Holiday Program is this Thursday!
Holiday program Article Subheading
The annual Holiday program is this Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Auditorium.

The schedule is as follows: From 6:00-6:40pm, students in room 10, room 15, all Kindergarten students, and all 1st grade students will perform. There will be an intermission from 6:40-7:15pm. 

During intermission, PTA will be serving refreshments in room 7. At 7:15pm, all 2nd grade students, all 3rd grade students, room 4, room 11, room B14, and room 22 will perform. We are happy to announce the live performance will be streamed to a large screen in the lunch court and additional parking will be available on the dirt field

With the turning of the calendars, we are again looking to the future. We are currently looking for parents to form the nominating committee so that we can select next year's PTA Board.  Click here for information on getting on nominating committee.  

 

Also, even if the joining the Board isn't in your future, it's never too late to join the PTA as a member.

El Pollo Loco is hosting our last Dining for Dollars event for 2011. December 17th, 11 am to 11 pm.  Bring this flyer for Holmes to get the donation.
Cheer Clinic

Clairemont High is having a cheer clinic, Saturday, January 14th.  $20 gets your child a 4 hour clinic.  Participants get to do a cheer and perform with the varsity cheer squad of Clairemont high on Friday, January 20th.

ERecycle Event -- Holmes Annual Ink Cartridge and Cell Phone Contest

It's time for the annual ink cartridge and cell phone contest. We're collecting more than used ink cartridges and cell phones this year. Send in your old cell phones, ink cartridges, laptops, ipods, digital cameras, laser cartridges, gps devices, video games/systems, dvd movies, and calculators. We're collecting it all!! Mark your items with your child's room number so the classroom will get credit for it.   

 

Contest Ends December 16th.

 

Winning class will receive a $50 check!

 

5th Grade Fitness Test

All 5th grade students will be taking the California State Fitnessgram® Test as early as February! In an effort to improve our 53% score, fitness-minded parents are teaming up to design and implement a supplemental fitness program.
5th graders will be coming home for the holidays with "healthy homework" to jumpstart their progress. 

Parents you can keep off holiday pounds and have fun with your kids by doing homework together! (To see the healthy homework assignment click here.)

School Tours

We will be holding tours for parents interested in Holmes on December 9th, January 10th and January 20th. Tours will begin with an orientation in the auditorium at 9:00 a.m., immediately followed with visits to the classrooms.

Junior Theatre

The Wizard of Oz is the play that the children will be learning.  Wednesdays from 1:20-2:50 pm for 10 weeks, your child can participate in the fun, confidence boosting activity.  The program runs from Wednesday, 1/11/12, to Wednesday 3/15/12 (10 weeks)

New Seat belt/Booster seat Law

CHECK THE LOST & FOUND!
Has your child lost or misplaced their lunchbox, clothing, glasses, mittens, etc.? Please check our lost and found bin in the hallway next to the 6th grade classroom. All items will be donated over Winter Break!
