle. The winner will be announced at the end of the movie and will win a DVD copy of the movie shown.

| Tour Innovation Middle School | | |
Article Subheading Holmes' parents have an open invitation to tour Innovation Middle School (better known as "iMiddle"). Principal Harlan Klein and Vice Principal Nicola Labas will conduct school and classroom visits one Friday each month. As you hopefully know, for 7th grade, Holmes' families have the dual option of attending either iMiddle or Marston Middle School. Holmes' students who attend Marston in 6th grade are expected by current District policy to remain there through 8th grade, unless an Enrollment Options (Choice) application is submitted and approved for 7th or 8th grade and cannot be guaranteed. We do, however, save a spot for all Holmes' incoming 7th graders for automatic enrollment at iMiddle and hope to attract you to our incredible technology embedded program, with the district's first 1:1 school to home laptop curriculum for all students.
Visits are from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and are scheduled for:
Friday, March 9, 2012
Friday, April 13, 2012
Friday, May 11, 2012
Additionally, please consider joining us for the following events:
Annual Innovation Celebration and Student Showcase, May 16, 2012, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
iMiddle Orientation Night, May 22, 2012, 6:00-7:00 p.m. intended for all incoming 7th graders and their families
Welcome Back Social for 7th grade students and families, August 29, 2012, 5:00-7:00 p.m. The perfect time to get your supplies!
